John

In the sermon titled "Who Art Thou?" by Eric Lutter, the central theological topic addressed is the identity of Jesus Christ as the sole source of salvation. Lutter emphasizes the necessity of recognizing Christ as both Savior and Lord, highlighting that without acknowledging Him, individuals remain in their sins. He argues that the Jews questioned Christ’s identity when confronted with the truth of His nature, underscoring the spiritual blindness and enmity that exists in the human heart (John 8:23-32). The sermon explores how Jesus declares Himself as "I Am," the eternal God who is essential for salvation, referencing Romans 8:7 to illustrate the natural man's hostility towards God. Lutter concludes with the practical significance of knowing Christ intimately for true freedom and life, urging listeners to see Him as their true need and source of hope.

We're going to begin our second
service by standing and singing out of
your softback number 43, Friend of Sinners, 43. To save your friend of sinners
we as such to thee draw near. ? Let thy spirit dwell within
us ? ? With that love that casts out fear ? ? Let your Savior
let us know thee ? ? As the Lord our righteousness ? ? Cause our
hearts to cling unto thee ? ? Come in with thy presence blessed
? Open now thy precious treasure. Let thy word here freely flow. Give to us a gracious measure. Tis thyself we long to know. Come and claim us as thy portion. Let us all find rest in thee. ? Leave us not to empty notions
? We would find our hope in thee Thank you. Morning. I'm gonna read Psalm
95. Psalm 95. O come, let us sing unto the
Lord. Let us make a joyful noise to
the rock of our salvation. Let us come before his presence
with thanksgiving and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms. For
the Lord is a great God and a great King above all gods. In his hand
are the deep places of the earth, and the strength of the hills
is his also. The sea is his, and he made it,
and his hands formed the dry land. O come, let us worship. and bow down. Let us kneel before
the Lord, our maker, for he is our God and we are the people
of his pasture and the sheep of his hand. Today, if you will
hear today, if he will hear his voice, harden not your heart
as in the provocation and in the day of temptation in the
wilderness. When your father tempted me, proved me, and saw
my work, forty years long I grieve with this generation and said,
it is the people that do err in their heart, and they have
not known my ways, unto whom I swear in my wrath that they
should not enter into my rest. Let's pray. Father, we do come
to you this morning with thanksgiving, and Father, that for this chapter
of scripture that does truly show that you are our salvation,
you are sovereign in all things, you created it all, you've orchestrated
it all, and you are truly our God and our King. And Father,
we just ask that you Never let us forget your sovereignty. Don't let us forget that you
do control all things. And Father, don't let us try
to solve our own problems. Lord, let us come to you. And
Lord, we ask that you continue to bless this church and what
you've created here, Father. And we ask that you continue
to watch over our pastor and bring him the messages that you
would have us to hear. And Father, we ask that you watch
over those that aren't with us this morning and we again just
as always ask you to watch over us and care for us in Christ's
name. Our second hymn is going to be
120. From Christ there flows a mighty
stream. Come, lost, despairing sinners,
here. Come, thirsty, sin-sick souls,
draw near. From Christ there flows a mighty
stream. to quench your thirst and make
you clean. The wonders here in Sinner's
Road reach far beyond all human thought. The fountain is Emmanuel's
blood, The sin-atoning crimson flood, Yes, Jesus' blood, the
boundless sea, washes our guilt and filth away. Bathe here your soul and be made
clean. Drink now and never thirst again. To this blessed fountain now
I come With all the sins that press me down Guilty and vile
and thirsty I Unceasing to the fountain fly Let me not from
this fountain move Until I reach its source above Good morning. Let's turn to John chapter 8.
I want to continue in this passage here in John 8 looking at verses
23 through 32. Here in this passage we see that
unless the Lord removes The enmity and the blindness in us, unless
He removes it and takes it away, we'll remain in our sins and
we'll perish, we'll die in our sins. Our Lord came and He accomplished
salvation. He accomplished salvation and
He declares His accomplished salvation here to these Jews. He hid nothing from them. He
didn't hide his purpose in coming and he told them plainly what
he would accomplish and was accomplishing for his people according to the
good and perfect will and purpose of God our Father. And our risen
Savior, because He's accomplished our salvation so wonderfully,
so perfectly, our risen Savior, an ascended Lord, sends and pours
forth His Spirit upon His people, delivering us from spiritual
death, delivering us from blindness and the enmity that is in us
by nature. And in its place, he gives us
life and hope and salvation in the Lord. That's what he accomplishes
for his people. I've titled this message, Who
Art Thou? Who art thou? That's what the
Jews asked him. Who art thou? Who are you to
speak like this? He's the Savior. He's the Lord. He's the light of the world.
We need him. We must have Christ. So our Lord here, he's speaking
with these Jews, and he's confirming to them that he himself is salvation. He is salvation. Not truths about him, not words
about him, not doctrines about him or about the church or about
religion. Christ is salvation. Verse 23. Christ said unto them,
Ye are from beneath, I am from above. And here's what he means. You're of this world. You're
earthy. You're of this world. You're
flesh. You're dust. I am not of this world. I'm life, he's saying. I'm of
heaven. I'm of the Father. I am one with
the Father, the Son of God. I said therefore unto you that
ye shall die in your sins. For if ye believe not that I
am, those are the words he used, I am. Our translators put, I
am he. If you believe not that I am,
ye shall die in your sins. He's declaring to these Jews,
these Jews that hated him, he's saying to them, I am salvation. I am the salvation of God. In
me is life. Apart from me, there is no life,
only death. John the Apostle, who recorded
this gospel for us and also wrote the epistle, 1 John 5, verse
12, says, he that hath the Son hath life. He that hath not the
Son of God hath not life. He's not directing us to put
our hope in knowledge of things, in truths, in doctrines or Bible
verses. He's telling us, look to the
Word of God, the Lord Jesus Christ, of whom this Word speaks and
testifies of. He is our salvation. He is the
salvation God has provided. I mentioned in the original,
verse 24, our Lord said, I am. If you do not believe that I
am, you will die in your sins. The emphasis there is on I am,
and it shows that Christ is the true God. Christ is the eternal
Son of God. Christ is God manifest in the
flesh. He is the promised Messiah, the
one whom the Father spoke of and declared all the way back
in the beginning. He spoke of the Lord Jesus Christ
in whom we would be saved. Christ is the only mediator between
God and men. He is the only Savior of sinners. He came for sinners, not for
the righteous, but that sinners should be saved. We come to Christ
sinners. We come to Christ as sinners
because that's what we are. We're the sinners, guilty, worthy
of eternal damnation, worthy of hell. That's what we are. We're worthy of death. And apart
from Jesus Christ, you and I cannot be saved. We have no life apart
from him. Without faith, we're told, without
faith it's impossible to please God. and true faith, that faith
which God gives, looks to the Lord Jesus Christ, believes Christ,
believes the Savior, believes God that he is my salvation. I have nothing apart from the
Lord Jesus Christ. He's saying this and it prompted
these Jews to ask in verse 25, they say unto him, who art thou? Who are you to make such a claim? Who are you to say such a thing?
To speak as though you're life and salvation, that you're the
light, and apart from you we have no life. Who are you to
belittle us and show us that our works of righteousness are
filthy and vile in God's sight? Who are you to speak like that?
Well, the child of God knows who he is. The child of God is
made to believe. The child of God is given that
faith and that life and that hope in him. In the book of Ruth,
there's actually, in chapter three, verse nine, Boaz is startled
in the middle of the night. And he asks, who art thou? Who
art thou? And Ruth knew who he was. She knew who he was, and she
said, Thou art, she said, I'm Ruth, your maidservant, and you
are the Redeemer. You're the near kinsman Redeemer.
I know who you are. Save me, cover me, take me in,
make me yours, Lord. And that's what the Lord brings
his children to confess and to cry out, Lord, you're the Redeemer,
you're the Savior. Who am I to speak to you like
who are you? You've revealed to me that you're
God and you are salvation. Lord, receive me. This is the
question, however, that must be asked and the question that
must be answered. It's got to be settled in your
hearts and in my heart. Who are you? Who are you, Jesus
of Nazareth? Who are you? It's a question
that only the Spirit of God can answer and settle in your hearts. I can say some things, and they
might sound good to you for a time, but only the Spirit of God lays
it to the heart and brings it to the heart with power, with
life, with faith, because that's what God gives each of his children. To behold, he's salvation. He's light. He's exactly what
I need. That's what the Spirit does.
No man can satisfy this question. The Spirit of God has to answer,
who art thou? You must settle it in your heart.
Now, so who is this Jesus of Nazareth? We should be asking
that question. But he tells us plainly exactly
who he is. And that's why we want to know
this, because he says, if you believe not that I am he, ye
shall die in your sins. We're also told in John 3, 35
and 36, the Father loveth the Son, the Father loveth the Son,
and hath given all things into his hand. There is no salvation
apart from the Lord Jesus Christ. He's everything. He's almighty
God. All things are put into his hands. He's ruling and reigning. We've
got to know who he is because we're going to stand before him
one day. He's the judge. He is God. He's the one that
the Father has appointed all things to. And he says in John
336, he that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life. And he that believeth not the
Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abideth on him. So this is no man to be dismissed,
no man to be ignored, to be sneered at and chuckled at and just laughed
off and just to put aside for another time when it's more convenient
for us to hear. This is the Son, and He alone
has eternal life, and He gives eternal life to whom He will. To whom? He will. So verse 25,
John 8, 25, They said unto him, Who art thou? And Jesus saith
unto them, Even the same that I said unto you from the beginning. What did Christ say from the
beginning? Well, in the beginning of his
ministry, he said, Repent, for the kingdom of God is at hand.
Here he is. Here's life and light. But more
pointedly here, when he starts speaking to these Jews, we see
it in verse 12. John 8, 12, and 13 says, I am the light of the
world. He that followeth me shall not
walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. He's telling
them plainly, I am the Messiah. And we see the natural heart. We see the enmity of the carnal
man. They said unto him, thou best
record of thyself. Thy record is not true. They
didn't believe. They could not hear him, and
they would not hear him. And that's exactly what the Lord
says. He told them in another place in John 540, he said, ye
will not come to me that ye might have life. That's the natural
man. The carnal mind is enmity against
God. Our hearts are hard and wicked. Ask yourself, is my heart hard
and wicked toward Christ? Do I love Him? Do I hear Him? Do I need Him? Is He salvation
or is He not salvation? If your heart is hard, you should
be afraid. You should be very afraid because
He, all things are committed into His hand. He's ruling and
reigning over all things, implementing the will of His Father in the
earth. And that's where we'll stay unless
God grants us repentance and faith to look to the Lord Jesus
Christ. If he doesn't grant us faith
and repentance, we shall die in our sins. We shall be found
having our sins on us and having to answer for those sins and
having to pay for those sins. That's where we would be without
Christ. And so the bondage of sin and death is where man is
naturally. We think we're free. We think
of ourselves as having a free will and being able to do what
we want and the masters of our own destiny. But the reality
is we're slaves to sin. We're in bondage to sin by nature. And we're deceived thinking that
we are free and able to do whatever we want. We're dependent on the
mercy and grace of God. So if you're a sinner, you've
got to hear him. I've got to hear Him. We must
hear Christ. We must hear Him that we should
be set free from eternal death. What's preventing us from hearing
Christ? What prevents us from hearing
and believing Christ? Christ is the Savior of sinners.
He's the one whom God sent to save His people from their sins,
Christ is the fullness of righteousness. All that the Father requires
of us is found in the Lord Jesus Christ, and He receives all those
who come to Him in Jesus Christ, trusting in His righteousness,
believing Him, having their life found in His life. looking to
Him for all. Christ is the sacrifice. He's
the one whom God sent to take away the sin of the people. And
His death satisfied the Father well in all things. Christ is the resurrection. The life we have is in the resurrection
of Jesus Christ. That eternal life, that knowledge
of God, that belief of God, that trust of Him and staying upon
Him is wrought in His people by the life of Jesus Christ,
by His power and glory. So why would these Jews not hear
Christ? Why wouldn't they hear Him? Why
didn't they believe Christ? It's because the natural man
refuses to hear Christ. The natural man does not believe
Christ because the natural man is enmity, hates God, hates his
Christ, hates his gospel, despises it because it takes all the glory
from man and leaves us with nothing to boast in. It shows that we
are the criminals. We're the ones that are corrupt.
We're the ones that are defiled and rebelled against God, who
is good and righteous and perfect and glorious. And we turn from
him. And we turn from his son, except
he turn us back to himself. Romans 8, 7 says, because the
carnal mind is enmity against God. It's the enemy of God. It hates God. For it is not subject
to the law of God, neither indeed can be. And Paul tells us there
in Romans 8, they that are after the flesh do mind earthly things,
the things of the flesh. For to be carnally minded is
death. It's death. It remains in that
eternal spiritual death. It just remains there until the
Lord comes in power and lifts us out and brings us to himself. And so that enmity has to be
removed and the blindness has to be removed. The blindness
that's over our hearts, over our hearts and over our minds
and thoughts and eyes. He said, we're told in 2 Corinthians
4, 3, if our gospel be hid, it's hid to them that are lost. And
that's where we all are. But our Savior has a good shepherd
who has a people whom he loves and chose out for himself. He
seeks out his people. And he brings the gospel. He
shines his light into our dark hearts. He lifts the veil of
blindness and gives us liberty in himself. He'll find them. He finds his people. We're told
in 2 Corinthians 3, 16 and 17, nevertheless, when it shall turn
to the Lord, the heart of the child, when our heart is turned
to the Lord, the veil shall be taken away. Because God is not
going to leave his children whom he shed his blood for. He's not
going to leave them in darkness. It pleases him to bring light
and life and salvation. We know who the children of God
are when faith is revealed. And that's what God does in his
children. He reveals faith in them and brings them out of darkness. And we're told, now the Lord
is that spirit. You didn't turn yourself. I didn't
turn myself. No man turns himself. The Lord
is the spirit that turns the heart. And where the spirit of
the Lord is, there's liberty. So he brings us out. Just like
he said back in John 8, 12, he said, I'm the light of the world.
He that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have
the light of life. He brings that life. And so Christ,
to do this, he affected our salvation. He doesn't just give a knowledge
of these things. He brought salvation for his people. He gave his life. He fulfilled all righteousness
for us and He gave His life. He went to that cross willingly
as the Lamb of God. He sacrificed for His people
to pay for the sins, to atone for our sins, to make us righteous,
to wash us in His blood. And to remove that enmity and
lift off that blindness, we should have light and life in the Son,
in Him, to know Him. to follow Him, to rejoice in
Him, to speak of Him, to be glad in Him, and to find our hope
and joy in the Lord. And this is the sacrifice that
he speaks of now in John 8 verse 26 and 27. I have many things
to say and to judge of you, but He's talking to these Jews. I
have a lot of things to say to you and to judge you, but he
that sent me is true, and I speak to the world those things which
I have heard of him. They understood not that he spake
to them of the Father. Just showing again that no man
understands, no man has any knowledge or understanding of the things
of God. They must be shown by God to
the sinner. He said in Luke 24, We see it
even with his own disciples. Verse 45, then opened he their
understanding that they might understand the scriptures. We
have nothing apart from Christ. He's everything to us. There's
a lot of things that Christ could have said to these men. There's
a lot that he could have said that would have astonished them.
They would have been astounded and confounded and just blown
away that this is Christ. But if they knew who he was,
Paul says, the princes of this earth wouldn't have crucified
him. They wouldn't have put him to death. And so it's a mercy. Christ wasn't interested in justifying
himself to these Jews. He hid that. He said, I can tell
you a lot of things. I have a lot of things to judge
of you. I can straighten you guys right
out. But where would the salvation be? Where would our atonement
be? We'd just be knowledgeable and
then perish in our sins because we can't make ourselves righteous.
We have nothing to atone for ourselves for our sins. That's
why Christ came, to put away the sins of his people. And so
we speak, now we speak the wisdom of God and the mystery, even
the hidden wisdom of God, which God ordained before the world
unto our glory. It's so plain and so simple,
yet, No one understood him. He left them in that darkness
that he should go and be the sacrifice, the sin atoning sacrifice
for his people. That's how faithful he is to
you. He could have delivered himself from that miserable death. He could have delivered himself
and freed himself from that death, but he willingly laid down his
life for you that he loves. He loves you, and he didn't leave
you in death, and he doesn't leave you in enmity, and he doesn't
leave you in blindness, he doesn't leave you in the hatred. He brings
you into life, and he sets your heart at liberty rejoicing in
him. And one thing that Christ made
plain to us, and right before all these people, they heard
the same things, but they didn't hear it. But what he makes you
to hear is his tender mercies for you. how kind, how gracious,
how giving He is of His life for your life. So that any sinner
in need of mercy, any sinner in need of His grace, any sinner
in need of forgiveness, He freely gives it. He freely provides
it and lays His blood to your heart and cleanses us from all
sin and gives us life and hope in Him. He restores his people
and gives the promise of his life and rest so that we don't
seek anywhere else for salvation. He brings us to know he's everything
I need. In religion, we were going to
and fro. We were always worried, always
troubled, always messed up in the head and trying to make things
right. But when Christ came, when his
healing wings, the rays of his sunshine rose in our hearts. The day star rose in our hearts.
We were warmed in his embrace. We were filled with his love.
We were encouraged by his mercy and love for me, a sinner like
me who could do nothing for him and rebelled against him. And
he sets us free by opening the hands and the junk and garbage
we trusted in falls out. And he embraces us and brings
us to himself and says, don't look anywhere else. Don't go
anywhere else. I've got you. I'm everything.
I'm all you need. And so he does that, and he brings
that home to the heart. And so he tells us, and we know,
once he laid down his life, the fountain was open. and his blood
gushed forth, flowing, and all who are brought by the Spirit
are plunged beneath that flowing fountain of his blood, washed
every whit hole, all your sin, not anything left, you're free. you're forgiven, you're cleansed
and whole by the blood of Christ. And he says, verse 28, he said
unto them, when you've lifted up the son of man, then shall
ye know that I am. That's when you'll know. That's
when I'll make it known to all my people that I am the salvation. I'm not going to let you see
it now, because I need to go to the cross. I want to go to
the cross. I must go to the cross, and I
shall. Nothing's stopping me. I'm going. And so he kept it,
but he said, you'll know when I'm crucified and I rise again. You'll know, because I do nothing
of myself, but as my father hath taught me, I speak these things. What a blessing. What a blessing
is ours in Christ. What a blessing and a mercy by
his sacrifice. He died our death, He was buried
to put away our sins and He rose again and He ascended up to the
Father. And now he pours out all the
blessings of his salvation upon you. You that hope in Christ
are blessed with his spirit. And you have his blood applied
to your heart and your conscience and your mind so that you know
him. And he's converted you. He's
turned you from dead, filthy ways and things that cannot save
unto the living God to believe him. And he's giving you a true
spiritual knowledge of him. And we see that that's exactly
what happened. when the apostles and the few
disciples who believed, they stayed there in Jerusalem until
the spirit was poured out upon them, just like the Lord told
them to do. He kept them there by his grace and power, and he
poured out his spirit. And then the people, that day
of Pentecost, they proclaimed and declared the good news of
God and his son, Jesus Christ. And then, as he's speaking to
those people, He tells them very directly, very directly, calling
them out, verse 36, therefore let all the house of Israel,
this is Acts 2, 36, therefore let all the house of Israel know
assuredly that God hath made the same Jesus whom ye have crucified,
both Lord and Christ. And we're all gonna be spoken
to that directly by the Spirit, because we're gonna know that
if I'm His, it's because my sin put Him there on that cross.
He paid the price for my sin, my filthy works, my rebellion,
my hardness, my indifference, and carelessness, and all the
filth. He took that upon Himself. and laid down his life, bearing
that before the Father, the shame and the guilt of it. He bore
it before the Father, but satisfied the Father well, because he's
righteous and holy, and he put away the sins. He satisfied the
Lord perfectly. And when those men heard that,
they were pricked in their heart and said unto Peter and to the
rest of the apostles, men and brethren, what shall we do? Peter said, repent. Turn from
your dead religion. Repent and believe and be baptized,
every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ. Meaning they
believed Christ. They knew exactly why they were
being baptized. For the remission of sins, and ye shall receive
the gift of the Holy Ghost. You'll walk in Christ. You'll
walk in his light, no more in darkness. You'll walk in the
light and life of the Lord Jesus Christ. What a mercy, you know.
Stephen, just a little while later in chapter 7, he's preaching
and he gets very direct with those Jews. and they hated him
for it. They were cut to the heart and
they stoned him to death. What a mercy that in your hearts
that believe Christ, you weren't cut to the heart and despised
Christ and murdered him and murdered that preacher in your heart.
You believed the gospel and were refreshed by the gift of the
Holy Spirit who comforted your hearts. That's a mercy. That's
a gift of the Lord. So who is this Jesus of Nazareth? He's that Savior who so willingly
laid down his life and took your punishment, took your sins, you
that believe. He took that for you and he removed
the enmity from our hearts and gave us liberty and peace in
him. Let's look at verse 29 and 30. He says, our Lord says, he
that sent me is with me. The father hath not left me alone,
for I do always those things that please him. And as he spake
these words, many believed on him. Now it's very, we don't
know if this was just a head knowledge that they had, because
there were some, you can read in John especially, that there
were some that believed. And we read that there were some
that believed, but Christ didn't commit himself to those, because
he knew what was in man's heart. There's many that believe things
about the Lord, and believe doctrines, and believe certain things that
they hear, and follow a religion, follow a system of theology. But do they believe Christ? Is it spirit-born faith? You
that come to Christ, it's spirit-born faith. You that believe Christ
and need Him. The difference is gonna be made known by the
Lord Jesus Christ. He makes that known in the hearts
of his people. He makes it known. He doesn't
leave you in darkness. His disciples follow him as he
said back in verse 12, he that followeth me shall not walk in
darkness. You won't continue to trust in
the vain things of religion that cannot save. You'll do good works. You'll seek to be kind and gracious
and helpful to your brethren, to love them. And to be faithful
to the Lord's word and the preaching of his gospel, you'll follow
him and you won't walk in darkness, but he gives you light and life
in him. So we do become disciples of
the Lord Jesus Christ. And our Lord says this in verse
31. He said to those Jews which believed on him, if ye continue
in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed. Indeed. And that's what
he says to us. If you continue my word, you're
my disciples indeed. It's not a, I gave my heart to
Jesus when I was 12 years old and I never think about him anymore. No, we will think about him. We won't shake him loose and
get away from him and find comfort in other things of this world.
We'll find our comfort, lasting true comfort in him. Verse 32,
he said, ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you
free. These Pharisees knew a lot of
truth. They knew a lot of doctrine. They knew a lot about the law.
They knew a lot about what to expect when the Messiah came
because they had a lot of knowledge of true things, of true things. So what does Christ mean when
he says, you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you
free? Is it about? Our doctrine, does our doctrine
save us? Are we saved by our knowledge
of things, of true doctrines and scriptures and things like
that? Is that how the Lord saves His
people? What the Lord means there is
that He is the truth and He is the life. We come to a person,
we come to the Lord Jesus Christ. Our Savior doesn't bring us just
to some true facts. He doesn't just bring us to some
new doctrine or some truer facts about Him and about religious
things. Christ draws us to Himself. He brings us to Himself. We look
to a person. We look to the Lord Jesus Christ. He is life. We trust Him. That's how confident we are in
Him. We keep preaching Him. We keep
looking to Him. We keep calling upon Him. Trusting
not in the things we do or the things we know. We trust in the
Lord Jesus Christ. We need him. He's the bread of
heaven. He is the truth that we come
to. If we're just coming to a doctrine, that's not coming to Christ.
We're coming to Christ, who is the truth, who is life and salvation. And all his people will know,
will know him. And he shall make you free. When
he says you shall know the truth, he's saying you shall know me,
and I shall make you free. So bless the Lord, rejoice in
him, because Who art thou, Jesus of Nazareth? Jesus of Nazareth
is the truth. He's the light and the life of
his people. You stay right there believing
him and trusting him alone, because you have everything in the Lord
Jesus Christ, you that have him. Amen. All right, brethren, let's
close in prayer. Our dear blessed Lord, we thank
you for your grace, your mercy, your tenderness toward us. We're
unworthy sinners. not worthy of your grace, your
favor, your love, your kindness, your light. But Lord, you freely
and abundantly give it all in your Son, Jesus Christ, who does
everything for us. Lord, thank you for the hope
you've given to us. Help us to wait patiently upon
you, watching and waiting for you to appear. Lord, you know
the hearts of your people. You know our thoughts and our
weaknesses, our unbelief. Lord, we're so thankful that
you don't look to us, but that you look to the Son for everything.
And Lord, thank you for all that you've done for us. Thank you
for the faith, the repentance, the rising up and going after
you and following after you. Keep us, Lord. Keep us walking
in the light of your grace and power. Lord, have mercy and bless
our brethren, those that are sick, those that are troubled,
those that go astray. Lord, recover your people. Draw
us back to yourself. Keep us ever in the light and
presence of our Savior, at his feet like Mary. Let us ever be
joyful and find everything in him. Lord, help us even in things
which are known or not known. Lord, you know all things. And
so we pray that you would bless this work, establish this work
here, call out your people, fill your people with faith, light,
and hope in Christ, and join them with us that we may feast
upon the bread and the feast of fat things in our Savior.
It's in his name we pray and give thanks. Amen. Hey, brother. Let's stand and sing a closing
hymn, number 46, Praise God for Grace, 46. you Eternal love, electing grace,
Secured for me in heaven a place, Chosen from all eternity, The
Son of God my blood. Lord, me. The Spirit came in sovereign
power At the exact appointed hour Revealing Christ, creating
faith My soul be quickened from It's death ? How I rejoice in sovereign grace
? My sovereign God shall have my praise ? Praise God for grace,
praise God for grace ? Sovereign, eternal, safe in grace
