Let's open the Scriptures back
to 2 Timothy chapter 3. There is no place to hide in
except the Rock of Ages, Christ Jesus. Oh, that God would give each
of us grace to just flee to the blessed Savior. Finding Him a sweet and everlasting
refuge for our souls. You know, we're not here to just
occupy a few minutes of our time. This is a vital, vital hour we
spend together before God, seeking His face. This is not a religious
game. This is serious business, and
this business of knowing God, I want to know Him. I so want to know God. I want
to know Christ Jesus and the power of His resurrection. And
I hope that God will make us serious about these things, about
knowing the rock of ages and rejoicing in Him, rejoicing to
be found in Him. I'm thankful that God put a people
in His Son before the world began. I'm thankful that the Savior
came into this old vile world. in order to save those people
that the Father gave Him. And I'm so delighted to report
to you that the work that He did was a successful work. He
saved His people from their sins. And at some point during the
lifetime of God's elect, He crosses our paths with the Gospel. Just
one sinner getting up in front of other sinners, bragging on
the Lord Jesus and His work. And God takes that word, He takes
the sword of the Spirit and He miraculously, He mysteriously
just, He thrusts it into the heart. And there's life. He gives life. He takes away
a heart of stone. He gives a heart of flesh to
believe this glorious gospel. We rejoice in the Savior. We rejoice in this great salvation. But even as we do that, we know
this according to 2 Timothy chapter 3 and the first verse. We know
that in the last days, he says, perilous times, What are perilous
times? Well, that word means dangerous
times. Fierce times. Very troublesome
times. He's not talking about physically
troublesome times or physically dangerous times. He's talking
about spiritually. He's speaking spiritually that
there are some troublesome times. that are ahead. You'll notice
in that first verse of the third chapter of 2 Timothy that the
Apostle Paul uses the word also. He says this, no, also. In the second chapter, he has
said in that chapter that vile men had infiltrated the visible church
They brought with them error. They brought with them rebellion
against the very truth of God's Word. In the second chapter,
the Apostle Paul, as he writes this letter to young Timothy,
he speaks about God's Word of truth, and he also speaks about
error. Error. Thank God He has given
us the Word of Truth. We have the Truth. The Truth. As it is in Jesus. Thy Word,
the Savior said in His high priestly prayer, He said, Thy Word is
Truth. But over against the Word of
God is error. Now there's an abundance of error.
Religious error, we're talking about here. There's an abundance
of spiritual error. But there's just one word of
truth. It's identified as the truth. The truth. And really the very
truth of God is embodied in one person. The Lord Jesus. He said to His disciples, I am
the way, I am the truth, I am the life. No man cometh unto
the Father but by Me. If you want to learn the truth,
our Lord stood in front of Pilate. You know what Pilate said? What
is truth? And there standing before Him
was the embodiment of all the truth of God. He who is truth. He from everlasting and to everlasting
is the very truth of God. He is the incarnate Word whom
God sent into this world. He is the very truth of God.
And in this passage of Scripture, the Apostle Paul in the second
chapter, he sets before us the truth of the Lord and he sets
before us error. Error. Watch what he says about
the word of the gospel, the word of truth. Chapter 2 and verse
9. He says this. He says, Wherein
I suffer trouble. And you'll notice in the 8th
verse, he talked about the gospel. In fact, let me just read the
8th verse. Remember that Jesus Christ, of the seed of David,
was raised from the dead according to my gospel. wherein I suffer
trouble, as an evildoer, even unto bonds. But the Word of God,
the Word of God is not bound." You can't bind the Word of God.
You can bind God's preachers. John the Apostle, he was exiled
out to a lonely little island called Patmos. And the authorities
said, we will shut him up for good. We'll put him out there
where he's away from everybody. And we won't have anybody to
preach to. And he writes the book of Revelation
out there. God's Word cannot be bound. It will go forth. The Word of
God is at liberty to do exactly what God has ordained for it
to do. You cannot hold it back. You
cannot prevent the Word of God from doing its work. And we are
assured from this book, it will do its work. It will not return
to God void. In Isaiah 55, he talks about
the Word will not return unto Him void. He said, the Word has
gone out of my mouth. And that's the Word of Christ
Jesus, the incarnate Word. And that's the Word of the Scriptures,
the written Word. It shall not return unto Him
void. Christ Jesus came into the world
to do the work that the Father gave Him to do. And when He went
back to the Father, He did not go back to the Father empty-handed. He went back to the Father having
redeemed His people by His blood. He's the successful Savior. And
the Book of God, the Word of God, the Word of the Gospel,
it will always be successful. It will always accomplish God's
purpose in the thing where to He sends it. You can't bind the
Word of God. Just preach it. Just preach it. The Word of God. Look at verse
15. He says, study to show thyself. Study to show thyself approved
unto God. A workman that needeth not to
be ashamed, rightly dividing, rightly handling the word of
truth. Look at verse 18. He talks in
verse 17, he talked about Hymenaeus and Philetus. He says, who concerning
the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past
already, and overthrew the faith of some. Look down at verse 25. In meekness, he's talking about
the servant of the Lord, in meekness the servant of the Lord must
instruct those that oppose themselves If God peradventure will give
them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth, that they may recover
themselves out of the snare of the devil who are taken captive
at his will. There is the word of truth, but
there's also the word of error. Go back to 16, verse 16 of chapter
2. And here he says, but shun. After
he talks about rightly dividing the word of truth, rightly handling
the word of truth, he says, but shun. Stay away from. But shun
profane and vain babblings. Empty babblings. For they will
increase unto more ungodliness. Error spreads. Error spreads
rapidly. Error is naturally embraced by
the carnal mind. One writer said error will go
around the world while the truth is getting its boots on. And
you know error spreads. And error breeds this. This is
always the truth now. This is always so. Here's a rule. Error always breeds more error. More error. Oh God, keep us in
the truth. And don't let us veer off this
way or veer off that way. And it's so easy to do. It's
so easy for a little bit of error to just kind of creep in. But
it spreads. If you'll notice here, that word
in verse 17, here's the word, canker. And in the center margin,
center column of my Bible, it says gangrene. Does yours say
that? Gangrene. It spreads like gangrene,
which is deadly. There's only one way to stop
it. You have to cut it out. You have to eliminate it. That's
the way error is. Religious error is like gangrene. It spreads rapidly. And as it
spreads, it kills. As it spreads, it destroys. And the only way to be rid of
it The only way to get rid of it is to just cut it out. You've
got to eliminate it. Spiritual error concerning God,
errors concerning man, errors concerning sin, errors concerning
Christ Jesus, His person and His work, His accomplishments,
those errors regarding the things that pertain to eternity, Those
errors are dangerous, they're like gangrene, and when you see
them, there's one thing to do, cut them out. You've got to eliminate
it, or else it'll just keep on spreading ever so slowly. You
let a little error come into the church, and it spreads. It spreads. I spoke with someone not too
long ago, and they were talking about a little bit of error had
crept into their church. And I know what error does. I
know what gangrene does. It just keeps on spreading. A
little at a time, a little at a time. Usually it doesn't suddenly
take over. It's just little by little. Oh
God, hear our cry. Preserve us from error. Preserve
us. Preserve me from error. Oh God,
set a filter over my mouth. This old mouth of mine gets me
in trouble sometimes. And you say things that you don't
want to say. Things just kind of come out.
And if we're not careful, we will slip into error. Error is
slippery business. I only want to say right things
about God. I don't want to say anything
wrong about God. Oh God, keep me on the straight
path of glorifying You, of magnifying You in all of Your attributes,
in all of Your glory, in all of Your honor. Let me just say
right things about God. And let me say right things about
us, not to flatter men. Not to boast about us. We're
nothing. We're nobodies. We're nobodies. We're worms of the dust. We're
sinners. That's what we are. That's what
we were. That's what we are. That's what
will always be in ourselves. And you can't preach us down
too much. Lord, don't let us begin to think
that we're somebody when in fact we're just nobodies. I saw it from the church, one
of the churches had this sign, the church where everybody is
somebody. I don't want to go to a church
where everybody is somebody. I want to go to a church where
everybody is nobody and Christ is all. That's where I want to
go. That's where I want to worship God, where He's exalted. And
all the rest of us, we're just a bunch of nobodies. We're just
a bunch of sinners saved by grace. Thankfully, we're the children
of God. Absolutely. We're sons and daughters of the
Most High. Absolutely. We have a high calling. A glorious calling. But what
we are by nature is what we've always been by nature. And what
we will always be by nature. And this nature, this Adamic
nature, this sinfulness that's in us, it's not going to get
any better. God will just finally have to
kill it. Then we'll be done with it. But
the Lord is all. Error spreads. The apostle said
in Acts chapter 20, he said to the Ephesian elders, he said,
I know that after my leaving, grievous wolves are going to
come in, not sparing the flock. What do grievous wolves bring
in? Error. And we've seen it happen to others. It's happened to other churches.
Listen, you know the Baptist denomination, and I'm not a big
Baptist guy, I'm not a Baptist in all capital letters, but if
you read a little bit of Baptist history, you know there was a
time in every Baptist church if the preacher got up and said,
I'm going to preach today on the sovereignty of God, everybody
knew what he was talking about. There was a time when that was
true. There was a time in the seminaries, in the Baptist seminaries,
they taught the truth. They taught salvation by grace.
Well, what has happened? What's happened in the last 150
years or so? Error slipped in and very slowly
just got away from the gospel. Where are they now? Now they
say, well, the Word of God isn't even inspired. They don't even
believe in creation anymore. Well, have they always been like
that? No. No. It started little. A little leaven leaveneth the
whole lump. Let's be careful. Let's be careful. He talks about error. Notice
in verse 18, he says, verse 17, he talks about these two men,
Hymenius and Philetus, who concerning the truth, they've erred. Here
were two men who were spreading error about the resurrection.
But we must not be discouraged. Even in the midst of error, don't
be discouraged because, look at verse 19, nevertheless, Nevertheless, lest we become weary and we think,
is all lost? Air is creeping in, it's spreading
everywhere like gangrene. Oh my, what's going to happen?
Well, hang on now. I don't want to paint too bleak
of a picture. Wait, verse 19, nevertheless, No matter what
ungodly men may do, no matter how error spreads, nevertheless,
the foundation of God standeth sure. And it has this seal, the Lord
knoweth them that are His. God's got His people. He knows
His people. You only have I known of all
the people of the earth. In the last day of judgment,
the Lord is going to say to some folks who bragged about knowing
Him and doing a lot of things for Him, He is going to say,
depart from Me! I never knew you! There are some
people in this world that God knows and there are other people
in this world that God doesn't know. You say, well, I thought
God knew about everything. I didn't say God didn't know
about them. He just didn't know them. There's a people that God
doesn't know. What in the world does that mean?
Over in the book of Genesis, in chapter 4 it says, And Adam
knew Eve his wife, and she conceived, and bare a son called his name
Cain. What does that mean? He loved her. He loved her. There's a people in this world
that our God loves with an everlasting love in Christ Jesus. He knows
His people. He spreads this love abroad in
their hearts. He loves them. He loves them. And God's foundation, God's decree,
God's everlasting purpose, it's founded on Christ Jesus, the
solid rock. And God's foundation, God's purpose,
it stands sure. It always stands sure. Standeth. E-T-H means there will never
be a time when it falls. Not one word of the Lord is going
to fall to the ground. Not one purpose of the Lord shall
fail to be accomplished. That which He has decreed shall
happen just exactly the way He decreed it and He has decreed
everything. So everything is working out
just exactly on time and right on schedule. This know also, he says in verse
1. This know also, that is while
error was indeed prevalent in those times, as we've indicated,
as we've read about here, he tells young Timothy, Things are
not going to get any better at Timothy. You think things are
going to get better? Oh, I hope things get better.
And Paul says, well, I tell you what, in the last times perilous
times shall come even as they are now. In fact, he even makes
this statement go over to verse 13 of chapter 3. He says, but
evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse. Oh, I'm looking
for a better day, preacher. Well, you're not going to find
it in this poor world. I hope things will get better.
They're not going to get better. They're going to get worse and
worse. That is religious error. I'm
not talking about, you know, the way people live and enjoying
the things. I'm not talking about that. But
when he talks about that What's going to get worse and worse
is evil men and seducers. You know what seducers are? Impostors. In fact, just write over seducers,
impostors. Impostors, there are going to
be more of them. You think there are a lot of
them now? There are going to be more of them. Where do they come from? They are the locusts that belts
forth out of the pit of the dam. Satan sends forth all of these
locusts into the world and they are everywhere. That is false
religion and false preachers going forth with the false message.
He says, evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse. Watch
this. Deceiving and being deceived. They are leading astray and they
themselves are led astray. Somebody was talking to me a
few days ago. I don't remember who it was.
We were talking about false preachers He said, do you think that they
know the truth? That they know they're deceived?
I think some of them do, but a lot of them, they're just so
deceived and they're deceiving others. They're just blind. They
just don't know. And they think they're doing
God a service. Isn't that what the Lord said to His disciples?
He said, they're going to kill you. These religious leaders,
they're going to kill you. And the whole time they're killing
you, they're saying, Lord, we're doing this for you. We're doing
this for you. To God be the glory. We're going
to kill another disciple. These seducers shall wax worse
and worse. False religion with its impostors
seduces people. It seduces people. No wonder
false religion is likened to a harlot. Look with me over in
the book of Revelation. Revelation chapter 17. This is Babylon. Antichrist religion. I was asked
the other day, somebody asked me if I thought the Pope was
Antichrist. I don't think he's the Antichrist,
but there's no question about what he is Antichrist. Well,
you shouldn't be unkind, preacher. Well, I've got to be honest.
He's a liar. He's a liar. And anybody who
thinks that that guy is telling the truth, you're as blind as
he is, you're as deceived as he is, if he's deceived. He's definitely a deceiver. Anybody
who says that he's the vicar of Christ, Anybody that uses
it kind of like that, He's allowed people to call Him Holy Father.
Our Lord Jesus addressed His Father, He said, Holy Father.
We have one Holy Father and it's not that pitiful looking old
man over there in Rome. He's an imposter. He's an imposter. He is anti-Christ. But He's not
the only one. He's not the only one. This false
religion, it's spread through all different denominations.
And there are people who are Baptists who are Antichrist. Presbyterians that are Antichrist. Methodists that are Antichrist.
I know some that's very obvious that they're Antichrist, but
anybody who's not for Christ Jesus as He set forth in the
Word of God, He said, if you're not for Me, you're against Me.
That's what He said. And if you're against Him, that
makes you anti-Christ. And there may be somebody in
here this morning, if you're not for Christ Jesus, If you
don't believe Him, and love Him, and follow Him, and bow to Him,
and adore Him, and worship Him as God over all, blessed forever,
as the only Savior of sinners, as the only mediator between
God and men, the man Christ Jesus, if you don't rest in Jesus Christ
the Lord, bless your heart, you are anti-Christ. You are anti-Christ. The Savior
said, you're either for me or against me. Which side are you
on? Old Moses drew a line in the sand. He called the Levites
over. He said, now, who's on the Lord's
side? And the Levites stepped over.
He said, everybody else. I tell you, if you're not for
us, you're against us. Hey, are you for us? Are you
for the Word of God? Are you for salvation by grace?
Are you for Christ Jesus, the sovereign Redeemer and King?
Are you for sovereign grace? If you're not for sovereign grace,
you're against sovereign grace. It's pretty clear cut, isn't
it? It's not rocket science. You
know, I just don't understand. Yes, you do. Yes, you do. Well, I don't understand what
you mean by sovereignty. Yes, you do. God reigns. You
understand that. He does whatever He wants to
do. Don't tell me, oh, that's too deep for me. No, it's not
too deep for you. You're just a rebel. You're just
a rebel. Well, I don't understand. Jesus
Christ only died for His elect. I just can't go along with that.
You're a rebel then. You're anti-Christ. Whoever He
died for, He redeemed. Whoever He died for, He reconciled. Whoever He died for, their sins
are put away. Whoever He died for, He brought
in everlasting righteousness for them. And whoever He didn't
die for, He didn't redeem them, He didn't bring in everlasting
righteousness for them, and He didn't reconcile them to God.
There. Can you understand that? That's pretty clear, isn't it? In all of false religion, the
Lord inspires His servant John to say, it's all Babylon. Like
a harlot. Look at verse 3, Revelation 9,
or 17. Revelation 17, verse 3. John says, so He carried me away
in the Spirit into the wilderness. Where is false religion? It's
out in the wilderness. Dry. dead, lifeless, barren,
out in the wilderness. And I saw a woman sit upon a
scarlet covered beast, full of names of blasphemy. Names of
blasphemy like His Holiness, Most Reverend, Holy Father, Vicar
of Christ. Full of names of blasphemy. blasphemy, having seven heads
and ten horns. And the woman was arrayed in
purple and scarlet color, decked with gold and precious stones
and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations
and filthiness in her fornication. What's in the cup? The liquor,
the wine of her false gospel. And she makes people drunk on
her wine. And you know that because if
you talk to people in false religion, it's like talking to somebody
who's inebriated. They're just drunk. A preacher, you know, I showed
them the Word of God, but they don't believe. What's happened
to them? They're drunk on the harlot's wine. You talk to somebody
who is physically inebriated. You know, you tell them reasonable
things and they don't get it. They just don't get it. You need
to stop your drinking. Well, I know, yeah. And it's
no use talking to somebody in that kind of condition. People
are inebriated on the wine of the harlot. And on her forehead,
verse 5, was a name written, Mystery Babylon the Great, the
mother of harlots and abominations of the earth. And I saw the woman
drunken with the blood of the saints, with the blood of the
martyrs of Jesus. And when I saw her, I wondered,
I was astonished with great admiration. She's filled with the blood of
the saints. Go all the way back to a man
by the name of Cain. filled with the blood of his
brother. He killed his brother because his brother Abel believed
in salvation by grace alone, in Christ alone, redemption alone,
salvation alone in the Savior by means of the smitten substitute. And he killed him. He killed
him. That false religion is beautiful.
She is very seductive. That's why she's likened unto
a harlot. She's very alluring. Preacher,
how can I avoid this harlot? How can I be preserved from her
treachery? Stay in the Word of God. You've
got to stay in the Word of God. You see, this book is the light
of God, and we don't have any light except His light. Over
to Proverbs chapter 6. Proverbs chapter 6. Look at verse 20. And in the
book of Proverbs, so often wisdom speaks of Christ Jesus. And the Lord is always sending
us to His Word. Look in Proverbs chapter 6 verse
20. My son, look how He describes
the Word of God. Keep thy father's commandment.
Proverbs 6 verse 20. Forsake not the law of thy mother.
Bind them continually upon thine heart. Tie them upon thy neck. When thou goest, it shall lead
thee. When thou sleepest, it shall keep thee. When thou awakest,
it shall talk with thee. For the commandment is a lamp. For the law is light. And the
reproofs of instruction are the way of life to keep thee from
the evil woman. Well, what evil woman? That woman
we just read about over there in Revelation chapter 17. That
harlot. Keep you from Babylon. From the
flattery. Oh, she'll flatter you. Oh, we
can't spell church without you. You ever see that on the sign? Can't spell church without you
is so important. And that's the way the harlot
makes you feel so needed. We need a person like you. We
could put you to work in our church just right now. I got
some things you could do. You just need to join up. That's
all you need to do. Well, be careful. She's got her
eye on you. The harlot wants you. Look at verse 24 again. To keep thee from the evil woman,
from the flattery of the tongue of a strange woman. Lust not
after her beauty in thine heart. Neither let her take thee with
her eyelids, for by means of a whorish woman a man is brought
to a piece of bread, and the adulterous will hunt for his
precious life." So I think it's just talking about literal, physical
adultery. Well, it is a warning about that,
but you know, the Scriptures are bifocal. The deeper meaning
of this is a warning about this spiritual harlot. This spiritual
harlot. I tell you, this book will keep
you from false religion, it will keep you from the heart. Chapter
7 of the book of Proverbs, if you'll look over there, chapter
7, it tells you The book will keep you from the lies of the
harlot. Chapter 7 verse 1, My son, keep
My words, lay up My commandments with thee, keep My commandments
and live in My law as the apple of thine eye, bind the Word of
God upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart,
say unto wisdom, say unto Christ Jesus, say to the Lord, thou
art my sister, thou art my near kinsman, and call understanding
of thy kinswomen, that they may keep thee from the strange woman."
That word strange is estranged or alienated. The alienated woman. "...from the stranger which flattereth
with her lips." And then he gives an illustration. He gives an
illustration of a fellow that this harlot is going after. And she gets him. And I tell
you, a false religion, unless God intervenes, she'll get you. She will. She's very powerful.
She'll seduce you. She will allure you. False religion
today is so beautiful. Oh, they're so family oriented,
preacher. They do so many good things. Look how they feed the poor and
they go into foreign countries, they build orphanages and they
build hospitals. Yeah, I know they do all that,
but that's the harlot at work. Watch out for the harlot now.
Watch out for the harlot. So he says in verse 6, the wind
up my house, I looked through my casement. He says, I'm beholding
and I saw this happen. And I beheld among the simple
ones, the word simple is foolish. Among the foolish ones, and literally
it means empty headed and empty hearted. That's what we all are
by nature. Isn't that right? Empty headed
and empty hearted. I discerned among the youths
a young man void of understanding." Boy, that's a natural man. Doesn't
have any understanding. He's passing through the street
near her corner. And I tell you, she's got a place
just about every corner, doesn't she? And he went the way to her
house in the twilight, in the evening, in the black and dark
night. And behold, there met him a woman
with the attire of a harlot and subtle of heart. She's loud and she's stubborn.
Her feet abide not in her house. I tell you, she is out to get
you. In fact, she's very desirous
to bring more in. She's loud and stubborn. She
won't take no for an answer. Now you know, come on, you're
going to come to our church. Now you're going to come to our
church now. She won't quit. And she'll send them out two
by two, and they'll knock on your door this week, and you
say, I'm just not in. They'll be back next week. They'll
be back next week. They just won't take no for an
answer. Now she's in the street, she
lies in wait at every corner. So she called him. And she kissed
him. And with an impudent face she
said unto him, I got peace offerings with me. This day I paid my vows. Therefore came I forth to meet
thee diligently, to seek thy face. I found thee. We love you. We care about you. We care about
your family. We care about your children.
And I decked my bed with coverings of tapestry, with carved works,
with fine linen of Egypt. Look, isn't our religion beautiful?
You ought to see our stained glass windows. They're just so
breathtaking. So breathtaking. And look at
these great paintings we've got. Aren't they awesome? Doesn't
it just give you a chill down your spine? I perfume my bed
with myrrh and aloes and cinnamon. Come, let us take fill of love
to the morning. Let us solace ourselves with
love. For the good man is not at home. He's gone on a long
journey. The Lord's gone back to heaven. He's left us in charge. He's taken a bag of money with
him. He'll come home. And he'll come home at the day
appointed to give us a reward that we're working for. And with
her much fair speech, she caused him to yield. And with the flattering
of her lips, she forced him. And he goes after her straightway
like an ox going to the slaughter. Or a fool to the correction of
the stocks. till a dart strike through his
liver, as a bird hasteth to the snare, and knoweth not it is
for his life. Hearken unto me now therefore,
O ye children, attend to the words of my mouth, listen to
the word of God. Let not thine heart decline to
her ways, go not astray in her paths, for she has cast down many wounded. Yea, many strong men have been
slain by her. She has a Lord and she's got
people to follow her who are stronger than you are. But let this be known, verse
27, for a house is the way to hell. Going down to the chambers
of death. Oh my! Preacher, what can prevent
this from happening to me? The Word of the Gospel. You've
just got to stay in the Gospel. You notice how these false prophets,
they don't make much of the Word of God. They don't read the Word
of God. Most of these false prophets,
you listen to them, they're like motivational speakers with a
little dab of religion thrown in. It makes you feel good. Oh,
I feel so good. And I come up here to church,
13th Street Baptist Church, and you just butcher me with the
gospel. I go out. I'm so bloodied. You tell me
what a sinner I am. I ain't got to go back and listen
to that old fellow on television. He talks about what a great guy
I am. May God enable us to listen to
the truth. You see, the truth won't hurt
you. The truth will do you good. You live by the truth. Find out
who God is. Find out where we are. Find out
who Christ Jesus is and what He did. And you find out that
salvation is all together by grace, and you just tell that
heart, hey, you just stay over there in your corner. God will
deal with you someday. But I'm not going to have anything
to do with you. I'm not going to buy from your bake sales.
I'm not going to help you build a church building. I'm not going
to get my car washed by you so you can send your youth off to
some kind of missionary thing or thingamajig. I'm dead to you. I'm alive to Christ Jesus. I'm
alive to the Gospel. I'll tell you, as a preacher,
that's pretty tough. Well, that's just the truth. That's just the truth. Hey, we've
got a lot at stake in this. I'm kind of interested in my
soul safety, aren't you? I'm not interested in being another
notch on some soul winner's gun. You know, being another number
for the harlots so that the harlots preachers can go on Monday to
their ministerial associated meetings and they say, how many
did you have this week? Well, I had more than I had last
week. I'm not interested in that junk. We'll just preach the gospel
here if it thins out the ranks. And I don't think it will. It
won't thin out God's people. Because God's people say, tell
it to us straight. Just be absolutely honest with
it. I heard Barnard say, honest people
don't wind up in hell. Just take the Word of God, what
it says, believe His Word. God help us to follow the Scriptures. To follow Christ Jesus. And I'm
going to really continue with this tonight. The same idea. Because in the next chapter,
the Apostle Paul says, preach the Word. That's what he told
Timothy. How can we help people? How can I help you? I want to
help you. I want to help me. I want to
help my children. I want to help my grandchildren.
I want to help you, my friends, my neighbors, my colleagues here. How can I help you? Preach the
Word. Just preach the Word. And God
will apply it where He wants to. That's His business. Our
business is just to preach the Word. Well, let's sing a song.
