If you'd like to follow along,
I'll be doing a verse-by-verse exposition here in Exodus 12. Now, most people think of God
as only being a God of love. When you confront someone with
the awesome acts of God in the Old Testament Scriptures, His
awesome acts of destruction and wrath, they will probably say
something to you about God being different now in the New Testament
days, won't they? But these people have failed
to read the Scripture that God says concerning Himself. That
I am the Lord, I change not. I change not. The holy, righteous,
just, and sovereign God of the Old Testament is still holy,
righteous, just, and sovereign today. He's the same God. He
still will by no means clear the guilty. He is still angry
with the wicked every day. He still loves righteousness
and hates wickedness or iniquity. He still hates all workers of
iniquity, and hell is living, present proof that God will by
no means clear the guilty, that he will indeed punish sin still,
even in this twentieth century. God will punish every worker
of iniquity. Now, some people will admit this.
Some people will admit that God does punish. But they erroneously
or falsely imagine that those people in hell are only murderers,
robbers, rapists, and openly profane and wicked people, don't
they? That's what they believe, that
those are the only people in hell. What they fail to realize
is that God looks upon the heart. That God is a discerner of the
very thoughts and intents of the heart, and the scripture
says just one thought of foolishness is sin to God and one sin to
God Almighty is worthy of eternal hell and damnation, is it not?
Just as much as one million. And we all were full of sin from
the cradle to the grave and further still. Men and women fail to
realize that self-righteousness is the sin that God is most indignant
with. That self-righteousness is the
most despicable sin of all to God, and most everyone is going
about their merry way to establish this self-righteousness in order
to please God. So very, very, very, very many
people. are right now under this wrath
of this holy God. And if you ask the average man
or woman why God should have mercy upon them, why God should
not send them to hell, why God's wrath should pass them by when
it does indeed come through, when that overflowing scourge
of His wrath comes through, and most will acknowledge that it
is indeed coming, that He is going to burn up They will acknowledge
the Scriptures that far. If you ask them why God should
pass them by, why he should have mercy upon them, most will say
something like this. They'll say, I'm a Christian.
I believed on Jesus. I accepted Jesus as my personal
Savior. I made a profession. I now live
for God. I was baptized. I've been a good
person. I've lived righteously like one
man I confronted one time. concerning something he was reading.
He said, I'll have you know I'm a born-again believer and I speak
in tongues and I'm washed in the blood and so forth. That
was his first reaction was what he was, what he claimed to be. But if you ask the true child
of God, again I say this, if you ask the true child of God
why God should show mercy upon him or her, Why God should pass
that one by when his overflowing scourge of wrath comes by? He
will most certainly say every time, it's the blood that makes it
tomb for the soul. Christ is my righteousness. Like
old John Jasper, was it? Was it John Jasper? Somebody
said that he had a dream that he went to heaven and he was
up at that pearly gate and somebody stopped him and said, John Jasper.
What right have you got to come in here?" And old John said,
I got no right at all, but I'm here on the rights of another.
I'm here on the righteousness of the Lord Jesus Christ. And
that's the answer of every true child of God, that Jesus Christ
shed his sinless blood for my account. For sinners. I'm a sinner,
so I claim it as being shed for me. I plead the blood. That's what every true child
of God says. He doesn't plead anything he's
done, anything he has, any profession he's made, any aisle he's walked,
any good work he's done there, he'll claim those as being filthy
rags. But he'll merely say, I'm here
on the rights of another. I'm here because the blood covers
my sinful soul. It's the blood and the righteousness
of Christ. Well, here in Exodus chapter 12, Just as it was in
the days of the first Passover that we read about a moment ago,
it is true even now. The only reason that God Almighty,
this holy sovereign God, stays His wrath and His judgment from
us, He says now the same as He said then, when I see the blood,
I will pass over you. That's the only reason that God
can show mercy to anyone. when he sees the blood applied
to your soul, then he'll pass over you. That's the only reason.
Look here at Exodus chapter 12, beginning with verse 3. The Lord
spake unto Moses, and he told him, gave strict orders here,
beginning in verse 3, he says, You speak unto all the congregation
of Israel. Now, he didn't say that you go
to the Egyptians. He sent him to a particular people.
These were God's chosen people. He said, You speak unto all the
congregation of Israel, and you say, In the tenth day of this
month thou shalt take to them every man a lamb, according to
the house of their fathers. A lamb. Why did God choose a
lamb to sacrifice? for his Passover, why did he
choose a lamb? Well, there are very many reasons,
and I'm sure we don't have all the reasons. I certainly don't,
but here's a few. Because, for one thing, a lamb
is the meekest of all creatures, meek and mild, the mildest of
all creatures. A lamb is the most harmless of
all creatures. A lamb is perhaps one of the
most submissive creatures to mankind that we know of. It will
submissively and obediently follow right along behind the shepherd,
doing the shepherd's will, obeying the shepherd's voice in every
command. It's not a rebellious creature at all. And also, a
lamb is a servant to man, a servant, a faithful servant to mankind. Christ is called the Lamb. the
lamb slain from the foundation of the world. He said, take my
yoke upon you and learn of me because I am meek, just like
a lamb. I'm meek and I'm lowly and submissive,
the obedient, submissive Son of God. He said, I always do
those things which please my Heavenly Father. I delight to
do thy will, O God. I delight. And he's a servant,
our servant. He said the Son of Man came not
to be ministered unto, but to minister, to give his life for
the service of God's people. Didn't he not? Did he not? A
lamb. Many other reasons also, such
as a lamb's coat or its wool is useful as a covering, as warmth,
as protection. The meat of a lamb, the milk,
goat's milk, every part. Every part of this creature,
God has wisely ordained to be used with Thanksgiving. We can
use just about every part of the lamb. And Christ, Christ,
what can be said about the Lamb of God? And he says, a lamb for
a house. Did you see that? According to the house of their
fathers, a lamb for a house. Whether it be a large or a small
house, every house must have a lamb. Now, verse 4. If the
household be too little or too small to use one whole lamb,"
in other words, if it's just a man and his wife, or perhaps
a man, a wife, and one child, then you let him, he says, "...let
him and his neighbor next unto his house take it according to
the number of the souls. Every man, according to his eating,
shall make your count for the lamb." God is very particular.
Concerning this, that is, that the whole of the lamb must be
used up. Nothing is being wasted. Nothing
wasted of the lamb can't be too much, can't be too little of
the lamb, can't be too much blood or too little. That's significant. Most certainly nothing is to
be left over, but all of it is to be eaten and used. All of
it, all of it. There must not be any waste of
this precious animal during this important and serious matter
of life and death. This was life and death to these
people. Life and death. Doesn't God do
the same thing with His Lamb? You better believe it. He's particular. He's particular about the blood
of His Son. He's not going to waste it. He
says there's going to be enough, and there's not going to be any
left over. God wouldn't waste, would God waste the life and
the death of his well-beloved only begotten son? Would he?
Would he use it? Would he spend it uselessly on
somebody who can't use it or won't use it? Would he? Oh, that's
blasphemy, isn't it? That's an insult to the intelligence
and the wisdom of God's foreign nation, isn't it? It's an insult.
You mean he didn't know how much blood it would take? You mean
it wasn't enough or it was too much? That's an insult. God is
all-wise. He knew just how much it would
take, and every drop of his Son's blood is used. This is the highest
form of blasphemy, if you ask me, concerning the gospel, this
thing of Christ dying for every man. Highest form of blasphemy,
if you ask me. The greatest injury to the glory
of God's Son is to say that he shed his precious blood in vain
for somebody. To say that he died for somebody
who ends up in hell is as much to say that the blood of Jesus
Christ has no power, isn't it? To say that he died for somebody
and they end up in hell is to say that there is no power in
the blood. That makes sense, doesn't it? And even this, to say only those
who appropriate the blood, that is, he shed his blood for everybody,
and only those who believe or appropriate the blood to themselves,
only those people will be saved. That means it's not the blood
that has the power, it's the faith, you see. The faith is
the deciding factor here. The faith makes the blood powerful. It might as well be in the blood
of a bull or a goat, right? You see, faith is important,
but it is the blood and only the blood that makes atonement
for the soul, only the blood that makes atonement for the
soul that pays for my sin, because he was the Lamb slain before
the foundation of the world. The blood was shed before I ever
did any sinning, before I ever did any believing. We were chosen
in him in that sacrifice before the foundation of the world.
Now, write this down. Faith merely acknowledges what
the blood has already done. That's faith. That is faith. Your faith does not save you.
It merely reveals that God has indeed saved you. See? You are born again. God gives
birth to you and then faith comes, you see. Faith doesn't come and
then he gives birth to you. No, no, no. God didn't look down
to see who would believe and then choose them. That's hogwash,
isn't it? Hogwash. So it's not our appropriation
of faith that saves us. The blood of Jesus Christ, God's
Son, cleanses us from all sin. And faith merely acknowledges
what he has already done, giving him all the glory. We even give
him all the glory for our faith. Faith is the gift of God. Well,
look at verse 5. He says, Listen, I want you to take notice
throughout this passage, all the shalls and the wills. God
just doesn't leave this up to debate, does he? He doesn't leave
this up to anybody's interpretation here, or to chance. It shall,
it will, it must, it shall, it must be perfect to be accepted.
All the way through here, notice the shalls and the wills and
the must. He says, Your lambs shall be without blemish, without
blemish. must be the spotless Lamb of
God. He's holy. He is without blemish. He is spotless. He is sinless.
He's the undefiled Son of the living God. He must be found
by God without blemish or we're gone. We're gone. We're, of all
men, most miserable if Christ was just a mere man and He just
died for His own sins. Look at this. He said, Your Lamb
shall be without blemish a male. A male. of the first year, a
male. Christ was a man. I don't care
what these foolish feminists say about the Son of God being
just a child of God. He's a man. Jesus Christ was
a man in order that the scriptures might be fulfilled. Right here
we're reading it, a male, a male symbol of strength and authority,
a male of the first year. Notice that, a male of the first
year? In Jewish days, ancient Jewish days, a young man was
not considered a man until thirty years old. Right? Thirty years
old. This was when our Lord began
his earthly ministry in the first year of his manhood. The first
year. And it says this, look at it.
Verse five. You shall take the lamb out from
the sheep, or from the goats. Take the lamb from the sheep.
or from the goats. Nancy, Christ was chosen from
out of the people, wasn't he? He was chosen from among the
people, the brethren. He grew up in the midst. He grew
up as a tender plant, a root out of dry ground. Right in the
midst of it, there were some sheep with him. There were some
goats, too. Right in the midst of them. Right
in the middle of them. And look at this, verse 6. And
you shall keep it up. For observation's sake, keep
this lamb up until the fourteenth day of the same month, and the
whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the
evening." Keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month.
Now, I'm sure these days have significance. I didn't look them
up, but I'm sure they have significance. One, I did look up here in a
moment. I'll show you. But it says, keep it up for observation. You've got to make sure that
this is a healthy lamb. You've got to make sure that
this lamb is without blemish, that it's a male of the first
year without blemish, without spot. It must be perfect to be
accepted. Got to make sure. Christ walked
this earth for 33, almost 34 years, didn't he? Proving that
he was indeed the spotless lamb of the Holy God. Proving that,
that he was indeed holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners,
the Lamb of God, the spotless Lamb. He said this in his adult
years, which of you convinces me of sin? Come on, somebody
speak up. Who convinces me of one sin?
Can you find one thought in me? And the father's ears pricked
up. It's important, isn't it? It's
important. Which of you convinces me of
sin? No man? No man. Even the devil
himself, the father of evil, he couldn't find anything. And
he knows the ins and outs. He couldn't find anything in
him, the scripture says. And God said this. God observed
him. He had to be, first of all, God's
lamb, didn't he? He had to live wholly before
the Lord, not before us. But before God, you see, He's
a God's sacrifice. God will provide for Himself
a lamb. He needs a lamb in order to pardon His people, to pay
for their iniquity. And God, after observing Him,
God Himself, He said, He said, He'll do. I'm well pleased with
it. This lamb will do, but only this
lamb, no other. I'm well pleased with this lamb.
I approve of this lamb. This lamb is my lamb. I'll take
this one." No other. He didn't search for heaven,
like they say in the beginning. He searched for heaven to try
to find a lamb, and finally somebody raised it. Oh, no. He was predestined,
predetermined before the foundation of the world to be God's lamb.
But he had to be observed. He had to live a perfect holy
life, didn't he? Well, it says here, the whole assembly of the
congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening. The whole assembly. What does
the scripture say? It says, we have taken and with
wicked hands crucified the Lord of glory, hadn't we? But we only
did what God had determined before to be done, didn't we? But nevertheless,
we did it, Terry. We were there. Our granddaddies,
they said, let his blood be on us and our children. Didn't he? Well, that can be taken two ways.
It can be for our condemnation, our guilt, for having the blood
of God's Son on our hands, for killing God's Son. It also can
be taken this way. Let His blood be on us and our
children. Don't you hope His blood is on
your children? For their salvation, not condemnation. But the wholesomely,
we killed God's Lamb, but we only did what God had determined
before to be done. the lamb slain before the foundation
of the world. But he had to come, he had to
die, he had to shed his blood. And it says this, did you notice
this? It said, do it in the evening. Now I did look this up, and this
was good. That most of the writers that
I read, they translated this as being a time between the evenings. From the evening before to the
evening the next day. And it was, they whittled it
down, they timed it down to around the ninth That's significant to anybody?
Christ expired on the cross at the ninth hour. Verse seven. Look at verse seven. He says,
And they shall take of the blood and strike it on the two side
posts and on the upper door post of the house wherein they shall
eat it. Take the blood of this lamb and
put it on the side post on the upper door post. He says they
here, but we read down there in verse, I say, verse 21, Moses
called for the elders and said unto them to take the blood.
Obviously, every family member couldn't apply the blood. There
were too many. Too many people, everyone, and some of them were
too small. There were little children in those houses. They
couldn't, they couldn't reach the blood. They didn't know what
the blood was. Couldn't they? This is significant. But the head of the family got
that blood and applied it to the door. Who's the head of this
family? Christ himself. He applies the
blood to his people, his Holy Spirit. Christ is the head of
the church. Our great high priest, the scripture says, he entered
into the holy place, not made with hands, entered in once by
himself with his own precious blood to present that blood to
the Father. And then, in some way, the Spirit applies it to
our conscience. The elder spirit, the spirit
who is an elder and supplies Christ's blood to his household,
to his family, to his children. It says there, the two side posts,
the two side posts and upper door posts of the house. Well, I don't know if this is
necessarily what this means, but it'll work. The two side
posts and upper door posts. The upper door post being the
Father, and the two side posts representing God the Son and
God the Holy Spirit. The heart, the head, the hand,
applied to our lives, our heart, our head, our hand, applied to
our soul, our body, our spirit. Or maybe Christ's head, his hands,
and his feet. I don't know, but that'll work.
Verse 8, it says, They shall eat the flesh in that night. See, it shall. This is no, this is no option
here. You had to eat it or you didn't
have any part in this thing. Not only the blood was required,
Rick, but you had to eat the flesh too, didn't you? Except
you, what if I say, except you eat my flesh and drink my blood,
you have no part in me, didn't you? So this was required also,
to eat into the flesh. And he said, in that night, in
that night, Christ said, We receive the broken body and shed blood
of Christ in our hearts by faith. That's what it is to eat his
flesh and drink his blood. Christ in us, our hope of glory.
We ingest him by faith. But he says, that not. That not. Now, once again, once again,
this tells us the urgency of this thing. The importance of
doing it now. Terry, now. Today is the day
of salvation, right? We can't put it off. What if
one of these children, a teenager or a young adult in this household
said, well, you know, I'm going to run around Cairo, run around
Egypt tonight. I'll be back at a good hour.
Son, don't go. You got to be out here under
the bugle. I'll be back in time. Not to worry. What if he'd have
said that? He didn't know. You know, I looked
this up. The Lord didn't know. He told,
through Moses, He told the Egyptians when He would come. He said at
midnight. But Moses didn't tell the people that. You look it
up. I did. Moses didn't tell the
people when exactly. He just said He's coming. He's
coming. Why? We're procrastinators, aren't
we? We'd put it off to the last minute,
and it might be too late, right? Yeah, I'm going to run. When
I get ready, at a convenient season, I'll get under this blood,
and I'll eat this flesh. Uh-uh. Now, that night, right
now, get it. Get it right now and eat it.
And he says here, it must be roast with fire, verse 8. Roast
with fire and unleavened bread. Roast with fire. and unleavened
bread. God poured out His wrath. This
God who is a consuming fire poured out His wrath upon His well-beloved,
only begotten Son. Christ suffered the fires of
hell itself for our sake, didn't He? He went down into the pit. He went down into the furnace
of affliction, the furnace of punishment for our sake. And
what did He come out as? A living bread. He came out of
that oven. of God's wrath as the living
bread, an unleavened bread for us. Unleavened bread. He says there, and you better
eat it with herbs, too. He says, with bitter herbs they
shall. Now, this has got to be in there,
too. They shall eat it with bitter
herbs. Stay with me. They shall eat
it with bitter herbs. We've studied this this morning.
We also must take part in the sufferings of Christ. If any
man take not up his cross and follow me, he cannot be my disciple. You know what Christ said? Bitter
herbs. It's bitter. It's bitter. We take part in
Christ's sufferings. Why do we take part in his sufferings?
Chiefly and foremost, to remember his sufferings for us. to take
part in that awful sacrifice of his. And it leaves a little
taste, the sufferings that we forego or that we undergo, leaves
a bitter taste in our mouth for this world, the weaniness from
the things of this world. And it leaves us thirsty. Bitter
herbs make you thirsty, thirsty for the water of life. Make sure
you eat those bitter, you shall eat those bitter herbs now. That's
a necessity, a necessity. Look at this, I like this verse,
verse 9. Verse 9. Eat not of it raw. Don't eat it raw. Nor sodden
with water. Christ was not to be offered
until his hour. They tried to take him, didn't
they, many different times, didn't they? He said he just passed
through them. I like those scriptures that
talk about that. Whole gangs of them ganged around him to
take him and cast him headlong over the cliff. And they all
had a hold of him. And they looked and he was gone. He's gone. I thought you had
him. No man takes his life from him.
He lays it down of himself. His hour was not yet come. He's
got to fulfill all the scriptures. Can't be raw. Can't be anything
left undone. Can't be raw. This can't be any
raw redemption. It's got to be perfect redemption.
Can't eat it raw. Uh-uh. Got to be cooked. Got
to be prepared fully. Perfectly. Just right. Just right. Now, not medium rare. Not medium. Well done. Well done, my good
and faithful servant. Well done. Don't eat it raw,
and I like this too, nor sodden with water. Christ is to be received
as He is, isn't He? As He is in all His strength,
in all His undiluted, undiminished strength. In all His power, He
is to be received as we studied this morning as King, high and
lifted up. Sovereign ruler. Like Barnard
said, you can't have him as Jesus first. You've got to have him
as Lord. You can't have him as Savior
until you bow to him as Lord. They've got it all backwards,
don't they? You accept him as your personal Savior, and then
you make him Lord later. Oh no, you bow to the Lord. And then
he bestows his sovereign salvation upon you. You don't do any part,
anything in this, play any part in this thing anyway. He is to
be received, no watered down gospel for God's people, in all
his strength, all his strong meat, strong doctrine. It's for
the family, all right. They're the only ones that will
receive it. Strong meat, strong doctrine. Not with water, not
sodden with water, but roast with fire, fire from on high.
God sends down his Holy Spirit to consume the sacrifice before
us with power. his head with his legs with the
pertinence thereof. Verse 10. And he says, you shall let nothing
of it remain until the morning. This is significant again. This
is talking about all the blood of Christ. All of his blood was
needed. All of his work was used. All
the law must be fulfilled. Every jot and every tittle. Nothing
left for us to do. Christ had to do it all for us.
He didn't take the first tittle, we take the next. He didn't do
99.9% of the work and leave us just a little bit to do. Oh,
no. He had to do it all. There shouldn't remain anything
left to do till morning. You see? He did it all. It's
done. It's done. Nothing to be left
to do. Nothing left to remain until
the morning. And that which remaineth of it,
hypothetically, it ought to be burned. What does scripture say? Going
to be tried with fire, aren't they? Whether it be wood, hay, or stubble? Yeah, they'll be tried. All right.
Be burned. Verse 11. And he says here, here,
this is a commandment here, too. Thus shall you eat it. This is
the way. I'm not going to leave this thing
up to just any man's interpretation. This is the way you're going
to eat it. You're going to eat it with your loins girded. Have
your loins girded about with truth, Paul said in Ephesians
6, didn't he? Have your loins girded about
with truth. That is, wrapping your soul in
the truth of God's Word, the truth of His gospel, the righteousness
of Christ. Wrapping your soul up in that,
the truth of God's promises. Christ is the truth. He is our
righteous covering. Gird about with Him. Right? He
said to have your loins girded. Have your shoes on your feet?
We're shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace. None
of God's people are going to partake of Christ unless they've
heard the gospel, right? Unless they've been prepared
by the gospel, nobody's going to eat Christ. Nobody's going
to partake of Christ unless they've been prepared by the Holy Spirit
to receive him, right? The Holy Spirit comes, convicts,
convinces, woos, draws, gives faith, repentance. He prepares
us, shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace, as Scripture
says, the gospel of peace. And he says here, you've got
to have your staff in your hand, too. You've got to have your staff
in your hand. Staff, what's that? That's the
sword of God's Word. The sword of God's Word, again,
in your hand. And then he says, again, he says
this with urgency, you've got to eat it in Haste. Eat it in haste. Eat it while
it's there. Eat it while it's ready. Come. Come. Now. For all things are
ready. All things are ready. Might not
be ready later on, right? Might close the door later on,
right? Now is the day of salvation. Eat it now. Eat it in a hurry. Eat it in haste. This is the
day of salvation. Call upon me while I'm near,
the Scripture says. And he says this, remember this
above all, this is the way, this is the way you're to eat it,
and this is the attitude you're to eat it in. Look at this, verse
11. You remember this above all,
this is the whole reason for the whole thing. Verse 11. It's
the Lord's Passover. This is why you're doing this,
to remember that salvation is of the Lord. That's why you're
doing this. And these Catholics, Catholicism
is taking this and believing this to actually turn into the
blood and the body of the Lord Jesus Christ. And the priests
are administering salvation, the sacrament, they call it.
They're administering it to the mouths of the people, putting
away their sins with it, actually, they say. That's crucifying him
afresh. That's blasphemy, isn't it? Blasphemy. You do this, the only
reason you're doing this really primarily is to remember that
salvation is totally of the Lord. It's the Lord's Passover. That's why. Verse 12, look at
it. I will pass through the land
of Egypt this night. Mark it down. We looked at that
verse in Revelation. It's Christ said, surely I come. God said this to these people
then. He says it to us now. I will pass through Egypt. We're living in Egypt, aren't
we? With all its riches. He will pass through. Mark it
down. In a day when you think not.
In an hour such as you think not. He's passing through. He's
coming. I will pass through the land of Egypt. God will punish
sin. God will by no means clear the
guilty. And He says here in verse 12,
He'll smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man
and beast, and against all the gods or princes or rulers of
Egypt. I'll make no discrimination. I'll execute judgment. I'm the
Lord." Adult or young person? Under the condemnation of God. Verse 13, But the blood, and
the blood doth I remember the blood," he says. I remember the
blood. I won't forget that. This is
a token. The blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses
where you are. And when I see the blood, I will pass over you. When I see the blood. He didn't say, not when you see
the blood. He didn't say that. I'm sure
they went out and saw it after the fact, didn't they? When that
elder, that father, put the blood on the doorpost, there were some
little kids in there. They didn't see the blood. Like I said, they
didn't know what blood was. They were too young, right? Too
little. They didn't see the blood. So
what was important there? That God saw the blood. The blood
is before the Lord, right? The blood is unto the Lord. Sacrifice
unto God. They didn't see the blood. They
saw it afterward when God had already passed through, when
salvation had already been accomplished. Then everybody went out and said,
wow. And they looked around at their
door. I see. And that's us, isn't it? That's
us. The cross was the lamb slain
before the foundation of the world. The Holy Spirit applied
the blood to all his people. And it was salvation where we're
elect and we're chosen, we're seated in him. Then later on,
we walk out our door and say, I see, God had the blood on my
door all this time. I see. When God saw the blood
and he said, the plague, when I see the blood, I will pass
over you and the plague shall not be upon me. you, to destroy you. It shall
not destroy you when I smite the land of Egypt." When God
sees Christ shed blood and imputed righteousness to us, He finds
no plague of sin in us. No condemnation to them which
are in Christ Jesus, right? No condemnation. Nothing to make
Him condemn us or destroy us. Who is He that condemns us? Oh man, why? Christ died. That's why. That's the only reason.
God justified. Christ died. He's now seated
at the right hand of God, making intercession. That's the reason.
That's the reason when God sees the blood. And verse 14. And this day shall be unto you
for a memorial. You better not forget this, he
said. How could you? How could you? How could you? For a memorial. And you'll keep
it a feast to the Lord in remembrance of His great salvation throughout
your generations. Tell it to your children. Remember
over there in verse 26 when the children says, what's going on
here? What's all this about? You tell them, we're remembering
the Lord Jesus Christ, dear son. Daughter, we're remembering He
who shed His precious blood on the cross to save our eternal
soul. You remember that. Shannon, you
remember that. Stephen, that's what we're doing
here. We're thinking about the Lord Jesus Christ who shed His
blood. Catherine, Hannah, that's what
we're doing here. That's what this is all about.
That's what it's all about. The Lord Jesus Christ shed His
blood, died on the cross for God's people. He did, and we're
remembering Him with this wine, with this bread. That's what
we're doing. We're thinking about Him. Kevin,
that's what we're doing. Jennifer, that's what we're doing
this for. No other reason. We're not doing
this to be saved. We're just thinking about Him.
This great salvation that He accomplished. Men, serve us the bread. So, we're going to go ahead and
do that. So, we're going to go ahead and do that.
