My subject tonight is the great
white throne. Revelation chapter 20. This is
the throne of judgment before which we all must appear in the
last day. It's great. For it's a throne
of omnipotent power. It's the throne upon which sits
he who is God Almighty. His will will be executed. His power will not be resisted. His purpose will not be frustrated. His designs will not be thwarted. It's a great throne of judgment. This great throne is white, for upon it sits him who is light, him who is immortality dwelling
in light which no man can approach unto, him who dwells in the dazzling
brilliance of white purity, holiness, righteousness, justice, and truth. And it is a great white throne. For upon it sits him who is totally
sovereign. This is the throne of the king.
This is the throne of the universe. This is the throne upon which
sits Jesus Christ, our God. The throne upon which he has
sat from old eternity, even before the worlds were made. The throne
upon which he sat when Satan led his revolt in heaven. The
throne upon which he sat unshaken, unmoved, when the angels were
cast out of his presence. The throne upon which he sat
when he said, let there be light, and there was light. The throne
upon which he sat when Adam and Eve were created in his image
and after his likeness, and the throne upon which he sat when
Adam and Eve sinned and rebelled against him. The throne upon
which he has sat these thousands of thousands of thousands of
years, age without end or beginning. It is the throne upon which he
will sit, still unmoved, unshaken, undisturbed, unaffected by all
that has taken place in time the throne of his total sovereignty. In the last great day, we must
appear before the august majesty of this great white throne to
be judged according to strict righteousness, perfect holiness,
inflexible justice, and absolute truth. Now tonight I have on
my heart the heavy, heavy burden of the word of the Lord. And I'm going to preach to you
and to myself as though there is a good possibility that nobody
in this place knows Jesus Christ. that nobody in this place has
life in him, that we are all sentenced under the wrath of
God. For I'm certain there is a good possibility that many
even here are yet under the wrath of God. My subject is too awesome, too
solemn, too serious for me to think of entertaining you with
pleasant stories with anecdotes or illustrations, with clever
speech, with learning or wisdom. I have before me, as David sang, as I sat here
waiting to stand before you to preach, I have before me a picture. I see myself. standing before
this great white throne of judgment and standing face to face with
you. And I must give an account. I am responsible under God to
declare to you the truth of God as clearly and as plainly as
I possibly can. So without introduction, let
me read this text to you. Revelation 20, verse 11. I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose faith from whose face
the earth and the heaven fled away. This is not sweet little Jesus. This is not the sweet, kindly
pathetic God, the kindly helpless, frustrated, defeated God that
men think he is. The one sitting on this throne
sits in such austerity, in such majesty, in such holiness, in
such evident power, that at the sight of his face, everyone flees
away. Everyone flees away. And there
was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and
great, stand before God. And the books were open. And
another book was open. Thank God. Which is the book
of life. And the dead were judged out
of those things which were written in the books. According to their
works. And the sea gave up the dead
which were in it. And death and hell delivered
up the dead which were in them. And they were judged every man
according to their works. And death and hell were cast
into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written
in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. I want
to show you five solemn facts about things to come. I'll just
make these five statements and I'll comment on them very briefly. They're facts, indisputable,
undeniable facts. First, the Lord Jesus Christ
is coming again. That's a fact. That's not fantasy,
that's not theory, that's not theology. That's a fact. I don't
concern myself with the signs of the times. I have people often
ask me, don't you think this is just a sign of the times?
I don't know. I don't, I'm not even concerned about the signs
of the times. I'm not concerned about those things which might
be considered by many to be indications of the last days. There is very
little, if anything, of spiritual value to be gained by studying
all the books that have ever been written on the subject of
prophecy. I don't recommend it. I don't
recommend that you waste your time, your energy, your effort.
Spend your time studying the gospel of Christ. You see, we
are not looking for the signs of his coming, we're looking
for him to come. And there's a big difference.
We're not looking for signs, we're looking for the Savior.
We're not looking for signs, we're looking for our King. Get
this one blessed fact fixed in your heart. Jesus Christ our
Lord is coming again. Now let's look at some familiar
scripture. Acts chapter 1. Acts chapter
1. The Son of God is coming personally
to this earth one more time. Here in Acts chapter 1 verse
9. When he had spoken these things, when our Lord had said his last
farewell to his disciples, while they beheld, while they were
looking at him, while their eyes were fixed on him, he was taken
up, and a cloud received him out of their sight. And while
they looked steadfastly toward heaven, as he went up, behold,
two men stood by them in white apparel, which said, Ye men of
Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus,
the very one who lived in Judea, the very one who was despised
of men, the very one who worked in a carpenter shop, The very
one who was the man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. The
very one who was led away to the judgment hall. The very one
who was mocked, derided, spit upon, and beaten. The very one
who was hung on a cursed tree and suffered the wrath of God
and the wrath of men. The very one who was buried in
the tomb and rose again. The very one who lifted up his
hands on Ascension Day and blessed his people. This same Jesus shall
so come, which is taken from you into heaven, shall so come
in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven. Somehow or
another, I picture the glorious descent of Jesus Christ not as
being what the picture books and the artists and the religious
people have portrayed it as being. I picture the Lord Jesus descending
back from his throne, just exactly as he went up to his throne.
Calm, serene, collected, coming to do his business, coming to
do what he agreed from eternity to do. He's coming again. This
very same Jesus is coming again. The scripture says the Lord himself
shall descend from heaven. The Lord Jesus shall be revealed
from heaven. He came once in weakness, thank
God, but he's coming again in power. He came once in humiliation,
he's coming again in great glory. He came once to be despised of
men, he's coming again to be admired of all them that see
him. He came once to suffer and die, he's coming again to judge
and to reign. The second coming of Christ will
be a sudden unexpected, unannounced, and unanticipated descent. Our Savior shall come quickly. He shall come without forewarning. He shall come without any indication
to this world that He is coming. The Scripture says, The day of
the Lord cometh as a thief in the night. Our Lord said, I will
come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know the hour.
when I will come upon thee. You see, the Lord Jesus does
not tell us to look for a tribulation day and then to look for his
coming. He does not tell us to look for
the gathering of Israel and then to look for his coming. He does
not tell us to look for the rebuilding of a temple in Jerusalem and
then look for his coming. The Lord Jesus tells us plainly
to look for himself. You look for times and signs
and seasons now listen to me if you look for times and signs
and seasons Which indicate his coming you'll not be looking
for him when he comes you'll still be looking at times and
signs and seasons. We're not interested in looking
to Palestine, we're not interested in looking to times and events
and circumstances, but rather we're called upon to look for
Christ himself. If you look for times and signs
and seasons, you'll be unaware, and suddenly the thief shall
appear. You'll be shocked and surprised
when Christ appears. The only thing that will announce
His coming is His coming. The only thing that will announce
it is when He comes. When the Lord descends from heaven,
there will be the shout, the voice of the archangel, and Christ
is here. Just like that, He shall appear.
Our Lord Jesus may appear at any moment. I wonder if we believe
that. I wonder if we do. I know we
believe it. I wonder if we believe it. I
know we understand it. I wonder if we believe it. Our
Lord Jesus may come before I breathe my next breath. He may be here. He may be here. Do you really
believe that? Look over in Revelation 1, verse
20. Or verse 7, rather. Revelation
1, verse 7. Behold, He coming. He coming. It's in the present tense. Behold,
Christ is coming right now. He's coming. He's coming. Ever
since He went away, He's been making preparations to return.
Ever since He went away, He's been doing what's necessary to
be done that He should return. Behold, He's coming. Let us look
for Him upon the tiptoe of faith and expectation. God, give me
a heart to look for Christ now and to look for Christ constantly. Oh, my soul, how that would wean
us from this world and the cares of this world. Let us stand upon
the tiptoe of faith, looking for the Savior, anticipating
his glorious appearance. All will be taken by surprise,
except those who are expecting the Lord to appear. Those early
Thessalonian believers, you remember in 1 Thessalonians 1 verse 10,
Paul commended them because they constantly did wait for the coming
of the Son of God. They constantly did wait for
the appearing of the Lord Jesus Christ. And we, like them, must
constantly wait for God's Son from heaven. Faith is ever looking
for that blessed hope and the glorious appearing of the great
God, our Savior, Jesus Christ. Now, I know this. I can't tell
you when Christ will appear. I don't know that. No man knows
that. Anyone who says he knows that's a liar, a lunatic, or
he's deceived. One of those things. Anyone who
pretends to know the signs that indicate that Christ will be
here in a few years, that say, well, all right, now this happened,
so he's going to come sometime in the next ten years, or sometime
in the next ten days, or sometime in the next ten minutes. That
man does not know whereof he speaks. No man knows the hour
ordained of God when Christ will come, and God gives us no indication
to tell us the hour when Christ will come. Now, there's no such
thing as an indication in time and providence that Christ is
coming until Christ Jesus comes again. But I know this. Christ
is coming right now. His heart is with his church.
His heart is with his bride His heart is with his people and
soon he shall descend as soon as he has gathered the last of
his elect unto himself in saving faith behold he's here Christ
is coming soon. He shall appear and when Christ
Jesus appears he will bring a crown of immortal life and to all them
that love and look for his appearing. That's what the Apostle Paul
said. He said, the Lord has laid up for me a crown of life, not
for me only, but unto all them also that love him and love his
appearing. Now secondly, when Christ Jesus
comes, there will be a great general resurrection of all who
have ever lived upon the earth. Now I know that some of you have
been schooled in what is called dispensational theology. Ignore
it. Forget it. Forget it. It ain't so. Not a word of it
so. You have been taught to expect
that there's going to be some kind of a secret rapture, that
Christ is going to come in secret and rapture out his church. Find
me one word in scripture that ever suggests Christ is coming
secretly. Find me one word. There's not a word anywhere in
the Bible to suggest that Christ is coming in secret. And then
they say, well, there's going to be seven years of tribulation
and after that Christ is going to come and gather the righteous
out of the world. The righteous ones that have
been saved without the Holy Spirit during the tribulation period
by their works. Find me one word of scripture
to indicate such a thing. It's not to be found anywhere
in the Bible. And then after a thousand-year millennial reign
upon the earth, there's going to be a great resurrection of
the wicked when Christ Jesus comes, then the third second
time. Now that kind of stuff is a bit
ridiculous. It makes good reading for men
who have no regard for the Word of God, but it is not to be found
in the Scriptures. According to our text, When Christ
Jesus comes the second time, there will be a great general
resurrection of all who have ever lived upon the earth. Look
at verse 13. And the sea gave up the dead
which were in it, and death and hell delivered up the dead which
were in them. All the dead are gathered before
this great white throne. Turn over to John chapter 5.
Let me show you. John chapter 5 and verse 28 John
5 28 Our Lord Jesus is speaking And
he has just described the new birth. He said in verse 25 verily
verily I say unto you The hour is coming and now is that's what's
going on right now right now in this gospel age When the dead
shall hear the voice of the Son of God, and they that hear shall
live. That's the first resurrection we saw last week. Then in verse
28, the Lord says, don't be surprised at this. Don't marvel, don't
be astonished at this. Marvel not at this, for the hour
is coming. There is an appointed hour coming
in the which All that are in the graves, now who does that
include? That includes everybody that's
in any kind of grave anywhere in all the world who ever died
at any time upon this earth. All who are in the graves, all
of them, shall hear his voice and shall come forth They that
have done good unto the resurrection of life, and they that have done
evil unto the resurrection of damnation. And I offer no argument,
proof, or any kind of a logical pattern to display what I'm preaching. I'm simply declaring to you the
plain facts as they are revealed in the Word of God. If you rebel
against them, if you mock them, if you despise them, if you resist
them, you do so to the ruin of your soul. But I do assure you
that when the Son of God comes again, there will be a resurrection
of all the dead. All who have ever lived upon
this earth will live again. All who have ever come forth
from a mother's womb will live again. All who have ever breathed
the air of God's creation will live again. First, in that great
resurrection, those who have died in the faith shall be raised
from the grave. All will be raised, but God's
saints will have priority in the resurrection. Let me show
it to you. 1 Thessalonians chapter 4. 1
Thessalonians 4. Now, you know, I'm not much of
one to describe orders of events. I don't know much, but I know
this. When Christ comes the second time, the first folks come out
of the grave are going to be sleeping saints. The first ones
out of the grave are going to be those who have died in the
faith, those who sleep in Jesus. The Apostle Paul says in 1 Thessalonians
4, 13, I would not have you ignorant, brethren, Concerning them which
are asleep that you sorrow not even as others which have no
hope For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again Even so them
also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him For this we
say unto you by the word of the Lord that we which are alive
and remain unto the coming of the Lord Kindly indicates that
Paul expected to be dead. I We which are alive and remain
unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent or go before them
which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend
from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and
with the trump of God, and the dead in Christ shall rise first. Then we which are alive and remain
shall be called up together with them in the clouds to meet the
Lord in the air. So shall we ever be with the
Lord. Now what is Paul telling us?
He's telling us first that all the Old Testament saints will
rise up, all of them. Every one of them, at one time,
scattered throughout all the world, they're going to rise
up. All of those saints of God that lived in the days of old,
even from the very beginning, they shall be raised up at the
voice of Christ. Their souls shall descend from
heaven with Christ, and their bodies raised up to meet Him
in the air. They'll be raised up and transfigured like that
before everybody's eyes. All those who sleep in Christ,
all of them, some of you have friends and loved ones, who've
been a long time asleep in the Savior, they all shall rise from
the dead. Every one of them. All the martyrs,
all those who have suffered for Christ, they shall rise from
the dead. Those who've been cast into lions'
dens and eaten by the lions, those who've been devoured, those
whose bodies have been burned and their ashes scattered to
the winds, the Lord God shall gather up even the ashes of His
elect, and they shall rise by the power of God. Well, that's
unscientific. It may be unscientific, but it's
true. It's true. Jesus Christ, our great God,
who gathered man out of the dust of the earth to begin with, will
gather his elect out of the earth again in that great day. And
then immediately after the sleeping saints arise, all believers living
upon the earth shall be changed and called up to meet the Lord
in the air. Turn over to 1 Corinthians 15. Now, don't get the notion
that this is all going to take a long time. It's not going to
take any time at all. It's all going to happen just
like that. Quicker than that, it's going
to happen in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye. Look here
in verse 51, 1 Corinthians 15. I show you a great mystery. We
shall not all sleep. Not all of us are going to die.
Somebody they're gonna be some of God's elect around in the
last day. They're gonna be some believers around in the last
day They're gonna be some true witnesses around in the last
day They're gonna be somebody living on this earth who knows
God and worships God when Christ comes the second time in his
glory We shall not all sleep But we shall all be changed in
a moment in the twinkling of an eye at the last Trump for
the trumpet shall sound and the dead shall be raised incorruptible
and we We shall be changed. The Lord Jesus comes. Tonight,
tonight he comes. Before the sun sets, he comes.
And when he comes, we shall be changed. Just like that. Changed. What's this change talking about?
This corruptible, this body of corruption, this dying, decaying,
rotting body, this body of flesh must put on incorruption. This
mortal, this dying flesh, must put on immortality. So then,
when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this
mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass
the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O
death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? But then, as our Lord descends in the brilliant
glory of his second coming, And we go out to meet him, as he
comes with all his saints to burn up the earth and destroy
the wicked, to make all things new then. After the Son of God
has gathered the last of his ransomed ones, after he has gathered
all the bodies of his elect from the earth, after he has destroyed
all the wicked with the brightness of his coming, all the wicked
shall be raised as well. Now hear me. You who believe not, you who
despise Christ, you who live in rebellion against him, you
who will not bow to his word, you who will not embrace his
sovereign rule, you who will not have him rule over you, there
will be a resurrection for you too. But for you the resurrection
has no music. The Lord himself shall issue
a summon which you will want to resist, a summons which you will beg
not to obey, a summons which you will regret having ever heard,
but a summons which you shall not resist, and your body shall
be raised up. The body which joined with your
soul Sinned against God the body which joined with your soul has
taken you in the path of rebellion the body Which joined to your
soul has has has walked with you in this world in rebellion
to Christ in defiance to his rule despising his gospel the
body in which you have trampled underfoot the blood of the Son
of God and Counted the covet the blood of his covenant to
be a useful and despised thing That body shall be raised up
And you will stand in terror, indescribable terror, before
the face of him whose grace you've despised. Your body and soul, now united
in sin, shall be united in horror. And I offer you no word of comfort.
If you die without Christ, I give you no word of hope, no word
of peace. Yours shall be a resurrection of damnation. When the wicked die in unbelief,
they're cast into hell, reserved in the pit. suffering the wrath
of God, suffering the torments of righteousness, suffering the
unmitigated anger of divine justice. But they're reserved unto this
day. When the Lord Jesus shall raise
up their bodies and raise up their souls, death and hell,
every graveyard, every cemetery, every man who's died in the sea,
every soul in hell shall be raised up. raised up before the bar
of God's justice to be judged according to righteousness. Thirdly, immediately after the
resurrection, we all must be judged of God. Judged, now listen
to me, judged according to the record of our works. In verse 12 we read, And I saw
the dead, small and great, stand before God. And the books were
opened. And another book was opened,
which is the book of life. And the dead were judged out
of those things which were written in the books according to their
works. And the sea gave up the dead
which were in it, and death and hell delivered up the dead which
were in them. And they were judged every man
according to their works. It is appointed unto men once
to die, but after this the judgment. Oh, what horror awaits you who
have not owned a wedding garment. What horror awaits you who are
now smug in your cloak of religion, who now hide in your refuge of
lies, what horror awaits you, who now despise Jesus Christ. How can I make you see? How can
I make you hear? God help me to make things plain.
There is a judgment to come. The judge before whom you must
stand is the God-man whom you've crucified, him that sat on the throne from
whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. That one who holds the gavel
of justice in his right hand has the mark of a nail on that
hand. That one whose face you shall see in the last day is
pierced with a crown of thorns. That one, that one who sits at
the judgment bar before whom you must stand but before whom
you cannot stand is Jesus Christ our God. Jesus Christ our the
father hath committed all judgment to the son God has appointed
a day wherein he will judge the world by that man whom he hath
ordained Jesus Christ our Lord for we must all appear before
the judgment seat of Christ to give an account of the things
done in the flesh whether they be good or whether they be evil
and In that day you will be judged according to the record of God
and in the books of his law and his justice. In this passage, John says, I
saw the books. Books. Books. I got to looking that over. God doesn't need a book to remember
things. God doesn't need a book in which
he inscribes the transgressions of men. I'm quite sure that the
passage is symbolical, so the books are not to be stressed
too literally. But I think I know something
about the indication of the symbol. You see, there are two books
written by God. Two books given by God to men
in which God Almighty has revealed Himself in His holiness. Two
books which record and expose all the sins of men. It's the
book of God's law. Book one has reference to God,
and book two has reference to man. That is the table of God's
law. The first table of the law speaks
of man's sin against God. The second table of the law speaks
of man's sin against his fellow man. So that when the books are
opened, what shocking terrors shall seize your soul? In these
books, every offense you have committed is here written. and remember. I've never been in a position
where I was drowning or going down in
a plane about to crash. But I have been told and I have
read how that men and women in that position, when they're plane
is going down, and they've somehow survived, or they've been just
about to drown, and they've somehow survived. It seemed like everything
passed before them, everything they'd ever seen or done or experienced
passed before them just like that. And somehow in that last
day, when you're standing before God in His august holiness, everything
Everything will pass before you. Everything. Nothing hidden. Your conscience will be keenly
awakened. Your mind, your ability to apprehend
facts and truths and to remember and recall will be given keen
awareness. God's gonna fix it so you're
fully aware of every transgression. Every transgression. The first
book that's open Record your sins against God. In that book
it is written, Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Thou shalt not make unto thee
any grave an image. Thou shalt not take the name
of the Lord thy God in vain. Remember the Sabbath day to keep
it holy. That is love God with all your
heart. all your soul, all your mind,
all your being, all your strength. Honor God. Worship God. Reverence God. And there, every transgression
you've ever committed against the Holy Throne of the Holy God
is exposed. The second book is opened, it
says, honor thy father and thy mother. Thou shalt not kill,
thou shalt not commit adultery, thou shalt not steal, thou shalt
not bear false witness, thou shalt not covet. In other words,
love your neighbor just like yourself. And when the books are opened and your sin is exposed, nothing else nothing else will
be considered so but i was just a young man
age doesn't have anything to do with it but i i was raised
in bad circumstances circumstances don't have anything to do with
it but i had a i didn't have the opportunity of good education
education ain't got a thing to do with it but i i i was raised
around a rough crowd environment doesn't have a thing to do with
it Nothing's considered but righteousness, only righteousness. No excuses,
no excuses, only righteousness. But there are some against whom
the books of God's law, there are some against whom the books
of God's justice record no transgression. Mean no transgression. I want
you to look at that text to Jeremiah 50 again Jeremiah 50 And verse 20 In those days in this great and
dreadful day of the Lord saith the Lord The iniquity of Israel shall
be sought for God's gonna open the books He
gonna that's what he said here in he's gonna open the books.
What's he looking for? He's looking for sin He's looking
for iniquity. He's looking for transgression
the iniquity of Israel God's elect shall be sought for now
look at this next line and there shall be none and the sins of
Judah and they shall not be found for I will pardon them whom I
reserve you see these other folks there is no record in the book
of God of them having transgressed God's law For their sins have
been purged away by the blood of Christ. He has blotted out
their transgressions. He has removed their sins from
them. He has forgotten their iniquities. For Christ Jesus has paid their
debt. Finality has been written across
this. Payment is made. Christ Jesus
has paid the debts. No transgression. No iniquity. Their names are found in another
book. God opens another book. It is a book which God wrote
and sealed before the world was made. It's the book of life. There's a name written at the
top page of the book. I can see it. Now, you understand
I'm speaking figuratively, don't you? But there's a name written
at the top page of the book. The name written is the name
of our surety. Jesus Christ the Son of God.
Underneath the name of the Lamb, our Lord, is written the record
of God's election. My name is written there. My
name is recorded beneath my Lord, the Lamb, in that book of life
of the Lamb. There is the name of the surety
and the name of the people whom that surety represents. And there
is written a record, a record of perfect righteous obedience
such as God requires. And that's what Christ did for
us. And there's a record written, a record written of payment made,
of blood atonement, of sin satisfaction. of justice satisfied. And that
record is written by Jesus Christ for God's own approval on behalf
of those people whom he represents. He's the lamb slain from the
foundation of the world. That book has a record of full
satisfaction. It is a record promising eternal
life. It's the book of life. As a matter
of fact, if you read the lines in our text, another book was
opened which is, now notice the words book are in italics, another
book was opened which is life. Another book was opened, and
that book, that book is life. Anybody written in that book
lives. That book is life. It's the book
of God's record, the book of God's election, the book of God's
purpose, the book of God's decree, the book of life for the people
of God's love. Fourthly, those who are found
perfectly righteous according to the records of God himself,
shall enter into eternal life and everlasting glory with Christ. They that have done good, nothing
but good, perfect good, God kind of good, shall enter
into life everlasting. I told you we're going to be
judged according to our works. And we're going to be judged
according to perfect righteousness. Perfect righteousness. When God
opens the book, if he finds transgression, you're gone. If he finds sin,
you're gone. If he finds iniquity, you're
gone. Doesn't matter how small. Doesn't matter how slight. It
doesn't matter how insignificant it may appear to you. If God
finds you with any spot of iniquity, any wrinkle of infirmity, any
evil of any kind, you're gone forever. Look here in Revelation
22, verse 11. He that is unjust, let him be
unjust still. He which is filthy, let him be
filthy still. He that is righteous, let him
be righteous still. He that is holy, let him be holy
still. Pastor, who on earth is it that
offers God perfect righteousness? Who can stand and say he's perfectly
obeyed the Lord God? Who can say that he's obeyed
God from cradle to grave? Who can say that he's never performed
sin? Who can say that he's always
done good? Who could ever imagine standing
before God with a clean heart, clean hands, and a pure heart
who's never lifted up his soul to vanity? I'll tell you who.
Every one of God's elect, every redeemed sinner, everyone who
is called by grace, justified by faith in the blood of Christ,
everyone who believes on Christ, they're the redeemed of the Lord,
and to them God will not impute iniquity. There, accepted, holy,
unblameable, unreprovable in His sight. God chose us from
before the foundation of the world that we should be holy
and without blame before him. Christ died that he might present
us without spot or wrinkle or any such thing in the presence
of his glory. He's able to keep you and to
present you faultless before the presence of his glory. He's
able and will present his own unblameable in that great day. Unblameable. For his righteousness
has been imputed to us. His righteousness has been laid
to our charge. Will you then believe? I'll tell you who's among those
holy ones. I'll tell you who's there. There's
an old boy there who committed a notorious crime
of adultery and murder. Who's without any sin and perfectly
righteous. His name is David. He wrote a
song, and he said, blessed is the man to whom the Lord will
not impute iniquity. There's an old boy there, who one day, after demonstrating
so many good characteristics, he trembled for his life, and
he said to his wife, he said, now honey, you're a good looking
woman. And that king, I've seen him with Zion here. Tell you
what, you go sleep with him tonight. And he'll spare my life. And
he's there without transgression. His name is Abraham. Justified
with the righteousness of Christ. There's a fellow there by the
name of Lot. He's one of those right hand
believers. One of those right hand sheep.
He's one of those, he sits on the right hand and judges. And the Lord looks on a lot.
A lot. I could tell you a lot of stuff
bad he did. I can't tell you a good thing he ever did. But
he's perfectly righteous, holy, without spot, unblameable, unreprovable
in the sight of God. That's right. That's right. God looks up a lot. No transgression. No sin. No iniquity. Perfect righteousness. There's an old boy there who spent all the strength of
his youth on a hell-bent path to destruction, who had no regard for mother,
no regard for father, who had no regard for God and no regard
for man, who had no regard for reputation,
no regard for law, no regard for any symbol of authority. One who got arrested and stopped in his way and called
to life and gave him faith and spread his skirt over him said
live and gave him righteousness and spoke pardon and peace to
his soul, one who one day experienced in his soul the free pardon of
sin, and that man now speaks to you, and in that day he'll
stand before God without blame, without fault. without blemish,
without spot, without sin. Perfectly righteous. Perfectly righteous. I'm confident it's so pretty,
because I trust that's what it is. I trust it. I have nothing of my own to offer
God but the perfect righteousness of his Son, Jesus Christ, the
blood atonement of his dear Son. But lastly, I warn you, all who in that day are found
guilty of sin shall be cast into the lake of fire to suffer the
unmitigated wrath of God forever. Oh, the horrid scriptures of
the damned in that day, when our Lord says, take it, bind it, and cast it into outer
darkness. where there shall be weeping
and wailing and gnashing of teeth, where the worm dieth not and
the fire does not quench. Cast him out of my presence! And the damned shall scream for
mercy and beg for acceptance and plead with God to be lenient. But there will be no mercy for
you. And there will be no pity for
you. And there will be no sorrow for you. There'll be no hope
for you. There'll be no end for you. To
hell you deserve to go. To hell justice demands that
you go. To hell you will go. And the saints of God will sing
God's praise because of your torments. under the wrath and
justice of Almighty God. Now in that great and terrible
day of the Lord, I want to be found in Christ,
not having mine own righteousness which is of the law, but the
righteousness of God which is by faith in Him. Believing him I shall be. How
about you?
