The title of my message this
morning is Heirs of God. You'll find our text in Romans
chapter 8 and verse 17. Heirs of God, Romans 8, 17. And if children, then heirs,
heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if so be that we
suffer with him. that we may be also glorified
together. As you well know, Romans 8 is
one of my favorite portions of scripture. Every line in this
great chapter is a text bursting with meaning. It seems to be
an inexhaustible mind overflowing with the glorious gospel truth
of God our Savior. Every word seems to echo grace,
grace, grace. Everything directs our thoughts
to the grace of God and shows forth the marvelous work of God,
glorious in his sovereignty, in exercising his grace upon
sinners to the saving of our souls. Starting with verse one,
Paul seems to be building a ladder, a golden ladder, each step ascending
higher and higher. The book moves or this chapter
moves from justification to regeneration and rises from regeneration to
sanctification and from sanctification to glorification. And in glorification,
God's elect are here declared to be heirs of God. and joint heirs with Jesus Christ. I urge you, both you who are
yet under the wrath of God and you who are the saints of God,
think all you can about death and eternity. Think all you can
about death and eternity. Ask God to give you some understanding
with sobriety of the fact that soon you must die and soon enter
into eternity either eternal bliss or eternal torment here
our text speaks of eternal bliss belonging to God Saints and that
inheritance which is ours in Christ Jesus is an incomparable
inheritance. The book of God declares, I hath
not seen nor ear heard, neither hath it entered into the heart
of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love
him. We have many things, facts about
that inheritance revealed in scripture, many facts. And yet the book of God says,
I hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither hath it entered into
the heart of man the things which God hath prepared for them that
love Him. But He's revealed them to us
by His Spirit. He's revealed to us the certainty
of it and the fact of it. He's revealed to us the incomparable
glory of it. But whatever it is that you have
thought heaven must be like, It falls infinitely short, infinitely short of the glory
that awaits us. To all who believe on the Lord
Jesus Christ, this is a promise of an eternal inheritance, incorruptible,
undefiled, that fadeth not away. What does it mean to be an heir
of God? I know this much, this inheritance
is the only inheritance there is worth having. Any other inheritance,
no matter what it is, is unsatisfying and disappointing. Any other
inheritance may very well do more harm than good. the riches of this world for
which men labor so feverishly. It's just our nature. We labor
so feverishly for fame and fortune. We labor feverishly for the riches
of this world. But they're sure to bring with
them cares and sorrows. The riches of this world can
never cure an aching heart, ease a troubled conscience, or relieve
the burdens of a guilty soul. All the riches of this world
cannot prevent sickness, bereavement, separations, sorrows, troubles,
and death. They can't even secure temporary
happiness domestic tranquility but there will never be any disappointments
among the heirs of God in heaven the inheritance spoken of here
in Romans 8 17 is the only inheritance that can be kept for us forever
all others must be left soon as soon as you breathe your last
breath if they have not vanished beforehand Howard Hughes took
no more with him to the grave than Lazarus in the parable of
our Lord took with him to the grave. But that's not the case
with the heirs of God. Our inheritance in Christ, that
inheritance obtained for us by his blood is described in Hebrews
9.15 as an eternal inheritance. The inheritance I'm talking about
here is the only inheritance there is. within the reach of
all who desire it. This is the only inheritance
there is within the reach of all who desire it. Most people
in this world will never be able to attain great wealth or attain
greatness of any kind, no matter how hard they work, no matter
how much they strive to attain those things. I know some folks
who are comfortable. I know others who are wealthy.
I know others who who struggle when they're old enough to start
drawing Social Security, they still live from paycheck to paycheck,
struggling all the time. Not because they're lazy, not
because they won't work, not because they're not smart, just
because that's the way God has arranged it in his providence.
Riches and poverty alike are of the Lord, but the glory The
honor, the eternal inheritance set before you in the gospel
is promised to all who will accept Christ our Redeemer, accepting
this inheritance on God's terms. Whosoever will may be an heir
of God and joint heir with Jesus Christ. Be sure you understand
what I've just said. Glory, honor and eternal life. are set before you in the gospel
and freely promised to all who will have them on God's terms
freely within the reach of all who desire them. Whosoever will
may be an heir of God and joint heir of Jesus Christ. As I was
preparing this morning to preach to you, I recognized and was moved to
prayer again by this fact. Some of you woke up this morning
in the greatest form of poverty, under the wrath of God, without
God, without Christ, without hope, lost, ruined, doomed, damned,
under the curse of God, perishing, children of wrath, even as others. But it may be It may be. This is the very day God intends
to do a mighty work of grace in you. It may be that before
you leave this house of worship today, you will be made to be heir of
God and joint heir with Jesus Christ. Oh, what a glorious prospect. May God be pleased to perform
that work of his grace necessary to make you heirs of God and
joint heirs with Jesus Christ so that you believe on his son
and are by his spirit constrained to call God your father. All
who are the children of God are heirs of God and joint heirs
with Christ Jesus Our Lord. Now, let me show you four things
in this text. Just keep your Bibles right here
at Romans 8, 17. Here's the first thing I want you to see. It's
the ground or the condition of airship. Our text begins, if
children, then heirs. If children, then heirs. Many years ago, Brother Scott
Richardson made this statement from this pulpit. You cannot
claim any promise of God in this book unless you meet the character
of the one to whom the promise is made. You cannot claim any
promise in this book unless you meet the character of the one
to whom the promise is made. The emphasis for now must be
placed on this word if. If we are children of God, then
we're heirs of God. But if you're not the children
of God, then you're not the heirs of God. And the fact is, shocking
as it is to many, we are not all the children of God. I know
almost everybody in the world thinks that way. You often hear
folks say, well, we're all the children of God. That's just
not so. That's just not so. We're all
His creatures. We all depend upon Him. We all
are fed by Him and given life by Him, sustained in life by
Him, and will be brought to death according to His will. But not
all are God's children. Natural creation does not make
you a child of God. The text does not say, if creatures,
then heirs. Family descent does not make
you a child of God. It is not written if children
of God be parents than heirs. The grace of God does not run
in bloodlines. Being related to a believer doesn't
make you a believer. Being the husband of a believer
doesn't make you a believer. Being a wife to one who is a
child of God doesn't make you a child of God. Being the son
or daughter of one who is a child of God doesn't make you a child
of God. The scripture speaks plainly.
As many as received him, to them gave he the power, the right,
the authority to be the sons of God. Even to them which believe
on his name, which were born not of blood, nor of the will
of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. The children of promise, they
are counted for God's seed, that the purpose of God according
to election might stand not of works, but of him that calleth.
Human merit, human merit, human merit will never make you a child
of God. It doesn't say if servants than
heirs. The scripture speaks plainly
again, cast out the bondwoman and her son. For the son of the
bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the free woman. That
is, your works, your legal works, your religious works, will never
make you a child of God. And religious ritual will not
make you a child of God. The text does not say, if circumcised
or baptized, then heirs. No, no. If children, then heirs. Multitudes fondly believe. that their children of God, because
they were baptized, had a little water sprinkled on their face
as babies, and some preachers said some mumbo-jumbo over them
as babies. They become heirs of God, heirs
of God's covenant. A. A. Hodge, in his outlines
of systematic theology, makes this statement, and this is the
sum and substance of the heresy of infant baptism. He says, the
baptized children are believing parents. Enter into the covenant
of grace. Oh, no. Oh, no. Being baptized
as a baby didn't do you any good, only harm. Being baptized as
a baby didn't do you any good, only harm. Made you think everything's
all right when nothing is right. The worst thing you could do
for your sons and daughters is raise them up with a presumption
of grace You can't do anything more harmful to their souls.
I Asked God take that baby yours first time. I saw it God be merciful
to that child God be merciful that child pray for them pray
for them, but don't raise them Presuming that they're God's
children. Oh, no. No, no many vainly presume
that because they were baptized as babies, everything's all right.
Others vainly presume that since they have knelt at an altar,
or they've been baptized, or they observe the ordinances of
worship, they're members of a local church, then they're heirs of
God. Not so. Many have the idea that
because they've been led down Some superstitious Romans rode
to salvation by a zealous soul winner than their heirs of God.
Shelby and I stopped at McDonald's in Lexington on the way back
from the eye doctor or the heart doctor last Tuesday morning early. And there's a fella in there.
We walked in. He was sitting there passing
out tracts to folks, just passing out tracts. And I was a little
curious, anxious to find out what he's passing out. I had
a good idea. But he said it one time, just before he left. He
said, let me give you a map to heaven. And I knew what he was
talking about. You say this, and you say that,
and you agree with that. And you say, I believe in Jesus.
Whoopie. Everything's all right. Not so. Not so. Oh, no. Those are the
heirs of God. Our children of God, by personal,
God-given, Faith in Jesus Christ. Personal, God-given faith in
Jesus Christ that causes you to do what you will not otherwise
do. Receive the Son of God. Take the Son of God. Believe
on the Son of God. Eat his flesh and drink his blood. That is, to receive for yourself
all the worth of his blood and righteousness, bowing to him
as God your Lord and your Savior. If children, then heirs. I'm
not asking, are you religious or are you moral? Are you a church
member or have you decided for Jesus? I'm asking are you a child
of God? Hold your hands here in Romans
7 and see what that means Romans chapter 7 and turn back to I'm
sorry Romans 8 and turn back to John chapter 3 John chapter
3 Hear what our Lord Jesus says
to you and to me He's talking now to a very respectable very
strictly moral, very highly educated, religious leader. He's talking
to a religious leader, a religious leader. This fellow was president
of the seminary. He was one of the Pope's cardinals.
This fellow was a rabbi among the Jews. This fellow was, what
do they call those fellows with the towel heads? Amir this fellow
something else. He was a he was a religious leader
He wasn't just he wasn't just fell off the street. He was a
great religious leader This is what our Lord Jesus says to him
to you and to me John 3 verse 3 Barely barely I say unto thee
except a man be born again. He cannot see the kingdom of
God You you can cast all the light you want to and he still
can't see it You can describe it with the greatest accuracy.
He still can't see it. You can talk about it with great
reason and logic. He still can't see it. He's not
born again. Nicodemus saith unto him, How
can a man be born when he's old? Can he enter the second time
in his mother's womb and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily,
I say unto thee, except the man be born of water and of the spirit. He cannot enter into the kingdom
of God. That which is born of flesh is
flesh, and that which is born of the spirit is spirit. Marvel
not that I said unto thee, ye must be born again. Now, I know that some of you
are asking, Pastor, how can I know whether or not I'm a child of
God? How can I know whether or not I'm born again? How can I
know whether or not I have life from above? God, the Holy Spirit,
provides us with very clear answers in his word. Let me give you
five of those answers. I don't pretend these are all
there are, but here are five characteristics which describe
those who are God's children. If these things are true of you,
you're an heir of God, a child of God, born of God. If they
don't describe you, you're not a child of God, you're not an
heir of God, you're not born of God, but children of wrath
even as others. Number one, all who are born
of God, all who are the children of God, all who are heirs of
God say, by the grace of God, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ
to as many as received Him. If where you are right now, if
right now you receive Christ, you find yourself believing Him,
God has given you the power, the right, and the authority
The conscious right to call God your father. The authority to
become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name. If you trust the Lord Jesus Christ,
if you trust Christ, you're born of God. You're born of God. You say, well, I don't know whether
I trust him or not. That's just not so. That's just not so. If you trust Him, you know you
trust Him. But I don't feel like I trust Him. That's not the issue.
But I sure don't act like I trust Him. That's not the issue. That's
not the issue. Do you trust your soul to Jesus
Christ alone? In spite of everything I know
about Don Fort. In spite of everything I know
about Don Fortner, not because of anything I know about him.
In spite of everything I know about Don Fortner, I know this. Jesus Christ alone is all my
hope before God. I trust my soul upon his blood,
his righteousness, and his grace. And this is what the book of
God says. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence
of things not seen. Number two, all who are the children
of God are led by the Spirit of God. We're told in verse 14
of Romans 8, As many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are
the sons of God. God, the Holy Spirit, leads those
who are Christ. There is a movement in their
hearts directing them, efficaciously directing them, so that their
affection is set upon Christ and things above. God, the Holy
Spirit, always leads us in a specific way. I know, I know people talk
about the Holy Spirit doing this, doing that, doing other things.
This I know he does. God the Holy Spirit always leads
us away from ourselves to Christ. Always. Sadly, most people in churches
today of any brand will leave the place of worship with their eyes focused upon
themselves. Either what they ought to do
or have done or shouldn't have done or must yet do their eyes
focused on themselves. Any preaching that leaves you
looking to yourself is not gospel preaching. Oh, no. God, the Holy
Spirit, by the Word of God, leads us away from ourselves to Christ
Jesus, the Lord, away from our righteousness to his righteousness,
away from self-confidence to the confidence of faith. I know
that preachers who try to mix grace and works, they talk about
Believing on Christ and trusting the righteousness of Christ and
trusting his blood, but they preach works it just it it always
comes out sounding like works because the Point you to something
in you By which you have confidence in Christ That doesn't make any
sense to me that point you to your works of righteousness to
assure you that you have the righteousness of Christ. That
didn't make any sense. Oh, no. God, the Spirit, by his
word, moves us away from self to Christ, away from our feelings
to Christ, away from our goodness to Christ's goodness. And God,
the Holy Spirit, orders our steps day by day in life by providence,
through the counsel of his word, and by the power of his grace
in the will of God, in paths of righteousness to the throne
of grace. God leads his dear children along,
some through the water, some through the flood, some through
the fire, but all through the blood, some through great sorrow. But God gives a song for in the
night season, God leads his dear children alone. Our lives as
God's people are directed by God's Spirit. Here's the third
thing. All who are born again by the power of God's grace have
the blessed liberty of the sons of God. Our text, or this eighth chapter
of Romans, begins with this statement. There is therefore now no condemnation
to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh
but after the spirit. For the law of the spirit of
life in Christ Jesus hath made me free, free from the law of sin and
death. Religion, all religion, doesn't
matter whether it's Baptist or Presbyterian our papist, our
Judaism, our Islam, our Hinduism. It doesn't matter what all religion,
all religion maintains itself, promotes itself and controls
things by seeking to control you. By seeking to enforce rules
on you, by seeking to conform you to their code of conduct
or their creed, seeking to get you compelled in some form of
bondage. All religion except faith in
Christ. I'm asked often, what is your
church covenant? We don't have one. Well, what
are your bylaws? We don't have any. What's your
creed? This book. Well, everybody says
that. No, they don't. No, they don't.
No, no. They say we believe the Bible
and this is our creed. This one. And I'll promise you
something. Now, this is the very reason
I have never been pressured to write a confession of faith and
say, now, this is what folks, Grace Baptist Church believe.
Sign this and everything's all right. This is the reason they
don't do it. Every time the confession of faith comes into competition
with the Word of God, you close the book and say this is what
we believe. Every time. Not most of the time. Not sometimes. Every single time. Every time. I'll give you one example everybody
in Central Kentucky is aware of. I'll give you one example.
One example. If you should care to look up
A Southern Badness Convention Confession of Faith. If you should
care to read it, do you know what they say they believe? Exactly
what you hear preached in this pulpit three times every week.
Exactly what you hear here. Now, go to any Southern Badness
Church, anywhere you want to, and tell me when you hear it.
Find it. Well, we believe, no, no. Folks, ignore what they want
to ignore. And if they'll ignore what God
says, they'll ignore what you say. No, no, no, no. We simply
call on you to believe and say, as our Lord said about Lazarus
when he came out of the grave in those gray clothes, loose
him and let him go. Loose him and let him go. Well,
Brother Don, how should I live? Ask God. Ask, should I do this or that?
Ask God. I'll tell you what you don't
have a struggle with. You don't have any struggle with what you
ought to do. You know what you ought to do. What you have struggle
with is what you're going to do. Those are two different things. Those are two different things.
I'll tell you what I've never had happen. I've never had happen.
I've been pastoring for 45 years, and I've had folks come to me
and ask me, Brother Don, do you think it's all right for Christians
to wear shorts? Brother Don, do you think it's
all right for Christians to go to the movies? Brother Don, do
you think it's all right for Christians to watch television?
I'll tell you who asked those questions. Some gal, real pious
and pompous and too fat to wear shorts, and she says, I don't
wear shorts. Brother Don, do you think it's
all right for Christians to wear shorts? Somebody who's real pompous and
pious, I don't watch, we don't have television in our house,
but I want to know, do you think it's right for Christians, what
they're asking, is it all right for Bobby to wear shorts, watch
television, go to the movies? I've never had anybody come and
ask me, do you think it's all right for me to do this that
I'm about to do? I've never had it happen. Not
one time in 45 years. because everybody wants to be
somebody else's controller. Not God's servants, not God's
church. God's people are free in Christ
Jesus to follow the Lord and serve him freely. You'll never
have this pastor checking up on you, see how much time you
spend in prayer, how much time you spend reading the Bible,
how many times you go to church. Not this pastor, not going to
happen. Now, I'm not even going to try to force you to do it.
I'll encourage you all I can. I'm not going to try to put any
kind of pressure on you to do it. God's people are free and free folk
serve Christ because they want to. That's all. That's all. We've been delivered from the
slavish fear of God caused by the guilt of sin and terror of
the law. We've been redeemed from the
blood of Christ or redeemed by the blood of Christ from the
curse of the law. That curse that caused Adam to
hide himself in the trees of the garden and made Cain go out
from the presence of the Lord. We've exchanged the spirit of
bondage for the spirit of liberty. We've given up the spirit of
fear for the spirit of love. We put off the spirit of obligation
and put on the spirit of gratitude. We've dropped the spirit of law
and taken up the spirit of grace. Fourth, all who are born of God
are children of God. and they had the witness of the
Spirit in them that they're the children of God. Verse 16, the
Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit that we're the
children of God. How does he do that? How does
he do that? God, the Holy Spirit, takes the
things of Christ by the preaching of the gospel and applies them
to you personally, sprinkling your conscience with the blood
of Christ so that you have witness from God like Enoch of old, testimony
from God that you're righteous because God has given you faith
in Christ. Believing on him, God declares
your sins are gone. Righteousness is yours. You're
forgiven, accepted in the beloved. He that believeth on the Son
of God hath the witness in himself. We have the witness of the Spirit,
that which the world can never have. By the witness of the Spirit,
we have that which religion can never give. By the witness of
the Spirit, we have something that making a profession of faith
won't give you. We have a good hope through grace. We have the seal of the Spirit
in us so that all the blessings of the covenant are sealed to
our hearts. We have the earnest, the foretaste, the down payment,
the pledge of an eternal inheritance. And fifthly, the sons of God
voluntarily take part in the sufferings of Christ. If so be
that we suffer with him, that we may be glorified What does that mean? God's children,
all of God's children, voluntarily take up the cross and follow
Christ. All of them. All of them. Except you take up your cross
and follow me. You cannot be my disciples. What does that mean? God's children,
all of them, surrender their lives to Jesus Christ as Lord
and walk in a path of faith knowing, knowing that it will cost them. Knowing it. People talk about a cross they
have to carry. And, you know, some fellows are born with physical
infirmities. develop physical infirmities,
and others have calamities happen in their lives. They say, well,
this is just my cross. I have to bear it. No, that's
not what he's talking about. This is a voluntary thing. They
take up their cross and follow Christ, allowing neither
husband nor wife, nor son nor daughter, nor mother nor father
to interfere. They take up their cross and
follow Christ, follow him. That's the condition of heirship.
If we'd be children. Now, I want you to see that if
God, the Holy Spirit identifies us as heirs of God, then indeed
we are heirs of God. I haven't lost my marbles. I'm
not repeating myself. Notice the words, if children,
then heirs, and this is the teaching. All who are the children of God
are heirs of God for the same reason, to the same extent, to
the same fullness. All who are children are heirs
of God for the same reason, to the same extent, to the same
fullness. There are multitudes who Tell us that if you believe on
Christ while believing him makes you God's child, then you're
sure to go to heaven, but you may inherit a scanty portion
because you've been naughty sons and daughters. And others will
have a large inheritance because they've been really good. Now let me tell you something.
God is not a man. And he's not going to disinherit
you because you misbehave. No, no. Oh, no. God's children
have an inheritance of works. Oh, no. A thousand times no. Our inheritance
is an inheritance of grace, glorification. This inheritance is not to be
separated somehow from all the work of God in salvation, glorification,
in resurrection glory. That's just the final consummation
of salvation by God's free grace. This idea of rewards in heaven,
our loss of rewards in heaven, is nothing on this earth but
a baddest form of purgatory. It is nothing else, nothing else.
If we are the Lord's children, then there's no doubt that can
exist regarding our heavenly inheritance. Whoever he was who
invented the idea of degrees of reward in heaven knew nothing
about the grace of God. Now, let me tell you why. We
are all children of the same father. We're all loved with
the same love, an everlasting love without cause, loved from
eternity. There are no degrees in the love
of God. We're all blessed with the same
blessings of eternity. Our father blessed us with all
spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ before the world
was. And he's never going to take
away that which he has given us from eternity. We are all
accepted of God. upon the same grounds. We're
accepted not in the church, not in our religion, not by our works.
We're accepted in the beloved. We're all equally related to
our elder brother, the firstborn son, Jesus Christ, through whom
all the inheritance comes. And we've all already obtained
the inheritance. That means, Ricky Dale, if you
believe on the Son of God, Ephesians chapter 1 verse 11. In him we
have obtained an inheritance. Not in him we shall obtain. In
him we have obtained an inheritance. The inheritance is already ours.
Christ has already claimed it for us. Hebrews chapter 6 verse
20. More than that, there is no room
for works in the system of grace. You put works in, in the beginning,
or in the process, or along the way, or in the end, you push
grace out. There's no room for works. Well,
Brother Don, the way you talk, what we do on this earth, doesn't
have any bearing on what we inherit in heaven. Well, I'm glad I talked
that way. That's what I meant to say. That's what I meant to
say. No bearing whatsoever. The only thing that has bearing
is Jesus Christ our Lord, in whom we are now made meat to
be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light, worthy
of God. That means, Fred Tuttle, if you believe on Christ, If
you trust him right now, I mean just this second you begin to
believe on Christ. And you die like that penitent
thief having never had opportunity to confess him in baptism, having
never had opportunity to take the Lord's Supper, having never
had opportunity to sing his praise, having never had opportunity
to join his congregation in worship, having never had opportunity
to do anything for him. He's just, oh, just Lord, remember
me and you go. That's all you got. That's all. What else do you want? What just exactly what else was
it you wanted? That means if you believe on Christ, You're
as worthy of God's approval as Christ himself, right now and
forever. You got that? You got that? Altogether worthy. Brother Larry
Brown knew Clayton Cavanaugh. He was saved when he was an old
man. He had a brother who was in one of those churches that
talked about crowns, you know, where you'd get lopsided, you'd
have so many. And his brother, was concerned for him because
he wasn't in the right church. He didn't attend one of those
churches that started by a church that started by a church that
started by a church that had church authority. And Brother
Cavanaugh said to his brother one time, said, do you reckon
I'm saved? He said, oh yeah, I believe you're
saved. He said, do you reckon I'll have
Christ? He said, yeah, not any rewards.
He said, that's enough. Christ is all I want. He is our
reward. Do you understand that? Heirs
of God. Now look at the inheritance.
This is an inheritance from God. Divinely great. He that overcometh, our Lord
says, shall inherit all things. All things are yours for ye are
Christ. To be heirs of God means that
we're heirs of God's salvation. Heirs of eternal life. Heirs
of all the promises of God. Heirs of righteousness. Heirs of the kingdom. It is an
inheritance of infinite proportion. To be heirs of God means that
we possess all that God possesses. To be heirs of God means that
we're heirs of all that God is. To be heirs of God is to be heirs
of God himself. Joint heirs with Jesus Christ. So that all that Christ, the
God-man, our mediator, see him yonder seated in glory. Him to
whom the Father has given all things. The Lord Jesus said, the glory, the glory that you've
given me. See in there? All the glory you've
given me, I've given them. I've given my children. John
17, 22. Here's the fourth thing. If heirs, if children, then heirs,
heirs of God and joint heirs with Jesus Christ. joint heirs with Christ is talking about our union with
Christ. God has pardoned us, received
us into his house, adopted us as his sons, made us his heirs
and made us joint heirs with Christ. As justification is union and
communion with Christ in his righteousness. as sanctification
is union and communion with Christ in his holiness. Glorification
shall be union and communion with Christ in his sonship. Our inheritance with Christ is
an inheritance of which we are all together worthy because Christ
is worthy. And we are accepted and well-pleasing
to God in His darling Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. And we shall inherit all things. All things. All the glory of
heaven. All the bliss of eternal life. All the perpetual blessedness
of God's delight and smile manifestly upon us. All the blessedness
of heaven's glory in which we're told God shall wipe away all
tears from their eyes. For there'll be no more sorrow.
and no more pain, and no more sickness, and no more death,
and no more sin, for the former things are passed away, and they
shall see His face. Oh, what blessed glory awaits
us. They shall see His face.
