You know, when we get into eternity,
we still won't know how great God is. That's how immense He
is. He's going to show the riches
of His kindness and grace towards us through Jesus Christ ages
without end. Never plumb the depths of it.
But I'm looking forward to trying it. Alright, Genesis 24. Genesis 24. We're going to have a baptism
this morning. Kaylee Price, Seth's girlfriend, is going to be baptized.
And if there's anybody here and you've been putting it off, now
would be a good time to do that. Now would be a wonderful time
to do it. I'm going to read down to verse
20. And Abraham was old and well
stricken in age, and the Lord had blessed Abraham in all things. And Abraham said unto his eldest
servant of his house that ruled over all that he had, Put, I
pray thee, thy hand under my thigh, and I will make thee swear
by the Lord, the God of heaven and the God of earth, that thou
shalt not take a wife unto my son or the daughters of the Canaanites
among whom I dwell. But thou shalt go unto my country,
and to my kindred, and take a wife unto my son Isaac. And the servant
said unto him, Peradventure, the woman will not be willing
to follow me into this land. Must not needs go, bring thy
son again unto the land from whence thou camest? And Abraham
said unto him, Beware that thou not bring my son there again.
The Lord said, the Lord God of Abraham, which took me from my
father's house and from the land of my kindred, and which spake
unto me, and that swear unto me, saying, unto thy seed will
I give this land. He shall send his angel before
thee, and thou shalt take a wife unto my son from thence. And
if the woman will not be willing to follow thee, then thou shalt
be clear from this my oath, only bring not my son there again.
And the servant put his hand under the thigh of Abraham, his
master, and swore to him concerning that matter. And the servant
took 10 camels of the camels of the master and departed. For
all the goods of his master were in his hand. And he arose and
went to Mesopotamia under the city of Naor. And he made his
camels to kneel down without the city by a well of water at
the time of the evening, the time that the women came out
to draw water. And he said, O Lord God of my
master Abraham, I pray thee, send me good speed this day,
and show kindness unto my master Abraham. Behold, I stand here
by the well of water, and the daughters of the men of the city
come out to draw water. And let it come to pass that
the damsel to whom I shall say, let down thy pitcher, I pray
thee, that I may drink, And she shall say, Drink, and I will
give thy camel's drink also. Let the same be she that thou
hast appointed for thy servant Isaac. Thereby shall I know that
thou hast showed my master kindness unto my master. And it came to
pass, before he had done speaking, that, behold, Rebekah came out,
who was born to Bethuel, son of Melchizedek, the wife of Nahor,
Abraham's brother, with her pitcher upon her shoulder. And the damsel
was very fair to look upon, a virgin, neither had any man known her.
And she went down to the well and filled her pitcher and came
up. And the servant ran to meet her and said, let me, I pray
thee, drink a little of thy pitcher. And she said, drink, my lord.
And she hastened and let down her pitcher upon her hand and
gave him drink. And when she had done giving
him drink, she said, I will draw water for thy camels also until
they have done drinking. And she hasted and emptied her
pitcher into the trough, and ran again into the well to draw
water, and drew for all his camels." Now look back with me here in
Genesis 24. I hope you're still there. I want to bring a message today
on a bride for Isaac. Bride for Isaac. You know, this
is more than just an Old Testament story. It's not just a historical
story. It's one of the fullest revelations
of God's electing grace and sovereign power that you'll see in the
Scriptures and how sinners brought to the Lord Jesus Christ as the
Son and who is the Bridegroom. And all of God's people, they're
the Bridegroom. And there's a bride for Isaac,
and they're going after her. And Riley asked me this morning
why I studied, and I said, you got to have things in order.
She said, well, don't you just read it? And you know, I could do that,
and to come in order is a went. But here's the way this is set
up. Abraham is a type of the Father,
God the Father. Isaac is a type of the Son. Eliezer the servant, Abraham's
servant, is the type of the Holy Spirit. And Rebecca is the type
of the sinner who's brought to Isaac as we're brought to the
Lord Jesus Christ. And all of these, and I'll tell
you something about a type. None of them are perfect. There's
not a perfect type in the scriptures. But this is a pretty good illustration
of how God saves a sinner. And the first thing I want us
to look at is the Father's purpose. the Father's purpose. It says
here in verse 4, But thou shalt go unto my country, and to my
kindred, and take a wife unto my son Isaac. It was the Father's
will and purpose that his son have a bride, his son have someone
that he can love and love him. and that it originated with Him,
just like everything else in this world originates with God.
Everything starts with God. He's the first cause of everything.
And you know, the scripture says, As I have purpose, so shall it
come to pass. God has a purpose in everything
that He does in this world. And He says in the King, the
Father made a supper and made a great supper for His Son and
a wedding feast for His Son, it says in Matthew 22. And it
says that God works all things after the counsel of His own
will. And everything starts, God called us and loved us according
to His purpose. Everything God does, He does
on purpose. Election is according to purpose.
And there's one thing that this is one of the words that God
used to teach me the gospel. When I seen that God does everything
He does on purpose. God doesn't do things by chance.
He don't give people chances. He's not a gambler. He's not
a checker player. He's not one of these ones, you
make a move, and then God will make a move, and God makes a
move, and then you make a move, and then whoever makes the final
move, then you'll finally be saved. God's not that way. God
originated, before the world ever began, to have a bride for
Isaac, and have a bride for his son. And he said, I pray thee,
I go get thy wife for my son. And everything, you know, God
does everything according, you know, the scripture says that
grace was given us in Christ Jesus, when? Before the world
began. We were chosen in Christ, when? Before the foundation of the
world. So it was the Father's purpose.
And then look what else he says there in verse 4. But thou shalt
go unto my country, Where can you go on the face of this earth
where God doesn't, is not? And is not the whole earth the
Lord's in the fullness thereof? So when He says, go to my country,
any place that you go, that's where God's at. God's got people
all over the world and He says, go unto my country. Go to where
everything belongs to me. And that's the way it is. This
earth and everything about it belongs to God. You say, well,
I got a deed for my property. Well, it ain't going to amount
to nothing whenever you leave this world. Isn't that right? You go out to a graveyard and
all a person has, with their actual name on it, is the last
place that they'll be as far as this body's concerned. And
it's four foot wide and six foot deep and I think six foot long. And that's about all we're going
to end up with when it's all said and done. And I'll tell
you what, beloved, it said, go to my country, the earth is the
Lord. Look what else he said here.
And go to my kindred. How can the world, can she be
his, you know, go to my kindred? We've always, always said, go
to people that I know. Go to people that I, that's my
people. And I tell you, we've always
been God's people. He said, go to my kindred. We've
always been God's people. Paul says this, when it pleased
God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and call me by
his grace. He said, Jeremiah, before you
was formed in the belly, I knew you and ordained you and called
you to be a prophet. And then the scriptures tells
us whom he foreknew, them, them, he also did predestinate. And
all them he did predestinate, what did he do with them? He
called them. And I tell you what, we've always
been, go to my kindred. We're God's, we're always God's
people. We didn't know it until somebody
told us. And then look what the son, the
father had a purpose for his son to have a bride. Then look
at the father's position here in verse 35. The son's position
in verse 35. Look at the son's position here.
And the Lord hath blessed my master greatly, and he is become
great. How great thou art! We just sung
it. And he hath given him flocks, and herds, and silver, and gold,
and menservants, maidservants, camels, and asses. And listen
to this. And Sarah, my master's wife,
bear a son to my master when she was old. And here it is. And unto him hath he given all
that he has. The Father loveth the Son, and
hath given all things unto him. The God said he's the heir of
all things, by whom he also made the worlds. And look over here
in chapter 25 and verse 25, verse five, excuse me. Chapter 25 and
verse five. And Abraham gave all that he
had unto Isaac. And all the father put everything
into his son. He says, this is my beloved son
in whom I'm well pleased. This is my beloved son, listen
to what he's got to say. And I tell you, the father sought
all for the son and the father's purpose is going to be fulfilled
in the son. And beloved, I tell you what,
look over here in John with you, if you will, John 5, 22. John
5, 22. John's Gospel, chapter 5, verse
22. You know, and keep Genesis now. Keep Genesis. You know, in the
Lord Jesus Christ, He's before all things, and by Him all things
consist, whether they be thrones or dominions or principalities,
things present, things to come. He upholds all things by the
Word of His power. God hath made Him heir over all
things. And the fullness of the Godhead
dwells bodily in him. And look what it says here in
verse 22. For the Father judges no man,
but hath committed all judgment unto the Son, that all men should
honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. He that honors not
the Son honors not the Father, which hath sent him. Verily,
verily, or truly, truly, I say unto you, He that heareth my
word, and believeth on him that sitteth in me, hath everlasting
life, and shall not come into condemnation, but is passed from
death unto life. And verily, verily, I say unto
you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear
the voice of the Son of God, and they that hear shall live.
For as the Father hath life in Himself, so hath He given to
the Son to have life in Himself. And our Lord Jesus Christ, He
says, The Father hath given all things into my hand. He hath
power over all flesh to give eternal life to as many as thou
hast given him. God put every, as old Barner
said, God put all of his eggs in one basket. God put everything
in his Son. All of his wealth, all of his
riches, all of his glory, all of his power, all of his wisdom,
all of his grace, all of his mercy, everything is in his Son. And if you got the Son, you're
gonna get everything He's got. Ain't that right? Ain't that
what it says? In fact, He said He gave Him
a name. He said, I'll give Him a name. And there ain't nobody
anywhere in this universe that's got a name higher than the name
I gave Him. He said, if you won't speak to
me, you're gonna have to use that name. If you're gonna come
to me, you're gonna come to me in that name. If you're gonna
worship me, you're gonna worship me in that name. If you're gonna
have any dealings with me at all and me with you, you're gonna
have to come in that name. What is that name? Jesus Christ
the Lord. And he said, there's coming a
day when every knee is gonna bow, every tongue is gonna confess
that Jesus Christ is Lord, what for? So Abraham, so the father,
will get all the glory. And I love to use that name,
don't you? The sweetest name on earth that's ever been spoken
is the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. And I tell you what,
one of these days we'll see him as he is and be just like him. Oh my, bless his holy name. And then now look at the bride's
prospect. Go back over here in Genesis with me, 24. There again
in verse four, when it says to Abraham, Abraham says, go unto
my country and to my kindred and take a wife unto my son.
Now here's a situation. Rebecca did not know anything
about Abraham. She did not know anything about
the son. She didn't have a clue that the
father existed or the son existed. Anything that he had, any of
his wealth, she didn't know anything at all about him. But before
she knew it, she was going to be a bride for the son. She was
going to be a joint heir with with Isaac. She's way over here. They ain't even went after her
yet. And she's way over in this far
country. But the father said, listen,
I've got a purpose. My son's got all the power and
all the glory and all the wealth. And she's going to be a joint
heirs with him. And the bride was far off in
another country. Ain't that right? She's far off
in another country. And I'll tell you, beloved, as
Scott said one time, said, we're so far off that you can't even
find your way back. Somebody's got to go get you.
Somebody's got to come bring you. It's like Mephibosheth.
David says, go fetch him. He can't walk back to me. He
can't come to me. He can't walk to me. He's crippled. He's lame on both his feet. If
he gets to me, somebody's got to bring him. And that's the
way it is with the bride of Isaac. She don't even know that she's
going to be the bridegroom. Somebody's got to go tell her
what's going on. Our Lord Jesus Christ said, I'm
the good shepherd and I lay down my life for the sheep. And then
he said in Luke 15, he said, he goes and finds that lost sheep. And when he's found that lost
sheep, he lays it on his shoulder. They don't know they're lost
until they're found. And when they're found, he puts
them on his shoulder and he brings them back and puts them in the
fold. Oh, our Lord Jesus Christ said, all that the Father giveth
me. They're going to come to me,
huh? And this is the will of Him that
sent me, that everyone which seeth the Son and believeth on
Him hath life." Oh, he said, when our Lord Jesus prayed, He
said, I don't pray, I pray not for the world. I'm not praying
for the world. And when Abraham says, when you
go down there, He said, don't take my son down there. He said,
I pray not for the world. Who do I pray for? For those
that thou hast given me out of the world. I didn't know I was
given to him out of the world until somebody come along with
the gospel and told me. And then he says, Father, I not
only pray for them that thou hast given me, but for them which
shall believe on me through their word. Oh, she was in a far, far
country. And our Lord Jesus Christ, it
says this, that God hath saved us according to his own purpose
and grace. which was given us in Christ
Jesus before the world began. Just like Eve was in Adam. Eve
was in Adam. God seen it wasn't good for him
to be alone. And God wanted Christ to have
a people, have a bride. And as Eve was in Adam, we were
in Christ before the foundation of the world. Now, now, let's
go back over here. So we've seen the Father's purpose,
the Blessed Son's position, all things, Master's given everything
into His hands. And the Bride's prospect, she
don't have a clue what's going on until she'll find out later.
And then look what the Servant's proclamation. He's the Holy Spirit. He's got a mission. The first
thing I want to tell you about him is he had authority in the
house. He's the only one who had authority in the house to
go get a bride for Isaac. Ain't that right? Ain't that
what Abraham said? In verse 2, Abraham said unto
his eldest servant of his house that ruled over all that he had.
He had authority in the house, ruled over everything. He was
the only one who had authority in the house. And not only that,
but he was sent by the Father. You go, you go, and you swear
that you gonna bring. And oh beloved, now look back
over here in verse 31 with me. And oh listen. Sent by the Father. Look what happens now. And she
went to Rebekah's house where her dad was, where her father
was. And he said, Come in, thou blest
of the Lord. Wherefore standest thou without?
For I have prepared the house and room for thy camels. And
the man came unto the house and ungirded his camels, and gave
strong property for the camels and water to wash his feet and
the men's feet that were with him. And behold, there was meat
set before him to eat. Now listen to what he says. I
will not eat until I've told my Aaron. I ain't gonna do nothing
till I tell you what I'm here. That's what the Holy Spirit does.
I ain't gonna do nothing. I've got one purpose. It's not to
come here to enjoy myself, not to come here to eat. He says,
listen. He said, I'm not gonna do anything
until I've told my Aaron. He says, speak on. And the first
thing he said, he didn't speak of himself. He said, behold,
I'm Abraham's servant. The Holy Spirit, when He comes,
He does not speak of Himself. He speaks of Christ. Ain't that
right? And He was sent in the name of
the Son. And the Lord hath blessed my
Master greatly. And He hath become great. He
started talking about everything that the Father had. How wealthy
the Father was. How great the Father was. How
glorious the Father was. And He'd given Him flocks. He'd
given Him such wealth. Such wealth, silver and gold,
and oh my, gave him so much. And then look what he said, oh
my, and my Sarah, and then he said in the name of the son,
my Sarah, my master's wife, bear a son to my master. When she
is old and under him, hath he given everything? He starts telling
about the Son, the Holy Spirit when He's come. He takes the
things of Christ and what does He do? He shows them unto us. He shows us His glory. He shows
us His wealth. He shows us His power. Now He
didn't speak of Himself. No, no, no. Then look what He
said. And He said, Oh my, my Master
made me swear. Oh my. Thou shalt not take a
wife to my son of the daughters of the Canaanites." That's the
cursed race. Cursed race. "...in whose land I dwell. But
thou shalt go unto my father's house to my kindred, and take
a wife unto my son." He didn't speak of himself. Now look down
at verse 53. Now, it came to verse 52, "...and
it came to pass, when Abraham's servant heard that Rebekah's
here, take her and go on." He worshipped the Lord, and bowing
himself to the earth. And listen to what happens now.
He revealed the things of Isaac. He revealed to her the things
of Isaac. And the servant brought forth
jewels of silver. You know what silver speaks of
in the scriptures? It's about redemption. The tabernacle
set on silver sockets. Silver was the redemption price. That's redemption. And all the
wealth of our Lord Jesus Christ and His blood and His redemption.
Everything set on silver. They had the silver was what
they brought to set. They had round sockets and they
had slats in them and they set those boards. One on one corner
and one on the other. And it said, flat on the bottom,
it said right inside that silver socket. That silver socket. That
spoke of redemption. And then look what else he did.
And then he brought forth jewels of gold. You know what gold speaks
of in the scriptures? Deity. Deity. He's gold. I mean, our Lord Jesus Christ.
You know, people down here, they're absolutely crazy about gold.
They advertise on the radio all the time, bring your gold in,
we'll give you the best price for it. And people go out, and
I watch this, these ghosts, people go get all this, and I tell you
what, they just go to great lengths to get gold. Great lengths to
get gold. And you know what it's worth
in God's kingdom? Makes streets to walk on. And when we get there,
I'll tell you something, we're not going to pay a bit of attention
to the streets. You know what we're going to
be looking at? We're going to be looking at Him. At the streets,
that don't impress me at all. I'll tell you what impresses
me, the same thing it does on this earth, the Lord Jesus Christ.
Let men have the gold, let them talk about gold. I want to talk
about the Lord Jesus Christ and His glory and His deity and His
power and His majesty and all that belongs to Him. And then
look what else He did now. And He brought forth jewels of
silver and jewels of gold and raiment and gave them to Rebekah. Then He gave her, oh look at
all, look at these clothes. Look at these clothes. Oh my
goodness, our Lord Jesus Christ, what kind of clothes did he close
on us? When he brought forth the raiment,
what kind of clothes did he put on us? Listen, when he gave her a raiment,
it was the prettiest thing she had ever saw in her life. That
was like Bunyan's progress. When her faithful and Christian
went through the wicked gate and they got to the cross, And
this shining ones came and put garments on them after the guilt,
after the burden rolled off their back when they viewed him that
was on that cross. And they said the shining ones
came and clothed them. And oh, Christian looked back
at the faithful and said, I've never seen. Oh, that's the most
beautiful garment I've ever seen. Oh, I just can't believe it.
Oh, you look so glorious. You look so beautiful. He looks
around and says, Oh no, you look much better than I do. Your garment's
better than mine. And that's the way it is. When
Christ clothes us, He clothes us with His righteousness. And
you know how much He clothes us? From the top of our head
to the sole of our foot, from the inside of our soul to the
outside of our skin. There's not a spot on us that's
not covered with the righteousness of Christ. Oh, it's the most
beautiful garment. It's so beautiful. It's so glorious
that when God views it, He absolutely sees nothing but that. Nothing
but that. And you know what's so wonderful
about it? Look what it says there. And He gave them to Rebekah. And everything we got from God,
God gave it to us. He gave us redemption. He gave
us Christ in His deity. And He gave us His righteousness. Everything we got, God gave it
to us. We don't have nothing that God
didn't give us. Ain't that right? And I tell
you, that's not a... There's not a, if there's a hair's
breadth, a hair's breadth, a hair's breadth I'm telling you, a hair's
breadth, one hair's breadth of our own making and our relationship
with God, we'll miss it by, you just as well miss it by a country
mile. God did it all. Oh, here Eve, I mean here, here
Rebecca. Look, look here, this is just
a foretaste of what you're going to have. This is just a foretaste. Oh, my goodness. And then look
what happens to them. They start home now. They start
home and he brings her all the way home, down verse 61, it says,
and Rebekah rose in her damsels and they rode upon the camels
and followed the man and the servant took Rebekah and went
his way. And he guides all the way home.
But let me tell you something, the Holy Ghost cannot comfort
us or have fellowship with us until he makes known the character
of the Father and the blessedness and glory of the Son. And I'll
tell you something else, he didn't go. He didn't go down through
that city hollering, anybody wanna be my master's bride? Listen, my master's got this
son and this son, he's such a glorious person and he wants somebody
to love him, he wants somebody to accept him, he wants somebody
to be married to him. That's not what happened. He
didn't go down through the street hollering for everybody. Hey,
listen, I've got a master and he's got a son. Anybody want
to be wed to him? That's not what happened. That's
not never the way it happens. This idea that if one of you
thought of Isaac loved every woman that came around, you'd
say, boy, he's a fool. If a man was married and didn't
run after every woman in the world, you'd say he's an infidel. Well, our Lord Jesus Christ,
I'm telling you, the Father says, Listen, don't take my son down
there. You're not going to bring him
down. You're not going to take him to them. You're going to
bring them to him. Don't take him down there. Don't
bring him down. Don't belittle him. He's not
something that I admire. I don't want my son to be put
on the marketplace, to be accepted or rejected, to be bought and
paid for by some decision, some free will, some act of some man
or some work that somebody does. Ain't that what the Father said?
Don't take him down there. And I tell you, people are selling
the Lord Jesus Christ awful cheap today. In fact, they don't even
bother to mention his name. All they talk about is, try us,
try us, try us. Tattooed up, tattooed down, bald,
long hair, shorts, don't make any difference. Bring him down,
oh, just bring him down, just bring him down as low as you
can get him. Somebody will surely take him one of these days. Abraham
said, that ain't gonna happen to my son. God said, that ain't
gonna happen to my son either. Oh, no. And God help us, we're
never going to bring Him down. We're going to keep Him high. We're going to keep Him holy.
We're going to set Him before people as the only hope they've
got to even speak to God or God speak to them. It's through His
Son. Now, look what happens. Look
at the power of the message. Remember, O Eliezer says, Master,
what if she's not willing? What if she's not willing to
come? Why she's not willing? If she's
not, just come on back home. Just leave it go. But oh my,
look in verse 58 now. And all this go down here. Go
start down in verse 54. And after he showed these things
to Rebekah, and they did eat and drank, he and the men that
were with him and tarried all night. And they rose up in the
morning and he said, send me away unto my master, it's time
for me to go. And her brother and her mother
said, Let the damsel abide with us a few days, at the least ten,
after that she shall go. And oh no! And he said unto them,
Hinder me not, seeing the Lord hath prospered my way. Send me
away, that I might go to my master. And they said, I'll tell you
what we'll do. We'll call the damsel, and quiet her mouth.
And they called Rebekah, and said unto her, Wilt thou go with
this man? What did she say? I'll go. I'll go. Why will you
go? Well, I've seen his wealth. I've heard about his father.
I've seen his wealth. I've seen his glorious clothes
he has, this gold and this silver and the wealth. And I tell you
what, everything belongs to him. Everything belongs to him. And
so she began to see all this thing. And ain't that what the
gospel is? The gospel is the power of God
unto salvation. And oh beloved, look how it attracted
Rebecca. The servant had to do no pleading.
He had to do no begging. He had to do no entreating. All
he had to do was just tell her about Isaac. And tell her about
the father and how the father gave everything unto his son.
That's all he had to tell her. No pleading, just a proclamation.
It was the goodness and the glory of the Father and the Son that
won her. He never said anything about
wrath or what you're going to suffer if you don't go. No, no. And others tried to get her to
stay for a while. Oh, Rebecca, stay. Please stay. Your mama wants you to stay.
Your daddy wants you to stay. Your brothers and sisters want
you to stay. Don't go, Rebecca. Oh, no. Will you go? I'm gonna
go. She's ready to go. And I tell
you, you know when a man's ready to go? When the Holy Spirit makes
Christ known to you. You're ready to go. I'm telling
you what, there won't be no begging or pleading. That's why Paul
says, when it pleased God, What did He do to you, Paul? He separated
me. When did He do that? From my
mother's womb. Well, then what happened after
that? Then He called me by His grace. What did He call you for?
To reveal His Son in me. What happened after that? I did
not confer with flesh and blood. I didn't have worn a head. What
people had to say didn't bother me anymore. I've seen the Son.
I've seen the Son. Huh? And I tell you, She left
everything behind. Everything behind. She left her
mama, her daddy, her brothers, everybody was left behind. She
left where she was, why? For the glory that was revealed
to her because of the riches of the Son. And I tell you, everything
she did, she did and believed by faith. She left there, going
back, into that country to be wed to a man she's never seen,
whom having loved, having loved and never seen, she never saw
him. And she had to believe that Abraham
was going to do what he said he would, going to give all things
to the Son, that he had this wealth that they showed him.
She went back there, she accepted every bit by faith, whom having
not seen, you love and rejoice with joy unspeakable. Now look
what happens down here now. In verse 61, let me start right
there. Oh my, look at going home, look
at the pleasure of the home. And Rebekah rose in the damsels,
and they rode upon the camels and followed the man, and the
servant took Rebekah and went his way. And Isaac came from
the way of the well of Lehiroi, for he dwelt in the south country.
And Isaac went out to meditate in the field at the evening time,
like our Lord Jesus Christ went up on the mountains. And he lifted
up his eyes, he looked up, and he saw, and he saw the camels
were coming. And Rebekah looked up and saw
him, she saw him out walking in the field. And when she saw
Isaac, she lighted off her camel. She jumped off her camel. She's not going to wait to get
there. She's not going to wait for somebody to, please, won't
you come? No, no. For she had said unto
the servant, what man is this that walketh in the field to
meet us? And the servant said, it's my master. Now look what
she did. She jumped off that camel when
she found out it was Him. It was like Peter when he found
out it was the Lord. He jumped into the water. Everybody
else had to ride the boat in. He jumped into the water and
swam. He had to get to Christ. And this was after he denied
Him three times. And therefore she took a veil. I'm not worthy to be in your
presence. I'm not worthy. I'm going to cover my uncomeliness. And the servant told Isaac all
things that he had done. And look what happens. And Isaac brought her into his
mother Sarah's tent and took Rebecca and she became his wife. And listen to this now. And he
loved her. And he loved her. You know what
she did? She found her true life when
she found Him. And now we found our true life
and the enjoyment of our life and the joy of our life is now
found in our Lord Jesus Christ. And you know what? He took us
unto Himself, called us His bride, and He loved us, and He loved
us. And I tell you what, our Lord
Jesus Christ said it this way, Father I will, I will that they
whom thou hast given me may be with me, where I am, and behold
my glory." As Isaac took her into his tent, our Lord will
one of these days take us into glory. And He'll take us there
because He loved us. He said, I'm going to prepare
a place for you. And if I go prepare a place for
you, I'm going to come again. I'm coming again. And oh my,
he may come after one of you just in the next day or two.
He may come after you in the next few months. But he's coming
after us. And he says, and I'm going to
take you and bring you to where I am that you may be with me. And one of these days, he's going
to take us into that wonderful place. And then we'll know. And you know what the scripture
says? And the bride made herself ready. How did she make herself
ready? She had raiment of white linen. And the bride made this
great feast. And everybody said, and eat.
Oh my. And every believer, every child
of God is a bride of Christ. And you know, this is the thing
about it. The bride had, she brought absolutely nothing to
this marriage. What did it say? Rebecca brought
anything. She had no wealth to bring. He had all the wealth.
She had no power. She had no wealth. She had, she
came to him because he had everything. And when she got him, she got
everything he had. And ain't that the way it is
with Christ? You know, if you marry a woman in this world,
and when you marry somebody, everything you've got becomes
hers and everything she's got becomes yours. The only thing
is that we didn't have nothing to bring to the marriage. Christ
had it all. Christ had it all. And He's going
to take very good care of us. Ain't that right? You know why?
He's got the wealth to do it with. He's got the wealth to
do it with. Our blessed, blessed Savior,
thank you for the gospel. Thank you for this blessed message
of grace, this message of effectual calling, this message that the
Holy Spirit comes and takes the things of Christ and shows them
to us, brings us to Him, and He loves us. Oh, He loves us.
One of these days, Lord, we look forward to the day when we'll
be with you forever and ever and ever. God bless the dear
saints of God. Strengthen and encourage. Bless
the message. Bring glory to yourself through
it. Honor your blessed son for Christ's sake. Amen. Amen.
