Numbers, chapter 18. Numbers,
chapter 18. And while you're turning, let
me mention a couple of things. We're
first very thankful that the Lord blessed Brother Gary yesterday,
Sunday evening. He started having incredible
chest pains and ended up in the hospital and was in there until
Friday. And the doctor gave him a clean
bill of health until the next time. But we're very grateful
to the Lord. When he has mercy on one, he
has mercy on us all. And also, Pam Dustin, and she's
going to have knee surgery. She's had hip surgery. Now she's
going to have knee surgery Tuesday. And Dick Clocker is in the hospital
with a hernia operation. And so those are some things. And then we've got all the girls
here today. And Marlene's playing the piano. That's been a while
since she's done that, so can you all sing for us today, would
you do that? All right, numbers 18. I'm gonna
read the first 10 verses. And the Lord said unto Aaron,
thou and thy sons and thy father's house with thee shall bear the
iniquity of the sanctuary. And thou and thy sons with thee
shall bear the iniquity of your priesthood. and thy brethren
also of the tribe of levi the tribe of the father of thy father
bring thou with thee that they may be joined unto thee and minister
unto thee but thou and thy sons With thee shall minister before
the tabernacle of witness, and they shall keep thy charge and
the charge of all the tabernacle. Only they shall not come nigh
the vessels of the sanctuary and the altar, that neither they
nor ye also die. And they shall be joined unto
thee and keep the charge of the tabernacle of the congregation
for all the service of the tabernacle. And a stranger shall not come
nigh unto you. And ye shall keep the charge
of the sanctuary and the charge of the altar, that there be no
more wrath any more upon the children of Israel. And I, behold,
I have taken your brethren, the Levites, from among the children
of Israel. To you they are given as a gift
to the Lord to do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation. Therefore thou and thy sons with
thee shall keep your priest office for everything of the altar.
and within the veil, and ye shall serve. I have given your priest
office unto you as a service of gift, and the stranger that
cometh nigh shall be put to death. And the Lord spake unto Aaron,
Behold, I have also given thee the charge of mine heave offerings
of all the hallowed things of the children of Israel. Unto
thee have I given them by reason of the anointing, and to thy
sons by an ordinance for ever. This shall be thine of the most
holy things reserved from the fire, every oblation of theirs,
every meat offering of theirs, every sin offering of theirs,
every trespassing offering of theirs, which they shall render
unto me. They shall be most holy for thee and for thy sons. In
the most holy place shalt thou eat it. Every male shall eat
it. It shall be holy unto thee. We have the calling of Aaron
here. Aaron being set apart to the
priesthood, him and his sons. And the only part they have in
the priesthood is to go behind the holiest of holies and offer
sacrifices on the brazen altar. They weren't supposed to take
care of anything else, just offer sacrifices. And Aaron, once a
year, is supposed to go behind the veil. But here, Aaron, scripture
says that Aaron was not continued his priesthood was not to continue
by reason of a better priesthood a more glorious priesthood and
that's the priesthood forever after the order of Melchizedek
our Lord Jesus Christ. But Aaron the first high priest
the very first high priest called of God, we have a really, really
good type of our Lord Jesus Christ as our high priest, as our high
priest. And I want to say a few things
about our Lord Jesus Christ and how Aaron was a type, that first
high priest was a type, a picture of our Lord Jesus Christ. And
the first thing about him was he was sin of God. He was called
of God and sin of God. And Aaron's name, his Aaron's
name means this, he is enlightener, enlightener. He is a revealer.
And what he was to do, he was to take God's mind and God's
will and speak it out and to tell it and to reveal it. especially
as regards to sacrifices, but also in front of Pharaoh. You keep Numbers 18 and look
in Exodus chapter 4 with me for a moment and look what happens
here. He was sent of God as a revealer.
To reveal the mind, he was to speak for God, reveal God's mind
and will to Pharaoh. And here we have in Exodus 4.14,
Moses said, first of all, God told him to go and he said, I'll
be your mouth and I'll teach you what you'll say. And he said
in verse 13, oh my Lord, send I pray thee by the hand of him
whom thou wilt send. And the anger of the Lord was
kindled against Moses and he said, is not Aaron the Levite
thy brother? I know that he can speak well
and also behold, he cometh forth to meet thee and when he seeth
thee, he will be glad in his heart. And thou shalt speak unto
him and put words in his mouth and I will be with thy mouth
and with his mouth and will teach you what you shall say or do.
So He came to speak what God said for Him to speak. And our
Lord Jesus Christ, He Himself is the Word and the Revelation
of God Almighty. You're talking about the Revealer.
He was to reveal God's will and speak God's mind to Pharaoh.
Our Lord Jesus Christ came to speak and reveal God's mind and
will to us. us as sinners, and he was the
revelation of God Almighty. Our Lord Jesus Christ said this
about himself, he says, No man, no man knows the Father but me,
and no man knows the Son but the Father, and he to whomsoever
I reveal him. And our Lord Jesus Christ, he
himself came, he was in the bosom of the Father, and he came out
from the bosom of the father and his scripture says that he
came to declare him he's the express image of the glory of
god the express image of the word of god god in sundry times
and in divers manners in time past spake unto the fathers by
the prophets but now in these last days he's spoken unto us
how by son by the son the lord jesus christ In the beginning
was the Word. That's our Lord Jesus. The Word
was with God. The Word was God. And the Word
was made manifest. And we beheld His glory. Who?
As the only begotten of the Father. And so you see, our Lord Jesus
Christ, if Aaron was the revealer, how much more is our Lord Jesus
Christ? You see, He's the light of the
world. Aaron just had a little light. Our Lord Jesus Christ
is the light. Our Lord Jesus said, I'm not
only the light, but I'm the light of the world. If anybody has
any revelation, anybody has any understanding, I'm the one that
gives them the light. I'm the one that turns the light
on. A man, I tell you, I was talking to a fellow last night,
and he talked about when all he done when he had some idea
that the Lord done something for him was fight Catholicism
until God saved him. and then when the Lord saved
you, He said, when the light come on, and that's why He said
it said, when the light come on, and that's what happens.
Christ is the light, and He has to turn on the light, and He
is the very light of the Father, the express image and brightness
of His glory, and you're talking about Aaron, God putting His
words in his mouth, and him speaking to Pharaoh, They sent some Pharisees
after our Lord Jesus Christ and said, go get him and bring him.
Well, a whole bunch of them got together and they went to bring
him. And while they walked up to get him, he was preaching.
And they sat there and listened to him preach. And they went
back and they asked him, why didn't you bring him? He said,
we stood there and listened to him, and we never heard a man
speak like this man. Oh, and if he speaks more about
Jesus, would I know? Oh yes. And if you know anything
about him, he's got to be the one. And he's the light. If Aaron
was a spokesman, how much more our Lord. And then look here
in Numbers 18. He had a special anointing. Aaron
had a special anointing. In verse 8, look in chapter 8
and verse 8, 18 and verse 8. And look down in the last part
of the verse, the last. He said, unto thee have I given
them by raising up the anointing, and to thy sons, And so he had
a special anointing. God anointed him for this office. And anointing means the Holy
Spirit coming upon a person. The Holy Spirit, and I tell you,
it's a type of the Holy Spirit. And you keep this, and look in
Psalm 133. Here's exactly what it says about
Aaron. And that day he was anointed
and set apart for the priesthood. Psalm 133 in verse two. He said,
unto thee have I given them, given thee charge over the ministry
and charge over the offerings of the hallowed things of Israel
by the anointing. And the anointing is the precious
ointment that was poured on him, a type of the Holy Spirit. And
look what it says about him in verse two. Behold how good and
pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity. It's
like the precious ointment. This is the day he was anointed
to his priesthood. upon the head, took us holy oil,
this ointment, and poured it upon the head, that ran down
upon the beard, even Aaron's beard, and went down to the skirts
of his garments." It ran all over him, all over his head,
run down his beard, went all the way down the front of his
garments. He had that oil all over him. And oh, listen, when
it says it was running down, indicated a fullness and overflowing
measure. And the scriptures tells us in
John 3 that our Lord Jesus Christ, God gave Him the Holy Spirit. He's the only man who had the
Holy Spirit without measure. Everybody else has just a measure
of it. We just have a measure of it.
If we had the Holy Spirit the way our Lord did, we'd be perfect
like He was. But He had the Holy Spirit without
measure. That's why He could send His
Word and heal them. That's why He just could put
His hand on somebody and do something for them. And He had the Holy
Spirit without measure as a man, as a prophet, and as a priest.
He had the Holy Ghost on Him like nobody else did. and the
scriptures tells us in Acts 1038 that the Holy Ghost was upon
him and he went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed. Our Lord Jesus Christ is called
a precious ointment, precious ointment. And they made this
ointment. God told them exactly how to
make this ointment. You can read about it in Exodus
if you want to. Exodus 30, 25 through verse 30. And they took that. God said,
this is what I want you to do. Take this, take this other thing.
And He told them all the different things to take and said, and
beat them all together. and make all this wonderful ointment,
and make this ointment, and I tell you, you're going to use the
ointment upon the priest, and then you're going to take some
of it, and you're going to put it in the altar of incense, so
that when that altar of incense is set on fire, there'll be a
sweet fragrance of this ointment. And our Lord Jesus Christ had
this ointment on Him, and that made Him unto us a savor of life. Christ is a savor of life to
us, the fragrance of life. And oh, it's a precious ointment.
And oh, the Holy Spirit, sweet fragrance. And that sweet fragrance
was upon Aaron, upon the priest, and upon his sons, and it was
in the holiest of holies, that incense where they'd go in there
every day in that holy place and they'd put that ointment
there and they'd set it on fire and that fragrance would grow
up. And our Lord Jesus Christ, that sweet fragrance. And you
know where He was crushed at? You know what made Him a sweet
fragrance unto us? He was crushed. He was crushed. And all the elements that went
into crushing Him, God's justice, God's wrath, God's law, our sin,
our guilt, our shame, all of them went into crushing Him.
And that's why He was made a sweet savor unto us. Oh, what a sweet
savor He is to us. Huh? And let me show you something
else. He had charge, type of our Lord
Jesus Christ. He had charge of all the holy
things. Look back up here in verse five of Numbers 18. And
this word charge means to command. And you shall charge, you shall
keep charge of the sanctuary and the charge of the altar that
there be no more wrath upon the children of Israel. Now that
tells us something right there. Somebody has to have charge of
the altar and somebody has charge of the holy things and the congregation
the service of the congregation or the wrath of God's gonna be
on us and he says you gonna have service over this so that the
wrath of God won't be on the children of Israel. Now the wrath
of God wasn't gonna be on anybody but them and that's what he's
talking about. You're gonna save them from that
and then look down again and And verse eight, and he said
unto Aaron, behold, I have also given thee the charge of mine
heave offerings of all the holy things of the children of Israel.
And all he said, he was given charge of all the holy things. And that reason it was to save
this child so the wrath of God wouldn't come upon the children
of Israel. Now our Lord Jesus, he had charge just over the tabernacle,
the altar, the holy things and the offerings. But our Lord Jesus
Christ has charge over everything in this world. He had charge
over just a little bit. Our Lord Jesus has charge over
everything. What did Isaiah say? He said
the government, didn't say it'd be on his shoulders, but the
government should be up on his shoulder. He's got the government
on this shoulder and he's got his sheep on this shoulder. you know he's all things he has
charge of he has charge over life do you know that he has
charge over life he has charge over who he gives spiritual life
to he said i have given eternal life unto them whom thou hast
given me and our lord jesus christ has the power over every man's
life He can give life or He can leave you in death. He can give
you life or He can leave you to yourself. He can either quicken
you from the death of your sins or leave you in the death of
your sins. He's the all power over life and death is given
unto Him. and bless His holy name. That's
why we go and ask for sinners. That's why we pray to God for
sinners and people that we love, because He's the only one that
can give them life. I can't change a heart. I can't
even change a man's mind. I can't open a person's mind.
I can get to the ear, but only God can get to the mind. Only
God can get to the heart. And that's why we pray for our
children and pray for our husbands and pray for our wives. Why? Because Christ is the only one
that can give them life. We ask Him who's got it to give
it. And He's the only one. He's got
power over all life. And I'll tell you what. A fellow
asked me the other day, he said, oh my, what's going to happen,
you know? He said, when we face God, he said, we're going to
have to face God for all the works that we've done in this
body and in this flesh. He said, what's going to happen?
I said, I'll tell you what's going to happen to me and every
believer in Christ. God's going to justify us before
the whole world. I've already been judged. I've
already paid for my sins. I've already died. And Christ
is the one who died for me and gives life now. And not only
that, but all judgment's given unto him. The Father judgeth
no man. You know what he's done? He said,
he's given me all judgment. And the Acts says this, that
God's going to judge the world in righteousness by that man
he hath ordained. All power and authority, he said,
is mine. He's the head of the church.
He's the head of the church. We're just his body, members
of his body. He's the head. And the head gets
all the attention. The head gets all the glory.
Ain't that right? I mean, we got up and combed
her hair and shaved her face and put all kinds of smelling
on. It's the head that we take care of more than anything else.
Don't we remove her head and her hair? But that's what it is. I mean,
our Lord Jesus Christ. And I tell you, he says he has
the keys of hell and he has the keys of death. Where's he got
them on? Right there on his girl. hanging right there. People say,
well, you'll go to hell by yourself. No, I ain't nobody. You wouldn't
know the way to get there. Christ has to unlock it and put
people there. He's got the keys to it. And
He has the keys of David. When He opens, no man can shut. But when He shuts, ain't nobody
gonna open. And He's locked hell for me.
And He's locked hell for everybody for whom He died. And He's unlocked
it for everybody who refuses to bow to Him and acknowledge
Him. Ain't that right? And then when He shut it for
us, ain't nobody gonna open it. But when He opens for them who
won't bow to Him and submit to Him, ain't nobody gonna close
it. Yeah? Oh my. And I tell you, and this
is another thing, that He was given charge over this. And what
our Lord Jesus Christ makes accepted is accepted without any question. Without any question whatsoever.
And what He refuses to accept Nothing can make it acceptable.
And I tell you what, He bore the iniquity of the holy things.
Look over here in Exodus 28. You know, our Lord bore the iniquity
of the holy things of His people. We're in here this morning and
we're dealing with holy things. We're dealing with issues, scriptural
issues, biblical issues, truthful issues, issues of life and death,
issues of holy things. And here, look what it says.
In verse 38, X is 2838. Aaron's going to have this mitre
upon his head. Going to be on the forefront.
He's going to say, hold on this to the Lord. And it shall be
upon Aaron's forehead that Aaron may bear the iniquity of the
holy things which the children of Israel shall hallow, and all
their holy gifts. Now we're here to offer prayers,
we're here to offer thanksgiving, we're here to sing psalms and
hymns of praise, and we have enough sin in our prayers, enough
sin in our worship, that it would be absolutely, totally unaccepted. But we got one who bears all
our holy things. He's already atoned for our sins
of our wandering minds, our sins of our weak bodies, the sins
of our inattention, the sins of our prayers, the sins of our
singing, He's already atoned for. And He's in the presence
of God atoning, making those things acceptable to God. How
in the world would our, how would our prayers be acceptable if
it wasn't for Christ? Huh? How would it be? Alright,
let me tell you something else he had. And our Lord Jesus Christ,
He's just a faint type, really, when you start thinking about
it, He's a type. And all types fall short, very short of what
our Lord Jesus Christ is. But He had the privilege of eating
in the holy place. Look in Numbers 18.10. He had
the privilege of eating in the holiest place. And it's said
here in verse 10, in the most holy place that you're going
to get to eat, there's sacrifices. And every male shall eat it,
it shall be holy unto thee." So what God says, you know, He
said, do sacrifices. Some of that, that's going to
be yours to eat. Some of that's going to be yours and your son's
to eat. And He said, you eat it in the
holy place. You eat it right here where holiness dwells. And our Lord Jesus Christ, He
got to eat in the holy place. But our Lord Jesus, you talk
about what He ate. He says, My meat, My meat is
to do the will of Him that sent Me. and finish the work that
he gave me to do. He said, lo, I come, I delight
to do thy will, yea, thy law is within my heart. And I tell
you what, our Lord Jesus dwelled in the secret place of God's
holy presence, and his soul was satisfied. And I'll tell you
something else about it. Our Lord Jesus Christ, he's done
entered into that secret place, he's entered into the holiest
of holies, he's in the presence of God right now. And you know
that's where we dwell with Him? We dwell with Him where He's
at. The scriptures tells us we're hidden with Christ in God, who
is our life. And right now, we're here this
morning, and what we're doing, we're eating on this blessed
manna, that our Lord Jesus Christ himself is that manna, that bread
which came down from heaven. And we feed on Christ, he's in
the holiest of holies, but we feed on Christ every day. We
feed on Christ, he is our life, he's our bread, he's our water.
He's our hiding place. He's our light. He's our life. He's our guide. He's our shepherd.
He guards us. Oh, my. He gets to eat in the
holy place. Guess what? We get to eat in
the holy place. Not only do we get to eat in
the holy place, but we get to eat Him who is holy. He said,
except ye eat my flesh and drink my blood, you got no part in
you. Lord, Give us evermore this bread. That's what they said.
Evermore give us this bread. If that's what it's gonna take,
give it to us, give it to us. That's what they said. Give it
to us. And oh, let me show you something else that he did. That's
why you know we feed on Christ. He's in the holiest of all. He
appears in the presence of God for us now. And we come into
the holiest of holies by a new and living way, by the blood
of the Lord Jesus Christ. And another way he's a type of
our Lord Jesus Christ, he redeemed the unclean. Look down here in
verse 15 of Numbers 18. He redeemed the unclean. Look
down in verse 15. Everything that openness the
matrix in all flesh, which they'll bring unto the Lord, whether
it be of men or beast shall be thine. Nevertheless, the firstborn
of man shalt thou surely redeem, and the firstling of unclean
beast shalt thou redeem. Man, the first man that's born,
got to be redeemed. And then he said he redeems the
unclean. And that's what we was, unclean. We're like that leopard running
around here, unclean, unclean, unclean. And our Lord Jesus Christ,
and here's what he does, is he, man here, is classed with unclean
beasts in need of redemption. Man don't like, but that's what
we're, God here says classified us as unclean beasts. need to
be redeemed. And old George Whitfield used
to say, man is half beast and half devil left to himself. And
I tell you what, Christ has redeemed us. And oh, how all of our righteousness
were as a filthy rag. We were all as an unclean thing. We were full of wounds and bruises
and putrefying sores from the top of our head to the sole of
our feet. And that's what God said about
us. So how in the world are we going to be cleansed without
the shedding of blood? There is no remission of sins.
And our Lord Jesus Christ has redeemed us from the curse of
the law. God commendeth his love toward
us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us,
much more than being justified by His blood. We should be saved
through Him. And I tell you what, Revelations
1 5 says this, that He loved us, loved us and washed us from
our sins in His own blood. And that word washed there means
laved us. You know, they had the laver.
When they went into the holy place, they had a big laver there.
And they would come in there and wash their hands and wash
their feet before. It's the first thing they saw when they walked
in there. They had to wash themselves to come on in. And so our Lord
Jesus Christ is that place where we're washed before we can come
into God's presence. And he washes us. And what did
he wash us with? His blood. How can red blood
take a black sinner and make him white as snow? But that's
what happens. That's what happens. And let
me tell you something about redemption. Redemption means three things.
Three things. Ransom he gave his life as a
ransom for many and you know what ransom means somebody holds
you and say now listen you give us this much money and we'll
let him go and Then not only that but see our Lord paid the
price for our ransom what held us. I sin held us justice held
us law held us they say he saved us from the devil he we got to
be god listen sin holds us justice holds us law holds us and i tell
you what the price has to be paid for sin Justice has to be
satisfied. Law must be upheld. And our Lord
Jesus Christ did all those things to save us from our sins, so
He ransomed them. His blood was the price of ransom.
And then this word, it also means to rescue. Rescue, to go and
reach, and not only that, but go and get them. Make sure you
get what you paid for. Well, He come to rescue us from
this present evil world. Rescue us from the bondage that
we were held under. And then the last thing it means,
ransom, rescue, and then after they ransom and rescue you, you're
free. They release you, let you go.
And our Lord Jesus Christ paid the price, rescued us from this
present evil world, and set us free. And whom the Son sets free,
you know what he is? He's free indeed. Ain't he? He's
free indeed. Bless his name. And let me show
you something else where he's a type of our Lord. Here in verse
six. In verse six of Numbers 18, verse six. And I behold,
now this is the Lord speaking now. And I behold, I have taken
your brethren, the Levites, from among the children of Israel.
To you they are given as a gift for the Lord to do the service
of the tabernacle of the congregation. Now just him and his sons took
care of the sacrifices, the brazen altar, and the altar of incense,
and the holiest of holies, where the mercy seat was. That's the
only thing they'd done, was offer sacrifices. Somebody else had
to do everything else, everything else. Keep water in it, keep
fire on the altar, and they had all these servants given to them.
And I'll tell you what, do you know what? Every one of us were
given to the Lord Jesus Christ, given unto him as a gift, a gift. All that the Father giveth me,
every single one of you, shall come to me. And him, him, him
that cometh to me, I'll never, under no circumstances, ever
cast him out. And that's why our Lord Jesus
Christ says, I have given eternal life to as many, as many as thou
hast given me. And oh, bless his name. And he
says, Father, they were thine and you gave them to me. Gave
them to me. And I'll tell you what, they
were given to labor and they all had a course that they went
up there and spent a certain amount of time at the tabernacle
doing certain things. And you know what Peter told
us? And I'll tell you, Revelation says God made us kings and priests
unto God. Kings and priests. What do we
have to offer as priests? Spiritual sacrifices made acceptable
to God through our Lord Jesus Christ. We give the fruit of
our lips Thanksgiving. And I'll tell you something else.
Look what else it says down here in verse 4. Last part in verse
4. they shall be joined unto thee and keep the charge of the
tabernacle the congregation for all the service of the tabernacle
and watch this and a stranger shall not come nigh unto you
and look down in verse last part of verse seven says the very
same thing the last part of the verse and the stranger that cometh
nigh shall be put to death one place they're not going to have
no part come nigh unto you and the next place it says it should
be put to death no strangers no strangers were given to him. Strangers could not enter into
the service. They had to be called of God, had to be set apart of
God. But let me tell you something. Paul said in Ephesians 2, we're
no longer strangers and foreigners, but now we're fellow citizens
with the saints of God. So we could come now. and we
won't be put to death because we're no longer strangers. We're
no longer aliens. Now we're fellow citizens with
the saints and with the household of God. No longer strangers. And let me give you a couple
other things and I'll wind this up. He had his seed blessed in
him. He had his seed blessed in him.
Look down in verse 19. He had his seed blessed in him.
And his seed means his children, all of his children. And it says,
And all the heave offerings of all the holy things which the
children of Israel offer unto thee have I given thee and thy
sons and thy daughters with thee by statute for ever. It is a
covenant of salt for ever before the Lord unto thee. And listen
to this, And to thy seed with thee. I'm going to bless all
your seed. And I, Lord Jesus Christ, He
saw the travail of His soul, He shall see His seed, and you
know what He says? You'll be satisfied. Who's His
seed? We are. We're His seed. There's
only one seed, that's the Lord Jesus Christ, but we were all
begotten. What seed is it that He uses
to begin us with? With the Word of God. With the
Word of God, the seed. And all blessings, and he said,
I'm going to bless your seed after you with a statute forever,
with a covenant forever. Well, guess what? All spiritual
blessings. We got all blessings. We're at
in Christ. All spiritual blessings are in
Christ. And all of our blessings come
for Christ's sake. A man was talking the other day,
he was talking to me, and he was He's in real trouble. I hope the Lord does something
for him. He's in real trouble in his mind and his heart. But
he started talking about blessings, you know, and he didn't deserve
any blessings. And I said, of course, you don't
deserve no blessings. Don't deserve anything. That's
why it's called grace. That's why it's called grace.
And I told him this, and I believe this with all my heart. There's
not anything that I can do to earn one blessing from God. Not
one. I cannot earn a blessing from
God. Can I pray enough that God would bless me for my praying?
Can I give enough that God would bless me for my giving? Can I
be voted enough that God would bless me for my devotion? Can
I attend enough services that God bless me for my services?
Can I preach pure enough, powerful enough, pure enough that God
would bless me for my preaching? You know where our blessings
come from? Through Christ and for Christ's sake. And now, what do we do? Say,
thank you, Lord. Blessed be your holy name. And
you know what blessings I'm interested in? I'm not interested in being
blessed with a bigger house, or better car, or more money,
or even health. I'm interested in the blessings
that God gives me in Christ. He's done, as far as this world's
concerned, I've got more than I could ever dream in my life.
I couldn't dream as big as how God's provided for me in this
world. I couldn't dream that big. But
all of those things are going to be left behind. Go leave the
house. Go leave the cars. Go leave the
money. Go leave the health. Go go be
with Christ. So that's what matters is blessings
that we have in Christ. Blessings of justification. Blessings
of forgiveness. Blessings of righteousness. Blessings
of acceptance. Blessings of forgiveness. Blessings
of eternal glory that we're going to have with Him one of these
days. That's what counts. Believe me, that's what matters.
Oh and I tell you, listen, we are complete in Him in whom is all fullness of the
Godhead dwells bodily. And then my last point's this
and I just got through preaching it but I'm gonna go over it again.
Look what he says here in verse 20. and the Lord spake unto Aaron,
thou shalt have no inheritance in their land, neither shalt
thou have any part among them. I am thy part and thine inheritance
among the children of Israel." He said, you ain't getting nothing,
you're getting me. Everybody else is going to have
something. What's gonna be your inheritance?
They'll say, hey, what's your inheritance? God is. You know our Lord Jesus had no
earthly inheritance. He said, foxes have homes, birds
of the air have nests, but the son of man hath not a place to
lay his head. One night he was preaching, and everybody went
to their own house, and the Lord was left alone. Huh? And oh my,
everybody wants an inheritance, but the Father himself was our
Lord's great reward. He says, Father, glorify thou
me with thine own self before the world was, for I finished
the work you gave me to do. And you know what our part is?
You know what our part is? Look in Psalm 73. This is our
part. God's our part. You know, he
told Abraham, He told Abraham, he said, I'll be thy exceeding
great reward. Abraham said, Lord, what are
you going to give me? He said, I'll be your exceeding great reward.
I'll be your exceeding great reward. And he's our part. That's
our inheritance. We're joint heirs with Christ.
Whatever he inherits, we get it. Ain't that right? And look
what he said here in Psalm 73, 26. My flesh and my heart faileth,
but God is the strength of my heart. And listen to this, and
my portion forever. That's what we sang about this
morning in that hymn. The Lord himself shall come and
gird himself and make us sit down and feed us with holy manna
all around. Huh? Oh my. What a portion we've
got. We get, we're like that old woman,
you know, that old John Warburton went to eat with one time. And
it might've been John Button, not John Warburton. I believe
it's John Bunyan. He went to eat with us. He was
traveling through one time and going preaching. He stopped and
he's eating at this old woman's cottage. And they sat there and
had a piece of bread. That's all they had in a little
old bitty cottage. Glass of water. She said, Lord,
Thank you for this bread and thank you for this water, all
this, and Christ too, Christ beside. Bread and water and Christ
beside. Ain't that right? What a glorious
Savior is our Savior. And Aaron is just a very small
part, just no types perfect. But whatever he had, our Lord
has 10,000, 1,000, 1,000 times over. Amen. Our Father, oh, our gracious
Father, our blessed Savior, thank you for allowing us to gather
this morning to worship, to preach, to sing, to worship you. Lord,
I feel like maybe we worship for a moment, and I thank you
for it. Oh, how I bless you for being
able to enter into your presence, to feel like we're in your presence,
to have this wonderful spirit of God. Lord, bless this gospel. Bless the word. Lord, it's in
your hands to do with it what seemeth good in your sight. And
I pray you make it effectual. Make it effectual. We ask these
things in Christ's name. Amen. Amen.
