Good evening. This is a treat. I just put Lynn Nybert right
on the spot, and she's going to play piano. She said, no problem.
So what a treat. We're going to open this evening's
service with hymn number 50 and the softback hymnal number 50,
For the Glory of His Grace. Let's all stand together. We were ruined by the fall, Adam's
sin defiles us all. By our deeds as by our birth,
we deserve the law's great curse. Helpless, hopeless sinners we,
never can our souls retrieve. But the blessed Son of God Came
as man in flesh and blood He fulfilled the law's demands And
in death stretched out his hands On the cross of Calvary Christ
redeemed and set us free In the time which God had set, the Spirit
came for His elect to regenerate and call from the ruin of the
fall. By His power and by His grace,
we were born for God's own praise. Now your purpose we fulfill,
Saved according to your will. Sing this song of joyful praise,
For the glory of your grace. Blessed, holy, triune God, Hear
our praise through Christ our Lord. Please be seated. That is a treat. Thank you, Lynn.
Aubrey, it's good to have you here also. I want to read for
our scripture reading tonight from Psalm 125. Psalm 125. Welcome our brethren from Sarasota. They'll be joining us tonight.
Verse one. They that trust in the Lord shall
be as Mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth forever
as the mountains are round about Jerusalem. So the Lord is round
about his people from henceforth even forever. I will never ever
leave you nor forsake you." What a precious promise. For the rod
of the wicked shall not rest upon the lot of the righteous,
lest the righteous put forth their hand into iniquity. In
other words, the Lord's not going to allow the gospel to be compromised
in his church. He's not going to allow false
gospel. Once that happens, then it's no longer a gospel church. Do good, O Lord, unto those that
be good, and to them that are upright in their hearts. God honors the faith that he
has given us, causing us to have a broken and contrite heart he
will not despise. That's the blessing of his grace.
As for such as turn aside unto their crooked ways, the Lord
shall lead them forth with the workers of iniquity. But peace,
peace, peace shall be upon Israel. Let's pray together. Our merciful
Heavenly Father, we come before thy throne of grace as sinners
in need of your mercy. We ask, Lord, that you would
bless this hour with thy presence We pray that you would cause
us to know thy peace, that we would be able to find rest and
hope in thy dear son. We thank you for his accomplished
work of redemption. We ask, Lord, that you would
cause us to be able to worship you, to worship you in spirit. and according to the truth of
thy gospel. We thank you for the precious
promises that you've made to to keep us and to bless us and
where two or three are gathered together in thy name that you
would be pleased to manifest thy grace, my glory. We ask that you would do it for
your namesake. We prayed in Christ's name. Amen. Let's all stand together again
and we'll sing hymn number 199 from the Hardback Tymnal, number
199, Christ Receiveth Sinful Men. sinners Jesus will receive. Sound this word of grace to all
who the heavenly pathway leave. All who linger, all who fall,
sing it o'er and o'er again. Christ receiveth sinful men. Make the message clear and plain. Christ receiveth sinful men. Come and He will give you rest. Trust Him, for His word is plain. He will take the sinful last. Christ, receive the sinful man. Sing it o'er and o'er again. Christ, receive the sinful man. Make the message clear and plain
Christ received a sinful man Now my heart condemns me not
Pure before the law I stand He who cleansed me from all spot
Satisfied its last demand Sing it o'er and o'er again, Christ,
receive a sinful man. Make the message clear and plain,
Christ, receive a sinful man. Christ receive his sinful man,
even me with all my sin. Purged from every spot and stain,
heaven with him I enter in. Sing it o'er and o'er again. Please be seated. I'm so glad for that, aren't
you? He only receives sinners. Only receives sinners. We're going to be looking at
the rest of Psalm 122 tonight. We looked at the first few verses
of it Sunday morning, and I want us to consider, and I so hope
that the Lord will bless our souls tonight with peace and
prosperity. Peace and prosperity. That's what he promises in this
psalm. Now remember, the Lord's ways are not our ways. His thoughts
are not our thoughts. His ways as the heavens are above
the earth, so are his thoughts above our thoughts. We're not
talking about the peace and prosperity that our flesh craves. The absence
of conflict and all the things that this world has to offer.
That's man's way of thinking of peace and prosperity, isn't
it? The Lord does promise peace and prosperity. He tells us where
it's to be found in this passage of scripture. He tells us who
it's for. He tells us why it's provided. He tells us what the proclamation
is to be. And he tells us what the purpose
for the peace and prosperity that he's promised to his children
ultimately is for. And it's all in these last few
verses of the end of Psalm 122. In case you missed Sunday morning,
we'll read the first few verses briefly. I was glad. I rejoiced. I was thankful when
they said, let us go into the house of the Lord. God's people
are. They're glad to be where he is.
They're glad to be where his people are. They're glad to be
where his word is opened, where the gospel is preached. They're
thankful that the Lord has given them an opportunity. Tim drove
three and a half hours to get here tonight. And God's people,
that's just what they need. They need to be where the gospel
of God's free grace is preached, where their hearts are comforted,
where they find hope for their souls. And that's what David's
saying here, I was so thankful, I was so glad when they said
unto me, let us go into the house of the Lord, our feet shall stand
within thy gates, oh city of peace. That's Jerusalem, that's
the place where God is pleased to make peace with his people. We have peace with God through
the Lord Jesus Christ. The law of God has been silenced. The wrath of God has been quieted. We have one who is called our
propitiation. In other words, there's no fear
of the judgment of God once we hear and are able by God's grace
to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. And so he says, my feet
stand firm in the gates at Jerusalem. Jerusalem is built as a city
that is compact together. And the Lord, you remember in
Ephesians chapter four, likens the church to a body that's fitly
joined together, each bone joined to another, all making up one
body with the Lord Jesus Christ himself as being the head of
that body. And just as you have one body
and every part of your body is very important to you, so the
body of Christ is important to him and important to the other
members of the body of Christ. It's fitly joined together. And
this is where the tribes go up. All the children of Israel, they
come to this place where The Lord has promised to manifest
his glory. He's promised to make himself
known. He's promised to inhabit the praise of his people. He's
promised to walk among the candlesticks and make the light of his glory
known. through his word when two or three are gathered together
in his name. And when Christ is lifted up,
the Lord Jesus Christ said, and I, if I be lifted up, I will
draw all men to me. This is the only place in the
whole world where the Lord Jesus Christ is lifted up. It's the
only place, no place else in the world do men lift up the
Lord Jesus Christ. To the contrary, they trample
him underfoot, they blaspheme his name. This is the only place
where he's exalted. This is the only place where
he's lifted up and where he draws his people to himself. And so
he says, the tribes go up, the tribes of the Lord unto the testimony
of Israel. That's the gospel. The testimony
of Israel is the gospel of God's free grace and all the parts
of that gospel from God's electing mercies before time ever began,
God sovereignly choosing a people and writing their names in the
Lamb's Book of Life. everything that God did in order
to prepare Israel for the coming of the Messiah, and then the
condescension of the Lord Jesus Christ, leaving the glories of
heaven and becoming a man, being made in the likeness of sinful
flesh, and yet he was without sin, born of a woman, born under
the law, in order to redeem them who are cursed by the law. Here's
the testimony. This is what we come to hear,
don't we? This is the testimony of Israel. This is our testimony. I made reference, I just spent
a couple hours with Brother Tim. I'm just so encouraged with this
dear brother. And he called me and said, I
just want to share with you my testimony. And his whole testimony
is like your testimony and like my testimony. It's just a recounting
of what the Lord has done and how he's made himself known. The testimony of Israel. Christ
is the testimony of Israel. He is. He's the one who laid
down his life for the sheep. He's the one who satisfied all
of God's justice when he offered himself up as the sin bearer
and suffered the full wrath of God's judgment in order to put
away our sins once and for all. This is the testimony of Israel.
He's the one who ascended into glory and presents himself before
the Father on our behalf. He's the one who satisfied the
demands of the law. God made Him who knew no sin
to be sin for us that we might be made the righteousness of
God in Him. Paul said, we profess to know
nothing among you save Christ and Him crucified. God's people
want to hear about Christ. They want to hear what He's done
for them. They don't want to hear about what they need to
do in order to be right with God. That will only burden their
souls. Oh, but what freedom there is
in hearing about what He's accomplished to save them, so that we can
say with our brother Jonah, salvation truly is of the Lord. He's done it all from beginning
to end. This is the testimony of Israel.
He's seated at the right hand of the majesty on high. He ever
lives to make intercession for his people. He keeps us from
falling and he will present us faultless before the throne of
God. He's coming. He's coming again. Dead in Christ will rise and
those of us which are alive will be caught up together with them
in the air. What a glorious day. We'll see him as he is and be
made like him. The tribes come up to hear about
what the Lord Jesus Christ has done for them. This is their
testimony to give thanks unto the name of the Lord. That's
our response. Our response is Thanksgiving. We're thankful. We're thankful
that our sins have been put away. We're thankful that we have an
advocate with the Father. We're thankful that we have a
righteousness that is completely outside of ourselves that's pleasing
to the Father. We're thankful that God's justice
has been satisfied and that He's pleased with Christ and those
that are in Christ. Oh, we're just thankful. Be thankful always, for this
is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. If we don't
have the peace and the prosperity that this world has to offer,
if we know Christ, We have true peace and true wealth, true prosperity. And for that reason, if we don't
have anything else, we've got reason to be thankful. If you've
got Christ, you've got everything. And if you don't have Christ,
you don't have anything. What does it profit a man if he gains
the whole world and loses his own soul? What will a man give
in exchange for his soul? You know, the world, let the
world pursue the things of this world. Lord, would you teach
me? There's something in my flesh
that's very pursuant of the peace and prosperity, the comforts,
the pleasures, the things that my flesh desires. And yet, those
things never satisfy my soul. They never give rest to my spirit. They never give hope to my heart. They don't do anything for my
faith. They just feed the flesh. That's all they do. The lust
of the eyes, the pride of life, the lust of the eyes, the lust
of the flesh, the pride of life, it's all the things that are
of the world just feed the flesh. That's all they do. The Lord
has given us here such great hope when he says, for there
are set thrones of judgment and thrones of the house of David. Thrones of judgment. The only way that we can have
peace with God, the only way that we can have possession of
that pearl of great price is if the judgment of God has been
satisfied. He's not going to allow one sin
to go unpunished. He's not going to do it. Here is where the thrones of
judgment are set up. Here's where we hear about what
God has done in order to satisfy His justice when He gave His
only begotten Son as a sacrifice for the sins of His people. When
He plunged the very sword of His own justice into the heart
of His Son, it pleased the Lord to bruise Him. And Psalm Isaiah
53 says, and God is satisfied. He's satisfied. Here's the question. Are you satisfied with what God's
satisfied with? Are you? God's satisfied with
Christ. That's the only thing he's satisfied
with. The thrones of judgment have been set up. Labor not for
the meat that perishes, but for that meat which endureth to eternal
life, which the Son of Man shall give unto you. Here's the meat,
the spiritual prosperity to know Christ, to have peace of God,
to have peace with God, to grow in grace and in the knowledge
of the Lord Jesus Christ, to possess that pearl of great price,
to understand, to understand the spiritual truth of the gospel. Paul said, oh, that I might know
him. that I might know him, the power
of his resurrection and the fellowship of his suffering. That's, that's
my only hope. That's the, that's the prosperity
that the world can't give you and all the prosperity that the
world has to offer. What's it going to do for you?
What's it going to do for you to believe the gospel? You see,
the truth is that when the Lord sets up these thrones of judgment
and enables us to see that the Lord Jesus Christ was judged
by the Father on our behalf, and that God's satisfied with
the wrath that he poured out from heaven on Christ, the fire
of God's wrath, like Elijah's altar on Mount Carmel, you remember?
He built the altar and he put the sacrifice on the altar and
he soaked the altar with water. Elijah said to the prophets of
Baal, he said, ''Let the God that answereth by fire be God.''
That's exactly what happened. Fire fell from heaven and consumed
that altar. Once the altar was consumed,
the fire was quenched. Fire went out. Here's the judgment
of God. The law has been satisfied. God's
pleased. The sacrifice has been made.
Don't you love it when in the story of Ruth, when Boaz
fell in love with Ruth and Naomi saw it. Naomi told Ruth, she
said, you sit still for that man will not rest. He will not
rest until he's finished the work. What a picture of our kinsman
redeemer, for us to sit still until he does the work. What did Boaz have to do? Boaz
said, there is a kinsman that's nearer to you than me. and I've
got to go reckon with him." And so where did Boaz go? He went
to the city gates and met with the elders. This is where the
thrones were set up. This is the throne of judgment.
And Boaz said to this nearer kinsman, he said, you're a nearer
kinsman than I, and if you're going to redeem Naomi, do it,
and if you're not, I will. Oh, by the way, in the day in
which you redeem Naomi, you've got to also have to redeem the
Moabitess, Ruth. And what did that nearer kinsman
say? He said, oh no, I can't do that. It'll mar my inheritance. I can't take a Moabitess into
my family. And so Boaz reckoned with him
there at the city gate. That nearer Kinsman's a picture
of the law. And the law can't redeem a Moabitess. The law can't redeem a sinner.
Only thing the law can do is exercise its judgment against
us. The law, nothing wrong with the law. The law is holy. The
law is just. The law is good. We love God's
law. But the weakness of the flesh
is unable to satisfy the demands of God's law. So we need a Boaz. We need a kinsman redeemer to
reckon with that law and to redeem us from him. And that's exactly
what the Lord Jesus Christ did. He did it at the judgment seat.
The judgment seat of God. When the law was satisfied, God's
justice was pleased, the fire of God's wrath was quenched,
and redemption was completed. So that when the Lord Jesus Christ
bowed his mighty head on Calvary's cross and said, it is finished. It's finished. Everything necessary
for the salvation of God's people was accomplished. It was accomplished. Don't you love it when the Lord
takes Peter, James, and John up on the Mount of Transfiguration,
and the veil of His humanity is taken away for a moment, and
the radiance of His deity shines forth. Peter, James, and John
fall on the ground, and they hear the voice of God. Audibly,
they hear the voice of God. This is my beloved Son, in whom
I am well pleased. Hear ye Him. And who was standing
there with the Lord? Moses? That's the law. And Elijah, that's the prophets. And they talked with him of that
which he would accomplish in his death. What would he accomplish
in his death? He'd satisfy all the demands
of the law and fulfill all the prophecies so that every prophecy
and every promise of God is yea and amen in Christ. Here's where
peace and prosperity comes. This is the peace and prosperity
I'm interested in. Let the world pursue the vanity
of this world. Solomon was right. You know he
was. When he said, vanity of vanities,
all is vanity. Everything this world has to
offer is empty promises. The Lord calls it the deceitfulness
of riches. Why are riches so deceitful?
Because they lie. They promise peace and prosperity,
but they can't deliver. They can't deliver. For there are set thrones of
judgment and thrones of the house of David. There's the throne of man's conscience. And that throne says, guilty. There's the throne of God's law,
and that throne says guilty. And then there's the throne of
God's grace. Let us therefore come boldly
with confidence to the throne of grace. to the throne of grace,
that we may obtain mercy and find grace in our time of need. What is your need right now?
I know what it is. Your need's exactly the same
as my need. I know you have lots of temporal
needs, and they all differ. We all differ when it comes to
our temporal needs. I'm talking about the need that
we have for the Lord to to give us true peace and true prosperity. And your needs the same exact
as mine is to have my sin put away, is to have God satisfied,
is to have peace with God through the Lord Jesus Christ, is to
have the law of God fulfilled. Christ himself is the only end
of the law for righteousness to everyone that believeth. to
the Jew first and also to the Gentile. In other words, to every
one of us. In the New Testament, the Jews
and the Gentiles represented two polar opposites. They were just completely different
people. And here's what the Lord's saying. It doesn't matter where you're
coming from. It doesn't matter what you've
done, what you haven't done. It doesn't matter who you are.
It's the same. It's the same. If the Lord gives you peace,
true peace, if He gives you true prosperity, if He gives you the
riches of His grace in the gospel, if He gives you Christ and He
causes you to have Christ in you as your hope of glory, causes
you to be able to rest in the accomplished, finished work of
Christ, that peace is probably going to give you more conflict,
not less. If you're thinking of peace as
the absence of conflict, coming to Christ is not gonna fix that. You're gonna have, as far as
your relationships in this world are concerned, you're gonna have
more conflict. Listen to what the Lord said
in, well, turn with me there, Matthew chapter 10. Turn with
me to Matthew chapter 10. Here's how James put it, count
it all joy my brethren. Count it all joy, my brethren,
when you fall into diverse temptations, knowing that the trying of your
faith worketh patience. When patience is complete, it'll
make you perfect and entire, lacking in nothing." That's where
the Lord sends trials and troubles into our lives in order to make
us depend on Christ. And only then, only then do we
lack nothing. We have everything if we have
Christ. You have your Bibles open to Matthew chapter 10. Look
at verse 34. Think not, think not that I have
come to send peace on the earth. The Lord Jesus Christ came to
bring peace. He's called the Prince of Peace,
but not peace on the earth, peace between sinners, and a holy God. That's who he came to bring peace
to. Think not that I am come to send peace on earth. I came
not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at
variance against his father, and a daughter against her mother,
and the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law, and a man's
foes shall be they of his own household. This matter of coming to Christ
doesn't bring the kind of peace and prosperity that the world
promises. It brings the peace and prosperity
that God promises. I wonder if when Stephen was
being stoned, if he would have found any comfort from a religious
message of worldly peace and prosperity. when he looked up into heaven. I wonder when John was exiled
to Patmos and was persecuted so harshly if he would have had
any interest in a message of peace and prosperity that the
world has to offer. I wonder if when Paul was shipwrecked
or beaten or left for dead or imprisoned, when Peter and And Paul and Silas
were there in the prison in Philippi. They had been beaten mercilessly
and chained to the wall. And what does the scripture say?
They were rejoicing and singing at midnight when the Lord came
and opened the gates, opened the doors and released them from
their chains. Were they rejoicing in a peace
and prosperity that has to do with the absence of conflict,
that has to do with worldly comforts and worldly pleasures? No. They
knew something of true peace and true prosperity. I wonder if when the Lord Jesus
Christ himself was bearing in His body all the sins of all
of His people in order to bring us peace. If any message of worldly
comfort and absence of conflict would have been of any interest
at all to Him, it wouldn't have been, would it? Our flesh is so drawn to this
world, but there's no truth to it. No truth to it. It's just lies. Here's the peace
and prosperity that you need and that I need. Our Lord put it like this in
John chapter 16. This is so simple and so clear. He said, in this world, you shall
have tribulation, but be of good cheer. I have overcome the world. I have overcome the world. You
haven't overcome it. You're still pretty attached
to it, aren't you? except by virtue of your union with Christ,
you have." That's what he was saying. These religious fanatics talking
about being overcomers. I want you to be an overcomer.
No. Here's our peace and prosperity,
finding our hope in the fact that the Lord Jesus Christ Himself
overcame the world. He never got caught up in it.
He was never tempted by it. He was never deceived by it.
Not for a second. That's why he said, be of good
cheer. I've overcome the world. I did
it for you. There's your peace with God.
There's your prosperity in the accomplished life and death of
the Savior. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Oh, Lord, would you, would you
show yourself to me? Would you, would you give my
pastor a message to preach that would be, that would be what
I need to hear? Would you enable me to come to
this place and set aside all the things that would so easily
distract me and keep me from being able to hear and to worship?
Help me, Lord, to put them aside. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.
How can we come to this place and worship God without having
a spirit of prayer? Praying for one another. Oh,
Lord, don't let my brother, don't let my sister fall into sin. Don't let them shame themselves
in the gospel. Lord, Lord, keep me. Pray for the peace
of Jerusalem. They shall prosper. Here's prosperity. By the way, the word prosper,
prosperity, and peace in this text all come from the same word,
shalom. And it means to rest. That's
what it means. It means to sit down and to be
quiet. That's what it means. Where are
you going to find rest in this world? You know, we get up in
the morning, you just hit the grind, don't you? And it's like,
you know, just trying to make it, trying to make it. Where are you going to find shalom?
Where are you going to find peace? Where are you going to find prosperity? Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.
If it's going to happen, the Lord's going to have to give
it to us. He's going to have to do it. It's not something
we're going to achieve. Lord, bless me with your peace. Prosper my soul with the knowledge
of Christ and enable me to rest in what he's accomplished on
my behalf. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.
They shall prosper that love thee. They shall prosper that love
thee. God's people do love Christ.
They love the gospel. They love God's Word. They love
one another. Now, you know, I know that your
love is so fickle. It's so, you know, it's so inconsistent. And the truth is that you have
never ever had a perfectly pure motive in anything you've ever
done. You've never had a pure thought.
You've never had it. You've never done anything with
perfect love and perfect selflessness. You know, we just, we just, we
got it in everything we do, don't we? That being said, God's people
love his church. They love the gospel. They love
Christ. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.
They shall prosper that love thee. Peace be within thy walls
and prosperity within thy palaces. Where are we going to find peace?
This is it. There's no message like this
in the world. The message of the world is don't worry, be
happy. The message of the world is just try a little harder,
tie a knot, hang on, you know, just, just, you know, just be,
you know, power positive thinking, all that kind of stuff. It doesn't
work. It doesn't work. And the reason
it doesn't work is because it depends upon you to do something. You can't make it work. All you
can do is be a hypocrite. Just pretend like, well, I'm,
you know, I'm happy. I'm getting along. This is true happiness. This
is true happiness. Oh, the beatitudes. And that are poor in spirit.
That's where it starts, isn't it? Happy is the man. who's poor in spirit. Lord, I don't have anything.
I can't fix myself. I can't. You're going to have
to do it for me. Peace be within thy walls. Where is peace and prosperity
found? Within the walls of Jerusalem. What's the ground upon which
peace and prosperity is found? the judgment of God upon the
Lord Jesus Christ. God's not gonna allow one sin
to go unpunished. There's no loopholes in God's
law. There's no appeals to God's law. There's no compromise in God's
law. God's law is strict. It must
be satisfied. The judgment of God must be met.
And the only one that he's satisfied in doing that is his son. The Lord Jesus Christ satisfied
the demand. So there's the judgment, there's
the thrones of judgment. Peace be within thy walls and
prosperity within thy palaces. For my brethren and companions
sake, I will now say, and here's the declaration. Here's the declaration. We've been preaching it now for
30 minutes or more. Here's the declaration. Peace
be within thee. Peace be within thee. If the Lord speaks peace to your
heart, peace will be within thee. This is the place within the
walls of God where the gospel is preached. It's the only place. It's the only place where the
peace of God, this is, there's no other place in this world
that's preaching this message. None. And the message of religion
is not this message. The message of religion is depending
upon you to make your contribution. Are you going to have peace with
God? Well, here's what you got to do. Here's what you got to
do. This message is telling us what
God has done, what he's accomplished. Peace be within thee. Oh, Lord,
would you speak peace to my heart? I believe the gospel. Sometimes,
Lord, I wonder if it's for me. I wonder if I need you to speak
peace to my heart. I can't speak peace to my own
heart. You know, you think, well, would God love me? Be careful. Be careful. Don't think, don't entertain
the thought, well, you know, if I hadn't have been so sinful,
maybe I'd be a better candidate for God's grace. You see the self-righteousness
in that, don't you? He only gives peace to sinners.
Don't look at your life and try to figure out, well, maybe I
could have, maybe if I hadn't have done this or hadn't have
done that or wasn't this way or that way, I'd be a better
candidate for salvation. Or the Lord would have more reason
to love me. He only loves sinners. And sinners are those who have
no righteousness. Verse nine. Because of the house
of the Lord our God, I will seek thy good. I will seek thy good. I know
the thoughts that I have towards you. They're not thoughts of
evil. They're thoughts of good. They're
thoughts of prosperity. They're thoughts of peace. I
can't... I can't promise you anything
from God's word that the Lord's going to bless you with the kind
of prosperity that the world's talking about. Matter of fact,
I've already shown you scripture that gives us reason to think
that if the Lord blesses us with true peace and true prosperity,
it's probably going to bring more conflict into our lives. I know it's going to bring more
conflict between the spirit and the flesh. I know you're gonna
have, I know it's gonna stir up a civil war right within your
own man. But know this, know this, the
older shall serve the younger. Your old man, your old man, the
man that you were born with, the sinful man, will drive your
new man to Christ. He will find. He will find. Your flesh is never going to
find peace and prosperity. It's always going to be stirred
up. It's always going to be attached. It's always going to be looking
for something that it can't find. That's not what we're talking
about. We're talking about the new man. The new man. The man of faith. Let's pray. Our Heavenly Father,
we ask that you would Bless our hearts with thy peace
and with thy prosperity. We would be possessors of your
grace, possessors of that pearl of great price, possessors of thy son. Lord, that you would enable us
to rest in him. We ask it in his name. Amen. All right, let's stand together,
Tom. Number 290 in the hardback temno. Be still, my soul, the Lord is
on thy side. Bear patiently the cross of grief
or pain. Leave to thy God to order and
provide. In every change, he faithful
will remain. Be still, my soul, thy best,
thy heavenly friend. Through thorny ways leads to
a joyful end. Be still, my soul, thy God doth
undertake To guide the future as He has the past. Thy hope, thy confidence, let
nothing shake. All now mysterious shall be bright
at last. Be still, my soul, the waves
and winds still know His voice who ruled them while He dwelt
below. Be still, my soul, the hour is
hastening on. when we shall be forever with
the Lord. When disappointment, grief, and
fear are gone, sorrow for God Love's purest joys restored. Be still, my soul, when change
and tears are past. All safe and blessed we shall
meet at last. Thank you. th th
