It says there in verse 26, If any man among you seem to
be religious, religious, and bridleth not his tongue,
but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain. He's talking about religion.
Now I want to talk about true religion. true religion. It's not hard to find religion.
I mean, you can find religion everywhere. It's everywhere you
look. Everywhere you look. And no matter
what name it goes by, if it's not true religion, it's vain
religion. And if a man seems to be religious,
he says, Do you know that the first murder on the face of this
earth was over religion? The first murder on this earth
was over religion. Two brothers, Cain and Abel. Abel came to God when he became
of age and he brought him a lamb. And he took that lamb and he
offered his blood before God. Because without the shedding
of blood there is no remission of sin. There has to be the innocent
for the guilty. There has to be someone die if
sin is going to be atoned for. And so Abel brought that blood.
He brought that lamb. And God had respect under his
offering. Now his brother Cain, he was
the first farmer. And he went out and planted him
a good crop. Brought him some big ole yellow ears of corn and
brought him some big green beans about yea long. I mean the curse
hadn't really took an effect yet and he brought all this wonderful
stuff and brought it to the altar and made it before God. God said,
I ain't having nothing to do with that. And it made Cain angry. And he went out from the presence
of the Lord, he was very upset. And he went off and slew his
brother Abel. You know why? Because his righteousness
and his works was accepted in Cain's weapon. And he hated his
brother and he hated God. He couldn't get to God, but he
could get to his brother. He couldn't kill God, but he
could kill his brother. He couldn't change his religion,
but he could kill the one whose religion was right and true.
And I tell you what, let me tell you something else. In Genesis
11, you can look at it yourself when you get home. Everybody
on the face of the earth had one language. Everybody on the
earth had one language. One day a bunch of people got
together and they was very religious. They said, let's go build us
a city. To make ourselves a great name.
Then we're going to build us a tower. And we'll take that
tower and we'll build that tower all the way up to heaven. We'll
work our way up to, we'll build us a tower, and we'll get to
God through this tower, and we'll have us a city, and everybody
will say, boy, them folks really, really are doing something for
Jesus. Look at that tower they built.
They wanted to get up there. And God came down and looked
at them, and He says, oh, and He confounded them, and everybody
started talking, and nobody could understand who they was talking
to. God confounded their language and scattered them all over the
earth from that day forth. And you know in Moses' day, I'm
talking about religion. Vain religion. But I want to
talk about true religion. In Moses' day and in our Lord's
day, the people were deeply, deeply religious. Oh, they're
so religious. They kept all the ceremonies.
They had seven feasts that they went to every year. They had
ceremony after ceremony that they had to go through. A lamb
every morning, a lamb every evening. And they had 613 laws of religion
that they had to keep. And then when the Lord Jesus
Christ came, of the seed of David, they rejected Him, turned thumbs
down on Him, and nailed Him to a cross. And they said the religion
did not change one iota. They was thinking they was doing
God a service. And Paul, and look with me over
in Acts 17. You keep James there for a minute.
Look at Acts 17 with me just a moment. Paul's on Mars Hill. He's on Mars Hill. And it said in verse 22, Acts
17, 22. Oh, you're talking about religion. Get an opportunity to witness
to somebody and they ask you what you believe and you say,
free grace, sovereign grace. What do you mean by that? And
you explain it to them and the first thing they want to say,
you say, well, don't you have to accept Jesus? And I say, no,
no, Christ has to accept you. Well, how in the world, why do
people go to hell? And I said, because they deserve to. Men go to hell because the sinner
says, well, I'm not about to accept Jesus. Listen, let me
tell you something. There's a multitude of people that's never heard
the name of Jesus Christ. And they'll go to hell just as
much as people who know it. And I'm going to tell you something.
I'm going to tell you, everybody goes to hell because they deserve
to go. And I'll tell you this, nobody that's saved does not
deserve to be saved. It's God that makes the choice.
And here's the thing about it, I'd rather go to hell, some place
where I've never, I'd rather go to hell out of China, or Africa,
or any place on the face of the earth than out of America. Because
people have Bibles, they've got churches, they've got, there's
people that preach the gospel, there's sermonaries of many means
in which to learn the gospel, and many means to avail yourself
of true religion. Many means, and if you're going
to go to hell, don't go to hell out of America. Because I'll
tell you what, the judgment for people out of America is going
to be awful. You know anybody that don't have a Bible? You know anybody that ain't heard
a religious preacher on television? Have you heard anybody that ain't
been witness to or read a tract? Huh? Have you ever met anybody
that didn't absolutely look religious from the top of their head to
the sole of their foot? Beards and hats and white shirts
and black pants? And make everything they do and
everything they work at be their glory? And look what Paul said here
in Acts 15, 17, 22. Then Paul stood in the midst
of Mars Hill. That's a big court up there in
Athens. And said, you men of Athens,
I perceive that in all things you are too superstitious. You
know what that word superstitious means? Religious. I perceive
that in everything you are too religious. For I passed through
this place and I looked at all of you, you had your devotions.
Oh, you're so devoted. And I've passed by all your devotions
and all your altars, and I saw all your gods, and then I saw
a great big altar with this inscription, to the unknown God. They said,
in case we miss one, in case there's one out there that we
ain't got a name for, and we don't know what he's gonna do,
let's name him unknown. And Paul said, you, therefore
you ignorantly worship Him, declare I unto you. He said, you're just
way, way too religious. And that's the way people are,
beloved. They're way too religious. And that's the whole problem
in this world, as far as I can see. Too many gods, too many
religions, too many ways to heaven. I hear a fellow say all the time,
he said, there's so many different ways you can get to Central Park.
He said, that's as many ways as you can get to heaven. We're
not going to Central Park. There may be a lot of ways to
Central Park, but there ain't but one way. And that's what
I'm going to talk about. The Word of God says this, and
I want you to see this over in Ephesians 4. The word of God says that there
is only one way, one thing in Ephesians 4. Look at it. That's the whole problem in this
world. Too many gods, too many religions, too many ways to heaven. Everybody's got their own way, got their own ideas, got their
opinions. And the word of God says, look
what he said here now in verse 4, Ephesians 4. Talking about
too many? There's one body, one spirit,
even as you are called in one hope of your calling, one Lord,
one faith, one baptism, one God and Father who is above all and
through all and in you all. One. Just one. Just one. Huh? Just one. So what is true
religion? If I ask you what is true religion?
And the scriptures use the word true all over the place. I mean, the word true is over
and over and over again in the scriptures, especially concerning
our faith and our relationship to God. Over in 1 John 5.20,
we've looked at it so many times, you don't have to turn. But it
says there that the Son of God hath come. We know that the Son
of God has come. and has given us an understanding
that we may know Him that is true." True. And we are in Him
that is true. Even in His Son Jesus Christ,
this is the true God. How many times is true mentioned
in that one verse? Huh? True. True God. True God. Even in His Son, the
Lord Jesus Christ. The true God. The true way. And
you know what our Lord Jesus said about Himself? And what
the scripture tells us about him? John 1, 9 says that God,
Lord Jesus Christ is the true light that came into this world. I'll tell you a story about a
true light. There used to be, and there probably still is,
a church up in Muncie, Indiana called True Light Baptist Church.
Bruce Crafts, he went there for years until God saved him and
taught him the gospel. And he had Henry Mahan go and
got Henry Mahan and said y'all need Brother Henry to come over
here and preach to you. So he had Brother Henry and they got
Brother Henry in there to hear him preach, you know, got to
talking to some of them folks and he said let's get Henry Mahan
over here and Henry will be a blessing to y'all. And Brother Henry,
I tell you, if y'all ever heard him preach and ever seen him
preach, and all of you have, but Henry, you know, if you get
offended, you can't get offended at his demeanor. You can't get
offended at how he acts. You're going to get offended
at what he says, the gospel. First night, sit there and listen.
Second night, early the next morning, the preacher called
Bruce and said, tell that Brother Mahan not to come back. Said, he said, folks just wore
me out last night calling me, telling me that they didn't want
to hear what he had to say anymore. And just heard two messages. And they call themselves the
true light. And our Lord called Himself the
true light. And our Lord Jesus Christ said
in John 15, He says, I am that true vine. I'm the true vine. And our Lord, and Paul said in
Acts 8.22, He says, Jesus Christ is the true tabernacle. which
the Lord pitched, and not man. They pitched the tabernacle in
the wilderness. God said, I pitched the true
tabernacle, the Lord Jesus Christ. And I look over at first, we're
right here in James, look over to your right, 1 Peter 5, 12. And this is, look what it says
here about our Lord Jesus, the true grace of God. Our Lord Jesus Christ is the
true grace of God. Look what he said here in 1 Peter
5, verse 12. Vasilvanus, a faithful brother
unto you as I suppose, I have written briefly, exhorting and
testifying that this is the true grace of God wherein you stand.
See how it stands about true, true, true, true? Oh, and our
Lord Jesus Christ is called a true and faithful witness. Amen. And when Paul was in prison,
he told Timothy, and he told all of us, he said, Be not ashamed,
be not ashamed of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, of
whom I'm a prisoner. Be not ashamed, for God has saved
us and called us. Don't you be ashamed of this.
This is the gospel. And I may be in prison for it,
Paul said, but don't you be ashamed of it. Don't you be ashamed of
me. Don't you be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord Jesus Christ
who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according
to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which
was given us in Christ Jesus before the world ever began.
Now could you be ashamed of that? And that's true religion, beloved.
We sing that old song, and I thought this morning, I may try a verse
of it, but I'm not going to. But I love to tell the story
of unseen things above, of Jesus and His glory, of Jesus and His
love. I love to tell the story. It
did so much for me, and that's just the reason I tell it now
to thee. Oh my! And I tell you, by God's
blessed grace, God brought me the gospel, taught me the gospel
in the late 70s, and in the early 80s, in 81, he really nailed
it down for me. And I was a very young man. I've
been preaching it now all these years. And I tell you something,
beloved, oh, the grace of God. But let me tell you, and let's
listen to this thing. I've got just four or five little
points here for you. What is true religion? How can
you know you got through religion? How can you know? Well, it starts
and it arises from a knowledge of who God is and who we are. If you know God, then you know
yourself. If you ever see God, then you
can't help but see yourself. Is that not right? You see, God
is life. God is light. Man by nature is
dead in sin. Born in sin will live in sin
and die in sin if God don't give him. God is light. We by nature
are dead in sin. God is light. There's no parable
or shattering about Him. And men by nature walk in darkness
and love darkness. And God is holy. His words are
called holy, God's called holy, Christ is called holy, the angels
are called holy. And I tell you, God is holy. And Solomon said this, he says,
is there a just man upon the face of the earth that doeth
good and sinneth not? Is there anybody anywhere? And
then he says in the scripture, and they sung it so well this
morning, God is love. God is love. People say, my God
of God is a God of love. Well, the true God is a God of
love. He is love. And if anybody has any love,
God put it in their heart. But men, hey, our Lord says,
men hated me without a cause. They that hated me without a
cause are more than the hairs of my head. And look over in
Isaiah 6 with me just a minute. Oh, this is what, we're talking
about true religion, this is what happens. Isaiah 6. We've seen this so many times,
but this is a perfect scriptural illustration of it. Isaiah 6. Look what he says here. Oh my. God says he's truth. Man are
liars. and his best takes all together
vanity look what he says now Isaiah said in the year that
king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon
a throne high and lifted up if you ever see God he's going to
be sitting on a throne he's high and he's lifted up he's not down
here standing pecking at your hearts door he's not begging
you to accept him He's not saying, please, please, please let me
have my way with you. No, no, if you ever see Him,
He's going to be high and He's going to be on a throne. And
His glory filled that whole temple. And above that train, above that
Christ our Lord, He said He saw the seraphims had six wings,
with two He covered His face. Oh God so holy I've got to cover
my eyes. And with two He covered His feet.
My feet, oh, they're so swift to shed blood, I need to cover
them up. And with two he flyeth. Then one cried one to another,
Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts. The whole earth is
full of his glory, but men don't see it. And then look what he
says down in verse 5. When he saw the Lord, you know
what the first thing he said after he saw Him? He said, Woe
is me. I'm undone. I'm undone. I'm a man of unclean lips. Nothing's
ever good come out of these lips of mine. And not only that, but
everybody around me, everybody I live among is exactly like
me, a people of unclean lips. And then he says, for mine eyes
have seen the King, the Lord at host. Oh, listen, that's the
experience that you're going to have to have. That's the experience. Let me tell you something. People
say they see the sin and they start coming to God. You'll see
the Lord, and when you see the Lord, that's when you'll see,
woe is me. When you see God, then you'll
say, woe is me. I thought He was this way, but
He's holy. I thought I was good, but I found
out I'm a sinner. I thought I could approach Him
any way I wanted to, but I found out I could only approach Him
through the righteousness of God and the blood of Christ.
I thought that I could get by with this, and oh, I got saved
when I was 14 years old. Oh, did you now? How'd that happen? Did you see the Lord? Did you
see Him high? Did you see Him lifted up? Did
you see His glory? Did you see His holiness? If
you ever saw Him high on His throne, you'll lay yourself down
in the dust, and you'll prostrate yourself, and you'll cry, woe
is me! I'm undone! And you know you
are. And I tell you what, that's what's
going to happen. Oh, if you ever see the Lord,
you ain't got no place to go but to the dust. Where else you
gonna go? And I'll tell you what, I'll
tell you true religion comes out of an experience like that,
a knowledge of who God is. High and lifted up. Knowledge
of who you are. Roll with me. I'm undone. I'm undone. Have you ever got
undone? You ever come undone? Let me
tell you something else about true religion. It comes from
an understanding of how God saves sinners. How does God save sinners? How does God save sinners? How
does He do it? You know how He saves them? By
the sacrifice of His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. That's how
He done it. He offered His own Son. He delivered His Son up. Offered
Him. That's why he said, as Moses
lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the
Son of Man be lifted up. Why did he lift up that serpent?
Because man had sinned. Why was Christ lifted up? Because
man had sinned. And oh, that's why Paul said
this, he says, but God who is rich in mercy, for the great
love were with thee loved us even when we were dead in trespasses
and sins. He hath quickened us together
and gave us eternal life in Christ. And he says, for by grace are
you saved through faith, and that's not of yourself. What
is it? It's the gift of God. God gives it to you. God gives
it to you. Look with me in Hebrews 9.11.
Let's just go through a few things about our Lord Jesus Christ.
Go through a few things about Him. Hebrews 9. Oh, here's the true way of life.
You want to know the way of life? The true way of life. That's
why we say, I need thee, oh, I need thee. I need thee. Oh, he said here in verse 11,
Hebrews 9, but Christ being come, a high priest of good things
to come. He was going to be a high priest
of good things, blessed things. Those high priests, they lived
and they died, and they offered often sacrifices that could never
ever take away sins. And then look down in there in
verse 12. Neither by the blood of goats and calves, now listen
to it, by His own blood, by His own blood, He entered into the
holy place once into the holy place he didn't have to go over
and over he went in once into the holy place and what did he do when he entered
in there he entered in there with his own blood not the blood
of bulls and goats but with his own blood and he entered into
the holy place and when he got there he obtained Eternal redemption. Eternal from the day God, He
sends the Lamb slain till all the end of eternity. Our Lord
Jesus Christ put away all of our sins once and for all. And
look what He goes on to say down in verse 15. And for this cause, because he
entered once, because he's the high priest, and because he entered
into that holy place with his own blood, and for this cause
he's the mediator of the new covenant. By means of death. And oh beloved, we have redemption,
we have salvation, we've received eternal life. through our Lord
Jesus Christ in an eternal inheritance that He gave us. And look down
at verse 24 now. Listen to this. Talking about
our Lord Jesus Christ, the way of life by Him. Oh, He came as
our high priest. He entered into the holy place
with His own blood. Got eternal redemption for us.
And God made Him the mediator of the new covenant. And He gave
us the promise of eternal inheritance. And then look what he says, for
Christ, in verse 24, is not an image of the holy place made
with hands. They're just typical, now listen to it, of the truth.
Where's he at then? He's in heaven itself. Oh, what's he doing up there? He's appearing for us. Huh? He's standing up there. Who's
he appearing for? Us. Us. The same ones that he shed his
blood for, the same ones that he obtained eternal redemption
for, the same ones he's a high priest for, the same ones he
entered in with his blood for. Oh, bless his holy name. And
then look down in verse 28. So Christ was once offered to
bear the sins of many, oh my, and unto them that looked for
him. And I'm looking, are you looking for Him? I'm looking for Him to come.
That's what He's talking about. Unto them that look for Him shall
He appear the second time. And He won't come as a sacrifice
for sin. He won't come as an offering for sin. He'll come
with that salvation that He accomplished for all His elect. That's what
He's coming for. That's what He's coming for.
And let me ask you. Oh, remember this, don't never
forget this. Don't never forget this. We preach
this all the time. Jesus Christ our Lord said, I'm
the way, I'm the truth, and I'm the life. Our Lord Jesus Christ
is the way. Without Him, we're lost. Without
Him, we're lost. I'd say everybody in this building
at one time or another has missed a turn. Has went somewhere and
went the wrong way and they got lost and had to figure out how
to get back where they started. I'd say everybody in this building
one time or another got lost somewhere. Read the map wrong, ended up
in the wrong city. Have you ever missed an exit
and drive 150 miles and say whoop? You know, when I first came down
here, I'd go off in the woods all the time, and still do quite
a bit, but when I first came down here, I'd go off in the
woods, ginseng digging, and I'd start off in these great big
hollers, and I'd go down this holler, and the holler'd go this
way, and then it'd go that way, and then it'd come back this
way, and I learned real quick, mark your way in, so you can
find your way out. Because if you get down this
holler, and it goes down this way, and then you go down one
this way, and you go down another one, and it goes back this way,
next thing you know, which holler they say, they all look just
exactly alike. One holler I start out in, oh
my, this looks just exactly the same. So you know what I did? I started breaking off things
on my way down through there, so I could fight, I didn't Find
my way back out. And then after a while I got
to where I go anywhere I want to and didn't need to mark my
way. Now let me tell you something. Jesus Christ is the way. Without
Him you're lost. And there ain't no marks that
can get you out. Only Christ can get you out.
Only Christ can give you life. He seeketh and saveth that which
is what? Lost. Lost. And I tell you, our Lord
Jesus Christ is the truth. He's the truth. Without Him,
there is no gospel. Without the Lord Jesus Christ,
no good news. Without Him, no sacrifice for
sin. Without Him, no sin offering. Without Him, no redemption. Without
Him, no acceptance with God. Without Him, nothing. No gospel. Nothing at all to say. Without
Christ, there is no gospel. And then He is the life. Our
Lord Jesus is the life. Excuse me. Without Him, we're
dead to God. Dead, in shifts. Dead to God. And our Lord said, I'm the way,
I'm the truth, I'm the life. And you know what He said at
the end of that verse? John 14, 6. No man. He says, I'm the way, I'm the
truth, and I'm the life. No man. No man. cometh unto the Father, but by
me. And he said no man can come to
the Father except he brings some goodness with him and with me. And then brings some prayers
with him and me. And brings some tears with him
and me. Brings some sincerity with him
and me. Brings some Bible reading with
him and me. No, no, he just says no man's
coming to the Father but by me. But by me. And that's true religion,
that's the gospel. And let me tell you something
else. Let me hurry on here, I don't... You know what true religion is?
And true worship. True religion and true worship.
It's a mystery. And we, sometimes we miss it,
and sometimes we get in the, you know... Sometimes we do it,
sometimes we don't. But I do know this, it's called
the simplicity that's in Christ. And you know what the simplicity
of that in Christ is? It means singularity. There's
only one Christ, one way, one life. And it's this singularity
that's in Christ. All the promises of God are in
Him. Yay! And they're Amen. So I will
speak plainly. And I want to talk as simple
as I can. Right now. I want to talk as
simple as I can. Some of you have been listening
to me a long, long time. And you've heard lots and lots
and lots and lots of preaching. And you've heard preachers after
preacher after preacher. But I want to talk to you just
as plain as I know how. Some of you here, I do not know
whether you'll ever be born again or not. I don't know whether
you'll ever be born again. But I know our Lord Jesus Christ
said, except a man be born again, he can't enter the kingdom of
God. I don't know. I just don't know
whether you'll ever be born again or not. But unless you have that
new birth, and one thing I know, you couldn't give yourself natural
life, you certainly can't give yourself spiritual life. You
had nothing to do with your first birth, and only God can give
you that birth from above. And if that life of God's ever
put in your soul, you'll know it. You'll know it. You'll know
it. You'll know it. But I do know this, except a
man be born again, he shall not see the end of the kingdom of
God. And I don't know, some of you here that's heard the gospel
song, I don't know whether you'll ever repent and turn toward God. I don't know if you'll ever repent. I don't know if you'll ever say,
Oh God, I'm sorry. Oh God, I regret. I'm so sorry. Oh, I see you now
and I want to turn from the way I am. I want my way of thinking. I want my way of looking. I want
my way of feeling. I want everything about me changed. I don't know if you'll ever repent
toward God or not. But I do know this, except you
repent. You'll likewise perish. You'll
perish. You'll perish. And you know how,
can you know whether you've ever repented or not? You just keep
on repenting. Repentance is a state of being,
just like faith is. Once you've got it, you cannot
not believe. And once you ever turn toward
God in repentance, you're constantly repenting. And you know what
repentance is? It's always turning from yourself,
turning to God. Always your mind is changed about
something you've said or done or acted, and it turns toward
God in great need. That's what repentance is. Oh
Lord, I've done this. Oh God, I'm sorry. I've changed
my mind. That's the wrong thing to do.
It's a sinful thing to do. And I turn to You. Oh Lord, I
need Thee. Oh how I need Thee. Oh how I
need Thee. That's what it is. And I don't know if God will
ever convert you or not. I don't know if you'll ever be
converted and become as a little child. Which our Lord said, except
you be converted and become as little children, you can't enter.
And except you be converted and become as little children, you
can't enter the Kingdom of God. We, Tippi's at the house the
other day and we saw a perfect illustration. of little children. Perfect illustration of the way
we should be. And I'll tell it to little Bentley. He's about
15 months old, our great grandson. She brought her grandsons down,
Jacob and Mason. Little old Bentley stood around
there bashful for a little while and then all of a sudden he walked
up and disappeared right up in Jacob's face. He had a little
car there and the first thing he went to the car and started
pecking on the car and honking the horn. He wanted to see that
this is mine. In a little while he walked in
another room and done like this here. They come in there and
he walked up and all of his toys, all over the living room floor,
he just stood there like this. He wanted to see everything.
And then little old Jacob got down and started playing with
something. Buffy went over and put his arms around him, put
his head down on his head, and just went to love him. That's the way children are. They just take people in. And
just reach in. They say, well, he's a stranger.
Well, listen, that's the way we need to be. God, just take
us in. Take people in. Remember, we're all just children.
We think we know a lot and we've grown a lot, but we're children.
You say, well, boy, when we get down on our knees and get down
there, and get down there like a little child ought to be with
another child, then, you know, we should get there by the head
and kiss on their head and hug them up, too. God make us His little children.
Little children. And I tell you what, I know this,
I don't know whether you'll ever see the Son of God and believe,
but I know God said this about Him in John 6 and 40. He said, Everyone that seeth
the Son and believes on Him hath everlasting life, and I'll raise
him up at the last day. I don't know whether you'll ever
see the Son of God or not, But God said, if you do and believe
on Him, you have everlasting life. Oh my, see the sign. I don't
know, I don't know when I'm talking to,
I don't know whether you'll ever love the Lord Jesus Christ or
not. And if you do, we'll never love Him while He's worthy to
be loved. I don't know whether you'll ever
love the Lord Jesus Christ or not. The first Corinthians 16
says this, If any man love not the Lord Jesus Christ, let him
be anathema, maranatha. You know what that means? Let
him be cursed at the coming of Christ. Let him be cursed. I remember one time years and
years and years and years ago. We had been down here just a
few months and we got us a couple of horses and I remember leaving
our place one time and riding a horse and I got way up on this
high hill. And I looked way off and seen
all these big clouds and things coming and it just dawned on
me. I said, the Lord may come in
them clouds. Sitting on that little horse
and I said, I seen that and it kind of looked purple out there and
looked odd looking and I said, this may be the day of the Lord's
coming. And I was sitting there and it
just, it shocked me. Put a little fear in my heart. One of these days that's exactly
the way it's going to happen. It's going to happen. You don't want
to be cursed at the coming of Christ, do you? And oh, these are things I don't
like to talk about, but we got to talk about. I don't know when
you'll die. I don't know when you'll die. But I know you will. I know you
will. I know you will. I prayed yesterday afternoon
for a dear, dear friend of mine. Lord, take him home. He's tired.
He wants to go. He wants to depart and leave
this world. Lord, take him home. His son
talked to me the other day. He said, so frail. I said, Lord, just take him home
if it would please you. Because he knows Christ. God
of good hope. God of blessed hope. Been here
a long, long time. Brother Henry said, Lord, take
him. He wants to go. He goes to bed every night. Lord,
let me wake up with you in the morning. Oh, I want to see you. I want to see you. I want to
go be with you. I don't know when you'll die,
but I know that you will. I will, you and all of us. And
I don't know when you'll stand before God. I don't know when you'll stand
before God, but I know that you will. I know that you will. And I don't know when you're
going to bow and confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. I don't
know when you're going to do that. But I do know that everybody's
going to do it. God said this about him, God
hath highly exalted him and given him a name that's above every
name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow. of things
in heaven, things on earth, and things under the earth. And every
tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of
God the Father. Everybody's going to do that.
And I've done it here. And you've done it here. But
everybody's going to do it. Everybody's going to do it. Everybody's
going to do it. True religion. Do you have it?
Do you have it, or is it a religious fact? Let's turn to number 42. Number 42. All hail the power of Jesus,
made that angels prostrate fall. Break forth the royal diadem
and crown Him glorious. Bring forth the royal diadem
and crown him Lord of all. Ye chosen seed of Israel's reign, Hail Him who saved you by His
grace and crowned Him Lord of all. Hail Him who saved you by His
grace and crowned Him Lord of all. This terrestrial boy, to him
all majesty ascribed, and crowned him the Lord. Lord of all, to Him all majesty
assign. Crown Him Lord of all. Oh, we're going to love this. Oh, that with yonder slain kingdom
we hang. We'll join the everlasting song
and crown Him Lord of all We'll join the everlasting song and
crown Him Lord of all See you tonight, God willing,
at 6 o'clock.
