Y'all ready? Ryan was just telling me that
his grandfather, Daryl Hardman, Daryl and Joyce Hardman, you
all know them, they've been here on many occasions, fell last
night, broke his leg. And he's home now in a cast,
but they're going to do surgery first of the week. So, you know,
Daryl's had been on a cane for many, many years now. So I want
to remember to pray for Daryl. Who's doing scripture reading,
Michael? You do that. In Ezekiel, oh, the 17th of next
month, we're gonna have lunch here. So you'll plan towards
that. We'll have a couple hours together
after the service. So everybody plan to bring something
on the 17th. In Ezekiel chapter 37, The Lord
gives the prophet a vision of a valley full of dry bones. And the Lord asked the prophet,
son of man, can these bones live? And Ezekiel said, Lord, thou
knowest. And then in chapter 37 at verse
11, God says to Ezekiel, Son of man, these bones are the whole
house of Israel. Behold, they say, our bones are
dried and our hope is lost and we are cut off for our parts.
Lord, that's the believer's heart. I'm vile. As he says in chapter
36, I loathe myself. Lord, I can't save myself. Therefore
prophesy and say unto them, thus saith the Lord God, behold, O
my people, I will open your graves and cause you to come up out
of your graves and bring you to the land of Israel. Oh, that
he would do that for us this morning. Let's stand together. Tom's going to come and lead
us in the hymn on the back of your bulletin. How could a holy God, whose glory
we extol, in justice ever save the lost, forgive and make us
whole? For sins against His law, Cannot
unpunished go But God in wisdom and in love Purposed His grace
to show O wondrous grace of God He sent His own dear Son For
wretched sinners Jesus came, For rebels lost undone. Behold the Son of Man, Condemned
and led away. He died to save His chosen bride,
The sheep that went astray. Redemption's work is done, the
Lamb of God has died, and with His sin atoning death, our God
is satisfied. The Savior bore our sin and suffered
in our stead. He washed away sin's awful stain,
and we are justified. Christ Jesus rose again. He conquered death and hell. Ascended high he ever reigns. Who can his glories tell? He is our righteousness, our
advocate and friend, our mediator, Lord and King, whose praise shall
never end. Please be seated. for our scripture reading, if
you would turn to Romans chapter 10. God has put this on my heart
for several months, and as usual, of course, Greg quoted it on
Wednesday night, but it's so good that I pray God will bless
it again. This is the prayer and heart
of every believer, and Paul is sharing with us his prayer for
his brothers and sisters in the flesh in the nation of Israel
and for their lost condition. And he tells us why, why they
are lost. Verse one, he says, brethren,
my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they
might be saved. For I bear them record, they
have a zeal of God. These were very religious people,
but not according to knowledge. They had a zeal, but they didn't
know Christ. And here's where their lack of
knowledge is in verse three. For these people being ignorant
of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own
righteousness. And these religious people have
not, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.
That's the Lord Jesus Christ. And in verse four, for Christ, the end of the law. the end of the law for righteousness
to everyone that believeth." The lies being told today in
false religion are great. And when you ask most people,
what is your hope of going to heaven? They will tell you about something
they've done or some experience they've had. And they're going
about to establish their own righteousness. When you ask a
believer, what is your hope of glory? The Lord Jesus Christ
and his righteousness. I have no hope in self. No experience
I've had or nothing I've ever done. In fact, that just discourages
me. But he's a, as the Bible says,
God's word said, he is not a hope, but he is a sure hope. Let us go to the Lord in prayer. Lord, we, our hearts are overwhelmed
by the goodness you've shown us. Forgive us for our unbelief.
Forgive us for complaining against your good providence, Lord. And
let us see things through your eyes. We thank you, Lord, that
there is a sure hope in Christ and his righteousness. And we
pray that if there are any here today or any within the sound
of our voice, that today you would remove those who are hoping
in their own righteousness any hope that they may have. Give
them no peace, we pray, Lord. We pray for your servants that
you've called to preach the gospel and their wives. Pray you would
bless them, encourage them, love them, and speak to their hearts
what you would have us to hear. And Lord, as your sheep, we pray
that you would give us this day faith to belief. We pray for our brother Darryl
and for Joyce. Lord, that you would cause them
to look to you, rest in you, grow their love and trust in
you as you would do it for us as our dear brother comes today
to speak of Christ and his righteousness. And we pray that our hearts and
mouths will give you all the glory. Amen. Let's stand together once again.
We'll sing hymn number 258 from the hardback teminal, number
258, He Hideth My Soul. Let's all stand. A wonderful Savior is Jesus my
Lord, a wonderful Savior to me. He hideth my soul in the cleft
of the rock where rivers of pleasure I see. He hideth my soul in the
cleft of the rock that shadows a dry, thirsty land. He hideth my life in the depths
of his love and covers me there with his hand, and covers me
there with his hand. A wonderful Savior is Jesus my
Lord. He taketh my burden away. He holdeth me up and I shall
not be moved. He giveth me strength as my day. in the cleft of the rock that
shadows a dry, thirsty land. He hideth my life in the depths
of his love, and covers me there with his hand, and covers me
there with his hand. With numberless blessings each
moment he crowns and filled with his boldness divine. I sing in my rapture, O Glory
to God, for such a Redeemer as mine. He hideth my soul in the
cleft of the rock that shadows a dry, thirsty land. He hideth my life in the depths
of His love, And covers me there with His hand. And covers me there with His
hand. When clothed in His brightness
transported I rise To meet Him in clouds of the sky His perfect
salvation, His wonderful love I'll shout with the millions
on high He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock that shadows
a dry, thirsty land. He hideth my life in the depths
of his love and covers me there with his hand. And covers me there with his
hand. Please be seated. Will you open your Bibles with
me to Psalm 39. Psalm 39. What is your most valued possession? The most valuable thing that
you have. What is it? and pray that the Lord in these
next few minutes will make it our soul. Our soul. That he will cause us to do what
most men don't do. Have a concern for the eternal
salvation of our soul. If we're brought there, I'm not
talking about being afraid to die. I'm not talking about...
I'm talking about, I mean, really being concerned with the state
of our soul. Truth is, it is the most valued
possession that you have. This life is so brief. What we
have in this physical world cannot be compared to the glory that
shall be revealed in the hearts and lives of God's people if
the state of their soul is right with God. Heard someone say this
week, said, don't worry too much about getting old, it doesn't
last long. That's true of life. Don't worry
too much about it. It doesn't last long. It really
doesn't. I'm not here to educate you on
Bible doctrine. I trust that the Spirit of God
will make the declaration of the gospel that you hear and
that I speak biblically and doctrinally sound. But my concern is not
to educate your mind. You don't need to be educated.
You need to be saved. I'm not here to try to reform
your life with moralisms. The truth is that the state of
your soul is such that you need a righteousness that is completely
outside of yourself. An alien righteousness, one that
you have nothing to do with. You need for God to do for you
what I need Him to do for me. And that is to charge the Lord
Jesus Christ with all the guilt and all the punishment of our
sin, and to charge us with that righteousness that only He can
provide. Now, we're talking about the
state of our soul now. We're not talking about what
everybody else in this world wants to give all their attention
to. I'm not interested in soothing
your conscience with religious, pious platitudes. I want you
and me to hear the truth as it is in Christ Jesus. For only
in knowing the truth can we be free from the wrath of God and
from the fear of death. What is the present state of
your soul? I'm not interested in boosting
your hopes with promises of a better life in this world. I can't offer you that. Chances
are things are going to get worse the older you get. But what you need and what I
need is not the hope of a better tomorrow in this world. What
we need is the hope of eternal life. We've got a soul. A soul that's going to live forever. When the Lord says in 1 Corinthians
chapter 15 that this mortal will be made immortal and this corruptible
will be made incorruptible, He's talking about this body. He's
not talking about your soul. Your soul is already immortal. Your soul is already incorruptible. It's going to live on for eternity
in one place or the other. What is the state of your soul? Everybody puts all their emphasis
and all their concerns on the state of their body. I'm asking
you this morning, what is the most valued possession you have? And if it is your soul, then
what is the state of it? I'm not interested in teaching
you how to be a better person. You need to be made a new creature
in Christ Jesus. to secure the salvation of your
soul. You possess something that the
empires of this world cannot purchase. All the money of this world What
will a man give in exchange for his soul? What does it profit
a man if he gains the whole world and he loses his own soul? God has made it clear that your
soul and my soul is more valuable than everything this world has
to offer. Is it that valuable to you? Is
it that valuable to you? If it is, that's a work of grace. Because the natural man, he might
give a thought to it here or there, and he might engage in
some religious activity to try to quiet its fears and salve
his conscience. But in the end, he hasn't really
met the needs of his soul. He hasn't come to Christ. The value of your soul exceeds
the value of the whole world. And when all the things of this
world, everything in this world, all the things that this world
holds dear dissolves, when all the things of this world ceases
to exist, your immortal soul will just have begun its eternal
destiny. How important is your soul? Your soul I'm not asking you that question
without having probed my own heart How important the devil
puts a very low value on the souls of men He will offer you something as
worthless as a bowl of pottage. And if you be like Esau, you
will sell your soul for it. He will offer you pleasure, pride,
popularity, power, and men will sell their eternal souls. for
the benefit of those things. They will quickly take the offer
and sell their immortal souls for nothing. How much does God value the souls
of his people? Well, he said, what does it profit
a man if he gained the whole world? Now, gaining the whole
world is more. It's much, much more than just
acquiring the possessions of this world. Gaining the whole
world means that you've got perfect peace. No conflict. No sickness. No anxieties. No troubles with anybody, complete
and total bliss in this world. Anything that you ever want.
And in addition to that, total and complete life without conflict. No sickness, no sorrow, no sadness,
If you could gain that kind of life, that kind of life, God
says it's not worth the value of your soul. Truth is that we've been made
in the image of God. What that means is that the souls
of men are the only thing in this whole world that's gonna
live forever. That's the life of God that he
put into Adam when he breathed life into his nostrils. He made
him a living soul. Enjoy your pets all you want. They're not going to be in heaven Nothing's gonna leave this world
Nothing is going to leave this world Except for the souls of
men. They are immortal They are incorruptible and every
one of our souls is is going to live in glory with Christ
or separated from God for all eternity in a devil's hell. There's
just no way around it. How valuable to you is your soul? Now when we try to determine
the value of something in this world, we say it's worth whatever
someone will pay for it. Isn't that true? The value of
anything that you've got is worth whatever someone's willing to
pay for it. Now if a fool is willing to pay
tens of thousands of dollars for a piece of toast that's been
taken a bite out of by some famous person, then I guess that's what
that piece of toast is worth to that fool. But everything
in this world is worth whatever someone's willing to pay for
it. What does that tell us about the souls of God's people? Oh, to the contrary, he wasn't
anything like that fool that bought the piece of toast. He's
God. He's God. He laid down the life
of his own dear son and put him to death himself. It pleased
God to bruise him. God the Father so valued the
souls of his people that he sacrificed the life and blood of his own
dear son to save them. What does that tell you about
God's estimation of the value of your soul? The powers of evil are vying
for the souls of men. As I've already said, Satan will
offer you nothing for your soul, and if God doesn't stop you,
you'll sell it to him. You'll sell it to him. For popularity,
you'll sell it to him. For pleasure, you'll sell it
to him. But what do the angels in heaven
do when one sinner repents, when one soul is converted? The scripture
says that all the angels in glory rejoice together over the salvation
of one soul, one soul. How valuable. You see, the truth
is that we all have a tendency to get the value of our lives
completely out of whack, don't we? We value that which is temporal
and we consider that which is eternal of no value. When the truth is just the opposite. It's just the opposite. And if
God enables us to have a sense of His value for our soul, what
that will do is it'll put everything else in this world in perspective.
All your friends, all your possessions, all your trials and troubles,
well, all of a sudden you'll see them in light of that which
is most valuable. If God enables us to value our
soul like he does, then Psalm 39 will be such a delight to
our hearts. This will be our prayer. This
will be our prayer. Look what David says in Psalm
39, verse one. I said, I will take heed unto
my ways that I sin not with my tongue, That sounds like a contradiction
to the religionist. Wait a minute, I will take heed
to my ways that I sin not with my body. No, that I sin not with
my tongue. Here's what the Lord Jesus Christ
said in Matthew chapter 12. He said, make a tree good and
its fruit will be good. Make a tree evil and its fruit
will be evil for a tree is known by its fruit. And the self-righteous
religionist will take that passage of scripture and he'll say there,
we need to inspect our fruit. And we need to inspect the fruit
of one another. Read on in Matthew chapter 12, oh generation of
vipers, how, here's the next verse, after he said, make a
tree good and its fruit will be good, make a tree evil, for
a tree is known by its fruit, oh generation of vipers, how
can you being evil speak good things? That's what David's saying.
And the Lord Jesus Christ went on to say, for out of the abundance
of the heart, the mouth speaketh. A good man out of the treasure
that is in his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man
out of the evil treasure in his heart bringeth forth evil things. For by your words you will be
condemned, and by your words you will be justified." What does that mean? That means that the words that
you speak about Christ, about salvation,
about the value of your soul, is consistent with what God has
said. A good man, out of the treasure
that's in his heart, what say ye about Christ? What say ye about Christ? Is
he the sovereign creator and sustainer of all of life, both
physical and spiritual? Is he the one in whom you must
be chosen by the sovereign grace of God in the covenant of grace
before time ever began? Is he the one that you are dependent
upon for his shed blood to redeem you, to purchase you, and to
satisfy the demands of God's justice? Is his life your life? Is his death your death? Is his
resurrection your resurrection? What say ye about Christ? Now here's my concern. I rejoice
with believers who speak of Christ. I'm concerned for those who never
say anything. They never say anything. And I wonder, what have you heard? What have you heard? Is the Lord
Jesus Christ Himself the doer of all things? Is He all of your
righteousness? Is He all of your wisdom? Is
He all of your sanctification? Or are you counting on making
some contribution to what He's accomplished? in being the Holy One of Israel. What say ye of Christ? That's
how David starts out this psalm. He said, I take heed to my ways
that I sin not with my tongue. Now, we all say things. We all... If the Lord holds us accountable
for all the words we speak, we're going to be in trouble. If He
holds us accountable for one word, You say, well, I don't know what
to say about Christ. Let me ask you this. Let me ask
you this. When you hear the declaration
of God's free grace in the accomplished work of the Lord Jesus Christ,
can you say, Amen? Can you say, Yes! He's my hope! He's all my salvation and He's
all my desire, though He make it not to grow. I will keep my mouth with a bridle
while the wicked is before me. My heart was hot within me while
I was musing. The fire burned. Then spake I
with my tongue. And what did I say? What was
the first thing that came out of my mouth? Oh, Lord, give me. Is that what
it was? Lord, extend my life. Lord, increase
my possessions. Lord, give me peace in this world. The wise man who speaks the truth,
what's the first thing out of his mouth? Read it, it's right
there, verse four. Lord, make me to know mine end. Can you pray that? Can you pray
that right now in your heart? Can you say to God with an honest
spirit, Lord, make me to know my end. Cause me to believe that I've got but a hand breath
here in this world. Cause me to put value on the
state of my soul. Deliver me from all the things
of this world that would cause me to take my eyes off of Christ. Make me to know my end and the
measure of my days, what it is that I may know how frail I am. Can you say that? Can you say
that right now in your heart to God? Can you say, Lord, make
me to know my end. Make me to know how frail I am.
Make me to know how brief my life is. And give me hope for
my soul in the finished work of Christ. Enable me to look
to Him. Enable me to rest in Him. In
that day, nothing else is going to matter. All this stuff that
so consumes our attention, that so makes us disquieted in our
spirits, it's nothing. Look what He says. Read on. If
you have a concern for your soul, this will be your prayer. Behold,
thou hast made my days as a hand breath, and mine ages as nothing
before thee. Verily, every man at his very
best state is altogether nothing. Do you believe that? The best thing
I've ever produced is nothing. If God gave you a blank check
like he gave Solomon, and if God gives you a blank check,
I mean, the sky's the limit, literally. God gave Solomon a
blank check, said, Solomon, ask for whatever you will, anything
you want, anything. What'd Solomon say? Lord, I am
but a child, I don't know how to go out, I don't know how to
come in, give me wisdom. Lord, I'll get caught up in this
world if you don't cause me to know my end. If you don't give
me a concern for my soul, all the interest of my mind and heart
will be directed towards my body, which is corruptible. It's dying. Lord, speak to my soul. Give me grace to have the state
of my soul secure in Christ. I can't save myself. I can't
fix my life. I need to be saved. Lord, would you do that for me?
Would you give me Christ? Would you give me wisdom? Would
you enable me? Lord, I'll just, I'll go through
this world like everybody else. You know, just getting all I
can and canning all I can get and sitting on the can and dying
and leaving it to someone else. That's what I'll do. That's what
everybody else is doing. It's what everybody else is doing. If God doesn't have mercy on
us, we'll do the same thing. We'll do it. Oh, my car, I've
got to have a new car, my house, my problems, my finances, my
bank account, my children. No, what about your soul? Man, it is very best states,
altogether vanity. The best thing you've ever produced
is nothing. Nothing. What are you taking
pride in it for? God says it's nothing. Time's gonna prove it to be nothing. Surely every man walketh in a
vain show. Oh, isn't that the way we walk?
Look at me. Look at me. Look what I've got. Look what
I did. Look what I accomplished. Look what I'm driving. Look where
I live. Every man walks in a vain show. It's nothing, God says. It's
emptiness. Get over yourself. You're nothing. You're soul now. Your soul, that's
another matter. That's of infinite value. Is it to you? Is it to me? How important is this? Every man walks in a vain show. Everybody's competing with one
another. I mean, we live in a culture that we just get bombarded with
advertisements. If you don't have it, you're
not gonna be happy, and you're not gonna be able to keep up
with your neighbors, and you're not gonna have this and have
that. Oh, you just gotta have it. You gotta have it. It's a vain show. It's just empty. It's just man pretending. He's just parading himself. Every man look surely they are
disquieted in vain Not only is our our show vain
When we don't get what we want and We become disquieted and
how easy that is to happen Somebody just say the wrong thing. Well,
we get disquieted don't we? I Some stranger cuts you off
on the highway. Man, you get disquieted just
that quick, can't you? Your investments don't go the
way they want. This doesn't happen the way you want. You plan this,
but it doesn't work out the way you planned it. Something doesn't
go your way, and you become disquieted, and God says you're becoming
disquieted in vain. Not only is your show vain, but
your disquietness is in vain. It's denying God His glory. It's denying Him His sovereign
reign when we become disquieted, isn't it? It's just unbelief. It's just unbelief. Oh Lord,
deliver me from my unbelief. He heapeth up riches. We spend all our life just accumulating
stuff to die and Leave it to somebody else
who didn't work for it and doesn't appreciate it How foolish we are This is why We need the Spirit
of God to enable us to have a concern for and a value on our souls. We'll go the way of the world. And now, Lord, what wait I for? What is my hope? If this is true,
if life is a vapor, if I'm here for just a little while and then
I'm gone and all this stuff is vanity, what is my hope? My hope is in thee. My hope is that I have an advocate
with the Father, Jesus Christ, the righteous one. My hope is
that I have a righteousness before God, one who has satisfied all
the demands of God's holy law. My hope is that his shed blood
on Calvary's cross put away my sin. How do I know that these things
are true for me? because God has given me a concern
for my soul. And he's caused me to realize
the value of my soul far exceeds the penance The worthiness, the worthlessness. How many words can we come up
with? Of the things of this world that so easily disquiet me. My hope is in thee. Is your hope in Christ? I mean,
you've got all your eggs in one basket. You just don't know any
place else. You can't go anywhere else. You
don't know what else to do. You don't have any place else
to go. You don't have a plan B. You're not hoping in Christ
plus your knowledge, plus your works, plus your efforts, plus
your will, plus your prayers. It's Christ alone. Can you say
with the Apostle Paul, I know whom I have believed and I'm
persuaded that he is able, I'm not able, but he is able to keep
that which I've committed unto him. What have you committed
unto him? Your soul. Your soul. You commit your soul to him.
Against that day, what day? The day of death! The day, you
say, what is the soul? I'll tell you exactly what it
is. It's the difference between that
live person and that corpse. That's what it is. Day, Abraham bought the field of Machpelah
because he wanted to take his dear wife Sarah's body and get
it as far away from him as he could. To bury it out of my sight. That's what he said. The truth is that a body without
a soul is good for nothing but putting it in the ground and
letting it return from where it came. The body without the
soul is nothing but a shameful, rotting shell of flesh. What is the soul? It's everything
that makes you who you are. It's that immortal, incorruptible nature that animates
everything there is about you. And when you die, your soul is
going to be separated from your body and what you see left will
show you what your soul was. Where is it going to be? Where will your soul live for
eternity? Is Christ everything to you?
I mean everything. Do you have hope? Can you say
with David, my hope is in thee? Christ is my hope. I have no
hope for my soul. We all have hopes for our flesh
in this world. You make plans. You get jobs. You raise your children. You
hope they're going to turn out well. You hope you're going to
be successful. You hope you're going to be healthy.
That's fine. But there's going to come a day
when all those things are going to end. Verse eight, deliver me from
all my transgressions. That's the only hope I'm gonna
have. Lord, you've got to deliver me from all my sin. You're gonna have to look to
what the Lord Jesus Christ did on Calvary's cross to satisfy
your holy justice, to deliver me from all my sin. My sorrow
for my sin is not sufficient. My prayers for my sin are not
sufficient. The only thing that's gonna put
away my sin is the sacrifice of thy dear son. Deliver me from
all my transgressions. I won't be able to stand in the
presence of God if he finds one sin left on me, not one. Make me not the reproach of the
foolish. I was dumb, I opened not my mouth
because thou didst it. Oh, Romans, the scripture says
in the book of Romans that God sent his law in order to shut
the mouths of men and make them all guilty before God. Has the law of God done that
for you? Or are you still defending yourself against God? You're still saying, well, yeah,
but Lord, Yeah, but I did this, or I know this, or I figured
that out. If the law of God has come, then
you have died. David said, God shut my mouth. That's what he's saying here.
He shut my mouth and he caused me to be dumb. Remove thy stroke
away from me. I am consumed by the blow of
thy hand. Lord, you've killed me. I need you to make me alive. I need you to give me hope. I
realize now that I have no hope in this world. I have no hope
in what I've done. I have no hope in the law. I've got no hope in religion.
I've got no hope in my knowledge. Lord, I need you to make me alive.
When thou with rebukes does correct man for iniquity, thou makest
his beauty to consume away like a moth. Surely every man is nothing. That's what that word vanity
means. Has he made you to be nothing? Has he turned your strength
into corruption? It's what he did for Daniel. Daniel said, when I saw him,
my comeliness, my beauty, my strength, my abilities was turned
into corruption. What is corruption? It's that
rotting corpse in the grave. That's what corruption is. And that's all you and I've got
to offer. Unless God does a work of grace in our soul. I need you to give me life. Lord,
I'm dead if you don't have mercy on me. Look what he says in verse
12. Hear my prayer, oh Lord, and
give ear unto my cry. Lord, I don't know what else
to do. But I ask you to have mercy on me. Have mercy on my
soul. Save me. I pray that prayer every day. The religionist says, well I've
gotten that taken care of. God saved me, I'm good, we're
okay. I'm okay, you're okay, we're
all okay. No, we're not. If the Lord's
given you a concern for your soul, you will ask Him, plead
with Him every day to save your soul. You'll never get over it. You'll never get beyond it. You'll
never become so presumptuous that you'll think, well, we got
that, we tucked that away. That's sealed now. Hold not thy
peace at my tears, for I am a stranger with thee and a sojourner as
all my fathers. Lord, if you don't have mercy
on me, I won't be able to come to you. Oh, spare me that I may recover
strength before I go hence and am no more. You're going from hence and you
will be no more in this world. But your soul will live on forever. Nothing you can do about that. God have mercy upon my soul.
What is the value of your soul to you. God says it's of infinite value.
He paid the highest price for it. Let's pray. Our Heavenly Father,
we ask that you would not leave us still until you settle our
souls in Christ. And every time we're disquieted
by the circumstances of our lives, we pray that you would cause
us to cry out again, oh Lord, have mercy upon my soul. And renew in us a right spirit. For it's in Christ's name we
pray, amen. Number 26 in the Saltback Temple,
let's stand. Here we go. The soul that sins, it shall
die. Word from God, who cannot lie. Justice cried against my soul. Law required eternal woe. terrors from God's law that fell,
crushed my heart with thoughts of hell. Righteousness I cannot
give, less than that God won't receive. How can I be just with
God? Can He save and yet be God? Can He pardon all my sin? Can He cleanse my heart with
Him? Yes, O blessed word of grace,
Christ brings hope to Adam's race. He obeyed the law of God
and poured out his life in blood. God in justice looks on him and
forgives his people's sin. Jesus died for sinners' sake,
now as such my place I take. Trusting him I cannot die, God
has sworn and cannot lie. By your cross, O Christ the Lamb,
free from sin and guilt I am. Christ has full atonement made,
now my debt is fully paid. I will sing of grace most free,
justice satisfied for me. At the throne of God above, I
will sing redeeming love. Amen. It's got a mind of its own. Thank you very much.
