In the sermon "A Woman Healed," Clay Curtis examines the healing of a woman with an issue of blood from Matthew 9:20-22, emphasizing the doctrines of election, sin, and Christ’s redemptive work. Curtis argues that the woman's affliction serves to illustrate God's providential care for His elect, as He orchestrates events to lead them to Christ. The preacher highlights several key Scripture verses, including Leviticus 15 regarding the woman's uncleanness, to paint a picture of the spiritual reality of sin that renders humanity unclean and in dire need of salvation. Furthermore, he underscores the importance of recognizing Christ as the sole healer—both physically and spiritually—pointing to grace as a divine gift, free of human merit. The practical significance of the sermon lies in its call for believers to continually seek Christ for healing and wholeness, reinforcing that true prosperity comes from spiritual well-being rather than mere physical health.

Thank you, Brother Art. All right,
brethren, let's turn to Matthew chapter 9. Matthew chapter 9. We read in verse 20, And behold, a woman which was
diseased with an issue of blood 12 years, came behind the Lord
and touched the hem of his garment. For she said within herself,
if I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole. We don't know
this woman's name. We're not given her name. The
Gospel of Mark tells us she was a certain woman, a certain woman. She was one of God's elect. She
was somebody God chose before the foundation of the world,
for whom Christ came, laid down his life. Everything God does
in providence, it's all his providence. He's the Lord of hosts, the Lord
of Sabaoth. He rules everything, in heaven
and earth and all deep places. And He's working everything.
He's working everything and He's doing it particularly for His
elect. He's doing it for His elect.
He's doing it to cause us to come to Christ. Those that don't
know Him, He's drawing to Christ. He's causing them to come to
Christ. And those that already know Him, He's causing us to
come to Christ. He's making us to know Christ
more. and he's keeping us coming to Christ. The psalmist said,
blessed, happy is the man whom thou choosest and causes to approach
unto thee, that he may dwell in our courts. He we shall be
satisfied with the goodness of thy house, even of thy holy temple. And so God's work in all things
according to His eternal purpose. He's doing it for the good of
His elect, but particularly it is to give His Son all preeminence
in the salvation of His people. You know, when sin entered this
world, it was according to God's eternal purpose. And the purpose
of it was to exalt Christ and give Him the preeminence in the
salvation of His people. All God's elect, like all men
in this world, were conceived in sin, would come forth from
a mother's womb, sinners, guilty and corrupt, but that was according
to God's eternal purpose, that He might exalt Christ and give
Him the preeminence in the salvation of His people. Every bit of it
is according to God's eternal purpose. And so, every sickness,
every sickness, every trial, whatever God's children suffer,
every heartache we have in his life. He's according to God's
eternal purpose. He's worked by the providence
of God. And it's for this end is to exalt Christ and give him
all the preeminence and to bring us to know him more and to trust
him more to make us know our Lord Jesus Christ is the one
thing needful. I started thinking about this
passage last Thursday. After the service, we went outside,
and Brother Ravi and Debbie told me that Debbie has cancer. You know, there's not one of
God's children here or in any place where the Lord's raised
up His church. There's not one of God's children
that's without tribulation. Not one. Kaylin's mother, Rhonda,
has cancer. Her cousin, Chase, has cancer. They think, at least. Her brother,
D. Parks, has cancer. Not one of God's children. We
have a lot of different kinds of tribulation. You do, I do,
we each do. Not one of God's children is
without tribulation. But our sin, and our trials,
and our sicknesses, and whatever it is that we suffer in this
world, it is according to the eternal purpose of God to give
Christ all the preeminence, to exalt Him in our hearts, to make
us know more and more Christ is all. He is salvation. You know, these things make us
behold everything in its proper perspective. If we knew tomorrow
would be our last day, we'd have a whole different perspective
on things. And when the Lord makes you know something like
that, that you have a disease, Brother Don, you know this, It
puts things in proper perspective. Things that were important become
less important. And you find that Christ really
is the one thing you need. If you're going to stand before
God and you're going to meet God and be accepted of God, you
must have him. He must be found in his righteousness
alone, must be washed in his blood alone, made whole by him
alone. Our earnest desire is the same
as what we just read Brother John pray for Brother Gaius and
for those that he ministered to. This is our earnest desire
for one another in all our tribulation. He said, Beloved, I wish above
all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health. We desire that
for one another. But here's the most important
thing. He said, Even as thy soul prosperous. That's the important
thing. That's the important thing. That's
what Christ is working in his redeem. From the first hour,
he begins to draw you through everything you go through in
this life. That's what he's doing in the hearts of his people.
He's making our soul prosper. And if it's well with your soul,
whatever else he's pleased to do, it'll be well. If it's well
with your soul. Now let's see how the Lord did
this for this woman. The whole focus of this passage
is not this woman. The focus of this passage is
the Lord. Now let's see what our Lord did. First of all, this
is what the Lord works in His people. He's going to make us
know our need. He's going to keep us knowing
our need. It says here, verse 20, she was a woman which was
diseased with an issue of blood twelve years. Why is that significant? Well, God gave a law concerning
the issue of blood. You can go home and read it,
Leviticus 15. It was for a man or a woman. If they had a running
issue in their flesh, that means there's some kind of disease
they have and there's some fluid coming out of their flesh. And
not only did they didn't even have to have a disease, it could
just be natural things coming out of their flesh. they were
unclean. They were unclean. Everything
and everyone that they touched was unclean. And if somebody
else touched anything they touched or touched them, they were unclean. That is given to typify the curse
we came under by Adam and the corrupt nature we have as we
come into this world. We received it from our first
representative head. We were made guilty by another
and we were corrupted by another, by something somebody else did.
That's so important because if we're going to be saved, it's
going to be by something somebody else did, the Lord Jesus. We became guilty and corrupt
by Adam. This issue of blood, it's like
all disease, like all infirmity of the flesh, is due to sin. It's due to sin. It typifies
the corrupt sin nature from which all sin flows. This is what our
Lord declared. The Pharisees were, you know,
aesthetics. They were thinking sin was in
things, sin was in what you put in your body, and so to avoid
that, you're going to be holy and righteous. And the Lord told
them, he said, it's those things that proceed out of the mouth.
Because they come forth from the heart. Just like an issue
of blood. Blood flowing from within. Flowing
from within. They come from the heart. He's
saying it's the heart that's defiled. This is what defiles
a man. It's the heart. It's the inner
part. And while in that state, and
if God left us in that state, while in that state, everything
we do is sin. Everything we do is sin. A high
look and a proud heart and the plowing of the wicked is sin. Just planting a garden, just
tilling a row. When she realized she had this
issue of blood, First time she realized this issue, she had
this issue of blood and it persisted. Don't you know it was devastating
to her? You know, when Ravi received and Debbie
received that news, you that have received that kind of news,
you know how it just makes your heart sink. It wakes you up,
makes your heart just sink. They've been through it with
Chloe, now they're going through it with Debbie. It made my heart sink when he
told me. And I remember how it made me
feel when I found out my dad had cancer. But this is what it made me think
about. Me and him both said the same
thing at almost the exact same time last Thursday night. Oh,
that we could know this about ourselves all the time, and that
God would reveal this to our children. You know, when the Lord first
revealed your sin to you, it was worse than that. It was worse
than when, for a person to find out they have a bodily disease,
because He lets you walk around with it, and He didn't give you
comfort with it for a while, and it became so troubling to
you, you realized, I'm lost. You realize, I can't come to
God. I don't know God. I'm a sinner. And the Lord, each time He corrects
us, He makes this happen again. He makes you know You've sinned
and it just defiles your conscience. You can't have any peace. You
know this is against my Lord. And it's that same kind of hollow
feeling and it's that same kind of painful feeling. And it's troubling. But it's
needful. God, just like He did this woman,
why did He do this? Why did He give her this issue
of blood? God must make us know our need. And God must keep us
knowing our need. We don't go to the doctor if
we're not sick. And He has to keep you knowing your need to
keep you coming to the great physician. So this was of the
Lord. This was the Lord showing her
need. Now secondly, The Lord sovereignly works this
to make us know and works in our life to make us know no one
else can heal us. No one else can heal us. It says
here she went, well Mark says this, he says she went to an
earthly physician Then she went to another one, then she went
to another one, and another one. And Mark said this in Mark 5,
26, she suffered many things of many physicians. And it spent
all that she had and nothing better. But rather she grew worse. She grew worse. Now so-called
faith healers, they've used scripture like this. to speak against going
to an earthly physician when you're sick. If you're sick,
go to an earthly physician. If you're sick, go to a doctor.
We're thankful for doctors. Go see a doctor if you're sick.
But the truth of the matter is, no earthly physician has ever
healed anybody. It's the Lord that heals. Even
bodily sickness, it's the Lord that heals. The great physician
guides the earthly physician if there's a surgery or if they're
administering medicine, and he has to make it effectual in you
to heal you. Healing is all of him. It's of
him. Now, Christ could have done that
with any of these physicians this lady went to see. He could
have made what they did for her, he could have guided them, he
could have made it work and made her healed, but he didn't do
that. Why not? Our great physician was making
this woman see nobody could heal her. It's that simple. Nobody could heal her. One old writer likened these
doctors to various forms of vain religion. Dr.. Free will you know? He's going to prescribe you Steps
a B and C on how to be born again You gonna you gonna you know? Walk, and I'll come forth He'll
use a scripture like this Lord having her confess Confess her
need publicly when you need to come forth and And they'll turn
a confession into what Brother Chris Cunningham calls a bragamony
instead of a testimony. Each one trying to outdo the
other one about their sin. And he'll take you in the back
and you'll pray through. Some of y'all here have been
here under the gospel and you haven't seen this. If you grew
up where I grew up, you've seen this. This is prevalent where
I grew up. I used my mother just to have
somebody to babysit me before she knew the gospel. Would take
me to an Armenian free will vacation Bible school. I've been walked
through and prayed through. And they'll make you pray through.
And you'll make a profession. They'll tell you to do that.
You'll be baptized. They'll tell you to do that. Join a church.
Now you're born again. Now you're healed. And from then
on, it just really don't matter,
really. That's really what it amounts
to. You just live like you want to pretty much, but show up now
and then, keep your church name on a roll, or your name on a
church roll. But then you got Dr. Farrisee.
He takes you to the law, gets you good and beat down with the
law, And then as soon as he scares a confession out of you, he takes
you right back to the law. Takes you right back to the law.
See, Dr. Freewill says you have to take
the first step and God will do the rest. Dr. Farrisee says,
no, God has to draw you to him and he has to work that, then
you have to help him out on the back end. There's a lot of different other
forms of this, but it's will worship, it's self-salvation,
it's bad medicine, it's voodoo, it's witchcraft. And here's what
all of them, all of them may disagree on various things, they
agree on it's up to your will and your works, but here's something
else they all agree on, they want your money. She spent everything
she had. She spent everything she had.
Brethren, grace is free. Grace is free. Everything involved
with salvation is free by the grace of God. Faith, repentance,
righteousness, holiness, eternal life is the gift of God's grace
in and by the Lord Jesus Christ. It's free. It's free. God chose His people freely by
grace. Our Lord Jesus came into this
world and took flesh and laid down His life as a substitute
of His people freely by His grace. The Spirit of God freely, by
grace, gives to His child all things that pertain to life and
godliness. It's free. Our Lord said, you've
sold yourselves for nothing, you'll be redeemed without money.
You know the word of Peter, he says to his elect, you were not
redeemed with corruptible things as silver and gold by the tradition
received from your fathers, but with the precious blood of Christ,
with the precious blood of Christ, that's how we were redeemed,
that's how we were purchased. It didn't cost us anything, but
it cost him everything. as a lamb without blemish and
without spot who was verily foreordained before the foundation of the
world what was manifest in this last time for you. He came for
His people, and it's by Him that we believe in God. That's important. He redeemed us, and He's going
to also cleanse us. It's by Him that we believe in
God that raised Him from the dead. God gave Him this glory
to call you and teach you, just like He's doing this woman right
here, so that your faith and hope might be in God. Might be
in God. That's why our Lord said in Isaiah
55, hold everyone that thirsteth. Are you thirsty? Do you need
salvation? Come to the waters. He that hath
no money, come by and come eat. How do you do that without money?
Come by wine and milk without money and without price. Why
are you spending money for that which is not bread and labor
for that which will not satisfy? Here's how it's free. He says,
hearken diligently unto me. He said, incline your ear and
come to me. Our Redeemer has accomplished
the work. He says, come to me. Here in
your soul shall live. I'll make an everlasting covenant
with you, even the sure mercies of David." That's the sure mercies
of our Lord Jesus Christ. He accomplished the whole covenant
of grace for his people. He'll make with you that covenant
ordered in all things and sure. The Lord said, I've given him
to be a witness to the people. He's the one that's going to
bear witness in our heart. I've given him to be a leader
of the people and a commander of the people. He's the one leading
and teaching and guiding and correcting and going to deliver
us all the way to glory to be with him. That's what he's doing
in this woman. These physicians not only didn't
help her, she grew worse. She grew worse. There's no cure
in ourselves. There's no cure in any man for
the sin and troubles that we have. We only make it worse. We put our hand to it. It's a
corrupt hand that's going to corrupt it more. There's only
one great physician. That's the Lord Jesus Christ.
He's the focus of this passage. You know what our Lord's doing
for this woman? He's doing what He just declared a little earlier
in the chapter. Look back at verse 10. This is
what He's doing. He came to Paris, as Jesus said,
at meeting the house. Behold, many publicans and sinners
came and sat down with him and his disciples. They felt comfortable
coming and sitting down with the Redeemer. And when the Pharisees
saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your master with publicans
and sinners? When Jesus heard, he said to
them, They that behold need not a physician, but they that are
sick. But go ye and learn what that
meaneth. I'll have mercy, not sacrifice. For I'm not come to
call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. He's the one doing
the calling here. And he's calling a sinner. That's
what we have pictured here in this woman with this issue of
blood. She was a sinner. That's why she had the issue
of blood. He's working everything in providence to bring her to
himself. First of all, to show us our
sin, to show us our need. Secondly, to show us nobody else
can heal. I'm not talking about just something
that started a long time ago. I'm talking about right now. We need Him to heal us every
day and keep us knowing this every day. He's the only one
that can heal. And he never stops working this
in the life of his child. Believer, whatever trial you're
going through, whatever sickness you have, I guarantee you it's
for this cause. If you're a chosen child of God,
redeemed by the blood of Christ, I guarantee you the cause of
it is to teach you more and more that you're a sinner, that you
have a dire need, is to teach you you can't cure yourself,
and is to teach you Christ is the only one that can. Thirdly, this is why the Lord
is going to bring His child to Him. He is going to bring us
to Him. Now the Gospel of Mark says in
Mark 5.27, when she had heard of Jesus. You see, it is not providence
alone that is going to work this. If God just left it to providence,
we'd attribute it to karma and luck and whatever else, mother
nature and all the things men attribute things to. God's going
to work in providence, but he's going to save through the good
news of the gospel of Christ. He's going to save us through
this word. Faith comes by hearing. That's not a one-time thing either.
Have you ever been in unbelief as a believer, as a sanctified
holy child of God? No, you can't make yourself believe. and trust Christ, then you know
faith comes by hearing. You gotta have, you gotta hear
of Him, and He gives you the faith. And what has she heard
of Him? Well, over in Luke 6, there was
a great multitude of people, and they heard about Him. And
they came to be healed of their diseases, and they were. And
this is how they were healed. The whole multitude sought to
touch Him. And there went virtue out of
him and he healed them all. She heard this. She'd heard about
him. We know she heard about him. And not only that, he'd
given her faith already. How do we know that? Because
she came to him. She heard him and she believed
and she came to him. You see, there's a far greater
work that he's working right here than just healing her of
a bodily sickness. Far greater work than that. You
see, God required that a man or a woman had an issue of blood.
God required they had to be washed, and atonement had to be made
for their sin, and a burnt offering had to be offered to God to give
God all the glory. This is what he said, Leviticus
15, 28. He said, if she be cleansed of her issue, then she shall
number to herself seven days. Now, this is after she's washed.
She'll number to herself seven days, and after that she'll be
clean. And on the eighth day, she shall take unto her two turtles,
or two young pigeons, and bring them to the priest. Two turtle
doves or two young pigeons. Bring them to the priest, to
the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and the priest
shall offer the one for a sin offering, and the other for a
burnt offering. And a priest shall make an atonement
for her before the Lord for the issues of her uncleanness. Brethren, Christ is the end of
the law. He's the end of that law. He's the end of all the
law. He's the fountain open for sin and for uncleanness. If we're
going to wash, we're going to have to do what we just sang.
We're going to have to plunge into that fountain and wash.
That's what we see her doing. She's coming to be washed. That's
what she's doing. He's the fountain open for sin.
He's the sacrifice who sacrificed himself, who justified his people,
who made atonement for our sins. He's the high priest who, having
obtained eternal redemption for His people, entered into the
holiest of holies. And He's the fountain open for
uncleanness. If this corrupt nature is going
to be taken care of, it's because Christ sanctified His people
and perfected forever His people by His one offering on the cross.
And it's through that accomplished justification and that accomplished
sanctification that the Spirit's going to wash us in regeneration. It's Christ. It's Christ. He
creates within us a new creation. a new man of incorruptible seed
through the preaching of the gospel. And that's when we know
for the first time Christ is both our righteousness and our
holiness. He gives you faith in the heart
to look to Him and know Him, that He made you whole. That means He's your righteousness
and He's your holiness. That's the only way we can be
made whole. It's what Christ just referred
to, this inward work. Back there in verse 17, he said,
men don't put new wine into old bottles, else the old bottles
break and the wine runs out and the bottles perish. They put
new wine into new bottles and both are preserved. Christ creates
this new creation, and the rest of our days our Savior is preserving
us. That's what He's doing. He never
ceases working this work in His child. He never lets us cease
hearing His gospel. He never lets us cease forgetting
we're the sinner. He never lets us cease knowing
nobody else can cure us. And He never stops drawing us
to Him who cleanses us and forgives us of our sin through confession.
That's why Peter said, to whom coming? Are you coming to Christ,
like right now, since He called you, you've been coming to Christ,
haven't you? You're on your way to glory. You're coming to Christ.
Well, every day we're coming to Christ. And we keep coming
to Christ for sin and for uncleanness every day. We got something every day we
need Him to heal us with, over, to purge us from, every day.
So let's see the result of this work, verse 20. She came behind
him, Matthew 9, 20. She came behind him and touched
the hem of his garment. For she said within herself,
this is in that new heart he's put in her. She said, if I may
but touch his garment, I shall be whole. You just picture this
woman. How'd she come to him? Well,
first of all, she came to him her own self. That's what happens
when the Lord works His. Nobody coerced her. She didn't
do this to impress somebody. She didn't do this to get in
good with somebody. She did this her own self. She saw she was
the sinner. She saw He was the Savior. She
believed Him and she herself came to Him. That's what Christ
works. That crowd couldn't turn her.
It says she came in the press. I picture her, I picture that
crowd that was thronged all around our Lord, and He's walking through
that crowd. And I picture her down in the dust on her hands
and knees, and she just reached through the crowd and touched
the hem of His garment. She had confidence in Christ.
She had hope in Christ. She had to get to Christ, and
nobody there could turn her from Him. How'd she come? She came humbly by faith. That's what coming by faith is.
She came with a broken and a contrite spirit. She came behind him.
She didn't run up in front of him. She wasn't thronging him
about, trying to crawl over other people. She came behind him and
just looked for her opportunity, and she reached out and touched
him on his garment. She knew her own personal unworthiness. She's broken. She's contrite.
She believed He could heal her if she just touched the hem of
His garment. And when she did, immediately
she was made whole. Now what did Christ do? He knew
she believed in her heart. He gave her the faith. He's God. He gave her the faith. He knew
she believed in her heart. He worked all this. He knew who
touched Him. But scripture says, with the
heart man believeth unto righteousness. She believed. But there's something
else to that. It says, with the mouth confession
is made unto salvation. And so he said, who touched me?
And they all said, we don't know who touched you. What do you
mean who touched you? Everybody's touching you. Yeah, but somebody
touched him believing. That's the difference. He gave
him faith. And virtue went out of him. Life
went into her. And when the woman saw that she
was not hid, she came trembling. She came and she fell down before
him. There's the spirit. She came
trembling. And she fell down before him. And she declared to him, before
all the people for what cause she touched him. I expect it
was about as simple as what we just read Matthew. I've had an
issue of blood for 12 years and nobody can cure me. I'm the sinner
and I believe he can cure me. And she said how that she was
healed immediately. She knew it. And she told him. I bet she spent a little time
on that. I've been to every doctor. I've done everything they've
told me to do. Nobody. He healed me. She's telling him
what great things he did. What great things he did. Christ doesn't have any secret
disciples. He gonna bring us to confess
him publicly and believe his baptism. He's going to bring
us to unite with his people. He's going to bring us to bear
witness of him before men. But there's another reason she
came secretly. I believe I know why she came
secretly. Another reason. The law forbid her to be in that
crowd. The law forbid her to be in that
crowd. Because she was unclean. Leviticus
15.25 said, all the days of the issue of her uncleanliness shall
be as the days of her separation. In other words, she got to be
separate. She shall be unclean. For 12 years, the law required
this woman not have any human contact with anybody. She was unclean. And here she
is in the middle of a big throng of people touching them and coming
to Christ. This woman had a pretty good
idea that if there'd been a Pharisee in that crowd that saw her and
knew her or a scribe who knew the letter of the law, he would
have said to her, this woman can't come in the press, she's
unclean. And if they heard that she's
washed, they would have said, she needs to be separated seven
more days. Then she has to go to the priest
and offer sacrifices. She's got to come to one of us. And they'd have scolded her and
whipped her with a log. But Christ's saints there, His
disciples there with Him, He's taught us something about
newness of spirit. And he's made you to know, he's
the end of everything that law talked about. The great physician
would have turned to a Pharisee and said to them, what God hath
cleansed, call not thou common. Because he had made it clean.
In fact, that's what he said to her. Look how he received
her. This is why he wanted to know
who she was. This is why he drew her to him
to confess to him. This is why he did it. Verse
25, this is what he said. He said that very thing to her.
He said, daughter, be of good comfort. See that, Matthew 9,
25. He said, daughter, I'm sorry. I'm in. I'm in Mark. I believe
Mark 925. He said daughter Mark 520 25.
Let me get it. Look at verse 34. This is a different
version of it, but I've got my scripture mixed up. He said,
Daughter, thy faith hath made thee all. Go in peace, and behold
of thy plague. He said, I believe it's Luke.
He said, Luke 9.25. He said, Daughter, be of good
comfort. called her daughter, he comforted her, that's compassion,
he comforted her. He's the everlasting father of
his children, so he comforted her. He said, thy faith hath
made thee whole. What do you think she said to
that? Lord, you made me whole. That's
what he said. That's exactly what he said. The object of your faith made
you whole. And the woman was made whole
from that hour. Brethren, Christ knows in our
heart that we're whole. He makes us know in our heart
we're whole. The moment He calls you to Him
and gives you faith, you know it. It just comes clearly. You know, I'm whole. He's purged
my sin. He's put away my sin. He's made
me righteous. I'm whole. And every time He works this, He makes you know. He told them,
He said, I've made you every whit hole. That's what He told
His disciples. But you need your feet washed. And He keeps working
this, and every time this faith and repentance, it's not one
time, it's ongoing, it's ongoing, and it's all of the Lord, just
like it was here with this woman the first time. And He keeps
you coming to Him for forgiveness and for cleansing. Who can understand
His errors? Cleanse thou me from secret faults.
David said, wash me thoroughly from my iniquity and cleanse
me from my sin. If we confess our sin, he's faithful
and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. That's the two things we just
saw. He justified us. He's faithful and just to forgive
us and to cleanse us. John said, I'm writing this that
you sin not. Don't sin, brethren, and if you're born in him, you
don't want to sin. I know that about you, and you know that
about me. We don't have to be unreasonable. You know that,
and I know that. But you also know this, you do.
You do. Don't you? Can you confess that
you do? But brethren, when you sin, we
have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the Righteous. And
He's the propitiation for our sins, for His people everywhere. This is what He keeps teaching
you over and over and over throughout the days of this life. As we
go through this life, anybody that has a physical sickness,
before it's over with, He's going to make you know He's the Great
Physician. That's healed you. That's what
he's gonna make his people know in their heart. Whatever he does
in your body, that's what he's gonna make you know in your heart.
It's a spiritual healing we need more than anything else. And
if he makes your body a little better, he's gonna keep you knowing
this all your days. But your body's gonna die. Mine
is too. But if it's well with your soul,
it's well. And he'll bring you home. Whole. Whole. Having a high priest over
the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart and full
assurance of faith. Having our hearts sprinkled from
an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. He will
keep his people doing that. Our Heavenly Father, we thank
you for this word. Lord, We have an issue of blood. This
center does. Your people everywhere do. Our sin nature is vile. Lord, we hate it. We hate our
sins. And Lord, nobody else can cure
us. And how we thank you that you
have made us everywhere whole. And that you continue to show
us forgiveness of sin and cleanse us and wash our feet. Lord, don't ever, ever let us
think that any other physician can
do this. Keep us knowing you are the great
physician. That you keep calling sinners
to repentance. You keep having mercy and not
sacrifice. And Lord, for our brethren who
are sick and troubled, work this in their heart. We pray for their
body. We pray, Lord, you'd be pleased
to make their health prosperous. But Lord, how we do pray that
you would make their souls to prosper. We pray this for our children.
I pray this for our neighbors, our friends, our leaders in this
country. Lord, make us whole. Make us
know you did it. For Christ's sake, we ask it.
Amen.
