Turn with me to John's Gospel,
Chapter 1. John's Gospel, Chapter 1. In the beginning was the Word,
and the Word was with God and the Word was God. The same was
in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him and
without Him, was not anything made that was made. In him was
life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth
in darkness, and the darkness comprehended it not. There was
a man sent from God, whose name was John. The same came for a
witness, to bear witness of the light, that all men through him
might believe. He was not that light, but was
sent to bear witness of that light. That was the true light
which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. He was
in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew
him not. He came unto his own, and his
own received him not. But as many as received him,
to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them
that believe on his name. which were born, not of blood,
nor the will of the flesh, nor the will of man, but God. And
the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory,
the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace
and truth. Now, if you will, take your Bibles
and turn with me to John chapter 8 and look at verse 12. John chapter 8 and look at verse
12. Our Lord Jesus, after they had
brought to Him the woman taken in adultery, and everybody left
after Our Lord Jesus done rode on the ground twice, told that
woman, I don't condemn you anymore. No judgment, no more upon you.
Then spake Jesus again unto them. unto the everybodies gathered
around, saying, I am the light of the world. He that followeth
me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. That's what we just read over
in John's gospel, that in him is life, and in his light, and
in him is life. He's the light of life. You know
the nature of God God said to John said this over in 1st John
1 5 this then is the message that we have heard and declare
unto you that God is light God is light and in him is no darkness
at all and he that saith he walketh with him and walketh in darkness
do lie and the truth's not in him you can't be in Christ and
walk in darkness you can't know Christ and walk in darkness And
you know when he says that he was the light of life, and here
he says, you know, that he that followeth me shall not walk in
darkness, but I shall have the light of life. When he talks
about the light, he's talking about the illumination of men,
illuminating them. And Mr. Pink often said that
about God has to illumine men's minds and their understanding
and their heart. He has to take a blind man and
give him sight. He has to take deaf men and give
them ears. He has to take a stony heart
and take it out and put in a heart of flesh. He has to come and
cleanse a man. Everything that God does in saving
a sinner, He has to do it all. He has to do every bit of it.
Because a man cannot contribute nothing, because he has nothing
to contribute, because all he has of his own, that he can call
his own, is his sin. And that's all he's got. That's
all he's got. But now you think of the nature
of this saying, when our Lord Jesus Christ said, I am the light
of the world. When He says the nature of this,
well, it's a revelation. When He says, I'm the light of
the world, it's a revelation of the character of our Lord
Jesus Christ. This shows us the nature and
character of our Lord Jesus Christ. He said, I'm the life and the
light of men. And the light shines in darkness
and the darkness comprehends it not. Now look over here in
John chapter three and verse 18. This shows us the revelation
of our Lord Jesus' character. He was in this world, and He
was light. He was light. He said, I AM the
light. When God said, I AM that I AM,
our Lord Jesus Christ identified Himself as the I AM in seven
different ways, which is perfection. And perfections in Him perfectly
reveal the nature and character of God. But look what it says
here in verse 18. Our Lord Jesus Christ talking
about the love of God and the new birth. And he said, he that
believeth on him is not condemned. Believes on who? The Lord Jesus
Christ. But he that believeth not is
condemned or judged already. And why? Because he hath not
believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. Listen to
condemnation this word condemnation the same word is judgment. This
is the condemnation that light light from God in Christ has
come into the world And when it came into this world, what
did men do? What did Pharisees do? What did
religious men do? What did natural men do? They
loved darkness rather than light. Why did they do that? Because
their deeds were evil. You do what you do in the dark.
And everyone that doeth evil continues on in their sin, refusing
God, refusing Christ, refusing the scripture. hateth the light,
neither comes to the light, because lest his deeds should be reproved,
or made manifest, that people can see them, and he can see
them. That's what people say when you preach the gospel to
them. They say, oh my, they think the preacher, somebody's talked
to the preacher. But here's the thing, God himself makes himself
known when he turns on that light. And he'll give you enough light
to let you either sit in darkness or save you from your sin. And this is what men do. They
say, well, if I come to the light, you're saying I'm a sinner, and
I'm not going to admit to being a sinner. I'm a good person.
I'm not going to admit to being as bad as you say I am. I'm a
good person. I'm not going to own up to the
fact that I hate God and love myself. I'm not going to own
up to that. And our Lord Jesus Christ talked about the woman
who was a dog. He said, I'm not going to be
a dog. And everything that I said to you, He said, well, I ain't
going to do that because you don't want to come to the light
and say, yes, I'm exactly everything God said about me. I'm exactly
the way God describes me. I'm exactly the sinner God describes
me to be. I don't wanna come to that light
because if I do, I'll have to admit that I'm not as good as
I thought I was. I'm not as wise as I thought
I was. I'm not as holy as I thought
I was. It's like a man told his mother told his son one time
when he started telling her about, you know, he was in trouble and
he needed to, you know, and the Lord was after him. He said,
Oh, son, listen. Don't worry about it, said, you've
been a Boy Scout, you're an Eagle Scout, so don't worry about it. Being an Eagle Scout. Mama told
him, don't worry about it, you're an Eagle Scout. Like that's got
something to do with relationship with God. Helping an old woman
across the street has something to do with God. But that's what
people look to. That's what they believe in.
But look what else he goes on to say. But he that doeth truth,
he that owns up to the truth, believes the truth, Comes to
that light comes to Christ the light That his deeds may be manifest
that God dealt with him in his blessed son, huh? Oh Listen,
I'm coming to Christ and that's what I said to you this morning
when he said I John said I was sent to bear witness of the light
who needs to bear who needs to have the light witness to him
and People that's in darkness, people that's blind. Well, the
light's on. I don't see no light. Of course
you don't, you're blind. And that's what he means. And
then think of the light that this world has and has had. And there's a lot of light that's
come into this world. But science, you take science.
What has science done? Has it ever performed a miracle? Has it ever saved a soul? Is
it ever changed a man's heart? Science is a wonderful thing. Astrology is a wonderful thing. Go out here and look at the stars
and they can show you all these things out in outer space. But
what has science ever done for a soul? What did it ever create? Science even goes so far as to
say that God didn't create this world. It started out with a
big bang out here. And this is one of the greatest
things that they say that all the scientists just goes on and
on and they deny the creation. They deny the flood. They deny
that this world and man is that he come out of something out
of the ocean. or out of a mud pit and crawled
out and then all of a sudden we ended up like this. They started
at the bottom and worked their way to the top, but man started
out at the top and fell all the way to the bottom. But science,
you know, they tells everybody, you know, and oh listen, if you
don't believe in, they talk about global warming, if you don't
believe in global warming, you're an absolute idiot now. Climate
change, well climate change is three times, four times a year.
You know, you hang around here and you'll be 70 one day and
35 the next. That's climate change. It's always
been that way and always will be. They call me an idiot if
you want to. But oh my, I tell you, that's what Paul told Timothy. He says, oh listen, don't listen
to them vain babblers and of science, falsely so called. Science pits itself against God. Science pits itself against creation. Science pits itself against man
and depravity. They tell us that man can just
get better and better and better if you educate him, house him,
and take care of his medical conditions and he'll be a happy
felon. And then what about philosophy? That's one light that's come
into this world, science. What about philosophy? You all
do this. You do this one of these days.
You Google philosophy. And some of the greatest philosophers
that's ever lived, Aristotle, Socrates, Plato, those are the
ones that started it way back under. And in fact, Paul stood
on Mars Hill and said, these Greek philosophers, they come
to here and tell some new thing. And philosophy, again, I ask
you, what has philosophy ever done to save a man, to open his
heart, to open his mind, to do something for him in his soul?
What has philosophy ever done? What has philosophy ever done
for anybody? Our Lord says this, He said, He charged the wisdom
of this world. You know what He said? It's foolishness. You find the wisest man in this
world, the smartest man in this world, the greatest philosopher
in this world, and God said, that man's a fool. And He says,
He takes them wise in their own craftiness and experience. Here's another light that's come
into the world. And man loves this world. especially
religious people, experience. Oh, their experience. We want
to talk about their experience. Oh, we got to have an experience.
Have an experience with God, an experience in science, an
experience in philosophy, an experience. And this is one of
the greatest refuges that man has to hide behind in religion,
is this. an experience he had years and
years ago and he stays right back there where that experience
is at. He stays right there. He won't move from the time.
There's the place and there's the time. Back in 1959 or 1969
or 1979, I'll remember that old-fashioned place. I'll remember the stuff
I was on. I'll remember the tears I shed
and I'll remember how I was changed. And they go back to an old experience,
and that's one of the greatest refuges that a man has, going
back to an experience to try to find out whether he knows
God or not. I'm not going to yesterday to work whether I know
whether I know Christ or not. I know I'm trusting Him right
now, right today. And somebody told me the other
day that a preacher said, you know, that we're just a cult
over here. We're just a cult. Because they've had an experience
and they don't want to stay in that darkness. They don't want
to come to the light. But I'm going to walk in the
light if it costs me everybody I've ever known as a friend.
I'm going to walk in that light. And then what about religion?
Let me ask you about this, talking about the light that the world
has and the world has had over the centuries. How about Buddha?
When I was in Vietnam, they had little old Buddhist temples everywhere.
And they got these great big huge Buddhas in China, and these
great huge Buddhas in Vietnam, and Thailand, and Cambodia, great
biggins. Huge! And people go in there
and bow down to a statue, and then they carry him home and
set him on their dresser, kind of like a Catholic. He's got
to set up his little crucifix, got to set up his little Jesus,
got to set up something to have something to worship. What about
Muslims? Has anybody ever been saved by Buddhism? Has anybody
ever been saved from sin by Muslims? Has anybody ever been saved from
sin by Catholicism? Has anybody ever been saved by
sin by the Dalai Lama and he's supposed to be the enlightened
one? That's what I talk about. Men love darkness rather than
light and yet apart from the Lord Jesus this world and everything
I've said so far is steeped in spiritual darkness. Oh and the
darkness that this world is in It's absolutely incredible. You
just listen to people talk. I saw a thing this morning, and
I don't want to hurt anybody's feelings, but this is the truth. Billy Graham and his son, they
say, there's never been a man who has accepted Jesus that regretted
it. How in the world do you accept
Jesus? That's one of them darknesses
that's in this world, that man has to accept Jesus. Don't care
whether Christ ever accepts them or not. They don't know nothing
about being accepted in the Beloved. They never talk about being accepted
in the Beloved. They don't talk about what it
is to know Christ. They just made a decision one
day. And when they made that decision, that changed everything. They're fixed up for eternity,
whether they ever had a new heart, whether their understanding was
ever enlightened, whether they ever know God, whether they followed
God, as long as they made their decision. Oh, that's why our
Lord says the light shines in darkness. The light shines in
darkness, and the darkness don't comprehend it. They don't see
it. They don't see it. And oh, and bless His holy name.
Think of the light that our Lord Jesus has brought into this world.
He said, I'm the light which is the life of men. Think of
the light the Lord Jesus has brought into this world. First
thing the light he brought into this world, when he come into
this world, was he turned on the light on God's character.
The true character of God. Ain't that what he said in John
1 18, said the son was in the bosom of the father. And he came
and told him out. You know our Lord Jesus Christ,
right over here in John 14, let me show you this. In John 14.
You've seen this so many times, but look at it with me again.
He turned the light on the true character of God. You know, the
Jews and everybody else says, we have Moses, we have Moses.
And people say, you know, you need to go back to the law. The
law reveals the character of God. I tell you what the law
does reveal about the character of God. It reveals His holiness
and His justice and His severity. It don't know nothing about love,
don't know nothing about mercy, don't know nothing about grace.
You break the law and it don't know anything about mercy. And
people want to go to Christ to get saved and then they won't
go back to law to try to be saved by keeping the law and living
a good life by keeping the law. But look what our Lord Jesus
said here. In John 14, and down in verse 8, verse 7, He said,
If you had known Me, you should have known My Father also. Because
you know why? Because the only way you're going
to see the Father is through Me. And from henceforth you know
Him and have seen Him. Philip saith unto Him, Lord,
show us the Father, and that will suffice us. That will satisfy
us. We won't ask any more questions. Our Lord said unto him, have
I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me,
Philip? He that hath seen me hath seen
the Father. How sayest thou then that show
us the Father? So you see, our Lord Jesus Christ,
he come and revealed out the very character of God himself.
He came to make God known. And that's the only God we are
ever gonna see when we get to glory is the Lord Jesus himself.
You know, they said we got Moses. We have Moses. But I'm telling
you something, beloved. Moses can't do a man any good.
He can't do a man any good at all. Only Christ can save a man
from his sin. Only the Lord Jesus can. Our
Lord Jesus stood and cried and said, he that believeth on me,
believeth not on me, but on him that sent me. And he that seeth
me, seeth him that sent me. Our Lord Jesus Christ made God
to be known in this world. He made God's sovereignty to
be known. He said, I thank thee, O Father,
Lord of heaven and earth. Thou hast hid these things from
the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes. Why? Because even so it seemed good
in your sight. He revealed His holiness and
His grace. Oh, this woman taking an adultery
there in John 8, where we was just at about Christ being the
light of the world. He showed His holiness and grace
and love, and that He is a just God and a Savior. you know that
brought that woman she was taken actually taken in the act of
adultery they didn't bring a man but they brought him and they
said moses in the law says she should be stoned our lord did
not disagree with that but he stooped down and wrote raised
up stooped down wrote again said now he that's without sin you
pick up the stone throw the first one boy away they went away they
went The way they went. And you know how he saved that
woman? The first time he wrote was when he came into this world.
And he wrote and made himself known as God in this flesh. And
then he stood down and wrote again. And I, you know, I preached
on what I thought he wrote. And then he raised up the second
time. That's his resurrection. And he was standing on resurrection
ground. He says, go and sin no more. Neither do I condemn thee.
He said, you see, I'm the light. These fellows that came around
here and condemned this woman and found her guilty and wanted
to stone her to death and wanted to bring her under the law. He
said, they're in darkness. I'm the light. And that woman,
I guess she saw the light. She saw what light really is
in me and all my And then he showed the light on man's character
and need. Oh my, what a need we have. He
said, I've not come to call the righteous of the righteous, but
sinners, sinners to repentance. And oh, if we ever could find
a sinner, I know that everybody in here that's saved by the grace
of God is a sinner. I know that without a shadow
of a doubt. But everybody in here that's not saved by the
grace of God is not a sinner. Because if you ever become a
sinner, if God ever makes you a sinner, you know what you'll
do? You'll come to Christ. You'll confess Christ. And you'll
do what He tells you to do and He tells you to confess Him through
believers baptism and somebody don't do that has no business
calling themselves a saved person. And that's why the light, the
light shined in darkness and the darkness comprehended the
night. Look in John chapter 9 with me and look in verse 39. John
9, 39. Look what our Lord said here. I've used this so many times.
This light shined in darkness John said he'd come to bear witness
of the light. Who needs to be told the sun
is shining and the light's on people that's in darkness? Our
Lord said here in John 9, 39, and our Lord said, for judgment
am I come into this world. He's the one that, same thing
as he said in John 17, I have power over all flesh that I might
give eternal light to as many as thou hast given him. And he
says, I'm coming to this world in judgment. that they will see,
this is what I come into this world, so men can understand
this, that I am come into this world that they will see not,
will see not, say, I don't see, might see, people who say, I,
and as we sit, we sit there and say, I don't see it, and then
all of a sudden, we see, why? Christ made that judgment for
us. And then look what, and that they will see, that everybody
that says, oh, I know, I know, I got it, I understand it. That
they will see, might be made blind. Everybody says, I see
in religion. Everybody sees, I see my experience.
Everybody sees that I, I think Jesus loves everybody and I believe
he died for everybody. He said, they gonna stay blind.
Everybody that says, I see, gonna stay blind. And look what? And
some of the Pharisees, which were with him, heard these words
and said unto him, are we blind also? Are we blind? Look what
our Lord, how he answered them. Our Lord said unto him, if you
were blind, you said, yes, I am blind. You know what you'd say? You ain't got no sin. I can't
see unless you give me sight. And then look what he asked the
old man. But now you say, we see. We see Moses. We see the law. We see our own
righteousness. We see our prayer life. We see
our devotions. We see our tithes paying. We
see it all. And our Lord said, your sins
gonna stay right with you to judgment. That's what He means.
Huh? And oh my, let me give you another
one. And those who come to the light, you know what they see? You know what they see? Look
over in Luke 6, 8, and 18 with me. Luke 16, 8. I believe it's
16, 8. I think that's what I want. You
know, when we come to the light, God gives us light. And this
is one thing that we know. The more light you have, the
greater the circumference of darkness around you. The greater
the circumference of darkness. The more light you have, the
greater the circumference of darkness. When we first seen
the light, we didn't realize how dark things was around us.
The more light we see, as we see more of the light of Christ,
more of the light of His Word, this world is just, we see the
greater circumference of light, we had the greater circumference
of darkness around us. And we're standing right here
in this light, and the world around us all in darkness. And
oh, how great is that darkness. But look what He said here, our
Lord said about the people of this world. Talking about the
unjust steward, the Lord commended the unjust steward because he
had done wisely. For the children of this world
are in their generation wiser than the children of light. They
know what it takes to get on in the world, how to manipulate,
how to deceive, how to get what they want, how to just keep on
getting it. And he says, oh, they're much
wiser than the children of light because the children of light,
they trust in Christ. They don't have to go to the
world to get what they want. I see all the time that churches
have car washes and cookie sales and bake sales and everything
like that. They have to go to the world to get money to run
their churches. And if we ever have to go to
the world to get one dime, We'll close the doors and say, Ichabod,
put it on the door. If we have to go to the world
to get anything to help run this place, pay the light bill, pay
the water bill, do the things that need to be done around it.
If we have to go to the world for $1, we'll shut the door.
We don't need the world to help run this place. God don't need
the world. Everybody says God needs you.
God don't need anything. He absolutely needs nothing.
This world and everything in it belongs to Him. and he can
do with us what he wants to and there's not a thing we got in
our pocket, not a house we live in, not a car we drive, not any
money we got in the bank that he didn't give us. If you got
sense enough to get in out of the rain, God gave you that sense.
That's what the light we're talking about. Oh, John Newton said this,
you know the only difference between an intelligent man and
an idiot is if a rock hits him the right way on the side of
the head. That's all it takes. And so, oh listen, and I tell
you, those who come to the light, they see Let the world go on
and do what they're going to do. And the darkness that's in
men's minds, you know how awful it is? Men's understanding is
darkness. The darkness in men's minds about
God. Oh, how dark is men's mind about
God. They think that they can actually
change God. There was a fellow that used
to go to Henry Mahan's church years and years ago, moved to
England. got him a well education and took over one of the largest
churches in London, England. And you know what he had in his
pulpit one time? He had a charismatic. And that
charismatic got up and said, if we could get enough people
to pray, we could change God's mind. And Henry Mahan told that
fellow, said, I don't ever want to hear from you again. I don't
know nothing about you. Don't ever write me another letter.
Don't hear nothing from you. You done went over the line.
Now that's the darkness. And not only that, but men think
that they can change God by their own will. They've got the power
in their will to get God to do what they want Him to do. My
will can change God's will. Men have said, I've heard men
say that you're the sovereign over God. He has to do what you
ask him to do. And oh, they, a God that just
comes down. And that's what so many people
say. When you start preaching the
gospel to them, you start talking to them about the truth. The
first thing they'll say is either my Bible says this or my God's,
my God's life That's the first two things. Either my Bible don't
say that or my God's not like that. And they're telling the
truth. Their God's not like the God of the Bible. They're telling
the truth. And then what about the darkness
that's in men's minds about themselves? I know this from experience.
You know back when I first come into this country? Back in 1974,
coming down here and I started preaching over here at Thomas
Springs. I did not know straight down falling out of a tree. When
I first come in this country, they call me the wholeness preacher.
You know why they call me the wholeness preacher? Because I
was preaching against every sin, every sin that I could think
of, and then made a few of them that I didn't know nothing about.
I just made them up as I went along. And oh, how dark my mind
was. And I honestly thought that I
could live a holy life by this flesh, by my deeds, by my actions,
by my prayers, by my tithepaising. I honestly thought that when
you got on an altar, that that right there with an altar would
actually change you if you stayed there long enough. But you had
to stay there and wear that altar out, get on an old-fashioned
altar and wear it out till you pray through. I know what it
is to be in darkness about yourself. And then God comes along and
He says, this is what I say about you. Your holiness as absolutely,
your righteousness as a filthy rag. Don't you know that? Don't
you know what real holiness is? Real holiness is God is holy. Christ is holy. And don't you
know that salvation cannot be done by anything you do? I'd
get over on the hillsides and I would pray, oh my goodness,
they heard me all the way over to Lawson town. I'd get up on
a bluff behind my house and I'd pray so loud that they heard
me plumb over to Lawson town. Said, oh God, he's over there
praying again. Oh, the darkness, the darkness, the darkness. And
every one of you's been there. And then God comes along, he
turns on the light. And it's like going into an old,
old house in an old, old basement. Nobody been in there for years.
And cobwebs, and snakes, and spiders, and nastiness, and everything
that's unclean, and everything that's filthy. And you just go
in there, and you stumble around. You get all this stuff all over
you. And you don't know what's in there. And when somebody turns
on the light, you say, oh my goodness, look at all that's
in here. And that's what God does when He turns on the light.
You say, oh my soul, the first thing I thought of, now I don't
know about you, the first thing I thought of when God turned
on the light was how in this world can God have anything to
do with me as vile and as wretched as I am? The lies I've told on
Him, the misrepresentations I've had of Him, the self-righteousness
I had, how in the world can God have anything to do with me and
save me? That's the first thing that come
across my mind when God, and the first, when God first taught
me the gospel, and you all, some of you all here are witness to
this. When I first learned the gospel for two solid years, I
preached on how in the world can God be just and save a bunch
of sorry, sinful, riches like us? How can God be just and have
anything to do with me? And such an awful sinner. And
when he turned on the light, I seen how he could be just.
and save a sinner like me through the sacrifice, bloodshedding,
doing and dying of the Lord Jesus Christ for me. And I stand in
utter astonishment to as much today as I did back then that
God come down in His blessed sovereign mercy and as Gary sung
in his tune, and did my death embrace And when he embraced
my death, he embraced my sin, and all that's wrong with me,
and all of my darkness, and all of my shame, and all of my sin,
and all of my lying, and all my self-righteousness, and all
of my pride, and everything that's so filthy and wretched, he embraced
it all, embraced it all. And when he embraced death, my
sin died with him, my death died with him, and life came to me. through him and he's the one
that gave me the light I did not have no light until he came
and did that oh my and I'll tell you something beloved it's God
who commanded the light to shine out of darkness and hath shined
in our hearts to give the light the light of the glory of God
in the blessed person of Christ Jesus our Lord you know man doesn't
have the ability or the capacity to see spiritual light. God's
got to do it. And then our Lord turned the
light on, on salvation. He turned the light on salvation.
I just done that. You know, he said, I lay down
my life for the sheep. I never forget when I see that.
I thought that's the greatest thing I've ever heard. That he
laid down his life for the sheep. And then I want to be sheep.
How do I know I want to be sheep? I hear his voice. I heard His
voice. Well, how do you know you heard
His voice? Because I got feet that follows Him wherever He
goes. I follow Him in His Word. I followed Him into the grave.
I followed Him into glory. And I see Him there right now,
seated in Him. I follow Him wherever He goes.
And oh my, our Lord Jesus Christ said, I must suffer, die, and
rise a third day. And oh, bless His holy name.
He turned the light on salvation. And you know what salvation is?
It's knowing Him. It's knowing Him. And then let
me hurry on. He turned on the light on man's
future, man's eternal destiny. You know what, our Lord, when
He turned on the light on man's future, He said, there's two
kind of people in this world. Those who are saved, those who
are lost. Those who are sheep, those who are goats. Those who
are in light, those who are in darkness. That's the only kind
of people. They aren't saved and lost, sheep
or goats. And he says, man's future apart
from Christ giving them light is darkness, wandering through
this world in self-will and human wisdom, treasuring up wrath against
the day of judgment. They come along, say something
good is going to happen to you today. God's got a wonderful
plan for your life if you'll just let him work it out. You'll
go on in that darkness. But I'll tell you something,
this world and all that's in it has no future whatsoever. If you can touch it, if you can
taste it, if you can handle it, it has no future. And I'll tell
you what, then he had the eternal, he told every man their eternal
destiny. Eternal destiny. He said, God's sheep gonna be
on the right. All the sheep when he comes in,
all the sheep be over here on the right, on my right hand.
That's the position of honor. That's the position that they
reserve for the people that's getting honored and our Christ
honors us in his blessed grace. He said, sit over here on my
right, all you goats over here on my left. And them sheep, he
said, oh, he said, I've got a kingdom prepared for you from the foundation
of the world. And you're going to enter into
it. And you goats go into outer darkness, everlasting darkness,
where there's weeping, wailing, and bashing of teeth. Go into
that lake of fire. But you know what? I know I got
to quit. But listen, over in 1 Thessalonians,
it says this. Brethren, talk about our future.
Brethren, I would not have you to be ignorant. concerning them
which are asleep in Jesus. For the Lord Jesus himself shall
descend with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and they
that are dead in Christ shall rise first. And then we which
are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them
in the air, and so shall we ever be with the Lord. And you know
what he said the last words in that? Comfort ye one another
with these words, Well, John 12, 36, and this is,
I'll close with this. Let me read you this one verse.
John 12, 36, 36 and 35 and 36, and I'll close. Then Jesus said unto them, yet
a little while is the light with you. Walk while you have the
light, lest darkness come upon you. For he that walks in darkness,
he don't know where he's going, can't find his way. While you
have the light, believe in the light, that you may be the children
of light, the children of light. Now watch what else he, what
immediately says after that. These things spake Jesus and
departed and did hide himself from them. When he hides himself
from you, you gonna be left in darkness. walk in the light,
because He is that light. So walk in Him, walk through
Him, walk because of Him. He is the light, and His light
is the life, life of man. Our Father, in the blessed name
of Christ, oh and our Lord Jesus. Our Lord Jesus' name. Thank you,
Lord. Oh, blessed be. For allowing
me to preach the gospel, to honor our Lord Jesus Christ, and oh,
the efforts are so feeble, and oh, we don't even become, we
ain't touched the hem of the garment is how we're to honor
and glorify him. But oh, Lord, we're gonna continue
to try. Gonna continue to try. Lord,
bless this word. Oh, Holy Spirit, we know that
you have to take it and make it effectual, make it to be a
blessing. And we ask that you will, for
Christ's sake. Amen. Amen.
