Arminians vs. Calvinists

I see a lot of fighting on social media, and I do my best to stay out of it now.  I don't see it every day now, but every now and then I'll see something that really bothers me.   Lately I saw a post from some "sovereign grace" maniac stating that if you consider any "free willer" a brother, you are a child of the devil.  This is so dangerous.  Yes, we must be watchful for false religion creeping in, and while I consider the system of arminianism false and evil, I consider these "sovereign grace" people to be false and evil as well.  There is nothing graceful about the "grace" they are preaching.

On the arminian side there are some individuals that state you must accept Christ in order to be saved and that the power of salvation lies in the hands of men.  That is clearly erroneous and robs from the glory of God and His salvation.

On the calvinist side there are some individuals that state you must agree with them in their judgment of other people, or you too are not saved.  That is another scheme of putting the power of salvation in the hands of men, and is another attempt to rob the Lord.

In my mind, I fail to distinguish between the two systems of thought.  One side has people believing they have to make the right decision to be saved, and the other side has people believing they have to get their doctrine completely correct and learn to judge properly in order to be saved.

Folks, salvation isn't dependent upon what you think... or what you decide... or how you judge.  It's dependent on Christ, who saves His people from their sin, EVERY sin, including doctrinal error.  And nothing can convince me otherwise.  I get a lot of things wrong in this life, I am probably a terrible judge, and I'm sure I have a lot of doctrinal error as well.  I'm trying to get better.  But I can tell you this, I am safe and secure in the arms of my savior, and nobody can convince me otherwise.  And I'm not dependent upon any religious experiences, doctrinal alignments, or group memberships for my assurance.  I simply get salvation for free.  And I rest in His righteousness.  Nobody better try to take that joy away from me with their ridiculous man centered standards as I'm getting too old to put up with it now. - SDG!
