If you will open your Bibles
with me to Ephesians chapter 1, Ephesians chapter 1, verses
15 through 23, you will see my prayer for you. That's the title
of my message, my prayer for you. That which the Apostle Paul
sought for these saints at Ephesus, I seek for you. This is my prayer
to God for you. Wherefore, I also, after I heard
of your faith in the Lord Jesus and love unto all the saints,
cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in
my prayers, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father
of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation
in the knowledge of him, the eyes of your understanding being
enlightened, that ye may know what is the hope of his calling,
and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
and what is the exceeding greatness of his power to usward who according
to the working of his mighty power, which he wrought in Christ
Jesus when he raised him from the dead and set him at his own
right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and
power and might and dominion and every name that is named,
not only in this world, but also in that which is to come, and
hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the
head over all things to the church, which is his body, the fullness
of him that filleth all in all. Now just hold your Bibles open
on your lap and let me show you four things in these few verses
of great instruction. First, look at verses 15 and
16. Here the Apostle Paul speaks
of the grace of God upon these saints, the grace of God upon
them, which inspired his prayers to God for them. He speaks to
us here about grace inspiring prayer. Grace inspiring prayer,
that is to say, the grace of God manifest in the people of
God inspires them to pray for one another. Wherefore, he begins,
wherefore, I also after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus,
and love unto all the saints, cease not to give thanks for
you, making mention of you in my prayers. The sentence begins
with that word wherefore. It refers us back to those things
that the apostle has been speaking of in the first 14 verses of
this chapter. He's saying here, because of
all that God has done for you, because of all the bounteous
grace of God heaped upon you, I can't refrain from thanking
God for you and from calling your names before God at the
throne of grace. He's talking about all God's
grace upon you. In the light of the fact that
God has so richly blessed you, his people, how can I refrain
from giving thanks to God for his election of you and for his
grace upon you? How can I refrain from calling
your name before God in prayer? You are obviously the objects
of God's great mercy, love, and grace. God, before the world
began, made a covenant of grace, a solemn compact of peace, by
which He arranged all our salvation through Christ our surety. According
to that covenant, He chose you. He chose you. He predestinated
you to be His sons and daughters. He accepted you in the beloved. The Lord God from eternity has
looked upon you with favor, with delight, with pleasure, with
satisfaction because of all the bounty of His grace that He gave
you in Christ before the world began. Added to that, the Lord
God sent His Son here. And through His precious blood,
He has redeemed you and forgiven you of all your sins. And then He tells us that God
has worked his wondrous providence for us in all things, arranging
all the affairs of time for our soul's good, governing and ruling
everything for our benefit, so that he comes to us in the day
appointed from eternity, the time of love, and called you. with His effectual grace, gave
you life in Christ, revealed Christ in you, created faith
in you, and having given you faith in Christ, sealed you in
His grace and sealed to you all the blessings of His grace. All
these things Paul knew to be the possession of all saints.
Now, please understand that. All the blessings of grace All
that God gives to sinners. All that God will ever give to
any sinner. God has given to you all his
people from everlasting. So that these things that he
mentioned in these first 14 verses are the common lot of God's people. The common salvation with which
we have been saved. And these things he knew to be
the possession of these Ephesians. Because these men and women were
saints of God. Sanctified. Made holy by God. How can you say that? He said,
I've heard. I've heard. Rumor has been spreading
about you. I've heard about you from many
quarters. I've heard about your faith and
love. Your faith in the Lord Jesus
and your love to all the saints. These two things, these two graces
always go hand in hand. Wherever you find one, you find
the other. Faith works by love and all God's
saints love one another. That's some statement. That's some statement. All God's
saints love one another. Not because we are particularly
likable. Not because we are distinctly
lovable. Not because we particularly like
things about one another. That's got nothing to do with
this love. That's got nothing to do with this love. This love
is not a love that is earned by us by something that other
folks do. And it's not a love that is put
off by us by something that others do. This love is a love of God's
saints for one another as God's saints. Now the fact is there
are a lot more saints in this world that I don't know than
there are that I do. But I love them all. I love them all. Is that true? Is that true? I have often said
it's fallacious for folks to stand up on television as religious
folks. Jesus loves you and we do too.
You don't love me if you don't know me. You can't love somebody you don't
know. That's just not possible. But pastor, you just told us,
I love all the saints and God's saints all love each other. Yes,
but not because of themselves. God's saints love one another
because all of them are saints. And being the saints of God,
they are Christ. They belong to Christ, members
of his body, one with him. And the saints of God love the
Savior. They love him and love his body. Yes, I am devoted to the comfort,
edification, welfare, the defense, the care of all God's saints
because God's saints belong to Christ my Redeemer. They are
one with him. David Coleman is one with Christ. One with Christ. Now he may not wear his shoes
the way I like the fellow to wear his shoes. And he may not
comb his hair the way I like to comb his hair. And he may
not talk with the same good southern drawl I like to hear from folks
from Alabama. But he's one with Christ. And that's all that matters
with regard to my love for him. That means it can't be broken.
It can't be hindered. It can't be taken away. We tend
to push things aside. make judgments about things that
we ought not make. We try to determine who's saved
and who's not saved. Don't do that. Don't do that.
And I know one reason why. I know one reason why. If Mark
Daniel gets to behaving in a way that I don't like, he starts
acting up, well, he just needs to get saved. That means I can
treat you like hell. I can be mean to you. He's not saved.
I'm going to have to treat him like a brother. Don't ever behave
in such a way. Those who believe on the Son
of God, those who believe on the Son of God are one with Christ
and are to be loved by us in just the way we love our Savior. What's that mean? What's that
mean? I love that woman. I love her. That involves passion and feeling
and all those things. No question about that. But this
is what that really means. I am utterly committed to her. To her good. To providing for
her. To taking care of her. To protecting
her. To honoring her. To serving her. That's what love is. That's what
love is. And all God's saints are utterly
committed to Christ. That means they're utterly committed
to one another. Turn to Philippians chapter 2.
Let me show you. I cease not to give thanks to
God for you, because you're Christ. I cease not to call your names
before the throne of grace. I do so relentlessly. because
you're Christ. I labor for your souls night
and day in the totality of my life because you're Christ. That's what Paul's saying here
and that's what I'm saying to you. Look in Philippians chapter
2. If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any
comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels
and mercies, tremendous statements Paul is talking about here. He's
talking about those things that move our hearts toward one another. Fulfill ye my joy that you be
like-minded, all of us, all of us, be like-minded, having the
same love, being of one accord, of one mind. What on earth is
he talking about? Let nothing be done through strife
or vainglory. Don't do things to please yourself. Don't do things to honor yourself. Don't do things to gratify yourself. Don't behave in a way that is
pulling things to you. Let nothing be done through strife
or vainglory. But in lowliness of mind, let
each esteem other better than themselves. I've said this so many times
and I haven't yet got said what Paul's talking about here. Larry Brown, my friend, my brother,
I like it. We're friends, been friends for
a long time, long time. But Larry has his faults. Kind of like his friend Don has
his faults. We just, we're frail, fickle,
sinful human beings. That's just fact. Larry and Don,
and that includes you too. That includes you too. But Larry
Brown is in Christ. He believes God. That means God
chose him. He's loved of God. That means
Christ redeemed him with his precious blood. That means he
died with the Son of God and rose again with the Son of God
and is seated on the throne of God with the Son of God in heaven,
one with Christ. Now, if I see something out of
sorts, That's not Larry. That's not
Larry. It really isn't. That's not Larry.
Oh, you don't know Don? Yeah, I do. That's not Don. That's not Don. Look yonder. That's Don Fortner. That's Larry
Brown. That's Lindsey Campbell. Is that
what this book teaches or isn't it? Is that what it teaches or
isn't it? Of course that's what it teaches.
Then let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus. Esteem your brother better than
yourself. Look not, verse 4, every man
on his own things. Oh, God teach me to do this.
but every man also on the things of others. Oh, for grace not to live for
my benefit, but for yours. Let this mind be in you, which
was also in Christ Jesus. This one who, being in the form
of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God, it wasn't
to him, like it is us, something to be sought after. For he is
equal with God. But this one, because of his
love for us, made himself of no reputation. He emptied himself
and took upon him the form of a servant and was made in the
likeness of men. And being found in fashion as
a man, he humbled himself and became obedient unto death, even
the death of the cross. to you, inspires me to pray for
you, and teaches me to love you. Grace given to me, inspires me
to pray for you, and teaches me to love you. Now secondly,
look at the first part of verse 16 and you will see something
else, verse 17 rather, You'll see how God the Holy Ghost inspired
the Apostle to speak to us of the God to whom we pray. This
is the God before whose throne I carry your names continually. He is the God of our Lord Jesus
Christ, the Father of glory. He who is our God, the God of
all grace, is the God of our Lord Jesus Christ. What can that
mean? What can that mean? Now, you
will have folks come to your door on Saturday morning, perhaps,
carrying a little black satchel and want to visit with you and
tell you that Jesus Christ is not God. He's just a God. He's
like God. Here's the passage. God is his
Father. He's the God of Jesus Christ.
He who is the God-man, our Savior. lived on this earth as God's
righteous servant. God our Father is the God our
Savior served while he walked on this earth in the form of
a servant. God, our Father, is the Father
of our Lord Jesus Christ, the God-man who redeemed us with
his own precious blood. He is the God our Savior trusted,
the God our Savior obeyed, the God our Savior honored, the God
of our Lord Jesus Christ. And this great God, the God of
all grace, is here called the Father of Glory. What a name
for God. The Father of Glory. He is the
glorious Father. He is glorious in Himself. Glorious in the perfections of
His nature. Glorious in all the works of
His hands. Brother Bobby just read for us
back in the office a little bit ago, Exodus 15, Moses' song as
children of Israel had crossed the Red Sea. Oh, how God is glorified
by all the wondrous works of His hands. As Christ's Father,
as the God and Father of the God-man, our Savior, He is a
glorious Father. He has been honored and glorified
by our Savior. And Christ, our Savior, received
honor and glory from Him. And oh, what a glorious Father
He is to us. To us he has shown and ever shows
indescribable everlasting mercy, love, and grace. Oh, what a great,
glorious Father our God is. He who is our God is called the
Father of glory because he's the author and the giver of grace
here and of glory hereafter. Now, in the latter parts of verses
17, 18, and 19, I want you to see in this third place my desires
for you. These are the things for which
I constantly pray on your behalf. Things I constantly ask God to
give you. I pause because I want you to
know this. I call your names and ask God
to do this for you. The things that I labor to see
brought to pass in your souls. That the God of our Lord Jesus
Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit
of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him. The eyes of
your understanding being enlightened, that you may know what is the
hope of His calling. What is the riches of the glory
of his inheritance in the saints? What is the exceeding greatness
of his power to us who believe according to the working of his
mighty power? I pray that God will give you
the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Christ. that
God will give you the spirit of Christ who is the wisdom of
God. That God will give you the spirit
of wisdom. Solomon's wisdom, as he was described
for us in the scriptures, or as he is described for us in
the scriptures, is wisdom of a carnal kind, certainly, by
which he excelled all who lived around him. All other men were
far inferior to Solomon in his wisdom. But Solomon's great wisdom
was not just carnal wisdom. Read the Proverbs. If that doesn't
convince you, read the book of Ecclesiastes. If that doesn't
convince you, read the Song of Solomon and understand that Solomon's
wisdom was spiritual wisdom. Oh, may God give you spiritual
wisdom, spiritual judgment. spiritual discernment, not just
knowledge of facts, but wisdom to understand the facts you have
knowledge of. I pray that God will give you
wisdom to live in this world, living wisely before men, wisdom
in your business, wisdom in your work, wisdom in your relationships,
but oh, may God give you wisdom in your soul to understand the
things of God. and walk before him in faith. The spirit of wisdom and revelation. The spirit of Christ Jesus the
Lord. That one who exemplifies for
us spiritual wisdom. Oh, what wisdom he possessed
on this earth. What wisdom he possesses now. He who is wisdom. Jesus Christ who is wisdom. by
whom God is revealed. He is the Word, the living Word
of God. He is God the Word. That word,
the translated word, it's an unusual word, but then again
not so unusual. If you want to know what's going
on in my mind, I know we jump to conclusions, we quickly Make
judgments. I know what you're thinking.
No, you don't. No, you don't. You don't ever know what I'm
thinking. You don't ever know what I'm thinking. Not unless
I open my mouth and tell you. That's the only way you know
what I'm thinking. The only way you know what's going on inside
me is if I form words and express to you what I'm thinking inside. And the only way you can know
God is by the word by which he reveals himself. And that word
is Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ, the incarnate God,
is the declaration of God, the revelation of God. He shows us
who God is, what God is like, how God works, what God does. Christ is the Word by whom God
is made known. Christ is revealed to us in this
written Word, but He is revealed to us in the written Word as
God gives us the spirit of wisdom and revelation to discern his
word, to know him, to know him. Turn to the book of Philippians
again, chapter three, Philippians chapter three. Finally, my brethren, Rejoice
in the Lord. To write the same things to you,
to me, indeed, is not grievous, but for you it's safe. Beware
of dogs. Beware of evil workers. Beware
of the concision. Beware of religious workmongers,
religious legalists. For we are the circumcision.
We are God's true covenant people, born again by His Spirit, circumcised
in the heart. which worship God in the spirit,
and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the
flesh. Though I might also have confidence in the flesh, if any
other man thinketh that he hath whereof, he might trust in the
flesh, I more. I was circumcised the eighth
day of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew
of the Hebrews, as touching the law of Pharisee. Concerning zeal,
nobody matched me. I persecuted the church. Touching
the righteousness which is in the law, nobody matched me. I
was blameless. But what things were gained to
me, I count but lost. I counted but lost for Christ. Yea, doubtless, and I count all
things but lost for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus
my Lord. For whom I have suffered the
loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win
Christ, and be found in him, not having my own righteousness,
which is of the law, but the righteousness which is through
the faith of Christ, the righteousness of God, which is by faith. Now
watch this. That I may know him. Oh, I want to know him. Paul had been walking with God
for years now. For years. He had been writing
by divine inspiration for years. And now as he comes near the
end of his life, he says, oh, that I may know him. You understand
that? One who is the object of your
love, you want to know. and you never are satisfied with
how you know them and what you know of them. You want to know
them, to know them. To know them with a continually
increasing experience of the knowledge of them. That's what
he's saying. Oh, Savior, cause me to know you. Cause these,
your people, to know you, to know you. And watch what he's
talking about. that I may know him and the power of his resurrection. Now that's not talking about
some kind of charismatic power so you can cast out devils and
heal the sick and speak in tongues and wallow around in the floor
and act like a fool. That's not talking about that stuff. What's
he talking about? The power by which Christ was raised from
the dead. I want to know him in the power of this resurrection
life. This life of freedom in Christ,
that's what I want for you, that you may know Him, the power of
His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings. I suppose, above all things,
in my study these many, many years, I spend more time studying
the sufferings of Christ and His glory than anything else. And the more I studied them,
the more I realized how little I understand about either. But
I want to know Him in the fellowship of His sufferings. That doesn't
mean to be empathetic with Him who suffered, though certainly
that's the case. That doesn't mean to feel his
sufferings, that I can't. It means I want to know my participation,
my interest in that which the Savior suffered for me. I want
to know all that's involved in me being nailed to the tree in
the God-man Christ Jesus. suffering all the fury of God's
wrath until justice was satisfied and my sin put away. I want to
know Him in the fellowship of His suffering. Now watch this,
watch this. Being made conformable to His death. This is the knowledge
I seek for you and seek for myself, that we may know Him who is the
wisdom and revelation of God, our Savior, and so growingly
know Him that it affects our lives and we're made conformable
to Christ in His death. Utterly committed to one another. Utterly committed to the welfare
of God's elect. committed to God our Savior,
utterly committed to the will of God, utterly committed to
the glory of God, that's what our Savior displayed in His death. God make you so to know Him. God make me so to know Him. The eyes of your understanding
being enlightened. That is being born again, given
eyes to understand, a mind to understand, eyes to see the things
of God. Eyes to behold the things of
God being made new creatures in Christ Jesus so that you can
see and enter into the kingdom of God. The eyes of your understanding
being enlightened by the new birth that you may know, that
you may know what is the hope of His calling. I want you to know that. The
foundation, the basis of our hope is Christ crucified. Christ is our hope. Our blessed
hope. Oh, the blessed hope of Christ's
glorious second advent. That's our blessed hope. The
expectation of eternal life. That's our blessed hope. But
here he's talking about the hope of his calling. That which gives
us hope. That which calls our hope in
the beginning is the call of His grace by which we are brought
to living union of faith with Jesus Christ the Lord and Christ
in you. What does the book say? The hope
of glory. That you may know Christ in you. The hope of glory. Having the
full assurance of faith because Christ has taken up residence
in you. Jesus Christ, the Son of God,
God our Savior, comes to chosen redeemed sinners at the time
appointed of God from eternity when He will call them by His
grace and Christ Himself lives in you. Christ liveth in me. Oh, what a salvation this, Christ
liveth me. God takes up residence in the
soul of man. Man who was dead now lives because
Christ who is life has come in and taken up residence in you. Now I want you to ever grow in
the blessed knowledge of this fact. You have been made partakers
of the divine nature. Christ has been given to you
and God will never take him away. This calling, this calling all
of which results in our life union of faith with Christ, this
calling is a gift of God for which there is never repentance,
He will never take it away. And I want you to know, I want
you to know the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the
saints. God make Make us to know, make
your people to know the riches of the glory of your inheritance
in the saints. What's that talking about? Perhaps there's a reference here,
surely there is, to the glorious rich inheritance that is ours
in Christ. Oh, what riches await us. So rich is our inheritance that
it's described as a city, as a kingdom, with mansions, with
gates of pearl, walls of jasper, and streets of gold. Now, I've
known some pretty wealthy folks in my time. I've never known
any who lived in a place like that. Well, Brother Don, you
surely don't think that's literal. Oh, no, it's much better than
that. Those things are just an allegorical description of the
riches, of the glory, of that inheritance awaiting us in heavenly
glory where we shall see His face and God will wipe away all
tears from our eyes and sickness and sorrow and death and pain
and tears shall be forever over because there will be no more
sin. and no more curse, and not even
a regret because of it. I can't begin to enter into that,
can you? I can't begin to enter into it. But this text is talking
about something even richer. This is talking about the riches
of the glory of God's inheritance in the saints. The riches of
the glory of His inheritance in the saints. is that? The Lord is my portion, saith
my soul, therefore will I hope in him. But Jacob is the Lord's
portion. Israel is his inheritance. And the Lord God here inspires
His Apostle, to write to His people and say, this is what
I pray for you. I pray that God, by His Spirit,
giving you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge
of Christ with your eyes wide open, that you may know the hope
of His calling and the riches of God's glory in His inheritance
in you. Look at chapter 2 of Ephesians.
Ephesians 2, verse 7. God quickened us by His grace,
saved us by the doing and dying of the Lord Jesus, gave us life
by His Spirit, that in the ages to come, He might show the exceeding
riches of His grace in His kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. Soon, the Lord God will stand
you before wandering worlds. And he will say to angels and
saints and all of hell, look here what my grace has done. See that in Mark Henson. See
my glory? Here it is. Imagine this. How
can we, how can we enrich God? That's impossible to think of. That's impossible to think of.
But when our Savior presents us, thoughtless before the presence
of His glory, Jude 25 tells us He will do so with exceeding
joy. The triune God, Father, Son,
and Holy Ghost rejoicing over you. rejoicing over me, all that
we may know, the riches of the glory of his
inheritance in us. Now look at verse 19. And what is the exceeding greatness
of his power to us who believe according to the working of his
mighty power? I want to know, and I want you
to know, an ever, ever, ever increase in this knowledge. The power by which we believe. The power that raised up Christ
from the dead is the power that gives faith. The power of God-given
faith. omnipotent power of God. That's true initially. When you first believe, you believe
because God raised you from the dead and by his power gave you
faith. When you first believe, it is
by the resurrection power of the omnipotent God who alone
gives life. But that's only the beginning. While we live in this world,
we constantly struggle with horrid unbelief. Is that true or isn't
it? We constantly struggle with horrid
unbelief. That which is most dishonoring
to God is that to which we are most inclined. not to believe
Him. And you never will under any
circumstances at any time except He who is the God of omnipotence
and of omnipotent grace gives you faith to believe. We believe Him not in accordance
with our will to believe Him. We believe Him not in accordance
with the mustering of power within us to believe Him. I just have
such strong faith. People who talk like that don't
have a clue what they're saying. No, no, no. If you believe Him
at any time, under any circumstance so that you rest comfortably
in God. It's because God stretches out
the hand of omnipotence and graciously causes us to believe. Now, here's
the fourth thing. I'll come back to it another
day, but let's look at it briefly. Here, the Spirit of God describes
for us the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. But don't miss
the context. Everything that we've looked
at so far, All the grace heaped upon us
in verses 1 through 14. And all this grace that we pray
God will ever give to you is in direct connection with the
glory of Christ. This power which He brought in
Christ when He raised Him from the dead and set Him down in
His own right hand in heavenly places. far above all principality,
and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that's named,
not only in this world, but also in that which is to come. Now,
if you want to read a lot of gobbledygook, that's a fancy
word, isn't it? Those gobbledygook is words that
don't mean a thing. If you want to read a lot of
words that don't mean a thing, read what men say when they try to
tell you what all these things represent. Because there's so
much confusion about them, I'm convinced nobody knows. What's
he talking about? All principality and power and
might and dominion. He's talking about every form
of power, authority, every form of might and rule, every form
of influence anybody has in heaven, earth, and hell. All the powers
of angels in glory. All the powers of demons in hell. All the powers of civil and social
rulers in the world. All the powers of men who have
positions of power over you. All the power of hell is subject
to Jesus Christ who sits on his throne. Everything. Everything. He who loved us and gave Himself
for us, sits on the throne of glory and has all power. He has entered into His rest. He's entered into His Sabbath
rest. He sits on the throne of glory
and everything is under His feet. Everything is under His feet.
Over at the house, I have a big, soft, comfortable, easy chair.
And when I sit down in that chair, there's just something naturally
in me that just inclines me to put my feet on the footstool
sitting in front of it. And I rest my feet on the footstool. That's the picture we're given
in Scripture of our Savior. He's seated on His throne, and
He rests His feet on everything else. He rests His feet on everything
else. Now God give me grace to believe
that. As much as God gives me grace
to believe that, I enter into His rest. And He's put all things under
His feet and gave Him the head over all things. He's the ruler,
he's the head of everything. Now this is not talking about
Christ being the head of the church, though that's true. And not that
old man in Rome, not that old man in London, and not this old
man here. No man, no mere man is the head
of God's church. Christ is the head of His church,
but that's not what this is talking about. He is the head. He's at the top of everything.
He's in control of everything. He's the master of everything.
He's the ruler of everything. He's the dispenser of everything. He is the disposer of everything
to his church. Everything he does, he does for
that church of which he is the head, and we are but members
of his body, which is his body. His body. Love to all the saints is but
love to Christ and his body, the church. And it's a remarkable
thing about the body. Every member of the body, every
member of the body, whether you're talking about these physical
things you see on the outside, your fingers and toes and ears
and eyes, mouth and nose, or you're talking about your heart
and your lung, your liver, Everything about the body, every member
of the body serves the whole body. Arranged by God's creative
hand and every member of Christ's church is to be nurtured and
cherished and loved by us because Christ put each member in the
body in perfect symmetry. Isn't that wonderful? He put
every one of us right where he would have us to best serve his
church, his body, and his glory. Not only is the church his body,
this church, his body, is the fullness of him that filleth
all in all. And let me tell you the significance
of that, and I'll wrap this up. As much as Oscar Bailey is a
member of Christ's body, Christ can never be complete if Oscar
Bailey is lost. He can never be complete if Oscar
Bailey is lost. Christ can never be complete
if even the least significant member of his body least significant
in the eyes of men. Not in his eyes. And God let
it not be in my eyes. For no member of the body is
insignificant. You ever had to lose a part?
No member is insignificant. No member is insignificant. Christ
will never be complete if one member of his body is missing. How secure are God's saints in
Christ? As secure as Jesus Christ is
on the throne of God. We are the fullness, the completion
of Him who is the completion of everything. Amen.
About Don Fortner
Don Fortner (1950-2020) served as teacher and pastor of Grace Baptist Church of Danville, Kentucky.
Pristine Grace functions as a digital library of preaching and teaching from many different men and ministries. I maintain a broad collection for research, study, and listening, and the presence of any preacher or message here should not be taken as a blanket endorsement of every doctrinal position expressed.
I publish my own convictions openly and without hesitation throughout this site and in my own preaching and writing. This archive is not a denominational clearinghouse. My aim in maintaining it is to preserve historic and contemporary preaching, encourage careful study, and above all direct readers and listeners to the person and work of Christ.
