Psalm 103. And the title of the message is, The
Call and Means of Blessing the Lord. The Call and the Means
of Blessing the Lord. The Scripture says in verse 1,
O bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless
his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and
forget not all his benefits. And then he begins to list some
of them. Who forgiveth all thine iniquities,
who healeth all thy diseases, who redeemeth thy life from destruction,
who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies, who satisfieth
thy mouth with good things, so that thy youth is renewed like
the eagles." Here, we may see one of the highest
Psalms in all of Holy Scripture. one of the highest Psalms of
Holy Scripture concerning the praise of God for the greatness
of His salvation that He purposed in eternity, that He accomplished
at the cross of Calvary, and that He has applied to the hearts
of everyone of us who believe on Him. This Psalm is our Psalm. This praise of David is the praise
of every believer in Christ. It is the desire of David as
it is the desire of us this morning. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and
all that is within me. Bless His holy name. Is that not why we're here? We are here to worship God. That is the purpose of this.
We are here to worship God, to bless Him. And it is our, my
desire, that the Holy Spirit would pour out the meaning of
this to us. that He would open this so much
so that we could not contain ourselves but to bless God with
all that we have, with everything in us, with all the reigns of
our nature, bless the Lord. Oh my soul, very core of my being,
I pray that for us, I do, I ask, this is something we can't muster,
you can stir it, try to stir it up all you want to, This is
a gift. This is something God Himself
must reach down and do for every one of us, that we may bless
Him. And is He not worthy of being
blessed? Is He not worthy of being praised?
Yes, my soul, He's worthy. He's worthy. We should bless
the Lord. hope in the eyes of my heart
that I might see the greatness of his benefits that's how you
bless him you want to know how to bless him here it is you need
to see the greatness of his benefits the greatness of his person and
the greatness of his work the benefits that we now possess
that cannot be removed or changed rejoice you believer you should
rejoice that all the benefits and blessings that you possess
that are here mentioned in scripture are yours and can never be taken
away from you. Ever. No one can take them away. Not you or not anyone else, not
Satan or all the hosts of hell can ever take these blessings
from you. These benefits. And it's because
of these benefits we are able, we are willing to bless God. God says of Himself, He says,
I am the Lord, I change not. Therefore, you sons of Jacob
are not consumed. Not consumed. And so, David,
by the Holy Ghost here, for our comfort, has written this psalm
so that we may also now stir up our hearts by the power of
the Spirit, stir up our hearts to bless the Lord God, to praise
Him and His immutable work. Now, this psalm, it may be divided
into three sections, and we're only going to look at the first
section. There are three sections, one through five, is the psalmist
singing of personal mercies. Personal mercies that he has
received, and his desire to stir up his heart to those mercies
in blessing God. Verses 6-19, David magnifies
the attributes of God, not just to himself, but then to all of
God's church. He uses illustrations of God's
work among the saints. so that this might stir up the
whole congregation to bless God. And then in verse 20 to 22, David
longs for all, all people to bless the Lord. First of all,
look at that at the very end, he said, bless you the Lord all
ye his host, and look where he begins, ministers of his. Well,
how is this word proclaimed so that you might bless the Lord?
It must first bless the minister. It must first bless him so that
he may give the message to you, and when he does, look what he
says, bless the Lord all the works in all places of his dominion. Bless the Lord, O my soul. So this is division. We're only
looking at the first. Only looking at the first. If
I have time to make a mention of the second two, I may do that,
but I really think that we're only going to be able to do this.
So, this is my purpose. This is my intention and this
message, my desire, is that you and me, personally, individually, right now, bless
the Lord. That's the intent of this psalm.
The intent of this psalm is that you should bless the Lord. And so I've divided this psalm
into three distinct necessities. Three necessities. First of all,
I want us to see the necessity of blessing the Lord. It is necessary
that the believer bless the Lord. Second of all, the necessity
of personal blessing. It is not necessary that others
bless the Lord, it is necessary that you bless the Lord. That's
where David begins, isn't it? He later on addresses the congregation,
which is good. If you can bless the Lord, then
you would be capable of addressing others. But right now, bless
the Lord, O my soul. Personal. And the third thing
is the necessity of remembering the benefits. The necessity of remembering
the benefits of God's grace toward us. You won't ever bless the
Lord unless you remember the benefits. You won't. You can't
see God except through what He's given us. The blessings that
are in and through the person and work of Jesus Christ. So let's deal with the first
one. The necessity of blessing the Lord. This man who wrote
this was David. David was a man chosen of God,
a man after God's own heart. He was a saved man by the same
grace and faith that you're saved. So then this message is applicable
to us, to all saints. He was a man of great affliction
and trouble, wasn't he? In his youth, he was brought
out there to be a champion before all of Israel, and yet he was
hated by Saul, persecuted, chased like a dog for most of his youth. He was oppressed and persecuted
for no fault of his own. and yet we know that in his old
age he was a man of great sin he sinned greatly he murdered
he had committed adultery with a man's wife and murdered him
to cover it up David sinned greatly before God who among us can't identify then
with David. Are we not men full of troubles
and difficulties? Are not we not people full of
great sin? Yes! We who are believers understand
this and it causes us great grief and sorrow in our life because
of our sin, because of the circumstances of this evil present world, because
of the sickness and affliction of this body that is decaying. We are in awful trouble all the
time. All the time perplexed, all the
time distressed. We're like David in many of these
ways. Look at this psalm just before
this one. Look what David has said about
himself. He's praying. He prays. He says
in verse 1 of Psalm 102, Hear my prayer, O Lord, and let my
cry come unto Thee. Hide not Thy face from me in
the day when I am in trouble. Incline Thine ear unto me in
the day when I call. Answer me speedily. for my days
are consumed like smoke and my bones are burned as an hearth.
My heart is smitten and withered like grass so that I forget to
eat my bread by reason of the voice of my groaning, my bones
cleave to my skin. Anybody here can identify with
that? We can. We understand. David was a man
of like passions as we are. He was a man in need of grace,
a man in need of mercy, a man in need of deliverance constantly,
perpetually, and so are we. So are we. And what did David find when
he cried for mercy? What did he find when he cried
for God's deliverance? He found deliverance. Always. Now, believer, this is good and
true for all of us, that we shall be delivered of our God. We who
are oppressed and persecuted for the cause of Christ, we are
hated by the world. Our gospel is hated by the false
freewill works religion of this day. And so when our troubles
and our distresses we are vexed with our own sin and our own
flesh, we weep not just for physical common sorrows. Now we have all
physical common sorrows, don't we? But we have a deeper sorrow. When we're sick, we have a deeper
sorrow because we understand spiritual things. Spiritual things. We suffer spiritual sorrows and
cry unto God. Therefore Paul said, we wrestle
not against flesh and blood, against principalities and powers,
against rulers of darkness, spiritual wickedness in high
places. So what then is our weapon? What
then is our defense in such times? Apostle Paul said, put on the
whole armor of God. Blessed plate of righteousness.
The helmet of salvation. Shod your feet with the preparation
of the gospel of peace. Gird about your loins with the
truth. What is he saying? Bless the Lord. That's what he's
saying. Bless the Lord and remember his
benefits. This is the armor and the weapon
by which we stand and fight in the struggle against our flesh
and against this world. This weapon we have now here
before you, look, you troubled saint as David did, and bless
the Lord, determined to do what David determined to do. Bless
the Lord, O my soul. Believer, you should, in your
warfare, in your struggle, seek always, only, perpetually, constantly,
to bless God. To bless the Lord. whatever state you find yourself,
whatever trouble, whatever sin, whatever difficulty. And listen,
these troubles sometimes, and our sin especially, make us cold
and indifferent to the things of God. Isn't that right? We find too often our hearts
so cold in blessing God. Instead of looking to God for
help, where do we go? We look to the arm of flesh. We look to man's reason, man's
wisdom, instead of seeking God for help. This is too often our
case. We're so prone to it. Some believers,
I've seen this in great times of trouble and crisis, you know
they run from the gospel? That just seems, in spiritual
wisdom and understanding, that is opposite of what we should
be doing. The gospel is the source of strength. It's the source
of hope. It's the source of comfort for the spiritual soul of the
believer. And yet, we flee from it. Prone to wonder, Lord, I feel
it. Prone to leave the God I love. Oh, take my heart and steal it.
He don't seal me, I surely would leave. Praise God, He sealed
us and we don't want to leave and we can't leave. The means of God preaching and
prayer are things that sometimes we neglect and the result of
it is a cold heart. And so we hear David, like David,
is your heart cold? I'm sure that David needed his
heart at this particular time was cold, otherwise he would
not need to stir himself. He must stir himself to bless
the Lord. Why? Because his heart was cold,
his heart was indifferent, and so he told his soul, Bless the
Lord, O my soul! Get up! Wake up! What are you
doing slumbering? Bless the Lord! What are you
doing so cold and dead? Bless the Lord! Praise His name
in whatever your circumstance or trouble. Bless the Lord. And so then we must ask this,
what is it to bless the Lord? I've said it many times, I haven't
told you what it is. How am I to bless the Lord unless
I know what it is? Well, we know this, God blesses
us, doesn't he? How does He bless us? Well, He's
going to see how He blesses us by adding things to us. Things
that we don't have righteousness, things that we don't possess
holiness. Those things were added to us
by the work of Christ, merited by His work, applied to us, and
we are blessed. But we cannot add anything to
God. Our praise adds nothing to God. So it's not adding to God. What
are we doing by blessing? I've told you this before. It's
very important that the root word of this word bless means
to kneel. To kneel. To bow. Submit. Submit thyself, O my soul, before
the Lord. Submit thyself. Kneel before
thy God and give praise. That's what it has inclination
for. Praise. To bow down, submit, and offer
praise and thanksgiving to God. We are to bless God, then listen,
you must bow. You will never bless God unless
you bow, unless you submit. Believer, here is where heart
healing and all joy and blessings begin, is when you prostrate
yourself before God. When you lay out yourself before
Him, trusting only in Him, and pleading only for His hand of
mercy. This is where it begins. Any
believer desires to be happy. I mean, if you desire any joy
at all in this world, in your soul, I'm not talking about outward
things, because when you are blessed with the Lord, I promise
you, you'll have more trouble in this world. But, you will
have more strength if you are blessing God. You'll have more
joy, inward joy. It begins with prostrating ourselves
before God. Come now, sinners, all sinners,
and bless the Lord. Bow down before Him. See the
greatness of His grace and the greatness of His person and all
the spiritual blessings that are in Christ. Look now, my soul,
unto the Lord who first loved me, who chose me, who redeemed
me by the blood of His own Son and who quickened my soul by
the Holy Spirit. Bless Him. Bless His wisdom and His mercy
of how He could be just and justify the ungodly by the representation
and substitution of Jesus Christ. Look and see the great power
that He has purposed in your salvation, how He's accomplished
it and applied it to you. Bless the Lord, O my soul. Bless
the Lord, because He rules all things. Isn't this a point of
blessing? That we should be thankful that
nothing's left to chance? Or random fate? Or the will of
man? Thank God! It is not moving according
to the will of man, but of God! This is the blessing! It's a
point of blessing! To know that all things are moved
after the counsel of His own will. Bow down to this! If you'd
be blessed at all, you need to bless this. You need to bless
God. You need to bow to Him. Now bow to him, believer, because
of his great mercy to you. Remember that infant polluted
in his own blood? That was us. By nature, we were
filthy, bastard children, left to die, polluted in our own corruption
and flesh, left to ourselves, we would have died. But God,
seeing none, I pitied us. None could save us, but God pitied
us. He Himself wretched down into
the mire and pulled us out, washed us in the blood of His own Son,
robed us in the righteousness of His Son, and made us His sons. put his spirit within us and
a new nature anybody now have any cause to bless God you who
have been blessed of God surely you know you must bless God you
must praise God this is a necessity let us not then murmur and complain
oh if you're murmuring and complaining you're not blessing God that's
for sure complaint is nothing but against
God. It's saying that your wisdom
is better than God's. Well, I would have done it this
way. Your way would have turned to crap just like my way would
have. God's way is the way. And to have our way is nothing
more than to defy his wisdom. No! You can't murmur and bless
God at the same time. So go away with murmuring and
bless God. Bless God. Praise God and bow
down, submissive to His will and His work in Christ for us. The remedy for a cold heart,
the only thing that should melt the heart of stone is to come
into the presence of God. Now that'll melt any heart. I
just don't care how stony or cold your heart is. You get into
the presence of Christ, your heart will melt. you bow down
at his feet and you touch his feet and your heart will melt. I think of Martha and Mary, those
two believers. Martha was in there busy, busy,
busy, busy. Some of you just so busy. Mary was at the feet. And what
did Jesus say? She has chosen the better thing. Now Martha's was good. Mary's
was better. What? Bless the Lord. Bow down. Hold His feet. Hold on. Praise His name. Secondly, the necessity of personal
blessing. Now I've told you all to bless
the Lord, didn't I? I said you should bless the Lord.
You should bless the Lord. No. I should bless the Lord. If I'm ever to tell you to bless
the Lord, I must first bless the Lord myself. And so David,
he does later commend all others to bless the Lord, but not before
he himself has blessed the Lord. Personal blessing the Lord is
necessary. We must do it ourselves. Bless
the Lord. Notice his words. Bless the Lord,
O your soul. Is that what it says? No, bless
the Lord oh my soul and all that is within me bless I Remember hearing this or reading
this at one time His pastor he was praying that the Lord would
send revival and he got into a closet and he drew a circle
on the floor around himself and He said Lord begin the revival
right here. I That's what I want. Right here
first. Begin with me. Open my eyes. Open my heart. Let me see Christ. Let me hold Christ. Let me bless
Christ. Oh, that I would bless Christ
personally, intimately. Bless the Lord. Believer, there's
joy, there's no joy in half-hearted, inconceived and unintelligent
praise. There's no joy in it. Listen,
if you're half here and half somewhere else, there's no joy
in it. If you're blessing the Lord only outwardly, there's
no joy in it. No, we must totally give ourselves
to this, blessing the Lord. in every facet of every part
of our life daily. Bless the Lord. It's not something
you just do here. It's just something you do everywhere
you go. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and
all that is within me personally. Whether anybody else bless the
Lord, I don't know. But I myself know I must bless
the Lord. I must do it. I must praise Him. I want to. It is the heart of
every true believer to want to praise the Lord. Now some may be content with
only lip service, but I'm not. Are you? I'm not content with
stirring up the flesh. That's easy to stir up the flesh,
isn't it? You get a bunch of people cheering together, pretty
soon you're cheering right along with them. You stir up the flesh
real easy. But that goes just as easily as it comes. I don't
want to just stir up the flesh. I want this to be real and personal
and intimate in my own very soul, so that it comes out from the
heart, not from the outside in, but from the inside out. I need
to bless the Lord in my soul, with my soul, all my soul, with
all that is within me. Bless His holy name. Bow down to Him. And listen,
when should you bless the Lord? Now. Don't wait. Don't wait. Do it now. I want to bless Him now. Right
now. Bless the Lord, O my soul. and
all that is within me, bless his holy name." I like this,
the Puritan writers, they used to divide the being of a man. They said the man is made up
of body, soul, and spirit. He's made up of mind, the heart,
and the will. Now, all of those should be engaged
in blessing God, in praising God. And it should be done personally,
intimately. Okay, now then, I've told you
that you should bless the Lord. I've told you that blessing is
kneeling before God, is praising God, honoring God for His work,
His person. Blessing the Lord must be personal.
Oh, but how can I bless the Lord? What is the means by which we
are to bless God? Back to the text. Bless the Lord, O my soul. Listen,
here it is. And forget not all His, what? Benefits. Now, you want to bless
the Lord, you're going to have to know His benefits. You're
going to have to know what it is that He has given you. You're
going to have to know what it is that Christ has provided for
you, on your behalf, in order to be able to bless the Lord.
Otherwise, you won't bless Him. You won't bless him unless you
know these things and you keep these things in remembrance.
Seeing God is worthy of blessing, seeing we must personally bless
him, this is the means David implores to stir up his own heart
by remembering and recalling the blessings of God. The benefits. Now listen, you
and I are prone to forget the benefits. Now you want to know
why you're in trouble? You want to know why we grieve?
Why we're in perplexities? Because we have forgotten the
benefits. If we should always constantly
remember the benefits, we would be the most happy people in all
the world. We would be the most giving,
the most fervent, the most zealous for the gospel, the most outwardly
righteous people in the world, if we would not forget the benefits.
We would be the most humble and gracious of people. We'd be the
most giving of people, if we should remember always the benefits. If we should see these benefits
not just applied to others, but mine, personally. They're my
benefits. This is what God has given to
me. They're mine through Christ. And if I can possess those things,
then I can rejoice, regardless of the suffering. So we are prone
to forget, therefore the Lord encourages us, remember, forget
not the benefits And so there are five things,
five things, five benefits that you're to remember so as to keep
you blessing the Lord. Here is one. Who forgiveth all thine iniquities. Forgiveth all thine iniquities."
David said in another place, he says, out of the depths have
I cried unto thee, O Lord. Lord, hear my voice. Let thine
ears be attended to, the voice of my supplications. If thou,
Lord, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who should stand? But
what did David find? There is forgiveness with thee. Forgiveness with thee. Have you believed on Christ?
This is important because you can't bless the Lord unless you
have faith in Christ. Unless you believe in Christ, there's
no way to praise God and your praise be accepted. Only in Christ. If you believe on Christ, now
pay attention, all your sins are forgiven. Period. All of
them. All of them. How many? Millions. All of them. What sin is not forgiven? There
ain't any. Who forgiveth all? That's it. What hinders you from blessing
God? Is it not your sin? You not feel worthy to approach
and kneel before God? You're not. Let's just be honest. You're not. You're not worthy. But you in Christ are worthy,
and all your sins are forgiven. Why do you then wait to bless
the Lord? Come now and bless the Lord.
Come before His presence with singing. Why? All thy sins have
been forgiven thee. You know, the more we learn about
our depravity, the more we love Christ. You know that? Why? Because
the more we see how great our sins are. the more we see the
greatness of his love. Isn't that what he told that
Pharisee? And that woman that came and weeped on his feet and
wiped it with the hairs of her head, she was a whore. He was
a religious man, moral man. Both of them forgiven, but what
this woman loved more because she had more sin that he forgave. And the more you see that, the
more you'll love Him, the more you'll bless Him. "...who forgiveth
all thine iniquity." I like this word, forgiveth, because it has
the idea of constant, perpetual forgiveness. He has forgiven
all my sins from this point backward. He is now forgiving all my sins,
even right now. And all my sins that I will ever
commit, He will always forgive me. Isn't that what John says? He said, if a man says he does
not have sin, he's a liar. But if we confess our sins, he
is faithful and just to forgive us all our sins. This is a benefit. Lord, forgive me. And every time
he says yes. I know you think, well, I didn't
repent enough. It has nothing to do with your repentance. Forgiveness
of sins, we'll see, does not have anything to do with you
at all. Not any merits in you. There was no merit that he should
forgive your sins. It is the will of God that forgives
your sins. Look at this, and go to 1 Corinthians.
2 Corinthians, chapter 5. 2 Corinthians, chapter 5. I want
you to see that he forgives you because he wants to. Because
it's his will. 2nd Corinthians chapter 5 look at verse 19 to wit that
God was in Christ reconciling the world unto himself not imputing
their trespasses unto them and hath committed to earn to us
the word of reconciliation Friends, God was not willing to impute
your sins to you. That's why your sins will never
be imputed to you. Ever. Who forgiveth all thine iniquity. Look at this second one. Who
healeth all thy diseases. Now we know that every physical
earthly disease is healed by God, but this is a spiritual
malady He is talking about. It is our very nature of sin. What does God do for us as believers
in Christ when He saved you? He did not fix up the old man. He gave you a brand new one. A totally new and righteous nature
in which there is no disease of sin whatsoever. No disease. It's one thing, if you have this
thing on your arm, this pus pocket, and it just keeps popping and
popping and popping, and you put a band-aid on there, and
you take the band-aid off, and look, it's gone. Then it just
keeps popping out and popping out. It's not healed. It's nice
to have it covered. It's nice to have medicine put
on it, and it looks good, but if it keeps coming up, that's
not good. You see, God doesn't just take away and forgive the
sin. He takes the whole sin away. He's taken all of our sins and
He's charged them to His Son. He took all the curse of our
nature and imputed it to His Son on that tree. On Calvary, Christ bore the curse
of the law for us. As it is written, CURSE IS EVERYONE
THAT HANGETH ON A TREE. In that text I just read you,
for He hath made Him to be sin for us who knew no sin. That
you might be made the righteousness of God in Him and therefore in
you is created a new nature that is holy and without sin and cannot
sin. You are that leper that has been
cleansed. You could not, would not ever be able to serve and
worship God, but God has cleansed you. Now you're accepted. Come
in. Worship. Praise God. And he accepts
your praise. But yet, you and I know this,
he did not remove the old man, did he? That old man is still
there, full of pus and all, sin and all. I know he's there. But
the important thing is this. Before God, you have no sin. It doesn't matter what you see.
It only matters what God sees. He's the judge, not you. And
what does He see? In that day and that time, the
iniquity of Israel shall be sought for, and there shall be none. Sins of Judah shall be looked
for, and there shall not be found any there. Why? He's healed you
of all your diseases. Isn't that a benefit? The third
benefit is this, redemption. Who hath redeemed thy life, redeemeth
thy life from destruction. Now in the previous two, the
forgiveness of sins and the cleansing of our nature could not be done
upon us except justice first be satisfied. God could never
forgive your sins without a sacrifice and he could never remove your
sins had he not imputed them to Christ. And therefore you
see now how it is you have a healed nature and forgiveness of sins
only by this. the redemption of the blood of
Christ. That's it. The only means by
which you're forgiven, the only means by which you're clean,
is by the redemption of the blood of the Son of God. Some people
would say, well, man, preacher, if you just say, God forgiveth
all our sins, doesn't that just encourage men to sin? Not if
you understand redemption. Not if you understand the cost
of your forgiveness. Though it's not on you, the cost
of your forgiveness was great. The Son of the living God came
down in human flesh and died in your stead. This is the redemption,
the price that must be offered for our sins. Remember, He redeemeth
by life. What is that? You remember that
redemption of the ass in the Old Testament? Ass was an unclean animal, and
God said if you would redeem the ass, you must offer a sacrifice,
if not break its neck. Guess who the ass is? We're the ass, the unclean animal,
worthy of only our neck to be broken by the justice of God,
but God. redeemed us by the blood of his
Son, and we are redeemed. You see, I'm forgiven because
my sin is paid for. God just didn't wink at my sin,
He paid for it! And under the death of Christ,
God was satisfied. He's satisfied with me because
He was satisfied with His Son. He redeemeth my life. I should
bless God. My life has been saved. My life
has been spared. And I've been given a new nature
and I've been forgiven of all my sins. Why? He hath redeemed
my life from destruction. I should bless the Lord, shouldn't
you? I should bless the Lord. Oh, my soul. and all that is
within me. And look at this, He crowneth
thee with loving kindness and with tender mercies. Remember
that God by Christ has made you to be kings and priests unto
God. Now listen, I want you to pay
attention. I want you to grab this as tightly
as you can. You are kings and priests. kings and priests. How should I be a king? I'm not
a king of this evil world. I'm a king because I'm a son
of God. I am a son of God. I, this wicked
man who has been redeemed and forgiven, God has made a son.
Now you are a son of God. And if a son, then an heir. A
joint heir with Christ. According to the word of God.
You are a son. Now should you not bless the
Lord because you are a son of God? Now you weren't worthy to
become sons. You were chosen to be sons by
grace. Redeemed to be sons by purchase. Called to be sons by the Holy
Spirit. Quickened to be sons by the will
of God. but sons nonetheless." Should you not praise God for
that? "...who crowneth thee with tender mercies." And listen,
believer, our God is more tender than you see Him or perceive
Him to be. Don't you know that everything
He does, He remembers your frame? That you are but dust, He remembers. And so then our father is our
shepherd, should he not guide us with tender mercy? I remember the words of Polycarp
as he was about to burn at the stake. He said, eighty and six
years I have served him and he has been faithful to me, shall
I forsake him now? No! Why? I'm his son. He's my brother. God is my father. Why should I forsake him? He's
guided me all this way, I won't forsake him. I'll bless him. And he did, he blessed him in
his death. He blessed him, and so should we bless God for his
tender mercies. And last thing is this, who satisfies
thy mouth with good things, so that thy youth is renewed like
eagles. This good thing that satisfies
our mouth, what is it? It is the bread of life. It is
the gospel of Jesus Christ. This message of redemption and
forgiveness and pardon and a new nature, this renews our strength. It renews us. He satisfies our mouth with good
things. You know what? I'm not satisfied
unless I hear of Christ. I'm not satisfied unless I know
this, I'm in Christ. If I'm in Christ, I can be satisfied.
If I'm in Christ, I can be complete. Why? I'm complete in Christ.
Complete in Him. Therefore, he says this in Isaiah
chapter 40 and verse 1. He says, Comfort ye, comfort
ye my people, sayeth the Lord your God. Speak comfortably to
Jerusalem and cry unto her that her warfare is accomplished.
Fight's over. It's one. That her iniquity is
pardoned. For she hath received a double
at the Lord's hand, all for all her sins. And that same chapter
in verse 30, it says, Even the youth shall faint and be weary.
The young men shall utterly fall, but they that wait on the Lord
shall renew their strength and shall mount up with wings as
eagles. They shall run and not be weary. They shall walk and
not faint. Bless the Lord, O my soul. Bless the Lord. kneel. Bless the Lord personally, O
my soul, kneel and bow in praise. For what? Forget not all his
benefits. That's how. That's how. May God
ever keep these benefits close to us so that our hearts do not
become cold and indifferent to the things of God that we should
bless Him. I pray God will bless this to
you. Let's stand and be dismissed in prayer.
