dry rotted. And it had a little
crack down in the bottom. And I felt my leg beginning to
fill up with water. And I like to never got out of
that bad mystery. And I decided then, I'll just
change clothes from now on. So that's the reason it takes
me a little bit longer. Probably these are okay. They've
been inspected, but I don't know. I just kind of feel funny about
doing that. I hate to get stuck in the water
and not be able to get out and several of these men have to
come and bail me out. But anyway, we're thankful what
God's done for you, Joseph, and we rejoice in the Lord's goodness. For His glory, God has been pleased
to bless the word of late. And we rejoice in that greatly. And we do give Him all the glory. This evening, I'd like to speak
to you on the Savior and His seed. And I message this in the
morning hour We establish that in that final day, the day when
everybody is called to appear before the tribunal of God, there
will be just two groups of people. And those are the seed of the
wicked and the seed of the righteous. I read to you from the book of
Proverbs chapter 11 verse 21. The seed of the righteous, that's
the seed of Christ Jesus. After all, He is the righteous
one. There is nobody else who is originally and essentially
righteous but our Lord Jesus. And I also read to you from the
book of Psalms 37, 28 of the seed of the wicked. So you got
the seed of the wicked or the wicked one and the seed of the
righteous. As we look at Matthew chapter
13 this evening, we're going to see the seed of the righteous. I want to show you the Lord's
people, the Lord and His people, or the Savior and His seed. As you read through the scriptures,
you're going to discover that the word seed is used in various
ways. The book of Genesis, it's used
in chapter 4 and also chapter 15 to refer to one individual. Like Abraham said, Lord, you've
given me no seed. Meaning no heir. No heir. One born of my house. I need a seed. I need an heir.
After Abel had died. The scripture says that Adam
knew Eve, his wife, again, and she bare a son, and she said,
his name is Seth. For God, she says, has appointed
me another seed instead of Abel. So in the scriptures, the word
seed can be used to refer to a single individual, and indeed
it refers to our Savior. As our brother read to us from
Genesis chapter 3, He is the seed of the woman. That is, that's
the Lord Jesus. That is, the Messiah. Our Lord
was not born of the seed of man. He was born of a woman. There's a uniqueness in His birth. He's born of a virgin. He is
not the offspring of a sinful man. He did not come forth from
the womb as the result of a union of a man and a woman, as all
the rest of mankind has come forth, except for Adam and Eve,
of course. But our Lord was the uniquely
born one, born of a virgin, who was overpowered, overshadowed
by the Spirit of God, by the Spirit of holiness. He is the
seed of the woman. Also in the Scriptures we read
of the word seed with reference to the Word of God. Indeed, here
in Matthew chapter 13, and I'm going to be looking a little
deeper into the chapter, but as you know in the first 23 verses,
The Scripture speaks of, our Savior speaks of the seed of
the Word. A sower went forth to sow. And that which He is sowing is
good seed. It's the Word of the Gospel.
It is the Gospel of the Kingdom. It is the message of redemption.
It is the message of salvation. It is the message of substitution
and satisfaction. This is the Word of God. In fact,
look back with me in chapter 13, Look at verse 19, and you know
this parable of the sower. So I'm just going to read what
our Lord said about the sower and the seed. He says, When anyone
heareth the word of the kingdom, the word of the kingdom, that's
the seed that is sowed. And in each of these verses He
gives us that He sets before us that the word, the gospel
is the seed. It's good seed. It's the best
seed. It's the only seed to sow. Our Lord Jesus Himself is the
sower, but also all of God's preachers are the sowers. We
go forth sowing the seed, sowing the seed of the gospel. Now we
can't make it take root. We can't cause it to germinate. There is no way we can make the
seed effectual to the ears and to the hearts of those to whom
we speak. But we do sow good seed. It is absolutely the best seed. It is the quality, quality seed. And it is of this seed that we
are born again. Being born again, not of corruptible
seed, but of incorruptible. by the Word of God, which liveth
and abideth forever." This is the good seed of the Word of
God. And then faith is sometimes likened to a mustard seed. In Luke chapter 17, the Lord
said, if you had faith as a grain of mustard seed, So our faith
is like seed that the Lord, He sows it in us. Listen, He's got
to sow faith in us because it doesn't come naturally to us.
We don't have faith. Not all men have faith. Faith
has to be given to us. Faith has to be granted to us.
Faith is that which the Spirit of God, as it were, sows in our
souls. For by grace are you saved through
faith, and that not of yourselves." That seed is not of yourselves,
it is the gift of God. He gives us faith. He doesn't
believe for us. We believe. But we're only utilizing
that which He gave us, and that which He gave us the willingness
to do, to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. So, faith is likened
to seed in the Word of God. It's little, but it grows. And that's what we want for faith.
We want faith to grow. We want it to blossom. Oh God, you gave me faith to
believe you, to receive the gospel, to receive the Lord Jesus as
my prophet, priest, and king. Lord, make it to grow. I believe. Lord, I help Thou my unbelief. Make this seed of faith to grow
for Your glory so that I embrace You and I lean on You and I rest
on You only. And I don't fear the things of
the world and I don't get anxious. Oh God, cause my faith to grow. And only He can make the seed
to grow. Make no mistake about it. He
who gave it must increase it. And he must maintain it, because
we won't even persevere in the faith unless he preserves us. But then faith is used in yet
another way. It's used to refer to a group
of people, like we're speaking about today. Look at Matthew
chapter 13 verse 31, first of all. Matthew 13, 31, another parable
put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like
to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field,
which indeed is the least of all seeds. But when it is grown,
it is the greatest among herbs, and becometh a tree. so that
the birds of the air, they come and lodge in the branches thereof."
The mustard seed here is the church of our Lord Jesus, the
saints of God, the children of God. The Lord's people in this
world, especially after His resurrection and His ascension, the Lord's
people, His church was very, very little in this world. Very,
very small like a mustard seed. Just a little scene. Think of
all the millions and millions of people that lived on the earth
when our Lord Jesus ascended back to glory. And there's those
few saints in Jerusalem, those few believers, where He had established
His gospel. It was so small, it was scarcely
worth mentioning, that is, as far as the religions of the world.
To all the rest of the religions throughout the world, that little
body of believers, they weren't even worth noticing. They were
like nobodies in a world of great religion. Just a little seed. That's all it was. The work of the gospel. The gospel
of the kingdom. The growth of the kingdom. It's
a gradual thing. But it is consistent. And it
is ongoing. Like a grain of mustard seed. Just a little seed sown in the
ground. The growth is almost unobservable. But it's steady. It's steady. It's always growing. It's always
alive. It's always enlarging herself
because the Lord is enlarging it. You don't have to worry about
God's cause in this world. It's safe. It's safe. You don't have to worry about
God's people in this world. God will always have His people
in this world. He will always have a witness
to the gospel of Jesus Christ in this world until the very
end when He takes His elect home to glory to be with Him. His
gospel will accomplish His eternal purpose in the thing where to
He sends it. And just like the full-grown
mustard seed, it becomes the greatest and the largest of all
the herbs, so the gospel church, the kingdom of God, in the end
of the world, it's going to be great. It's going to be magnificent. It's going to be 10,000 times
10,000 and thousands and thousands of the people of God. In fact,
John said, I looked at them, they're from every nation, kindred,
tribe in the earth, redeemed out of the earth. He said, it's
so many you can't even count them. And it started from just
a little seed. Just a little imperceptible seed. Nobody even noticed those few.
But in the end, oh, how glorious it's going to be. I look at chapter
13 again here in verse 24. Here's another parable that our
Lord spake. Chapter 13, verse 24. Another
parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven
is like unto a man which sowed good seed in his field. He sowed
the gospel. But while men slept, his enemy
came and he sowed tares among the wheat and went his way. But
when the blade was sprung up and brought forth fruit, then
appeared the tares also. And so the servants of the householder
came and said unto him, Sir, didst thou not sow good seed
in thy field? It's always good seed, that which
the good sower sows. That which Christ Jesus sows
is always good. That's the only seed He can sow
is good seed. He said, didn't you sow good
seed in thy field? Well, where did these tares come
from? He said unto them, an enemy did this. The servants said unto
Him, wilt thou then that we go and gather them up? He said, no. lest while you're
gathering up the tares, you root up also the wheat with them. And I'll just kind of stop right
here and just say this. You know, there may very well
be tares in here tonight amongst the wheat of God's people, but
we're not qualified to know who they are. We can't tell who they
are. We're not going to start uprooting people lest we uproot
some of the wheat. I can't see your heart, you can't
see my heart. Why, there may be somebody in
this congregation who is a genuine, a genuine tear, a seed of the
wicked one, and yet you appear to be just like the seed of the
righteous. I can't tell. I don't know. I
heard one preacher one time say, when I preach to people, I can
tell who's a believer and who's not a believer. More power to
him, boy. He must be Superman or something.
I can just see right inside people's hearts. Well, you'd have to be
the Lord to know that. You'd have to be the Lord. When Simon Peter messed up like
he did, I bet a lot of people said, there's a terror! Get him
out of here! Whoa! Wait, he's weak. He's sweet. When David did what he did, I
bet there's some people, let's excommunicate him! Let's get
him out of here! He's a tear! Not so fast. Not so fast. He's sweet. He's good seed. I tell you, the
Lord's people, the good seed, we can mess up pretty bad, can't
we? And if you hadn't messed up real bad, the only reason
is because God has preserved you. Isn't that right? If we
hadn't embarrassed ourselves, if we haven't embarrassed our
families, if we hadn't brought shame on the Church of God and
on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, it's not because we're
such faithful people and we're such good people. Oh no, it's
because He's preserved us by His power and by His grace. I
tell you, you know what a child of God is capable of doing? Anything
a child of the wicked one can do, except by God's grace. Except by God's grace. Well, he said, let them both
go together. Now look down in verse 36. Then Jesus sent the multitude
away, and he went into the house. Here came His disciples behind
and they said, Lord, declare unto us the parable of the tares
of the field. And He answered and said unto
them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of Man. That's Himself speaking of Himself. He said the field is the world.
The good seed. That's what we're talking about. The good seed. Who are the good
seed? Well, it's the children of the
kingdom. The good seed? It's the seed of the righteous
one. These are the children of God. Well then, who are the tares? Well, they're the children of
the wicked one. They're the seed of the wicked
one, just like we said this morning. The enemy that sowed them is
the devil. Well then, what is the harvest?
Well, the harvest, that's the end of the world. Who are the
reapers? They are the angels. As therefore
the tares are gathered together and burned in the fire, so shall
it be in the end of the world. The Son of Man shall send forth
His angels. They shall gather out of His
kingdom all things that offend and them that do iniquity. Because
God hates the workers of iniquity. Psalm 5.5 says that. What's He
going to do with them? He's going to cast them into
a furnace of fire. There should be wailing and gnashing
of teeth. Well, what about the seed of
the righteous? Well, then shall the righteous,
they going to shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their
Father. Well, where do they get their
shine from? Where do they get their glory
from? Where do they get their brilliance from? Where do they
get their righteousness from? From their Savior. That's where.
We are made beautiful through His comfliness. Ezekiel chapter
16 says that. And then it says, who hath ears
to hear, let him hear. Here is a distinction then that
is made by our Savior. And to be absolutely certain
we understand this, this is an everlasting distinction. It is
manifested to a degree in time because the seed of the righteous
one will believe the gospel. And it will ultimately be manifested
in the end. when He gathers the sheep to
His right hand and the goats on the left. Here the seed of
the righteous one, here's the seed of the wicked one. But make
no mistake about it, this distinction is an everlasting distinction
that precedes time itself. There was a distinction made
by God before He made the world. And He said, these will be the
seed of the righteous one. The righteous one being Christ
Jesus the Lord. They were given to Him in covenant
grace and mercy. Entrusted to His care. And He, the righteous one, received
them as a gift. And He keeps them safe. Forever. These are the seed of the righteous. And those that were left, they're
the seed of the wicked one. You say, Preacher, do you believe
in double predestination or whatever you want to call it? I believe
in absolute predestination. I do. I believe God ordained
all things. If something happens, it happens
because God ordained it. I can't understand it. I can't
explain it. I'm like brother Scott Richardson.
I'm not in the explaining business. I'm in the proclaiming business.
I'm not here to explain that which is unexplainable to the
human mind. There's so much I don't understand
in my peanut brain, but I don't have to understand it. God's
ordained it. I can read that. I read that
of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be
glory forever. And all things means exactly
that, all things. And before the world began, here's
a distinction that was made. You say, why is it that some
people believe? Why is it that some receive the
gospel? Preacher, I've talked to my relatives,
I've talked to my friends, I've given them a bulletin, I've given
them a CD or whatever, I've expressed to them my love for the Savior,
but they won't believe. Why is it that some will believe
and some won't believe? Trace it back to God's distinguishing
purpose. established in old eternity.
There are some men that are marked out for everlasting life and
others are not. I have no quarrel with God on
that, do you? I'm not going to quarrel with
God over that. It says He made an election, He made a choice
between Jacob and Esau before they had done anything either
good or bad. We say God didn't choose Esau
because God saw what Esau would do. You need to go back and read
that scripture again. Before Esau did anything good
or bad, and we know the fact of the matter is all that he
could do was bad, God made a distinction. You're not going to be mine.
This one's going to be mine. Jacob have I loved. Read through
the Old Testament. Abel, he's the seed of the righteous. Well, who's Cain? He's the seed
of the wicked one. Ishmael, he's the seed of the
wicked one. Who's Isaac? He's the seed of
the righteous one. And you just go all the way through
the Old Testament, it's like that. Jacob is the seed of the
righteous one. Esau, he's the seed of the wicked
one. Who made the distinction, I ask
you? God did. God did. I know with some people that
say, that's just going too far. You can't go too far. You see,
it's this way. Either God is in charge of everything
and He's ordained everything or else there's something that's
not under His control. He has absolute Absolute authority. I know that this distinction
was made in old eternity and the full manifestation of it
will be evidenced in the end. How are we going to know He won't
separate? And it will be seen. We have
a lot of differences today. We have a lot of distinctions
today. There's the rich and the poor, the intelligent, the unintelligent,
the educated, the uneducated. Just go on and on. Different
nationalities, different languages, different races. We got so many
differences among people in the whole world. But really, like
I said this morning, there's just two groups of people. Those that are His. and the rest. The rest. It's like it says in
Romans. He has the election of grace
and the rest blinded. But who did that? God did that. God did that. And He's going to get the glory
for it. And we're going to bow to Him about this. See, this
is where man will have God to be a blesser and a healer Man
will have God be passing out his favors? They don't mind a
God like that. But when God steps up on His
throne and He starts exercising His sovereign right, that's when
men have an issue. That's where they get mad at
God. You're not mad at God, are you? Well, I thought He was the potter. He's got power over the same
lump. to make one vessel to honor and
another vessel to dishonor. Here's a man who, he's a potter. He takes a lump, he's got a lump
of clay. It's all just alike. And he makes one vessel, and
it's worthy to be put up on the mantle of a king. And then out
of that same lump, he says, you know what? I think I'll make
a spit tune out of this. If he can just spit in this or
make a bedpan out of it, that's his right, isn't it? Well,
sure it is. And this is where men quarrel
with God over his sovereign authority and right. but you will bow to
this sovereign God. This is the God with whom we
have to do. Not this mealy-mouthed five and
ten cent store God preached from most pulpits today, but the God
who is God. The God who conducts himself
as God. The God who's worthy to be worshipped
and adored and bowed down to. And you will bow down, proud
sinner. And me too. Me too. Say, Lord, whatever you do, that's
right. It's right if you do it. There's Israel in Egypt. One's
as rotten as the other one. God chose one nation. The other
one had no use for it. No. They'll fulfill His purpose
and He cast them aside. And then some little worm of
the dust stands up on his hind legs and says, that's not fair! Who are you to reply against
your maker? Who do you think you are to open
your mouth to God Almighty? Boy, men today, they just, they've
got some nerve, don't they? Folks got some, it's just not
fair of God to do that. I believe I'd just get away from
you if you could talk like that. Because this God who exercises
His sovereign right, He might just send a bolt of light in
your way right now, I don't know. And one of these days, He will
get you. He always does what's right. And He made a distinction,
so let it be understood. This is an everlasting distinction. God made it. God made it. Well, what about this seed? I'll
give you several things. Number one, it is a chosen seed. Turn to 1 Peter chapter 2. What about the seed of the righteous
one? 1 Peter chapter 2. And while I'm on this, I don't
like to hear people say, you know, the Lord allows things
to happen. I don't even find that in Scripture.
Well, you know, God allows people to do this. I've never read of His permissive
will and His ordaining will. I've never seen in the Scriptures
that there's a distinction. I just read about the will of
God. Don't you? I just read about the will of
God. Well, God just allows that to happen. in some way mysterious to our
poor puny brains. Almighty God, before the world
began, He ordained every single thing that will ever happen in
this world. I can't explain it. You hear us ago, I was teaching
a Bible class. A lady raised her hand, I was
teaching on sovereignty. A lady raised her hand and said,
yes ma'am. She said, you say God's got a purpose for everything?
I said, yes ma'am. She said, what's the purpose
of a fly? What's the purpose of a fly?
And what had happened, I was swatting it in one. And I said,
well, right now he's sent it to irritate me a little bit.
But I said, I do believe, they're very polite. of that fly, its existence, where it started,
where it's going to wind up. I believe my God ordained everything
about it. Now, that's how particular I
am about it. Nancy and I was sitting out on
the back porch and she got bit by a mosquito three times. She
said, oh, I hate mosquitoes. I said, well, God made them.
I don't know why he had that and bite you. Maybe it's three
of them bit you. I don't know. That's what you
get. It's sweet, I reckon. But see, I believe all those.
I believe every speck of dust. All preacher, God doesn't concern
himself with that. It's his creation. He oversees
all things. And I'm going to tell you something.
This religious world doesn't know anything about that kind
of God. They don't know anything about
a God who conducts all things by His providence to the end
that He predestinated. And they sure enough don't know
anything about salvation by sovereign grace. But this seed, they're
a chosen seed, 1 Peter chapter 2 and verse 9. But you are a
chosen generation. You are your royal priesthood. You're a holy nation, a peculiar
people, that you should show forth the praises of Him who
called you out of darkness to His marvelous light, which in
time past were not a people, but now you are the people of
God, which have not obtained mercy, but now have obtained
mercy. You are a chosen generation." And that word generation, it's
seed. You're a chosen seed. Why? Why? Why was I made to hear
God's voice? Because He chose you. Why was
I made to hear the Gospel and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ?
To believe in salvation by redemption and the reconciliation of our
Lord Jesus and salvation by imputed righteousness and forgiveness
by the blood. Why is it that I believe? God
chose me to believe. God ordained me to believe. Acts
13, 48, as many as were ordained to eternal life, that's who believed. The reason, Joseph, you believe
this gospel and you were willing to confess the Lord in believer's
baptism tonight? Because God ordained you to.
God appointed you. He appointed you to everlasting
life. Isn't that wonderful? That just
breaks your heart. Breaks my heart. I said, Lord,
thank you, thank you. I'll be thanking Him throughout
the ceaseless ages of eternity. And there'll never be thanks
enough for choosing me. You could have chose somebody
else. Others in my family. You pass them by. The seed of
the wicked one. Here's the seed of the righteous
standing in front of you. He makes a difference. It's a
chosen general. I'll tell you something else
about this seed. It's a blessed seed. Yes, indeed. Look at Isaiah 61.
Isaiah chapter 61. Isaiah chapter 61, look at verse
9. Isaiah 61 verse 9. and their seed shall be known
among the Gentiles, and their offspring among the people. All
that see them shall acknowledge them, that they are the seed
which the Lord hath blessed in that glorious end day, the last
day, the final day when time shall be no more. And all of
those who are heathen, the non-elect, the seed of the wicked one, they
shall observe the people of God, and the angels of God shall see
us too, and they will say, they're the seed which the Lord hath
blessed. That's who those are. Well, when were we blessed? We
were blessed before the world began in Jesus Christ. How many
blessings were we blessed with? All of them. If there's a spiritual blessing
that God's got, He's blessed us with it. Every last one of
them. What about this seed? Look at
Isaiah 53. Number 3, it's a redeemed seed. Isaiah chapter 53. I don't have time to read the entire
chapter, but just look at verse 10. Isaiah 53 verse 10, Yet it
pleased the Lord to bruise him. Who did this to Christ? The Father
did. He hath put him to grief. When
thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed. He shall see his seed. He shall
prolong his days. and the very pleasure of the
Lord shall prosper in his hand. We preach a prosperity gospel
here. I know the charismatic say, oh,
we preach a prosperity gospel with three cars in every garage
and a million dollars in the bank. No, no. We preach the prosperity
gospel of the death of our Lord Jesus Christ. It prospered in
the mind and heart of God Almighty. This is a prosperity gospel.
It accomplished everything God purposed for it to accomplish.
The death of our Savior. And I'll give you this. Look
at Isaiah 43. Just stay in Isaiah here for
a little bit. Isaiah 43. This seed shall effectually
be brought to Jesus Christ. Isaiah 43. Look at verse 4. Since thou was precious in my
sight, Thou hast been honorable, and I have loved thee. Therefore
will I give men for thee, and people for thy life. Fear not,
for I am with thee. I will bring thy seed, he says
to Jesus Christ. The Father says, I will bring
thy seed. Where are you going to bring
them from? From everywhere. From the east and from the west,
and I will say to the north, give them up. And to the south, keep not back,
bring my sons, bring my seed from far and my daughters from
the ends of the earth. Even everyone that is called
by my name, for I created him for my glory, I have formed him,
yea, I have made. Bring my seed to me. That's the
effectual call of grace. And I tell you, this gospel goes
forth It will do God's job. Look with
me. Go to Psalm 22. Let me show you two verses here. Psalm 22. And I've got to go
quickly. I let you out earlier this morning,
so I'm saving that time for tonight. Psalm 22, verse 30. This is the psalm of the cross. The psalm of the dying Savior. Psalm 22, verse 30. The seed
shall serve Him. It shall be accounted to the
Lord for a generation. Now look at verse 31. They shall come. Boy, that encourages
my heart as a preacher. They shall come. They shall come
to Christ. They shall come. Because God
said so. This seed, wherever they are,
whoever they are, maybe you're one of them. And you hadn't been
brought. One of these days, you're going
to come. Because the Lord says, they shall
come. And here's what they're going
to do. They shall declare His righteousness. unto a people
that shall be born. And you know what all the seed
says? He hath done this. Literally, it is accomplished. Or, it is finished. You got two
statements from the cross in this 22nd Psalm. Back up to the
first of the Psalm, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
And right here at the end, He hath done this. It's finished. It's accomplished. And I'll give you a couple here
without looking to the verse. If you take a note, Romans chapter
4 verse 16, the seed will believe Jesus Christ. This seed will
believe Jesus Christ. And I'll tell you something else,
number 6 in Isaiah 45, 25. Look at this one with me. Isaiah
45, 25. You're not too far away here. This is a justified seed. Starting in verse 22, look unto
me, and be ye saved all the ends of the earth. Isaiah 45, 22. For I am God, there is none else. I have sworn by myself, the word
is gone out of my mouth in righteousness and shall not return, that unto
me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear. Surely shall
one say, In the Lord have I righteousness and strength, even to Him shall
men come, and all that are incensed against Him, all the seed of
the wicked one shall be ashamed. In the Lord shall all the seed
of Israel be justified, and shall glory with glory in Him." All
the seed justified, Justified by grace. Justified by blood. They receive this justification. The scripture says justified
by faith. And we justify our faith by our works. That is,
we give an evidence of our faith by our works. It's not an evidence
to us. It's an evidence to others, right?
It's an evidence to others. We're justified. And I'll tell
you this, this seed is in Jesus Christ. Yes sir. And I'm going to get you to turn
this with me. In 1 John chapter 3. 1 John chapter
3. 1 John chapter 3. I wish I could One of these days we'll expound
upon this. I know you've heard exposition
of it before, but for the sake of our time, go down to verse
number 9. Whosoever is born of God does
not commit sin. You say, well, I sin every day. Yeah, me too. But you see in
verse 5, in Christ is no sin. And guess where we are? We're
in Christ. And in Christ, in Him, there's
no sin. We don't have any sin. You're
going to say, well preacher, you just said you sin every day.
I know, but before God Almighty, no sin is registered against
me. None. So verse 9, whosoever is
born of God doth not commit sin, you know why not? For his seed
remaineth in him. That is, the seed of the Lord
Jesus, we remain in Him. We're in Him. We've always been
in Him. Since before the world began.
We're united to Jesus Christ. Oh, I love the truth of the union
of the believer and the Savior. And it's an everlasting union.
We're in Him. God put us in Him before the
world began, and once you're in Him, nobody's going to get
you out. Nobody. And then, well, let me
see if I've got time to squeeze in two more references. Look
at Psalm 89. Look at Psalm 89. Buddy read from this to begin
the service. Look at Psalm 89. This seed, they shall endure
forever. The seed of the righteous one,
they shall endure forever. Will endure as long as He endures.
Psalm 89, look at verse 4. This is what the Lord said. He
said, Thy seed, He made this covenant with David. And so often
in the Psalms, when you read the name David, just think of
the name Jesus Christ. David's son and David's Lord. Look at verse 3, I have made
a covenant with my chosen. God says I have sworn unto David
my servant. What did he swear? Thy seed will
I establish forever and build up thy throne to all generations. Look down at verse 29. His seed also will I make to
endure forever, and His throne as the days of heaven. You see,
His seed will endure as long as His throne endures. Well,
how long is the throne of God, God our Savior, how long is that
going to endure? Forever! That's how long the
seed will endure. And then look at verse 36. His
seed shall endure forever, just like His throne as the sun before
me. And then one more verse. Go back
to Psalm 22. And I'll give you this and I'll
quit. I promise. Psalm 22 verse 30 again. He simply says this. A seed shall
serve you. The seed shall serve you. We're serving in this life. What
does it mean to serve the Lord? It means to worship Him. It means
to fear Him. And it says this seed they shall
serve Him. There are no ifs or maybes. They
shall. They shall believe Him. They
shall adore Him. They shall honor Him. They shall
praise Him. And they shall worship Him. This seed. And I tell you, In
Psalm 112 verse 2, His seed shall be mighty upon the earth. It's
a lot of people. A lot of people. Every once in a while you talk
to somebody and say, well, I just don't think there's anybody else
that believes this gospel. Well, I tell you what, He's got
a seed throughout the world. People we don't even know about.
Never will know about until we get to glory. Then when we get
to glory, we're going to recognize. I believe we'll know everybody
in heaven. Don't you? I do. I believe we'll know everybody
in heaven. The disciples, they knew Moses
and Elijah. Well, nobody ever took a photograph
of them. How'd they know Moses? How'd they know Moses was Moses
and Elijah was Elijah? Because the Lord gave them that
understanding. And in heaven, we're going to know all the seed.
Millions and millions and millions of people. Our family. Who are they? They're the seed
of the righteous one. They're his seed. Well, let's
sing the closing song.
