Psalm 68:19-20

Service times are 9:45 & 10:30 am PST Sunday mornings and 6:30 pm PST on Wednesdays.

In the sermon titled "Daily Benefits," Kevin Thacker expounds on the notion of God's daily blessings as articulated in Psalm 68:19-20. He emphasizes that believers should recognize and thank God for the myriad of daily provisions He offers, both in times of joy and suffering. Thacker illustrates that the act of kneeling or bowing before God is not merely physical but signifies an acknowledgment of His sovereignty and grace. He supports his arguments with Scripture, citing passages such as 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 and Ephesians 1:3-14 to demonstrate that all spiritual blessings and a continuous relationship of gratitude stem from the grace bestowed through Jesus Christ. The practical significance of this message urges believers to cultivate a spirit of thankfulness in all life situations, attributing divine purpose in both joys and trials, thereby reinforcing core Reformed doctrines of grace and perseverance.

Be the Lord who daily loadeth
us with benefits. The God of our salvation, Selah. Remember, that's a musical term.
That means pause, take a breath, and pay attention. Consider this. This is serious. The good parts,
the warnings, Every bit of it, Lord said it, hang on every word. And do everything you can, the
hours and preparation, I'm getting behind myself. In the hours of
the morning of preparation, up to it, do everything you can.
On Wednesdays, take you an app. At three o'clock, you ain't got
a job to go to. Gain full employment. Prepare ourselves to hear a word
from God, whether it be a warning or it be a promise of blessing. We're gonna need these things
throughout the week. We don't just church Wednesdays and Sundays.
God teaches us these things in our classroom environment and
then we go out into the world and we say, that's right. That's
right. It's a day in and day out. It
says, blessed be the Lord. That word blessed there, it has,
are we putting blessings on the Lord? Poor him. I'll do my hands
in a goofy way or something to make him feel better. No, the
literal translation of that word means kneel. Kneel. Kneel to the Lord. Bow to the
Lord. Pay attention to me. Not to us. Not to a man, a preacher, or
even a prophet. Not to a creed. Not to a systematic
theology. Not to an ism. But to a person. Him. The Lord. Kneel to Him. Bow to Him. Bow to it. And when
is that? When are we to do that? Well,
when I got a brand new bass boat and everything's going good and
everything's nice and got a promotion at work and got a job. People need those, don't they?
All the time. All the time. Paul told us there
in 1 Thessalonians 5, rejoice evermore. I am to preach the
gospel in season and out of season. That means whenever I feel like
it, when I don't feel like it, whenever I think it's beneficial,
when I don't think it's beneficial, it don't matter, that's my job.
Do it. And we're to rejoice, we're to
kneel before the Lord and thank him and be grateful to him evermore. At all times. First, it's good,
first thing when you wake up, before you even roll out of bed,
Lord be with us today. Thank you for this day. This
is your day. Acknowledge it. Pray without ceasing. I will now enter into the communication
with the holy one of Israel. What is that? No, you just, it's
your father. All time. Lord, I hope you do
this and Lord, thank you for that. And I appreciate my brethren. That's that's praying without
ceasing. It's not just this cheesy superstition
over religious junk. Fancy words to men. Pray without
ceasing in everything. Everything give thanks. I'm giving
you a precept and it's impossible for man to keep. I'm telling
you to do something you can't do. Live, you can't do that either,
can you? In everything, give thanks. Why? Why should I be thankful if my
business went bankrupt and I broke my leg and my family left me
because of the gospel and that happens? I'll be thankful. Why? For this is the will of
God in Christ Jesus concerning you. This is one-on-one. This ain't for somebody else.
It's for you. For you. Lord did this for me. It's a
thumbprint that's tailor-made for me in everything, good or
bad, rain or shine. Joy or sadness? That's so. And
I'm gonna talk about sadness, because it's easy to be thankful
whenever, or a little bit. We don't even think for much,
but we say, well, thank you, Lord. And then we go on about partying
and having a good time, don't we? Job got word that he lost
everything. Everything was took from him.
And he arose and he rent his mantle. That doesn't mean he
went down and paid $5 for two days worth of mantle rental.
That means he tore his clothes off of him. because his heart
was just busting out his chest in pain. And he shaved his head,
and he fell down on the ground, and he worshiped. And he said,
naked came out from my mother's womb, naked child returned to
the Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away. Blessed, that's the
same word as here, kneel, worship. Be the name of the Lord. And
in all this Job said not, nor charge God foolishly. If something
terrible happens to us, no one's ever told you, here's the first
time I'll tell you. If something terrible happens, go to the house
of the Lord. If your mind's so consumed with
work or pain or whatever, I'll tell you. If you ain't been told
before, I'm gonna tell you now. Go to the house of the Lord.
and encourage one another to go to the house of the Lord.
There was a time, I told Cameron, I was so mad one day at work, everything
was just going south, and I said, it ain't no sense in me going
to Thursday night service. I ain't gonna hear a word of
it. And as a good fellow laborer, I said, saying to God, encouraging
me, she said, somebody else is watching you, and that'll discourage
Clay, and that'll discourage those brethren. Now you get up,
and the Lord will probably bless it. You get up and go to his
house, he says to. And you know what? I was a fool. That was a wonderful service.
The Lord blessed my heart in it. He did. It was painful or
difficult or whatever. But this is so impossible for
us to be thankful in all things and to kneel to the Lord for
all things. Because we like to say, well,
if you hadn't have done this, then this wouldn't have happened. God did
it, right? The Lord did. Does that calm our frustrations
and our angst and contention with others? The Lord allowed
that to happen. Now, we by wicked hands have
done it, but Lord's on his throne, isn't it? That's impossible for
us to thank him in all things and bow to him in all things,
unless he makes us willing to bow to him. Unless he makes us
willing to praise him. How could Job have done that? If you and I aren't going down
easy street, how can we? How can we give thanks in all
things? How can we kneel to the Lord in all of his providence
and thank him? Hebrews 13 says, By Him, that's
the Lord. I'll read it to you. By Him,
that's the Lord. Therefore, let us offer sacrifice
of praise to our God continually. He said rejoice evermore, right?
Prayer without ceasing. Let us do this continually that,
that is the fruit of our lips giving thanks to His name. How
can we thank God for anything? The Lord's done all this. What's
left us to do? Thank Him? He saved us. He's
preserved us forever. Gave us His Son. What do we do?
Thank Him. We can't even do that. It has to be by Him that praise
comes out of our lips. And we acknowledge that, don't
we? Don't we? Or does that make you mad? Why
did I thank Him? Don't look thankful. Go to another
room. He's done that. Why? Why should
we do this? Look at verse 19 again. Blessed
be the Lord, kneel to him, thank him always, who daily loadeth
us with benefits. Daily. And I thought of just
an empty truck bed, a pickup truck bed. That's what we are.
We're just the empty shale, ain't we? Clay pot. And the Lord loadeth. That means he was loadin', he's
loadin', and he's gonna keep loadin'. He loadeth us continually
with benefits. Benefits. David wrote this in
Psalm 139. He said, how precious also are
thy thoughts unto me, O God. How great is the sum of them.
The Lord looked on his people, and he said, I know my thoughts
concerning you. What do you think about God?
Well, we'll have some thoughts. It matters what he thinks of
us. And they said, I gave you an expected end. I've had thoughts
of evil, thoughts of good things. And David said, how precious
are the thoughts towards me, O God? If I should count them, they
are more than the numbers in the sand. That's more than, how
can you count them? You can't count them. When I
wake, I'm still with thee. Above all those magnificent,
if I just spent all day long time, passed out right now, and
all the benefits the Lord loadeth me with daily. I mean, you're
gonna run out of ink, and then you'll pass out. And you know
what's even more amazing than that? When you wake up the next
morning, it's still there. It's another day. He's loading
up with benefits. Solomon wrote this. Wise man,
wiser than us, we ought to listen to him. He said, this I recall
to my mind, therefore I have hope. It's of the Lord's mercies
that we're not consumed. Because his compassions fail
not. And they're new every morning.
Great is thy faithfulness. His mercies are new every morning.
We're loaded daily with. His benefits are new every morning.
His compassions are new every morning. And his faithfulness
is consistent, like it's brand new every morning. You see, we ain't got a hand
in all this. Are we mentioned anywhere? I tried to think of
as many benefits as I could. and then I had to delete about
25 of them. So this is not an inclusive list. This is not all encompassing,
okay? We're giving God's word. You don't have to memorize nothing.
You don't have to say it wrong. I've been given, for my whole
life, I want to know as many gospel churches and where they
are and what city and who pastors them. That's just something the
Lord laid on me from birth. And we forget easy, don't we?
That one right there ain't no different. Ask her, hey, where's
that? She'll tell you. She'll give
you a list of how far it is and draw you a map. I want to know
those things. And that's important to me, and
the Lord gave me a mind to do that. But we don't have to take
my word for it, or her word for it, or somebody else's word for
it. We have it written down somewhere, don't we? You can Google it,
talk to other people. But more important than that, hearing
the word from God. You think that's something I
can memorize where everybody is. This word, it's not what you, I'm
gonna do this as plain as I can in the scripture reading today.
God's not mocked. Now what's the context of that?
We say that, what's context of it? To set up plainly. We can
go look. God gave us his, here's what
it says. It's in your hand. You can go
down to Walmart and buy it cheap, for pennies. Don't cost much
at all, and we have it. And it's not like, it's not only
in Latin, like in the not so days of old. Remember, he used
to be in Latin, and then he had to go through another man that
could translate it, because you couldn't read Latin. Whatever language, pick one.
It's in Cherokee. We had a brother translate it.
You know that? Down in North Carolina. It's
not very expensive. Like that Gutenberg Bible from
that Gutenberg press, the word press. God gave a man the ability
to make a word press so he could, we could mass produce books.
There's 50 of them left. You know how much they cost a
piece? What if that's all the Bible's left? We'd have to learn German
and you'd have to come up, scrounge up about $35 million. to get
a Gutenberg Bible. It's not expensive. And we have
it. You get large print for spare change. You got it on your phone.
You can get it on a Kindle, on whatever. Everybody's got one
in their pocket. And if you don't have it downloaded
on your phone, you can Google it. Look up anything you want. Verbatim, the word of God. We
have it physically, don't we? But that benefit ain't gonna
do nobody no good. When the Lord comes, you could
build you a house made out of nothing but King James Version Bibles
and it ain't gonna do you a lick of good. We've been daily given
a desire to know the true and living God and to understand
his word. Isn't that amazing? Are we thankful to God for that?
Not everybody cares. They're like, ah, I read some
verses one time. People carry Bibles around, the
outside's wore out and the inside's so fresh, the pages are still
stuck together. They ain't never opened it. People say, I believe
my Bible. I know my Bible. You ever read
it? It's in English. Let not the wise man glory in
his wisdom, neither the mighty in his might. Let not the rich
man glory in his riches, but him that glorieth, let him glory
in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me. I'm the Lord
which exercises. I perform all of it. Full range
of motion, love and kindness. judgment, righteousness in the
earth for these things I delight, saith the Lord. That's something
to be thankful. Well, how can we understand him?
What Ethiopian eunuchs say? How can I know these things?
Philip said, you understand what you're reading? He said, how
can I unless a man tell me? I'm so thankful. Some of you
are too. I'm so thankful for the man the
Lord sent me to preach the gospel to me. That's his ascension gift. Paul was speaking, that's the
context of it in Ephesians 4. He's speaking about him who ascended
up on high, led captivity captive. He gave some gifts unto men. In the ascension of Christ leaving
this world, he said, I ain't leaving you orphans. You ain't
gonna be comfortless. That's what that means. I'm gonna
leave you some gifts. What are they, Paul? Let's not
forsake these gifts. He gave some apostles. Boy, I'm
thankful for them. I love Brother, like Joe said,
I love Brother Spurgeon, but what book of the Bible did he
write? He's a man, like me. He has faults. Oh, Brother Don,
I love Brother Don. He's a man, like me. He's fallible. He gave us apostles that gave
us the New Testament. The witness of God on this earth
and the witness of him coming again. And we have a physical
copy of it. And he gave us somebody, some
prophets and evangelists and some pastors and teachers. He
sent me somebody to tell me this, just like that Ethiopian eunuch
was sent Philip. He didn't send a DVD. He didn't
send a series of self-help books. He sent a man. And I'm thankful
for it. Why would he do that? He sent
himself as a man. If that's good enough for God,
that's good enough for me. Don't take these things lightly.
I don't want to, and God will have to help me and he'll have
to give me lips to praise him, to thank him for it, I understand that.
It's a gift, it's a daily benefit, and it can be taken away like
that. It was last week, wasn't it? It was the week before that,
wasn't it? God help us, he don't do it this week. He'd daily give
us these. He'd loathe us. And for the perfecting
of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying
of the body of Christ, how long we have that, Lord? If we're
a part of your body, you may move your candlestick, but how
long we have it? Till all come in the unity of faith. He ain't
gonna lose one. Don't forget that. He ain't gonna
move something. Well, there's some sheep down
there. We got most of them. We're loath daily, loath daily
with the gifts of the spirit, aren't we? What are those? The
gifts of the spirit. I'll get the fruits in a second.
First Corinthians 12, we read that wisdom, knowledge, faith. We have faith. That's a gift
of God. God gave us faith. What's that? We just believe
him. People write books and books and books about it. Just believe
God. He said it. That's so good enough for me.
Wise. Wise to what? Look to Christ
our wisdom. Healing. How's that? A great
physician. What about this body? Who cares
about the body? The mode of death that I experience makes no matter
to me. I'd prefer it be something nice
and peaceful and wonderful or something like that. But if it's
something violent and terrible, so be it. The second it's over,
I'm with the Lord. Miracles. We can't perform miracles
no more. Told you, I can't lay on top
of you and raise you from the dead. Stay with me now. What
miracles do we still have? Those that our Lord listed are
miracles. Go show John what you see and hear. The poor have a
gospel preached to them. And he's put that in our hand
to do. And I pray we aren't lackadaisical about it. And I'm not either,
I can labor. And you too. Discerning the spirits. That's a gift, that's a benefit.
You hear a gospel message and you don't have to articulate
the systematic approach as to why it's wrong. You just go,
mm, that ain't right. And then you hear the gospel
and you say, that's it. That's it. Can you articulate to me,
can the thief on the cross tell me about all these, the unconditional,
he didn't need to. He says, that's the Lord, I know
him. He chose me. I didn't need to get chose. He
wanted to. He can do what he wants. He's
the king of the kingdom. He knew that, didn't he? Some are bilingual there in 1
Corinthians 12 still. They wake up every day still
speaking Spanish or French or whatever they can. We're loaded
with the fruits of the Spirit too. The fruits of the Spirit
are love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
meekness, temperance, and against such there's no law. I saw a believer get attacked
recently. They were getting on, somebody's getting on to him
and said, you need to execute all of these and do these. And that believer said, you know
what? I can't do any of them, but thanks
be to God, Christ done them for me. He's the one that's love. He's the one that something to
be joyful about. He's the one that gives peace.
And you know, to proclaim Christ as the doer of each of these
things or any precept really, do you know that is to be that
precept? I was talking with a fellow preacher the other day about
that. To say that Christ has done all of that is to do it. That's doing it. The very fact
that we can't and he has, that's doing it. That's loving Him. Say, He first loved us. That's
joining Him. Say, how in the world would He
look on me? How would He, how could He find me beloved to be
a bride? That true peace and rest is to
say, He's our peace. He's our rest. It's long suffering
to say that, to look to somebody that's trying to pick a fight
with you and say, Christ is long suffering. That's being long
suffering to them instead of chopping their head off. Fist
fought them in a parking lot, didn't it? It's as gentle as it can get.
It's good. And we believe God to do so.
And that's being meek and that's temperance. And do it all you
want. Proclaim him all you want. Give
him all the glory all you want. Proverbs 10 says the lips of
the righteous feed many. I pray that's what's happening
today. I pray those that have a thirst, that's a benefit too,
isn't it? Being thirsty for righteousness,
hungering for righteousness. Lips of the righteous feed many,
but fools die for one of wisdom. They keep looking after, they
find as many teachers as they can, as many different places
as they can see the one that God sent. And they heap about
them and they never get full, do they? It's what scripture
say, word says it. The blessing. There in Proverbs
10, 22, that means prosperity there, not nailing. Prosperity,
the blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich and he hath no sorrow
with it. What's our true blessing? The
blessed man, is having the blessed man. The Lord gave his son to
us. Now there's some persecution
and all those things, but that balm of Gilead comes on us and
it ain't sorrow. It ain't sorrow. I don't weep
for all those things, because that's not my desire, he is.
He is. Turn over to Ephesians 1. I encourage
you to go read this today, but we'll look at it briefly. We'll look at the benefits here
that we're loaded with daily by the Lord as to why we ought
to kneel and be thankful to Him. But notice every one of these
benefits in Ephesians 1 are in Christ. In Christ. Ephesians 1.3, Blessed be the
God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, kneel to Him, worship
Him, who hath blessed us, who hath prospered us with all spiritual
blessings in heavenly places in Christ. That's where this
is going to take place. According as He hath chosen us, He's a
God of election, and He chose us. He chose a people, and we're
one of them. He chose us, in Him, in Christ,
before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy
and without blame before Him in love, having predestinated
us unto, here's a benefit, the adoption of children. We're brought
into the kingdom. We're children of the King. were
adopted by Jesus Christ to himself according to the good pleasure
of his will, because he wanted to, to the praise of the glory
of his grace, wherein he hath, here's a benefit, made us accepted. A place has been prepared for
us, a place of atonement. Does that make you wake up on
the right side of the bed? We won't go through this world
grouchy and being mean to our neighbors. What we got to be mean about?
We're accepted by God that we offended and cursed and spit
in His face. Because of Christ, He's done this. In whom? Verse 7, we have redemption.
We're redeemed. The forgiveness of sins through
His blood. How much? How much redemption
is there? Can we wear it out? We don't
want to. I don't want sin no more. I know
me. How much according to the riches
of his grace? How big is his wallet, Mike?
It's a thick one, isn't it? According to his riches. Here's another benefit. Verse
8, wherein he hath abounded toward us and all wisdom improves. He
sent the Holy Ghost to us to make these things true to us
and to say he's right. That's a benefit, isn't it? Having
made known unto us the mystery of his will. We know the will
of God. He's going to glorify His Son. Everything's going to
be for our good. I don't know how. I don't know
what's going to come fast. Yet so, I know so, according
to the good pleasure which He hath purposed in Himself. That's
for Him to know it. He might reveal some things to
us. Verse 10, that in the dispensation of the fullness of time, that
means throughout time, not different dispensations in the Old Testament
God and New Testament God. That's foolishness. Don't listen
to people that talk like that. But every day, that's what our
text says, isn't it? He loatheth us daily. He dispenses. Well, he owns it. We'll see it
in a second. He owns it. It's his. And he gives it out
as he sees fit. In the dispensation of the fullness
of time, he might gather together. Does that mean leave off by themselves?
He says, gather together. I'm gonna keep pounding it though.
The people tuning in or somebody hears it, right? This world needs
to hear that, what the Lord says. He's gathered together in one,
all things in Christ, which are both in heaven. Well, we'll all
be together in glory. That's true. And, does it say
and? Which are on this earth in him. Those that are in him will be
gathered together on this earth in him. Now it might be two. Lord sent Moses and Aaron, we'll
look at next hour, to a whole nation to deliver them, to bring
them out, send two preachers, that's it. They might just be
two, but they'll be gathered together. In whom we have attained
an inheritance. We've been benefited daily with
this inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him
who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will,
that we should be to the praise of his glory who first trusted
in Christ. The father trusted in his son.
What a glorious thing. In whom ye also trusted. After
that ye heard the word of truth. You didn't trust him before you
heard. You trust him after you heard. You didn't know him to
trust him. The gospel of your salvation. Well, what's that
gospel? In whom? It's a person. Also you have
believed, you were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise,
which is the earnest, that's the down payment of our inheritance,
until the redemption of the purchased possession to the praise of His
glory. It says there, that's one of
the benefits too. And this is all wrapped up, I told you, in
Christ. Every benefit we have that's loathed daily is in Him.
And it says in verse 12, we should be to the praise of His glory
who first trusted in Christ. I'm gonna tell you, that's a
God-like thing to do. You want to be godly in this
world? You want to be spiritual in this world? Or something else?
Trust Christ. Trust Christ. Not yourself. Not anything about you or anybody
you know. Trust Him. Over in Job 15, he
says, What is man that he should be clean? And he which is born of a woman
that he should be righteous. That's the context. Righteousness. Behold, he's speaking of the
Lord. He putteth no trust in his saints. I'm worried about my righteousness.
I'm gonna mess it up. Yeah, God didn't trust you. It's
given to you. It ain't in your hands. He don't
trust you. Well, who'd he trust? His son.
He trusted Christ. For what? Your righteousness,
for your redemption, for your wisdom, for your sanctification.
So what should we do? Trust Christ. Don't trust yourself. We know that, don't we? I just
thought that's precious. I heard that. Somebody quoted
that to this. I'm going to look that up. And I run inside. I
was out walking. I went and looked it up and ran to Kimberly. I
said, stop doing what you're doing. I want to read you something. Why should
I trust me? Lord, don't. Why should I trust
Christ? The Lord does. There in Psalm 68, verse 19. Blessed be the Lord who daily
loatheth us with benefits. The God of our salvation, the
one that saved us, the one that came to this earth and lived
for us and died for us, Selah. Stop and think about that. Like
David said, write them down. Count them. You can't. You can't. Shouldn't we? Don't that make
you kneel? Don't that make you thank him? Everything he's done? How can this be? Verse 19 is
speaking of all these benefits, and it tells us to pause. How
can we know? How can we know? Paul said this
in Romans 8. You know it, Will. What shall
we say to these things? If God be for us, who can be
against us? He that spared not his own son, but delivered him
up for us all, all of us sons of Jacob, how shall he not with
him also freely give us all things? How can he not give us all benefits? Whatever we need, we'll lack
nothing. Who shall lay the charge in any of God's elect? God that justifies. Who's he
that condemneth? It's Christ that died, yea, rather
is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also
maketh intercession for us. Boy, that's a daily benefit,
isn't it? Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? And
he lists a lot of things there, too. Ain't nothing. Nothing. Verse 20 there in Psalm 68. He
that is our God, is the God of salvation. Our God is God. And
unto God, the Lord, belong the issues from death. I'm already at time, but I'm
gonna try to go quick. I gotta touch this first. The
issues of death. Is that issues in death? Yes. When saints die, the death of
saints, that's in the Lord's hands. It
belongs to Him. It's His. All the issues we have
in death, that's the Lord's. He owns it. Paul told us, he
said, will rise with them. And in the
death of unbelievers, you know, Abraham prayed for Sodom, didn't
he? He knew Lot was down there. Lot's wife and their girls. And he pleaded with Lord. He
said, Lord, if they'll be 50 righteous, if they'll be 40 righteous,
if they'll be 30, if they'll be 20, if they'll be 10. He says
in Genesis 18, 25, be it far from me that in this matter,
for you to slay the righteous with the wicked. Will that happen,
Lord? You can reverse that. Will you
save the wicked with those that's righteous? Will one sneak in
on you? And that the righteous should be as the wicked? Be it
far from thee. Shall not the judge of the earth do right?
What's the context Abraham's talking about? It's comfort.
Just as sure as the Lord will execute holy justice to those
that will not bow or kneel to the Lord Jesus Christ as the
only acceptable gift and sacrifice that God will accept. Just as
surely as he will execute justice in that, is the same measure
of surety he will preserve those vessels of honor that he's made.
You get that? That's hand in hand. Just as
sure as he will not lose one, We can be sure he's holy and
just and will execute judgment. He will do right. Right. Not
what we want, what we think is right. What he does is right. He's going to do it. He'll perform
it. All people have fear of death. They're in the right, what we
call the right mind. It's an unknown experience, but
that grave's conquered for us, isn't it? For those that believe,
you ain't afraid to take a nap. There was a time I was afraid
to go sleep at night, what dreams that come with it, but you take
a nap in the middle of the day, you don't say, oh, I don't know,
I keep taking a nap. That's a nap. Lay down and close
your eyes. You hope you get one, don't you?
Nor should the believer fear closing their eyes in death.
And we've been made to kneel daily to worship him. We believe
him for his promises. That's when he's talking to Martha.
And he said, your brother's gonna rise again. She said, oh, I know,
at that last day, resurrection, he'll rise up out of the grave.
I know that. I believe some stuff. Well, she's about to believe
some more stuff, isn't she? The Lord said, I'm the resurrection
and the life. And he that believeth in me,
though he were dead, he shall live. And whosoever liveth and
believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? You believe
that? She said unto him, Yea, Lord,
I believe thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which shall come
into the world, your him. But those are issues in death,
right? That's the issues we have with
death. But the word here says, salvation belongs to the Lord,
God the Lord. That's Christ, ask Thomas, my
God and my Lord. The issues from death. from death. I don't hear much preaching about
that. If you tune on the radio or any program on the radio in
this place, I ain't heard nothing. Or in literature produced at
hospitals or wherever. I ain't seen none of it. I ain't
seen no bumper stickers about issues. But mankind, all of this
race of Adam, has some issues with the God the Lord. the Lord
our God, the one on his throne, the holy one of Israel. Issues
from death. Issues from death. From what
death? Issues from life and the way you're living? Yeah, you're
living away from your death. That's what it is. It says in
Romans 5, wherefore, as by one man sinned in the world, and
death by sin, so death passed upon all men, for all have sinned.
Therefore, as by the offense of one judgment came upon all
men, to condemnation, even so by the righteousness of one.
The free gift come upon all men unto justification of life. For
as by one man's disobedience, many were made sinners, so by
the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. In Adam, we
all died. We have an issue from that death.
And thanks be to God, it's in his hand to do out as he sees
fit the issues from Christ's death, who willingly laid down
his life so we'd be made the righteousness of God in him. We see every day. Ain't that
something? Verse 19 again. Blessed be the
Lord. Kneel to him. Bow to him. He made prostrate
before him, who daily loatheth us with benefits, even the God
of our salvation. Think about it. How could that
be so? Because his son died for us. He that is our God is the God
of salvation. And unto God the Lord belong
the issues from death. Let's pray together. Lord, thank you for the benefit
of your word, the benefit you've given us to gather together and
bring us with eager hearts that thirst for righteousness to hear
of Christ our righteousness. Lord, let this be the attitude
of your children. Make the praise of him come from
our lips in our walk through this world. Lord, when we see
these things, we know it, and it's precious to us. Make it precious day in and day
out, Lord, until you've brought us home. Forgive us our sin,
this body of death that we're housed in. Lord, keep us by your
faithfulness as you promised you will. It's because of Christ
we ask it. Amen. All right, Brad, we'll
meet back about 1035.
