Let us turn to the Word of God
and the Scripture that I would bring to your attention. It's
found in John chapter 2 verse 11. John 2 verse 11. This beginning of miracles did
Jesus in Cana of Galilee and manifested forth his glory and

of John chapter 2 As a text I would preach the Lord helping me from
the whole of this passage from verse 1 to verse 11 where we
have the record of the Lord Jesus Christ turning water into wine
and that by a most singular miracle. This beginning of miracles did
Jesus in Cana of Galilee and manifested forth his glory and
his disciples believed on him. Now firstly, by way of introduction,
let us just ask the question, what is a miracle? What is its
purpose? I don't want to go into too much
detail here, but I would just point out that there are three
different words used in the scripture, in the New Testament scriptures,
for miracles. and you can see the three different
words used all together in one place in 2 Corinthians chapter
12 and verse 12 2 Corinthians 12 verse 12 truly
the signs of an apostle were wrought among you in all patience
in signs and wonders and mighty deeds in signs and wonders and
mighty deeds and there you have the three words used in the New
Testament to describe miracles, signs and wonders and mighty
deeds. Mighty deeds is one word in the
Greek, it's dunamessi, from which we get our word dynamite, it
literally means powers, powers. This miracle you see is or any
miracle, a mighty deed, is not a power itself. The miracle is not the power,
but the miracle is performed by means of a supernatural power. It is a supernatural power which
causes the miracle, and so miracles are sometimes referred to as
powers or mighty deeds. Miracles are sometimes called
wonders. And this, of course, again, is not because the miracle
itself is the wonder, it's because of the effect that they have
on men. They cause men to wonder, and so they are therefore sometimes
called wonders. And then there are signs. Well,
this is the word that we have in John chapter 2 verse 11. The word translated miracles
in this verse is more often translated signs elsewhere in the New Testament. Now what is a sign? Well, I like
Archbishop Trench's definition. He says that it is a token and
indication of the near presence and working of God. An indication
of the near presence and working of God. And the other thing that
we can say about signs is that they are never an end in themselves,
of course. When you come to a sign in the
road, you've not yet reached your destination. The sign points
to where you want to go. It gives you an indication of
someplace else. And so it is with signs in general
in the scriptures, and so it is with this sign in particular. It is a token, an indication
of the near presence and working of God. And there is, in this
miracle, tremendous teaching, and instruction, and direction. It is a sign in the true sense
of the word. And the second thing that we
should note by way of introduction is that we are clearly taught
that this is the beginning of miracles which Jesus did. This beginning of miracles did
Jesus in Cana of Galilee and manifested forth his glory and
his disciples believed on him. The Lord Jesus Christ did not
perform any miracles in his infancy. He performed no miracles prior
to this. Now it is alleged in some spurious
non-canonical books that the Lord Jesus performed
miracles in his childhood. In the Koran it is alleged that
he made birds out of dust or mud and then made them fly when
he was a child and so on. Well, this scripture clearly
refutes all those other so-called scriptures, all these other writings,
This scripture plainly proves that they are not inspired of
God. The Quran is a fabrication of
the evil one. And what we have here is the
inspired word of God, and this we can go by. This is our infallible
guide. And as we come to consider this
inspired portion of the infallible Word of God, I would divide this
morning what I'm going to say under four headings. I trust
with the Lord's help and with the Lord's blessing to us each. Firstly, we shall consider marriage.
And secondly, merriment. Thirdly, the miracle itself.
And then in the fourth place, the manifestation of Christ's
glory. But firstly, let us consider
marriage. It's a very topical issue at
the present time, of course. We see that Christ's miracle,
his first miracle, was wrought at a marriage. And the third
day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of
Jesus was there, and both Jesus was called and his disciples
to the marriage. And, as I'm sure you're aware,
this miracle is still referred to in many wedding services today. In our own form for the solemnization
of holy matrimony, we speak of holy matrimony as an honorable
estate instituted by God in the time of man's innocency, signifying
the mystical union between Christ and his church. which Holy Estate
Christ sanctioned and honored with his first miracle in Cana
of Galilee. In the Church of England's Book
of Common Prayer it says, which Holy Estate Christ adorned and
beautified with his presence and first miracle that he wrought
in Cana of Galilee. So, 2000 years on or thereabouts,
we are still referring to this miracle which the Lord performed
at the wedding in Cana of Galilee. And the Lord Jesus Christ clearly
sanctioned and honored the estate of holy matrimony or marriage
in his teachings. Not only by this miracle, but
by his teachings also. He sanctions and honors the estate
of holy matrimony. He speaks of it as a creation
ordinance. In Mark chapter 10 from verse
6, from the beginning of the creation God made them male and
female. For this cause shall a man leave
his father and mother and cleave to his wife and they twain shall
be one flesh. So then they are no more twain
but one flesh. what therefore God hath joined
together, let not man put asunder." And here, of course, we have
the true definition of marriage. It is between male and female. For this cause shall a man leave
his father and mother and cleave to his wife, and they twain shall
be one flesh. This is the scriptural definition
of marriage. And anything else is not marriage. We must be quite clear on this.
Despite what the government says, marriage cannot be redefined. It cannot be redefined because
this is in actual fact what marriage is. You might as well try to
redefine the color blue as to redefine marriage. You can give
it another name, you can call it orange or pink if you like,
but it is still nevertheless blue. You can give another relationship
the name of marriage, but it will not really be marriage. Marriage is marriage, and it
cannot actually be redefined, just as one's sex cannot actually
be changed. Now, men may take powerful drugs
and undergo surgical operations to make them look like women,
but they cannot actually become real women. They will never experience,
for example, a menstrual cycle, and it is a physical impossibility
for them ever to bear a child. They may be able to change their
gender on official documents, they may be able to change their
name to Brenda or Tracy, but they are still nevertheless male.
And likewise, women cannot become men. It is a physical impossibility
for them to procreate, for example. So though they may look like
men, they are female still. And so it is with marriage. Two
men, or two women, or for that matter three men, or four women
and their pet dog, may go through a wedding ceremony and sign official
documents but they will never be truly married. It is actually physically impossible
for two men or two women to be one flesh. You may know that the word matrimony
which is synonymous with marriage comes from the Latin matrum meaning
mother, or monium, meaning state or condition. It usually follows,
not always, but it usually follows that when a woman enters into
a marriage union she will also be entering into a state of motherhood. Now it is a physical impossibility
for a man and a man, or a woman and a woman, to enter into a
state of matrimony. Same-sex marriage, like changing
one's sex, is nothing but a fictitious dream. It is not reality. Which is why the Scripture speaks
of those who go through with these things, or who condone
these things, as filthy dreamers. Now, you may say, well, that's
strong words. Well, these are the words of Holy Scripture.
Jude verse 8. likewise also these filthy dreamers
defile the flesh and Jude is clearly speaking there of promiscuity
and sexual deviance because in the previous verse he speaks
of fornication and going after strange flesh even as Sodom and
Gomorrah and the cities about them in like manner giving themselves
over to fornication and going after strange flesh are set forth
for example suffering the vengeance of eternal fire likewise also
these filthy dreamers defile the flesh and so on. The Lord Jesus Christ sanctions
and honours real marriage not the filthy dreams of the reprobates
Paul says marriage is honourable in all and the bed undefiled
but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge the scriptures
clearly teach us what marriage really is and the Lord Jesus
Christ sanctions and honours the estate of holy matrimony And this he does by working this,
his first miracle, at the marriage of Cana in Galilee. Now, before
we go on to consider the miracle itself, let us briefly say a
few words on the subject of merriment. You see, we see here that the
Lord honoured a feast by his presence and he sanctioned the
use of wine. A feast is made for laughter. and wine maketh merry," says
the preacher in Ecclesiastes. Here is merriment. Is it not
lawful on occasions to make merry? And what more fit occasion to
make merry than a wedding? There is, again as the preacher
says, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and
a time to dance. a marriage feast is a time for
merriment, a time to laugh and a time to dance and the Lord Jesus Christ did
not disdain to go to this marriage when he was invited it's interesting
that right at the outset of his earthly ministry we see the Son
of Man eating and drinking and this of course brought criticism
from the religious straight and strict, the Pharisees for John
came neither eating nor drinking and they say he had the devil
the son of man came eating and drinking and they say behold
a man gluttonous and a wine giver a friend of publicans and sinners
but wisdom is justified of her children the Lord Jesus Christ
was not of that sort which say stand by thyself come not near
to me for I am holier than thou These are a smoke in my nose,
a fire that burneth all the day, the Lord says in Isaiah. There's nothing wrong with family
and friends getting together to celebrate on special occasions.
There's nothing wrong with the use of wine. In that great psalm
on the providence of God, Psalm 104, we read of wine that makes
glad the heart of man. Psalm 104 verse 14, he calls
it the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service
of man, that he may bring forth food out of the earth, and wine
that maketh glad the heart of man, and oil to make his face
to shine, and bread which strengtheneth man's heart. Oh, there's nothing
wrong with these things, there's nothing wrong with any of these
things, these are the good and perfect gifts of God. what is wrong is the abuse of
God's gifts the abuse of any of God's gifts to eat and to
drink without giving thanks to our sovereign provider is an
abuse of God's gifts that's theft to take what God gives you without
returning thanks to his name that's an abuse of God's gifts
drunkenness is an abuse of God's gift of wine the son of man who came eating
and drinking and who attended the marriage of Cana in Galilee
also warned his disciples and take heed to yourselves lest
at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting and drunkenness
and cares of this life and so that day come upon you unawares drunkenness Paul says in Galatians
is one of the works of the flesh and they which do such things
shall not inherit the kingdom of God he tells us again in 1 Corinthians
chapter 6 that it is not only the effeminates and the abusers
of themselves with mankind who shall not inherit the kingdom
of God but also drunkards shall not inherit the kingdom of God
you will be in hell with the sodomites oh how we need wisdom Ephesians 5 verse 17 says, Wherefore be ye
not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.
And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess, but be filled with
the Spirit. We are to be wise. We are to give thanks to God
for our wine. Be not drunk with wine, wherein
is it says? Now, we must say here that the word
wine here in Ephesians 5 verse 17, be not drunk with wine, is
exactly the same as we have here in John chapter 2. There is no
difference in the words of the Greek. The water that Jesus turned
into wine, the wine that he made from that water was the same
as Paul speaks of here, be not drunk with wine it was not grape
juice there is nothing in the scriptures I believe which condones
teetotalism and I speak as one who was once teetotal be not drunk with wine wherein
is excess. J. C. Ryle makes this comment
but if Christ went to a marriage feast in Cana there is surely
something that Christians can do on similar occasions let them
only remember that if they go where their master went they
must go in their master's spirit now that is wisdom that is wisdom Wherefore be ye not unwise, but
understanding what the will of the Lord is, and be not drunk
with wine wherein is excess, but be filled with the Spirit. Let us proceed to consider the
miracle itself. It's interesting to note that
the other Gospels inform us that previous to this, immediately
after his baptism, the Lord had been tempted of the devil. He had been tempted, you remember,
in the extremity of his hunger, but he hadn't eaten for 40 days
he'd been tempted to turn stones into bread and he could have
done that, he could have done that but he did not, he resisted
Satan's temptations he would not perform a miracle for himself
all the miracles that he performed were wrought for others and so
the Apostle writes to the Romans let every one of us please his
neighbor for he's good to edification for even Christ pleased not himself
he would not please himself and he is our supreme example we read here in the account verse
3 that the wine had run out and when they wanted wine. Now this
would have been severely embarrassing for the bridegroom who it seems
was responsible for the provision of wine. This would have been talked about
for years afterwards. Oh, do you remember that wedding where
they invited all those guests and they didn't have enough wine
to supply them all? The wine ran out. What sort of
a host was this that couldn't supply enough wine for his guests?
It may be that he was poor. Perhaps he couldn't afford all
that wine. We don't know. But it would have been a shameful
thing, an embarrassing thing. And Mary is clearly concerned.
The mother of Jesus said unto him, they have no wine. Now it
may be that the groom was a relative of hers. We certainly see that
she seems to have some influence over the servants. We see her
addressing the servants in verse 5. And Mary is clearly expecting
her son to do something in this very difficult and embarrassing
situation. Now the question must be asked,
what is Mary's role in this miracle? The Roman Catholic Church, you
see, would say that we must pray to Mary and she will intercede
for us. She will speak to her son on our behalf, if we need
anything, if we want anything. This is Rome's teaching. Well,
this is clearly not the case. You see, I believe that the Gospel
according to John that in the Gospel according to John we actually
have an anticipation of Romanism. You see, there is no mention
of the institution of the Lord's Supper, which the Church of Rome
has transubstantiated into the gross idolatry of the mass. It's
a central part of the worship of Rome. But there's no mention
of the Lord's Supper, the institution of the Lord's Supper, in the
Gospel according to John. And there is no mention of Mary
either. by name. Just check it out, look in the
concordance or wherever you will find that there is no mention
of the name of Jesus' mother in the gospel according to John.
She is never mentioned by name and that is significant I believe.
She is referred to as the mother of Jesus here in John 2, his
mother in John 19. Other Marys are mentioned but
not the mother of Jesus, never mentioned by name and I believe
that is clearly significant here is an anticipation of Romanism
and we have the reply of the Lord Jesus Christ to her here
in verse 4 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with
thee? mine hour is not yet come the
miracles he wrought had nothing to do with his mother and neither
does the salvation which he came to accomplish for sinners she
is not even named by the Apostle the Church of Rome and its adherents
would do well to hearken to the advice given by the mother of
Jesus to the servants there in verse 5 his mother saith unto
the servants whatsoever he saith unto you do it and we would all
do well to hearken to that advice The Lord Jesus, in working this
miracle, simply says to the servants, fill the water pots with water. And when they've done that, he
saith unto them, draw out now and bear unto the governor of
the feast. There is no prayer to his father. There is no word of command for
the water to be turned into wine. There is not even the touching
of the water pots. the miracle is simply wrought
by the sovereign will of Christ when the ruler of the feast had
tasted the water that was made wine and knew not whence it was
but the servants which drew the water knew the governor of the
feast called the bridegroom and said unto him every man at the
beginning doth set forth good wine and when men have well drunk
then that which is worse but thou has kept the good wine until
now thou has kept the good wine until now it seems that this
was the best wine it was even better than the wine
that they had at the beginning which ran out this was even better
than the wine that was set forth at the beginning of the feast
And there was an abundance of it. There was an abundance of
it. Now it's impossible to be precise
as to the measurements. We're told that there were six
water pots of stone and that they contained two or three firkins
a piece. Now we don't know what those
precise measurements were, but it is reckoned For example, by
Archbishop Trench, that these pots that were filled to the
brim would have contained above 20 gallons. Now, Dr. Gill goes
even further than that. He says that they contained between
54 and 81 gallons. Now, that is a lot of wine. Now,
you may wonder why the Lord would make so much wine. Well, was
he promoting drunkenness? Well, of course not. The wedding
would have lasted seven days and there would have been many
guests, perhaps the whole village and other villages round about
would have come to this feast. We see that by all accounts this
was a huge quantity of wine. You see, God giveth not the spirit
by measure unto him and he gives abundantly to his people. Is
there not teaching in this how the Lord gives to his people?
I am come that they might have life and that they might have
it more abundantly. It's not even that they might
have it abundantly, that they might have it more abundantly. This is how the Lord gives to
his people. he doesn't give in a needily fashion he gives abundantly

it more abundantly now we said earlier that the word translated
miracle in our text is more often translated sign well if this
is a sign what does it signify? what does it signify? well firstly
I would suggest that there is signified here a change in the
dispensation from that of the law to that of the gospel. Moses turned water into blood
for the Egyptians to drink. Jesus turned water into wine
for his people to drink. You see, the dispensation of
the law is the dispensation of death, it's the ministration
of death, as Paul calls it. under that law we are condemned,
we are found guilty as sinners and all the law can do is condemn
us for our sin and that's its purpose is to bring us in guilty
before God the gospel is the ministration of life this is why Jesus has come, I
am come that they might have life the gospel is life, it is
salvation, it is peace peace with God through our Lord
Jesus Christ Moses, you remember, gave the Israelites water to
drink in the wilderness when they were thirsty Jesus changes
water into wine for the people to drink is there not revealed
here the superiority of the gospel dispensation over that of the
law? Paul describes the law as the
weak and beggarly elements it is as water compared to the wine
of the gospel we have so much more under the gospel now that
Christ has come we are in a much better place, a more privileged
position than ever the saints were under the Old Testament And is there not signified here
secondly something of the change that is wrought in the heart
of a sinner by the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ? He who turned
water into wine can change sinners into saints! And that merely
by his will! Now we don't know at what point
the change occurred in the water when it actually became wine.
We don't know. and so it is often times in the
case with the saints we don't know in many of the saints experiences
they cannot point to a time when they actually change we don't
know but there is a change there is a change when that gracious
change is experienced in the heart of the elect sinner Is
there not firstly a filling of the water pots of the eyes with
the waters of repentance? Have you been brought to mourn
over your sins? To cry to God for mercy that
he might save you from your sins? There is the filling of the water
pots of the eyes. with the water of repentance
like David who complained in the bitterness of his soul I
am weary with my groaning all the night make I my bed to swim
I water my couch with my tears like a woman which was a sinner
in Luke's gospel you remember her how she stood at Christ's
feet behind him she couldn't even stand to his face she felt
such a wretched sinner behind him weeping, and began
to wash his feet with tears. For that water was changed into
wine, surely, when he said to her, Thy sins are forgiven, thy
sins are forgiven. When we see by faith the crucified
saved, and our sins laid on Him when He says to our souls, I
am thy salvation. Oh is not then the water turned
into wine? That's the best wine, is it not?
To know the shedding abroad in our hearts of the love of God
and that by the Spirit of God. The water is turned into wine
and this is the very best wine to know that we were reconciled
to God by the death of His Son and to enjoy that communion with
God through Him to know my Jesus crucified far excels all things
beside all earthly good I count but loss and triumph in my Saviour's
cross knowledge of all terrestrial things ne'er to my soul true
pleasure brings no peace but in the Son of God no joy this is the best wine, this is
the wine of the Kingdom of God and is there not intimated here
in the third place something of a change that shall take place
at the death of the believer this present world is to the
believer as it were a place of water, it's a veil of tears David
says in Psalm 56 now tellest my wanderings Put thou my tears
into thy bottle, are they not in thy book? The woman of Tekoa
said to King David, you remember, for we must needs die and are
as water spilt on the ground which cannot be gathered up again.
This world is to the Christian a place of water and for the
Christian The best is yet to come. Thomas Brooks once preached
a sermon that a believer's last day is his best day. Of course,
it's the other way around for the unbeliever. His last day
is his worst day. But then he must leave his heaven
behind, which was upon this earth, and he must go to hell. For the
believer, he leaves this world behind, a veil of tears, and
he enters into the palace of the King. It is then that his water is
turned into wine. Blessed are they which are called
unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. Oh, there is a glory which
is yet to be revealed. For I reckon that the sufferings
of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the
glory which shall be revealed in us. And fourthly, I would suggest
that there is signified here something of the change that
should be wrought at the resurrection of the dead. Our bodies, physiologists
tell us, are made up of more than 50% water. In some cases,
on average, about 65% water. But our bodies are made of. Our brains apparently are 85%
water. Well, on the resurrection morn,
this body shall be changed. So also is the resurrection of
the dead. It is sown in corruption. It
is raised in incorruption. It is sown in dishonor. It is
raised in glory. It is sown in weakness, just
like water. It is raised in power. It is sown a natural body. It
is raised a spiritual body. This water will be, as it were,
turned into wine. We shall have a body may like
unto His glorious body. As we said in prayer earlier,
the Lord has promised His people, because I live, ye shall live
also. This is the hope of the Christian. and this is the hope of all the
church are you looking for that day? yes your body will be laid
in the grave but there is a day to come another
day the day of the resurrection and we shall be like him I shall
be satisfied when I awake in thy likeness or fifthly and finally under
this heading this miracle signifies does it not the change that will
take place in the entire creation at the end of this world for
behold I create new heavens and a new earth and the former shall
not be remembered nor come into mind there is to be a new and
better world nevertheless we according to His promise look
for new heavens and a new earth wherein dwelleth righteousness
this world is full of sin that world will be full of righteousness
no sin a world without sin like our bodies much of this
world consists of water it shall one day be changed again Paul
says there in Romans doesn't he? in Romans 8 verse 21 because
the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage
of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God
there is to be that glorious liberty of the entire creation
delivered from its bondage because it's subject to death at the
moment, that's the bondage but then there shall be that renovation
of the creation new heavens and a new earth wherein dwelleth
righteousness the psalmist says concerning the earth and the
heavens as a vesture shalt thou change them and they shall be
changed you see like water into wine this earth will be turned
into the Let us come to our final heading
this morning, the manifestation of the glory of Christ. This
beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee and manifested
forth his glory and his disciples believed on him. At the beginning
of the narration we see the humanity of the Lord Jesus Christ, for
we read there of his mother and the third day there was a marriage
in Cana of Galilee and the mother of Jesus was there the Lord Jesus
Christ was the seed of the woman he was born of the virgin he
took not upon him the nature of angels we read for verily
he took not on him the nature of angels but he took upon him
he took on him the seed of Abraham he came as a real man We see
here the man Christ Jesus. Oh, but we see more than that,
don't we? At the end of the narration, we see his deity. Because that's
what his glory is. It's his deity. He is God. In this miracle, the beams of
his deity break through the veil of his humanity. Remember, this
miracle is a sign, a token, an indication of the near presence
and working at the marriage in Cana of Galilee
the Lord Jesus showed himself to be true almighty God God was manifest in the flesh
we read of Christ as being the brightness of His, that is of
God's glory and the express image of His person this is the glory
which He manifested forth on this occasion, it was His deity
The Son speaks to the Father in prayer in John 17 and He prays,
And now, O Father, glorify Thou me with Thine own self, with
the glory which I had with Thee before the world was. He had
that glory with the Father from eternity. and the disciples saw something
of that glory on this occasion John could say and we beheld
his glory the glory as of the only begotten of the Father who
it was his deity which he manifested forth in the working of this
miracle you see here he showed that he is in full and absolute
control of nature you see we must understand that this miracle
was not contrary to nature. It is really a natural process
that turns water into wine. It happens every day in the vineyards
of France, for example. Apparently, in the 19th century
at least, when the rains came, the French vine dressers would
say, Heaven is raining wine! They saw the rain coming down,
they'd say, Heaven is raining wine! that rain which fell from
the skies would in due course be turned into wine you see it
was a natural process and the Lord here shows that he is sovereign
over the entire process from start to finish and that which
usually takes many months he can perform in an instant if
it's his will he will drift the hills from his chambers the earth
is satisfied with the fruit of thy works he calls it the grass
to grow for the cattle and herb for the service of man that he
may bring forth food out of the earth and wine that make it glad
the heart of man the Lord is sovereign over the entire process and this he shows in his beginning
of miracles here in Cana of Galilee now we should note in conclusion
the effect that this had on his disciples and his disciples believed
on him and his disciples believed on him but did they not believe
on him before? wasn't that why they were following
him? yes of course his disciples believed on him before this as
you see in the previous chapter we have found the Messiah which
is being interpreted the Christ they say, again we have found
him of whom Moses is in the law and the prophets did write Jesus
of Nazareth the son of Joseph and see Nathanael's confession
there in that first chapter in verse 49 Nathanael answered and
said unto him Rabbi thou art the Son of God thou art the King
of Israel all the disciples clearly believed on him before this But
we see here that their faith was confirmed and that their
faith increased. Faith is something that can increase,
you know. And maybe you feel you have little
faith. Well, little faith, if it's real faith, will always
want to be bigger, like a little child. Little children always
want to be bigger, don't they? And so it is with little faith.
It always wants to be bigger. If you've got faith, you will
want more faith. these disciples we see here that their faith
was increased the Lord increased their faith it's God who give
it to every man the measure of faith and the Lord here increased
their faith and his disciples believed on him the more we see
of the glory of Christ in the creation and in providence and
in the holy scriptures the more our faith will increase We must
pray with the disciples of old, Lord, increase our faith! Reveal more of thyself to me! Show me thyself! When we see the Lord making provision
for us, especially in seemingly impossible circumstances, well
then, surely our faith will increase. indeed the Lord may bring us
into those difficult and trying circumstances that we might see
His glory as our God and as our sovereign provider the Lord will
increase our faith and He may use difficulties to do it but He will do it and then we shall be able to
say with the psalmist the Lord is my shepherd I shall not want or we can depend upon him for
all things can we not who is able to turn water into wine
there is nothing that's impossible to him O fear the Lord, ye his
saints, for there is no want to them that fear him the young
lions do lack and suffer hunger but they that seek the Lord shall
not want any good thing the Apostle says, but my God shall supply
all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus May the Lord bless His word to
us today and may He grant that we might indeed believe on Him. In this beginning of miracles
did Jesus in Cana of Galilee have manifested forth His glory
and His disciples believed on Him. Amen.
