- They are "almost home."
- They not only have God's promises, but have experienced the fulfilling of them many times.
- They do not entertain any doubts about the gospel of God's sovereign grace and Christ's effectual atonement. They know that salvation is and has to be of the Lord.
- They are not alarmed nor swayed by new voices and persuasive preachers. They have seen too many of them fall away to ever allow them to follow a man.
- Their failures have left them humbled, emptied of any confidence in this flesh and totally dependent on His mercy and grace in Christ Jesus.
