May the Lord enable us to sing
number 19 from the heart as a prayer to him. Let's stand together. Tom, you come, please. Number
19 in the Spiral Notebook. Can I spiral him? ? Prostrate at your feet I fall
? You are holy, wise and just ? I'm a creature of the dust
? All things move at your command ? Governed by your mighty hand
? Heaven, earth, and hell I seek ? ? Fulfill all your wise decree
? ? Dares a man resist his Lord ? ? Stand against the sovereign
God ? ? I will bow before your throne ? Seeking grace in Christ
your Son Through His blood and righteousness Lord, I plead for
you with grace If you will, you can, I know Grace and mercy to
me show Will you, Lord, my soul forgive? Grant this sinner grace
to live. I've no other hope but this,
Jesus' blood and righteousness. Now I'm conquered by your grace. In the dust I hide my face. Give me Christ or else I die. I, upon your grace, rely. O for mercy now I plead. Grant me, Lord, the grace I need. Turn, O turn to me and say, all
your sins are washed away. In my Son, your debt is paid. He, for you, the ransom made. Please be seated, Celeste. There were ninety and nine that
safely lay in the shelter of the bold. But one was out on the hills
away, far off from the gates of gold. Away on the mountains, wild and
bare, away from the tender shepherd's care. ? Away from the tender
shepherd's care ? ? Lord thou hast here thy nine
in nine ? ? Are they not enough for thee ? But the shepherd maiden,
so this of mine, has wandered away from me. And although the road be rough
and steep, I go to the desert to find my sheep. I go to the desert to find my
sheep, but none knew how deep were the waters
crossed. Nor how dark was the night that
the Lord passed through, ere he found his sheep that was lost. The desert, he heard it cry,
Sick and helpless and ready to die. Sick and helpless and ready
to die. Lord, when saw those blood drops
all the way that mark out the mountain's track? They were shed for the one who
had gone astray, where the shepherd could bring him back. Lord, whence are thy hands so
raped and torn, Thou pierced tonight by many a thorn? Thou pierced tonight by many
a thorn? ? Through the mountains thundering
? ? And up from the rocky steep ? ? There arose a glad cry to
the gates of heaven ? ? Rejoice, I have found my sheep ? ? When
the angels sing her round the throne ? ? Rejoice, for the Lord
brings back his own ? ? Rejoice, for the Lord brings back his
own ? There's a particular type of
preaching that I love. It's preaching that makes me
know I'm saved. That's preaching that makes me
wonder whether or not I'm saved or not. I hate it. I hate it. You see, any time you hear preaching
that makes you look to yourself in any way, well, there's trouble. Thank you for that message. And
I say to the folks from Lexington here, that's what I've been trying
to say, too. That was such a blessing. Would you turn to First John
Chapter 3. First John Chapter 3. My prayer for this message after
preaching it is that you will know that you're saved or that you'll know you're not
saved and God will save you that is our desire 1st John chapter 3 verse 23 and this is his commandment that we should believe on the
name of his son, Jesus Christ, and love one another as he gave
us commandment. This is his commandment. This is not some man's commandment,
This is not some soul winner's commandment. This is not one
of the commandments of human religion, and there's so much
of that, so much of that. The Lord warned of those people
who teach for doctrines the commandments of men. And that's what most
religion is made of, the commandments of men. I think of all the different
denominations, Baptist, Methodist, Presbyterian, I think a Protestant,
Catholic, I think of all of those things. You don't read about
them in the Bible, do you? All the man-made rules and regulations
that are of no benefit whatsoever, they're a positive hindrance.
I'm not talking about those commandments. This is His commandment. And this is His commandment. This is not about an offer offered
to you up for your acceptance or rejection. This is his commandment. This is not good advice. This is not an invitation that
you can receive or decide not to receive. This is his commandment. You know, if I reject an offer,
I may hurt myself. It may be for my bad rather than
good. I might have been better off
accepting that offer, but it's not an act of rebellion to not
accept an offer. It's not an act of disobedience. If I'm invited somewhere and
I choose not to receive that invitation, Well, I might have
hurt myself, but it's not an act of rebellion for me to not
accept an invitation. Maybe I have something else to
do. If you give me good advice and I don't take it, well, you
probably think, well, he hurt himself. That's true. But if
I don't take your advice, it's not disobedience. But this is
his commandment. This is his Commandment. If I'm commanded to do something
and I don't do it, it's overt disobedience, isn't it? This
is his commandment. Now, let me say a couple of things
about this commandment. If I fail to obey this commandment, I will spend eternity in hell. I don't like talking about hell.
I really don't. When I hear preachers who almost
seem like they enjoy talking about it, it bothers me. I don't
know much about hell. I know it's an awful place. And
I know that everybody intuitively knows that God is going to reward
the righteous and punish the wicked. Everybody in here knows
that. No doubt about it. And if I fail
to obey this commandment, I'm going to be one of those people
who are punished eternally by the justice of God. And I don't
want to be one of those people, do you? I do not want to be one
of those people. And my right and warrant to obey
this commandment is because it's His commandment. If I command
you to do something, you don't have to say, well, do I have
a right to do it? You're commanded to do it. You're
commanded to do it. This is his commandment to you. You don't need to worry about
whether or not you're one of the elect. You don't need to
worry about whether or not Christ died for you. You don't need
to worry about whether you've been born from above. This is
his commandment to you. Do I have a right to believe
on his name? You're commanded to believe on
his name. You are commanded, whatever that means, you are
commanded by God to believe on his name and the right and the
ability comes with the command. Now, do you remember that man
who had the withered hand? I mean, he was withered. He could
not. He had complete inability to
stretch that hand forth. When Christ said, stretch forth
thy hand, it was his command. You know what he did? He stretched
forth his hand. The right and the ability comes
with his command. And when he told that man to
stretch forth his hand, he didn't invite him to do it. He didn't
offer to do something for him. He said, stretch forth your hand.
The Lord only speaks by command. That's who he is. He only speaks
by command. Oh, may God command me to believe
his gospel. Now, this puts everybody on the
same level. Your only hope is to believe
on his name. my hopes world there's no difference you take the most
righteous man you've ever known the most moral man with the most
moral integrity and you take the most vile wicked man you've
ever known there's no difference no difference all have sinned
and come short of the glory of god there's no difference The
only hope you and I have is involved in believing on his name and
understand this. This doesn't have anything to
do with what you believe about yourself. It doesn't have it. Somebody says, I believe I'm
saved. That doesn't mean you are. It sure doesn't. And it doesn't matter what you
believe about yourself because faith has absolutely nothing
to do with what you believe about yourself. Nothing. I believe
I'm saved. Well, that's not faith. That's
not faith. I believe I'm one of the elect.
That's not faith. I believe I've been born again.
That's not faith. Faith has nothing to do with
what you believe about yourself personally. You remember that
Ethiopian eunuch? What hinders me from being baptized?
If you believe with all your heart, you may. He didn't say,
I believe with all my heart I'm saved or that I'm one of the
elect or that Christ died for me. He said, I believe that Jesus
Christ is the son of God. Faith has wholly to do with what
you believe about him and absolutely nothing to do with what you believe
about yourself. And let me prove that from the
scripture before I go on. You remember when the Lord prayed
for Peter. What did he pray for? That his
faith fail not. Now after Peter failed, Peter
failed, he failed miserably. And I have no doubt that after
that Peter believed he was not saved. I know that because the
Lord told the angel, or told the women, you go tell my disciples
and Peter. You see, Peter didn't believe
he was a disciple. He denied the Lord as far as he could tell.
You go tell the disciples and Peter. Peter would have just
assumed you wasn't talking about him. You go tell the disciples
and Peter. Now, Peter didn't believe he
was saved. He didn't believe he was a disciple.
He didn't believe the Lord had done anything for him. He really
didn't. But he never quit believing that
Jesus Christ is the son of God. And that's what faith is. What
do you believe concerning him? Wouldn't it be a blessing if
we just forget ourselves right now? What do you believe concerning
him? This is His commandment that
you believe on the name of His Son, Jesus Christ. Not believe that you're saved
or that you're elect or that Christ died for you. Not do you
have a proper sense and remorse over sin. Not have you turned
from your sin and not returned to it. Not do something in order
to make you ready to receive grace. Nothing. believe on the name of his son. Now, this thing of believing
on the name of his son, the name is the person behind the name. When you think of John Doe, who
do you think of? You don't have a face, do you?
You know it's a real indistinct, But when you think of your pastor,
Greg Elmquist, there's a particular unique individual that you're
thinking of. You know his character. You know
his attributes. You know him. It's a person. You don't think
of G-R-E-G-E-L-M-Q-U-I-S-T. I think I spelled it right. You
think of the person behind the name. With regard to the name of each
one of you that I know, there is a unique person behind that
name. Now, turn with me for a moment
to Exodus chapter 33. Now, the setting of this prayer of Moses is after
the children of Israel have made a golden calf and worshipped
it. How quickly they went back to
idolatry. Idolatry is calling something
God that isn't God. That's idolatry. And how quickly
they've gone back to idolatry. Moses is praying for them. And what a type of Christ Moses
is, because you know, when he prayed for somebody, Lord answered
his prayer. I'd like to have Moses praying
for me, but it's to typify the Lord praying for me. But he was
praying for these people that had committed this evil, evil
sin. And during the course of this
prayer, Moses said in verse 18, I beseech thee, Show me thy glory. And you think of all the things
that Moses had seen. He'd seen the 10 plagues. He knew who the Lord was. And
he'd seen the Lord do all these great things when he goes into
Pharaoh and says, the Lord said, let my people go. And Pharaoh
said, who is the Lord that I should obey him? I just love to think
of Moses thinking, he's fixing to find out. He had seen the manna come down
from heaven. He'd seen the rock smitten in
the water gushing out. He'd seen the giving of the law. And he says, I beseech you, show
me your glory. And look at this answer, verse
19. And he said, I'll make all my
goodness pass before thee. You know, his goodness is his
capacity to save somebody like me or you. That is the goodness
of God. And I will proclaim the name
of the Lord before thee. There's that name we're to believe
on. I'll proclaim the name of the Lord before thee and will
be gracious to whom I will be gracious. Now he will be gracious
and he'll be gracious to whom he will be gracious. It's sovereign
grace. That means he decides whether
or not you're going to get grace. You have any problem with that?
If you believe you're a sinner, you don't. The only reasons I
might have a problem with that is they really don't believe
they're a sinner and they've got some kind of entitlement
with God. God ought to do this for me. If you believe that way,
you won't like this. But if you believe you're a sinner,
Lord, if you will, you can make me clean. I'll be gracious to
whom I will be gracious. I'll show mercy. on whom I will
show mercy. Like I said, that's good news
to every sinner. Now look down in verse five.
This is after he is proclaiming his name, verse five. And the
Lord descended in the cloud and stood with him there and proclaimed
the name of the Lord. And the Lord passed by before
him and proclaimed him the Lord, the Lord God, Jehovah Almighty. merciful and gracious and long
suffering and abundant in goodness and truth, keeping mercy for
thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin. And
that will by no means clear the guilty. Visiting the iniquity
of the fathers upon the children and upon the children's children
under the third and the fourth generation. And Moses made haste. He hit the dirt and he worshiped.
That's the only response to his name. Worship. Worship. That's who he is. Isaiah 9, 6, unto us a child
is born, unto us a son is given, and his name shall be called
Wonderful. Counselor. And that word counselor,
it's a verb, it's not a noun. It's not somebody to get good
advice from. That means he counsels, he decrees, whatever he wills
is done. That's who we're dealing with,
the wonderful counselor, the mighty God. This is what his
name is called, the mighty God, the everlasting Father, the Prince
of Peace. That's his name. Matthew 121, thou shalt call
his name, Jesus. for he shall save his people from their sins
and beloved that's exactly what I need. I need to be saved from
my sins because I sure can't save myself from my sins. I can't
do anything about my sin. I can't do anything about it.
I need him to save me from my sins. He saves from the Penalty of
sin means you won't go to hell. He says from the power of sin,
I mean, sin doesn't have dominion over you. Let me tell you what
that means to say sin doesn't have dominion because somebody
hears that and says, well, it seems like it's got a lot of dominion in me. When you didn't think it did,
that's when it had complete dominion. That's when it had complete control
over you. You were utterly helpless before
it. I've been saved from the dominion
of sin in the sense that I've been given a new nature that
sees my sinfulness. And I need to be saved from the
very presence of sin. Glorification. Thou should call
his name Jesus for he shall save his people from their sins. I love Romans 10, 13. Whosoever
shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. I love the word whosoever. And
I can honestly say I like that word better than if it said my
name. Because there's other Todd Nyberts.
But I'm a whosoever. I'm a whosoever. Whosoever shall call. Here's
the important, help! Save me! Give me your mercy for Christ's
sake. That's calling. Help. You know the prayer that
most often comes out of my heart is, Lord, save me. Save me. I don't quit praying that prayer.
Save me. But here's the important part
of this. Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord. There's
the important part. The name of the Lord is who he
is. Now, when I call upon the name of the Lord, I'm saying,
Lord, Save me by an act of your justice. Save me in a way that
honors your law. Save me as an act of your sovereign
will. Command my salvation. Save me
by irresistible and invincible grace. Save me by your wisdom
where you've made a way to be just and justify the ungodly.
I'm calling upon all of his attributes to save me. It's not just naming
his name audibly. Can you do that right now? While
I'm talking, Lord, I'm calling on your name, save me. Save me,
save me by who you are. Whosoever shall call upon the
name of the Lord shall be saved. Oh, the importance of his name.
He said to Pharaoh, even for this same purpose, if I raised
you up, that I might show my power in thee and that my name
might be declared. throughout all the earth. This
is the name that's the key to the forgiveness of sins. Now,
would you ask me what my greatest need is? Well, I'm going to tell
you even if you don't ask me, my greatest need is the forgiveness
of sins. That's my greatest need, the
forgiveness of sins. Little children, your sins have
been forgiven. for this one singular reason. His name's sake. 1 John 2.12. Turn with me for
a moment to Psalm 106. Verse 6. Now here's the confession of
sin. Verse 6, we have sinned with our fathers. We have committed
iniquity. We have done wickedly. Now, that's the confession of
sin, not candy coating it. This is me. Let's go on reading. Verse 7, we're just like our
fathers. Our fathers understood not thy
wonders in Egypt and were just as stupid as they were. They
remembered not the multitude of thy mercies, and were just
as forgetful as they were. They provoked Him at the sea,
even at the Red Sea, and were just as provoking with our sin.
Nevertheless, He saved them. In spite of all this, He saved
them. Why? For His namesake. Be ye kind, tender-hearted, forgiving
one another, even as God, for Christ's sake, hath forgiven
you. No other reason is needed. His name's sake. John 20, 31 says, But these things
are written, that you might believe that Jesus is the Christ, and
that believing you might have life through His name. Now, you and I are commanded
by God right now to believe on his name. Not telling you to get something
straightened up or straightened out or stop doing this or start
doing that. If I give you something like
that, all I'm doing is making one of those impediments you're
talking about first message believe this is God's command to you
believe on His name. Sirs, what must I do to be saved? Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ
and thou shalt be saved. I don't care how much you know
or how little you know you're commanded to believe on
the name of his son. You see he's the son of God.
He's the eternal uncreated son of God who created all things.
He's the Lord. That means he's in absolute control.
He's Jesus. He's the Savior. He saves people. And he's God's Christ. He's God's
anointed prophet. He's the word of God. He's God's
priest. If he represents you to God,
you're saved. He's God's king. And as a king,
he can cause you to believe. That's what I need him as my
king. I need him to cause me to believe, to cause me to walk
in it. Believe. This is God's command.
Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved. Now understand this. To believe
doesn't simply mean to believe in his existence. Somebody says,
I believe in God. So does the devil. He does too. It's not talking about just believing
in his existence. Everybody believes in existence.
Like I said to you, there's nobody by nature that's an atheist. You're born into this world knowing
somebody made this and nobody made him. We all have some understanding
of his eternal power and Godhead. Everybody believes God is. God
exists. But when he's talking about this
kind of faith, he's not talking about believe that God exists.
Now, what is this thing of believing on his name? I want to talk about
this thing of believing. What does it mean to believe
on his name? Well, he's got a lot of names in the scripture. Let
me just give you one. Jehovah Tsidkenu, the Lord our righteousness. You believe on his name when
you believe the only righteousness you have is the righteousness
and merits of Jesus Christ. That's what it is to believe
on his name. You really believe that his righteousness
is the only righteousness that God can accept and the only one
you even want to have. You're just like Paul, oh, that
I'm in Christ and be found in Him. When God comes looking for
me, I said this to the church Wednesday night, when God comes
looking for me, I would like for Him to find me reading the
Bible or praying or at least not committing some kind of sin.
But that's not the desire of the believer. The desire of the
believer is to simply be found in the Lord Jesus Christ so that
all God sees is Jesus Christ. That is believing on his name.
I'm trusting and relying on his name alone as my only grounds
of acceptance. I love the term looking. Looking. What were the children of Israel
commanded to do when the serpents were there? Look. Now, what kind of temptation
would it be to look down at the ground and keep the snakes away?
I'd be looking for ways to get rid of him or not get bit by
him anyway, but they were not commanded to do that. Not to
try to keep away from the... Look. Look away from everything
else and look only to him. Now you look only to him when
he's all you see. You look only to him when he's
all you need. when he's all you have, and when
he's all you want. Then you've looked to him. Only when you look to him as
a sinner, knowing his righteousness is the only righteousness there
is, and you know he's all you need, he's all you want, but maybe
most importantly, he's all you have. Faith is described as resting. I love it. What are you doing
when you're resting? You're not doing nothing. It's that simple. He that's entered into his rest
hath ceased from his own works as God did from his. Now that's
what faith is. It's to cease from your own works
and rest in his works. I love that passage of scripture
in Colossians chapter two, verse seven. As you receive Christ
Jesus, the Lord. Now, how'd you receive him? How'd
you receive him? I received him as an empty handed
sinner with no hope but him. As you received Christ Jesus,
the Lord. That's how you walk. Just the
way you received him, walk in him. Now this is God's commandment. This is God's commandment. And
you know, you only keep this commandment if you really believe
yourself to be a sinner. Sometimes I wonder if I really
believe myself to be the chief of sinners. I say it, and I really
believe it. But if you agree with me that
I am, I might get a little ruffled. Right now I believe I am. Right
now. Don't agree with me, but right
now I believe I am. It's easy to have Christ is all
when you have nothing. And let me remind you. This is
his commandment to you and the reason for you to obey this command
is not found in you. It's because he commands you. Believe. on the Lord Jesus Christ. And there's one other thing in
our text. Turn back to 1 John 3. It's not really another thing.
It's a part of the same thing. This is what happens when people
believe. This is what happens when people believe. Verse 23, and this is a commandment
that we should believe on the name of His Son, Jesus Christ,
and love one another as He gave us commandment. You remember
when he said, this is my commandment, that you love one another as
I have loved you. And this is a part of this verse,
and it's not something different. It's just what happens when people
believe. They love. They love. You know, I remember
a dear lady that attended our church for several years, and
she came and said she was moving somewhere where there was no
gospel and I said you know if if the Lord's done something
for you you're gonna love his people you're gonna love his people
and she said well I can't really say that I do Paul said in first Corinthians
14 1 make love your aim Pursue it. Make love your aim, your
goal. Charity. You want a goal? I want to love people. And I'm
talking about the love he gives in the new birth. I'm not just
talking about love between a man and a woman and a parent and
child and so on. I'm talking about this supernatural
love that comes as a result of being saved by the grace of God.
I want to love folks. What's involved in that? Well,
I turn to 1 Corinthians 13. Though I speak with the tongues
of men and of angels and have not charity, I am become as a
sounding brass or a tinkling cymbal. Though I have the gift
of prophecy and understand all mysteries and all knowledge and
though I have all faith so that I can remove mountains and have
not charity, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods
to feed the poor and though I give my body to be burned as a martyr
in the cause of God and truth and have not charity, nothing. Nothing. Charity, It's long-suffering
and it's kind. Charity envies not. You don't
envy somebody you love. Charity vaunteth not itself.
It doesn't try to push itself on you to make you love it. It
doesn't brag on itself. It's not puffed up. It doesn't
behave itself unseemly and rude. It seeketh not her own. It's not easily provoked. It's
not touchy. It thinks no evil. It doesn't
keep record of wrongs. It rejoices not in iniquity,
but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, and that
means covers with silence all things. Love covers a transgression. It believes all things. It hopes all things. It endures
all things. Charity never fails. This is his commandment. that
you believe on the name of his son and love one another as he
gave you commandment. Now this command to love one
another. You know, a lot of God's people are lovable, aren't they?
It's easy to love them. Some of them aren't that easy.
I'm probably, no, I'm one of them. So I hope I'm not being
too harsh when I say that, but some of them aren't easy. But
I'm not commanded to love somebody because they're lovable. I'm
commanded to love somebody because they're the brethren. one with
the Lord Jesus Christ. He said, inasmuch as you did
it to the least of these, my brethren, you've done it unto
me. Inasmuch as you did it not to the least of these, my brethren,
you've done it not to me. You see, the brethren are those
who are united to the Lord Jesus Christ. Both he that sanctifieth
and they who are sanctified are all of one, for the which cause
he's not ashamed to call them brethren. Now there's a A term
in the scripture that's used so often, it's called one another. One another. Very simple. Let me read these to you. Be
of the same mind one to another. Romans 14, 13, let us not judge
one another anymore. Not again. I know you find this
to be true. You know, whenever you say something
harsh and judgmental about somebody, don't you have some kind of thing,
and you hypocrite, you hypocrite. Well, if you thought that, you
were thinking right. You were thinking right. Romans 2.1 says,
thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judges.
For you that judge do the same things. Let's not judge one another
anymore. Romans 14, 19, edify, build up
one another. Romans 15, 5, be like-minded
one toward another. Romans 15, 7, receive one another
as he received us. We're told to admonish one another.
I don't want to be one of those people who's so offended every
time I'm admonished. I'm afraid I am, but I wish it
wouldn't be that way. Salute one another. With a holy
kiss, speak respectfully of one another. Defraud not one another. Have the same care of one for
another. By love, serve one another. Bear ye one another's burdens
and forbear one another in love. You know what that means? That
means put up with one another. Put up with one another. You know, there's a lot of things
we just ought to overlook. Just overlook it. Be kind one to another, forgiving
one another, submitting to one another, being
subject one to another. These are scriptures. Philippians
2, 3, esteem the other as better than you. 1 Thessalonians 5, 15, comfort
one another with these words. Hebrews 10, 24, consider one
another to provoke unto love. and to good works. I'd like to
provoke you to love me. Instead of provoke you to, you
can't stand me. That's what he said. Provoke
one another to love and good works. James 411, speak not evil
one of another, brethren. Don't be critical. Grudge not one against another. Don't hold a grudge, that's so
ugly. I love this. Wish I'd learned something about
it. Confess your faults one to another. Now, that doesn't mean
confess your sins. Don't do that. But don't put
on some kind of pie show. Be real. I'm a sinner saved by
grace. Confess your faults one to another.
Don't try to pretend to be something you're not, to try to impress
people with your piety. Sure doesn't impress God. Confess
your faults one to another. Be in agreement with one another
concerning who you are and who Christ is. Use hospitality one
to another. Now, that's what people do when
they love one another. Believe on the name. This is
His command. This is real simple. It's real
simple. Here's His command to you. This
is what you're commanded to do, what I'm commanded to do. to
believe on the name of his son Jesus Christ, to believe that
his name and only his name brings me into the very presence of
God, accepted, perfect, without spot. That's what his name does. And to love one another as he
gave us commandment. May the Lord enable everybody
in this room to be obedient to this command right now. A man asked the Lord one time,
What work can I do to work the works of God? How can I get to
heaven? And the Lord Jesus Christ said,
this is the work of God. This is God's work for you, is
what he was saying, that you believe on him whom he has sent. Might God do a work of grace
in each of our hearts, enabling us to believe on the Lord Jesus
Christ. Todd, thank you, brother. Thank
you all for coming. John, thank you. Clay, appreciate you all
so much. Thankful for our guests. And
I think our folks are the best hosts in the whole world, and
I'm thankful for them. So we're going to have some time
to love one another and enjoy a meal together. So Tom, we're
going to close the service with a hymn. Number 30. Number 30.
Number 30. And John Chapman, after we sing
this hymn, would you close the service with a word of prayer,
please? Thank you. Number 30 in the spiral hymn
book. Glory, glory, I'm forgiven. All my sins are washed away. Christ, by His great blood atonement,
? All my sin has put away ? Sin imputed to my Savior ? When he
died upon the tree ? As the substitute for sinners ? God will not impute
to me Glory, glory, I'm accepted, robed in Christ's own righteousness. ? A child and heir of heaven
? ? Saved by God's almighty grace ? ? Christ's obedience to the
Father ? ? Is imputed now to me ? ? In God's sight I'm pure
and holy ? He declares me so to be. Glory, glory, I'll not
perish. In Christ's hands I am secure. He who saved me sure will keep
me. By God's grace I shall endure. This is not a vain presumption. I just take him at his word. Christ has sworn they shall not
perish who believe on me their Lord. Thank you, Father, for giving
us a desire and the ability to be here, to hear the word preached. You enabled thy two servants
this morning to preach the gospel to us. Thank you for the Lord
Jesus Christ.
