22 If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin.
23 He that hateth me hateth my Father also.
24 If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father.
25 But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause.

I ask for your complete undivided
attention. I want for you to hear what I
have to say. This place is at the same time the most
blessed and the most dangerous place
in all the world. This is the most blessed and
the most dangerous place in all the world. Here the gospel of God's free
grace is preached to you. Plainly, clearly, distinctly,
many times every week. Some of you have been here in these services all
of your lives. Your mom and dad have seen to
it that you are here to hear the gospel. Let nothing interfere
with it. all your life. If God, by His grace, makes the
word of the gospel that you hear effectual to your soul and gives
you life and faith in Jesus Christ, oh, how blessed this place is
to you. Here, God speaks to you. Nothing more blessed. Nothing. I'd rather be here this hour
than be anywhere else in the world. I'd rather be here than be anywhere
else in the world with anyone else in the world. God just might
speak again. And if he does, I want to hear
it. The Lord Jesus may visit us again
this hour. If he does, I want to be present. Shortly after Doug and Faith
were married, two, maybe three years after they were married,
his father got ready to retire. Doug had been planning all his
life to take over his dad's business. Went to school, was educated
for it, prepared for it, and his dad ready now to give it
to him. But Doug had learned the gospel. And it was a struggle for them.
He wanted to go back and take over his dad's business, what
he wanted all his life. And finally, he came to the conclusion,
I can't do that. That mean raise my family away
from the gospel. That mean move away from the
place where I can worship God. Well, you can get tapes. That
won't do it. Well, we can visit once in a
while. That won't do it. That won't
do it. Too valuable. You're willing to give up what
you planned your whole life for? For Christ, I am. To know him, I am. For you to
know him, I am. For my family to know him, I
am. To worship him, I am. Yes, this is the most blessed
place in the world if God makes his word effectual to you if
God speaks to you by his word in this place. But this is also
the most dangerous place in the world. The hottest place of hell's everlasting
torment is reserved for you who hear but refuse to believe the
gospel of Christ. The hottest place of hell's everlasting
torment is reserved for you who hear the gospel, but willfully,
deliberately, persistently refuse to trust the Son of God. Oh, what a dangerous thing it
is for you to be raised in this place, in this congregation,
under the faithful preaching of God's free and sovereign grace
in Christ, if you stop your ears and shut your eyes and harden
your hearts and refuse to trust the Son of God. If you go to hell, run madly to hell, as it were
shoving God out of your way, I will not believe, I will not
bow to the Son of God. The hottest place in hell shall
be yours. Now you just try to forget that. Oh, I pray that God will make
it ring in your ears until your ears cannot stand anymore what
you hear. And you must, you are compelled,
you are forced by his grace to bow to his son. If the gospel you hear from this
pulpit Does it lift you to the highest heaven? I promise you
it will sink you to the lowest hell. I promise you, I promise
you, if God speaks his word through these lips to your heart, if
God speaks to you and you refuse to believe, I promise you, This
message will be your everlasting torment among the damned. This
word of the gospel will be to you a word of life or to you
a word of death. It won't be a matter of indifference.
It won't be something that's insignificant. If you go to hell,
with the gospel ringing in your ears, it would be better for
you never to have been born. If you go to hell with the gospel
ringing in your ears, it will be better for you never to have
been born. Brother Don, you're scaring me.
I want to. Knowing therefore the terror
of the Lord, we persuade men. It's high time somebody told
you, you better be afraid of God. Our God is a consuming fire. How dare you think of meeting
him with the next breath you draw being your last. It's high
time somebody told you, you better learn something of what it is
to tremble before God. Now, I hope I've got your attention.
Open your Bible to John chapter 15. We'll begin reading at verse
22. Oh, may God the Spirit give you
ears to hear, eyes to see, and hearts to believe the gospel
of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is my prayer, my heart's desire
to God for you, that you might be saved today. Today, if you
will hear his voice, harden not your heart. Oh, Holy Spirit of
God, come down. Visit us in grace and power today. Awaken poor, lost, helpless,
dead sinners. By your omnipotent mercy, give
them life and faith, eternal salvation in Christ the Lord. The Lord Jesus speaks, John 15
verse 22. If I had not come and spoken
unto them, they had not had sin. But now they have no cloak for
their sin. The Lord is not saying that they
became sinners by him speaking to them or by him coming. Obviously
not. The heart's deceitful above all
things and desperately wicked. Our Lord is talking about something
specific. The sin he speaks of here is the sin of Israel particularly. The sin of these religious Jews
in rejecting him, God's Messiah, God's King, the one sent, the
anointed one of God, promised in all the scriptures. If he
had not come in his incarnation, if he had not come and fulfilled
all their law and all their prophets, if he had not come with undeniable,
irrefutable proof of his person, They would not be under such
strong judgment for their particular sin of despising Him. But He
has come. He has come. He's come and given such proof
that He's the Messiah. Given such proof that He's the
one promised in the Old Testament. No one else in history No one
else at any other time in history could have fulfilled all that
was required that Christ should appear at this particular time,
at this particular age, in this particular point in time. No
one else could possibly fulfill those promises and prophecies.
Not only that, but by his wondrous works, he demonstrated himself
to be that one of whom the prophets spoke. And now, Their rejection
of him, their willful, deliberate denial of him is inexcusable. He came unto his own, and his
own received him not. Well, Brother Don, how does that
have any effect on us? Every person is responsible to
walk in the light God gives him. Say, but we recognize that God's
sovereign and faith is a gift of God. Yes, we do. And we recognize
that every person is responsible to walk in the light God gives
him. So plainly is that taught in
Romans chapters 1 and 2, that the Lord God says the heathen
who never heard the gospel, the heathen who never heard anybody
declare anything about redemption accomplished in Christ Jesus,
are without excuse because they could lift their eyes to the
heavens and know that God is. And they're responsible to walk
in that light because God has written on their hearts that
which is righteous and true. And they're responsible to walk
in that light. You mean folks could be saved
without hearing the gospel? Of course not. But men are responsible
to walk in the light God's given them. And if men go to hell because
they refuse the light of nature, oh, how dreadful it must be for
you to fall into the hands of the living God who had the full
revelation of God in Holy Scripture plainly declared to you in plain,
simple, easy to understand terms. Listen to this. He that being
often reproved, hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed,
and that without remedy. Well, you can't have it both
ways. That's inconsistent. I just wrote a letter to a friend
who was trying to make me consistent with some things just this past
week. And I said, I have no creed to
defend. No confession of faith to uphold.
No denomination to defend. No religious body that I must
answer to. I'm not about to bend for anybody
in any regard. And if men consider it inconsistent,
I'm perfectly comfortable with that. If I appear inconsistent
to you, that's of insignificance to me. Altogether so, I am concerned
that I be truthful to the word of God. And the Word of God makes
it plain that if you are saved, it is altogether God's doing. If you go to hell, it's altogether
your doing. The wages of sin. Wages, brother,
are never something you earn. The wages of sin is death. If you go to hell, it's your
fault. But the gift of God. That's something else. The gift
of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Turn back
to Proverbs chapter 1. Proverbs chapter 1. Hear God speak. Hear God speak. Verse 22. When you read the book of Proverbs,
don't make the mistake of reading it to learn earthly wisdom. That's not what it teaches. Certainly,
there is much earthly carnal wisdom to be derived from the
book, but that's not the purpose of the book of Proverbs. It's
not just to teach you moralisms. The book of Proverbs is to teach
you to know God, to know Jesus Christ, to know God's salvation
and grace in Jesus Christ. Proverbs chapter 1, verse 22.
How long, ye simple ones, will you love simplicity? And the
scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge. Hate knowledge. Not knowledge
of history and science and politics and mathematics. No, no, no. The knowledge of God. Fools hate
knowledge. The Lord God speaks. Turn you
at my reproof. Behold, I will pour out my spirit
unto you. I will make known my words unto
you. Turn at my reproof. I'll pour
out my spirit unto you. I'll make known my words to you.
But brother Don, a man can't turn unless God pours out his
spirit. I know that. I know that. God promises if
you turn, he'll pour out his spirit to you. I know that too.
But a man can't know God's words unless he causes him to know.
I know that. I know that. He won't turn unless
he knows God's words. I know that. I'm fully aware
of that. And I know that God promises if you turn, he'll cause
you to know his words. Read on. Verse 24. Because I have called. God calls
by two means. One is what we generally refer
to as a general call. I'm preaching to you this morning.
Everybody here is hearing my voice. If indeed I speak by God
and God speaks by me, God himself, by the word of the gospel, calls
sinners to him. Did you hear me calling you?
Paul said we are ambassadors for God as though God as though
God spoke to you by us, we pray you in Christ's name, be you
reconciled to God. I'm calling you to come to Christ. And as I do, God Almighty calls
you. But if all you hear is my voice, if all you hear is my voice, if all that stirs your heart
is what I can muster to stir, What you hear will be of no benefit
to your soul. Oh, but if God Almighty speaks
to your heart by the irresistible call of His Spirit, you will
come to Christ. You will hearken to His voice.
But it's your responsibility to do so. Look what it says. Because I've called. I've called. I've called, and you refused. I stretched out my hand, and
no man regarded. But ye have said it not, all
my counsel." Well, yeah, I heard that. Let's go play ball. Oh, I heard what the preacher
said. I want to make a million dollars. I heard that, I've got
other things to do. I might give some thought to
it later. You've said it not, all my counsel, and would none
of my reproof. Now notice the word, verse 24,
because. Now watch this, verse 26. Because
this is what you've done, I also will laugh at your calamity. I'll mock when your fear cometh. There may just come a time when
you'll decide, well, I'll trust Jesus. And God says, I'll laugh
at you. I recall hearing Rock Barnard
preach years ago about watching men die. He said, I remember
Dixie. Dixie is dance hall queen. He
said, I preached the gospel to Dixie many times. pleaded with
Dixie many times to trust the Savior. And one night, I got
a call. Dixie wanted to see me. She was
laying on her bed dying, and she knew it. She called the preacher.
And Ralph said, I went up to see her, and I preached the gospel
to her again. And I said, Dixie, I've said
this to you many times. Repent. Repent, Dixie. Trust the Savior. And he said,
she looked at me and said, my God, preacher, I can't repent. You mean God shuts folks out
of heaven while they still live? That's what he said. When did
God shut the door to that ark? Before one drop of rain fell.
Before one drop fell. Read on. Read on. Verse 27, when
your fear cometh as a desolation and your destruction cometh as
a whirlwind, when distress and anguish cometh upon you, when
you're scared to death of going to hell, then shall they call
upon me, but I will not answer. They shall seek me early, but
they shall not find me. For that they hated knowledge.
and did not choose the fear of the Lord. They would none of
my counsel. They despised all my reproof.
Therefore, now watch this. If you go to hell, therefore,
they shall eat the fruit of their old ways and shall be filled
with their own devices. The undying worm, the fire that
cannot be quenched is but to eat the fruit of your own way
and to be filled forever with your own devices. John 15, 23. He that hateth me, Hated my father also. Here it is December 19th and
the whole world singing Christmas carols and they love the baby
Jesus and you listen to the news and folks fight and squabble
because people want to say happy holidays rather than Merry Christmas.
They fight and squabble because they want to take Christmas out
of the schools and not have Santa Claus plays and all the nonsense
that goes with it. fight and squabble over the baby
Jesus in nativity scenes. Isn't it so sweet to see the
nativity scenes and the live nativity scenes are so good until
the camera falls on the baby. Everybody thinks they love Jesus,
the baby Jesus. But when the gospel of God's
grace is preached and Christ is set forth in his glorious
character of our God and Savior, our Redeemer, our almighty, efficacious
mediator and substitute, then men are in a rage. And let me
tell you something. Anyone who despises Jesus Christ
as he is set forth in the gospel of God's grace, despises God. There are folks, Mormons, despise
Christ. They despise him. They deny that
he's God. That means they hate God. It
means they hate God. Buddhists despise Christ, deny
his deity. That means they hate God. There
are multitudes, not just Mormons and Buddhists and Campbellites
and so Jehovah Witnesses, folks who deny that Jesus Christ is
God. Multitudes denying the efficacy
of his blood. suggesting and declaring that
he tries to save and redeem people who are damned at last, deny
that Jesus Christ is God. And denying that he's God, they
prove that they hate God. If you loved the father, you'd
love the son also. Verse 24. If I had not done among them
the works which none other man did, They had not had sin, but
now have they both seen and hated both me and my father. Joel and
the other prophets spoke about the Messiah coming. When he comes,
tell you what he's going to do. Tell you what he's going to do.
He's going to heal the sick. He's going to cause the deaf
to hear and the blind to see and the lame to walk. and widows
shall receive their dead back from the dead again. The gospel
shall be preached to the poor. That's the sign that the Messiah
is here. We live in this charismatic day.
Everybody and his brother claims to have apostolic gifts, and
they all like to show off their gifts. They talk about talking
in tongues. Talking in tongues as it was
described in Acts chapter 2 is not Flopping your tongue around
in your jaws making noise. It's speaking in a language.
You've never been taught Speaking in a language. You've never heard
every man heard the gospel that day in his own language. They
were just Making noise and that's no indication that these folks
are Apostles or had the gifts of the Apostles or we heal the
sick Brother Sammy said to me the other day, I didn't realize
this, he was involved in that nonsense with his boy. Talking
about a fellow laying their hands on him. He said a fellow laid
his hands on me one time and told me to receive the spirit
and said nothing happened. And he laid his hands on me again,
nothing happened. And he hit me pretty good, nothing happened.
Finally, he took a hymn book and knocked me dead. Am I lying, Sammy? Oh, now you got the spirit. pretense
it's fake and it's satanic. A sure sign of Satan's messengers
these days is that they pretend to be the apostles of Christ
and they pretend to have apostolic gifts and even if they have such
fake gifts so that they could actually heal the blind They
could actually heal the death if they had those gifts that
still doesn't change anything They receive their power from
Satan and not from God read the second chapter of second Thessalonians
It's as plain as the nose on your face just as plain as it
can be But when John the Baptist sent his disciples to the master
And said art thou the Christ and look we for another You remember
what the Lord Jesus said to him? He said, you go tell John the
lame walk, and the blind see, and the deaf hear, and the dead
are raised up, and the poor had the gospel preached unto them.
In other words, he's saying, you go tell John that the prophets
have been fulfilled. You go tell John, you've seen
the Messiah and it's proof of it by his works. Our Lord says
here, if I hadn't come and done these works, then they'd have
some excuse for not believing me. By his works and by his words,
by the gospel he preached, the Lord Jesus was evidently set
forth before this generation as the Christ of God, yet they
despised him. Therefore, they're without excuse. Did you hear that? Did you hear
that? Has the Lord Jesus been made
evidently set forth before you? Has he made it clear to you?
Undeniably clear. Irrefutably clear. Unmistakably
clear. that He is the Christ of God,
the Lamb of God, the Savior of the world. Are those facts, facts
that you fully recognize and acknowledge? If they are, your
unbelief is inexcusable. Verse 25. We see man's sin everywhere,
everywhere. It's in our newspapers, on television
every day. Murder. Rape. Incest. Adultery. Fornication. Sodomy. Pedophilia. Terrorism. Everywhere. Everywhere. Everywhere. All these
evils we look at with utter disgust crying out for law and justice
and our marvelous indignation against such. But if you want
to see the evil of depraved humanity most fully, you'll find it sitting right
beside you. You find it most plainly set
before you in verse 25. But this cometh to pass, that
the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law. They
hated me without a cause. That's a direct quote from Psalm
35. and from Psalm 69 that we read earlier. When we think about
the sin of our fallen race, we ought always to think of it in
terms of deicide. Here is the essence of sin. It's
the murder of God. It's the murder of God. because of his hatred for his
creator, nailed the son of God to a cross, and threw a hellish
party as they watched him die. That's the master crime of hell-bent
humanity. That's the pinnacle of human
guilt. Sin outdid itself when it slew
the Lord of glory. who came on earth to die in the
place of fallen men. Never does sin appear so exceedingly
sinful as when we see it nailing the Lamb of God to the cursed
tree, whom it hated without a cause. Let me make just three or four
statements and I'll wrap this up. Number one, this came to pass by the will
of God. This cometh to pass that the
word might be fulfilled that is written in the law. They hated
me without a cause. That's what's written in the
word. They hated me without a cause. It's written back in Psalm 39,
written in Psalm 69, written again here. Three times we read
in the book of God, they hated me without a cause. Times is
plainly declared. They hated me without a cause
and our Lord Jesus standing here before his disciples Says to
his disciples be assured now. I'm telling you I am he of whom
the prophets speak They hated me without a call And the reason
I'm about to be nailed to that tree outside the gates of this
city and mocked and derided as a cursed man is because this
is the will of God." After he said, they hated me without a
cause, he said, then restored I that which I took not away. Those wicked men did exactly
what they wanted to do. They nailed up the Son of God
to the cursed tree because that's what they wanted. They spit in
his face because they wanted to spit in his face. They jerked
out his beard because they wanted to jerk out his beard. They beat
him with their fist because they wanted to beat him with their
fist. They mocked him. They derided him. They joined
together Pharisees and prostitutes, men and women, rich and poor,
old and young from every walk of society and through this hellish
party and laughed as they watched him die. Why? because they hated him, because
they wanted him to die. They hated him exactly as God
said they would, and hung him up to die. And when they did
so, they fulfilled all the scriptures. The book says we're to part his
garment. Let's part his garment. What else? I mean, it's as though
they'd just taken a concordance and looked up the scriptures,
and what are we supposed to do next? And when they'd fulfilled everything
that was written concerning him, they took him down from the tree.
And thus the Lord Jesus died in the room instead of his people
by the hands of wicked men. nailed to the cursed tree, a
sacrifice lifted up to God, accepted by God Almighty as our sacrifice,
our surety, our substitute, accepted by God as that one who's restored
that which he took not away, accepted by God as satisfaction
for sin, accepted by God as perfect righteousness brought in, in
all his obedience to the Father, according to the will of God.
but their hatred of him was without a cause. Never was there one so lovely,
so lovable, so delightful as the Son of God, the God-man,
our Savior. The doctrine he taught was pure
doctrine. The character of this man's life
was without a fault. His conduct was without any flaw
or failure of any kind. He walked on this earth as a
man who loved men. A tender-hearted, compassionate
man. A man who never had a passion
of anger that raised up in him uncontrollable, vehement anger
The only time he was angry with men was in the cause of the glory
of God. That wasn't a passion, that was
a determination. A man whose heart was never cold
and icy and indifferent. A man who fed multitudes, cared
for them, and was gracious and kind to them. When the folks
were hungry, he gave them food. When they were thirsty, he gave
them water. When they wanted wine, he gave
them wine. He was a tender, gracious man. No one could find any fault with
anything he ever did or anything he ever said. Nothing. Nothing. He didn't slip up. He didn't
make mistakes, not in conduct or in word. Always perfect. the righteous man, the only righteous
man who ever lived. And his righteousness is ours. His righteous obedience is our
obedience to the father. So that we come to God and offer
God that which God himself requires in the person of his son. Turn
back to Genesis. Let me find it here. I was reading
this yesterday or the day before Genesis 30. Let's see. Jacob goes to meet Esau and When
he finally meets his brother Esau, I'm sorry Jacob goes in
before his father for his father Israel Remember and this is Genesis
27 It was said to Rebecca the elder shall serve the younger
There's no indication that that Israel ever knew it no indication
that that Isaac, that is, ever knew what
was going on when God spoke these words to Rebekah. But Rebekah
understood that the birthright's Jacob's, not Esau. She understood
that Jacob was the chosen object of God's favor, not Esau. And
when Isaac was about to die and he said to his son Esau, he said,
you go get me some venison and make me some stew like I really
like. And I want to bless you before
I die. Rebekah heard it and she said
to Jacob, hurry up, son, go get a kid. And I'll make some stew
for you. Kind of stew your daddy loves.
We'll put skins on your arms and go in that you may be blessed
of your father through whom the blessing is given. And Jacob
went in. In Jacob's case, Jacob's acting
deceitfully. But Jacob did just exactly what
you and I do when we come to God. Look at Genesis 27, verse
19. Jacob said unto his father, I
and he saw thy firstborn. How does a sinner come to Christ?
I come to you, my father, in the person of your son. I am
Christ, your firstborn. I have done according as thou
badest me to do. You said, walk before me and
be holy. You said, walk before me and be perfect. For I, the
Lord your God, am holy, I'm perfect. I've done what you said for me
to do. Arise, I pray thee, sit and eat of my venison, receive
now what I bring to you, that thy soul may bless me. And so the Lord God accepts us
in Christ Jesus, not being deceived like Isaac was, but rather accepts
us in Christ Jesus as one with his Son. The Lord Jesus did all
these things on behalf of sinful men, such as we are, and never
one thing to injure a man. His doctrine was pure doctrine.
The law that he came to uphold and maintain is acknowledged
by all sane men in the world. Now, I realize we've got some
politicians who are insane, and I don't hesitate to tell you
publicly, and they can do with it what they want to or anybody
else can. Those who deny this are insane. They're madmen. They're
madmen like all men are who don't know God. The law that our master
taught by all sane men was acknowledged to be good and best for men. What's best for men? What could
be better for men than that men live by God's commandments? What
could be better? And yet, The Lord Jesus says,
they hated me without a cause. Why did they hate him? Why? Had no reason to. They hated
him because of the works that he did. What was it he did that
enraged them? I don't remember anyone getting
upset with him turning water into wine. I don't remember anyone getting
upset that he multiplied loaves and fishes. Do you? I don't remember
anyone getting upset because the Lord Jesus performed any
of his other miracles except his miracles of great mercy which
led to him declaring, thy sins are forgiven thee. That's all. When they brought
that adulterous woman in and wanted her stoned to death, and
the Lord said, neither do I condemn thee, go and sin no more, they
saw red. When our Lord forgave the Gadarene,
they were upset. When our Lord Jesus spoke to
that woman who came behind Him and washed His feet with her
tears, anointed Him with that ointment of very precious and
wiped His feet with the hairs of her head, and the Lord Jesus
spoke to her graciously, they despised Him. They despised Him. Because they thought He broke
their Sabbath day. They didn't understand the Sabbath
was made for mercy, not for misery. They didn't understand. He ate
without washing his hands. He sat down at the table and
actually ate his cornbread and brown beans and onions without
saying a prayer, without saying a blessing, without going through
a religious ritual. Look at him. He breaks our customs. He doesn't go along with our
traditions. Somebody asked me a while back
about our traditions. I said, if I can find one, I
break it. Traditions, religious or otherwise,
if I can find one, I break it. The Lord Jesus, he ate with unwashed
hands. He actually healed men on the Sabbath day. And he told the Jews that salvation
is God's sovereign work. He had mercy on whom he will
have mercy. He comes and he says, the Spirit of the Lord is upon
me. He sent me to preach the gospel. He opened the scriptures,
Luke chapter 4. He said, God didn't send his prophet to the
Jews when there was a drought in the land. He sent his prophet
down to a lonely widow of Srepta. God didn't send his prophet to
the Jews. He sent his prophet to that poor widow who had to
make him some bread and took care of him. He didn't send his
prophet to the Jews. He sent his prophet to a Syrian
leper. And he declares he has mercy
on whom he will have mercy. And the Jews were enraged. He
spoke of himself as the good shepherd, giving his life for
the sheep. And they took up stones to stone
him. Why? Because they understood what
he taught. They understood it. They heard his word and they
hated him. Thou being a man, make us thyself
God. And they killed him for it. They
took him. And when it shoved him off the
hillside, they took up stones to stone him because they hated
him without a cause. Even when they wanted to take
him by force and make him a king. It was only so they could get
what they wanted from him. It wasn't because they loved him.
It wasn't because they wanted him as king. It was because they
wanted him to make them somebody to rule over the nations of the
world. Politics in that day kind of like politics today. They
wanted him because of what they could get out of him. But he
wasn't a politician. They hated me without a cause. Here's the third thing. as the
Lord Jesus was hated without a cause. That's how God saves sinners,
without a cause. He said, I will love them freely,
without a cause. We're justified freely, without
a cause, by his grace, through the redemption that's in Christ
Jesus. He despaired not His Son, but delivered Him up for us all.
How shall He not with Him also? Freely, without a cause, give
us all things. You mean, Brother Don, God saves
sinners without any cause in them? That's it. That's it. And that's why the Pharisees
hated Him. In John chapter 6, the Lord Jesus has thousands of people following
him. Thousands of people. They ate
the loaves and the fishes, and they wanted more loaves and fishes.
Thousands of people following him. And he began to preach the
gospel to them. He told them salvation is not
by works, it's by faith. It's not by doing something for
God, it's by trusting Him who's done everything for sinners.
Salvation is not by your will but by God's will. Salvation
is not by you deciding to let Jesus be your Lord. It's by God
conquering your heart. Salvation is not by you learning
something but by God teaching you something. Salvation is by
God the Holy Spirit. It's the spirit that quickeneth
the flesh profiteth nothing. And they hated him and turned
and walked no more with him. They hated him without a cause. And that's how God saves sinners. If he saves you, and listen to
me, if he saves you, he won't find any cause in you for doing
it. No cause in you. no cause in
you. And if God Almighty saves you
by His grace, you who now hate our Savior,
because your carnal mind is enmity against God, will find yourselves
loving Him. unto you therefore which believe
he's precious. We love him because he first
loved us. I'm talking to you about free
salvation. Oh, may God give it you for Christ's
sake. Amen.
