And that's the only kind of people
God saves, is sinners. And He's the only one who can
make you one. Nobody else can make you a sinner. Only God can
do that. Even when people face the Lord,
they'll say, have we not? cast out devils. Have we not
preached the gospel? Have we not all the things that
they said? We've done all these things.
And He'll say, depart from me, ye that work iniquity. I never
knew you. It's one thing to do something,
you know, folks out here doing something for Jesus, but Christ
only come to save sinners. And He's the only one who can
actually make you a sinner. A preacher made sinner, he ain't
gonna last long. But if God makes you a sinner,
you will be a sinner all the days of your life until you go
to be with Him. And that's what makes us need
Christ all the time. We got to have Him. Got to have
Him. Got to have Him. Just must have
Him. We're gonna have a baptismal service after this morning's
meeting. before we go to dinner, Trey
and Randy Roberts are going to be baptized this morning. And
I'm looking forward to it. It's been a long time since that
baptistry has been full. If the Lord moves on anybody
else's hearts to come, you know, listen, I'm already wet, so just
come on. Just come on. If the Lord moves
you to come, you come. Yes, you come. All right, Psalm
46. God is our refuge. and strength,
a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though
the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into
the midst of the sea, though the waters thereof roar and be
troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof,
There is a river, the stream, whereof shall make glad the city
of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the Most High.
God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved. God shall
help her, and that right early. The heathen raged, the kingdoms
were moved. He uttered his voice, the earth
melted. The Lord of Hosts is with us.
The God of Jacob is our refuge. Come, behold the works of the
Lord, what desolations he hath made in the earth. He maketh
wars to cease under the end of the earth. He breaketh the bow,
cutteth the spear in sunder. He birthed the chariot in the
fire. Be still and know that I am God. I will be exalted among
the heathen. I will be exalted in the earth.
The Lord of Hosts is with us. The God of Jacob is our refuge. I, king of heaven, be thou'st
art. Thank you, Houston. Oh, such
a blessing. I wanted you to look here with
me in Psalm 46. I'm going to go through this
psalm and make a few comments on it. Psalm 46. I want to talk
about the believer's confidence. The believer's confidence. God's
got confidence. God's people are confident people. Now, they're like what the apostle
said, you know. He said, we are the true circumcision. which worship God in the Spirit,
rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh. We know that in us, in our flesh,
dwells no good thing. So where is our confidence at?
It's in God. It's in Christ. That's where
it's at. Don't have no confidence in what we are, what we do, or
what we accomplish. But we have our confidence in
God. And I can't help but be skeptical
about those who act as if God's going out of business whenever
they're upset or afraid of something. When something goes wrong, they
think, well, where's God at? What's He doing? But here in
this psalm, in this psalm, the confidence of the Lord's people
is in their God. All of us, yes, the Lord's people
have trials. All of us have trials. Yes, we
all know what troubles are. Every one of us do. Yes, we have
fears. Yes, we have anxieties. Yes,
we have questions. We have questions. But God's
people don't fall apart whenever something happens. They don't
feel like God is done going out of business. And they don't excuse
themselves by saying, well, I'm just weak. Our Lord told us that
my grace is sufficient for thee, and my strength, my strength
is made perfect in your weakness, your weakness. The weaker you
are, the more grace you get. His strength is made perfect
in your weakness. And so that's why we look to
the Lord. And here are some wonderful things
in this Psalm, I believe that'll show you your confidence, our
confidences in God. First of all, we have an infallible
refuge. Look here in verse one. What
an infallible refuge. That's why our confidence is
in God. An infallible refuge. God is our refuge and strength,
a very present help in time of trouble. Now, when you have a
refuge, God is our refuge and strength. When you have a refuge,
that means you get in that refuge. You're hid in that refuge. You
got a place to go. Whenever troubles and trials
and storms and things come, we got a place to go. And that's
in God. God himself is our refuge, hid
in God. What a blessed hiding place.
What a glorious refuge. I want to show you something.
Look with me over here in Deuteronomy 33 and verse 27. You know, the
apostle told us that you're dead and your life is hid with Christ
in God, hid with Christ in God. What a blessed place. You know,
we're the safest place. I heard an old preacher say one
time, the best place to hide from God's in God. You know,
and then when Christ, our life shall appear, that we shall appear
with him also in glory. And look what he said here in
Deuteronomy 33, 27, the eternal God, who? The eternal God is
thy refuge and underneath are the everlasting arms, underneath
you. You're hidden in Him, then He's
got His arms underneath you. And He shall thrust out the enemy
from before them, before thee, and thou shalt say, destroy them. Oh, the eternal God is our refuge. And we're hidden in Him and His
everlasting arms. He's the eternal God. And we
need a refuge. We need a refuge from sin. Oh,
we need a refuge from sin. Sin is the awfulest thing. Sin
is a terrible thing. Sin is a damning thing. Sin is
a powerful thing. We need a refuse from sin. And
where can we hide from sin? Who can put our sin away? Nobody
but the Lord Jesus Christ. We need a refuse from the wrath
of God. Place to get away from God. Where
we're not wrath of God will never bother us and never fall on us
because it's already fell on the Lord Jesus Christ. We need
a hiding place from temptations. Oh Lord, deliver me from temptation. Save me from temptations. We
need a refuge from this world. This world gets so troublesome.
This world gets to be such a burden. This world, and we, you can't
find hardly any good news anywhere. We need a refuge from our inabilities. We need a refuse from our fears.
We need a refuse from our troubles. And look what it says here. He's
a present help in the time of trouble. Present. That means
he's always there. Where are we at that God's never
there? He's always there. And then look what it says, God
is our refuge. And oh my, bless his holy name. What a blessed hiding place to
be hidden in God, a glorious refuge. And we hide, where do
we hide at? We hide in his love. He loved
us with an everlasting love. And with cords of loving kindness,
he drew us. So we hide in his love. Oh, to
hide in war and just bless. I am my beloved's and my beloved's
mine. And so we hide in His love. You
know why we hide in it? It's eternal. Your mama sings
all the time, said, He loved me ere He knew me, before He
ever knew me. She loves that song and sings
it all the time. In Him I stand, in Him I stand. We hide in His love, it's eternal.
It never was a beginning to it and there'll never be an end
to it. And it's unchangeable. We change and our love changes
and we go through all things in this world. But one blessed
thing about Him, God's love never towards us ever changes. Never
changes. You up, He don't love you anymore. You down, He don't love you any
less. When you sin, He loves you the same. Having loved His
own, He loved them unto the end. Oh, we hide in His grace. Oh, what a blessed place to immerse
yourself in is the grace of God, the blessed grace of God. And
grace, He gives us grace for grace. Oh, to hide in the grace
of God, not to give ourselves an excuse for sin, but to hide
in that grace. I'm saved by grace. I'm secured
by grace. eternally saved by grace. And
grace is given to us every day of every moment. And even when
we're sleeping, God gives us grace. And it's a gift. He gives it to us. Just keeps
giving and giving and giving. And oh, bless His name. We hide
in His mercy. Oh, we hide in His mercy. Oh
Lord, be merciful to me. The Lord is, merciful to all
who call upon him. And in his mercy, he's not giving
us what we deserve. If we hide in his power, hide
in his power. Listen, he's got it all. He's got it all. So we hide in
his power to hold us up. We hide in his power to protect
us. We hide in his power that will
take us and carry us all the way to glory. His power. You
see beloved we are eternal souls and our spirit and our souls
we just we're this is a body that's getting weak weary and
just failing failing failing failing failing and this gets
weaker all the time and we never know what's going to happen to
it but this body is not us our souls is us our spirit is us
that eternal part of us And our spirit and soul, because we're
eternal, we need an eternal refuge. And here is perfect safety from
anything that can hurt us in any way is in Him. Right? And there's a lot of things going
to hurt us before we leave here. But my eternal soul, my eternal
spirit is hid in God. And I look forward to going to
that eternal refuge. Here's the first thing. That's
why we have confidence in God, an infallible refuge. God is
our refuge. He's our strength. And then look
here, we have an immovable confidence. Look what he says there. verse
2 and 3. Oh, what an immovable confidence.
Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and the
mountains be carried into the midst of the sea, the waters
roar, and there be troubled, though the mountains shake with
the swelling thereof. And I tell you something, let
me tell you this, this earth is going to be removed, and it
is going to be removed. But when the earth is removed,
Our soul is safe because it dwells in God. And this earth will be
removed one of these days. You want me to show you that?
Look over in 2 Peter 3. Let me show you that. And you
know over in Isaiah 66, I believe it, it says the same thing. But
here in 2 Peter 3, in verse 10, look what it says here. And all
this, and aren't we This earth is going to be removed. The mountains
are going to be removed and you know it you see these earthquakes
That's what he's talking about. Also these earthquakes that come
them mountains fall down new mountains come all around down
on people But oh my look what he says here second Peter 3 10,
but the day of the Lord is will come as a thief in the night,
in which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise. We're
going to hear it. And the elements shall melt with
fervent heat. The earth also and the works
therein shall be burned, seeing then that all these things shall
be dissolved. What manner of persons ought
you to be in all holy manner of life in Godliness? Listen
to it now. Looking for and hasting Unto
the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on
fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with
fervent heat. Nevertheless, we, according to his promise,
look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. So that's what, you know, it's
gonna be removed, but we're hidden in God. And not only that, but
our house, this house that we live in is built upon a rock.
Our salvation's built upon a rock. Our Lord Jesus Christ said, upon
this rock, I build my church and the gates of hell shall not
prevail against it. The world's in atonement. It's
in a torment. If the foundations are destroyed,
what's righteous going to do? What we've always done. We're
going to trust God. And the foundations of America,
the foundations of the world are crumbling. Well, let it fall. Let it fall. We'll not fear. God's our refuge. God's our help. And here he's talked about these,
you know, the mountains and the valleys. He's the God of the
mountains. He's the one that made them.
He's the God of the valleys. He's the God of the sea. He does
His will in the armies of heaven among the inhabitants of the
earth. Everything that He pleases to do in the heaven, earth, and
seas, He does. And what a sweet rest we have
in the Lord Jesus Christ. And I tell you though, the earth
roar and the mountains shake and everything goes wrong. Listen,
we are hidden in God. We are hidden in God. And then
look here. Oh, listen, what a confidence
we have. It's immovable. God, God, He's
the God of the mountains. He's the God of this world. He's
the God of this universe. Then look what it says here in
verse four. Oh, what a supply we have, an infinite supply.
He said, there is a river. There is a river. Oh my, where
is it at? The streams whereof shall make
glad the city of God. The holy places are the tabernacles
of the most high. Oh my, there's a river. The streams
whereof make glad the city. There's a river flowing right
now. Where's it coming from? Come from God. What does he bring?
He brings the gospel. He brings grace. He brings help,
He brings hope, He brings faith. And He comes, and I tell you
what, and it makes glad the people of God. Look over here in Psalm
36 with me, in verse eight. Oh, this is what He says here.
They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house,
and thou shalt make them drink of the rivers of thy pleasure. Go make them do it. Not gonna
ask if they want to. Not gonna say, would you like
to? I hope you'd try it. He said, I'm gonna make them
do it. And oh, listen, oh, listen. And all we need, all we need
comes from that blessed stream. All we need comes from, we need
forgiveness, it comes from God. We need justification, it comes
from God. We need perfection, we need completeness,
it comes from God. We need sanctification, it comes
from God. assurance? It comes from God.
And it flows from the throne of God where Christ sits on the
right hand of God. I want you to look in Revelations
22 talking about a river, talking about a river that flows from
God. Revelations 22, Revelations 22 and verse 1. Oh my, it now
flows from the throne of God where Christ sits on the right
hand of God. Flows through the Gospel. as
we rejoice in our Lord Jesus Christ. Look what he said here
in Revelations 22. And he showed me a pure river
of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne
of God. Cross it there, pure, pure river,
clear stream coming from the throne of God in the Lamb. And
that's what he says, there is a river and it comes and it flows
and all out of it flows all, it flows encouragement, it flows
blessings, it flows strength, it flows grace, it flows justification,
it flows perfection, It flows and just keeps on flowing. You
never will run this river dry. Down here, rivers run dry. And
that's why our Lord Jesus stood and cried in that last day of
the feast, if any man's thirsty, let him come to me and I will
give him to drink. I'll give him to drink. And then
not only that, but he leads us beside the still waters in his
glorious will and purpose. And we drank, we drank from the
rivers of God's eternal truth. His truth is like himself. It's
eternal, never changes. And that's what we drink from
eternal truth. You know what a blessing it is?
I don't know if we ever really stop and think about the blessing
that God gives us that he taught us, not we, he taught us the
truth, the truth about himself. You know how many people don't
know a thing in the world about God? How many preachers don't
know nothing about God? There's a fellow on the radio,
I heard him say the other day. He says, you know, he said, what
I will pray for us is that we will fulfill the dream that God
has for us. Our congregation, our church
will fulfill the dream that God has for us. You reckon God dreams?
That's what I'm talking about. Now that's a preacher, a church
in this county, in this town. And that's why I say, you know
what a blessing it is that God made you know that He is God?
that He is God, that He rules and He reigns and He's sovereign
and He's almighty and that He does what He wills to do. Man's
will, if man has a will to know God, God makes him willing in
the day of His power. You know what a blessing it is
to know that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, and that
He came into this world to die for a particular people called
His sheep. And He shed His blood for His
sheep. He laid down His life for His sheep. His soul was an
offering for His people. And then not only that, but He
shows us what a blessing it is. Do we ever consider that God
Himself made us and taught us and revealed us what wretched,
miserable, helpless, hopeless men and women we are, sinners
from the top of our head to the sole of our feet, from the inside
of our bodies to the outside of our skin. and that Christ
came here to save people like that, and he won't save anybody
until he makes them know that this is it. And you know why
you're not saved in this congregation? You ain't never become a sinner.
If you ever become a sinner, you'll go to Christ just as fast
as you can get there. And once you get there, you'll
stay there. You'll never leave. You'll hide
in him. You'll bow down before him and
you'll say, cover my defenseless head with thy blessed wings. Oh, listen, and then not only
that, but to know Christ is the only Savior. There's not another
Savior. There's not another Savior. There's
not another Savior in this universe. He's the only one that can save
a man. He's the only one that can satisfy
God. He's the only one that can take
us to God. He's the only one that can make
us acceptable in the sight of God. And then, bless his name,
he taught us this. He taught us this, that once
he saves us, we're saved eternally. Saved eternally. Huh? All right. Oh, there flows from a stream,
from God a stream, where it makes glad. That makes me glad, I say. It makes me glad. Oh, blessed
are they that know that joyful sound. Look what else it says
in verse seven, verse five. Oh, an unfailing comfort. God
is in the midst of her. Oh my, the city of God. That's
who he is. In the midst of her, she shall
not be moved. God shall help her in early. The heathen raised the kingdoms
were moved. He uttered his voice. The earth
melted. The Lord of hosts is with us. The God of Jacob is
our refuge. God is in the midst of her. You
know what our Lord said? He said, wherever two or three
are gathered together in my name, God will be right there. Ain't
that what he said? Oh, my. God shall help her. He's in the midst of her. He
shall help her. And then he does it really, really
early. I mean, always. And then, you
know, and then he uttered his voice. He uttered his voice in
verse six. The Lord of hosts, he said in
verse seven, is with And you know, when he talks about the
Lord of Hosts, that means He's the armies of heavens, His. And God is for us. Oh my, God's
in the midst of us. I heard a preacher preach one
time about all Just in the New Testament, how many times people
told the Lord Jesus Christ to depart from them? Could you imagine
somebody telling the Lord Jesus Christ to depart from me? But
they did it. Samaritans did it. And oh, listen,
but oh my, I want God. I want Him in the midst of us.
I want His presence. We need His presence. And He
shall help us, help us. God is for us, God is in us,
and He's among us. And Christ in you, that's the
hope of glory. God's in the midst of her. God's
gonna help her. Let me ask you this. I know the
answer, even though I'm gonna ask it. So it's kind of a rhetorical
question. God shall help you, isn't that
right, Ernie? Has God ever, ever failed to
be on time? Ever failed you in any way? Has
God ever, ever failed? Has He ever let you down? Has
He ever not been there when you call on Him? Has He ever not
been there when you need Him? Has He ever not been there when
you're at the end, as we say in this vernacular, when you're
at the end of your rope? Has He never, is He always there?
He said He's a very present, very present help. And He uttered
His voice. And when He uttered His voice
to us, He speaks peace. He speaks comfort. But He utters
His voice. He speaks from His Word, speaks
through His Word. And sometimes He rebukes us,
but at least He speaks. At least He utters His voice.
And here's another thing about it. Not only does He utter His
voice, but we hear it. We hear it. When He utters His
voice, we hear it. We hear Him speak to us. He speaks
to us in His Word. And then He's our continual protection. Oh my. He says down there, In
verse 7, the God of Jacob is our refuge. Do you remember what's
special about Jacob? Jacob had a loved. Jacob had
a loved. God appeared to Jacob. God separated
Jacob from his mother's womb. God chose Jacob. God blessed
Jacob. God laid hands on Jacob. God
changed Jacob's walk. God changed Jacob's name. God
changed Jacob's relationship. And that same God, the God of
election, The God of love, loved us, separated us from our mother's
womb, called us by His grace, that's our refuge. That same
God. That ladder that descended from heaven, that's the God of
our refuge. God came down in Christ and met
Jacob. Look at Exodus 33 with me. Exodus
33 verse 14. My he was chosen on purpose Jacob
was he inherited the blessings look what he says here in verse
14 Exodus 33 and He said God said this my presence shall go
with thee and listen to this and I will give thee rest And
he said unto him spoke to the Lord said Lord if your presence
go not with me Don't do nothing. Don't let us move. Don't move
us. Do not move us if you're present. Don't go with us. All right,
look in verse 8 and 9. Look here in verse 8 and 9. Look
what a blessed prospect we look at. Come, behold the works of
the Lord. What desolations hath he made
in the earth? He maketh wars to cease. Unto
the end of the earth he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear
and sunder. He burneth the chariot in fire. Come, behold. His works, come behold His desolation,
come behold what He hath made, He makes wars to cease, and come
behold His works. You want to know where His works
is? You're looking at them. Look to the person next to you,
a fair believer. Just look at them. And that's the works of
God. We're the works of God. They
asked him, said, Lord, what is the works that we must do, that
we can do to be saved? He said, this is the work of
God. Not a work you do, but this is the work of God. God works
this in you, to believe on his son. God works it in you. And
oh my, look what he says here, behold his works. If that's what
he does, and oh my, this looks forward and it looks backwards.
This is what he did and he won't change. He said, come behold
his works. We look back to what he said and we look forward to
what he's doing. What he did back there, he does
now. God ain't never changed. He opened
the Red Sea, he still opens the Red Sea for us. Saved his people
from storms, he still saves his people from storms. He walks
on the water to come to you. He still comes through troublesome
times in the middle of the night to come to you. Oh, he's still
coming. He's not changed. And then, oh,
listen, he hath made desolations. You know what he made desolations
of? Men and their works, men and their ways. I mean, man at
his best estates altogether vanity. Oh, he makes desolations of men's
work. He drove Adam from the garden. He rejected Cain because
he come with the works of his own hand. He destroyed Sodom
because they thought they were somebody. And he took Jacob and
brought him down to nothing. And when nations, you know how
many nations he's made desolate of the gospel of Christ? How
many nations you can go and you can't find the gospel? Go to
Saudi Arabia. Go to all these places all over
the world. In Vietnam, it's against the law over there to preach
the gospel. In China, if they get Bibles
over there, they got to hide them. God's made desolate whole
nations of the gospel. And you know how many nations
he's destroyed? He destroyed Babylon. That's
great. Supposed to be one of the seven wonders of the world.
He destroyed Babylon. He destroyed Rome, who conquered
the world. He destroyed Alexander, who conquered
the world. He destroyed Greece. And he shall
bring America to her knees one of these days, too. And it'll
all happen. I mean, every nation's ever existed. There was a time that the sun
didn't set on the British Empire. And now it can set real easy
on a couple of places. Nothing like it was. Oh, and
He makes desolations of your works, your free will, your worth,
your merit, everything about you, He makes desolate. And He'll
yet make men in their arrogance and their pride and their boasting
to be desolate. Oh, everybody who thinks they're
something, that think they've accomplished something, and all
these things that God will bring men in their arrogance and their
pride, He'll make it desolate. And He makes wars to cease under
the end of the earth. And you know where he first made
war to seize that? In us, in us. Old Scott Richardson
used to say, stack your arms, stack your arms, give up, you
can't win. Put that gun down, put it down.
Take it away, get it, put it down. You can't go whip him.
And that's what he said. The first place he ceased the
war is in our own hearts. He slew the enmity that was in
us. He took rebels and turned them
into lovers. Huh? Oh my. And I tell you, wars,
they'll all cease for all who are in Christ. And when the Prince
of Peace comes, He stops the war in our hearts. And some day
we will dwell in the land of perfect peace. And then look
what else here. Look here in verse 10. A peaceful,
restful attitude. Be still and know that I am God. The God that I've been describing,
the God of this psalm. God is our refuge, very present
help in time of trouble. God's in the midst of her. There
is a river that flows. God's in the midst. This, he
said, this God, be still, be quiet, be peaceful, be restful. Be still, be quiet, be peaceful.
Does God change because we're in tough circumstances? Does
he change when we are afraid? Does he change when we don't
understand? How can we know He's God unless
we be still and wait? It's in the stillness of the
soul. that we truly, truly learn to know God in that stillness
of the soul, quiet, restful, peaceful. And you know, our strength
is to sit still. Moses told the children of Israel,
you brought us here to kill us all. He said, no, no, no, no.
He said, you all just stand still, stand still and see the salvation
of the Lord. They stood there and that Red
Sea went to part. And mothers carried their babies
across. Young men carried their grannies across. Oh, listen. We hustle and bustle
and listen so much, but boy, if we would just hush and listen
to God. You know why we don't listen
to God? I'm going to tell you something. I'll just say it's
me. I'll just quit preaching and tell you about myself. You
know why I don't listen to God often? It's because I think I
already know what the answer is. I think I already know what
to do. I done got my mind made up. come to the conclusion, so,
you know, boy, just a hush. Just a hush and listen to God.
Be still and know that oftentimes we can't listen because we're
too busy, too busy. My sister told me a story this
week, last week. It's funny. She's in her, I think
she said she's 72. Beautiful, beautiful. And when
she was in school, she couldn't, she couldn't spell piano. She
couldn't spell piano. My mother was there when she
was a young girl. She was standing over the piano. She just, for
some reason, she just couldn't get it. She just couldn't get
it. She'd write it out and it'd come out wrong. She'd write it
out again and it'd come out wrong. She said, finally, Mom just took
a pencil and broke it over my head. She said, can't you get
it? Can't you get it? Listen, we
don't have to spell piano to know God. Ain't you grateful?
We don't, listen, just be still. God ain't gonna break no pencils
over our heads. He's not gonna hurt us. He's
not gonna do that. We're imperfect creatures and
just be still. Lord, speak. That's what Samuel
said, Lord, speak, thy servant speak, thy servant hear. And
then look what a triumphant result, verse 10 to 11. He said, I will
be exalted. You know, she said, I will be
exalted. I will be exalted. I'm going
to be exalted among the heathen. I will be exalted. And let me
ask you, how, how high is God to us? How exalted is he in us,
in our thinking? How exalted is he in our conversation? How exalted is he when we think
of him? Speak of Him, consider Him. How
exalted is He? How high is He? Huh? Oh, He'll
be exalted in this earth. One of these days, every knee
is going to bow. Every tongue is going to confess
that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God. Oh, He's going
to be exalted, and He is exalted as our refuge, as our strength.
We attribute everything, everything to Him, everything to Him. Shirley
and I was sitting down outside yesterday evening and I said,
look at all them bugs in there, look at all them bugs in there.
Late in the evening, went down there and had a cup of coffee
and all these bugs. I said, you know God has ordained
every one of those bugs and ordained and predestined wherever one
of them bugs would fly. I said, you know, He even controls
the dust of the air. When you see them dust in the
winter, you know, and that light comes through and you see that
dust in the air? If there's anything that God does not control, then
He's not God. Just as sure if Satan had as
much power or just a little bit of the power that God has. You
know how quick He'd kill us? He'd destroy us. But there ain't
a bug in the sky, ain't a bug in the air, there ain't a bug
Nowhere, there ain't a disease nowhere that God don't control.
And I'm grateful to know that, because whatever happens in this
world to me, you, or anybody else, God is the first cause
of everything. And He don't mean us harm by
it. He means us good. If whatever
He sends us to take us home, that'll be just fine. That'll
be just fine. Want it? And oh, one of these
days, Every once, He's going to be exalted among the earth.
But I tell you what it's not. It's not honoring to Him. It's
not exalting Him. It's not glorifying Him. Complaining,
distrusting Him, and not believing Him, not trusting Him, not resting
Him. That's not honoring. That's not honoring. Oh, we got
confident in God and all those things we said.
