Romans chapter 8. Romans chapter 8. And this evening we'll look at
verse 31 and 32. Romans chapter 8. And the title of my message this
evening is, Two Clouds and a Gift. two clouds, and a gift. And I'll show you how I got that
title in just a few minutes here. Let's read these verses together.
The apostle says, What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be
against us? He that spared not His own Son
but delivered him up for us all. How shall he not with him freely
give us all things? The apostle here asks this question,
he says, since God before us, who can be against us? Now, the
question then comes to mind, how do we know God is for us? How do we know God is for us? The Scripture says, if God is
for us, then no one could be against us. I definitely want
to know if God is for me, don't you? If God is for me, who then
can oppose me? Who then can stand against me?
Who then could stop me from entering in to heaven itself? No one. No one. If God is for me, no
one could be against me. The Apostle gives us many things
in this chapter, many evidences. It's what we went over last time
is the many evidences of God being for us, which are, first
of all, there's no condemnation. That's how you know God is for
you. There is no condemnation seeing Jesus Christ has suffered
for our sins in His flesh and God condemns sin in Him. So then, how can I know God is
for me? Well, if you believe in Christ, God is for you because
there is no condemnation. That's good evidence. That's
good evidence that God is for you. He doesn't condemn you.
The second one is that you are spiritually minded sons of God. That's an evidence that's given
to us. You, by nature who were carnally minded, you had one
nature and one mind which was to sin and only to sin. The carnal mind is enmity against
God for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed
can be. You were not willing and you
were not able to obey the law of God. You are carnally minded,
therefore in our flesh, in verse 8 it said, you cannot please
God. You cannot please God, but God. God the Holy Spirit. came to
us who were of one nature and made us of two natures. He gave us a new heart as the
covenant promise was. It says this in the covenant
of grace, I will give them a new heart. And that's what He did
for us. He gave us a new heart, a new
spirit, new life of faith and love for Christ. And so now the Apostle says,
if you are led by the Spirit. Now what is the Spirit's job?
He is to convince you, to teach you of the things of Christ.
Do you know Christ? Then you are led by the Spirit
and you are the sons of God. Now is that not evidence enough
that God is for you? That He has made you His sons?
led by the Spirit. Another evidence is this, we
are heirs of all things, heirs of God. Join heirs with Christ. God is for you, therefore you
are heirs of all things. Now you're heirs not by your
work and not by your merits. You're heirs of God because God
has predestinated you to be heirs. He has chosen you to be sons. And if sons, then heirs of God
join heirs with Christ. Over in Ephesians chapter 1,
it says, "...in whom we have obtained an inheritance, being
predestinated." This inheritance was predestinated. We obtained
this inheritance being predestinated to it. It was ours from eternity. God gave it to us. It was ours. according to His will, according
to the purpose of Him who worketh all things after the counsel
of His own will. Who then could stop us from inheriting
this? Who then could tarnish this inheritance? Who could thwart this inheritance? No one. God ordained it. And not only did He ordain it,
but we experienced part of this inheritance when we were born
of the Spirit of God. You remember, the Spirit of God,
the Scripture says, is a down payment. to the inheritance. We've not yet experienced the
fullness of this inheritance, but I tell you, we've got a down
payment. God has given us the earnest,
the Spirit of God. Peter said this, blessed be the
God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his
abundant mercy hath begotten us again to a living hope by
the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead to an inheritance
incorruptible undefiled that fadeth not away reserved in heaven
for you you who believe in Christ that that inheritance is yours
it's always been yours it's yours right now and it will be yours
when you die it will be yours for eternity it's yours And believer,
we are heirs not just of the things of this world, but God. You're heirs of God. God is your
reward. God is your inheritance. And
if you have God, what do you lack? What do you miss if you
have God as your inheritance? We have the grace of God. The
glory of God is our inheritance. The psalmist said this, Thou
shalt guide me with Thy counsel. Well, here we're being guided,
aren't we? We're being guided by God's counsel, but afterward,
receive me to glory. And so we have a great inheritance.
And the next thing is this, we have the intercession of the
Holy Spirit in prayer. Believer, do you suffer? What's
the remedy of suffering? Prayer. Go to God in prayer. Come quickly to prayer. Don't
wait. Don't look for other avenues.
Come to God by prayer. And you know what happens when
you pray? The Spirit of God intercedes for you and prays on your behalf. Why? You don't know what to pray
for. Pray Even though you don't know what to pray for, and know
this, whatever's best, the Spirit of God will pray for that. Even
the things you miss. How many times do you pray for
something that you miss? You didn't know what was best. And
the Spirit of God says, I know what's best. I'll intercede for
you. And not only this, the fifth
thing that is an evidence God is for us is this, all things
work together for our good. Romans 8, 28, "...all things
work together for good to them that love God, to them who are
called according to His purpose." God chose us, God ordained us,
God called us, God justified us. God purposed that we should
be in the image of His Son. Therefore, everything is working
together for that purpose. For that purpose. That you should
be saved. Do you realize what's going on
in the world is all working together for your salvation to make sure
that you get to glory? Everything is working in that
direction. Everything is moving to call
the elect and bring them in. See, I know this because God owns
everything. Our God owns everything. The
righteous and the wicked. He owns them both. And He uses
them both according to His will for your good. For you're good. Now is that not evidence enough
that God is with you? It should be. Shouldn't it? Should that not be enough? The
one thing about the scripture is God knows us. He knows that
we always need something else. It's just not... It's just we
need more comfort, more assurance, more of His Word. And so God tells us that all
things work together for our good. God is for us. And so he
says in our text here, he says, what shall we say to those things?
If God be for us. That word if is not a question,
it just means since. Since. Since all these things
are true, there's no other conclusion you can come to but this, God
is for you. You can't come to any other conclusion.
If God says there's no condemnation, if God's given you His Spirit,
made you His Son, given you heir of all things, the Spirit intercedes
for your prayers, all things work together for your good,
surely you can conclude this, God is for you. God is for you. There's no other conclusion you
come to. Since God is for us, the question is asked, who can
be against us? Now then, listen. I ask you,
who can be against you? Does this mean that the Christian
is without opposition? Any Christian without opposition
here? I've just told you some things, and yet you are being
opposed right now. Satan opposes you. Now, right? The Scripture says, Be sober,
be vigilant, because... Your enemy, the devil, as a roaring
lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour. You have
an adversary that opposes you. And don't make no mistake, you
are not without opposition. He opposes us daily, constantly. Every opportunity he has, he
will oppose us. He will try to accuse us before
God. Second is the world. Isn't the
world against you? In the world, John said, marvel
not, my brother, if the world hates you. You marvel. I know
you do. When the world hates you, you,
you, what did I do? Don't marvel. Why are you marveling? The world will hate you. Why?
It hated your master before it hated you. And if it hates your
master, it'll hate you. And listen, you've got a third
one. And this one, don't quit. Self. Yeah, you've got somebody
opposing you. He's sitting right in the chair
you're sitting in. You oppose you. And because Satan is not omnipresent,
you always can't blame everything on him. You oppose you more than
the world and Satan. The flesh opposes us, the spirit
lusts against the flesh, and the flesh against the spirit.
These two are in constant warfare and opposition to each other.
So if God be for us, who can be against us? Well, we've got
things against us. We have things that oppose us.
So it's not saying that we would be without opposition, but yet
rather it is saying this, which of these can oppose God? Now all of these can oppose you.
But which of these can oppose God? Which of these can stand
against God? None of these can stand against
God. That's what he's saying. And so we have great foes. We have many things that oppress
us and they all desire, Satan desires that we fail. But here's our hope, here's our
victory, here's our comfort. Since God before us, who of these
is able to resist or thwart His sovereign will or decree? Seeing
He purposed to save us, He's purposed to call us, He's purposed
to glorify us, which of these can oppose Him? If God before
us, nothing then can prevail against us because nothing can
prevail against Him. There's no way we in our own
power could stand against our enemies. Am I right? In your own power you can't.
In your own strength you can't. Does Satan have to lie to accuse
you? He doesn't have to lie to accuse
you. He doesn't have to make up things on you. Well, Satan's
just making stuff up. No, he don't have to. You have
plenty of guilt to go around. No, he don't. The world is too
powerful for us. Why? Because it's so attractive
to us. That's why it's so powerful.
If we weren't attracted to the world, it wouldn't be so powerful.
We wouldn't care. But we are. We're attracted to
the world. We're attracted to people liking us. I tell you, we can't even have
power over our own flesh, can we? Can't even stop this flesh
from sinning. You have no power at all but
God. Here's your power. Here's your strength. Here's
where you stand. Here's where it is. This is where
your refuge is. But God is our shield. God is our refuge. And we are
in His hands, so then none is able to remove us from His hands. Here we are in the hand of God,
in the hand of Christ, Christ in the hand of God, who then
shall separate us from His hand. Matter of fact, God challenges
them. God challenges those idols. Remember, He said, which of you
do something? Do good, do evil, do something. God challenges
them. None can remove them from His
hand. None. He said this, I give unto My
sheep eternal life and they shall never perish. Now then, will
any of us perish? You sheep, will any of you perish? No. Why? God is for you. Who
then can be against you? God's for you. Who can be against
you? But now that I want to talk about
these two clouds. You know what a cloud does? On
a bright, sunny day, when the cloud comes over, what does it
do? It covers the sun. It covers the sun. I get down
when we have cloudy days. I do. I like the sun. It may be a little hot, but I
do like the sun. It feels good on the skin. It feels good to have the bright
light come down. But something about clouds, they
just separate our... Now it doesn't make the sun stop
shining, does it? It just separates our vision.
It just stops us from being able to see it. And so I want to give
you two things, two clouds. Two clouds that separate our
vision of this God being for us. And I got this from reading
another man's commentary. This isn't something new. He said two circumstances cloud
our vision. Cloud our vision of God being
for us. And one of these is outward afflictions
and troubles. Does this not cloud God being
for you? We, in spite of such evidences,
we see the Word plainly, what God says He's for us, He tells
us He's for us, and yet these things cloud us. Two circumstances
that cloud, that are calculated to inspire distrust and unbelief
in the believer's mind. And the first one is outward
afflictions or troubles. These press upon us in this world. They cloud our confidence in
God being for us. When the believer is suffering
so many troubles, enduring so much pain and sorrow, we have
great difficulty persuading ourselves God is for us. Isn't that right?
When you are in great trouble, when you are experiencing the
greatest amount of pain, it is the hardest thing to be spiritual,
isn't it? I tell you, when the body's suffering,
it's impossible to be spiritual. In ourselves, you just can't
do that. You can't just muster this up. You can fake it. You
may have a fake smile on your face and stuff, but you really
can't get down to the heart of it. Pain and suffering truly
cause us to distrust God's being for us. God being for us. We suffer. We say with Gideon,
Lord, if you're for us, then why has all of this befallen
us? Now what Gideon said, the angel
said, the Lord's for you. And Gideon said, well if he is,
then why is all this happening? Now which of us, being honest
with ourselves, have not said the same thing? Why? Because your suffering has clouded
your view. Your suffering has clouded your
view. The second thing that clouds our view is this. Inward sin. Inward sin clouds our view of
God being for us. John tells us, if any man say
he hath not sin, he is a liar and the truth not in him. People
running around today in religion saying, well I'm sinless. Liar. I got you right there. You're
just already lying. So that does mark you out. No,
John said if any man say we have not sinned, he's a liar. Don't
trust that man. No, why? Believers know we have
sinned. And we loathe it. We hate it.
We despise it. We long to be rid of it. But
we have it. We have it. And believers know our hope is
this. If we confess our sin, He is
faithful and just to forgive us our sins. We confess with
Paul, in my flesh dwelleth no good thing. And knowing God's
perfection, knowing God's righteousness, we ask, how could God still love
me? That's a question, isn't it?
When you are so full of sin and doubt and unbelief, there you
are, you're suffering, and then you say, how in the world could
God love me? And then it'd be suffering. Then
you're convicted of the sin that you just committed about not
believing God. And you get lower. You get lower. How can God still love me? How
can I expect to receive his favor? Like Rebecca, when she was struggling
with those children in her womb. Remember, God promised that out
of the seed of Isaac, the Savior should come. And yet, what was
her pregnancy? Was it not just full of trouble?
She said those in her womb struggled within her. And she asks this
question, why am I thus? Why is it, if it be so, if Christ
is to come from my seed, the seed of Isaac, then how in the
world should I be struggling? Isn't that what you think? If
I am the seed of Christ, if I am the heir of heaven, why do I
struggle with sin so much? Why is sin so constantly overwhelming
me? And what does this do for us?
It clouds our view of God being for us. How could God be for
me? How could God be for me seeing my sin? Like Asaph. Psalm 73, he said this, I know
God's good to Israel. But ask for me. No. I don't know if God's good
to me. Why? I don't know if I'm Israel.
I don't even know if I'm saved. That's what he was saying. He
had fallen off in the envy of the wicked, and he felt convicted,
and he said, I know God's good to you, but as for me, I don't
know why. His sin. His sin. And so these
two things, they're the things that cloud God's Word, that cause
us such unbelief, suffering, and sin. Well, I'm thankful God gives
us a remedy. And here it is, the gift. Here's the remedy for
your doubts and your clouds. And this gift, this remedy, is
as the sun breaking through the clouds and dispelling them. In our text, look back at your
text, he says, if God be for us, who can be against us? Now,
if you are doubting this evening, if you are doubting God is for
you, then here it is. Here is the thing that should
give you the most comfort. Listen. He, God, that spared
not His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all. How shall
he not with Him freely give us all things? The Apostle uses
the strongest argument that he could possibly make. He argues
from the greater to the lesser. God gave you His Son. And He did not spare His own
Son, but delivered Him up for us all. Why? That He may freely give you all
lesser things. What is the greatest? The Son.
Anything then that we have of God is lesser. If God has given
us the greatest, why would you not expect Him to give you the
lesser? What greater proof of God's favor
and love could be this than He gave His Son? And the purpose of this gift
is to deliver us from the two things that cloud us, trouble
and sin. God gave His Son to deliver you
from trouble and from sin. And so then, believer, if God
has given us the greatest gift, the most beloved that He has,
the most treasured possession, it only stands to reason that
God will never refuse to freely give us all things that are infinitely
less in value. Believer, there is nothing, listen,
there is nothing that is consistent with the glory of God, consistent
with the salvation of our souls, and consistent with the good
of the church that God will ever refuse to give you. You got that? God is going to give you everything
that is consistent with His glory. He'll never give you anything
inconsistent with His glory. Why? Because everything is for
the glory of God. God will only give you those things that are
for your salvation. And God will only give you those
things that are good for the church. Good for His elect. And
listen, they're freely given. So then, let's look at five things.
Five things to dispel these clouds. First of all, look who gave the
gift. Second, who is the gift? Third, what did the gift accomplish? Fourth, to whom is the gift given?
And fifth, what is the only conclusion we can reach by this? First of
all, who gave the gift? Look at your text, He. He. Well, we know that He refers
to God because of what goes before. If God before us, who can be
against us? He, God. God. Who gave the gift? God. God gave the gift. This moves us to see that God
gave the gift. He doesn't say the Father. He
says God. So that we might see that all
of God is engaged in this gift. All of God is engaged in the
trinity of His person, is engaged in giving us this gift. It is the Father who chose us. It is the Son who was given.
It is the Spirit who calls us. God is engaged in this. It's
not just one person of the sacred trinity. It is all the person
of God. See, your salvation took a lot,
didn't it? It took all the power of God to do it. He did it. God gave. and seeing God as the
Creator of all things, and to God will all men give an account.
We are His creatures indebted to Him. We owe to God all praise,
honor, and glory, and yet we have failed to give glory to
God, failed to praise God. We owe a debt to God. Isn't that
right? You see, you owe a debt to God,
but who's giving? God gave. God gave. Now listen, if you owe a lot
of money to Visa, I wouldn't expect them to come along and
give you anything. Why? You owe them. You owe them. You took from them. We've taken
from God and we owe God for our sin. A debt we could never pay. And yet, listen, God gave to
us. He gave. And He just didn't give. These things He gives us daily,
life and breath and food, and everything is a gift of God.
But this gift to His people is infinitely greater. It is His
Son. God gave. And when did He give
it? He gave it when you had nothing.
Isn't that what the Scripture says? For when we were yet without
strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. But God
commended his love for us in that while we were yet sinners."
See, God didn't wait for you to get better to give this gift,
did he? He didn't wait until you reached
a certain point of holiness and then said, okay, now I'm going
to... No, he didn't wait for you. He gave this gift even before
you were born. This gift was given long before
you ever opened your mouth and spewed out that pus of sin that
came out of it. God gave long before you ever
sinned. God gave. See, believer, the love of God? The love of God's gift was not
dependent upon our obedience It was not dependent upon our
perfect faith and love for Christ. Didn't this gift come before
you believed in it? Do you see this gift doesn't
depend on your faith? Isn't that something? This gift
was long given before you actually received it. And you know that
when faith comes, you know who gives that anyway. God does.
You didn't even have that. God gave you the faith. So it's
not dependent upon our faith. This gift was a gift of God.
It was an eternal gift. Bestowed of love, it is a salvation. And what is this gift? It is
His Son. For God so loved the world that
He gave His only begotten Son. His only begotten Son. The Sonship
of Christ is intended to show the immensity of God's love in
this gift. Now, which of us would have given
our children for a rebel? A hater? You got a lot of, say,
these Muslim rebels out there that want to kill us. That's
all they want to do. They want to kill every one of us and they
would do it. Especially us. They want to kill
us. Would you give your son for one
of them? Would you? You know we wouldn't. Not one
of us would. But how much lower are our sons
compared to His? What great gift He gave us His
Son. He gave us His Son. This One
who created all things. This One who is God, very God. One with the Father and the Spirit.
The Highest. The Son of God. This is the gift.
Behold the Christ, the Son of God, the eternal Son of God. You see, He gave His Son, but
He didn't give His Son as false religion claims. Now, false religion
would have to believe that God gave His Son just to be a prophet
or a teacher, to be a good man, to be an example for others.
That's not what our text says. It says, He spared not His own
Son, but delivered Him up for us all. See, Christ didn't come
just to be an example. See, Christ came to be a Savior.
He came to be a Savior. God gave His Son and did not
spare Him, but delivered Him up. Look now then at the Son
of God as the Father gave Him to save us. He gave Him to do what we could
not ever merit in our flesh. He gave His Son to suffer. and
die for you. He gave the greatest thing in
the universe. And He who is the Son of God
was a willing gift. He willingly came down to take
upon Himself our nature. Anybody really like this body? Anybody like living in this mortal
frame? It's full of trouble and sorrow
and grief. And our Savior, He suffered more
in this body than any man ever lived. He came unto His own creatures,
and His own received Him not. They mocked Him, despised Him,
and ridiculed Him who is their sustainer. Can you not imagine
the suffering of that? That you would come to your own
children and they would reject you and cast you and spit on
you? Would that not be painful? You bet it would, and this is
what he had to endure. Scripture says he was a man of
what? Sorrow and acquainted with grief. And what did we do? We hid our faces from him. We
turned from him. We despised him and found no
beauty in him. Do you not think he suffered
in this body? You bet he did. What was he doing
this for? for you. Why? You needed a righteousness you
could not make. And that's what he was doing.
He was being obedient. What you should have done, he
did. What you couldn't do, he did. But this is much more when
he said he spared him not. He just didn't send him down
here to suffer in the flesh as a man. He obtained righteousness
and after he had done that, God lifted him up, delivered him
up to what? Be crucified. Be crucified. Now what is that? Because it's
not just a bodily crucifixion that he suffered. No. You see,
God spared him not because God made him to be sin for us. What is the thing that clouds
you from understanding God's for you? Sin. Sin. God says, I spared him not
God gathered up all of the sins of His people as though they
were a massive bundle. He gathered them all in. And I tell you, He laid them on Christ. He made Him to be sin. And as He who was made sin knew
no sin, what could He say but, My God, My God, why hast Thou
forsaken Me? He knew no sin. He was the sinless
Son of God, and yet God spared Him not. Why? He made Him to
be sin. God, who cannot overlook sin,
punished sin. Not in you. but in Him. And what did He say when it was
done? What did He tell you? What did your Master say when
He finished suffering for your sin? He said, it is finished. It's done. The work is done. Redemption accomplished. And
that's what the gift has done. It has accomplished something.
It has finished something. What? Your sin, it put it away
forever, forever. It's gone. God will never see
it again. It's gone. Why would you doubt
God is for you? If there's no sin, then God is
for you. How could He be against you? God says in that day, in that
time, the iniquity of Israel shall be sought for and shall
not be found. It shall not be found. This gift, what did it accomplish? Redemption. Perfect redemption. Do you realize that all of the
sins you have committed, all the sins that you are now committing,
and all of the sins you will commit have already been redeemed? Already been put away? They've
already been paid for by the blood of Christ? God spared not
His own Son. Why? Your sin was imputed to
Him and He died for it. He died for it. Why then do you
suppose God was not for you? That's nothing but sin itself,
is it? It's nothing but unbelief. God
is for you. Why? He spared not His own Son,
delivered Him up for His own. He bore the shame. He despised
and bore that shame on the tree. And friends, we know this was
no accident, was it? He wasn't delivered up accidental.
You remember what Peter said in the day of Pentecost? He said
this, Him being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge
of God. You are by wicked hands crucified
and slain, the Lord of Glory. Can you not see God's for you?
That He gave His only Son, the best, and the best died in your
stead. And you know what God said about
His best? He said, that's enough. That's
sufficient. I'm satisfied. And if God's satisfied
with him, believer, God is satisfied with you. God's satisfied with
you. i was a one more thing about
him uh... accomplishing this this absolute perfection go to
go to hebrews chapter nine hebrews chapter nine in chapter ten if
you want to know about this finish work if you have any doubt concerning
his finish work he was not a tenor excellent chapter to go to this
and and and mark in your bible when you read through this this
word wants or one It's very important. Once. Hebrews 9 verse 12, neither
by the blood of bulls and calves but by his own blood he entered
in, listen, once into the holy place having got. I can't help but think of Revelation
when he grabbed that book from the right hand of God. He got
it. He obtained eternal redemption for us. When? Once. Once. How many times? Once. Once. Hebrews chapter 9 and verse 24
for Christ has not entered in the holy place made with hands
which are figures of the true but into heaven itself now to
the appear in the presence of God for us nor yet should he
offer himself often as the high priest entered into the holy
place every year with the blood of others but then he must have
offered himself since suffered since the foundation of the world
but now listen once in the end of the world at the appeared
to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself as it appointed on
demand wants to die and after this the judgment so christ was
once offered to bear the sins you see that once and in the
next chapter you see this in hebrews chapter ten and verse
fourteen said but this man after he had offered one sacrifice
for sins sat down forever on the right hand of god his fourth
expecting those enemies be made his footstool for back one offering. He has perfected forever, perfected
forever, perfected forever them that are sanctified. So what about your cloud of sin? What about it? Where is it? Why do you let this cloud hang
over you seeing that God has already removed them? It's nothing
but unbelief. God's for you. Now who is God
for? That's important, isn't it? Who
is God for? He said He delivered Him up for
who? Us all. Who's the us all? And we know this, not every man's
redeemed. Not everyone's redeemed. The men are in hell right now,
they've not been redeemed. Those who do not believe on the
Lord Jesus Christ, you have no right to claim redemption. But
who does? Only those who are born again
of the Spirit of God. You listen, you must be born
again. You must. You must be quickened
because you're dead. But how do we know if we are
quickened? Preacher, you talk about the
elect. Only the elect are going to be saved. You know that? Do
you realize that, that only the elect of God are going to be
saved? Only Israel are going to be saved? The high priest
did not represent all the people of the world. He represented
Israel. Christ represented Israel, His people, when He died on that
tree. But how do I know if I'm one
of them? You must be born again. How do I know if I'm born again? Do you believe on the Son of
God? That Ethiopian eunuch, he didn't
know much, did he? All he had was one preacher,
probably a few hours in a cart going down the road. And he said, what does hinder me
from being baptized? If thou believest with all thy heart,
thou mayest." And he said this, I believe that Jesus Christ is
the Son of God. He said, yep, you go right ahead.
Why? He was born again. Are you believing
on the Lord Jesus Christ constantly, perpetually, always believing
on Christ and none of yourself? You're born again. This is the
us-all. This is it. He spared him not
for us all who believe on His name. That's who that is. Do you believe He was successful?
Do you? I know this. If you're a believer
in Christ, this is your hymn. This is something you sing. You
can sing loudly. Nothing, either great or small,
nothing, sin or no, Jesus died and paid it all long, long ago. When He from His lofty throne
stooped to do and die, everything was fully done, hearken to His
cry. weary, working, burdened one,
wherefore toil you so? Cease your doing, all was done
long, long ago. Cast your deadly doing down,
down at Jesus' feet. Stand in Him and Him alone, gloriously
complete. It is finished, yes indeed. Finished
every jot, sinner. This is all you need. Tell me,
is it not? What do you need? I need this. He spared not His own Son, but
delivered Him up for us all. The only conclusion, then you
can come to this last thing, only conclusion. How shall He
not with Him freely give us all things? This is not the only
conclusion you can come to. How shall He not give you eternal
life? Did He not purpose it? Did He
not accomplish it? Did He not apply it? Does He
not keep it? How shall you ever fail of eternal
life? You did nothing to merit it,
earn it. You do nothing to keep it. All
your fighting is for naught. You're not keeping it. He is. Praise Him. Honor Him. Magnify Him. Worship Him. He gives you pardon for sin.
Do you need it? Does anyone here need forgiveness
of sin? Forgiveness! Forgiveness. In whom we have redemption through
His blood, listen, the forgiveness of sins. Now how shall He not freely forgive
you of your sins? Now I know you think, oh, I know He can't
forgive me. He spared not His own Son. What
makes you think He can't forgive you? You're redeemed, you're called.
How shall He not with Him freely give us all things? So then,
where's your cloud of trouble? You in trouble? Who ordained
it? He who spared not his own son,
but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him freely
give you all good? All trouble is for your good.
Everything that you're experiencing, sickness and health, all is for
our good. How do I know? He gave his son,
he spared him not, he delivered him up for us all. That's how
I know. He gave the best, how shall he not give the least?
Sin. That second cloud. How is it
that you should suspect sin should keep you from God? Sin's gone.
Sin's punished. Sin's paid for. Enjoy your God. Enjoy your God. That's what He did it for. So
that we may enjoy Him. Enjoy Him. May God give us such faith to
believe His Word and stop believing our feelings. Feelings come, feelings go. Feelings
are what? Deceptive. They're just deceptive. God's Word stands sure. If He
spared not His own Son, how shall He not freely give us all things?
May God bless this to you. Stand and be dismissed in prayer.
