Appreciate the water. Everybody
thought I was going to get real thirsty this morning. I appreciate
it. May we get a double. Maybe that's prophetic. Double
blessing. Former and latter reign. Most
of the Psalms are messianic. Do you know what that means,
messianic? The word Messiah is in that word messianic. That
means that most of the Psalms typify or picture the Lord Jesus
Christ. When he preached, it says he
began with the books of Moses and Psalms and the prophets and
expounded unto the people the things concerning himself. And
he said in all these things, they are they which testify of
me. He said to him, or the scripture says to him, give all the prophets
witness. David was a prophet, Solomon,
Moses, the writers of the Psalms, and they all spoke of Christ.
Every Psalm, you can see Christ in every Psalm. Now, but some,
like this one. so clearly speak of Christ, from
the first verse to the last. Every verse clearly speaks of
Christ. This is one of those songs, and
it is such a picture of Christ.
I hope he will reveal it to us. Now, in order to faithfully expound
every verse, expositional, verse-by-verse preaching, I cannot deal with
every verse like I should. But in order to cover them, we'll
have to go through them. When you take a verse like verse
17, His name shall endure forever. That deserves a message all by
itself. All by itself. We could form
19 or 20 messages from this psalm, but we're going to try to go
through each verse. He says, beginning with verse
1, Give the king thy judgments, O God, and thy righteousness
unto the king's son. Now, David is writing this. No doubt he had Solomon in mind,
but God had a greater than Solomon in mind. And God put this on the mind
and heart of David to write this psalm, and it speaks of none
other than the king and the king's son. You see, Solomon was king,
wasn't he? But he was the king's son, too.
He's both the king and the king's son. Well, there aren't very
many fellows that can be said of. But I know one who is king
of kings, and he's also the king's son, the Lord Jesus Christ. And he says here, give him judgments.
All authority has been given unto Christ. All authority. Christ said it in John 5. He
said, The Father hath committed all judgment unto the Son. All judgment. People think of
Jesus, to quote them, as being merely a Savior and a loving
friend, and this and that and the other. He is the judge of
the universe. Revelation says he has keys of
hell and death at his side. They're going to see the Judge
on his throne. Give the King judgment. He has.
God has committed all judgment unto the Son, and thy righteousness
unto the King's Son. God has placed this thing of
righteousness in the hands of Jesus Christ to dole out as he
pleases. We've got to have it. You know that? We have to have
this righteousness. to dwell with God, don't we,
Henry? He's like Joseph, whom Pharaoh
has put in charge of the storehouses. And the people are going to die
unless Joseph doles out to them that coin. Well, unless the Lord
Jesus Christ gives us this righteousness, we will die. We will be judged. It calls Christ the righteousness
of God. He hath made him to be sin for
us who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of
God in him. You see that? Righteousness belongs
to the King's Son, and he gives it to whomever he will. I need
it. We'll see in a moment, he gives
it to whoever asks. Verse 2, he shall judge thy people
with righteousness. He shall judge thy people with
righteousness, and thy poor with judgment." There is a scripture
in Acts 17 that you need to mark it down. Don't turn, because
I just have so very little time to get through this. But Acts
17 says this. He will judge, or God will judge
the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained." Did you catch that? God will
judge the world in righteousness by perfection, by that man, that man whom he
hath ordained. That is, Jesus Christ. He's the
one that God's going to judge every man according to. Now, we'll either be judged standing
beside him. Here's Christ standing on the
scales of God's justice, God's holding. Here's Christ standing
on it. And he's going to either put
us on the other side of those scales to see if we weigh up
to this standard. Right, Barbara? This is what
Scripture says. He's going to either put us on
the other side of the scales to see if we measure up, or in
other words, we're going to be judged beside him. We're going
to stand in the judgment either beside Christ, there stands the
altogether lovely, holy, spotless Son of God, and there we stand,
naked. Or he's going to judge us in
Him. He's going to put us in Christ's
robe and close it up and judge us in Him. Now, which do you
want to happen to you? Stand by Christ and have God
look at you and compare you according to Christ or any. This is why
Paul said, Oh, that I might be found in him. Not having my own righteousness. I've told you what those righteousnesses,
man's righteousness is like. The man's works and his religion
that he works up, you know, like those hospital gowns. You've
all worn them, haven't you? You've been to the hospital.
You've worn them, haven't you? Oh, you put on that gown, and
you know, up front, it might look covered, mightn't it? But,
buddy, eventually you will reveal yourself. You'll be revealed
for what you are. And I'll go no further. So we are
either going to be judged having our own righteousness, which
the scripture says is filthy rags with a lot of holes in it.
God sees right through it. Or in Christ. Covered. What do you want to be? Joe,
where do you want to be found? In Him. In Him. He'll judge thy
people. Notice who he's going to judge
with righteousness or give this right to thy people. And thy
poor with judgment. He's going to judge thy poor
with judgment. I read recently that 3.5 million people in this
country are millionaires. 3.5 million people in this country
are millionaires. None of you. Anybody, raise your
hand. 3.5 million. They said back in
1970, I think five or something, just twenty-some years ago, there
was only like $500,000. This country is rich and increased
with goods and has need of nothing. Very few people live in poverty
now. But there are even fewer people
that are poor in spirit. You won't find 3.5 million that
in spirit. You won't, you'll have a hard
time finding 350,000 that are poor in spirit. But listen to
me, all of God's people are poor in spirit. You know that? They've been blessed by God to
see that they're poor in spirit. You know, blessed are the poor
in spirit. They're the truly blessed ones, those who see themselves,
feel themselves to be poor in spirit. I'm nothing, I'm nobody,
I have nothing. Oh, my, theirs is the kingdom
of God. God will deal generously with
these poor, giving them the unsearchable riches of Christ. All poor people,
all poor in spirit, get the unsearchable riches of Christ. You know, in
our judicial system, so-called, there's no justice But so-called,
in our judicial system, you know who gets to go free? The rich. If you've got enough money, you
can be caught red-handed. That old saying means with blood
on your hands and a knife in your hand and guilty. You can make a confession. And
if you've got enough money, Sherry, you get off free. Not totally
free, but at least free the poor men. Right? If you're rich, it's
the rich that go free in our society. Before God, only the
poor go free. That's what that means. Judge
the poor with judgment. The poor with judgment. You see,
all poor people. See, today only the rich can
get the best logging. Only the rich can afford the,
well, I'm not going to mention their fool name, but only the
rich can afford these fool lawyers. But if you're poor in spirit,
you know you have a court-appointed lawyer. You have a publican defender. And he's never lost a case. Not
one. Never lost a case. If any man
sin, as Scripture says, any poor or in spirit, we have an advocate
with the Father. Who is it? Who is this lawyer?
Who is this advocate? Who has appointed this publican?
Who is my publican? Who is this defender of publicans? Jesus Christ the righteous. And
you know that my defender and my advocate and my lawyer is
the judge, too. Buddy, I'm in good hands. In
good hands. Oh, my. He'll judge the poor
with judgment. And it doesn't cost a cent. Doesn't
cost a cent. We come to him and say, How much
is my defense going to cost? Nothing. I'll pay it all. Verse 3, he says, The mountains
shall bring peace to the people. and the little hills by righteousness."
The mountain. There are several analogies here,
several analogies. The mountains and the hills.
Mount Calvary brought peace, didn't it? Where Christ hung
on that tree and obtained peace by the blood of his cross. Mount
Calvary, what a mountain that was that brought us peace. The
hills, the hill called Golgotha. brought us righteousness, the
hill of Zion. And you could also think of this
as being high or low, rich in faith, poor in faith, great faith,
little faith, peace and righteousness for all, whether you live in
a mountain or live on a little hill, in the Rockies or just
a little rocky mountain. Peace and righteousness. Read
on. Verse 4, He shall judge the poor of the people. Sounds repetitive,
doesn't it? We're going to see Stan. He keeps
saying that. We're going to be glad he did. When God repeats something, when God repeats a thing, it
should double our joy and our assurance. When God repeats something,
you see, we receive of the Lord's hand double. for all of our iniquity. The poor and needy shall be saved.
Read on. He shall judge the poor of the
people. He, Christ, shall judge. He shall
save the children of the needy. They shall be saved from the
oppressor. He shall break in pieces the oppressor. Does anything
oppress you? Anyone oppress you? Your sins? My, my! They oppress me. I'm constantly
under the oppression of my own sin and guilt. Does it oppress
you? It depresses me. My sin, Christ
said, I put them away. And someday he'll put me away
from them. He'll deliver me from that oppressor. Is that good news to you? Do
you want to be done with this evil man called yourself? that
oppresses you, that brings you down, you think, if I could just
be rid of me, I could just fly. Satan, the Scripture says, is
a lion walking to and fro through the earth, seeking whom he may
devour, and I feel like constantly he's got me in his grasp and
chewing on my head. like a lion would. Chewing on
my head, he's going to chew me up and spit me out. You ever
feel like that? He shall deliver you. Someday,
someday, a stronger than he is going to
crush his head. Now, he's already done it. He's
already done it. The reigning power. But someday he's actually
going to deliver me from the presence and influence of that
old lion and put his head right under his foot, and so you'll
never touch him again. Not again. And I'm going to shout,
hallelujah. The oppressor. Oh, that's good
news to me. Look at verse 5. They shall fear
thee as long as the sun and the moon endure throughout all generation. The fear of the Lord is the beginning
of wisdom. This is what the Lord teaches
every child of God. This is where he begins. And
God's people never quit fearing him. They never lose that awe
and that reverence of their Lord. The Lord Jesus Christ I'm talking
about. They never lose their fear and their reverence of him,
just like a proper child, an obedient child, never loses their
awe and respect of their parent. This is the reason I despise
all talk of this Jesus today. It's becoming more and more despicable
to me all the time, the way men are talking about this one. I
saw a license plate a fellow had, and you know those license
plates. Virginians are the worst, aren't
they? But he had, for clever, to be clever, he had I-M-4-G-Z-U-S. He'd even misspelled that name,
which is above everything, for the sake of cleverness, so it
fit on his license plate. I wanted to pull him over. That guy doesn't know Jesus Christ,
does he, Henry? Huh? They'll fear him. Those
that know him fear him. I tell you, those that know him
make mention that his name is exalted. They wouldn't dare put
that name, which is above every name, on the bumper sticker of
their car. As a matter of fact, you can't get his name high enough
for them. I'm not exaggerating a thing.
I'm not telling it as bad as it is. We're going to see someday. We're going to see the fury of
the Lord Jesus Christ as he pours out on all those who did not,
who took his name in vain. The Lord said he'll not hold
them guiltless who take his name in vain. Oh, my. They'll fear him as long
as the sun and moon endure throughout all generations. This is the
generation of them that fear him, and this is how you know
those that are his people. They fear him. They're God-fearing,
Christ-fearing people. Right? Verse, and that's how
you'll know him. Verse six, he shall come down
like rain on the mown ground. I love this verse. Since the
first time I saw this verse, I fell in love with He'll come
down like rain upon the mown grass, as showers that water
the earth. He shall, he did, and he shall. He did. Christ did come. Christ
came the first time over...quickly turn to Isaiah 45, OK? I'm going
to make you take time to turn there. Isaiah 45, this isn't one of my favorite verses here.
I never forget this verse. Isaiah 45, speaking of Christ,
look at it. Isaiah 45, verse 8. Verse 7, I form the light and
create darkness, I make peace. Well, who is talking here? Well,
who's the light? Who's peace? I, the Lord, do
all these things. Verse 8, "'Drop down, then, ye
heavens from above, he is heaven in them. Let the skies pour down
righteousness.'" See, that's where righteousness comes from.
It comes from above. "'Let the earth open up, let
them bring forth salvation, let righteousness spring up together.'
I, the Lord, have created it. He shall come down.'" as rain
on the mown grass. Rain. You know, Christ's coming
the first time was a sweet-smelling, savor of salvation one. Don't
you love to go out right after you've cut the grass and there's been a little shower,
especially in the early summer, late spring. You've just cut
the grass, cut the lawn. And then there comes a spring
shower. Don't you love to walk outside
now? Does that smell good to you? There's nothing like it.
You smell it now. Now I see some of you going,
pfff. No, it's a sweet-smelling savor. Well, is Christ that to you?
Like rain on the mown grass. A sweet-smelling savor of, well,
indescribable. Life. Life. He's coming again. He was the
former Lorraine, and he's coming as the latter right. He's coming
again, and he will be again a sweet smelling savor to his people.
To all those who are still on this earth when he comes, there
shall be showers of blessing. Oh, that today it might fall,
that he might come! But now, wait. He's going to come down like
rain on the mown grass. Scripture says all flesh is grass. And when Christ comes a second
time, He's going to mow them down. He's going to cut down
all grass. Come down like rain on the mown
grass. See that? Showers that water
the earth. A flood such of God's wrath,
such has never been seen, and a flood, a shower of God's blessing,
such has never been seen. Verse 7, In his days, in his
days shall the righteous flourish, prosper. Oh, my, this is like people who
are blessed under a goodly king, a goodly king. Wouldn't you have liked to have
lived, just for a short time anyway, under the reign of Josiah? Or David? Solomon? Someone like that. Wouldn't you
like, just for a short time, until Babylon or whatever came along?
Wouldn't you? I would have. to see real peace
reign, real order restored. Wouldn't you? Real justice served.
Wouldn't you like that, Stan? Well, we will. We do. We do live under the reign of
such a goodly King. Oh, how long is it going to last? We live under the reign and rule
and dominion of the Lord Jesus Christ. How long shall his reign
endure? as long as the moon endureth. Of his dominion, Isaiah says,
there shall be no end, Isaiah 9. He shall have dominion, verse
8, from sea to sea. He has and he shall have dominion
from sea to sea, from the river unto the ends of the earth. Overall,
verse 9, they that dwell in the wilderness shall bow before him,
his enemies shall lick the dust, every knee shall bow, every tongue
confess. Lick the dust. Lick my feet. Who am I? Your Lord. And, Joe,
they won't say it in word only. They'll mean it then. They'll
know it then. We'll know it in salvation. God's
people will know it in salvation and praise, but everybody, every
tongue is going to confess it and know it. The reality of Him
being Lord, they will dwell and the wilderness shall bow before
Him. And he brings his people from the wilderness to bow, and
his enemies shall lick the dust. Verse 10, read on. 10 and 11. Kings of Tarshish. Tarshish. I don't know if it's the same
one, but Saul of Tarshish came, didn't he? He came, and God made
him a king and a priest. Now, the Isles shall bring presents,
and the kings of Sheba and Seba shall offer gifts. What about
the queen? Yeah, her too. All kings shall fall down before
him, all nations shall serve him, all kings and people shall
serve him. Verse 12, here it is again. He
shall deliver the needy when they cry, the poor also and him
that hath no helper. He shall deliver the needy. Do you need deliverance? That
sin I was talking about a while ago? Do you? Do you need it? It says,
He shall deliver the needy. Look what it says. When? When will He deliver the needy?
Are you reading it with me? I want to make sure you're with
me. When shall He deliver the needy? Somebody say it. I dare
you. When? It says it. When? That's it. He shall deliver the needy. Are
you needy? Oh, yes, preacher, but I don't.
You don't what? I just, I don't, I don't, I don't
feel such. Well, you hadn't cried yet. Right? He'll deliver the needy when
he cries. Somebody really needs salvation.
And that's the reason, like I've said so many times, I don't get
too excited when people tell me this or tell me that or so-and-so
is going under conviction or so-and-so did. I think the Lord
is doing something. I hope so. I hope so. But I tell
you what, when he or she cries, when they really cry, the Lord
will deliver them. And you won't, your parent won't
have to tell me, the husband won't have to tell me, his wife
won't have to tell me. They'll come running to tell
me, Lord, you've done something for me. Would you get me in the
baptismal pool, please? When he cries, Lord save me or
I'll perish. When they cry, he'll deliver. That's a promise. So if you don't
have, you're not asking If you're not crying, you're not needy.
He'll deliver the needy. The poor, look at it. The poor
and him that hath no helper. You know who God helps. Now, I know what the old saying
is, but that's a bunch of old Tommy Rock. God helps those who
help themselves? No. He does not. Psalm 72 says
this. Psalm 72, 12 says he'll deliver,
he'll help them that have no helper. God helps those who can't
help themselves. That's who he helps. And this
help is not like mere assistance. Have you ever asked for somebody's
help? What was I doing the other day?
I forget. Something. It was tough. And I didn't have
anybody to help me. Boy, I needed help. What was
I doing then? I forget. But anyway, I was doing
something that required heavy lifting, and I needed help, but
I got it done. Nobody was around to help me.
I didn't really need any help, did I? If I could do it myself,
I don't need any help. This help is not mere assistance,
you know. It's like a hand, make it better,
make it easier. That's not this kind of help.
This is the help. This is like a drowning man going
down, which says, If you don't help me, I'm gone. That's the
help now this is talking about. God helps those who have no help. The one who says, Well, I'm gone.
I'm lost. That's helpless for me. I'm helpless. Then God says, No, you're not. I'm a very pleasant help in Donald
Truffle. Help, Lord, save, Lord, or I
perish. I will, I will, and I have. He shall deliver the needy when
he cry. Have you cried? Are you helpless?
Well, then, if you're not saved, then you haven't. All right,
look at verse 13. He shall spare the poor and needy. and save the souls of the needy."
How many times does he have to tell us this? Why does he keep
saying this over and over again? Huh? You know, he says this three
times. He talks about the poor and needy three times. Three
times. Why does he say this three times?
Huh? He shall save the poor and needy,
deliver the poor and needy. Why does he talk about the poor
and needy three times? Because The triune God, Father,
Son, and Holy Spirit, are engaged to save all the poor and needy. And at the mouth of two or three
witnesses, and you quote the rest of it, a thing is established. At the mouth of two or three
witnesses, a Are you poor? Spiritually? Do you feel like you just don't
know anything about God? You don't have any faith? You
feel like you have, if any faith, very little. Poor. Do you? You feel like there's anything
about you that could commend you to God? That God's going
to look at you and say, what a good girl she is. Do you feel
like there's anything about you that God would would look down
on and favor and say, well, she deserves, are you poor like that
in spirit? He'll deliver you then. There's
one lady in here who's absolutely positively based three times
on the word of God is going to heaven. Sure for heaven as if
he's already there. Poor! Needy. What do you need, Rebecca? Oh,
need everything, don't you? Huh? Now I'm not just talking
about the You know, you like Bill and all that, you probably
need that too. But you need, spiritually speaking, you can't
do anything for yourself. That's me. I know it's you, isn't
it? Huh? He'll help you. The poor
need it. Not once, not just twice, but
three times God said he'll deliver the poor. Anybody else? I'd love to see a show of hands.
I'd love to. God sees a show of hearts. All right, verse 14. He says,
He shall redeem their soul. He shall redeem their soul from
deceit and violence. He shall redeem their soul. You
see, you're not your own. You're bought with a price. Rebecca,
you're no longer yours. I know you've I know you're independent. Women that are forty-something,
whatever it is now, that's up there, are generally pretty independent. And, well, I would say something
about blondes, too, but pretty independent. You think I'm picking
on you this morning. Well, that's all right. You're
going to get a blessing here, if nobody else does. All right?
You're not your own. You belong to the Lord Jesus
Christ. He paid in full for you, and
I don't care what you think and feel you're going to have to
do and all your life. You're not your own. You belong
to him, and he has promised, he has vowed. You talk about
a husband that'll never leave you. He has vowed to stick with
you till death do you unite. thick and thin through riches,
for richer or for poorer, but rather from poorer to richer. He's going to stick with you
until someday he's going to walk you down heaven's aisle on his
arm. You'll be dressed in white then. A virgin presented by Christ
to the Father. Here she is. She was helpless.
She was poor. She was needy. She was her own
woman, she thought. She's mine. She was mine all
along. Now, here she is. She's yours. What's yours is mine. Mine is
yours, and she's mine, and I'm hers. We're all here together
forever, to live happily ever after. You'll redeem their soul. You're
not your own. You're bought with a price. Therefore,
you will not be left, look at it, to deceit. Rebecca, he's
not going to leave you to some deceitful fellow. He's not going to allow you to
be taken in by one of these false preachers. Right, Joe? He's not going to allow his people.
He said, My sheep won't hear the voice of a stranger. He'll
not allow it. He'll not allow you to be taken
by Benny Hinn. He won't do it. You won't fall
for that fool. You won't. You'll fall in love
with Christ and only those that preach him. Deceit, violence,
Oh, did you read the article in the bulletin this morning?
A thousand shall fall at thy side, ten thousand at thy right
hand. It will not come nigh unto you.
You're in the ark, Rebecca. You're going home. You're going
to reach the shore. Oh, you think you're in the fire,
don't you? This fiery crowd? Smoke's not going to be on your
clothes when you get to glory. going to be a smell of smoke.
The poorer things shall not be remembered or come to mind. The poorer things shall not be
remembered or come to mind. The smell of smoke won't even
be on our clothes. Oh, we went through trials, didn't
we, Henry? Henry said, What trials? Don't remember a thing. While those without Christ going
to go through an eternity of nothing but one long trial. Why? Because he redeemed your
soul. He bought you with his own precious blood. Oh, look
at it. Verse 14. Precious shall their
blood be in his sight. Oh, many have lost their lives,
earthly lives, through violence and the sword. I think of the
precious martyrs. I think of Stephen. I think of
all of them. Yet their souls have been redeemed.
They lost their lives, but they gained eternal life. Precious
is their blood, the blood of his sons precious, and the blood
of his sons' sons are precious. Precious in the sight of the
Lord is the death of all his saints." Do you like that verse,
Deborah? I used that at, I think, Burgi's
funeral. Precious in the sight of the
Lord is the death of his saints. I'll use that at yours, too,
if you're a believer. You want me to use that at yours, Joe?
Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his sight.
When you're laying up here in a pine box, Joe Parks, and it
won't be long, you'll be laying up here, right here in this very
spot. That's where we want him, don't we, Nancy? Right here.
Because this is where Joe was. And we want all the world to
see this is where Joe was and this is where Joe died. This
is where Joe found life. We'll have his body right here,
and Nancy will be crying, and Stephen, and I'll be, and Sammy,
and whoever's left will be weeping because we'll miss you. The Lord
will be smiling. His son's coming home. Oh, I
know that sounds sentimental, but I'm telling you, Sam, he
loves you more than that woman does. He loves you more than
your mother or father does. And when his children come home,
it's like a long, a loved one who's come home finally. Is there anybody you'd like to
see he hasn't seen in a while? Hmm? Think the Lord is any less
loving? Oh, I know we're with him. I
know he's with us. Yes, but Literally, we're going to be
with him. He's going to say, here's Joe.
Joe won't be crying. Joe will be laughing like he's
never laughed before. Happier than he has ever been
before. A friend closer than a brother,
a husband closer than his wife was, going to put his arm around
Joe and say, Joe, you're home. Lord. Precious in the sight of the
Lord is the death of his saints. Your home to stay, loved one.
Home to stay. Verse 15, And he shall live. Joe? Yeah, Joe. But Joe lived
because he lived. Right? Because Christ lived,
Joe shall live. and will live in him. Because
Christ died, Job lived. Because Christ arose again, Job
shall arise here with him. Read on. He shall live, and to
him shall be given the gold of Sheba. Job's going to say like
the queen of Sheba. Job's going to be just like the
queen of Sheba. He's going to look at Christ someday and say,
Boy, I heard my preacher preach. But he didn't tell the He tried,
but he failed. The half has never been told.
Now my eye seeeth thee, as ye are, as ye are. Gold of Sheba. Read on. Prayer made continually for him. Daily shall he be prayed for
him. Well, prayer to Him, yes. Prayer by Him, continually, yes. And yes, prayer for Him. Don't
you pray for Him? Do you pray for the Lord Jesus
Christ? We better. That's better be what
the main aspect of our prayer around here. Lord, give glory
to Yourself. Isn't that what we pray? Lord, glorify Your Name. Isn't
that what we pray? We pray for Him, Sherry. You
see? Glorify yourself! Oh, he delights
to answer that prayer. He delights. And he's answered
our prayer in that way. Whenever we can pray in that
fashion, from the heart, he'll answer it. Oh, yes, he'll answer
it. And daily shall he be praised
for it. Verse 16. There shall be a handful of corn
in the earth upon the top of the mountain. A handful of corn. The fruit thereof shall shake
like Lebanon. day of the city flourished like
grass of the earth, a handful of corn on the top of the mountains."
What's this? Well, Christ was crucified on
a mountain. He's like that corn of wheat
that fell in the ground that must die. Christ arose from Mount Olivet. The story of Mount Olivet is
when he gathered a handful of disciples. He just had a handful on that mountain, a handful of
disciples on that mountain. He said, Now, I'm leaving. Go and do all the work. Preach the gospel. And he went
outside. Now, that handful of disciples Do you have a seed spreader,
Henry? Gospel spreader. Grass starts coming up. We see
the fruit of it, like shaking like leaven, all over the world. I'm the fruit of Thomas, the
apostle, going out. I'm the fruit. I'm one of these, one of this
fruit of his going. Read on. Verse 17, His name shall
endure forever. John, I said that this verse
deserves a sermon all by itself, and I'm going to give it less
time than any other. Forgive me. It speaks for itself, doesn't
it? shall endure forever." Let my
name perish, and it will. Just shortly after I die, men
will forget it. Maybe even you'll forget it.
That's fine. Boy, there's only one name worth
remembering anyway. It shall endure forever. Forever. His name shall continue as long
as the sun. Read on. Men shall be blessed
in him. Oh, I am and will be. All nations
shall call him blessed. He'll have a people from every
tribe, kindred, and nation calling him the Blessed One. Blessed
be the Lord God, the God of Israel, the Lord Jesus Christ, God manifest
in the flesh, the God of Israel who only doeth wondrous things. He's the only one who does any
wondrous things. And blessed be his glorious name
forever. Let the whole earth be filled
with his glory. Amen and amen. The prayers of David, son of
Jesse, are ended. Blessed be the name. That would
be a good song to sing, wouldn't it, Joe? Blessed be the name
of the Lord. You probably already got that
picked out. Blessed be the name of the Lord. Sherry, number 32. Joe, come up if you will. Let's
just sing in closing. Verse 1 and verse 4 are outstanding,
all right? Change one word in that first
line, okay? Who gave his son for man to die
that he might men redeem. Gave his son for men to die that
he might men redeem. Got that? First line, first and
last, okay? Stay with me. And he might then redeem us. His name shall be the grandson
of earth, the mighty prince of peace, the ruler's kingdom's
conqueror, whose reign shall never end. Thank you for your visit. Oh, thank you.
