Holy Lord is wounded and God
is love I know I feel Jesus keeps and loves me still Thank you, Robin. John and John,
let me make a couple of announcements. First of all, our sister, Roberta
Swartz's sister, passed away this week, and her service is
today at the First Baptist Church of Bassett at 2.30 this afternoon. We need to keep Roberta in our
prayers. There's a new directory here,
or we're trying to update the directory, so everyone take a
look at it, make sure that everything on there is correct, make corrections
as they need to be made so that we can get this updated and get
it out to everyone. No Wednesday night service. Our
pastor is having dental surgery again this week on Wednesday
afternoons. So he will not be able to preach
to us on Wednesday night. So once again, no Wednesday night
service this week. Anything else? I think not. I think everyone knows that Paul
is in Sylacauga, Alabama, preaching for Latter-day this morning,
and we're going to perform the marriage ceremony for him this
afternoon. So we need to keep them in our
prayers and be thankful. In his absence, we once again
have with us Walter and Penny Pendleton from Sovereign Grace
Chapel at Crow West, Virginia. Been here many times. I don't
think Walter really needs an introduction. He's been here
enough that most everyone knows him, and found out that Penny
and Todd are cousins. Walter, if you will, come and
teach us from God's Word. Ron said that everyone here probably
already knows me pretty well. No, you really don't. You might think you do, but you
don't. But I will tell you this, behind this podium, behind this podium this morning,
I feel, and I mean this, stands the biggest sinner in this congregation. I'm not here because I'm a righteous
man in myself. I'm here because God sent me
to declare the righteous one. Turn back to John 4. Thank you,
John, Junior, for reading that for me. I wanted us to have the whole
context of this account, at least in our minds, stuck down in one
of those wrinkles in our brain for now. My text this morning is John
chapter 4, of course. In my text and my subject, the
title of my message is this, and we'll find it in verse 24.
First, let me give you these words. Think about it. Here's
my title, here's my text, here's my subject. Proper worship is
a must. A must. Proper worship is not
optional. Proper worship is not extra. Look at it, verse 24. God is a spirit. Now this is the Messiah speaking,
right? I mean, we found that out here, didn't we? God is a
spirit, and they that worship Him must. Do you see it? This is not my words. This is
not my take on the matter. This is the Lord of Glory's own
words. They that worship Him must worship
Him. And He did not stop there. If he just stopped there, we
might say at least from this, I have a blank check. But he
gives us no blank check. The check is already filled inside
in his blood. God is a spirit. They that worship
him must worship him in spirit and in truth. Now before we even dare dip a
finger or a toe into the scream of the proper worship of God. Let me say, and I am not here
to debate this this morning, to argue this this morning, I
am here to proclaim this here this morning, the worship of
God does not exist outside of the worship of Jesus Christ,
the Redeemer. If you don't know Jesus Christ,
the Redeemer, you don't worship God in truth. You don't worship
God in the Spirit. Thus, you worship God not at
all. I'm not going to read it, but
go back sometime or jot this down. Revelation 5, just verse
13 and 14. Everything worships Him that
sits on the throne, even the fishies in the sea, the birds
in the air. And it says, and the Lamb. You can't worship God and not
worship the Lamb. Why no God Sovereign? I'm glad. I'm glad you do. But do you worship
God in the person of the sovereign Redeemer? The devils know He's
sovereign. They bow down before Christ in
the flesh, and they say much more than what fallen men. We
know who thou art, thou son of God. Oh, don't you come to torment
us before our time? Give us leave to go into the
slag." And he sent him into the slag. That makes me crumble under
dust. The devils know that by their
very nature. I do not. You're talking about
a fog. Now, they fell too. These demons,
they fell too. But they still retain that understanding,
John. Now, you want to talk about total
depravity. When we fell in at them, we did not even retain
that knowledge that God Almighty is manifest in His Son. The book of Hebrews says that
even the angels of God worship Him. Now, if they worship Him,
bless God, we must worship Him. Our Lord put it this way in John
chapter 5, verse 23, the last part of that verse, you don't
honor the Son, you do not honor the Father. You cannot worship
God outside of the Son of God, the Redeemer, the Lamb. put a
period on it, put an exclamation point with it, it's settled by
God himself. Jesus Christ is not an add-on
to the truth of God. Jesus Christ is the truth of
God. So that's settled. It's been
settled. God, who is Spirit, And don't
be confused, and I'm not here to even criticize the King James
Version. It says God is a spirit, but do not think of God as just
one spirit among many spirits. Don't think of it that way. That's
not, the translators were just trying to help us grasp it in
the English from the Greek. God who is spirit. But think about it, God who is
right here talking to this woman in the flesh. Somebody says,
explain that. Can't do it. It's just so. God, who is spirit, who is also
made flesh, he incontrovertibly declared that where we worship,
what we worship, and how we worship is vital. Right? All three. Where we worship,
what we worship, and how we worship is vital. Verse 13, the woman
saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet. Now
think about this. Briefly now, think about this.
She is actually obfuscating here. He's just exposed her immorality. Go call your husband. Why did
he do that? He set her up, folks. He's going
to make her confess the truth about herself. Well, I have no
husband. He said, you've got that point
right. You're right. Now, there's some things she
wasn't right about. He will now dwell with her real problem.
Because let me tell you, Aryan morality is not our real problem.
Our real problem is the proper worship of God. That's our real
problem. Those other things will take
care of themselves if we're enabled by God to worship Jesus Christ
properly. They will. He said, go call your
husband. She said, I don't have one. He
said, you got that one right. He said, you've been married
to five and you're shacking up with one man. Isn't that the way we
put it today? I'm not here to try to hurt your ears or offend
anybody, but that's what he's talking about. And what does
she say? Lord, sir, great respect. Didn't even get mad at him. At
least, thank God. Thank God. Sir, I perceive that
thou art promised. She's trying to avoid the subject. And she thinks she's going to
throw him a fish or two. Uh-huh. You see it? Do you see
it? She says, our father, now she
wants to go to the... Why do you think her mind is
drawn to... Listen, even when we obfuscate,
if God Almighty's on your trail, He will bring you to the subject
you need to be brought to. She was trying to avoid the immorality,
Didn't even realize God Almighty's moving her to introduce, she
introduced the subject to worship, to introduce her real problem.
Do you see that? Isn't that amazing? The woman
said, Sir, I perceive thou art a prophet. Our fathers worshipped
in this mountain. That's one of the mountains in
Samaria. And ye say that in Jerusalem
is the place where, see it, where men ought to worship. Jesus said
unto her, Woman, believe me, The hour cometh when ye shall
neither in this mountain, nor look, nor yet at Jerusalem."
Do you see it? The Jews had worshipped God at
Jerusalem for hundreds of years. Had they not? Rightfully so,
because there God ordained His temple. There's where the sacrifices
were offered. But Jesus Christ said, listen,
it ain't about a physical place on earth. It wasn't just, no,
you don't worship in this mountain in Samaria. He said, not even
in Jerusalem. Isn't that what he says? So put
that in your pipe and smoke it. No, in this mountain or yet in
Jerusalem, worship the Father. Ye worship, ye know not what. That's straightforward. He didn't
hammer on her about the five men she'd been married to and
the ones she was shacking up with, did he? What does he now
say? You've got a problem with your
worship. You don't even know what you worship. You're worshipping
in the wrong place and you're worshipping the wrong thing.
You know what he says? No, folks, he was worshipping
the God of Jacob. Wrongly. In error. In heresy. Thus, it was indeed
no worship at all. Ye worship ye know not what,
we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews. But
the hour cometh and now is when the true worshippers shall worship
the Father, now here's the how, in spirit and in truth, and he
said it twice. That lets me know this is vital,
vitally important. The where we worship, the what
we worship, is a person. We worship a person and we worship
that person at his feet. We don't come up to him and he's
our big buddy. No sir, you don't worship somebody
who's your big buddy. You worship someone who you know
his state is far superior to yours. That's the kind of things
you worship. Now, if you don't understand
that, you don't understand even false worship. But there's people
in this world that even don't get that. Whatever you worship, you put
great esteem on. Or you don't worship it. I don't worship these shoes.
They ain't much to worship. Are they worth worshiping? Or
my socks? And yet, Men do that very thing,
whether it's a sock or a shoe or something else. Unless you
are bowing at the feet of Jesus Christ, you and I included, we
are not worshiping God. This is our subject for today. This is it. The proper worship
is a must. So you've got to worship in the
right place. That's at someone's feet. You've got to worship the
right thing. That's a person. And you've got
to worship in the right way. How you worship? In spirit and
in truth. Three brief things. Think about
this. Apart from true worship, there is no salvation. Qualifier. God saves no one for
worshiping. Worship is not a duty we perform
to get salvation. You worship Christ because He
has saved you. That's just the way it works.
You don't earn God's salvation even by worshiping Christ. You
worship Christ because He deserves to be worshipped even if He sends
me to hell today. And the religion of this world
that calls itself Christian does not get that. Christ deserves
to be worshipped all of my life, even if in the end I go to hell
for it. So listen, if I don't understand
that, then you don't know what you are compared to Him. You
don't see this great gulf fixed. But if you get just a inkling
of it, It's a privilege to worship Christ even if I've got to perish
in the end. Oh, God help me. The saved will
worship Christ in spirit and in truth. Secondly, true worship
originates with God. Did you hear what I said? True worship originates with
God and is not derived from fallen man. There are some in professed
Christianity that love this one here. Look at it, verse 23, But
the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall
worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father seeketh
such to worship Him. And then they present God as
just scrambling around in heaven trying to find someone who will
let Him be worshipped to some degree or another. And that is
not in this text. As a matter of fact, just a few
days before, go back and read all the context, he had just
talked to a man named Nicodemus. And he said these words to Nicodemus,
verse 6 of chapter 3, that which is born of the flesh is what?
Flesh. And that's all it will ever be.
Even after God saves you, your flesh is still just flesh. All
the passions, the desires, the evil corruption is going to remain
with you until you die and God loses you from that monstrosity.
That which is born of the flesh is flesh. Oh, but thank God He
didn't just leave it right there. And that which is born of the
Spirit, capital S, and rightfully so, that which is born of the
Spirit is Spirit. So if you worship in the Spirit,
who originated that with you? God did. John did. Also, number three, truth is
never diluted, mixed. Truth is absolute. You can go
back and read what John said, 1 John 2, verse 21, the last
part of the verse. We know this, no lie is of the
truth. Men and women today what to try
to think or teach. They infest the minds of men
and women and little girls and boys with this idea. It's all
really grave. And it's really up to you. As
long as you worship God, it don't matter how you worship God. Just
worship God and just be what you want and do what you want.
That is a lie of Antichrist himself. If you ever mix a lie with the
truth, the truth is no longer truth. It becomes the lie. It becomes the lie. See, if I
take the truth and I take one word out of it, it's no longer
truth. It's a lie. The one God who is
to be worshipped is Spirit. That's what it says. But think about it, he is the
only eternal, self-existent, immutable, intrinsic spirit. He is spirit. Every other spirit
is derived from him. You remember in the beginning,
God formed Adam's body out of the dust of the earth? Then what
does it say? That God breathed into his nose breathed into his
nostrils the breath, that's the word, the Hebrew word, the breath
of what? Life! And this was even physical,
but there it was even spiritual. He breathed into him everything
that man could ever be in an original creation. He breathed
into his nostrils the breath of life, and then and then only
did man become what? A living soul. Most people think spirit is this. Now, am I not telling you the
truth? You see that? You ever see that
on TV? Spirit means this. And remember,
God is this intrinsically, immutably, eternally, self-existently, it
means vital life principle. That's what it means. Vital life
principle. Thus, God must be worshipped
in spirit. That is derived, of course, because
you don't have this in yourself. That which is born of the flesh
is flesh. That which is born of the spirit is spirit. It must
be derived. What? This vital life principle. In other words, true worship,
then, is to live and breathe the worship of Christ. Do you
see that? That's what it means. To worship
in spirit means to live and breathe the worship of Christ. You ever
heard someone say, boy, that man lives and breathes sports.
You know what they mean, don't you? They're talking about spirit.
Aren't they? And we even, you know, we go
to school, we have our pep rallies where you try to stir up what?
Spirit, right? Spirit. We're talking about vital
life principles. We want these people to live
and breathe this thing, right? Well, this is what Christ is
talking about. They that worship God must worship Him. How? In vital life principles. It don't become a part of your
life. It is your life. I can't live without it. I can't
get away from it. When I've tried to run from it,
God lays hold of me and brings me back because it's a vital
life principle. That's what, we ain't talking
about this. We ain't talking about this. We're talking about
something that grips you down in here and you can't get away
from it. To live and breathe the worship
of Christ. Oh God, enable me to do that
very thing. True worship is not superficial.
But most of what we call worship today is just a lot of superficial
outside stuff. That's flesh. When we're doing
it with this, it's down in here, hidden, and most people don't
even really see it. Most of the time, we don't really
perceive it ourselves. It's that time when God bows you down because
of whatever thing in your life, that when you fall down at the
feet of Jesus Christ down in here and say, God save me, just
like Peter when he began to say, Lord, save me, I'll perish. And I don't care whether that's
your spiritual salvation, your physical salvation, whether it's
a V-O-U-O, or whether it's your eternal soul, bow down to the
feet of Christ and say, Oh, Lord, save me. True worship is not superficial,
fleeting, secondary. It's not on the peripheral. True
worship is central to true worshipers. If it's a, I can take it or leave
it, then you're not worshiping Christ. You're not worshiping
Christ. But true worship, true worship
is not unguided zeal. Nor is true worship just some
blank check to any kind of religion you want to. Just tack the name
of Jesus on it and the name of God on it. Throw a trinity in
there every once in a while. Maybe a redemption and a lamb.
Just use a few religious words and then just go on about your
merry old life. I went to church today and worshiped God. Didn't
you worship Him yesterday? Didn't you worship Him the day
before? You see, we don't worship God on Sundays. True worshipers
worship God every day. We gather together to worship
on Sunday or Sunday night or Wednesday. You see what I'm saying?
This is the problem with much of so-called Sabbatarianism,
Seventh-day Adventists. Well, we worship God on the sixth
or seventh day, right? It should be a seventh day. The
Sabbath. Well, you can tell how much I
know about the law, don't you? We worship God on Saturday. Now,
wait a minute, Saturday is a day of rest. Now, granted, that's
worship, but the Sabbath day is not about gathering together. It's about staying in your house,
keeping your mouth shut and your hands still, and just sit down
and relax in God. And where are you going to find
that? Ain't but one place to find that.
That's Christ. That's Christ. You see, they that worship Christ
must worship him in spirit and, look at what it says, and in
truth. Five points, five things. True worshipers worship God as
he has revealed himself in Christ Jesus. The only way you and I
ever see the truth of God as if we are shown it, revealed
it by God in the face of Jesus Christ. And since we can't see
that physically, and since that don't even help physically, thousands
have seen Him physically. Huh? Where does He show you that?
In His Gospel. Look at what these people said.
Oh, they believed when the woman, yeah, they believed. They had
hope. They were saying, something's happened to this gal. You know,
that one's checking up over there. Look at what, she's coming, look
what she's telling us. Christ said, go down and get
them. And I can see them coming up the road, can't you? That's
why Christ said, see the fields. Here they come, fellas. Here
they come, fellas. And you didn't do none of this.
Isn't that true? Here they come! And they said,
now we believe. It's kind of like old Job. He
said, I've heard of you that hear in my ear, but now my eye
seeth thee. God laid hold of me personally
by the preaching of His gospel and bowed me to the feet of Christ
and He will not let me go. Secondly, true worship is reverence
for God as He is. as he is, not how we want him
to be. You ever just quoted a scripture
and somebody says, well, my God's not like that? You're right. And let's quit arguing with him
and say, well, you didn't know. You're right. That's what he
did with this woman. You don't even know what you're
worshiping. Isn't that what he did? See, because a person like me
is not just about tweaking their worship. It's a whole different
kind of worship in a whole different place, in a whole kind of different
way. You don't just tweak the old
worship and bring it into some orthodox line. It's something
established by God's spirit and the preaching of his gospel.
It's reverence for God as he is, and not for fear of condemnation. Now, you remember what I said
to you that started out, but let me tell you this. I don't worship
God just trying to stay out of hell. And you don't worship God just
trying to stay out of hell if you're worshiping him in spirit
and in truth. You're worshiping him in spirit
and in truth, one for fear of insulting his very being. Here's
who he has revealed himself in, his son. Look at Jesus, you'll
see who God is. Now, I will worship in accord
with that. Right? I will worship that. I will bow down at that person's
feet and I'll worship him as he is. As he is. But preacher, I don't know all
that he is. No, but if God Almighty has laid
hold of you in sovereign saving grace, you know that he is. Huh? You know what the book says? Faith believes that God is. And
thank God, and is a rewarder of them that diligently seek,
what? Him. You see, he deserves worship.
Therefore, when God Almighty lays hold of you, gives you that
vital life principle of worship, deep down in here, you worship
Christ because he deserves it. He deserves it. And this begs
my next point. True worship is in spirit. Thus
it is not just some dry doctrinal orthodoxy. It's not just about
saying all the right things. It's not about believing all
the right doctrines. We believe certain doctrines.
Yes, we do. But it's based upon Him. Christ. My worship is of a person. Your
worship is of a person. If you are true, worshiper of
God. This begs another point there,
number four. True worship is also in truth. Thus it is not
unhinged heretical beliefs. I just believe about God what
I want to believe. It don't work that way. It just don't work
that way. You can believe that way, you
can worship that way, but you'll be just like this woman. And
maybe you don't have immorality tagging along behind you and
tagging with you. Whether you do or you don't, you worship
God in the wrong way, you'll perish. And no, it doesn't tell us here,
but I know that this encounter of this woman at this well with
this man changed her life forever. You know how I know that? Well,
one of this book teaches us that. The preponderant testimony of
this book is you can't ever have this kind of encounter with Jesus
Christ and it not change everything about your life. But you know
the one main change it does? It bows me to his feet instead
of something else's feet. Here's number five. Last point, but I'm not done
yet. Just the last point. True worship
ascribes to Christ all worth. Never most worth. If you're ascribing most worth
to Christ, you're just playing games. If I'm ascribing most
worth to Christ, then I'm just playing games. True worship ascribes
to Christ all worth. All praise. All honor. All merit. So much so that it
says this about myself. I have no worth. I have no praise. I have no honor. I have no merit. I'm a sinner. I'm just like this
woman was. I'm just like this woman was.
I got all this baggage with me too. Immorality and false worship. consumes me by nature. Oh, let's thank God He, by His
Spirit and His Gospel, crossed my path at the well. You know
why? Because He must needs do that.
You think Jesus Christ couldn't have got to where He was going
some other way? He could have just snapped the equipment, thought
it, and just appeared somewhere else. Could He not? But He must
needs go through. Aren't you glad Jesus Christ
had to come to your Samaria? To confront you where you were,
like you were, and deal with you honestly, and not just try
to pat your back on your way to hell. Make you feel good about
yourself, and then maybe you'll worship Him for it. Here's the
truth. Think about it. Must worship
Him in what spirit and in truth. And we are just like Pilate.
Our flesh says what is. We're not talking about facts.
We're talking about truth. But preacher, this Bible is filled
with thousands of things that are true. Well, we're not just
talking about things that are true. We're talking about truth. But our heart and mind says,
well, what is truth? Well, if the book calls something truth.
You hear me? Now, think about it. If the book
says, this is the truth, that if I'm worshipping God in spirit
and truth, that means I'll bow down to that. Is that not? Do you understand that? These
young ones, I bet you they understand that just as well as anybody
else. Problem is, the older we get, the more we say, don't you
tell me how it is. Huh? Think about it. Acts 4,
go back and look at it sometime. Acts 4, 27 and 28. For a truth,
the disciples said. So this lets me know they're
about to tell me, John, they're about to tell me the truth. And
what is the truth that they tell us in that passage? Go back and
look at it. God Almighty is absolutely sovereign in everything, even
in the wicked deeds of men when they killed Jesus Christ on that
cross. Now, if that angers you, then
you've got a problem with worshipping God in the truth. You see what
I'm saying? It says, for of a truth. So let's not argue about what
the truth is. It says that's the truth. Go look at it for
yourself. You don't even need. Go read
it for yourself. Now, here's the question. Does
that anger you? You say, I will not worship that way. Then you've
got a problem with your worship. Here's another one. But I tell
you of a truth. Go back in my day sometime. Luke chapter 4, verse 25, 26,
27, 28. But I tell you of a truth. What? There were many widows
in Israel. Way back yonder. God didn't feed one of them.
There were starving widows in Israel. And God didn't feed one
of them. There were many lepers in Israel. Way back there that time. And
God didn't cleanse one of them. He went and cleansed two Gentiles,
fed a Gentile widow, and healed a Gentile Syrian of his leprosy. He said, I tell you of a truth.
This is the way it is. God has mercy on whom he will
have mercy. Now if that offends you, then
you are not worshipping God in spirit and in truth. I have been brought to love that.
I know you've probably heard it over and over again. People
say, well, you know, you're talking about that Jacob, I love Esau,
I hate that thing. I don't understand how God could
hate Esau. Well, God's never brought you
to the true place of worshiping Him in spirit and in truth. Because
when He does, you will be amazed that God would even think of
allowing Jacob to worship Peter. I can understand why God would
hate Esau. God ought to hate me. I am corrupt. I am sinful. I am plagued because that's just
not what I do. It's what I am. And yet the scripture says, for
God so loved the world, that kind of people. For God so loved
the world that he gave his only begotten Son, for what? To save
believers. And then what it says, to save
believers. So do you believe the truth? You see it? Here's a third one.
There was a lady one time, you can go back and find it, Matthew
chapter 15, 25, 26, 27, 28. And this woman said, truth, Lord. So I think we're talking about
truth. What he said to her afterwards lets me know that what she said
was truth, because as a woman, I ain't found so great a faith
like that. Not even in Israel. What you've got, most folks don't
have. And what did she say truth, Lord? What did she call the truth?
Christ, right before that, said this, it is not proper for me
to take the children's meat and to cast it to an unclean animal
like you. And she said, truth, Lord. Now if that tees you off, you
have not worshipped that kind of way, then you're not worshipping
God. If that causes you to want to run away, then you're not
worshipping. You're worshipping you know not
what. You're worshipping the wrong thing. You're worshipping
in the wrong place. You're worshipping in the wrong
way. Me included. I'm not preaching
down to you, me included. Do these three, these are simple
examples of truth. The Bible says, here's truth.
You know, that amazes me, because I look at this so much in this
book, and some of it, it is not understandable. I don't understand
how God could be made flesh, and it says that this child grew
Groove and knowledge. Listen, I don't understand, yet
this is the one who knows everything. Because he's the one who's ordained
everything as it is. Somebody says, well, I'm not
going to believe it because I can't understand it. Now, you don't
live your life that way. You understand how your car works
when you push on that gas pedal? Do you really? Does everybody
here understand how your car works? No, you just know you
push on that gas pedal and it's supposed to go that way. Hit
that brake when it's time to slow down and stop. Do you worry
about all the minute fine details? No, you don't. But when it comes
to religion, you act like you've got to understand it all. Don't
we? No, see, Christ is who He is. God says, be caught up with Him. These three little simple exact
truths, truth, truth, does it drive you to anger or force you
to worship Christ as He is? And that's what I meant to say,
force you to worship Christ as He is. There's a part of me right
now today that says, no, God. I don't want it. There are times
when I say I'm tired of it. My blood relatives, my very My
offspring, they hate me because of it. If people I worked with
knew what I really thought about God and them, they'd kick me
out or get me fired. Right? You ever really told all
the people you work with what you really think about God and
man together? Now, we have to hold back some
things sometimes, don't we? Now, come on, be honest with
yourself. Where's Robin at? When you go
to the lady that does your hair, and she asks you about religion,
why don't you say, yeah, go ahead and talk to her about her total
depravity right then. You may come out with no hair
at all on your head. Now, come on now. Now, I'm not
saying, you understand what I'm talking about. Aren't you glad it doesn't depend
upon us? It depends upon Him? Now, that's
someone worth worshiping. You see what I'm saying? God, God is a spirit, and they that
worship him must live and breathe God as absolutely supreme, and
themselves as absolutely sinful. And that's just a brief slide.
I could have just had John Hume read all this, got up and read
that last line off this yellow piece of paper, and just said,
that's the way it is. You know why I didn't? Because
I didn't want to. God has ordained preaching. He's ordained preaching that
when He's pleased to open the eyes, to open the ears, and to
open the heart, A very sinner. Sinner! Just like you are. Standing
before you, declaring the glories of Christ will invade your soul
and you'll never, ever, ever, ever, ever be able to get away
from it again. I'm glad he ordained it that
way. Wouldn't it just be odd to wake up one morning and all
of a sudden you get out of bed, get ready for your talk and,
well, I'm a Christian now. Ain't this great? You know how
long it lasts? At best, till the next morning,
at your next cup of coffee. At best! But God's ordained it
this way. So bless God, you can't get away
from what you are and who He is. Every time you look at a
man standing here telling you the truth of God, you can look
at him and say, that's a filthy sinner. It's alright, folk. It's alright. There's a filthy
sinner. But Jesus Christ cleanses sinners. Oh God, may it be that your word will
go forth. The gospel trumpet being sounded
according to your ordained way. God, you do your work. Set us
down on the sidelines. Just, God, if you're pleased,
allow us to abode. Allow us to see it. I ask you in Christ's
name. Amen. All right. So maybe we'll sing a song. We want to sing a song. Let's all stand and turn to number
216. If you from sin are longing to
be free, look to the Lamb of God. We'll sing a couple verses. We'll sing one verse. Let's just sing them all. I like them all. Let's sing them
all. If you from sin are longing to
be free Look to the Lamb of God He to redeem you died on Calvary
Look to the Lamb of God Look to the Lamb of God Look to the
Lamb of God, for He alone is able to save you. Look to the Lamb of God. When Satan tempts and doubt and
fears assail, look to the Lamb of God. You in His grace shall over all
prevail. Look to the Lamb of God. Look to the Lamb of God. Look to the Lamb of God. For He alone is able to save
you. Look to the Lamb of God. Are you a weary? Does the wait seem long? Look to the Lamb of God. His love will cheer and fill
your heart with song. Look to the Lamb of God. Look to the Lamb of God. Look to the Lamb of God. For He alone is able to save
you, look to the Lamb of God. Fear not when shadows haunt your
pathway, folks, look to the Lamb of God. In joy or sorrow, Christ is all
in all, look to the Lamb of God. Look to the Lamb of God. Look to the Lamb of God. For He alone is able to save
you. Look to the Lamb of God. There are a lot of years. Thank you.
