The title of my message this
evening is Eight Marks of the Righteous. Eight Marks of the
Righteous. Going to see what God has to
say about the righteous. We contrasted last week between
the righteous and the wicked. And there is a great difference
between them. Great difference between them. A great gulf fixed
that only God can span. But there's eight marks of the
righteous here in this particular chapter and we'll look at them
together. But man has no inherent righteousness. God himself said,
there's none righteous, no, not one. That's what he said. There's four nones in Romans
3. Four nones. None righteous, none
that understandeth, none that seeketh. And you go, and God says there's
none righteous. So man's not born with an inherent
righteousness. And no man can claim a righteousness
of his own. He can't do it. Not if he has
any sins at all. But God has a people. God has
a people that He has declared righteous and made righteous
in Christ. He made Christ unto us the righteousness
of God. He took Christ and made Him to
be sin. Who knew no sin. And took us
who knew nothing but sin. and made us to be the righteousness
of God in Christ. And Romans Jeremiah 23.9 says
this, he says, Christ Jehovah's akin you, the Lord our righteousness. And so the only righteousness
we have is the righteousness that God gave us, God declared
us to be. And we found that gospel and
we learned of that righteousness and understand that righteousness
through the gospel. And that's why you know the scriptures
talk so much about God making us righteous. And He made us
a partaker of His divine nature. And so we have a love for righteousness. We have a love for what's right
and what's true. But because that doesn't make
us righteous in ourselves, the only
righteousness that God accepts is the righteousness He gave
us in Christ. That's the only righteousness
God will ever accept. And if there's any righteous
act that we do, it's God that works us in us. It's both God
who works in you to will and to do of His good pleasure. And
if there's anything that's done right, it's God in us that does
it. That's why Paul said, I labored
more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God
that was in me. By grace I am what I am. By grace I did what I did. So
when I tell you what a righteous man, I know this, he is one who
has no iniquities. Blessed is the man unto whom
the Lord imputes not iniquity, whose sins are forgiven. And
I know a righteous man, he don't have any more sin. God put them
away too. But look over here in verse 16,
look here in Psalm 37, 16. Here's the first thing about
a righteous man, the mark of a righteous man. A little that
a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked. Take all the riches of the wicked
put together, and a righteous man hath just a little bit. And
God says it's better than all the riches of all the wicked
put together. And that's exactly right. You
remember the story. Y'all remember in the scriptures
when Elijah come to this woman's house, and he was hungry, and
a famine was in the land, and she just had a son, her husband
had already died, just her and her son. And Elijah said to her,
said, Bread, you got any meal to make
us some bread?" He said, I've got just a little handful of
meal in the barrel and a little oil in my crews and said, I was
going to make that for me and my son and then we was going
to die. He said, first make me one. He said, you forget you
and your son, you reach in that wheelbarrow and you make me a
cake. And you make me, you use your oil to make me a cake, make
me some bread. And she said, just do that. And she did, and that little
that she had, every time she went to that mirabelle from that
day forward, every time she got out a handful made for her and
her son, she went back and had another handful, and had another
handful, and had another handful. That's what it means, the righteous,
their middle is better than the riches of men quick. God can
take that little bit, and bless it and use it to His glory. There
was a boy one time, there was about four or five thousand people
there, and he said, anybody got any bread and fish here? And
he said, a little boy walked up and said, I got two fish and
five little old loaves of bread here. He said, give them to me.
The Lord blessed him, fed over five thousand people, and he
took up twelve baskets. That little old boy had just
a little bit. That's the way the Lord does. He don't need
a whole lot. In fact, the less you have, the
more you get. The better He blesses you. And
that's the way He works, every time. And all bless His name.
He gives us, look with me over in Proverbs 10, just a minute.
He just blesses us so, and we're so thankful. And men, look in
Proverbs 10, 22. Look what it says here about
how the Lord blesses the name. His little is blessed. You know, I tell you what, that's
the truth. You know, you look at what some
people have, and how they labor to get it, and all they go through
to get it, and just lay it up, and lay it up, and lay it up,
and then God takes somebody that just has so little, and He just
makes it go on, and on, and on, and on. But look what He said
here in Proverbs 10, 22. The blessing of the Lord, it
maketh rich. And he addeth no sorrow with
it. He blesses you and he don't have
no sorrow with it. He don't have no heartache with
it. He don't have no worry with it. And what am I going to do
about it? When he blesses you, there's
no sorrow with it. Let me show you something else
about the righteous. Down in verse 17. It says, the
arms of the wicked shall be broken. Here's the second mark of the
righteous. But the Lord upholdeth the righteous. Psalm 37, 17. The Lord upholdeth
the righteous. He upholds the righteous man.
And why does he uphold the righteous man? Because he can't hold himself
up. He can't do it. You know, we're
like this. This is the way it has to be. That book right there, as long
as I hold it, it won't fall on the floor. And as long as I hold that up,
it's good, it's safe. But if I let that thing go, I
gotta hold it up. Gravity will draw that down.
And that's the way you and I are. If God let us go, and by our
nature and our gravity and the sin that's in us, we'd be like
this book. If the Lord didn't hold us up,
ain't that right? He has to hold us up because
we can't hold ourselves up. This idea of pulling yourself
up by your bootstraps, it can't be done. And that's what He does. He upholds us because we can't
uphold ourselves. Look over here in Isaiah 41 with
me just a minute. Isaiah 41. And I'm thankful. I'm thankful
He upholds us. You know when Simon Peter was
out on the water walking, you know what held him up? The Lord
did. You know who saved him when he
fell? The Lord did. The Lord had to get a hold of
him and pull him back in the ship. And when Satan started
to sift him as wheat, who held him up? The Lord did. He said,
I prayed for you that your faith fell not. He held him up. He
kept him and preserved him. And look what he said here in
Isaiah 41 in verse 10. Fear thou not, for I am with
thee. Be not dismayed, for I am thy
God. I will strengthen thee, yea,
I will help thee, yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand
of my righteousness. How are you standing? The Lord
told you. And this is what's so wonderful
about it. His hand is so big. And His arm is so strong. And
His will is so paramount. that he can hold up all his people
at one time on the whole face of this earth. There's some sleeping
right now on the other side of the world, and we're up here,
and he's holding us up, and when they'll get tomorrow, they'll
all be up, but he holds all his people up at one time. Oh, that's
why David said, my feet had almost slipped, but thy mercy held me
up. Oh, ain't you thankful that He
holds you up? That's why our Lord Jesus Christ
said, without me, without me, you can't do nothing. You know
what nothing is? Whenever you find nothing, show
it to me. Nothing. Nothing. Without me, you can
do nothing. Well, I can do certain things.
No. Without Him, you can't do nothing. Now the world can, but
we can't. We can't. Then let me show you
something else about the righteous. One another mark of the righteous.
Third mark. Down here in verse 18. It says, The Lord knoweth
the days of the upright. Now what does that mean? He knows
every day that we've got. He's got our days appointed for
us. And he knows every day that we have, and listen to this,
and not only does he know every day that they have, and their
inheritance shall be forever. When they get to the end of their
days, guess what? Their inheritance, because the
righteous has an everlasting inheritance. And he knows every
day, when you get to your days, that he says, then you're going
to go into your inheritance. And it's going to be forever
and ever and ever. Peter says this, you know, when
God hath begotten us again unto a living hope, To an inheritance
that's incorruptible, undefiled, that fadeth not away, reserved
in heaven for you. Now I want to show you something,
I saw this the other day, over in Colossians chapter 1. I saw
this the other day, talking about an inheritance. Now if we're
going to have an inheritance from God, we have to be made
fit for that inheritance. You don't leave your inheritance
to just anybody. You only leave your inheritance
to people that you will to live into. That will care for it and
appreciate it and enjoy it and delight in it and will rejoice
in it. Now look what he said here in
Colossians 1.12. Giving thanks unto the Father
which hath made us meet. That word meet means to be fit. or means to be able, giving thanks
unto the Father which hath made us fit and able to be partakers
of the inheritance of the saints in light. Now why did we have
to be made fit? Why did we have to be made able?
Because, beloved, we had no right to the inheritance. We have to
be made sons of God. We have to be made heirs of God.
We have to have the nature of God. We have to have a right
to that inheritance. And nobody has the right to that
inheritance except those that God's made fit and made able
to partake of that inheritance. The saint's already up yonder
enjoying it. He said he makes us fit to enjoy
that. And you remember when Abraham
told his servant Elimelech, he said, you go down and you find
a bride for my son. And he said, boy, when he first
met Rebekah and he went into the house, you know what he told
him? He says, my master has one son. One son is all he's got. And he has given all things into
his hand. Now, the only way in the world
anybody else is going to get that inheritance is by being
joined to Isaac. And so Rebecca, the only way
she's going to get what Isis got is to be married to him.
And the only way we got what Christ has got is being joined
in union to Him, being come one with Him. And God made us fit
in Christ to have an inheritance, and that inheritance will last
forever. What's some of the things we're
going to inherit? Life. Life. We're living souls and
dying bodies. And not only are we going to
have life, but we're going to inherit a new heaven. A brand new heaven. We're going to inherit a new
earth. A new one. Not only that, beloved,
we're going to have a new name. And not only are we going to
inherit incorruption, but now we're corrupt. We're going to
inherit incorruption. Right now we're immortal. We're
going to inherit immortality. All the things we're going to
inherit. And we're going to inherit an eternal presence and enjoyment
of the Lord Jesus Christ forever. Ever. And so we have an inheritance,
an everlasting inheritance. That's the third mark of a righteous
man. Here's the fourth mark of a righteous
man. Look down at verse 21. The wicked borroweth and payeth
not again, but the righteous showeth mercy and giveth. A righteous man, those that God's
made righteous, they're merciful and they're gracious. That word
gives, the same word is grace. Our Lord Jesus says, more blessed
to give than receive. And we've got the nature and
we've got the spirit of our master in us. And he has showed us mercy,
so we show mercy. We delight in mercy. We rejoice
in showing mercy. We love to show mercy. You know,
you see somebody, you see something going on with somebody and you
say, oh Lord, have mercy on them. Because you ask mercy because
you've been shown mercy. And oh Lord, please be merciful
to them and gracious to them. And I tell you, we're not only
merciful, but we give. Grace has shown us and so we
show grace to others. And I'll tell you, if a man hasn't
got grace and doesn't know how to show grace to somebody else,
it's because he ain't got grace. Grace is a wonderful, wonderful
thing. It's a blessed thing. And grace
is an active principle in our lives. Grace is not something
we just come and flip on a light switch and it comes on when you
flip on the light switch like electricity and then you turn
it back off. Grace is working principle in
our lives. It governs our lives. It saved
us and it keeps us and it preserves us. And it's a ruling principle
in our lives. I don't understand people that
don't show grace and mercy and kindness intended. I don't understand
that. It's against our master. It's
against our nature. It's against the nature of our
Lord Jesus Christ. If we freely received, did He
not freely show us mercy and grace? And we freely give mercy
and grace. Acts of mercy, oh my. I could go on and on about the
acts of mercy and grace that people have shown us times. Time
and time again, cards, kindness, food. I remember one time a dear
preacher, this is back, you know, when we had, oh boy, I tell you,
and everybody goes through this when they first married in the
first few years. Money's tight, scarce, and when you got it,
you got to really take care of it, you know. And a preacher
sent us $25 cash money in my envelope one day. Well I had an aggravated sorry
dog got a hold of that mail. He laid it on the steps. And
the dog got a hold of that thing and I mean he had money scattered
everywhere. Chewed up. Had to put it all back together.
Had to put it all back together. But I said that to say how merciful
and gracious he was. He said, 25 dollars ain't much.
Well, back in those days it was if you didn't have 25 dollars.
But it was a blessing. That's what I'm saying. He was
gracious and merciful and kind and thought of us. And let me
show you another one here of a righteous man. Another mark
of a righteous man. A fifth mark of a righteous man.
Verse 25. I have been young. And you know what it's like to
be young? Ignorant. foolish, impetuous, making all the wrong decisions. Yeah, just young, ignorant, boy
ain't nobody can tell you nothing. You know, somebody try to help
you out and you say, well, mind your own business, you know,
I can figure this out myself, and I, you know, and that's what
David was. He said, I was young, and I was
foolish, and I was proud, and I was arrogant, and I want things
done my way. Now he says, but I've got old
now. I've learned some things. And it takes, you got to get
old. And he says, I was young and
now I'm old. And you know what I see? Young
or old. From the time I've been a young
man, from the time now that I'm an old man. When I was young
and stupid, and now I'm old and hopefully got some wisdom. I
tell you what I've never seen. I've never seen the righteous
forsaken. I've seen the righteous in some
tough situations. I've seen myself in some tough
situations. I've seen the Lord's people in
some tough situations. I've seen the king in tough situations. I've seen the righteous, but
I never ever saw him forsaken. I've seen him with enemies surrounding
him, never forsaken. David said his own wife called
him a fool. He said, but the Lord never forsook
me. And I'll tell you what, beloved, I've never seen the righteous
forsaken. And I'll tell you one thing, you never will see the
righteous forsaken. Never will see the righteous
forsaken. If God was ever going to forsake anybody, He'd have
pursued me and He'd have pursued you. If there's something that would
cause Him to ever forsake anybody, He'd forsake us. But there's
no reason that caused Him to save us and there's no reason
to cause Him ever to forsake us. He's the one that made us
righteous. He's the one that keeps us and
upholds us in the righteousness and He beloved will never ever
forsake the righteous. You go through the scriptures
and how many were never forsaken. Noah drunk in his tent, righteous
never forsaken. David when he was with Bathsheba,
the righteous never forsaken. Solomon with all of his idols
and all of his wild, wicked women that he got involved with. The
righteous never forsaken. And boy oh boy, this old man's
testimony is precious. It's encouraging. And this comes
from the heart of a man who is the man after God's own heart
who says this. And if he said, I've never seen,
I was young and now I'm old, I've never seen the righteous
forsaken. We'll never see him forsaken either. And then let
me give you another reason how this is another mark of the righteous
man. Look down at verse 30. He's blessed
with wisdom. He's blessed with wisdom. The
mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom, and his tongue talketh
of judgment. And look at there in verse 31,
the law of his God is in his heart, none of his steps are
sly. He's blessed with wisdom. The
mouth of the righteous speaks wisdom. And what does he speak
wisdom from? The law of God is in his heart.
The word of God that's in his heart. He can talk of the wisdom. He can talk of righteousness.
He can talk of Christ. And His tongue can talk of judgment.
He can talk of righteous judgment. He can talk of God's judgments.
He can talk of God, how He deals with people. And I tell you,
it says here, the law of God is in His heart. The Word is
in His heart. His mouth speaks wisdom because
the Word of God is in His heart. And out of the heart of the good
treasure, the Word comes. Look over here with me and James. Let's look at this business of
wisdom just a moment. James chapter 3. You know, the
mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom. He speaks from God's Word. He
speaks of God's Word. He's not rash. He don't jump
into things real quick. And his tongue talks of judgment.
Let's consider the end of a matter. Let's see if it's going to come
out this way or come out that way. And he makes judgments and
he weighs things in light of God's Word. And then his mouth
speaks righteousness and his mouth speaks wisdom. But look
here in James 3.13. Who is a wise man? and endued with knowledge among
you. That's what he's asking. He's
asking this group. He's asking these people he's writing to.
Who's a wise man and been blessed with knowledge among you? Well,
if you've got wisdom and you've got some knowledge, let him show
out of a good conversation or out of a good manner of living
his works with meekness and wisdom. Just let him go and live his
life, if he's got some wisdom, he's got some knowledge, by his
life and his lifestyle and the manner of living, let him just
by his living show his worth with the meekness of wisdom.
But, if you have bitter envy and strife in your hearts, and
glory not, and lie not against the truth, because this wisdom
descendeth not from above, this envy and strife, This envy and
strife, he said, this wisdom descendeth not from above, but
is earthly, devilish, sensual. For where envy and strife is,
there is confusion in every evil work. Oh, you get people fussing and
fighting among themselves and striving among themselves and
trying to outdo one another and trying to say who's the best
at this, the best at that. And then he says, that's just
confusion. But the wisdom, listen to this
now. That is from above. First thing about it, it's pure.
What makes it pure? It comes from God. Every good
and perfect gift cometh down from the Father of lights. It's
first pure, then what's this? It's peaceable. It ain't gonna
get no argument with you. It's not gonna fight with you.
It's not gonna debate with you. And this, listen here, and this
gentleman, this gentleman, I'm not going to jump on you when
you say something you're not supposed to say or act some way
or something. And it's easy to be entreated. It's easy for you
to come up and ask things of it. Ask of this wisdom. Ask of
this wisdom. And watch what it's full of mercy.
This wisdom that comes from the Bible. Full of it and good fruits. And it don't show any partiality.
It don't treat one person above another person. And it has no
hypocrisy. And the fruit of righteousness
is soul and peace of them that make peace. Oh, he said, that's
the way the righteous man is. He's got that wisdom, blessed
with wisdom. And out of the heart, he brings
forth treasures, new and old. And then let me show you, here's
the seventh thing about the righteous man. Seventh mark of a righteous
man. Down to verse 37. Mark the perfect man. There's
several things that you're supposed to mark in the scriptures. Mark
the perfect man. That means, boy, look at him.
Consider him. Watch him. Mark that perfect
man. And behold the upright. And I'll
tell you what his end's gonna be. I'll tell you what the end
of his life's gonna be. What his end's gonna be. And
you know what it is? Peace. is in this peace Christ made
peace for him through the blood of his cross God gave peace to
him in the gospel and the word of God as we hear the word it
maintains that peace in us and continues and strengthens that
peace that's in us our Lord says my peace I leave with you my
peace I give unto you let me show you something over here
in Psalm 119 verse 165 Psalm 119 verse 165. Peace, peace. Oh, peace. There's nothing like
peace. Just nothing like it. Wake up
in the middle of the night and you don't know what's going on.
There's peace. There is something. I know a little and I think a
lot of you all do. I think you know something about
that peace that passes understanding. How can they have such calm and
how can they have such peace with what's going on? It's a
peace that passes understanding. You can't understand how you
can have such peace with what's happening. How can you be so
calm? How can you be so restful? How can you be so peaceful? Because God gives you peace.
And it's a real thing. My Lord Jesus said, I give, I
leave you my peace. My peace. What he's talking about?
Me and my Father are in perfect union. We're as one. There's never, me and my father
is one. There's a perfect amity between
me and my father. And he said, that's the way it
is with me and you, and you and my father. Perfect peace, amity
between you. There's no reason why you wouldn't
have my peace, because me and my father are one. And me and
my father are just perfect in union. And he said, if I give
you my peace, then you got peace with God. Peace with the Father. And look what he said here in
Psalm 119, 165. Listen to this. Great peace have they which
love thy law. You know when he talks about
loving your law, loving the law, he's talking about all the Word
of God. And listen to what else is said here, and nothing shall
offend them and in this margin it says there's no stumbling
block for them. Nothing in God's Word, no way
God deals with us, nothing that happens to us that God will ever
be preached to us or we'll find in His Word or how God deals
with us that will cause us to stumble over it. He won't do
it. You know why? Because we've got
great peace and there ain't nothing God can say That's what he said
about a bunch. He said, why are you offended
in me? Why are you offended in me? Why do you stumble over me?
I don't stumble over Christ. I don't stumble over anything
I found in the Scriptures. Have you? Anything in the Gospel. And that's why he says, great
peace have they. And they ain't going to stumble
over anything that God says, teaches them, or does for them.
They ain't going to do it. You know what? They've got peace.
They love His Word. If it rebukes them, gives them peace. You know what?
God loves me. Just rebuke me. If you're down,
He picks you up. You say, Lord knows me. Great
peace have they, beloved Lord. And then last, let me give you
the last one. Here's the eighth mark of a righteous man. Down in verse 39. The salvation of the righteous
is of the Lord. That's an old message to say. The salvation, the righteous
man's salvation. Where did you get your salvation?
God gave it to me. How did you get it? God gave
it to me. Where did it come from? The Lord gave it to me. I listened
to a fellow priest this week, a man asked me to. And oh, I
was so discouraged with this fellow's preaching. I was so
discouraged with it. And all the songs they sung,
and things he said, and oh my. He talked about, you know, God
giving you, you know, a secret place in your heart, and that
God gives you the key. And if you'll just use the key
God gives you, then Jesus will come in. Oh, it was just awful. It was just awful. Started to
out know the truth, and the truth set you free. And the truth couldn't
set you free unless you, you know, God did this wonderful
purpose and wonderful work and go slap you with the truth, you
know, and then you had to decide whether even if He slapped you
with it, if you still wanted it or not. But anyway, the righteous
man, from Alba to Omega, he says,
this I know, that salvation is up the Lord. He which hath begun
a good work in you, what's he going to do? He's going to finish
it. Finish it. And that's why boasting
is excluded. That's why a believer will not
boast. We're saved by grace through
faith. And boasting, what could you
possibly boast of that you've ever done? That's why Paul said,
if any man boast, or any man glory, let him glory in the Lord. Oh my, I say salvation is of
the Lord. Look what it says down in verse
40. And the Lord shall help them
and deliver them, He shall deliver them from the wicked and save
them. And here's why, because they trusted Him. You know why
we trust Him? Because He first came and gave
us faith to trust Him. He gave us the ability to trust
Him. Look in Daniel, and I'll be through. Look over here in
Daniel. You got Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and Daniel. Look in
Daniel 6. You all know the story about
Daniel and the lion's den. Let's look what happened here
real quick, just for now. You know, the salvation of the
righteous is of the Lord. It's of the Lord. Jonah, he cried out from the
belly of hell, this I know, this salvation is of the Lord. If
I'm brought out of here, God's got to bring me out of here.
If I'm saved, God's got to save me. And that's why when we pray,
when we pray, Lord, we ask, Lord, enable them to trust you. Enable
them to believe you. Enable people to cast themselves
on you. If a man ever trusts God, God's
got to enable him to trust Him. If a man ever calls on God, God's
got a first call on him. If a man believes, God's got
to give him the faith. And that's one way you can know
whether you have faith or not. Has God ever taken and enabled
you so you can say, yes, I believe the salvations of the Lord, and
yes, Jesus Christ is the only Savior there is that I can trust. Look what happened to Daniel
here now. Daniel's in the lion's den. The king's standing over
there and he's looking down in the den, he's looking for Daniel
down there. Verse 23, Then was the king exceeding
glad for him, and commanded that they should take Daniel up out
of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no matter
of hurt was found upon him, now listen to what he says here,
because he believed in his God. Oh, he says, you know, put me
in there. God will bring me out. God will save me. And that's
the way it is. Beloved, the salvation of the
Lord is a continual salvation. It's a constant salvation. It's
a blessed salvation. And I may speak, I may say some
things about salvation of the righteous and the salvation in
all of its tenses, Sunday maybe. But I know this. that you know,
and I know this, that if God had not saved us, we wouldn't
be saved. We would not… This idea, you
know, I got saved. No, God saved me. A woman asked
me one time, Which is the proper way to say it? The Lord saved
me, or I got saved? I said, the Lord saved me. And she said, that's what happened
to me. The Lord saved me, but I hear
people talking about they got saved. He said, how do you folks
say it? She was just a young woman. I
said, the Lord saved me. The Lord did it. God did a work
for me. God did a work in me. That's
the only way you can say it. You can't say it any other way,
can you? I got saved? How did you get saved? Don't
ask me that one time. I talked about, you know, about
how grace, God done this and that, and this old fellow looked
at me and said, tell me how that happened. Tell me how that happens. How did you let God do anything?
Explain that to me, he said. I said, whoa, wait a minute. You can't explain it. You know. Salvation is of the
Lord. It's of the Lord. Our Father, in the blessed name
of our Lord Jesus, thank You for meeting with us. Thank You
for showing us these things about the righteous in Your precious
Word. Lord, everything about us, You made us. Everything we
know, You taught us. Everything we possess, You gave
to us. And Lord, we acknowledge you in all of our ways. In Christ
our Lord's name. Amen. Amen. What's that song? Calvary. I
didn't know that. In this book. Years I spent in vanity and pride.
Is that the name of it? Calvary. Calvary. 477. Let's sing a couple of verses
in that. 477. Years I spent in vanity and pride
Caring not my Lord was crucified Knowing not it was for me He
died O Calvary There was grace and grace was
free. I and there was multiplied. and so have liberty and Calvary. Second verse. By God's word at
last my sin I learn, the law I've served, till my
guilty soul in pouring turn to Calvary. Mercy there was great and grace
was heart in there was multiplied to me there my burdened soul
found liberty at Calvary. Let's do verse four. Oh, the love that drew salvation's Oh, the grace that brought it
down to man Oh, the mighty God that God did stand and God above
Mercy there was great and grace was free Pardon there was multiplied
to me There my burdened soul felt liberty At Calvary I'll see you Sunday, God willing.
