Well, we touched on this Wednesday
night briefly. And honestly, I thought I wanted
to get to Cain and Abel in chapter four. And honestly, I thought,
well, I said enough about that and we'll go on. chapter 4, but
then I started reading up to chapter 4, and I thought, we
haven't even begun. And the more I studied this,
I thought, maybe we better go on. It's too deep. But as promised, we're going
to look at some very basic gospel messages in the weeks ahead.
Very basic. This is the first gospel message. The first gospel message ever
preached, God preached it. Then we better preach it. See
what he's saying. Now, the first three chapters
tell us about creation and the fall of man. Man, just in brief,
man was tempted by Satan, Satan's reader. Our Lord said something. He tempted the first man and
woman and they failed. They failed. They rebelled against
God is what they did. They were to be blamed. They
rebelled against God. Satan lied on God. No, God said something. And Adam
and Eve heard him, and then Satan said something, and they believed
him instead. So that's unbelief of God. And
Satan said this, you'll be like God. And that appealed to them. We want to be as God. We don't
want to be under His run. And so they rebelled. But God
said, you will die. The day you do that, you will
die. And so they died. They did. Man died. He died spiritually,
and he began to die physically. Man died spiritually. What does
that mean? Well, in the verses that we just read, Adam was afraid. Adam tried to hide from God.
Adam blamed his wife, his wife blamed the serpent. They both
blamed God, really. They feel a sin. Before they
loved God's presence, before they knew that God saw everything,
they didn't hide from Him. Before they knew they were naked
and it didn't bother them, no shame. Before they loved each
other, bone of my bone. Holy, righteous is God. But then
when they rebelled against God, sin entered their being. And
they became dead in sin. Before, they loved God. Now,
they're mad at God. Adam, if you hadn't created that
woman, this wouldn't have happened. Now, man died spiritually. And
God kicked him out of the garden. God kicked him out of His presence. He lost the holiness of God,
he lost the presence of God. Now Adam's only going to see
God and hear from God when God's pleased to see him and talk to
him. Before he walked with God, he
could see God, he could talk to God. Now he's banished and
he's in darkness and he's in sins in his being. Bitterness and sin entered his
being in chapter 4, envy, jealousy, and murder. And then it gets
worse and worse and worse and worse. Man died in sin. And look at it now. This whole
world is a cesspool of sin because of these first two human beings. All right, so a man died. God
kicked him before God kicked him out. See, God who is rich
in mercy, God who is loving, God who is gracious, ready to
pardon, slow to anger, slow to wrath, ready to forgive, even
while they were yet sinners, God came walking. Did you read
that with me in verse 8? It said, They heard the voice
of the Lord God come walking. Voice walking? The voice came
walking. The Word of God, the spoken Word
of God came walking. The Word was made flesh. Came to this first. You see,
they were the first sinners, so what's that make them? So to the first sinners, God
came and preached the gospel. Christ. This was Christ now.
That boy's walking was Christ himself. Yes, it was. Christ
came and spoke to them. In verse 15, verse 15 is the
gospel, is the message that he tells them. Now, he tells it
to the serpent. So he's speaking to the serpent. It's telling the serpent of his
judgment of him, and in telling of that judgment, he tells of
a woman's seed. The woman's seed. The Lord opened our understanding.
Are you with me? You're going to have to be. He said, things are hard to be
understood, but absolutely necessary. You miss this, you'll miss why
Christ came, who Christ is, why he came, what he did, and how
we're saved. All right? Genesis 3, verse 15. He says this, and this was the
one verse. God says, I will put enmity. He's talking to the serpent,
Satan. I will put enmity between thee
and the woman. I'll put hatred, hostility, war. between thee and the woman, and
between thy seed, or your offspring, and her offspring. It, or her seed, shall bruise
thy head, and thou, Satan, shalt bruise
his heel. This seed shall bruise thy head,
and thou, Satan, shalt bruise his heel. It, the woman's seed,
shall bruise the head of Satan, and Satan shall bruise the heel
of the woman's seed. Now what is this all about? What
is this seed of woman? What is it? Well, in case something
happens, I want to tell you right now, it's Christ. The woman's seed
is Christ. Christ is the seed of woman,
the son of God. Turn to Matthew chapter one with
me. Matthew chapter one. Christ is
the seed of woman, the seed of woman. Why is he called the seed
of woman? Well, look at Matthew chapter
1. This is the story of Christ's birth. Verse 18. You have it? Matthew 1, verse 18. Now, the birth of Jesus, the
Christ, was on this wire. when as his mother Mary was espoused
to Joseph before Joseph and Mary had sexual relations, before
they came together, she was found with child. She was pregnant. How? She asked that. She said, Lord,
I don't know a man. I haven't known a man. I haven't
been with a man. I'm a virgin. Look at it. with child of the Holy Ghost. The Lord says in verse 20, the
last line, an angel appeared to Joseph and said, That which
is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost. And she shall bring forth a son,
and thou shalt call his name Jesus. For he shall save his
people from their sins. Now, all this was done that it
might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet,
saying, and this is in Isaiah 7, Behold, a virgin shall be
with child, and bring forth a son, and they shall call his name
Immanuel, which being interpreted is God with a virgin. Why? Why is it important? Why was she a virgin? Why was
Christ born of a virgin? Is that important? Do you know,
listen to me now, do you know that mainstream religion now
really doesn't believe that? They don't think it's important. If he wasn't born of a virgin,
there's no salvation in that one. He's just a man like me, and
he can't save himself, let alone others. Born of a virgin. Why? Romans
5. Turn over to Romans chapter 5 with me. You see, we all come
from Adam's seed. The word sperm is seed. That's
what this word seed here is. It's sperma. A woman doesn't
have a seed, does she? No. A man impregnates the woman
with his sperm or seed. A woman doesn't have a seed. She's just a vessel. A vessel. We all came, everyone in here
came from our Father, right? Came from our Father. who came
from his father, who came from his father, who came from the
loins of his father, and on and on and on, all the way back to
Adam. We are all sons of Adam. Now, when Adam sinned, he became
a sinner. Sin entered into his being. He became a sin. Scripture said,
David said this, man after God's own heart. David, knowing the
will and mind of God. David said, in sin did my mother
conceive me. David said, I was brought from
the womb speaking lies. All have sinned, Isaiah said,
and come short. Sin, sin, sin. We're sinning.
We're born in sin. Why? We have our Father's nature.
We have Adam's nature, you see. We come from his seed. But Christ
didn't come from the seed of man. In Him is no sin. He has no sin. He doesn't come
from man. Where does He come from? God. God. He doesn't have the seed
of man. If He does, if He came from man... Now this tells us
that Mary didn't have anything to do with His birth. She—her
egg did not—no egg. Because in that egg is the seed
of man. Do you understand me? Mary had
nothing to do with Christ being born. You say, wait a minute, now wait
a minute. She's just a vessel now, just a chosen vessel. She
herself. She received this from God. God could have chosen anybody.
Couldn't He? Yes, He could. He could have
chosen any woman. He didn't choose her because she was special and
better than anybody else. No, she's just a glass, a vessel. There's a hundred glasses down
in that cabinet. We chose this one to put water
in. The glass doesn't quench my thirst.
The water does. Mary doesn't save me. Mary doesn't
help. She's not the co-redemptress.
Like Catholicism said, no sir. It doesn't say the woman and
the seed will bruise your head. Does it? It doesn't say the woman
and the seed. It says the seed, he, will bruise
your head. In him. It doesn't say in him
and her. It says in him is salvation. It doesn't say Christ and Mary
died for us. No, it says Christ died for us. It doesn't say there's
one mediator or two mediators between God and men, the man
Christ and the woman Mary. No, it does not. That needs to be said because
there's a movement afoot to make Mary part in salvation. Horrible idolatry and blasphemy.
Well, look at chapter 5 of Romans. You got it? Romans chapter 5
tells us this. Look at the beginning of verse
12. It says now, chapter 5, verse 12 says, As
by one man sin entered into the world, that's Adam, and death
by sin. And so, death passed upon all
men, and in case anyone argues, you're a sinner, aren't you?
All of sin. Well, I'm not a sinner, you just
did. If any man say he hath not sinned,
he makes God a liar. That's the worst of all, calling
God a liar. That's what Satan did. Well,
James Henry, verse 18 to 19. Therefore, as by the offense
of one, Adam, judgment came upon all men to condemnation, even
so by the righteousness of one, Christ, the free gift came upon
all men under justification of life. For by one man's disobedience,
many were made sinners. So by the obedience of one, shall
many be made righteous." This is what we call federal headship. That's a big word meaning that
Adam represented everybody in Adam. Everybody that comes from
Adam is going to be like Adam. Sinful. Everybody that's in Christ
and found in Christ, everybody that's born of Christ is going
to be found in Christ. Going to be like Christ, as He
is. So are we. As Adam is, so am I. As Christ
is, so are we. 1 Corinthians 15 says, in Adam
all died, in Christ, many died. All right, let's look at this
a little more full. Now, Jesus Christ was made of a woman. The
woman's seed. The woman's seed. Not the seed
of man. He's called the woman's seed
because that's impossible for a woman to have a seed. The woman's
seed. But he was made of a woman, Scripture
says, made under the law. He became a man. He became a
man. Now, back to Genesis 3. Back
there. Now, God spoke to the woman. Now, you're going to enjoy
this. Ask the Lord to give you attentive
mind. All right? You're going to enjoy
this. God speaks to the woman right
after that, after this, and He says to her in verse 16, unto
the woman, He said, I will multiply, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow
and thy conception. He's talking about childbirth.
He just talked about the seed of woman, and now He's talking
about childbirth. He said, in sorrow, you're going
to bring forth children. All right? Now, she understood. She must have understood. God's
going to send Because God had already said, multiply and replenish
the earth. God told them to procreate, get
together, procreate, and you'll produce another, a child, a man-child,
a son of Adam and Eve, if you get together, two of you. And his seed in you, and I'll
create another human being through you too. Multiply, replenish,
okay! And now they've fallen, and God
says, the woman's seed. And he says, you're going to
have a child. So she thought. Well, this is going to be the
Christ or whoever it is, whoever this seed of woman is, whoever
this is that's going to be born for me is going to get us out
of this mess that we've got ourselves in. Adam. We're going to have a son and
he's going to get us out of this mess that we are in. He's going
to restore us to God. Look at chapter 4, verse 1. Adam
knew Eve, his wife, and she conceived, and bear came. And she said,
he's here. He's here. I've gotten, and you know the
original says, the man. I've gotten the man from the
Lord. I've gotten the seed, the promised
one, the one who's going to get us out of this man. No, Eve. It's not him. It's not him. It's not him. Well, look at verse
25 in the same chapter. Adam knew his wife Eve again.
Now, she had another boy anyway, right after Cain. His name was
Abel. And she thought, well, maybe this is him. Maybe this
is him. I see. I'm going to conceive. Maybe this is him. Well, no,
when Cain, when they found Abel dead in the field, they thought,
oh, we trusted it might have been him. But he was killed. Boy, that's a picture of Christ
right there, isn't it? We trusted it was him that might
be the seed of the Christ that was to come. No, but he's a picture
of him. He's a picture. His blood speaks. This is what's going to happen.
Well, Ben, she had Seth. Look at verse 25 of the same
chapter. Adam knew his wife again, she
bare a son, called his name Seth, for God had poured me another
seed. This is him. This is the one. This is the
seed, Seth. No, Eve, no. No, there's a lot
of time that's got to take place. The fullest of time. Turn over
to Genesis 9 with me, all right? Genesis 9. Well, time went by. You know, God told several sons
of Adam down through the years about their seed. Your seeds are won. Genesis 9. Look at Genesis 9, verse 9. God said to Noah, Behold, I establish
my covenant with you and with your seed after you. My covenant
with you and your seed. Shem, Ham, Japheth? No, Noah,
no. No. It's not one of those boys. They're sinners just like you,
Noah. They can't do anything for you.
Chapter 12. Look at chapter 12 of Genesis.
Turn over there quickly. Chapter 12. You got that? All
right. Here's a fellow named Abraham came along. It has come
along. God called him. God chose him. Verse 7, God said to Abraham,
Lord appeared unto Abram and said, Under thy seed will I give
this land. Isaac. Isaac was born. This is him.
Son of promise, the seed. Well, no. He's going to be a
son of promise. Yes. That's a picture of it. And then God one day had Abraham
take him up on the mountain and show him. Now, here's a real
picture of the sea. Well, Galatians 3. Turn over
to Galatians chapter 3. Galatians 3. And I'm not just
taking up time here. We need to see this. Galatians
3, you know, just about the whole book of Galatians, talks about
Abraham and Sarah and Isaac and Ishmael and the seed and so forth.
Huh? Why? Lot said about the seed. Must be important. Abraham, you
see, was the father of Isaac. Isaac was the father of Jacob. Jacob, father of on and on and
on down to David. David's seed, seed of David. God said to David, your seed. Solomon? No, but a greater than
he. Seed of Solomon. And on down
the line, you see. Chapter 3, verse 16 of Galatians. Now, to Abraham and his seed
were the promises made. Now, he didn't say, he saith
not to seeds as of minutes. But as of one, to thy seed, Abraham's
seed, which is Christ. Christ, the seed. The woman's
seed. Noah's seed. Abraham's seed. David's seed. God. Come from God. All right? It's Christ. The seed is Christ. All right,
what's this enmity between the serpent and the woman? Back in
our text in Genesis, it says that God said to the serpent,
chapter 3, verse 15. All right, we've established
that the seed is Christ. Who's the woman? Mary? Mary wasn't around when Abraham... It wasn't Eve. All right, look
at it again. He said, I'll put enmity between
thee and the woman, between the serpent and the woman. What's
that? What's that? Well, turn over
to the last book, Revelation. All right, in the beginning,
God said this. God preached the gospel. In the end, he's going
to tell us what this enmity between a serpent and a woman is. and how the seed is going to
bruise his head. This is the last chapter of the
book. Revelation 12. I'm not talking about chapters. It wasn't written in chapters.
But Revelation is the last chapter. Revelation chapter 12. You got
it? Okay? Revelation 12. Now, like I said,
Mary was just a vessel. Mary was just a vessel, like
Eve was a vessel. to give birth to the Christ. There's a verse in Genesis 7
where God said to Noah, He said, you get in the ark because I've
chosen you to preserve seed. I've got to keep seed alive on
the earth. Well, what is this vessel? Mary was just a vessel
to give birth to the child. Child is born, but now the son
is given. What is this vessel that God
uses to give birth to His sons? New birth, spiritual birth. What
is the vessel? Where was the seed found? When
God came down and put a seed to give, to generate life, where
was it found? It was found in the body of a
body. of a woman. When God brings the seed, Christ,
the gospel, the incorruptible seed, the word preached, Peter
said, where does he put it? In a body. Church. That's exactly right. She's called
a woman. She's called a bride of the second
Adam. A second Adam's bride. The church. She's a forlorn woman, too. A
disobedient woman. Nevertheless, it's where the
Christ is. It's where you're going to hear. She's a weak vessel.
Lord, Eve was weak. She was a fallen woman, wasn't
she? That to see the gospel of Christ, many sons are born in
the church. All right, now establish that.
This chapter 12 here in Revelation is not talking about Mary. Or Catholicism? No, no, no. That's idolatry. We'll see that. Now, we've already
looked at this, haven't we? In our study in the Revelation.
Revelation 12, 1 through 3. There appeared a great wonder
in heaven. A woman clothed with the sun. S.O.N. Clothed with the sun and
the moon under her feet, upon her head a crown of twelve stars."
Now people, you've seen, and I've got to absolutely lay in
the dust this foolish notion that Mary is the Queen of Heaven.
That's absolute blasphemy. She ain't no Queen of Heaven.
Ask her. She rejoiced in God her Savior. She was a sinner needing a Savior.
She came from her loins, gave birth to her. The child was the
father of the mother. Mary was a sinner. Christ came
out of her loins that she gave birth to, had to give birth to
her, had to die for her. Well, it says a woman, the crown
of twelve stars. This is the church. These are
the apostles. She being with child, cried, going to give birth
to the church. Church, children, many, prevailing
in birth, great travail, great persecution, great pain to be
delivered. Appeared another wonder in heaven. Behold, a great red dragon having
seven heads. A head, a dragon with seven heads. Let's go on. Verse 4, A tale
drew the third part of the stars of heaven. In other words, he
had some seed. He had some following. Cast them to the earth. Alright,
here's the dragon with heads and a following on earth. Here's
this woman giving birth. Verse 5, She brought forth a
man-child who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron. Christ
was chosen from among the people. Christ came from His people. Christ was, he said, in the midst
of the congregation, will I declare thy name. Christ came to his
own. We're come, Hebrews says, not
to the Mount Sinai, but to Mount Zion, the church of the living
God, the firstborn. Verse 6. Are you reading it?
You've got to look at it. Verse 6. The woman fled into
the wilderness. Mary? There's no record of her
going anywhere. This is the church being persecuted
by Satan. She has a place, though, for
a long time. Now, let's read on down. Verse
9, the great dragon which was cast out, the old serpent called
the devil and Satan, wished to seed with the whole world. He's
got offspring. He's the father of lies, and
he has many captives and lies and seed. His first seed was a fellow named
Cain, just like Adam and Eve's first
son, it was Satan's too. And he made war with one of the
firstborn sons of God, Abel. Alright? The old serpent, Satan,
the dragon, the devil, was cast into the earth, alright? And
verse 12 says he's there for a short time. A short time. Verse
13, Now when the dragon saw he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted
the woman which brought forth the man. That's the church being
persecuted. But the woman was given wings.
Two wings to fly. To escape. A way of escape. To
fly. Verse 17, The dragon was wroth
with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed. Who are they? They are those
that keep or believe the Word of God and have the Gospel of
Christ. See who this woman is? That the enmity is between Satan
and the woman? Who is it? Not Mary. It's Christ's
bride, His church. Enmity. Enmity. Alright? Now, what is this bruising
of his head? Bruising of Satan's head and
then a bruising of the seed's heel. What's that? Well, as I said, Satan waged war on
the first man and woman and their first children and on and on
and on. The serpent waged war. Now, he didn't know. Let me find
someone who's listening. He heard the pronouncement, didn't
he? The woman's seed. He heard that.
Don't bruise your head. He didn't know who it was. He
didn't know who it was. It's Cain. There he is. I'll
get him. He got him. There's another one. I'll get
him. I'll have this one kill him.
He heard this, the woman's seed. He heard this, didn't he? He
heard this pronouncement. He knows it's the seed of a woman.
Somebody's going to be born. Somebody's going to be born in
this earth. A man's going to walk this planet, and he's going
to give me trouble." So, he went seeking whom he may devour. Who's
he looking for? Seed. He doesn't know who it
is. Just a seed. He heard God say,
Abraham, you're seed. Ha! Ishmael. God get him. On and on. David, he heard this. Finally, in the fullness of time, a child is born in a stable,
and the angels from heaven come and say, This is Him, the seed. Glory to God in the highest.
Here He is. He's born. Satan said, I'll get
Him. And didn't he try to kill him? From that day, for thirty-three
years, he tried to get him. This is wonderful! Stay with
me! You ever read a book and get to the last chapter and you
just want to... You ever seen a movie with an
ending that's just a wonderful ending and you just want to jump
up and say, If you'll stay with me now, you might just jump up
and say, yeah. All right, Satan. Tried to kill
him at his birth another time. Tried to take him. There's not
time yet. Tried to tempt him one time when
he was 30 years old, Satan. God allowed Christ to come in
front of Satan and say, ha, ha, ha, ha. He tempted him with everything
he had. for forty days and forty nights, Sam. He said, I've got
the first Adam, I'll get him. I'll ruin God's creation, I'll
ruin his salvation. And I hurled everything at him. Take this! Get behind me. I'll try this. You can't tempt
me. Now, buddy, our salvation's right
here, Henry. This feed, here he is. Satan's after him. He
tried that, and he failed miserably. Satan left him for a season.
It says he left for a while. Boy, he knows this is it. I've
been, the one I've been looking for all these years, and finally, thirty-three and
a third years. God said, here he is. Have him. Take him. Do with him as you please. You
and your seed. You and your followers. And they
were religious. Satan had a bunch of seed. They
were all religious. They were all dressed as ministers
of righteousness. The law. Pharisees. Here they
are. Here you are. Here's the seed.
Do what you will with him. And Satan said, we've got him
now. I've got him. We've got him. What'd they do? Killed him. We've done it now. Yep. You've done it now. You've killed yourself. What have I done, Satan? See,
Stan, I think you knew, right? What have I done? You see? By condemning Christ, God says
there is therefore now no condemnation to them that are in the earth. By crucifying Christ, his seed
are set free. Where are you all going? We've
been set free. You did it! You did it! He had him buried in the ground. He buried the seed. What happens
when you bury seed? So I'll do away with this seed
now. Time to get rid of this plant which God has planted. Here's what I'll do. I'll bury
this seed. And a vine sprung up and bore
seed that just flew in the wind, took it, and blew it all over
the planet. What have I done? Satan thought. And somehow, mysteriously, Christ
led captivity captive. On the hanging on the cross,
when Christ said, It's finished, I believe Satan heard it too.
from the same one that said, from the same one that came walking
in the garden and said to him, you're going to have your head
bruised. And some 4,000, 5,000 years later,
that same one hanging on that cross said, it's done. Satan said, got you. He said,
no, I have you. I've got you whole there. In
fact, I'm leading you captive. Oh, the infinite wisdom of God.
Here's what I'll do. I'll kill the Lamb. This is the Lamb of God. Well,
Satan says, I'll kill Him. That's what has to be done. It
has to be done. It has to be killed. Ought not
Christ to have suffered? He has to. He's a lamb slain
before the foundation of the world. He's a woman's seed. The
seed's got to become a man. In the fullness of time, God
sent forth His Son, made a woman, made under the law, to redeem
them that were under the law. What's the law? It's a curse.
How did Christ redeem us? By being made a curse for us.
For it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree.
The soul that's here must surely die. It's the curse of the law.
Christ was made a curse for us. Satan said, I'll get Christ.
And getting Christ set us free. And killing Christ gave us life.
Killed his own power. Sin. Christ said, now, sin shall
not have dominion over you. I reign and rule. Now do you
see why it says, in Adam all die, even in Christ all made
alive? By one man's death, the many
were made sinners, even so by the obedience of one. The life
of one, so many be made righteous. He's called the second Adam.
He's called the second Adam. Let's read where he sung that
song. Second Adam from above, reinstate us in thy love. God came down here as a man.
God demands holiness. God told Adam, don't you sin
against me and rebel against me. Don't do it. You do it and
you'll die. Adam did it, he died, and we
all died in Adam. Okay, here comes the second Adam,
our representative, our substitute. God said, keep the law, and they'll
live. You're doing this for them. Keep
the law. He said, I did it. He said, they'll
live. God gives them that righteousness. God accepts them in the Beloved,
in the seed. You see that? But God said, now
wait a minute, the soul that sinned, Adam, you sin, you die.
Christ, they're sinners, they've got to die. Christ said, I'll
die for them. He died that we might live. He was made sin for
us who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of
God. We're redeemed. Our sins are paid for, not partially,
but fully. Christ died. Who is He that condemned
us? Christ died. There's now, therefore,
no condemnation to those represented by Christ. In Christ, all made
alive. Well, how were we in Adam? We're born in the flesh. Right? How are we in the second
Adam? We're born of the Spirit. Again, from above, you must be
born again. Well, how? See, Peter said, see, you're
born again by the incorruptible seed, which is the word of God,
what I just preached, that liveth and abideth forever. The Word
of Christ preached, revealed, received, believed, formed in
us. You see, God, the Holy Spirit,
has to come and overshadow. We're vessels of mercy. If we're
vessels of mercy, there's nothing in us more than if Christ, if
God comes, the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit implants His
seed in us as He is. So are you. John, it says, he
that sinned Christ sinneth not. Why? His seed. His seed remained
in him. Seeds in him. Seed. Child of God. Because of the
seed of woman. That's the best I can do. Seed
of woman. Is it important? Is it important? People, this is what I said a
while ago, in the beginning, that the world, why is Christ
born of a virgin? Why is, what are you looking
at this for? This seed of woman, what's that
got to do with anything? Oh, it has, it's everything.
It's everything. You see the word seed now, all
the way through the scriptures. What do you think of that? When
Christ said, except the corn of wheat fall in the ground and
die. What do you think of that? you'll go all the way back to
Genesis 3. In the beginning, God planted a seed. God preached
the gospel. Fruit of salvation. All right.
You got a hymn picked out? 228. 228. Let's sing the first and last
verse. 228, let's sing. My faith has found a resting place Not in
the vice nor free I trust the Ever-Living One, His Word for
me shall be. I need no other argument, I need
no other plea. It is enough that He was Son,
and that He died for me.
