Good preparation for this study. Matthew 24. I believe some of you have looked
forward to this, as I have. Let's read verses 1 through 3. And we will look at this chapter
in several parts, probably, at least three parts. All right,
let's read verses 1 through 3. And Jesus went out, departed
from the temple, and his disciples came to him. or to show him the
buildings of the temple. And Jesus said unto them, See
ye not all these things? Verily I say unto you, there
shall not be left here one stone upon another that shall not be
thrown down. And as he sat upon the mouth
of olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell
us, when shall When shall these things be? And what shall be
the sign of thy coming and of the end of the world? Now, since our Lord is going
to deal with the end of the world, that makes this more than just
an interesting study, doesn't it? Honestly, I mean, this is not
just a Bible study and something interesting to look at. He's
dealing with the end. And in the words of Moses' song,
open Deuteronomy 32, oh, that they were wise and would consider
or keep in mind or always be thinking of their latter end. The latter end, which could come
at any moment. Right? Any moment. Whenever God's Word is read and
preached, it's always serious, isn't it? I'll give you a few
very sobering thoughts why we should listen to every message
carefully and prayerfully and seriously. Number one, Surely there is someone in here,
in this very room, who does not know Jesus Christ. And there is probably someone
in here who will miss Christ, who professes Him, but will or
may leave at some point. Our Lord warns of that here in
this chapter, down in verse 20, or verse 12. Verse 12 and 13, iniquity shall
abound, and the love of many shall wax cold. And he that shall
endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. And another reason
this is very serious indeed and worth paying close attention
to is someone in here will die. If the Lord does not come back,
someone in here will die pretty soon. That's right. And so, Christ's
return, either in the end of the world or for us, will be
pretty soon. There's no doubt about that. But Christ's return, whether
it be in our death or his actual coming, will be good. supremely good for those who
know Christ, for those who are in Christ, but not so with those outside
of Christ. And so we need to approach this
study, as I said, more than just a Bible study, but we need to
approach it with those things in mind. We need to approach
it with this attitude. What does the end of the world
mean to me? What does that mean? Will it
be the end. Or just the beginning. What's
going to be one of the others. So that's the way we should approach
it. It is very interesting. It. It. Sparks the interest or tweaks
the interest of everybody. Whenever you mention Matthew
24 when our Lord deals with the end times everybody's interested
in that. I could have got a big crowd had I put it in the newspaper,
quite sure of it. But the coming of Christ is terrible. The scriptures call it a great
and dreadful day, a terrible day of the Lord for those who
don't know him, for those who don't know why he came the first
time and aren't really interested in that. So this is a serious
study, it is. As with every passage we look
at all right the disciples. In verse one we're impressed
with the buildings of the temple. At this time there were still
quite a few temple buildings and the temple was itself stood. The temple had been kind of torn
down in various times and rebuilt at various times. But it was
still there. And the disciples were impressed
with the temple, and they wanted to give the Lord a tour. I have
to laugh at this every time I think of it. The Lord left heaven. And they just were so forgetful,
weren't they? Well, so are we. We're impressed,
aren't we? We're impressed. Easily impressed. Well, our Lord was unimpressed
with anything and anyone. I admire that so much about him,
don't you? But he was unimpressed with anything man made. And so
he tells them, verse 2, see not all these things, all these things. And he says that to them and
he says it to us. Verily, or truly, I say unto you, I say
unto you, there shall not be left here one stone upon another
that shall not be thrown down. Now, our Lord He's talking about
the destruction of that temple, that building. That happened
forty years later. Forty-one or so years later,
or thirty-some years, thirty-nine years later. And he's also talking
about, he's talking to us, whatever he wrote to them, said to them,
applies to us now, doesn't it? It's relevant. There's not going
to be one stone in this building left standing. Or the homes we
live in. Or anything. Anything. It's all coming down. Going to
be thrown down. Do we have, so I asked, so I,
that introduction I gave, so I asked do we have a building
not made with hands in the heavens that cannot be and will not be
thrown down. It's eternal. In the head. You
know what I'm talking about some of you. So it behooves us to
know do we have a building like that. A real temple. All right. So the Lord heads
to Mount Olive Mount of Olives. This is where he spent a great
deal of time. He liked to go there. Must have
been a beautiful place. Tranquil place quiet place where
he spent a lot of time. I believe he slept there quite
a bit. He didn't have a roof over his head. He didn't own
a home. That's what he said. The son of man hath not where
to lay his head. But this was the place he loved to go. The
Mount of Olives, a mountain full of olive trees. And he resorted
there often with his disciples. When he went there, a little
time went by between, well, their journey up the mountain anyway. And he went up there and sat
down. Can you imagine what the disciples were thinking the whole
way up? Well, after what he said to them,
it was a general rebuke, wasn't it? A general rebuke and admonition,
because they were impressed with the building. Look at this. Isn't
this beautiful? And he told them it's all coming
down. And he walked off and started heading up that mountain. And
they all walked along in silence for a while, didn't they? And
every one of them were thinking the same thing. Wonder when? Wonder when it's going to be?
So are you. You're thinking the same thing.
All right. So they say to him in verse three, privately, they
came to him privately, saying, tell us, when shall these things
be? What shall be the sign of thy
coming at the end of the world? Tell us when this destruction
of the temple and the sign of thy coming and When everything
will be destroyed, tell us. Then the Lord answered and said
unto them, verse four. First thing he says to them is
a warning. Take heed that no man deceive
you. That's the first thing the Lord
said. Why did he say that? Because verse five, look at it.
He says, For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ,
and shall deceive many. Take heed, take great care, be
very watchful, very careful that you be not deceived by any man,
because many will come in my name and will deceive many. Well, look down at verse twenty
four. Now, he mentions false prophets. Verse eleven, verse
eleven, look at that many false prophets shall rise and shall
deceive many, and I reminded you often that when the Lord
says many people. He has the stars numbered. We
can't number the sands of the seashore, can we? He does. And if he says many that's a
lot of people and what's to keep me from being one of the men.
So that you know there are many people to see. So he said war
in verse twenty four there shall arise false Christ and false
prophets and show great signs and wondered in so much that
if it were possible. They will deceive the very elect
they're going to deceive so many people. By their smooth words, fair speeches,
signs and wonders, and this and that and the other, that so many
people will be deceived, and if it were possible, they would
deceive the very elect. So, you see why he says that?
The first thing, out of his mouth. Don't be deceived. Look with
me at 2 Thessalonians, chapter 2. And, you know, this may go
out over the airwaves, I don't know. If it does, it would be
appropriate, wouldn't it? So many listen to these. And, boy, it's certainly necessary
to first say, don't be deceived. Don't be deceived. Second Thessalonians
2, the apostles elaborated on everything the Lord said. That's
what the epistles are all about. You know, the epistles are not
something new. The epistles, are what the Lord
taught them and they went in more detail about. And the epistles
are to the church. OK the epistles are to the churches. And that's important. All right
so second Thessalonians two verse three the apostle Paul who wrote
more epistles than any other man by God's spirit. He says the same thing concerning
the Lord's coming. The people apparently had heard
rumor that the Lord's day was at hand, that Thessalonians apparently
heard that somebody said the Lord was coming soon. Well, he
says, don't let anybody trouble you. Verse three, let no man
deceive you by any means. But that day shall not come except
there come a falling away first. And that man of sin be revealed,
the son of perdition, and down in verse ten talks about with
all the sea wilderness. So he said there'll be a falling
away first. Now, the gospel has got to go
out of this when Paul said that, when Paul wrote that, when our
Lord said the gospel has got to go to all the world. There's not a falling away from
error. It's falling away from truth.
And the truth started right there in Jerusalem. Yes, it did. Right there in that Middle East.
And spread all over the world. Well, it left Jerusalem. And
we've seen before how it went to Asia and other places. And it left there. Falling away. All the churches in Asia, Laodicea,
Ephesus and so on, Philippi, gone. And then went over into
Europe and various places and established. Gone. And went over
and gone. Gone. Said, does it work? Does
it work? Does it work? Until it's done
all its work. And it's gone. Time. So he says,
let no man deceive you first. Well, I thought about that. Now
go back to the text. I thought about this he said take he didn't
know man to see if you're going to be deceived to be a man. I don't think any of you will
be received by a woman but. You know that much maybe by the
man by man. I thought about this and it needs
to be said how. How can we keep from being deceived?
How will we be kept from being deceived? Well, a few ways. Prayer. Prayer, the scriptures talks
about watch unto prayer. Prayer makes you watchful. Keeps
you on your spiritual feet. Keeps your spiritual eyes open.
Makes you watchful. You're looking to the Lord who
alone can keep you from falling. See? He's the only one that can
keep us from being deceived. He said, My sheep hear my voice,
and a stranger they'll not follow. A stranger. So He's the only
one. So we call upon Him. Lord, don't let me be deceived. Don't let anyone deceive me.
I'm a sheep. I'm liable to go astray like
a sheep, Lord. Secondly, scripture right here,
what we're doing right here, this is the best protection against
being deceived. If you're immersed in God's word.
Because the word of God exposes error, it exposes all false prophets. If you keep a man's feet to the
fire. You'll expose him. It'll come out, it's your will.
You keep your eyes open, the scriptures. The entrance of thy
word giveth light, understanding. If you're immersed in God's word,
no man's going to deceive you with it, by it. Had Eve listened
carefully to what the Lord said, she would have known that Satan
was twisting it. Right? OK. And you know deceivers by
their fruit. By their fruit. Examine their
fruit. All right, get back here in our text in verse five. So
he says, many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ and
shall deceive many. Many shall come in my name, in
the name of Jesus. Now, this you can look at this
two way, both way. It applies both way. There will
be many who come saying that they are the Christ. That's sure,
our Lord said there will be false Christs, false Messiahs, false
deliverers, false Uh, leaders like, well, Buddha, uh, uh, and
others, Mohammed men like the others and, and, uh, New Testament
times on and on it goes. Uh, Joseph Smith, who started
that, uh, what is it? I'll get them mixed up. He did
a Mormon. He's the one that started that. And, uh, Charles Russell. He's one started the Jehovah's
Witnesses. And on and on it goes. These men are false messiahs,
you know, were false messiahs. But they're also, this also means,
in the same thought, there were many coming in Jesus' name saying
that he's the Christ. Many will come in Jesus' name,
because he said that back in Matthew 7. He said many will
say unto him in that day, Lord, Lord, we preached in your name. And he called them workers of
iniquity. Many will come in Jesus' name, saying that he is the Christ,
saying he's the son of God. Right? Doesn't nearly all of
so-called professed Christianity today say that he's the Christ
and the son of God? Don't they? You know of any that
say that he's not the son of God. You know of any? I don't. Do you know of any so-called
Christian religion, be it Catholicism, Mormonism, Jehovah's Witness,
whatever it is, that denies that Jesus is the Christ? Any? So that applies, doesn't it?
They certainly say that. Paul said this, they will come
preaching another Jesus. And we have not preached, he
said. Another gospel, he said, which is not the gospel, you
see, and this is when it's so close sometimes. And so this
has been going on from early time, from the first century,
because Paul wrote again there in 2 Thessalonians 2, he said,
the mystery of iniquity doth already work. Now it's already
at work. And John wrote again in 1 John
2, he said, you've heard that Antichrist will come. Well, even
now, there are many Antichrist. Now, that was then that was back
in 60 A.D. Just 20 or 30 years after the
Lord left this earth, John said, it's now it's already here. It's already here, so this has
always been. Does Satan deceive with the word,
with God's word in the beginning? And he's been doing it ever since. And even now, the same deceiver,
that is Satan himself, has many ministers who deceive in the
name of Jesus. Now, that's how crafty he is.
He's crafty. He knows that the simple minded
are going to fall for anything that's in the name of Jesus.
He's correct. He knows that. If you just say
anything in the name of Jesus, if you call it gospel, if you're
reading from the Bible and you call it in Jesus' name, call
it gospel, people are going to fall for it. He knows that. He
knows that. All right. Here are some keys
to understanding what the Lord is saying here. All right. This is for believers, that is.
The Lord certainly has The Holy Spirit has to give us understanding,
right? You know that. God hath abounded. Paul wrote in Ephesians 1. Oh,
thank God he's abounded toward us, having in all wisdom and
prudence made known unto us the mystery of his will. That's talking
to believers. God's got to reveal this to us.
I'm not saying there's a magical key for anybody to understand.
Which we understand by the Spirit of God, if he gives us understanding. But here's three things that
he makes us to, we need to know. We need to know when our Lord
said this. This was 2,000 years ago. All right, when he was saying
these things, we need to know what event he's talking about. I've been ignorant of this in
the past, I've looked at things he said and applied it to the
wrong era, the wrong whenever or whatever. Most of these things that he
says have already come to pass. This is where so many go astray. Here's another thing, Brother
Roy. You know, the United States is the seat of false religion. And. That and wrong here and
wrong, but, you know, in U.S., Americans think that this is
New Jerusalem or something. Yeah, they think that the whole
thing, Christ's second coming and the kingdom of Christ and
all that revolves around the United States of America. They
think his coming that this everything hinges on this nation. This nation
hadn't even existed for just a drop in the bucket in time.
Has it? And compared to the world population. China has more people and about
a quarter of that nation we do. This place is nothing but dropping
the bucket. He doesn't hinge on this nation. This nation is not the key to
it all. No, it's not. This is not New Jerusalem. OK? OK. So we need to understand
that our Lord said this 2000 years ago. Now turn with me to
Revelation 1. Revelation 1. And I'm going to take my time
through this. We're going to compare scripture with scripture.
Revelation 1. Most of you have seen these things
before, seen, you know, these things before, but I want to
remind you. Let's read what the Lord Jesus
Christ, God through Christ, gave to John to write down in the
Revelation. Most people know this is the
book which tells of the end. OK. And you and I have been reminded
before many times what this book is about. The title is all wrong. That title was added by the translators,
and they got it wrong. It says, The Revelation of Saint
John the Divine. That is wrong, people. The first
verse tells us it is the revelation of Jesus Christ. It's not the revelation of of
John, St. John the Divine. What do you
think he would have thought had he read that by his name, St. John the Divine? Remember, he
never mentioned his name. He never would mention his name.
When John wrote, he never would mention his name. He said, the
disciple whom Jesus loved. He didn't like the sound of his
own name. And they called him St. John the Divine. He would
have rent his mantle with him. This is a revelation of Jesus
Christ, look at it, which God gave. John didn't give this,
John received it. It's a revelation to Saint John
of Danai. And it's a revelation of a person. I've brought this, we've thought
about this before, that God didn't write 65 books. All of them about one subject.
And then change it. In the last chapter. Have you
ever read a book with sixty six chapters? That's how many books
there are in the Bible. Sixty six. Have you ever read a book
with sixty six chapters and you read sixty five chapters on this
story and then all of a sudden it's a whole different story?
Never. God didn't change the subject either. This book is
the gospel, and you and I went through it years ago, and maybe
we'll do it again someday, and I've got to go on. But this is
the revelation or the story of the person and work of the Lord
Jesus Christ, and it's not just about future things. Look at
this. He said in verse 1, he gave it unto Christ to show unto
his servants, John being one of them, things which must shortly
come to pass. Now, read it carefully. Things
which must shortly. Shortly. Come to pass, no, that
was 2000 years ago. Did you read that? All right,
look down at verse 19. Christ is still talking, he says,
now, right, right, the things here's what John is going to
write about throughout this book. You have it, verse 19, right,
the things which thou hast seen. What's that mean? Past. Things
that have already happened. We're going to rewrite them,
some of them. We're going to recount some of them. So some
of that, some of this, had happened before this. You understand? All right, keep on. And the things
which are. Are you with me? Not with me,
I didn't write that with the Lord yet. the things that were
happening at that moment one eight of the things at that present
time two thousand years ago. All right you're going to write
the things which have come to pass things that already happen
things which are happening at that moment and things which
shall be here at least two thirds done. That makes sense to you. I go back to our tech. So most of what is in revelation
has already come to pass as is the case in Matthew twenty four.
Now I say this. If God has hid the gospel has
hid the truth from the wise and approved it and he has that's
what he said. And if I don't think that's going
to because they receive not the love of the truth. God sends
them strong delusions. God sends a strong will to believe
a lot and to say that you've read it. If God has hid these things from
most. That is the gospel. That's the best thing we need
to know. We don't need to know when Christ is coming. And we don't know. We don't know
the day or hour. No man knows. No matter how we
study this, we won't find out the day or the hour. Day meaning,
I believe, year. Day, I believe, stands for year.
We're not going to know. Nobody knows. Our Lord said that,
so quit trying to figure it out. The important thing, the vital
thing that we know is not when he's coming or the events that
lead up to his coming, it's that we know him. And what will it matter when
you. So. The Lord is here, you know,
true people reject the truth. Reject the story above all, every
story, the story of God's son, what the whole book is about,
it's about Christ. There are stories of his first
coming, leading up to his coming. And what that's all about is
somebody wonderful is coming. He sees life, he's light, he's
holiness, he's the son of God, he's healing in his wing, righteousness,
salvation itself, he's coming. Refiner is fire, fuller is soap,
the Lord whom you seek, he's coming, that's who you ought
to seek, that's who you need to know. He's coming, but men say, oh
no, we're not interested in that. So if men aren't interested in
that, you think God's going to reveal any prophecy to them?
Huh? If they don't know the first
thing about the truth, which is Christ, and they're not really
concerned about the truth and reject the truth, you think that
they have a clue about anything else? If preachers don't know the first
thing about God, if they're spewing out all their blasphemy about
God, Talking about a God who's not God, a man who's not dead,
and salvation doesn't save anybody, you think they have a clue about
when Christ is coming? They've all got books written
on the subject, don't they? They're all experts, and people
flock by the millions to buy them. That's those many deceivers. I'll tell you who you can listen
to is the man who's taken up with the Christ who's coming,
not so much the coming of the Christ. I mean, they don't have a clue
about what God has done. You know, I'm really interested
in what God is going to do, but it's more important that I know
what God has done and is doing right now. All right, go back to the text.
When did I start? What time? Oh, no. Oh, well. And trying to cut it
short, Sunday went thirty-eight minutes, so if it's cumulative,
then I'll get eight more minutes than that. Verse six, our Lord
says, so the first thing he says, beware, don't be deceived, don't
be deceived. So any of these people who claim, who don't preach
the gospel, they don't have a clue about prophecy. Don't listen
to them. Don't listen to them. Don't buy
their books. Don't listen to a word they're saying. They don't
have a clue. Does that make sense? Verse 6. So
he said, and he says, you shall hear of wars and rumors of war.
See that you be not troubled. Read on. All these things must
come to pass. The end is not yet. Nations shall
rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom. There shall
be famines, pestilence, earthquakes in different places. So, first
thing he says is you shall beware. Don't be deceived. And then he
says you're going to hear of wars and rumors of war. Don't
be troubled. These things must happen, must
come to pass. Nation against nation, kingdom
against kingdom. The end is not yet. He says, these are the beginning,
I'm sorry, just the beginning. This is the beginning. Our Lord
is talking about the beginning of the end. You know, with each great war
that has happened down through the years, men have thoughts,
this is it. Certainly the world wars and
over in Europe, you know, before there was a North America or
anybody knew about it, that was the world. OK, that was the world. And when somebody like Alexander
the Great came marauding through and Attila the Hun came roaring
through and just devastated, I thought, this is it, it's all
over. That's the great Antichrist. I all thought that, everyone
of us. When World War I came many years
later, everybody thought this is it, Armageddon is going to
happen somewhere, somehow, didn't they? World War II came, and
it all laid off, you know, raised his ugly head. Well, he's anti-Christ.
And everybody thought, well, this is it. So, you know, everybody, when
wars happen, and it was so in the beginning, the Lord is talking
to the disciples. And he says, you're going to
hear, you are going to hear of wars and rumors of war. And they
did. People, they heard the sound
The rumblings, they were under Rome, the rule of Rome. Rome
was the empire at that time. Paul was killed under Nero, this
great Roman emperor. And there were nations all over,
all around, wanting a piece of the pie. OK, so the kingdom nation,
they were all. And our Lord said to the disciple,
you're going to hear of wars and rumors of war. Our Lord is
talking right now about the destruction of Israel and Jerusalem. The next several verses, he's
going to talk about the destruction of Jerusalem and the temple,
not the end of the world. Remember, they asked him, what's
the sign of this? Our Lord said, not one stone
can be left standing on another. First thing they said, what's
the sign of it? When will this be? So he starts talking, Nancy,
about the destruction of Jerusalem. Got that? This is in the beginning. This is in the beginning. And
there around Rome at that time, there were wars and rumors of
war going on. Verse 7, there was famines. Go over to Acts chapter 11 with
me real quickly. Acts chapter 11. I'm trying.
I'm just dealing faithfully with the word here, and I know perhaps
you're tired and all, but you need to know these things.
You need to know what he's saying. Acts chapter 11. You know, there's some ladies
in here who are pregnant. Has verse 19 bothered you? Woe
unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck. Anybody? Be honest. Don't you want to
know what he's talking about? Okay. And there's been a lot of people
deceived. You're not going to be. I'm going to reveal the truth
to you. Pay attention. All right, what did I say? Go
to Acts 11. All right, the Lord talked about famine. Verse 28,
several years later, Verse twenty eight is set up one of the profits
from Jerusalem and Agabus and he signified by the spirit that
there should be great birth famine throughout all the world and
it came to pass in the days of Claudius Caesar. So that happened. Already have. And there have been many. These things continue. These
things continue. Our Lord said they do continue.
Nothing changes. Wars, rumors of wars, famines,
so on and so forth. But he's talking about in the
beginning here, all right? It's the beginning. Famine, then
pestilence. The Lord mentioned pestilence
back in our text. Pestilence, that's plagues and
diseases. There have been plagues and diseases on a yearly basis
since the beginning of time. I thought about this, that like
Egypt, remember Egypt experienced all those plagues? Can you name
the plagues? You learned them in Sunday school back in Southern
Baptist religion, didn't you, Rob? Can you name them? Well,
that's not important. What is important is that you
understand that God sent those on Egypt. Egypt didn't understand
that. Egypt, when it was happening,
they did not believe it was a judgment of God. And they don't today,
Stan. They still don't. They still
don't. The world is always Egypt is
always represented on and got the world unbelieving and God
still sending will that open people's right now. You're going
to hear of pestilence earthquakes when our Lord was crucified. When I was crucified. It's just
not there was an earthquake. It doesn't say it says that.
earth, the whole earth shook, which I believe is taken from
Psalm, is it 145? I didn't look it up. Such a,
Psalm 18, Psalm 18. But the whole earth shook. It
says the graves opened, the rocks were rent and the graves opened
and dead people came out. Did everybody believe because
of that? Will an earthquake make people
believe? No. They won't believe that one rose
from the dead. What will? What's the only thing that will? God's will. It's the only thing
that will give life. Open eyes. Only God. Earthquake
won't do it. It'll just make you move out
of San Francisco. Maybe. You might stay there. People
are foolish. They live on a fault line. Well, the beginning of
sorrows, our Lord said. These things are the beginning
of sorrow. Verse 8, and I close with this. These are the beginning
of sorrow. Most of these early things involved
the Jews. Now, here's an important thing
to consider. The Lord is foretelling first
the destruction of Jerusalem and the temple. That's what he first alluded
to. Remember, they said, when shall these things be? He said,
I'm going to tell you. In the beginning, the Lord told
his disciples, he said, go into all the world and preach the
gospel. He said, begin first at Jerusalem. Begin there first. Preach first to the lost sheep
of the house of Israel. That's where you're going to
start. And so they did. That's the only place the apostles
preached and Paul. Remember, Paul came along, he
was the apostle to the Gentiles. And Paul, remember, remember
when Paul was preaching and finally the Jews said, we'll not have
any of this. And he said, I'm going to the Gentiles. And so when God did his work
there, He said, OK. This place is going to be destroyed. And it's the same principle,
isn't it? When God does his work throughout the world. And when
there's a great falling away and then rejected. I'm done. So that's the principle. It started
in Jerusalem. It started there. And so the
Lord said this, the Jews are going to Experience great tribulations
such as nobody's ever seen. That's what he's talking about.
We're going to see in our next study, and there were nine or
ten, I forget how many great persecutions throughout the first
three or four hundred years of the early church. They call them
the great persecution. The great persecution. That first
three or four hundred years, believing believers. Most of
them were Jews who had gone out and dispersed because, you know,
Rome, remember they were persecuted and they went out all over. That's how the Jews got spread
out all over the world. When Jerusalem was destroyed
and the temple was destroyed and Jews were being killed and
they went out all over, that's how Jews got all over the world.
That's how they got there. Our Lord said, we're going to
begin there and we're going to destroy them. The beginning of
sorrow for the Jews who first rejected Christ. Oh, and there's
going to be persecution, tribulation that such has never been seen
before. Do you know of a more persecuted people than the Jews?
And then sorrows for the world. Later on, the Lord is going to
end up talking about sorrows for the world who also rejects
Christ eventually. But I thought it is. I'm talking
about the beginning of sorrows. Let me end this on a real good
note. He said this is the beginning
of sorrow. But for God's people. If you trust Christ, he's not
going to be sorrowful for you. In the world, you'll have tribulations.
It'll be a good cheer, he said. All right, next Sunday, we're
going to look at verses 9 through 28, if you want to write that
down. This Sunday, this coming Sunday. Verses 9 through 28,
we'll look at the persecution of the believers and the destruction
of Jerusalem and this abomination of desolation. He tells us here
in this chapter, he said, let him that read, understand. He
doesn't understand what Daniel said. Boy, there's a lot of talk
about that, isn't there? A lot of people being fooled
about that, abomination of desolation. Do you know what it is? We're
going to look at it. Sunday, Lord willing. He said
we need to understand them to keep from being deceived. Alright,
let's stay. We're going to go ahead and get
started. We're going to go ahead and get started. All right. Okay. So I'm going to go ahead and
do that. I'm going to go ahead and do
that. I'm going to go ahead and get
started. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. Okay. All right. you. I'm sorry. Okay. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I
don't know. uh... Okay. I don't know. Thank you very much. Thank you. uh...
