Colossians 1:18

In his sermon titled "Christ the Beginning," Don Bell explores the theological significance of Christ as the preeminent figure in creation and redemption, grounded in Colossians 1:18. He argues that Jesus is both the creator and the firstborn from the dead, establishing Him as the one who initiates spiritual life and resurrection. Key Scripture references include Ephesians 1, John 10, and 1 Corinthians 15, all underscoring Christ's authority over life, death, and sin. Bell emphasizes that because Jesus overcame death, believers are assured of their own resurrection and life, highlighting the doctrinal significance of Christ's role in both cosmic and personal salvation within Reformed theology.

I'd like to read Ephesians chapter 1. Ephesians chapter 1. I've been
studying this. I was trying to pick just an
excerpt, but I couldn't pick a place to stop. So we're going
to read the whole chapter. If we had plenty of time, I would
read chapter 2, but you go home and read chapter 2 with it. Ephesians
chapter 1, Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ, by the will of
God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful
in Christ Jesus, grace to you and peace from God our Father
and the Lord Jesus Christ. Blessed be the God and Father
of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual
blessings in heavenly places in Christ. According, as he hath
chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should
be made, excuse me, that we should be holy and without blame before
him in love. Having predestinated us unto
the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according
to the good pleasure of his will, to the praise of the glory of
his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved, in
whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of
sins, according to the riches of his grace, wherein he hath
abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence, having made known
unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure
which he hath purposed in himself, that in the dispensation of the
fullness of times he might gather together in one all things in
Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth in him,
in whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated
according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after
the counsel of his own will, that we should be to the praise
of his glory, who first trusted in Christ, in whom you also trusted
after that you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your
salvation, in whom also, after that you believed, you were sealed
with that Holy Spirit of promise, which is the earnest of our inheritance
until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of
his glory. Wherefore, I also, after I heard
of your faith in the Lord Jesus and love unto all the saints,
cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in
my prayers, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father
of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation
in the knowledge of him. the eyes of your understanding
being enlightened, that ye may know what is the hope of his
calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance
in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of his power
to usward who believe, according to the working of his mighty
power, which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead,
and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion,
and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also
in that which is to come, and hath put all things under his
feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
which is his body, the fullness of him that filleth all in all. Our most high and heavenly Father,
Lord God Almighty, we come in your perfect, holy, omnipotent,
all-righteous presence this evening through your blessed Son, the
Lord Jesus Christ. We thank you that you have given
us him to come to you through, Lord, to take Take a sinner like me, my vain mumblings, and present them to you. Lord, you know each and one of
our hearts. And we thank you that you know everything there
is to know about us and about this world. about the state we're
in and the state this world is in. Lord, but we also know through
thy mercy and thy grace the state of our souls in Christ. Lord, in honor and glory and
praise be to thy name, I ask that you would enlighten us here
tonight through the gospel, through the preaching of the gospel,
Lord, that you would cause our pastor to proclaim it freely.
that you would speak to our hearts through him tonight, that you
send your spirit to be among us. Bless our time together as
we come together here with the want in our hearts,
Lord, to praise you and to worship you. We ask that you would enable
us to do just that. Let us forget the things of this
world for a little while. Forget the woes and worries of
our hearts, of this flesh. Lord, there are many who are
weak and weary. Those who are frail. This weak rotten flesh, Lord. Ask that you would have mercy
on them as you would see fit, as it would please you. Cause
them to come and worship with us again. Until you call them home, Lord. We ask that thy will be done
for Christ's sake. Amen. In the Beloved, accepted am I,

chapter 1. Going to use another B in dealing with Christ. It says in verse 18, And he is the head of the body,
the church, who is the beginning, that's what I want to talk about,
Christ the beginning, who is the beginning, the firstborn
from the dead, that in all he might have the preeminence. The
Lord Jesus Christ, He calls Him here at the beginning, the firstborn
from the dead. And then it says, Because in
all things that He should have the preeminence. And there's
many beginnings concerning our Lord Jesus Christ. You know,
there was the beginning of His ministry, the beginning of His
miracles. And there was He Himself. THOUGH
HE WAS THE BEGINNING, YET THERE WAS A TIME THAT THERE WAS NOTHING
ELSE BUT HIM. HE WAS THE BEGINNING OF GOD'S
CREATION, AND THAT IT MEANS THIS, THAT EVERYTHING WAS MADE BY HIM.
YOU LOOK DOWN HERE IN VERSE 16, FOR BY HIM WERE ALL THINGS CREATED. SO I TELL YOU WHAT, WHEN YOU
READ IN THE BIBLE IN GENESIS 1-1, IN THE BEGINNING GOD Right
here He's talking about. For by Him were all things created. Everything that's in heaven was
created by Him. So that's the beginning. You
know, we talk about beginning, the beginning of this world and
everything that's in it was created by Him. He created the heavens,
everything in heaven, it says He created it. And that are in
earth. Everything you see in this earth
that's in the earth. He made it. He made it. He created
it. And He says that, whether you
can see them or whether you don't see them. If it's somebody sitting
on the throne, if it's for a dominion, and you know, we go from sea
to shining sea, from the north to the south. And I'll tell you
what, that's the dominion. And He's got, He created and
has dominion over that. Any principalities, any powers,
all things were created by Him and for Him, and not only that,
everything that continues to consist and exist does it by
Him. So He always has the preeminence. Himself, He's called the Beginning.
John 1, 1, In the beginning, in the beginning was the Word. What was the Word? the Lord Jesus
Christ. Everything that was made was
made by Him. So there's so many beginnings
of our Lord, the beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ. And
it says here who He's the beginning of there in verse 18. He's the
beginning, the firstborn from the dead. Now what in the world
does that mean? Firstborn from the dead? There's
been a lot of people been raised from the dead. You know, Elijah saved a young boy that
died. He laid on top of him and life
came back into him. Elisha saved a person and brought
life back to him. The Lord, you know, and the Lord
Jesus Christ raised Lazarus from the dead. And there was a lot
of people raised from the dead, and they saw the saints that
were in the grave when our Lord Jesus Christ raised from the
dead. And so when He talks about the
firstborn from the dead, that means that He was the only one
who ever came from the grave by Himself. And that's just the
beginning. And why He says He's the beginning,
the firstborn from the dead, because If he was the firstborn
from the dead, that means we're gonna be born. We ain't gonna be the first or
second or third or fourth, but because he was the firstborn,
we're gonna have life. We're gonna have life. And I
tell you what, he's the head of the body. That's what he talks
about, being the head of the body. And the body is the church. Now, I tell you, the church is
made up of people. And that's why I've told you
time and again, don't invite folks to come to church, invite
them to come to hear the gospel, or say come hear the preacher,
or don't even say come worship with us, because unbelievers
can't worship. But here He said He's the head of the body and
the church, and the church, He's the beginning of the church.
There would be no church without Christ. There would be no life
for the church without Christ. And we would not have a beginning. There would be no life for individuals. There certainly wouldn't be no
life for the church. And you know, when you look at
a picture, you take a picture and you look at a picture and
everybody does a lot of pictures. And when you look at a picture,
who's the first person you look at in that picture? Yourself. You look for yourself. And you look to see how good
you look. You look at your head. You look at your face. And that's
what we do when we're preaching the gospel. We're looking at
the head. He's the head. We want him to
be seen. We want him to be seen. We want him to be glorified.
And so when we look and preach Christ, he's the head. We're
just a body, and we're just a body. And then that's what he says,
the firstborn from the dead. You know, and I'll tell you what,
not only is he the firstborn from the dead, but he's the first
in the scriptures too. He told his disciples, he said,
beginning at Moses and all the prophets and the Psalms, concerning himself. But now I
want you to look with me in John chapter 10, talking about the
beginning, the firstborn from the dead. John chapter 10, look what he said here at verse 15, As the Father knoweth me, John
10, 15, as the Father knows me, even so know I the Father. And
listen to this, and I lay down my life for the sheep. I know
the Father, and the Father knows me, and he knows what I'm gonna
do. Other sheep which I have, which are not of this fold, them
also I must bring them. I must, I'm not going to beg
them, I'm not going to plead with them, I'm going to bring
them. And they shall hear my voice, and there shall be one
fold and one shepherd. Therefore doeth my Father, listen
to this now, therefore doeth my Father love me, because I
lay down my life, that I might take it again. Listen to this,
no man, no man takes it from me. Pilate didn't take it from
me. Herod didn't take it from me.
The Jews didn't take it from me. The Gentiles didn't take
it from me. I have power to lay it down. I lay it down of myself. I have
the authority. I have the power, the ability,
the might to lay down my life, to die. And then I have, listen
to this, I have the POWER to take it up again. And listen
to this, He said, This commandment have I received of my Father.
So what He's saying was, when I die, I'm going to die when
I WILL to die. Nobody's going to take my pilot
and say, I've got power. He said, You've got no power,
pilot. You got no power. And when they came to get our
Lord Jesus Christ, Mary Kate there, and all those disciples
come to get him, they looked in the tomb and they saw everything
where a body had lain. And there'd been lots of people
raised from the dead. I mean, through the scriptures
there was, but here comes this, they look in there and there
lays his great clothes, just exactly like he was in them.
exactly like he said, the only thing that was moved was the
napkin that was laid over his eyes, and that was laying over
here. He got out of that grave by himself,
by his own power, he rolled that stone away by his own power,
And he appeared to his disciples by his own power. And no wonder,
said he's the firstborn from the dead. He's the first person
that come from the grave by his own power. You and I, when we
come out of the grave and everybody else that comes out of the grave,
we're gonna have to come out by his power. We ain't even got
power over to keep ourselves living. But he had the power,
said I'm gonna lay down my life. And he laid it down. You know
when he died? He said, Father, into thy hands
I commend my spirit. God gave him that command to
do that. They put him in the grave. But he come out by his
own power, by his own, and he had life when he was in the grave,
he had life when he was on the cross, and he had life when he
come out of the grave. And I'll tell you what, as a
man he died, but as God he never did. As God Almighty, as the
Lord Jesus Christ is a man, he come from the dead. And that's
why he's the firstborn. And you know why he's the firstborn?
Cause he got a whole bunch of people. Everybody's gotta be
a firstborn. I was the firstborn in my family. I'm the firstborn
in my family. I'm the firstborn. But that don't
mean diddly. That don't mean nothing. But
when Christ is the firstborn, that means something. Cause he
was dead and then he come back from the dead. He was born as
if he is born from the dead. Come life from the dead. Oh my. He comes from the grave by his
own will and power. Look in Acts chapter two. Look
in Acts chapter two with me. Let me show you something over
here. Here's the beginning. And you
know what he's saying is, Now, here comes something that's never
happened before. Here comes something new. And
with this firstborn from the dead, that means that there's
going to be a new era. There's going to be a new power. There's going to be something
for God's people that's never happened before. You know, our Lord raised three
people from the dead in His ministry, in His life on this earth. Raised
three people from the dead. And that's all, he can only be
the only one, does it? But I'm telling you this, he
come out, he gave himself a life out of that grave. Firstborn,
firstborn. That means, beloved, there's
gonna be the second, the third, and the fourth, and the fifth,
and sixth, and I mean, there's gonna be so many of them that
no man can number them. But look what it said here in
Acts chapter two, in verse 23. That's what our Lord said, this
commandment that I received from my Father. Him, the Lord Jesus
Christ, being delivered by the determinate counsel, will, we
read that not tonight, He read that tonight. The counsel, the
will, the purpose of God. And the foreknowledge of God.
You have taken and by wicked hands have crucified and slain.
You've done just what God foreordained you to do, knew you would do.
Now listen to this, whom God hath raised up, having loosed
the pains of death. Now I love this right here, because
it was not possible that he should be holding of it. It's impossible for death to
hold Christ. If you've got life, how can death
hold you? And that's what he said, you
know, he had a life and he's eternal. HE WAS ETERNAL WHEN
HE CAME HERE, HE WAS ETERNAL WHILE HE WAS HERE, AND GOD GAVE
HIM A BODY TO DIE IN, A BODY TO SUFFER IN, A BODY TO GO TO
THE GRAVE IN, BUT HE ALSO GAVE HIM IN THAT BODY THE POWER, THE
ABILITY, THE RIGHT, THE AUTHORITY TO DO WHAT HE WILL WITH HIS OWN
LIFE WHEN HE LAID IT DOWN AND TOOK IT UP AGAIN. AND HE SAID,
BECAUSE I LIVE, YOU SHALL LIVE ALSO. And I'll tell you what,
our Lord Jesus Christ being raised and firstborn from the dead tells
us this, He solved a problem that no one else could solve
but Him. You know, when He died and He
come from the dead and He was firstborn from the dead, that
proves and tells us that He solved a problem that nobody else could
do. And you know what that problem was? Sin. sin, S-I-N, and not
only did He solve the problem, but also the problem of its punishment. The soul that sinneth it shall
die. And then our Lord Jesus Christ, He went under the wrath
of God, the judgment of God, the punishment of God, and when
God was satisfied with what He had done when He entered into
the holy place with His own blood and put it on the altar in glory
in the presence of His Father, And I tell you what, all the
punishment for sin was over and done with once and for all. And
you know how we know? He's firstborn from the dead. Now I want you to look with me
over in 1 Corinthians. Let me just give you a couple
of things on his. 1 Corinthians 15. You know, the BEGINNING! Our
Lord Jesus Christ, the BEGINNING! Oh, my! He's the BEGINNING of
our life! He's the BEGINNING of our SPIRITUAL
LIFE! He's the BEGINNING of giving
us UNDERSTANDING! He is the ONE that delivered
us from the POWER of DARKNESS and TRANSLATED us! Now, look what it says, here
in 1 Corinthians 15 and verse 20. But now is Christ risen from
the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. What a new
world. And for since by man came death,
by man also came the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all
died, that's a fact, all of us died in Adam. So all those that
are in Christ shall be made alive. But listen to this, But every
man in his own order, Christ the firstfruits, afterwards they
that are Christed is coming. Now it mentioned Him being the
firstfruits, the firstfruits. What does the firstfruits mean? They ALWAYS had to bring the
firstfruits, EVERYTHING under the law, they'd always have to
bring the firstfruits. They brought the firstfruit of
the corn, they brought the firstfruit of the barley, they brought the
firstfruit of the olive oil, they brought the firstfruit of
EVERYTHING that they had. They brought the firstfruits,
and they gave it to the priests. They brought the firstfruits,
and that meant that there was going to be a good harvest. If
you brought the firstfruit, that means there's a harvest to come.
and they just brought the firstfruits. So Christ is the firstfruits.
And guess what? We're the harvest at. You reckon He's gonna have a
harvest? He's the firstfruit of who? Them that slept. You
know why He says those that slept? Those that are sleeping Jesus
will God bring with Him. And when sleep means that you're
tired, you're resting, you're not conscious of what's going
on around you, and you're wore out, you're weary, and so you
go to sleep. And that's what He said. He said,
all you're doing is resting in sleep until I come and get you. I'm the first fruits. I tell
you what, when I went up there, the first one's gone. And I went
into the presence of God by myself. And I tell you, he went up there
with his firstfruits. He went up there with all the
firstfruits. And I tell you what, it's gonna
be, as we all died in Adam, he said, you know what? We're gonna
be made alive in Christ. How do we know? He's the firstfruits.
And if he's the firstfruits, you reckon the rest of us get
to go? I talked here a couple weeks ago about Christ our priest,
high priest, is our forerunner for us. He entered our forerunners
behind the veil. And a forerunner is somebody
that went in front of you. They did that in armies, and
I tell you what, they even do it now. If the president goes
somewhere, they go way ahead of him and prepare for his coming. And that's the way our Lord Jesus
Christ, and He is our forerunner, went way ahead of us, prepared
us for coming, telling everybody in glory, said, oh, listen, the
Just Miss Made Perfect, I got a whole bunch coming after me.
There's a fella, I gave him a new name. His name on earth is Donnie
Bell, but I gave him a new name. And I tell you what, I'll let
him know what it is one of these days. You were gonna have a new name.
Wonder what my name will be. I know one thing. He said he gave us all a new
name. But oh, listen, he just, and look what it goes on to say.
Christ is the first fruits of them that slept. But look at
what it says, and as in Christ shall all be made alive. But
every man in his own order, everything has to be in order. Christ the
firstfruits, afterward, they that are Christ's,
and He's coming. So He's the firstfruits, He's
got to come back and get the harvest. He's got to come back
and get all of His people. Gotta come back and get all of
his people. And look what it says here in verse 25. For he must reign. I remember
I really got in trouble in a fundamentalist church preaching this. They always
talk about he's gonna come and reign. But here it said he must
reign. Until he hath put all enemies
under his foot. God said he'd make them his footstool.
And you know the last enemy that shall be destroyed is death. Death. Death. He's already destroyed it. You
know how he destroyed death? By dying. You know how he proved
that there's a resurrection from the dead? He's the firstborn
from the dead. And look what else it says down here now. Oh
my, he conquered death and he conquered the cause of death,
which was sin. Now look down here in verse 49
with me. As we have borne the image of
the earthly, that's Adam, that is in this flesh dwelleth no
good thing. And listen to this, we by the
image of the earthly, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. Christ bear his image. You know, say we'll see him face
to face and as he is, as he is, so shall we be. We'll see him
as he is and we'll be made like him. But he says, now, now this
I say, brethren, flesh and blood cannot enter the kingdom of God.
Oh my, no. Neither doeth corruption inherit
corruption. Oh my, we know how corrupt we
are. But corruption can't inherit incorruption. If you're corrupt,
you don't become incorrupt. You can't get rid of your corruption,
you can't get rid of your rottenness. But oh my, but look what he says,
but I'll tell you what, I'm gonna show you a mystery. Listen to
me now, I'm gonna show you a mystery. Paul said, I'm gonna show you
a mystery. You know a mystery is something that was hidden
and somebody comes along and tells you. It's like somebody
knows a secret. I'm going to tell you a secret.
Well, that's what Paul said here. I'm going to let you all know
something that you may not have known. Behold, I show you a mystery.
We shall not all sleep. We're not, you know, we're not
all going to go to the grave. But he says this, we shall all
be changed. Changed. Oh, we're going to be
changed from our bodies and fashioned like unto his glorious body.
And this, how long is this going to take? How in the world, how
long is this going to take since Christ first born from the dead
in a moment? We know say, give me a minute,
give me a minute. And then you are minutes turns
into two, three, four, five or 10. But when God says in a moment,
that means when God says a moment, that's a moment. Give me a moment. Oh my. But in a moment, in the moment,
in the twinkling of an eye. Y'all can't see my eyes twinkling,
can you? I can't see yours either. Even with my glasses on, I can't
see your eyes twinkle. But you know, in the twinkling
of an eye, the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump. You remember those trumpets in
Revelation? He said, there was that one last
trumpet, one last trumpet, that seventh trumpet. For at the trump,
for the trumpet shall sound. You know, when they was going
around Jericho, they went around it once a day and marched around
it. And the seventh day, they went
around seven times seven times, and then those fellas went to
blowin' their trumpets, and the walls come down, and our Lord
Jesus Christ, I don't know who's gonna blow the trumpet, but somebody's
gonna blow a trumpet that everything in this world and everything
that's in the ground, everybody that's ever existed at any time
on this earth, they gonna hear this trumpet! And the trumpet
shall sound, And that trumpet is so loud,
it even raises the dead. Oh, we're going to go out here
pretty soon. We're going to decorate our loved
one's graves. People we know that graves, but
look what it says. The dead shall be raised, and
I love this, incorruptible. They was buried in corruption,
but now they're gonna be raised incorruptible. Ain't gonna be
a thing in the world wrong with them. Steve was talking about,
said, oh my, I said, get up in these old bodies. He said, this
old body just gets weak. It's failing us. I mean, it is
failing us. I had to take something from
my back today. But listen to this. But we was
raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. Oh, changed. People say, well, we're going
through changes. Well, here you're gonna really go through a change
right here. It's gonna be some kind of a change. For this corruptible,
this right here, MUST, MUST, God said MUST put on incorruptible. And this mortal, this mortal
man who has a time, a space of mortal people must put on what? Immortality, immortality. You know our Lord Jesus Christ
is said in Colossians, it says there that He brought life and
immortality to light through the gospel. He brought life and
immortality for us to see through the gospel. And look what He
goes on to say there. So when this corruptible shall
have put on corruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality,
Then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, death
is swallowed up in victory. How in the world can death be
swallowed up in victory? Christ was the first born from
the dead, victorious over the grave. And oh my, no wonder,
no wonder. And I'll tell you what, I'm gonna
use this, I think the next funeral I'll have, I'm gonna use this
right here. I'm gonna use these verses right here, next funeral
I have. I hope I don't have one for a long time. But look what
I said, oh, death, where's your sting? You know, these bees and
stuff get around us and, oh, get away, don't sting me, don't
sting me. And I'll tell you what, that's why he said, oh, death,
where's your sting? Where's that sting at that pierces
you? It pierces your mind and your
heart and your soul and you're afraid of it. Where's it at?
And, oh, grave, where is your victory? Listen to this. The sting of death is sin. So,
oh, death, where is your sting? And the strength of sin is the
law. Well, Christ fulfilled the law in our room instead. He died
in our place, so the sting of death is gone with Him, and the
strength of sin is gone with Him. And listen to this. Listen
to this. I love this right here. But thanks
be unto God, which always gives us the victory. Always gives
us the victory. Victory over what? Corruption? Mortality? Death? Sin? Life? He gives us the victory
through our Lord Jesus Christ. And he conquered the grave, he
conquered the grave. You know, that's why I don't,
there's people that go and they visit graves and stay at them
and just sit at them. But every believer that's in
a grave, every believer that's in a grave, every single one
of them, ain't got nothing but a body there. And God, one of
these days, is gonna open them graves I had them old black folks
used to sing, there ain't no grave gonna hold my body down.
There ain't no grave gonna hold my body down. And that's the
truth. There ain't a grave, they know
when they buy these big old boxes, you know, to put their grave
in, vaults, there ain't no vault gonna hold them down. Why, because
our Lord Jesus Christ, the firstborn from the dead, and that means,
beloved, he brought life with him out of the grave, and that
means that when we go to the grave, life is in him, and we're
gonna, we already got life, we're just waiting to enjoy it when
we get in glory. Huh? I enjoy it here, but I tell
you what, I'm gonna really enjoy it there. I enjoy it pretty good
here, don't you? I really do. Oh, He's the firstborn
from the dead. He's the beginning. You know
where life begins? With Christ. You know where life from the
dead comes from? Christ. You know where life comes from
the grave? Christ. You know where eternity exists?
With Christ. No wonder He said, Christ is
all and in all. Blessed be his holy name. I tell
you, when you all carry me or I carry you out, one of these
days I'll be able to say, oh, Patsy Kaskin said, I'll see you
in glory. I'll see you in glory. I'll see
you later. Floyd used to say, I'll see you
in the morning. And that's what it'll be. It'll
be in the morning, a brand new day, a never ending day. Oh, bless
the Lord's name. Oh, Father, Father, Father, our
Lord Jesus Christ, thank you for your great abundant mercy
given us. Thank you for the blessed hope
you give us in Christ. Thank you for the Lord Jesus
Christ being the beginning. He's the beginning of our life.
He's the beginning of creation. He's the beginning of the firstborn
from the dead. Proving that all of us shall
rise again someday. Blessed be your holy name. Bring
glory to yourself through us. And Lord, we're so thankful.
So thankful. Bless every heart, every home.
And those that are not with us today, God bless them. Give them
abundance of grace. Give them abundance of mercy.
And we ask these things in Christ's name. Amen. Amen. 497. I know this one. Let's stand up and sing this
together, 497. Let's stand up and sing this together, 497.
Ain't that victory in Jesus? Yep. Stand together. ? Glory of a Savior came from glory
? How He gave His life on Calvary to save 496, 496, 496, I'm sorry.
? I took about His groaning ? Of His precious blood's atoning
? Then I repented of my sins ? And won the victory ? Oh, victory
in Jesus ? My Savior forever ? He bought me and He brought
me ? With His redeeming blood ? He loved me, yeah, I knew Him
? And all my love is due Him ? He plunged me ? To victory
beneath the cleansing flood ? I heard about His healing ? Of his cleansing
power revealing ? How he made the lame to walk again ? And
made the blind to see ? And then I cried, dear Jesus Come and
heal my broken spirit. And somehow Jesus came and brought
to me the victory. Amen. Yes. Forever He sought me And He bought
me With His redeeming blood He loved me ere I knew Him And all
my love is due Him He plunged me to victory Beneath the cleansing
blood I heard about a mansion He has built for me in glory
And I heard about the streets of gold Beyond the crystal sea
? About the old angels singing
? ? And the old redemption story ? ? And some sweet day I'll sing
up there ? ? The song of victory ? ? Oh, victory ? ? My Savior forever ? He sought
me and He bought me ? With His redeeming blood ? He loved me
and I knew Him ? And all my love is due Him ? He plunged me to
victory ? Beneath the cleansing flood And bless His holy name,
amen. Good night and God bless you
and I'll see you Wednesday, Lord willing.
