You know, we sung that song,
Oh How Merciful, the 136th Psalm. It talks about every way, every
version. It has the mercy, His mercy endureth
forever. And it names all the people and
all the circumstances. And His mercy endureth forever. And His mercy endureth forever.
And it does. It really, truly does. I'm going
to read the first 11 verses. When Jesus had spoken these words,
he went forth with his disciples over the brook Siblon, where
was a garden into which he entered and his disciples. And Judas
also, which betrayed him, knew the place, for Jesus oft times
resorted there with his disciples. Judas then, having received a
band of men and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees,
cometh there with lanterns and torches and weapons. Jesus therefore,
knowing all things that should come upon him, went forth, and
said unto them, Whom seek ye? They answered him, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus saith unto them, I am.
And Judas also, which betrayed him, stood with them, and as
soon then as he had said unto them, I am, they went backward
and fell to the ground. Then asked he them again, Whom
seek ye? And they said, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus answered, I have told you
that I am. If therefore you seek me, let
these go their way. That the saying might be fulfilled,
which he spake of them which thou gavest me, I have outlawed
none. Then Simon Peter, having a sword,
drew it, and smote the high priest's servant, and cut off his right
ear. The servant's name was Malchus. Then said Jesus unto Peter, put
up thy sword into the cup which my father hath given me, shall
I not drink it? Shall I not drink it? Our Lord
Jesus Christ, in whatever situation, whatever circumstance he was
in, all he was doing was just giving us a further revelation
of his character, of his personality. Whatever situation he's in, you
see more and more of his personality, his character, and all of his
blessed person. And whenever he was, in whatever
situation he was in, his unique personality, you couldn't hide
it. It was always manifest. If he saw a multitude that was
hungry, you know what he did for them? Fed them. Fed them. when he heard the cries
of beggars crying out for that I might receive my sight he had
mercy on them and gave them a sight and he'd look on the fields and
he used them as illustrations to reveal the truths of God and
the needs of man he'd look on the fields and say the white
ready to harvest pray ye that my father would send forth laborers
into the harvest filled full of lilies and said all see those
lilies and all their glory see all those lilies and all their
beauty he said today they exist tomorrow they'll be cut down
and cast into the oven and so as ever was that believeth not
on the Son of Man and as we read the scriptures and that's where
we really hear his voice in the scriptures and as we read the
scriptures and hear his voice You really, really begin to see
what a wonderful, wonderful Savior is Jesus our Lord. What a wonderful
Savior He is. And I tell you, if we study Him
and look at Him and learn more about Him, we see more of His
person set forth before our eyes. Makes us love Him more, admire
Him more, worship Him more, love Him more, bow to Him more, and
see more of our need of Him. And here in these verses that
I read this evening, we see just smidgens, just small parts of
His glory while He's here in the Garden of Gethsemane. And
here He is, our Lord Jesus Christ, in His earthly weakness in this
Garden of Gethsemane. But even in His earthly weakness,
there is such strength such glory and such power to be seen in
our Lord Jesus Christ. Let's just look at a few of the
things about our Savior in these few verses that I've read tonight. First of all, look at it here.
Verse 2, And Judas also, which betrayed him, knew the place,
for Jesus oftentimes resorted there with his disciples. See,
our Lord Jesus went over the brook Cedron with his disciples.
And you go to the Old Testament, David went over the brook Cedron.
So many people went over the brook. In the Old Testament it's
called Cedron. Here it's Cedron. Same little
creek, same brook. And then over where they crossed
that creek there was a garden. And often times our Lord went
there with his disciples. And because Jesus of Judas had
been there so many times, he knew the place, the one that
betrayed him, because he oftentimes resorted there with his disciples.
And the first thing we see about our Savior, our Lord, was a man
of prayer. He not only was a person who
prayed and prayed oftentimes, but he oftentimes went there
with his disciples. Our Lord prayed, and not only
did he possess the spirit of prayer, but he had a place to
pray. He had a place that he went to
pray. A particular place that he often times went. And this
is where he went that night in the beginning, and you'll see
it later. He went there, and he went there, and he went there
to pray, and told his disciples, and said to him, watch for me
just a little while. I'm going to go over yonder and
pray. You watch for me, and you watch with me. I'm going to go
over yonder and pray. And this is where he's at, he's over there
in the garden. And in fact, all of John 17 was our Lord's prayer. And that's what he says there
in verse 1, he says, when Jesus has spoken these words, when
he finished his prayer, when he finished his prayer, the Lord's
prayer, the prayer for all of his disciples, the prayer for
us, the prayer for all those who would believe. The prayer
for our sanctification, the prayer for us to be kept, the prayer
for us to believe. After he spake these things,
then he got up and went across the brook and took his disciples
to go pray some more. And here he come to the garden
for his own personal prayer and to pour out his heart to his
Father. And look what it says there,
Judas also which betrayed him knew the place. Now this is a
warning for us. What a warning this is for us.
Judas had been there with him before. Judas knew exactly where
he'd be and when he would be there. And you know, he had been
a companion of our Lord Jesus Christ for three years. He had
seen our Lord's miracles. He had heard His sermons. Enjoyed
His presence and His private instruction. Professed himself
to be a believer. And he was the treasure of the
group. He had worked and preached in
Christ's name. And then Judas, which betrayed,
he knew that the Lord often died. And I tell you, beloved, God
helped us to never be a Judas. Never be a Judas. I tell you,
there's a lot of Judases in this world. A lot of people have turned
on their master. A lot of people have denied Christ. A demon has forsaken us, having
loved this present evil world. And our beloved Judas here, he
knowed where he was. And that's why the scripture
said, Lord, what is man? What is man? That's why Peter
Paul said, Wherefore if any man thinketh he standeth, take heed,
lest he fall. All it takes to sink a ship is
just a little bitty hole. Look down here in verse 3. You
know Judas, Having received a band of men, he took them with him,
and did not look down in verse 5, and it said in the last part
of the verse, And Judas also betrayed him, stood with them,
stood with the Lord's enemies, stood with them who were coming
to arrest him, stood with them who were coming to mistreat him,
stood with them. Oh my, would we ever stand? Peter may deny him. But he never
stood with the Lord's enemy and stood against Christ like Judas
did. And I tell you, beloved, that's
a solemn warning. All the things that we can profess
and all the things that we can own up to and all the things
that we can do. We as a little old chorus, we used to sing,
don't let me be a Judas, don't let me be a Judas. And then look
what else, not only was our Lord, if we go with Him here in this
garden, go with Him to this garden, Look at our Lord's knowledge
of the future. Look in verse 4. Jesus therefore knowing all
things that should come upon him. His knowledge of the future. Jesus knowing all things that
should come upon him. He went forth. Went forth. Look over here in
John 18, 19, 28. 19, 28. You know, our Lord Jesus had
perfect knowledge of everything that was going to happen. Absolute perfect knowledge. And
look what is said here in verse 28. After this, Jesus, knowing
that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled
over here Jesus knowing all things that would come upon him there
he says now that everything that he knew was coming upon him and
he goes over there and says now knowing that all things are accomplished
that's going to come upon me so he goes knowing everything
that's going to happen to him and our Lord went forth to see
that all things would be fulfilled concerning him This is no act
of a weakling, no act of a fearful man, no act of a person who has
no power. And it said, he went forth knowing
all things that should come upon him, and he went forth. The hour
has come. The hour has come. Our Lord's
not hiding. He's not hiding from his enemies. He knew Judas. He told Judas,
he said, you're going to betray me. He that dips his hand with me
in the swamp is going to betray me." And then he looked at Judas,
what you going to do? Do it quickly. He knew Judas
was on his way. He went across that brook, went
under that garden, knowing that Judas had already sold him for
thirty pieces of silver. Knowing that Judas was on his
way with a group of men after him. The hours come, and he's
not hiding from his enemies. And look over here in John 13.3,
let me show you this about what our Lord knew. Oh, John 13.3,
look where it said, Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all
things into His hands. See there it says, John 13.3,
Jesus knowing, we're talking about Christ knowing, knowing
that the Father had given all things into His hands. So whenever
thou find thy Lord Jesus, three times knowing all things. And
Father had given all things into his hands. Then he went forth
to see that all things should be accomplished. And now he's
going forth knowing everything that's going to happen to him.
And all things is in his hands and now he's going to turn, he's
going to empty himself. Now he's going to vest himself.
He's going to empty himself of his rights and his power and
his glory. And he went forth, and it says
here, knowing all things that shall come upon him, he went
forth. What did he go forth to? He went forth to be cut off from
the land of the living. He went forth to the agony of
being betrayed. He went forth to the shame of
becoming a prisoner and being treated as a common criminal.
He went forth to the humiliation to be left into the hands of
sinful men to do to Him whatever they will to do to Him. And He
went forth knowing all things that was coming upon Him. Knowing
where He was going. Knowing what was going to be
done. And He went forth knowing every bit of it. Bless His holy
name. And then it says Jesus knowing
that all things should come upon Him. Our Lord Jesus Christ's knowledge
was perfect. Perfect. There was no surprises. Our Lord was not surprised by
anything that anyone did. He knew his sufferings and he
went forth to endure. He went forth to save them. When
it says he knew all things, he knew everything that God had
decreed. We talk about decrees. There's
only one decree. God decreed the end from the
beginning. He decreed every minute detail
that ever happened in this world. And He went forth knowing all
that God decreed. Every decree of God, every word
that would be said, every sigh that would be sighed, every tear
that would be shed, everything He would say in the garden, He
knew it all. And he went forth knowing that
all things, all things that were agreed upon by the Son in the
eternal covenant of grace. He said, Father, if it's going
to take me being treated as a common criminal being spat upon, being
cursed, being ridiculed, being tried, being falsely accused,
and then being beaten within an inch of my life. Me, having
mowed the cross out as far as I can carry. And then being stripped
naked and nailed to a tree. If that's what it's going to
take, knowing this is going to happen, I'm going to go do it. I'm going forth to do it. And
I tell you what, he went forth knowing all things predicted
of him in the Old Testament Scriptures. You read it tonight, James. His
time, he went forth knowing it was time for his heel to be put
on the serpent's head and for him to crush it. Time for his
heel to be bruised. Time for him to be led as a lamb
to the slaughter. Time for him to be wounded for
our transgressions. Time for him to be bruised for
our iniquities. Time for him, beloved, to render
satisfaction unto God, who said, I will please the Lord to bruise
him, and he shall see his soul and be satisfied. And, oh, Jesus, knowing all things
that should come upon him, he went forth. Bless his name. Oh,
bless his name. We don't know all things. We
don't know all things. In fact, we know so little. And
I'm grateful we don't know all things. I'm grateful we don't
know what tomorrow is going to bring forth. I'm grateful we
don't know what the rest of the night holds. But thank God we
do know Him that knows all things. He knows all things. And not
only that, He knows us. And He takes such minute care
of us and interest in us that He counts the hairs on our head.
orders our steps, and lets us lay on His bosom.
And He tells us, O come to Me, that we may obtain mercy and
find grace in the time of need. And here He went forth. We don't
know all things, but thank God we know Him who does. And you
and I, we may do things that surprise us, and I may do something
that will surprise you one of these days. You'll say, did Donnie
really do that? Did he really act that way? I
may do something to surprise you, and you may surprise me,
and we may surprise one another. And we may do things to surprise
us, but one blessed thing will never happen. We'll never do
anything to surprise our master. He done took care of everything
that we had ever say, do, think, or act before you and I was ever
born. Whatever I do tomorrow, it's
done been took care of on the cross of Calvary. Does that mean
I'm going to get up and live like hell tomorrow? No! Does
that mean I'm going to get up and sin willfully against Jesus?
No! Does that mean I'm going to get up and say, well, I ain't
going to make no difference, I'm saved by grace? No! I'm going to say, Lord Jesus,
bless your name for letting me have another day. Bless your
name for letting me enjoy rain, sunshine, and letting me enjoy
a wife, and letting me enjoy the saints of God. Let me believe
your gospel. Let me sit on the porch. Let
me enjoy a cup of coffee. Thank you, Lord Jesus. Blessed
be your name. The simplest thing is something
to give thanks for. And the older you get, the more
you do thank God for the simplest thing. Oh, next time you do something
to surprise yourself, just say, Lord Jesus, I'm sorry, and I'm
sure thankful that you knew. He told Simon Peter, he said,
Simon Peter, you're going to be surprised, but I'm going to
tell you what to do before you do it. Did he do that? Oh my, what a, I told you what
a wonderful Savior is Jesus our Lord. And then look what he said
about himself. Oh, Judas, it says in verse 3,
Judas then having received a band of men and officers from the
chief priests and Pharisees cometh there with lanterns and torches.
And look what it says, weapons, weapons. And oh my, and our Lord went
forth and he said unto him in verse 4, he said, who are you
looking for? Who are you looking for? Whom
are you seeking? They answered him and said, Jesus of Nazareth.
Jesus of Nazareth. You know why they came to say
Jesus of Nazareth? That's his name in humiliation.
You remember how Bartimaeus called him this morning, Son of David?
They said, Jesus of Nazareth is coming by. That's what they
said about him. You know what Bartimaeus said? Now, Son of David? And our Lord said unto him, Whom
are you looking for? And they said, Jesus of Nazareth.
You know what he said? He said, I am. That's all he
said. That he is in italics. I am. They came to take him. And he
walked right up into the presence. In one place it says there's
about 500 men. And our Lord Jesus Christ walks
right up to him. A mob that come to take him.
And he walks right up to him and said, who are you looking
for? Jesus and Asa. I am. Look what happens now. As soon then as he said in verse
6, as soon as he said that unto them I am, they went backward
and fell to the ground. You know why they done that?
The first in the front, they started backing up. Nobody would
be, you know, we come to get this fella and he just said,
I am. And they started backing up and the whole bunch started
falling. Stumbling over one another. Falling down all over one another.
And all our Lord Jesus Christ said about himself, I am. I am. And ain't that what it says?
They went backward and fell to the ground. They came to arrest
him and ended up retreating from him. Backing away from him. You know why? Because he just
said two words, I am. This is the same I am. That told
Moses in and out of the burning bush. Who am I going to tell
and send me? I am that I am. You go down there
and tell them I am that I am. And our Lord Jesus Christ called
him I Am seven times in seven ways and here he said twice,
I Am. You come to get me? I Am. And they fell back instead of
falling down and worshiping the great I Am. And oh, are you talking
about a display of his majesty? A quiet exhibition of his divine
power. He just walked up. They said,
who are you looking for? Jesus and Nazareth. I am! And I'll tell you what, now when
I know that it's I am, I don't go backwards, I go forwards.
In fact, that's what God told Moses. He says, Moses, before
you get any closer, take your shoes off. You're approaching
holy ground. Oh, it's a place to worship.
And oh, beloved, this was a demonstration of our Lord Jesus Christ as the
Word by whom He created all things. He just spoke the Word. He didn't
need to raise a hand against Him. All He'd done was spoke
two one-syllable words, I am. I am. And those men fell away
backwards. And why did our Lord act like
this at this time? I'm going to give you several
reasons why he did this. Because they could clearly see,
and everybody could clearly see, that he was more than just Jesus
the natural. More than just a man. He was
God in the flesh, with all the power of the Godhead, with all
the power of the word manifested in the flesh, with the power,
we can sing his word in Hilton. And he just spoke these words,
and these men fell backwards. And you'll understand, you're
coming after Jesus and that's it, but you know who you're really
getting? You're getting the God-man. You're getting God manifested
in the flesh. You're fixing to take up the
Son of God. That's what he's saying. And
another reason was that all could clearly see that he voluntarily,
they came to take him, but he voluntarily delivered himself
into their hands. I'll tell you, you remember several
times in over in Luke 4, they came to take our Lord after he
preached to them elections and you know there was many winners
in Elisha's time. God only sent Elisha to one.
There were many lepers in Syria in Nehemiah's time, but he only
went to one. And they understood him about
election and that God was going to pass him by. And one day they
appraised him and then they were going to take him and throw him
off a hill. And the scripture said he just disappeared from them. Now why couldn't he just disappear
from these people? All of them was on the ground.
Why didn't he just slip away? He didn't come to slip away.
He came to face sin head on. Came to face God's justice head
on. Came to face God's wrath head
on. Came to face the consequences
of sin which is death head on. And all beloved, they'd have
to see that he voluntarily delivered himself. They didn't apprehend
him. He submitted himself to them.
He wasn't captured, he gave himself up. Look over in John 7 with
me. That's what our Lord Jesus said.
He said, no man takes my life from me. I've got the power to
lay it down, I've got the power to take it up again. Look in
John 7, verse 32. They wanted to take him before.
I don't know how many times they wanted to take him. And they didn't. They couldn't.
Look what it said in John 7.32. This is the Pharisees now. The
Pharisees heard that the people murmured such things concerning
him. And the Pharisees and the chief
priests sent officers to take him. Now look down in verse 44,
this is the results of them going. They sat and listened to our
Lord preach for a while. And some of them would have taken
him, but no man laid hands on him. Then came the officers to the
chief priests and Pharisees, and they said unto them, Why
have you not brought him? We sent you to arrest him, sent
you to take him. You know why they didn't take
him this time? Never a man spoke like this man. And you know what? Nobody spoke like he did when
that old 500 came out there and just said, I am. That's all he
said, I am. And he put him on the back. I
am. Nobody ever spoke like that before.
Oh, my. And I tell you, he has power
over his enemies. He has power over his enemies.
He can fell a man with a word. He can fell a man with a look.
He could have sent them to hell as easily as they fell on the
ground. That's what happened to Cora and Nathan. Cora and Dawson. They were standing
there arguing with Moses. And they said, you know Moses
said, who's on the Lord's side? Get over here because God's finished
the clean house. And old Cora and that bunch stood
over there and they were princes of Israel. About that time the earth opened
up, they went to hell alive. Mothers, sons, daughters, the
whole shootin' match. And don't you think our Lord
could have done the same thing to this bunch right here? He
could have sent them to hell. They were completely at His mercy.
Helpless on the ground. He wasn't at their mercy. Helpless
on the ground. That's what they were. He could
have walked away, but He didn't come to walk away. And then look
what happens. It goes on down here. Oh, in verse 7, Whom seek ye? And
they said, Jesus. And as it was, I am. Now look
what he says, he shows us how much he loves his own people,
how much he cares for his elect, how much he cares for his blessed
saints. Jesus answered, I told you that I am, if therefore you
seek me, let these go their way. You can't have us both. If you
seek me, If you seek me, let these go
away. John 13 said, Having loved his own, which were in the world,
he loved them unto thee. Having loved his own, how did
we become his own? We were given to him by the Father
in a covenant of grace. God our Lord Jesus Christ took
all of our obligations, took all of our debts, became our
surety and a covenant of grace and said everything that's against
them led to my account and then we were his by gift father they
were thine you gave them to me and we're his by price he bought us with his own precious
blood we're his by power in the day of his power he made us women
He, blessed is the man whom He chooses and causes to approach
unto. He stood still and commanded
him to be called. And then were His own willingly.
I'm willingly one of Christ's people, ain't you? I'm willingly
one of His. I'm just absolutely thrilled,
absolutely joyful and thankful and willingly, gladly tell anybody
that I am one of Jesus Christ. I'm one who He died for, I'm
one who was chosen, I'm one He paid for, I'm one that was kept
everything, all of my, I said everything that I am is His. Because He gave everything He
was to give me. And our Lord Jesus Christ's thoughts
at this time were not of Himself. Not of Himself. He wasn't worried
about himself here. He said, therefore do you see
me? Three times he said, I am, I am, I am. And he said, if you
want me then, you got to let these fellas go. You can't have
us both. You know, here he's not thinking
of himself. He's not thinking about his own
sufferings here. But he is thinking and concerned
about that they don't suffer. What it is, it's the shepherd
protecting the sheep. The wolves were there, and the
Lord Jesus Christ ain't gonna let the wolves have any of His
sheep. And one of the things that they would remember later
in their lives was that that very night that they came to
take the Lord Jesus Christ, their Master, that they made Him a
prisoner out of. It was for them that He was made
a prisoner. It was for Him. He was more concerned
for them than He was of Himself. Did remember that the last thing
I heard the Savior say before they come and got them is, let
them go. Let them go. Don't you lay a
hand on any one of them. Don't you hurt a hair on their
head. They're the apple of my eye. Do you reckon our Lord here
acts like a captive? Somebody fixing... No, no. He
commands them. He said, let these... He didn't
ask them, will you let these go their way? Please let these
go their way. He said, let these go their way. Oh, take me, but don't you touch
mine anointed. And let these go their way. You
have me. It's not just for them to suffer
if I suffer in their stead. It's not just for me to be taken
captive and them being taken captive with me. They can't suffer
with me. For he alone is the price of our redemption. The
high priest must go into the holiest of holies by himself. And look what our Lord Jesus
said there in verse 9. And, O ye see the power he has
to preserve us, that the saying might be fulfilled, which he
spake, Of them which thou gavest me I have lost none. Everyone you gave to him. Noah
was given to him. Did he lose him? Abraham was given to him. Did
he lose him? Jacob was given to him. Did he lose him? Raab
was given to him. Did he lose him? Ruth was given
to him. Who did he ever lose that was
given to him? And all listen. Our Lord Jesus
Christ. No, no, he's not going to lose
one of his own. It's just how awful it is to
think. It just boggles your mind now
that somebody would think that Christ would bear their sin,
Christ would suffer in their place, Christ would lay down his life for the sheep,
and then one of those sheep end up perishing later. And that
it depended upon them. And then look at the last thing
I want to say about him here. Oh, see our Lord, just bits and
pieces of his character through him. It makes us see just what
a wonderful Savior our Savior is. And then look what he said
here. Simon Peter drew a sword and
smoked the high priest servant of ours and then another place
that our Lord healed his servant told Peter said if you live by
the sword you will die by the sword. We are not in this business
of fighting with weapons. The weapons of our warfare are
not carnal. And our Lord said put up the sword in verse 11
into his youth. And then look what he said the
cup which my father hath given me shall I not drink it. You see, his submission to the
will of the Father, he submits himself to man and to God at
the same time. And look what power, look what
glory, and our Lord perfectly, perfectly submitting to men and
God at the same time. What glory there is. He's the
sovereign, and yet he's the servant. We
see here the lion and we also see the lamb. And what did our
Lord Jesus said here? He said, The cup which my Father
hath given me, shall I not drink it? The cup which my Father hath
given me, shall I not drink it? He doesn't say a necessity is
laid upon me to drink this cup. That's not what He said. He doesn't
say my Father has commanded me to drink it. But what he says,
shall I not drink it? Do you think for a moment it
ever entered my mind that I would not take the cup that my father
had for me? Do you think that I would hesitate
for a split second not to take the cup? It shows us that his
heart, his spirit, didn't know how to do anything other other
than do what his father sent him to do. He couldn't help but
do it. This is the highest willingness
that can be. My father gave me a cup, and
do you think for a moment that I wouldn't drink it? And he took that cup, and you
read where, in Isaiah 63 and you read over in Revelations
where he took the cup, And he drank it and he took even, he
got down to where there's drugs, dregs in it, just old dregs in
it. You know, you get things and
you have juices and things and you have the dregs left in it
and you'll throw them away. You have a cup of coffee and
the ground's getting out of the bottom of it and you get the
ground and you go spitting and all that. But our Lord said,
My Father gave me a cup. And he rushed and got it with
both hands. And he put it to his lips. And it was full of
the fury of the wrath of God. It was full of the fury of God's
justice. And he turned that thing up and
he drank and he drank and he drank and he drank and he drank.
And there were some drugs in it. Some old dregs in it. And he took them dregs and he
took the dregs out of it. And I'll tell you who some of
the drinks was. Me, I was a drink. My rotten sins, my corrupt nature,
my rotten heart, my wicked mind, all that I am. I was a drink
in the bottom of that cup. Just a drink in the bottom of
that cup. And our Lord took it and drank
it. And I drank that drink. And oh, what a lesson for us
to learn here, what a lesson for us to learn. He says, my father, ain't that
what he says? The cup which my father hath
given me. He said, he'd give it to me.
My father giveth me this cup, shall I not drink it? And when
God our Father, and this he said, my father, you didn't say, you
know, that's what he says, my father, doesn't he? This is my
father. It's not my enemy. Not somebody
against me. It's not somebody trying to hurt
me. He said it's my father. He had a cup in his hand and
he handed it to me. And you're talking about making
our little old cup that he gives us. He gives us a cup to drink
every once in a while. He gives us a cup. And you're
talking about making our cups just a little sweeter and a little
easier to drink if we said my father gave me that cup. I like a real, real small cup
to put coffee in because I like it really hot. And Brother Henry
had some little old cups like this, Demitasse's they call them.
Our Lord took a great big cup. God gives us little old thimblefuls.
And if he just gives us that little cup, and we say, my father
gave it to me. My father gave me that. We'd
take it and drink it and say, oh, bless his name. Bless his name. Huh? Oh. Didn't I tell you we had a wonderful
Savior? Beautiful Savior. Glorious Savior.
Precious Savior. Let's stand and sing that song.
What is it? 256, I think? Or 258? 256 or
258? 258. Let's stand together. We'll
sing it. two or three verses of this.
He hadeth my soul. A wonderful Savior is Jesus my
Lord. A wonderful Savior is Jesus my
Lord. He hideth my soul in the cleft
of the rock Where rivers of pleasure rise There are black shadows on the
road his love and covers me there
with his love and covers me there with his love. Number three. With the take home an acre and build with
it. I sing in my rapture. All the glories of God. For such a Redeemer. He hides my soul in the cleft
of the rock That shadows a dry, thirsty land He hides my life
in the depths of His love And covers made there. This was gonna happen real soon. When clothed in His righteousness, Oh, bless his holy name. Thirsty lad, he had a fire in
the depths of his heart. You see me? Let these go their way. Travis
is with his hand. Good night, God bless you. See
you Wednesday, Lord willing. God.
