1 John, the first chapter, the
first verse, that which was from the beginning, which we have
heard, which we have seen with our eyes,
which we have looked upon and our hands have handled, the Word
of life, the Son of God, the Word made flesh, our Lord Jesus. For the life was manifested and
we've seen it. We've seen it. And bear witness
and show unto you that eternal life which was with the Father
and was manifested unto us. With the Father for everlasting.
Manifested unto us in time. And that which we've seen and
heard, we declare unto you that you also may have fellowship
with us And truly, our fellowship is with the Father, with His
Son, Jesus Christ. And these things write we unto
you, these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full,
and more full, and more full. Now turn to the fifth chapter,
the same This is a book where John so many times said, we know,
we know, we know. Not something we speculate about.
I said, we know, we know. We know we've passed from death
unto life because we love each other. We love the brethren.
Now look at chapter 5 and verse 9. There are three that bear
witness in earth, the spirit, the water, and the blood, and
these three agree in one. If we receive the witness of
men, the witness of God is greater. For this is the witness of God,
which he hath testified of his Son. Now listen to these words
carefully. I had a friend one time who went
to a hospital, a dying woman with cancer, and her relatives
had asked us if he'd go visit her and talk to her about her
soul. And this is where he went, to this passage right here. He
that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself.
He that believeth not God hath made him a liar, because he believeth
not the record that God gave his Son. the testimony of God concerning
his son. And he walked to this woman's
room and asked her if she had a Bible. And she said, yes. He
said, can you read? She said, yes. He said, open
it up right here. And this next verse he asked
her to read out loud, this dying woman. This is the record, God's
word, God's testimony. This is the truth. This is the
record that God has given to us eternal life. And this life
is in His Son. Do you understand what you read?"
She said, I think so. He said, read the next verse.
This is the record that God has given us eternal life, and this
life is in His Son. He is life. He that hath the
Son hath life, because the Son is that life. And he that hath
not the Son of God hath not life. Now how more clear can you be
than these words of God concerning His Son? This is God's record
that He gave His Son, and when He gave His Son, His Son is eternal
life. And if you have the Son, you
have life. Now these things have I written unto you that believe
on the name of the Son of God, that you may know. You here this
morning, you believe on the name of the Son of God. These things
are written that you might know that you have eternal life, that
you may believe on the name of the Son of God. Keep on believing
and believe more strongly and have confidence and assurance
in the Lord Jesus Christ. Because what you believe is the
truth. What you believe is the testimony of God concerning His
Son. And this is the confidence we
have in Him if we ask, anything according to His will, He hears
us. And if we know that He hears
us whenever we ask, we know that we have the petition that we
desired of Him. Now, if any man see his brother
sin, a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask and he shall
give him life. He shall ask and he shall give
him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto
death. I do not say that he shall pray.
for that sin. Now all unrighteousness is sin,
and there is a sin unto death. We know, there's that word again,
we know. We're not speculating. We know
that whatsoever or whosoever is born of God sinneth not. But he that is Begotten of God,
keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not. He isn't
dominated by sin. Grace hath dominion over him.
And we know that we are of God." Now listen to this. We know that
we are of God. Boy, there have been times in
my life I'd just give most anything if I could just know. I believe
it, but I need to know. The psalmist wrote one time,
I don't care what other folks say, what the preacher says.
You say unto my soul, just tell me, I am your salvation. That
will be enough. Betty, that's enough, isn't it?
If God just tells us, I am your salvation. Say unto my soul,
I am thy salvation. We know that we are of God, and
the whole world laughs in wickedness. I think I know that quite well.
If I do, it's because I've been taught of the Lord. And we know
something else. We know that the Son of God has
come, that the eternal Son of God came into this world, manifested
in the flesh, born of a woman, born under the law to redeem
us from the curse of the law. We know that. We know it well. And He has given us, and this
is the only way you'll ever have it, He has given us an understanding
That we may know Him that is true, and we're in Him that is
true. We're in Him that is true. Even
in His Son, Jesus Christ. This is true God. And this is
eternal life. Knowing the Son of God. This
is life eternal, John 17, verse 3. This is it. There's no room
for argument or debate. These are the words of Christ
Himself. This is life eternal, that they might know Thee, the
only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom Thou hast sent. This is
life eternal. That's it. Now, little children,
keep yourselves from idols. And amen. Often, I stand here
and bring out, during a message, I bring out The things we need
to be aware of. Be aware of false prophets. They're
everywhere. Be aware of they don't believe
every spirit. Test every spirit by the Word
of God. Tonight, today, I want us to
consider this one thing. I want us to consider ourselves. The Bible said examine yourself
whether you be in the faith. That's me and that's you. Examine
yourself whether you be in the faith. Unless Christ dwells in
you, you're reprobate. That's what Paul said. He said,
give diligence, brethren, to make your calling and election
sure. Make sure. Examine yourselves. Now, I have
a sincere interest in so many things that go on in the world.
I have some interest in our political system and government. And I
have interest in I started to say morality, but
it's immorality in our day. It's just immorality. I'm interested. That concerns me greatly. I have
grandchildren growing up in this mess. I'm interested in these
things, and I have a very sincere interest. According to what I
see and know and understand, it affects me in different ways
because I have an interest in it. And I'm concerned and interested
in the well-being of our country, especially spiritually. I pray
that God every day, I pray God send us an awakening. Raise up
a preacher someplace who believes this book and preaches it and
give men ears to hear. An awakening. Once again, men
may fear the Lord and call upon the name of the Lord and give
Him the glory. Now, I'm interested in the kingdom of Christ throughout
the world as far as I can see and know of it. That's the reason
I go in other places and preach, and other men come here to preach.
That's the practice of the New Testament. It seems that when
other men come here and preach, it's a blessing and it's an encouragement.
And when I go other places and preach, it seems to be the same.
Blessing, and so that's our practice. And it's because we're, it's
an obedience to God, it's because we have an interest in the people
of God, wherever they are, whoever they are, whatever color they
are. Remember, I went to Africa and stayed about three weeks
and just pleaded with the people and taught them as best I could.
And it was a great blessing to them, I think. But that's why
we travel from place to place and preach the Word of God, preach
the Gospel. It's an encouragement to God's
people who said, Comfort ye, comfort ye my people. Comfort
my people. And it's because the preachers
are given to the church. All the preachers are given to
the church. And this is what we do. But there's one thing
that I can't help but be more interested in than anything else
in this world. And that's my own spiritual condition. My own spiritual condition. You
know the health problems that I have had and what I still have. You wake up and your heart's
hurting and you have concerns. Well, I wake up in the morning.
Should I go to the hospital? What should I do? And you think
about dying. So I'm interested in my condition. Interested in your condition
spiritually. Look at Acts 20 just a moment. And this is scriptural. This
is scriptural. Acts chapter 20 and verse 28,
Paul writes to these, or talks to these elders from Ephesus,
and this is what he tells them, part of it. He says in verse
28, he says, You take heed unto yourselves and all the flock
over which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the
church of God which he hath purchased with his own blood. Because Paul
said, I know this. You know it too. I know this.
That after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among
you, not sparing the flock, and also of your own selves shall
they raise up from their own selves. Take heed to yourselves
and to the flock of God. Take heed to yourselves and to
the church. Now look, if you will, at 1 Timothy
chapter 4. Look what we find here, 1 Timothy
chapter 4, verse 16. Paul tells this young
preacher, he said, take heed to yourself now, and unto the doctrine, the teachings
of the Word of God. Continue in the doctrine, for
in doing this, Thou shalt both save thyselves and them that
hear you. Lay hold of eternal life. Take
heed to the doctrine. Take heed to those to whom you
preach. Examine yourselves. Believe and
keep on believing. Now, it should be the primary
concern of every professed believer and every preacher to follow
these scriptural examples. Take heed to yourself, and in
doing so you save yourself and others. Don't follow divers'
doctrines. Take heed to yourself the doctrine
of Christ, the testimony of God concerning His Son. My strongest
desire for me and for you is that we may know and rejoice
in the Lord our God, that your joy may be more full as you live
out your days in this world, that your joy may be more full.
Nehemiah said, your strength, the joy of the Lord, that's your
strength. That's your strength, that we may know and be assured
of our interest in the Lord Jesus Christ. A doubting, fluctuating,
vacillating mind and heart doesn't know any joy but anxiety and
misery. And I speak that by experience.
I've been there. I know what it is to be anxious
about my soul, wonder if I'd really saved or just believed
all these things in vain. Whether I believed them in my
head or whether they were in my heart. Whether they were living
words or whether they were just words of doctrine. I want to
know. And I want you to know. I want
us to know and know that we know that we have eternal life in
the Lord Jesus Christ. Not be filled with anxiety and
misery. But the joy of the Lord be our
strength, rejoicing in God, trusting in God, resting in God, waiting
on God, hoping in God. That's joy. That's joy. How can we know, you and I, how
can we know that our souls are secure both now and forever?
How can we know and know that we know? That's what John writes
about. that our joy may be more full.
How can we as believers have this confidence, this assurance,
and this joy in the Lord? How can we? Well, the solemn
fact is that you and I need to know because we are only one breath
away from death. Just one breath. One breath. One small, invisible, microscopic
germ could take us out of this world in a moment. You realize that? One physical malfunction, day
or night, we're going out to meet the Lord. Each day in this country some
old and some young die, do not live to see the sunset that day. Thousands of them. And each night in this country
some old and some young, they live through the night and await
to see a new sunrise. All because God preserved them. God preserved them. David said, I will lay me down
to sleep and wake up the next morning because God kept me alive. God only. God only. We are in the hands of the Lord. Only the Lord keeps us alive.
In Daniel 5, verses 22-28, you remember the testimony of the
prophet Daniel concerning Belshazzar. He said, you saw all the things
that God did to your father Nebuchadnezzar. You saw it. How God brought him
down when he lifted himself up. How God put him out in the field
with the animals when he lifted himself up. And yet, knowing
all of this, You have blasphemed God. You have not given God the
glory. And to make matters worse, you've
taken the vessels, the holy vessels out of the temple to use in your
wine feast, wine fest. And you've done this against
the God in whose hand your next breath is. And I'll tell you the answer
you're to dream. You've been weighed in the balances and you've
come up short. And tonight you're going to die."
And he did. And he did. My friends, you and
I need a saving interest in Christ more than anything else in this
world. And we need to know that we know
that we know. We need to know. We need assurance. We need confidence. And we'll
have this joy in the Lord. This joy in the Lord. I'll tell
you, pretty soon, I won't be with
you anymore. I'm going to die. I'm going to
leave this world. David said, Peter said, I'm going to put
off this tabernacle. I'm going to leave. Paul said,
I'm ready to be offered up. I'm going to leave. I'm going
to leave. Y'all are going to leave. We
don't know when, whether we'll reach the winter of our lives
or whether we won't. We may die in the very springtime
of life, but we need to be assured because our foot shall slide
in due time. Into the grave. Into the grave. One of these days I know from
the scriptures that Christ is coming again. The trumpet's gonna
sound. There'll be a loud shout. We'll
see Him. We'll see Him. And I know this world's gonna
end. And let me tell you this, in
light of all that I've said, We're going to die. We're going
to leave this world. We're not going to live forever.
And when we stand before the Lord, the only thing, the only
thing that will make any difference in that hour, are you accepted
of God? Am I accepted of God? Will God
say unto me, Enter thou into the joy of thy Lord? Or will
I hear those words, Binding hand and foot, Cast him into outer
darkness. Oh, my soul. To be accepted of
God right now. To have no condemnation right
now. And to know it so. To live in
light of that truth. What would He say to me right
now? Enter thou into the joy of thy Lord, or cast him out." One or the other, he's going
to say. Is there ever one of us here? Let's settle this issue today.
If we can, by the grace of God, by the Spirit of the living God,
let's settle this issue right now, today. A guilty sinner,
resting his or her soul in the Lord Jesus Christ, should bring
assurance to the believing soul. Believing assurance. Believing
unto life and assurance. Confidence in the Lord Jesus
Christ. We ought to be able to say like
the Apostle Paul, I know whom I have believed. I really know
him. And I'm persuaded that He's able
to keep that which I've committed unto Him against that day. Resting
everything in Him with confidence and assurance. Joy. Joy. Now, there are several things
involved in the salvation of one's soul, but I have four points
I want to make this morning. They're very simple. Salvation
is simple. Men make it complicated. But
it's really very simple. Paul told Corinthians that I
fear lest he that beguiled Eve back in the garden beguile you
and you be removed from the simplicity of Christ. Simplicity of Christ. Don't try to make things complicated. Just receive the plain, clear
testimony of the Word of God. The first point I have to make
is What do we need to give assurance to our souls? The first point
I have to make is this. One must know the truth of the
God of the Bible and know that he knows the truth, that what
he knows is the truth. And God's people can know because
they're all taught of God. They're all taught of God. The
Bible said in 1 John chapter 2, verse 20, You have an unction
from the Holy One. You know some things. It says
you know all things, but that means all things in the context
that you cannot be deceived. Cannot be deceived. It's not just a plain, clear
testimony of God. It's the living Word of God,
made alive in your heart by the Word of God, by the Spirit of
God. On this point, I am convinced
beyond any doubt or dispute that I know who God is. I'm not deceived
about who God is. I know that the God I hear preached
in our day is not the God of this world. I know that. By the
grace of God, I know that. Most people don't, but thank
God I know that. God is not this God, my God.
He's not trying to do anything whatsoever. His sole desire. That's exactly what he does.
Job 23, verse 13. And that's given in the context,
spoken in the context of all those terrible things that happened
to Job. Job said he's a one man who can
turn Him. And whatever his soul desires,
that's what he does. The heathen come to David and
say, where's your God? Why should the heathen say, where
now is your God? David said, My God, where He's
always been, He's in the heavens doing whatever He pleases. Psalm
115, Psalm 135. Daniel chapter 4. He doeth according to His will
in the army of heaven among the inhabitants of this earth, and
none can stay His hand or question what He does. That's my God. That's the God of this book.
He's not trying to do anything. If He was, He wouldn't be God.
But because He is God, whatsoever His soul desires, that's exactly
what He does. That's the God I believe in.
That's the God I trust. That's the God I approve of.
That's the God I love. I'm happy that it's that way.
I wouldn't want a lesser God, would you? I sure wouldn't. I
wouldn't want a lesser God. I know the facts. I know the
essential truth of the true and living, eternal God set forth
in this book. That's how I know Him, from the
Scriptures. I know that He's a sovereign creator, that He's
a sovereign preserver and benefactor, and one day He'll be my sovereign
judge in His Son, the Lord Jesus. I know that. I know one day.
Just as plain as I know anything in this world, one day I'm going
to stand before this God that I've talked to you about this
morning, who is so holy that sin is odious and despicable
to Him, and so just that He can by no means clear the guilty.
And I have got to stand before Him. Well, we must know Him while
we live down here. We must know Him while we live
down here. Let no one talk to me about another God. I've been
to the potter's house. I know a few things about the
God of this book. Any question raised about Him,
I can answer quickly from the Scriptures, His own Word. And I approve of God as He's
revealed in the Scriptures. I don't know very much about
Him because He's infinite and I'm finite. But I do know some
facts about Him. I do know some facts about Him.
I know that He's God. I know that He's holy and just
and good. Whatever He does is right. And this knowledge comforts me.
That comforts me, Betty. Number two, secondly, we must
know who God is if we're to be saved. And if we're to comfort
our souls, we comfort ourselves in the truth of God, as He revealed
in this book. And we must know, secondly, in
His light, we must see ourselves as we are. There are men who
talk about sin as if they were bragging. They talk about what
they used to do and what they were and all that. I'm interested
in what you are right now, what you are by nature. Born into
this world, David, my sin is ever before me. Paul said, in
me, that is in my flesh, there is nothing good. Sin is not just
what we do with our hands and our feet. Sin is in the heart.
The hands do wrong because the heart's wrong. The mouth speaks
wrong because the heart's wrong. And David said concerning, I
mean Jeremiah said concerning our hearts, said they're deceitful above everything else
in the world. Deceitful above all things. And
desperately wicked. And that word desperately means
incurably. It's a medical term. Incurably
wicked. It can't be made better. God
must give us, if we're to be saved, a new heart. A new heart. A new heart. Preachers are running around
saying, give God your heart. He don't want that filthy thing.
He's got one to give you. He'll give you a new one. We must know ourselves as God
knows us, not in the degree, but in truth. In truth. You know the patriarchs in the
Old Testament, different ones, Isaiah chapter 6, when they saw
the Lord, really saw him in his glory, high and lifted up. His
words next were, Woe is unto me. I'm cut off, there's no hope,
because he saw the Lord in his holy glory. I know in my flesh, my mind,
my heart, there's nothing good. I know that in me, by experience
daily, there's darkness and ignorance and unbelief. Now, I know that this old nature
is spiritually opposed, naturally opposed, to the will
of God, the God of the Bible. Galatians 5, 17, I believe it's
what it says, the Spirit lusteth against the flesh, and the flesh
against the Spirit. These are contrary one to another.
Everything we are by nature is contrary to what God is by nature. We're opposed to God. The mind
is enmity against God. That's what I am. We talk about
these men that have been in this and that, been in drugs, or been
in that and the other, and they've done some bad things, and they
correct themselves, reform their lives, and that's good. But our
need is for God to do something on the inside. That's what Christ
told the Pharisees. He said, boy, you make so clean
the outside of the cup. You're so particular about every
little old thing outside. Keeping this law and giving a
tithe of this and that and the other, even from your herb garden. But you don't know anything about
the inside of the cup. He said, clean up the inside
and the outside will be all right. That's what I say. That's what
Christ said. That's what the Word of God teaches. These Jews,
Christ stood in his first publicly recorded message. He said, you
heard it said, or it hath been said unto you, thou shalt not
kill. But he said, I tell you, when
you hate a man in your heart, you are a murderer in the eyes
of God. He said, it hath been said unto
you, thou shalt not commit adultery. But he said, I look on a woman
to look on a woman in lust after her. In the eyes of God, you're
an adulterer. Men look at you and admire you
because you haven't physically done it, but in the heart. If men are going to be saved,
they have to learn something about who God is, and they have to
learn something about what we are, or they'll never know our
need. They'll never know the distance
between us and God, our terrible need of reconciliation, and how
hard it is to put away sin. How hard it is to put away sin.
All the thousands upon thousands of animal sacrifices in the Old
Testament never put away a single man. But this man, the Lord Jesus,
by one sacrifice forever, one sacrifice for sins forever, sat
down at the right hand of the Majesty on high. from henceforth expecting to
let every enemy that is brought under his feet. For by that one
offering he hath perfected, what? Perfected forever them that are
sanctified." Perfected forever. Life, sanity, eternal life. are all in the hands of God,
and He doesn't owe me a thing. Not one single thing. And I can't
do a thing, change a thing, to cause Him to even look in my
direction. It's all sovereign free grace.
Sovereign free grace. He does not owe me anything but
justice, and I've learned what I deserve, and I have no argument
against it. And I know beyond any doubt and
dispute that what I know is the truth of God. God's true. I know a little about who God
is, and you must. And I know a little about what
I am. And one day I'll know even as I'm known, but I don't know
yet. I know enough to make me sick. Thirdly, one must know if he's
going to have assurance and joy, real assurance and joy, confidence,
old-fashioned confidence. One must know that the Lord Jesus
Christ is God's salvation. Spurgeon used to say, Christ
is not only our Savior, he is salvation itself. He is the way,
the truth, and the life. If you have the sword, you have
life. We must know that the only gospel is Christ. There is none other name under
heaven given among men whereby we must be saved. That's the
only way. No man comes to God but by me. No man comes to the Father but
by me. Jesus Christ, that glorious gloriously
mysterious person, that God-man, he is life, Jesus Christ, who
he is, and him crucified, delivered for our offenses, and raised
again for our justification. Raised again for our justification. We must know the truth about
God. We must know the truth about
me, ourselves. We must know that Christ himself
is our salvation. There is no other. We must have
the Son. And the fourth thing we must
know is this. One must know that having the
Son is simply a matter of faith and trust. How can he become
mine? Simply a matter of faith and
trust. How can a man be justified in Christ? Simply a matter of
faith and trust with the heart. Man believeth unto righteousness. Paul said concerning the Jews,
I bear them record that they have a zeal of God. But they're
so ignorant, they're going about to establish their own righteousness
and have not submitted themselves to the righteousness of God which
is in Christ. Verse 4, chapter 10, Romans. Christ is the end of the law
for righteousness to everyone that believeth. The law has no
more to do with me except to no charge. No charge, David. That's what the law is. No charge. because Christ took my place. He fulfilled the law every jot
and tenor from the heart, and he bore the penalty of my guilt in his own body on
that tree. Our trust and our confidence
is in his doing and his dying, and not in ourselves. Now the
fourth thing, one must know that having, as I said, having the
Son is simply a matter of faith and trust. Faith and trust. Jews came to Christ one time
and said, what good work must we do, you know, to be approved
of God and so forth? He said, this is the work of
God, that you believe on me. Believe on him whom he has sent.
That's the work of God. Believe on the Son. How can we
glorify God? Believe on His Son. Rest in His
Son. How can we be received of God,
accepted of God? Faith in His Son. I said this
before when I said your most important question as we sit
before God this morning, the question is what do you think
of God's Son? That's the most important question
in all the world. What do you think of God's Son?
That's what concerns God. What do you think of His Son?
All through the Old Testament, those sacrifices were offered
one after another. And the Jews turned it into just
a dead ceremony. The table became a snare to them.
But every time a sacrifice was offered back there, they were
typical. They were pictures. God saw his son. God saw his
son. One must know that having a son
is simply a matter of faith and trust. This is often where Satan
has such a field, both with the wheat and the tares, leading false religionists, the
tares, into the broad way of destruction and causing God's
dear saints to often doubt and waver. There are so many mysteries in
salvation. Though it's simple, as I said,
Spurgeon used to say, so simple and yet so sublime, so many mysteries. Salvation has to do with a new
creation, a new birth, being born of God, new life, new nature,
all these things. Repentance and faith, and they're
all essential. They must take place. And men have created rituals
to fulfill these requirements of God. They have come up with
baptism, rituals, ceremonies, decisions, experiences looked
upon to answer these important issues. Have you been born again? Well, I had some kind of experience.
I don't want to hear about that. Have you been born again? Have
you passed from death into life? There has been such a radical
change in you that you can say, old things are passed away and
behold, all things are become new. New creation in the Lord
Jesus Christ. And men, so many in our day,
look upon these things, these things, all in the name of Christ,
but they look upon these things rather than looking upon Christ
Himself. That's a fatal mistake. That's
a fatal mistake. When one looks to any of these,
repentance, faith, decisions, experience, you know what he's
doing? Looking to himself. Looking to himself. And not to
the Lord. Something of his own. My repentance,
my faith, my experience. Looking to himself. And we must
simply look to Christ, look to Christ, look to Christ, the author
and finisher of our faith. An old priest named Simeon, one
time, by the revelation of God. When Christ was eight days old,
they carried him up to the temple to be dedicated. And he recognized
who that infant was. And they took him up in his arms. He wasn't thinking about how
much faith he had. He said about who he held in
his arms, who he saw, who he saw. He saw the Lord Jesus Christ
and this was his response. Lord, now I am ready to depart
in peace for mine eyes have seen thy salvation. But he wasn't
looking about his faith, thinking about his faith. He saw the Son.
He wasn't trusting his faith. He trusted the Son. He's salvation,
not our faith. We say through faith, but faith
in Christ, faith that lays hold of Christ and trust Him alone.
Trust Him alone. Too many look to ourselves for
confidence and assurance. But since Christ is a Savior, Christ is salvation, then hope
and assurance come from looking to Him. looking unto Jesus, the
author and finisher of our faith. Let us run this race looking
unto Him. God help us to do so. The eyes
we see with are called faith, but we don't look to our eyes,
we look to Christ with our eyes. We look to Christ through faith. We concentrate on Christ in His
Word, When we see and understand and love and trust Him, that's
salvation. When we can look at Him in His
Word and say, with Simeon I've seen your salvation, we've found
it. That is Christ's salvation. Don't try to build faith upon
your faith because your faith is so weak at times. And never
do we trust our faith. We just simply, with whatever
measure of faith we have, we look to Christ. We look to Christ. Look to Christ. And that's salvation. You know, faith is important.
No man is saved without it. But it's just a manner of laying
hold of Christ, seeing and believing and trusting in the Lord Jesus. Pretty soon, I'm going to lay
down my faith. It's just temporary. God just
gives me faith until I see Him face to face with my own eyes. Faith will be gone forever. I
won't need it. Why should I have it? I see Him
face to face. See Him face to face. Very soon
we see Him by sight. He must be all to us now, or
He won't be then. And if Christ is your all and
in all, and you'll just look to Him simply, plainly, looking
to Him, trusting Him, waiting upon Him, hoping in Him, You
ought to have confidence and assurance, because that is salvation. May God bless each of us, increase
our faith, help our unbelief, but give us a sweeter view and
a clearer view of the Lord Jesus Christ, that we may truly live
on Him, eat His flesh, and drink His blood. May God bless these
words to every heart. Okay, David.
