How is salvation described in the Bible?

Answered in 1 source

Salvation is both a legal reality completed by God and an experiential reality lived out in faith.

Salvation encompasses two dimensions: the legal aspect, which is the work of God alone (monergistic), and the experiential aspect, where believers walk out their faith in obedience. The legal aspect pertains to the eternal decree of God and the finished work of Christ, which secures salvation for the elect. The experiential aspect involves seeing the fruit of salvation manifested in one's life as a result of God's work within. However, both aspects underscore that it is God who initiates, sustains, and completes salvation, leaving no room for human merit. In this way, salvation is fully dependent on God's sovereignty and grace.
