on this, you know, talking about
the sovereignty of God. Last week, I had the sovereignty
of the Father in salvation. Tonight, I want to talk about
the sovereignty of the Son in salvation. When we talk about
the sovereignty, we're talking about the one who has all the
power and the rights in salvation, that it is vested in the Father
and vested in the Son, that only when we say the sovereignty of
the Son in salvation, that the that the Son himself has all
power and authority given unto him in heaven and earth. And
look what it says here in John 17, 1 and 2. These words spake
Jesus and lifted up his eyes to heaven and said, Father, thy
hour is come. Glorify thy Son, that thy Son
also may glorify thee. Now listen to it. As thou hast
given him power over all flesh, that He should give eternal life
to as many as Thy has given Him." Now, there it is in one verse
of Scripture. The sovereignty of the Son in salvation. The
Father gave the Son power over all flesh. That's over every
man, woman, child born on the earth. But that He should give
eternal life to how many? As many as God gave Him. God gave Him. Now, I tell you,
beloved, a man must see that the Son, the Son of God, the
Lord Jesus Christ, is co-equal with the Father, co-eternal with
the Father, that He Himself is none other than God manifested
in the flesh, that God is the Spirit. No man's ever seen God
at any time. And when Moses asked to see him,
he said, you can only see my hand apart. And he had to put
him in a cleft of a rock, put his hand over him, or he couldn't
have stood it. And anyway, the invisible God,
the God that no man's ever seen, came visible and came into this
world and assumed human flesh and assumed human nature. And
he was God still. And he came into this world so
that God, who is invisible, might be made visible. that God who
saves sinners might be seen, and how God can do it justly
and still honor Hisself and save sinners. Now, I tell you, beloved,
two lies have been told to men for generations and generations.
The first lie is that God loves everybody, and the second lie
is that Christ died for everybody. But the Scriptures teach us,
for whom did Christ die? Let me ask you that question.
For whom did Christ die? God has an express purpose in
giving him to die. That's what our Lord says, the
hour has now come. He says there in verse 4, he
said, I've glorified thee on the earth, I've finished the
work that you gave me to do. God had an express purpose in
giving him to die. Christ came into this world and
God gave him an express purpose for him to die. The Son had a
definite design in laying down his life. He had a definite design
in it. He wasn't gambling to see who
he could win. No. Known unto God are all his
works from the creation. Now, I'll tell you something.
His death, our Lord Jesus' death, was limited in the design that
God purposed for it to do. And who did Christ die for? Well,
I'll tell you why. He had an absolute determination
before Him when He went to the cross. Before he went to that
cross, he had an absolute determination before him. He said his faith
has to go to Jerusalem. And his purpose must be done,
must be fulfilled, if he determines something in that death. Whatever,
when he went to that cross, determined to do. Whatever that death, when
he went to that cross and was determined to accomplish, then
that determination was fulfilled, or it wasn't. And was his death a conditional
provision for all men's salvation? Is that all it done? It just
made a condition and opened the door and enabled men to go through
this provision and use this provision if they choose to use the provision
that Christ fought for? We heard a woman say today, and
of course, you know, these women preachers, there ain't hardly
a good man preacher around, but these women preachers, that's
something else. One woman said, Oh, if you could just See that
light of God in you if you just had the opportunity to see how
great that light of God is already in you if you just know how to
access it. Like He's born with the light
of God in you. But then why did Christ come to die if we're like
that? If we've got any ability in ourselves, why did Christ
die? If Christ had just come by the Lord, why did Christ die?
And if He just made salvation possible, who in the world could
be saved? I say, no, He didn't make just
a conditional provision for men's salvation. No, and I'll tell
you why. Because God made Him some promises,
made the Son of God, His blessed Son, some promises before He
went to that cross. Before He ever became a man,
before He ever came into this world, the Father made Him some
promises. gave, promised him a reward for
his sufferings, promised him the heathen for his inheritance,
promised that on behalf of the sufferings for his people, his
sinners, that God would be satisfied when he saw the travail of his
soul and would be pleased with him and satisfied with him, and
that he would justify many. God made him that promises. And
I say, beloved, if his death was just a provision for everyone,
Let me tell you something, that means he's not all wise. That
means his death was ineffectual. If it was just a provision for
every woman, and all you've got to do is avail yourself of that
provision, then God's not all wise and his death was ineffectual. Because how in the world do you
make this provision? When are you going to take the
provision that God provided for you? I read a story the other day,
a true story. I wish I could remember the man's name. But
he was a meeting over in England years, hundreds of years, three,
four hundred years ago, two hundred, couple hundred years ago. And
they had a big meeting and he was tearing everything down outside.
This young man come running up to him and called him by his
name and said, I want to be saved. I want to be saved. What do I
need to do to be saved? I want to be saved. I need to
be saved. What do I need to do to be saved? He says, son, you're
too late. He said, I'm too late for the meeting, I'm too late
to be saved. He says, no, you're too late to do anything about
it. Christ done it 2,000 years ago. That's what I mean, you're too
late to do anything about it. Christ did it. That's what I'm
telling you. And if He made just a provision,
oh, nobody would ever be saved. And I say, beloved, our Lord
Jesus Christ did not die to make salvation possible for all men.
But he died to make salvation certain for those that the Father
gave him, that he has power over all flesh to give eternal life
to as many as God has given him. Now, I say, beloved, our Lord
Jesus Christ died for the elect and the elect only, and that's
certain, because of the Father's eternal choice of certain ones
to salvation. God just chose a certain people
to salvation, and Christ's only going to die for those people.
That's why the Lord said, as I read in Hebrews 10 tonight,
Lo, I come to do thy will. O God, I come to do thy will,
I do thy will. What was the will of God? Look
over here in John 6, verse 37 with me just a moment, and I'll
show you what it is. He came to do the will and said,
Lord, I come to do the will. I came down from heaven not to
do my will, but thine. Look what he said in John 6,
verse 37. All that the Father giveth me
shall come to me. And him that cometh to me, I
will in no wise cast out. Now listen to it. I come down
to do thy will, for I came down from heaven, not to do mine will,
but the will of him that sent me. And this is the Father's
will, which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me
I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last
day. So you see, he gave him a particular
will. This will was come to do that people for his whom the
Father gave him. And Christ's will and the Father's
will were in perfect agreement. Look here in John 17. Let's just
go down through here with me just a moment. It said there
in John 17, verse 2, as Thou has given him power, that word
power means authority, and then also power, effectual power,
having the strength to save sinners, having the ability to save sinners,
that he should give eternal life as to many as Thou has given
him. Look down in verse 6, talking about giving to him. I have manifested
by name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world. They
were yours, but you gave them to me. And I've kept them, and
they've kept your word. Look what he said about them
down in verse 9. I pray for the old. I'm not praying for the
world. We need to pray for the world. We need to go win the
world for Jesus. Our Lord Jesus didn't pray for the world. I
pray for them, I pray not for the world, but for them which
thou hast given me. For you, Lord, they belong to
you. Look down at verse 24. Father, I will that they also
whom thou hast given me, I'm talking about that people given
to Christ, be with me where I am that they may behold my glory.
And so you see all these things that Christ had a people given
to Him. So He came to give His life and to die for those people,
those elect, those given to the Father. Now the death and resurrection
of our Lord Jesus Christ, when He came to do that was carrying
out the will of God. And His purpose to save those
given to Him by God's eternal purpose. Now listen to me, the
Gospel is not good news for anyone except for those whom Christ
died for. It's not no good news to anybody
except for those who Christ died for. It's not good news to tell
salvation's possible. It's not good news to say salvation's
got a door open if you're willing to go through it. It's not good
news to say sinners saved himself. It's not good news with, you
know, Jesus got his heart open, would you just let his heart
cover you up? That's not good news. That's not good news to say Jesus
died for everybody and people go to hell for whom Christ died.
There's no good news in that. Let me tell you the nature of
the atonement. The nature of the atonement. Christ's death
on that cross, as it applied to sinners, shows that it was
limited in the purpose of God. People tell us all the time,
they say, I don't like the way you all limit the death of Christ.
We didn't limit it, God did. It wasn't us who limited atonement.
It was God who limited atonement. It wasn't us who decided who
Christ would die for and who Christ would die for. God did
that. God made the choice. God made the will. God made the
purpose. And Christ came. He said, you've
given me power. You did it. And I'm going to
carry out your will and I'm going to give eternal life to who?
Those you've given me. And those you didn't give it
to me, they ain't going to get it. Ain't that right? This time somebody
gets upset with what he says about that, says, oh, you don't
believe in Christ? No, God said that. This is what
God does. This is God's doing. This is
God's business. Now listen to me. The death and
atonement of the Lord Jesus, we look at it from two viewpoints.
Two viewpoints. The death of Christ. First of
all, you've got to view it Godward. When we look at Christ dying
on the cross, offering himself on the cross, we look at it first
as a propitiation. And a propitiation is a sacrifice
that appeased and satisfied the wrath of God. It satisfied justice
of God. It satisfied and upheld the holiness
of God. God had to first be satisfied
and honored before he could ever make one kind of a move towards
us. It's his, the death of Christ was toward God first. Men gotta
understand that. God himself must be, the law
must be honored and magnified. God's justice must be satisfied.
God's wrath must be consumed. And wherever sin's at, wherever
it's at, then God finds sin. He's going to inflict the curse
of that sin, the punishment of that sin, which is death. And
when Christ was found with sin on Him, and the wrath of God
fell on Him, and the justice of God pierced His heart, He
satisfied both of them. Because God inflicted the penalty
of death on Him, which was death. And then there, secondly, look
to view it towards man. When we view it toward what the
death of Christ was for us, it was a substitution. It was a
substitution. That Christ stood in the room
instead of the people that were given to Him. Those that were
given to Him. And let me tell you, His substitution
was voluntary. Nobody made Him do it. Nobody
made Him do it. He'd come, His wife said, Lord,
I'd be like to do Thy will. I come here to bless your holy
name. I come here for the joy," he
said before he endured the cross. He said, I do always the things
of faith. His whole purpose in life was
to satisfy and honor his Father. And so he voluntarily took our
place. And I'll tell you something,
God accepted his substitution. And I'll tell you, when he accepted
Christ as my substitute and your substitute, than those for whom
Christ died for as a substitute, then they cannot be held liable
for anything they ever done if Christ was their substitute.
Now, is that right? If God punished him for sin,
then he can't punish me for sin. Because he bore my sin in his
own body. And that's what I'm talking about.
Now, he didn't do that for everybody. That's the best news I've ever
heard in my life. That there was One who actually
bore my sin. And that He bore my wrath. That
He died in my place. That God made Him to be sin.
And beloved, when He was there on that cross, He satisfied God
so that God could come down and save me. And save me legally. Save me justly. Save me righteously. Do you see what I'm talking about?
God ain't covered up my sin. I don't cover up my sin. We don't
make no justification for anything we say or do. We're legally gone. We're legally free. We are free
from judgment and condemnation because Christ bore our sin.
Oh my, that's why He said, look over here in John 18, 18. I think John 18, eight, excuse
me, not 18, 18, John 18, eight. You know, they he asked them
there when they came out to get him in the garden. He asked him
in verse seven, who seek you? And they said, Jesus. And that
he said, I told you that I am. If therefore you seek me, let
these go their way. You can't have me in your boat.
Let them go their way. Oh, bless His name. I'll tell
you. The Lord Jesus, Matthew 20, 28 says, The Lord Jesus gave
His life a ransom, a redemption for many. Well, now, a ransom,
price has been set. You're going to have to pay it
if they're going to get to go free. But who was this ransom offered
for? Was it offered for every man? I'll tell you something,
if it was offered for every man, then the debt of every man's
been kept? If Christ bore the sins of all men, not one soul
on the face of this earth would ever perish. It would be impossible
for one to perish from whom Christ died. And that's why free will,
worse religion, cannot get it because I tell you that if you
understand the death of Christ and who it was that died, the
virtue of His blood, the power of this person, the glory of
this man, that if Christ died for every man, then every man
must be saved. They must be! And if He put death
and sin away, they must be! There's no way in the world God
will send a man to hell for whom Christ died. And if He died for
every man, then every man will be saved. But we know that's not so. And I tell you what, beloved,
that's what you call double jeopardy. You can't be tried for the same
crime twice. And that's what our Lord Jesus
Christ said. He said, I go away and where I go, you can't go.
And said, if you're going to die in your sins, he told some
people to go die in their sins. He told some men, he said, if
you said, well, I'm blind, you'd be able to see me. Because you
say I see, then your sins are going to stay with you all the
way to the judgment. And I tell you, that's why he
said to a bunch of them, depart from me, you cursed. Men, oh
my soul, if we could get people to understand that Christ Himself,
that He's got the power, He's got the authority, and what He
set out to do, He accomplished. And men, oh, there's so pride
that I'm a good person and that I'm just waiting for God to give
me my chance. I'm just waiting for God to give
me my opportunity. I just need to cooperate with
Him. If men could understand that Christ That Christ has got
the power over life. That Christ gives life. And that
He doesn't give it to everybody. Then maybe somebody would stand
up and pay attention. You reckon He died for me? Everybody
already assumes that He died for them. Everybody already assumes
that He loves them. Everybody already assumes that
salvation is going to be theirs one of these days. Is that not
right? But I tell you what, we're not
saved by assumption or presumption, we're saved by Christ. And to
say that our Lord Jesus suffered and bore the curse of the whole
human race is to say He bore it for those who are now bearing
the curse for themselves. To say He was punished for those
who are now bearing their own punishment? That couldn't possibly
be. But all the scriptures tells
us, in Isaiah 53, that Christ was stricken for the transgressions
of who? My people. Fellow and I have
told you this before. I've been asked so many times,
why do you always talk about God's people and what Christ
did for God's people, and He only died for a certain people?
Because that's what God says. He was stricken for the transgressions
of my people. The Lord laid on him the iniquity
of his elect, and called his elect his vessels of mercy, his
people. The Lord Jesus Christ shall call
his name Jesus, for he shall save," who? His people. Oh, boy, people talk about, boy,
my people. I like to go around to my people. And I enjoy my people. And they talk about their families.
My people, this is my people. Well, now listen, I'm going to
be one of God's people. God's people, who's ever among
them? And oh, beloved, I tell you what He did. Our Lord was
stricken for the transgression of His people. He gave His life
for the sheep. His life for ransom for many.
And so he made an atonement that actually atones. He paid a price
which actually redeems in ransom sinners out from under the justice
of God. He is a Savior who really and
actually saves. Tim James said one time, he says,
his very title tells us what he does. And the very fact that
he don't say, he said, Thou shalt call His name Jesus, for He shall
save you. And He is called the Savior.
So if He's the Savior, that means He's going to save some. He's
going to save those that was given to Him. His very name tells
us what He's going to do. He's going to really save somebody. And I tell you, look in Hebrews
9 with me. Our Lord's priesthood. And He has a priesthood. Hebrews
9. He is made a high priest forever
after the order of Melchizedek. Our Lord's priesthood confirms
what I've said. You know, when the high priest
interceded for Israel, and Boiler said, who did he intercede for?
Whose names did he bear? He only bore a particular people.
He only bore Israels. He didn't buy the heathens. He
didn't buy the Hittites, the Amalekites, the Jebusites. He didn't marry any of them other
wives. He only bore the names and sins
of Israel. And when Christ came, beloved,
He only interceded for His people. Look at Hebrews 9.24. For Christ is not entered into
the holy places which are made with hands. Those were just typical
of the true tabernacle in heaven. But into heaven itself now and
to appear in the presence of God for us." The presence of
God! Huh? Hebrews 7.25, look at this. It says in verse 24, This man,
because he continues there, has an unchangeable feast. It ain't
going to go from one to another. This is it. Last priest. And
first such a high priest became us that it was necessary for
us, needful for us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, severed
from sinners, made higher than the heavens. And he is able To
save, verse 25, able to save to the uttermost them that come
unto God by him. Listen to it. See if he ever
leaves. To do what? Make intercession
for him. Make intercession for him. And
I'll tell you, beloved, if he only sinned or ceased for the
elect only, then he only died for them. Who shall lay anything
to the charge of God's elect whose Christ had died? Who is
he they condemn it? It's God who justifies it. And
I got one other little point. I tell you this. I love to talk
about the power of Christ and what He actually accomplished.
I do. I do. My eternal hope and peace
rest on this right here. Did Christ die for my sin? Then if He did, then I'll never
have to face Him again. Did Christ bear my curse? Then there's no condemnation
to them that are in Christ. Did Christ suffer death for my
sin? Then I'll never die for my sin.
That's why he says you'll never taste death. Death is facing
sin. And we'll never taste death because
we'll never have to face our sins. Never have to face them. And when he took them away, they're
gone. What a wonderful, what a blessed thing to think of.
You think about it. I mean, you just think about
what we are right now. Right this minute, if God judged us and just made
salvation possible for us and all of us sitting here tonight,
how many of us would be saved? If we had to do something in
order to satisfy God, who would be saved? I know I would. I went that route one time. I
went that route. I went that route trying to please
God. I went that route trying to satisfy God. I went that route
trying to save myself. I went that route trying to live
a holy life. I went that route of separation
from the world. I went that route of anything
that you can do to try to get on the good side of God. I tried
it. And you know what it amounted to?
All it done kept my own soul in eternal. But when I understood
that Christ had power over all flesh, and that He should give
eternal life to as many as the Father had given Him, and I found
out that Christ had elect people, and that those were called His
sheep, called His people, called His elect, and that He asked
to accomplish salvation for them, and that God would never come
back to them ever again, my soul went to rest that day, and it
ain't never been in turmoil again. They've never been in turmoil
again. I found out who satisfied him. He shall see the travail
of his soul and shall be satisfied. I found out who bore my sin. Christ bore it in his own body
on the tree. I found out where the wrath of
God went. It went on the head of his elect
son, his blessed son. I found out where the justice
of God was satisfied. It was satisfied in the plunging
into the heart of the Son of God. And if it was done in Him,
then it can't possibly be done in me. Because it was done in
me. It was done in my substitute. And all the power, the power
of our Lord Jesus Christ, listen to me, determines the benefits
of His death. He said He's got all power, didn't
He? He said He's got all authority. He's got all the strength. He's
got all the ability. And let me tell you something,
as God, He is able to perform what He promised. Is God able
to do what He promised? When Christ was God manifesting
in the flesh, He's able to do what He purposed. He's able to
perform what He purposed. And what did He purpose? Purchase? If He purchased somebody, you
reckon He can possess him? I went through some things this
morning. Half the time the Lord stopped.
He stopped under that tree and called Zacchaeus down. He stopped
at that well to get that one sheep. He stopped. Wherever Christ
stops at, He's going after one of His sheep. When that woman touched Him with
this sheep, He stopped. Our Lord Jesus Christ, I'm telling
you, beloved, He's going to have who He purchased. He's going
to have them. He's going to have them. And
who he said he's hard on, he'll have. You know why? Because he's
got the power to do it. He's got the power to do it.
He's got the ability to do it. Look in Matthew 28, 18. This
right here, this answers it all for us. Matthew 18, 28, 18. This
is the long and the short. It says there in verse 16, the
disciples, the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into
the mountains where Jesus had appointed them. He told them
to go there and he'd see them there. And when they saw him,
they worshipped him, the son doubting. And listen to what
our Lord said. And Jesus came and spake unto them, his disciples,
saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. You reckon they doubted for one
minute that he didn't have the authority or the ability, the
power to carry out his will and his purpose? They never ever
doubted. That's why they stood up and
preached. And I ask you this, who can successfully resist the
will of Christ? Huh? Who can successfully resist
the will of Christ? He overcomes his own who are
against him. In the day of His power, His
people are made willing. The power of God, I'm telling
you, if you know as well as I do, the power of God must be brought
to bear upon any sinner that's saved. He's got to bring the
power of God on him. Ain't that right? In John 6.44,
look at this. He must bring the power, to bear
the power of God on the sinner. Man told me the other day that
he didn't want just to share religion, just didn't want religion,
just didn't want to be in church for going to church. He said
he wanted Christ in his heart. I said, that's what you need.
That's exactly what you need. And then I walked away and left
him alone. I wasn't going to talk him into anything. Man says
he needs Christ in his heart. God's doing something to that
man. And I tell you, if he is one for whom Christ died, he'll
have that heart. You'll go in that heart, and
Christ will be in his hope of glory in that heart. And that's
what I told him, I said, well, Christ in you, that's the hope
of glory. And you're right, that's where you need him. And I'll
tell you what, look what he said here in John 6, verse 44. No man can come to me except
the Father which sent me drawing. Oh my, how's the Father drawing?
Christ said, if I be lifted up, I'll draw all men unto me. That word drawing means, blessed is the man whom thou
choosest and causes to approach unto thee. Say, God won't make
me come against you. If he don't make you come against
your will, you ain't coming. He gotta make you willing. And
I'll tell you what, once he makes you willing, that'll mean the
most blessed day of your life, the day that he makes you willing.
And you know what, once he makes you willing, you're willing from
then on. And look what he says, and then I'll raise him up at
the last day. It is written in the Prophets. Now listen to it.
They shall be all taught of God. Who's the all? All that the Father
gave to me. All that were thine, that you
gave to me. And every man therefore that hath heard and hath learned
of the Father, he comes unto me. God's going to bring you. God's going to teach you. He's
going to bring you His blessed Son. And so, you see, it's not
a question of whether the sinner's willing or not, but the question
is, is Christ willing? Is Christ willing to have you?
Is Christ willing? That's the thing, is Christ willing?
If He's willing to have you, He's going to have you. He's
going to have you. And here's come down to the last thing.
And here's where people, the rubber hits the road. This is
why people have trouble with the death of Christ. The issue
is about the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ. If He is God, and
He came here to accomplish the Father's will, if He is deity,
if He is God, then that means He's got the power. It means
He's got the authority. That means He's got the right.
He's got the purpose. He's got the will to save His people. And a defeated Savior cannot
be God. A defeated Savior. And you hear
people say all the time, Well, I was once saved. I was once
saved. I was once saved. Let me tell you something. Let's close out with John 10,
22. Our Lord Jesus Christ said that He laid down His life for
His sheep. That He To sanctify his people, he sanctified
himself. That means he set himself apart
on the cross in order to sanctify his people. He asked his disciples
once. They said, they said, can we be, Lord, can we sit on your
right hand or your left? John and James did. And he said,
it's not mine to give, but he said, Are you able to be baptized
with the baptism that I'm baptized with?" And they said, yes, we're
able. And he said, indeed, you will be. Now, what that means
is that when whatever that baptism, that baptism into suffering,
that baptism into the wrath of God and the justice of God, that
baptism into all that was concerned of our Lord down on the cross.
I tell you why. Every single one of us was put
into that. Every single one of us with whom
Christ died was baptized into that. We suffered with Him. You
able to suffer with me? They said we are. And indeed
we were. Because He made us that way.
Made us that way. Look in John 10, 22. And I'm
done. And it was at Jerusalem, the
Feast of the Dedication, and it was winter. And Jesus walked
in the temple in Solomon's Forge. Then came the Jews, and they
gathered around him, round about him. You imagine the Lord sitting
there, standing there, and then all of a sudden, a whole big
bunch of folks just start gathering around you. You know, you just
start, you just start, imagine, you, you are, you're there, and
then all of a sudden, a bunch of folks just start, a big crowd
gathers around you. Start coming around you. Start
pressing around you. And the Jews round about him
and said unto him, How long do you make us to doubt? If you
be the Christ, just come right out and say it. Just tell us
plainly. Our Lord answered them, I told
you, I told you, and I told you, and I told you. And you know
what? You don't believe it. You do
not believe it. The works that I do in my Father's
name, they bear witness of me. But he says, you believe not.
And I'm going to tell you why you don't believe. Because you're
not of my sheep, as I said unto you. Now listen to what he said
next. My sheep. Hear my voice. Shut
your ass and get out of that tree. Woman, go call your husband. I ain't got one. Son, get up out of that casket. Bring down a marshal. Lord of
men is over here to me. I'm telling you, that's my sheep
hear my voice and listen to this. I know them. I know them. And they follow me. And I give,
I give unto them eternal life. And they shall never perish,
neither shall any pluck them out of my hand. My Father which
is greater, my Father which gave them name, is greater than all,
and no man is able to pluck Him out of my Father's hands. I am
my Father, and I am one." Now, did Christ accomplish the salvation
that He set out to do? He said, "...as the Father hath
power in Himself to give life, even so the Son giveth eternal
life to as many as thou hast given Him. The Son quickeneth
whom He will." And I'm thankful for that. You know, this is what
I love about this, another thing I love, and I've told you all
this so many times. We have a definite message, and it will accomplish
what God intends for it to accomplish. That's why we don't have Marlene
come up here, or whoever's here, and play these old sad songs
and try to talk somebody into something. That's why we don't
stand and beg and plead. I can stand here on a Sunday
morning or a Sunday evening sometime and we have a real emotional
service. I can stand here and just keep on and on and on until
somebody would finally say, well, I believe, you know, they start
stirring around trying to make a profession. But we're not going
to do that. Christ's going to give his sheep. And he's going
to get them one way through hearing the gospel. And I'm preaching
the gospel. And when you realize you believe
the gospel, you know what you'll do? Your heart will put to rest
like that. You won't go home and say, I
don't know if I'm saved or not. No, you'll know it. You know
why? Because you'll see Christ and
you'll love Him and you'll trust Him, won't you? Oh, the more
you know of Him, the more you love Him. The more you love Him,
the more you trust Him. The more you trust Him, the more
you love Him. The more you know of Him. It just goes on and on
and on.
