This sermon centers on the doctrine of redemption through Christ, emphasizing that fallen humanity's only hope lies in a perfect sacrifice capable of satisfying divine justice and delivering individuals from sin's guilt, power, and consequences. Drawing heavily from Isaiah 63 and John 10, this message underscores that this redemption was uniquely accomplished by Jesus Christ, the God-man, who willingly laid down his life for a specifically chosen people, guaranteeing their eternal security and deliverance from sin, death, and hell through his atoning work on the cross. Ultimately, the sermon calls listeners to examine their own status as sinners and to embrace faith in Christ for salvation.

Okay. Open your Bibles, if you would,
to Isaiah chapter 65. The name of the message is Redemption
by Christ. Now, beloved God and sinner friends
who will listen to this message, the only hope for fallen, guilty,
deprived sinners is redemption. And this redemption must include
atonement for sin, satisfaction of God's law and justice, something
which we humans cannot do. And we also need complete deliverance
from the guilt of our sin, from the power of our sin, from the
dominion of our sin, and from, of course, the consequences of
our sin. And such redemption can only be accomplished by one
person. And his name is the Lord Jesus
Christ, God incarnate in the flesh, the Son of God, the Word
of God, our Savior, God incarnate in the flesh. You see, God left
heaven, the word of God, left heaven and became a man to save
his people from their sins. And the angel told Mary, thou
shall call his name Jesus, for he shall save his people from
their sins. So the only one who could accomplish
a perfect redemption for sinners is the Lord Jesus Christ. And
he's done it. I'm here to proclaim a work already
finished. It's already finished 2,000 years
ago. And he did it all by himself.
He needed no help. He needed no others. Because
we're sinners. We can't accomplish anything
for the salvation of our souls. But Christ being the sinless
one, God incarnated in the flesh, accomplished salvation for those
who the Father gave him in eternity. It's amazing. So in Isaiah chapter
63 verse 5, let's read actually verses 5 to 7, but I'm going
to read verse 5 stand alone first. So as I looked and there was
none to help, and I wondered, that there was none to uphold.
Therefore, mine own arm brought salvation unto me, and my fury
it upheld me. Isaiah 63, verse 5. Now let's
read that verse in the context of verses 5 to 7. Isaiah chapter 63, verses 5 to
7. And I looked, and there was none
to help. And I wondered that there was none to uphold. Therefore,
mine own arm brought salvation unto me, and my fury it upheld
me. And I will tread down the people
in mine anger, and make them drunk in my fury, and I will
bring down their strength to the earth. I will mention the
lovingkindness of the Lord in the praises of the Lord, according
to all that the Lord hath bestowed upon us, and the great goodness
toward the house of Israel, which he hath bestowed on them, according
to his mercies, and according to the multitude of his lovingkindness. Today we're going to look into
the doctrine of redemption. The name of the message is actually
Redemption by Christ. So we'll look quickly, shortly,
at the doctrine of redemption, which is the most important doctrine. It's one of the most important
gospel truths. Because the doctrine of redemption
by the precious blood of the Lord Jesus Christ and the fact
that he shed his blood to redeem us from our sins, which we could
never do, we could never pay for one of our sins. He paid
for all of our sins at one time at Calvary's Cross. It's so very
important, because without the shedding of blood, there's no
remission of sins. So there's no forgiveness of
sins outside of the precious, precious blood of the Lord Jesus
Christ. So it's a vital doctrine. It's a vital doctrine, and I'm
going to preach to you the truth of perfect redemption. Perfect
redemption. This redemption by Christ is
absolutely perfect. Perfect. Anything we offer the
Lord for the redemption of our souls is totally inadequate.
This is perfect. Everything that God demands for
the salvation of a sinner, Christ accomplished. Isn't that wonderful
news? That's wonderful news for sinners,
isn't it? The question is, are you a sinner? That's the question.
Has God, the Holy Spirit, shown you you're a sinner? I pray He
will. Oh, I pray you have great faith to believe on the Lord
Jesus Christ. Because God's people, we don't
find ourselves as holier than thou. We see ourselves as sinners
in desperate need of Christ. And this is a wonderful truth,
perfect redemption. It's a most glorious God-honoring
subject. And I encourage you to spend
further time and study looking at the redemption of Christ by
his precious, redemption by Christ for his people by his shedding
of his precious blood. I encourage you to look into
that and compare scripture with scripture. Compare scripture
to scripture. And each time I do a study, I
ask God the Holy Spirit to illuminate the scriptures for the hearers
that I'm going to preach to and for myself too, as I'm preaching
too. That we might have a clear understanding of the teachings
of the Holy Scriptures. Now in chapter 10, of Hebrews,
the Holy Spirit declares by the pen of the writer, for the law,
having the shadow of good things to come and not the very image
of things, can never, with those sacrifices which they offered
year by year, continually make the comers thereunto perfect.
So what the writer there is saying is that all the Old Testament
sacrifices that offered could never take away sin. But they
pointed to one who would. They were types and shadows pointing
to the Lord Jesus Christ. and they were a shadow of good
things to come. That is to say, God in the Old
Testament, under types and shadows of the law, gave many pictures
and prophecies of what he would do for his people in the giving
of his son to be the sacrifice for their sins. And all the sacrifices
offered to God in the Old Testament could never take away one sin,
not one. However, the law did have many
instructive pictures, types, and shadows of our redemption
by the blood of Christ. In each of those pictures, types,
and prophecies setting forth the redemption work of Christ,
several things are obvious. Here are three wonderful facts
that the word of God sets forth about our redemption by Christ
alone. And we'll see these three facts revealed through the scriptures. Turn if you would to John chapter
10. John chapter 10, oh my. Number one, the first point of
the three points is this. The redemption portrayed and
promised in the Old Testament was revealed only to a chosen
people. Only the nation of Israel had
the Passover. None of the other nations around
had the Passover, did they? The Passover wasn't for Egypt,
it wasn't for Syria, it wasn't for Iraq, it wasn't for Iran,
it wasn't for any of the Persian countries at all. It was only
for the Jews. Only the nation of Israel had
the Passover sacrifice and the promise of a Redeemer because
only the Israel of God, God's elect, are the people for whom
Christ, the true Passover, was sacrificed. Christ was sacrificed
for the elect of God, for all the people that God gave to Christ
in eternity past. Listen to this in John chapter
10, starting in verse 11. I am the good shepherd, the Lord
says. The good shepherd given his life
for who? The sheep. There's a specific people there.
Then if you go further down in verse 14 to 16, he says, I am
the good shepherd and know my sheep. He knows them intimately
there in the Greek. And I'm knowing of mine. As the
father knoweth me, even so I know the father. And I lay down my
life for who? The sheep, amen, the sheep. Not
for everybody in this world, but for the sheep. And the sheep
are a multitude that no man can number, and we don't know who
they are, but God knows every one of them. He knows everyone. He says, another sheep I have
which are not of this fold, right? That's speaking of us Gentiles.
Oh my. Them also I must bring, and they
shall hear my voice, and there shall be one fool and one shepherd. Look at that. Don't you love
those shells? Don't you love those shells? Oh my. The second
point of this wonderful redemption in Christ is the redemption sacrifice
was made that was made was offered to God. See, we've sinned against
God, haven't we? That's who we sinned against.
So the sacrifice was offered up to God the Father, and it
was accepted by God. The Lord Jesus Christ offered
Himself up as a ransom, right? As a payment. His blood was shed
as a payment for our eternal souls. We sinned against God.
He's perfect. He's sinless. but he's the sent
Passover Lamb of God, sent by God the Father for this very
reason, to save his people from their sins. For a specifically
chosen people named by God himself, and they're the ones Christ calls
his sheep. They're called the elect in the
scriptures. They're called saints in the scriptures. Oh my. And even so, our Lord Jesus Christ
died for those people given to him by the Father in the covenant
of grace before the world began. He said, I lay down my life for
the sheep we saw. He didn't say, I lay down my
life for everybody, but yet that's what people say. They're lying
on God, aren't they? Let's be honest. They're putting
something in the scriptures that's not even in the scriptures. He
says, I lay down my life for the sheep. Then he said, of the
sheep I have that are not of this fold and not of Israel,
not speaking of us Gentiles, them also I must bring, and they
shall hear my voice, and there shall be one fold and one shepherd.
They shall hear his voice. He's not going to lose one of
them for whom he died. So marvel, then, if you're a
born-again, blood-washed sheep of God. You're gods by choice. You're gods by choice in Christ
from eternity. You're gods by redemption, by
the precious blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, the God-man, saving
you and dying for you at Calvary's cross. And oh, you're gods by
rebirth, by being born again by the power of God, the Holy
Spirit. My soul. We're gods by his regenerating
power. We've been born again by the power of God, the Holy
Spirit, given faith to believe. on God's sheep, or God's lamb,
the Lord Jesus Christ. And we say, glory be to God,
salvations of the Lord. The last point is redemption
portrayed the effectual deliverance of those for whom it was accomplished.
Every soul for whom the Passover lamb was slain walked out of
Egypt. There wasn't one left behind. And how did they walk out of
Egypt? By the power of God, didn't they? They didn't walk out by
themselves, God delivered them, didn't he? Oh, he delivered them. He delivered them. He even saw
every sinner for whom the Son of God made atonement by his
substitutionary death at Calvary's cross shall be delivered from
the curse of God's holy law from the penalty of their sins, from
the judgment of their sins, and they shall be saved from sin,
death, and hell, all by the merit and all by the power of the Lord
Jesus Christ in him alone. They all must be saved, beloved,
and they all shall be saved. Every one of his sheep must be
saved, and every one of his sheep shall be saved. Isn't that glorious?
Isn't that glorious? Oh, my. Listen to these words,
I'll close with these words, John chapter 10 verse 28 to 29.
He says, I give unto them eternal life and they shall never perish.
Neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. Look at that.
I'll read that again. And I give unto them eternal
life. Christ is the giver of eternal life. He's the one who
obtained it, right, by the shedding of his precious blood, and he's
the giver of eternal life. And the scripture says that they
shall never perish. Isn't that wonderful? What comfort.
What joy that can bring to us. What assurance that can give
the people of God who are born again by his Holy Spirit. Neither
shall any man pluck them out of my hand. We're not going to
get plucked out of the Lord's hand. We're in a double grip
of God, beloved. God the Father has us in his
hand, and God the Son has us in his hand. And then we're sealed
by the Holy Spirit of promise. Oh, my. Then he says this in
John 10, 29 to 30. My Father which gave to me is
greater than all, and no man is able to pluck them out of
my Father's hand. I and my Father are one. Look at that double
grip. He says, neither shall any man pluck them out of my
hand, in verse 28 of John chapter 10. And then he says, and no
man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. I and the
Father are one. I say this, praise God for the
redemption that's in the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
