Psalm Series

The sermon titled "His Heart Is Established" by Clay Curtis focuses on the theological concept of the believer's heart being established and fixed through trust in the Lord, as derived from Psalm 112:6-8. Curtis emphasizes that Jesus Christ is the ultimate example of the "blessed man," who perfectly fulfilled God's commandments and serves as a direct representative of His people. Key arguments include the idea that through Christ, believers are not only made righteous but also equipped to endure evil tidings without fear, as their hearts are firmly rooted in God's promises. Throughout the sermon, references to Scripture, such as Galatians 2:16, Psalm 15:5, and Matthew 25:34, enhance the understanding of God's sovereignty, His provision, and the eternal remembrance of the righteous. The practical significance of this message lies in the assurance that believers, anchored in Christ, can face life's adversities with confidence and that God's grace sustains them against fears and uncertainties.

All right, Psalm 112. I just want to begin in verse 6,
pick up where we left off last time. He says, Surely this blessed man shall
not be moved forever. The righteous shall be in everlasting
remembrance. He shall not be afraid of evil
tidings. His heart is fixed, trusting
in the Lord. That's the key right there, trusting
in the Lord. His heart is established. He
shall not be afraid till he see his desire upon his enemies. Now, I've tried to show you that Christ is preeminently the blessed
man. He's the last Adam, the perfect
man. The perfect man. He's the one
that you have God, the triune God, and our Lord Jesus. And he is the perfect man. And
he is the fullness of the Godhead in a body. He's all in and all. And he's the representative of
his people. He's the one that came. We saw here that the blessed
man's he that feareth the Lord and delighteth greatly in his
commandments. The Lord feared the Lord Jehovah
perfectly as a man. Isaiah 11 tells us that. And
he greatly delighted in his commandments and he fulfilled his commandments.
It's by His will, by the witch's will, we're sanctified through
the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all time. We,
through faith, when He gives you faith, you establish the
law better than any human being could have ever established.
Any one of us sons of Adam could have established it. Because
Christ established it, magnified it, honored it in perfection. Had to be. It had to be. And
He did that. Our Lord Jesus did that. He's
the seed that's mighty upon earth. He's the upright who's blessed. And we saw that wealth and riches
will be in his house. His righteousness endureth forever.
It's the preeminently the spiritual riches that he gives us will
always be in his house. He'll bless you who are his seed
with these spiritual riches. and provide whatever temporal
needs we have. He is given to us. He's the good man that's shown
us favor. He's been gracious to us. He's
lent to us. He guides his affairs with judgment.
He knows what we need, not just what we want. He knows what we
need. He judges in judgment. He looks on the heart, looks
on the heart, and he's working righteousness and working it
in spirit and he's teaching us and he's giving everything we
need. He's dispersed. We saw down in verse 9, and he's
given to the poor. We're the poor. He's dispersed
to his people. He's given to all of us. And
now his horn is exalted to God's right hand. He's the righteous
one who shall endure forever at God's right hand. And he perfected
his people. Now, Tonight we're looking here
at how the blessed man's heart is established. He'll not be
afraid of evil tidings. His heart is fixed, trusting
the Lord. His heart is established. He
shall not be afraid till he see his desire upon his enemies.
When our Lord Jesus came to this place and walked here as a man,
just what it said down there at the bottom of the psalm, it
took place. The wicked saw him and they were
grieved. Because he knew no sin. There
was nothing in him with which men could accuse him. He always
did that which pleased the Father. And it grieved the self-righteous,
and they gnashed upon him with their teeth. And finally, given
their will by God, they nailed him to the tree. But through
everything our Lord suffered, His heart was fixed. He was established. He trusted the Lord Jehovah in
perfect faith. He is the author and finisher
of our faith, the perfection of our faith. That law had to
be fulfilled in perfect faith, and He did it. Perfect holiness
of heart, perfect love, perfect righteousness. And when He's
come to you and He's given you this heart, to know Him. Sanctified you by the Spirit,
brought you to a belief of the truth, to know He truly is your
all in all. That you're the grass, that you're
the center, there's nothing good in your flesh, and that He makes
you behold your God, makes you seek Christ, and makes you see
He truly is God in human flesh, all your righteousness. When
He does that work, brethren, He fixes our heart on Him. He establishes our heart on Him. And this is what we know. We're
trusting. Our faith trusts His faith. Listen,
this is what Paul wrote, Galatians 2.16, knowing that a man's not
justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus
Christ. by the faith of Jesus Christ,
even we've believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified
by the faith of Christ and not by the works of the law. For
by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. No flesh
be justified. Christ was not moved and he won't
allow those who trust him to be moved. Christ's heart was
fixed trusting the Lord and he's fixed our heart to trust the
Lord. Christ's heart was established.
He was established on the word of God, and Christ establishes
our heart on Christ, our foundation, on the incarnate word, on Christ
himself. God says that those he's blessed
and made gracious and generous, those that he makes to give the
riches of this gospel, that's what he sent us forth to do is
to lend, to give, to give the riches of this gospel. And also
to be open-handed, to know whatever he's given us, he gave it freely. And he continues to provide so
that we can give to help take the oppressive load off of the
poor and the needy, off of our brethren. And he says of you
that he's worked this in. He promises, surely he shall
not be moved forever. He says you'll not be moved forever.
The righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance. He shall not be
afraid of evil tidings. His heart is fixed trusting in
the Lord. His heart is established. He
shall not be afraid until he see his desire upon his enemies.
That's God's promise. And that's what he shall... That's
how we're the blessed man. By the blessed man, he makes
your heart to be fixed, trusting in the Lord. He's going to keep
you there, Cheryl. He's going to keep you there. Now, first
of all, God promises we shall not be moved forever. He says
there in verse 6, surely he shall not be moved forever. The righteous
shall be in everlasting remembrance. Now, this right here. is first and foremost and really, really it's speaking of God and
what He'll do for you. That's what it's speaking about.
That's what it's speaking about first and foremost. I can show
you that because verse 5, it really goes with verse 5. A good
man showeth favor and lendeth. He will guide his affairs with
discretion. Surely he shall not be moved
forever. The righteous shall be in everlasting
remembrance. There's another passage in Psalm
15, 5. It says, he that putteth not
out his money to usury, not for interest, nor taketh reward against
the innocent. He lends to the poor. He gives
freely to the poor. He's helping brethren. He said,
he that doeth those things shall never be moved. He's not going
to be moved because he did those things. He's not going to be
moved because God has saved him. God's enriched him. God's laden
him with the riches of Christ and he knows it. He's made him
to know that he's God of heaven and earth and he's your father
and he's provided his son for you and he's provided all spiritual
blessings for you and he's providing all temporal needs that you have.
When you know that, when you know that, if you knew there
was a If you knew sitting up here there was a big old vault
right here, just had all the money, and just every time you
came up here there was more money in it. And food and groceries
and whatever, everything you needed. Wouldn't you worry? Wouldn't
you just come up here any time you needed something and say,
I need something? Well, the Lord has promised he's
going to provide for his people, just that real. He has everything
at his disposal, and he's providing, and he's doing it so that we
can give the gospel, so we can keep preaching the word, and
so that we can help the oppressed, and the needy, and the poor,
and take the weight off of them, temporally speaking, so they
can come without distraction and hear the gospel. That's the
whole purpose. That's the whole purpose. And
this is God remembering his child. This is Christ remembering you,
child of God. You that have been made willing
to show favor. You that have been made gracious
by his grace to you. You that have been made willing
to help because you see the help he's given you. This is from God to you, child
of God. Surely, he says, he shall not
be moved forever. You'll never be moved out of
God's heart of love towards you. You won't be moved out of God's
favor to you. You won't be moved out of His
love to you. Listen to Deuteronomy 10, 15.
Only the Lord had a delight in thy fathers to love them. Only
the Lord did. He had a delight in thy fathers.
We're talking about your spiritual fathers, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob.
He just loved them because He would. He chose their seed, their
spiritual seed, you. Even you above all people as
it is this day. Because He loved you. He said,
My love is everlasting. He said it doesn't end. It has
no beginning or end. You're not going to be moved
out of His love and His free favor. His favor knows no end
and favor means grace. It means grace. That's what favor
means. We'll never be moved out of His
love and out of His grace. Listen to this. The mercy of
the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that
fear him and his righteousness unto children's children. Do
you fear the Lord? Do you fear the Lord? Do you
see Him as your Heavenly Father, and you reverence Him, and you
want to please Him, and you thank Him for sending His Son to you,
and you want to walk after Him and do whatever He says? You
hate your sin, and you would be perfect if you could, and
you strive to be perfect. You want to be perfect. You don't
want to sin. You hate sin. You really and
truly hate your sin, and you want to be conformed to Christ.
He says His mercy on you will be from everlasting to everlasting.
It's by His mercy that you have this fear in this new heart.
And His mercy is from everlasting to everlasting. You'll never
move out of His mercy. You'll never be moved out of
His free favor, His free grace. Israel shall be saved in the
Lord with an everlasting salvation. You shall not be ashamed nor
confounded, world without end. God's elect will never be moved
out of the covenant of grace. You'll never be moved out of
the hands of Christ. You'll never be moved out of
the family of God. You'll never be moved out of
this state of grace that you're in, in this state of righteousness
in which he's made you. You'll never be moved out of
that. We may experience some afflictions. We will. Many afflictions
and all sorts of hard troubles come to God's people. That's
why he's speaking of this fear. Not being fearful. It's because
there are fearful things that come to us. Troubling things.
Hard things. But we won't be moved personally. We won't be shaken. We won't
be disturbed. But God will not let us be moved
away from the hope of the gospel. We may get disturbed. We may
be shaken in our self. We have a natural fear. We're
going to have that as long as we have a sin nature. But God's
not going to let you be moved away from the hope of the gospel.
He's not going to let you be moved away from Christ. We have
this treasure in earthen vessels, Paul said, that the excellency
of the power may be of God and not of us. Now listen to Paul.
Listen to this. This is from 2 Corinthians 4.
Listen to this. Forget this notion of we're going
to have a health and wealth and prosperity if we just obey the
Lord. Everything's going to be wonderful. You won't find anybody
who was obeying the Lord more than Paul. Listen to what he
said. Trouble on every side, yet not
distressed. We're perplexed, but not in despair. We're persecuted, but not forsaken. We're cast down, but we're not
destroyed. Always bearing about in the body
the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus may
be manifest in our body. That's what I saw him saying.
You're going to face things that you don't have any strength to
overcome. You're going to face things that you don't have any
power to overcome. That's what our Lord was telling
us when He said, in this world you'll have tribulation. But
He said, be of good cheer. I've overcome the world. And
because He has, you know what you're going to do? You're going
to trust Him. And by faith, you're going to overcome the world.
He's going to see to it. It's that the life of Christ
might be manifesting in you. Showing that He's renewing you
day by day. He's keeping you. We which live are always delivered
unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might
be made manifest in our mortal flesh. That's what he's gonna
do. He's not gonna let you be moved away from him, from his
favor, from his love, from his grace. And not only shall we
not be moved, he says there in verse six, the righteous shall
be in everlasting remembrance. And you're the righteous child
of God. If you believe on Christ, God has made you perfectly righteous.
Perfectly righteous. Christ is perfect. He's made
you righteous, the righteousness of God in Him. Put away your
sin forever. And He's given you a heart to
want to be righteous in this world. And you'll be in everlasting
remembrance. That is from God to you. He's
going to remember you. Let me show you that. Go to Matthew
25. You know, this is talking about
lending, this is talking about giving, this is talking about
sending the gospel forth, and it's talking about helping your
brethren, and it's talking about doing whatever you can that God's
put in your hand to do to further these riches of his word, to
help his people. And this is what he said, now
listen, Matthew 25, 34, he gave that description of what it's
gonna be like in that last day when he separated the sheep from
the goats. And he's put the sheep on his right hand and he said
in verse Matthew 25, 34, now this, what I'm trying to show
you is the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance. Now
you might not be remembered in this world, but you're gonna be remembered
by God You're going to be remembered by God. Listen, look at Christ. Is he not the righteous? We're
still talking about him today, aren't we? Your Lord's people
are going to remember you. If you're a child of God and
you died today and you've been somebody that's been a blessing
to them, they'll remember you. The world won't, but they will,
and God will. That's the most important thing.
Look here, Matthew 25, 34. Then shall the king say unto
them on his right hand, Come ye, blessed of my father, inherit
the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.
For I was hungered, I hungered, and you gave me meat. I was thirsty,
and you gave me drink. I was a stranger and you took
me in. Naked and you clothed me. I was sick and you visited
me. I was in prison and you came unto me. Then shall the righteous
answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee a-hungered and fed
thee? Or thirsty and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger and
took thee in? Or naked and clothed thee? Or
when saw we thee sick or in prison and came unto thee? That's the
spirit he gives the righteous right there. When did we do these
things? What are you talking about we've
done something? When did we ever see you and
do these things for you? Listen to what he said. The king
shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, and as
much as you've done it unto one of the least of these, my brethren,
you have done it unto me. He remembered, didn't he? He
said if it's just a glass of cold water, he remembers it. He remembers it. The righteous
shall be held in everlasting remembrance. Now that's one aspect
of this. Now let's look at this second
thing. Go back to our text in Psalm 112. The Lord promised we shall not
be afraid of evil tidings. because our heart is established
by trusting in the Lord. Look here in verse 7. He shall
not be afraid of evil tidings. His heart is fixed, trusting
in the Lord. His heart is established. He
shall not be afraid until he see his desire upon his enemies. Believers experience evil tidings
just like unbelievers do. In temporal things, we have the
death of loved ones, That's an evil tiding. You hear about the
death of a loved one. You have loss of jobs. You have
financial losses, hardships. Whatever happens in a city that
you live in happens to you. Whatever happens in our country
happens to you. Wars and rumors of wars. And
eventually, we're going to die. We hear evil tidings of spiritual
things. The devil goes about as a roaring
lion, seeking whom he may devour. The devil's the prime, he's the
preeminent wicked one right here that sees and is grieved and
gnashes with his teeth. He saw Job and how God had blessed
Job and how he, how God had prospered Job and he was grieved by gnashing
and he was want so bad as to destroy him. And God gave him
permission to put him through a trial. And there were some
very evil tidings that came to Job's ears about his children
and everything he possessed. We hear of troubles that come
about in the churches. Our Lord said things would get
worse and worse in this world. He said they're going to get
worse and worse. The witnesses are going to be slain. There'll
be a great time of tribulation and temptation unlike any we've
ever seen. We hear of evil things that happen where brethren have fallen and
different things, hardships, hard things they're going through. We hear of evil spoken against
our own persons. Paul said, Bad report and good
report. That's being false and being
true. But here's what's going to happen
by the grace of God right here. For the blessed man, this is
his promise. We shall not be afraid of evil
tidings. Our heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord. His heart's
established. He'll not be afraid. He's not
going to be moved. He's not going to be shaken by
these things. It's not that we don't have natural fear. It's
not that things don't shock us and surprise us, but Christ gives
more grace. He gives more grace. If you get
an evil tiding, and you're moved by it, and you're, you know,
shaken by it in your flesh, and you're troubled by it, and what
have you, the Lord gives more grace. Why does he do it that
way? One, to show us that that you
can't be fixed trusting Him without His Spirit, without Him. We can't
do anything without Him. Have you ever experienced this,
where you can't focus, you can't concentrate
on the Scriptures, you can't, you're full of doubts and fears,
and you can't just stop that. You can't make that end. You
pick up the Word, try to read the Word, you can't make it,
you can't, You can't do away with his unbelief and his fears
and his doubts. You can't do it. And then the
Lord will drop a word in your heart out of the blue. Or maybe
you listen to a message and he just makes it come right to you,
right as what you need. And he speaks it to you. He really
does. And it's like the clouds roll
back. It's like the light shines in. And then there's nothing
you can do but believe Him. And what do you learn by that?
We can't do anything without Him. Nothing. Absolutely nothing. He gives more grace when the
trouble comes. because he's going to keep you
established, your heart established. This is a heart matter. He's
going to keep your heart established on that one foundation. He said,
be not carried about with different and strange doctrines. It's a
good thing that the heart be established with grace, not with
meats, which has not profited them that have been occupied
therein. Establish the heart established
with grace. The Spirit of God's going to
keep you mindful. He's going to keep you knowing.
He's going to keep your heart fixed. He's going to keep you
trusting. And this is what you remember. This is what, when
something, you hear evil tiding, this is what you remember. God's
sovereign. Absolutely sovereign. This is
what He's going to use to settle you. This is how He's going to
fix your heart, keep you established on Him. Whatsoever the Lord pleased,
That did he in heaven and in earth and in the seas and all
deep places. That means whatever evil tiding
comes to your ear, whatever comes to pass in this world, it came
to pass according to God's purpose and God's ruling it. He makes
you know that, makes you remember that. The Lord of hosts has sworn,
saying, Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass, and
as I have purposed, so shall it stand. The Lord of hosts has
purposed. Who's going to disallow it? His
hand is stretched out. Who's going to turn it back?
And here's the thing about this. When these evil tidings come,
He'll let you see that if it wasn't for Him, you would be
moved away. You would be. Everything, anything
but established, anything but fixed. But he brings you back
and says, no, you're not going to be moved. You're not going
to be moved away from me. Your heart's going to be established.
You're going to be fixed, trusting me. And by that, you know what
he does? He makes you know he's really sovereign. He's really
sovereign. He's really working everything
together for your good. Our heart's fixed and it's going
to be established knowing that not only is He sovereign ruling
everything, this too. It's according to His holiness
in righteousness. It wouldn't be enough for Him
just to be all-powerful, but He does everything He does in
holiness, in righteousness. Look to the cross. Look to the
cross. Shall not the judge of all the
earth do right? Look to the cross. Christ came because God's holy
and righteous. The cross is a declaration that
God always does what's right. He saves in holy righteousness. Perfect truth. Perfectly fulfilling
all righteousness. Perfectly fulfilling his law.
Outward and inwardly. In heart and in deed. Perfectly. putting away the sin of His people,
answering to the justice of God, and His mercy is holy because
His righteousness is holy. That's where you see it. That's
where you see it. He saved us in a right way, in
a merciful way, but it's a holy and right and merciful way. And
since He's redeemed His people, since He's made you His purchased
possession, do you believe you're His purchased possession? Do
you believe that you're bought with a price and you belong to
the Lord Jesus Christ? Then you have this assurance
from Him. He will keep you. He will make it so you cannot
be moved away from Him. He's gonna make it so when the
evil tidings come, you will not be fearful. He's gonna do exactly
what's right for us, and He's not gonna let one of His people
be lost. And here's why our heart will
be fixed and we won't be afraid most of all, because Christ is
our refuge. Christ is our refuge. For those
Christ has made blessed men, made to fear him, made to greatly
delight in his commandments. For those of you that he strengthened
with might to believe him, come what may. Those he's enriched with spiritual
riches, so that you love your brethren as he's loved us. Those that's been gracious and
provided these spiritual riches in the gospel and gracious and
provided your temporal riches to men. Those that he's made
to be blessed men. He said, he's never going to
leave you and he's never going to forsake you. And he's not
going to let anybody separate us from the love of God in him.
Wicked men tried to kill David. They hunted David. They tried to kill David. And
David suffered much, and he was fearful at times. You know that.
He was fearful at times. Well, then how could this be
so when we see the fear in David? How could this be so when we
see the apostles in the storm just fearful as they can be?
Because that's us in our flesh. That's us in our flesh. That's
us when we're not trusting the Lord. That's where we'd be if
it weren't for the blessed, the preeminent blessed man, the Lord
Jesus, who's going to keep you. But our Lord Jesus came to David,
and this is where He brought David. David sang this at the
end of it all. Listen to this song. David sang
this in the day the Lord had delivered him out of the hand
of all his enemies and out of the hand of Saul. He said, The
Lord is my rock. He's my fortress. He's my deliverer. The God of my rock. and Him will
I trust. He's my shield. He's the horn
of my salvation, the strength of my salvation, the power of
my salvation, the horn of my salvation. He's my high tower. He's my refuge. He's my Savior. Thou savest me from violence,
He said. I'll call on the Lord who's worthy
to be praised. So shall I be saved from my enemy. Now, I know as you think about
these things, I know what everybody's thinking. You're thinking about
this life and you're thinking about things being okay in this
life. Things might not be okay in this life. That's not what
he's talking about. If you think that's going to
be the case, well, tell that to Brother Stephen that things were okay. It's well
with your soul. Most they can do is kill your
body, they can't kill your soul. They can't separate you from
the love of God in Christ. And if you have to suffer that,
if that's ordained for you to suffer something like that right
there, you say, I don't know if I could do that. I can answer
that for you. There is no way you could do
that. No way you could suffer preaching the gospel to men that
stand there with rocks in their hand and start stoning you to
death. There's no way you could. No way I could either. How did
he do that? The Lord gave him the grace to
do it. Was it okay? Did it end up being okay for
him? He looked up and the Lord was standing. The Lord who is
sat down because the work is finished, the Lord was standing
to welcome him into glory with him. Do you think it turned out
better for Stephen? Oh, I can't even imagine how
much better. See, that's what he's talking
about, Forest Brethren. These things, this thing of health
and wealth, and you're going to be greatly discouraged if
that's what you think is going to happen. We're talking about something
far greater, far more blessed, never ending, never changing.
And that's union, communion, everlastingly with Christ. through
faith in Him. And this one day will be sight.
We won't even need faith. We're talking about Him. We're
talking about being with Him. We're talking about being kept
by Him. We're talking about it all being okay because He's ruling
it, and He's doing what's right, and He's going to bring us to
Himself. You can say with Paul, this is
how I know everything's going to be okay, even if it don't
look okay in this world. You say, I know it's going to
be okay. I know whom I have believed. They can't take that from me.
No man can take that from me. They can gaslight me all they
want to and throw everything they can at me, open the fire
hydrant on me. They can't take that from me. I know whom I have believed,
and I am persuaded he's able to keep that which I've committed
unto him against that day. If that's where he's brought
you, you're not going to be afraid of evil tidings. Why, wicked
men are gnashing with their teeth and it's grieving them to their
bones. You're not going to be moved, child of God. You're not
going to be moved. Another meaning in this is his
heart is prepared. And I've just, I've gone too
long. His heart's prepared. Our heart's been prepared. Our
Lord told us to what to expect in this world. He said in the
world you shall have tribulation. He prepared us. He prepared us. But He also prepared us for how
we're going to overcome it. He said, be of good cheer, be
of good courage. I have overcome the world. Everything
we face, think about this, everything we face in this life, Christ
has already overcome it. Whatever it is, all our sin,
all the troubles we face, the devil, death will be the last
enemy destroyed. Everything that causes us sorrow
in this life, our sinful flesh, everything, Christ has overcome
it. And by His grace, He brought
you to trust in Him. You trust His covenant grace.
You trust Christ and His finished work. You trust His person for
your acceptance. You trust His righteousness for
justification. You trust His blood for pardon
and cleansing. You trust His sacrifice for atonement.
You trust His fullness to supply you in this life. You trust the
Spirit to keep you sanctified and separated, partaking of His
holiness. You trust His sufficiency of
His grace when you've been chastened by the Lord to set your mind
on Christ and make you meditate on Christ and remind you when
you're fainting in your mind that you've not resisted unto
blood striving against sin. Pick up your weary hands, strengthen
your wobbly knees, make straight paths for your feet to Christ.
Follow peace with all men and holiness without which no man
will see the Lord. It's Christ by the Spirit that's
going to chop the bitter root at the root. before He lets it
spring up and defile you and you go away into the world and
trade everything that Christ has given you for a bowl of beans
that the world will give you. He's going to keep you trusting
Him. And the greatest, surest thing
I know to describe what it is to partake of His holiness is
just what the Hebrew writer said in that verse. Set aside the
weights and the sin that deceives thee, beset you, and run the
race with patience that He set before you. Look into Jesus,
the author and finisher of our faith. He's the joy set before
us, just like we were the joy set before Him. And where's He
now? He's seated there at God's right hand. And there you are
in Him. Just keep following Him. And
you're going to go through things. You're going to hear things.
You're going to go through things. And you've seen brethren do this. I've got brethren I see go through
things and I think, how were they so faithful? I know how. I know how. The Lord's grace. His grace is really sufficient. It's really sufficient. to keep
you, to keep you trusting in Him alone. You don't trust in
the Lord. This world just reads over that,
glances over that. Let's move on to things. Let's
talk about us. If you can trust in the Lord, when everybody in all hell is
telling you you're not the Lord's, when it's dark, when you've got
no strength, And you got no reason in these outward things that
you thought was going to be the ideal proof that you're His and
all that's been turned upside down and you still trust Him. That's only by His grace. It's
only by His grace. It's sufficient. It's sufficient. And that's not a light thing.
That's the key to this whole psalm right here, trusting in
the Lord. Why is it when we're frugal,
you know, we paint it with pretty words. Oh, I'm just, I'm being
discreet. And our discretion is, you know, we're being careful
and we're planning things out. No, it's not. We're being covetous
and tight-wadded, not believing God. That's really what it is. True discretion, true judgment
is, God is my riches. Christ is my riches. He's providing
everything for me. There's nothing I can't do in
this world. Try it. Believe Him that much. That's gracious that He gives
His people, and He's going to keep you trusting Him. It's the
key to everything. Trust in the Lord. Thou wilt
keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee, because
he trusteth in Thee. There it is. Amen. All right, Brother Greg.
