Turn to Exodus 16, the title of the message, Bread from Heaven, or What Is It? That's what manna
means. What is it? God calls it bread from heaven, but
the Israelites, when they saw it, said, what is that? What is it? You'll never know
what it is. You'll never know who Christ
is unless God reveals it. It'll just be, what is it? when
he walked among his people. He said, I'm the bread of life,
and they looked at him, and it's like, who do you think you are? I'm going to read this whole
chapter, make a few comments as I go, and then I want to come
back and talk about the manna. The manna. Now, if you look back in verse
27, chapter 15, you remember they were thirsty,
complaining. They felt they were at the point
of dying. They were in a desert, you see.
It's not what the forest is. It was streams and it was a desert. And they were thirsty and then
Moses put that tree in that water and that water became The manna,
when they tasted it, when they made their wafers out of it,
it was sweet like honey. Christ puts the sweetness in
life. He puts the sweetness in all
that we do. But it says they came to Elam where were twelve wells of water.
God gave them reprieve. Rest for a little while. You
can be sure when there's a trial, there's going to come a day of
rest. You know, he tells us as parents,
don't provoke your children to anger. If he were to constantly
chasten us, and he could, he could, it would drive us to despair. But what he teaches us, and he
gives us rest. Might want to call it recess,
maybe. But he gives us rest, and then another trial comes,
and we see this through the Old Testament. Because Israel was
a type of the church, and we see the way he dealt with them.
And so there's a lot of things we can learn. And they came to
Elam, where were twelve wells of water, three score, and that
twelve wells of water, you know, you have twelve tribes of Israel,
and three score and ten palm trees, which is seventy, and
you have seventy elders in Israel. Numbers do mean things in the
Bible. And they encamped there by the waters. Now, they had
been now about six weeks out of Egypt. They had taken supplies. And now the supplies have ran
out. They've ran out. Now they have
to depend on God. So this is where the Lord brings
them, and He brings every one of His children, every one of
them, to the point where they absolutely have to depend on
Him. When the disciples said, Lord,
teach us to pray, one of the lines of that prayer, give us,
Lord, our daily bread. And our Lord Jesus Christ daily
lived upon that. He didn't have a pantry. He didn't
have a refrigerator or a cellar. He literally depended on his
Father to give him something to eat every day. Now, I've got enough food in
my house to last a little while. It'll last a while. Well, he
didn't have that. He has every day. And we have
to learn to live in dependence upon him. And we'll see that
as we go along here. And they took their journey from
Elam. They had to leave that place
of rest and relaxation. And all the congregation of the
children of Israel came to the wilderness of sin. Isn't that
appropriate? I mean, that name is so appropriate.
The interpretation of that is, they came to the wilderness of
thorns. That's what that word interpreted means, thorns. This old world is a thorn. It is a thorn in our side all
the way home. Isn't it? All the way home. and
it's appropriately named, unto the wilderness of sin, which
is between Elam and Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second
month after their departing out of the land of Egypt, this is
about six weeks, and the whole congregation of the children
of Israel murmured, here we go again. And I tell you what, this
does mirror us so much. I thought about this today a
lot. I murmur a whole lot more than I would admit. If you complain
about anything, if you complain about the weather, you're murmuring.
It's God's weather. Isn't it His weather? We didn't
create it. He did. And they murmured against Moses
and Aaron in the wilderness. Because since they couldn't get
at God, they got at the leaders. in God's leaders. Because you'll
see here, well, look over in verse 8. In the very last part
of that verse, your murmurings are not against us, but against
the Lord. I told you last week, all murmurings against God. Now back in verse 3. And the
children of Israel said unto them, Would to God, how many
times did they say this? Would to God we had died. I'll
let you go back and count how many times they've already said
this. In six weeks, in six weeks, wouldn't God have died in Egypt? Wouldn't God have died by the
hand of the Lord in the land of Egypt when we sat by the flesh
pots and when we did eat bread to
the full? Didn't our Lord say, seek ye first the kingdom of
God and his righteousness, and all these things be added to
you? He said in that same chapter, he said, is not life more than
these? He said the Gentiles seek after
what we're going to eat, what we're going to drink, what we're
going to wear, where we're going to live, and how we're going
to get along. Isn't life more than this? Isn't it more than
clothing the body? Isn't it more than what I'm going
to eat today? It's so sad that we live by our
bellies. Here they are just thinking of
food. That's all they're thinking of
is food. We have brought us forth into this wilderness to kill
this whole assembly with hunger. Now, I want you to notice how the
Lord reacts to this. And then I want you to notice
how he reacts to it when they despise the manna he gave later
on. Then said the Lord unto Moses,
Behold, I will rain bread from heaven. He could have said, I
will rain fire and brimstone, like he did on Sodom and Gomorrah.
They deserved it, didn't they? Murmuring, complaining against
the goodness of God, the mercy of God. But instead he said,
Moses, I will rain, not sprinkle, rain. Bread from heaven for you,
and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day,
that I may prove them." And you know what he proved? Here's what
he proved, and you'll see this as we go. They couldn't keep
one commandment. He proved them, all right. You
can't even keep one commandment, because you watch. He tells them
to go out and just get an omer, and then some of them, Not believing
it might not come tomorrow. Not trusting God's faithfulness.
Not taking Him at His word. It might not happen tomorrow.
We better get a two-omers. He said, I want to prove them.
And here's what I want to prove. They can't keep the commandment.
I may prove them whether they will walk in my law or no. And we know that. We know the answer
to that. No, they didn't do it. And it shall come to pass that
on the sixth day they shall prepare that which they bring in, and
it shall be twice as much as they gather daily." On the sixth
day, this is what I want them to do, because on the seventh
day they're not going to work. It's interesting that the Sabbath
was established before the law was ever given. A rest for the
people was established before the law was ever given. And Moses and Aaron said unto
all the children of Israel at evening, Then ye shall know that
the Lord hath brought you out from the land of Egypt by this
manner, by this provision. And in the morning ye shall see
the glory of the Lord, for that he heareth your murmurings against
the Lord. And what are we that ye murmur
against us? Who are we? Your murmurings against
God. The One who led you out, the One who is keeping you, the
One who is feeding you. Your murmuring is against Him. And Moses said, This shall be
when the Lord shall give you in the evening flesh to eat,
and in the morning bread to the full. For that the Lord heareth
your murmurings, which ye murmur against Him. And what are we? Your murmurings are not against
us, but against the Lord. And Moses spake unto Aaron, saying
unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, Come
near before the Lord, for He hath heard your murmurings. And
it came to pass, as Aaron spake unto the whole congregation of
the children of Israel, that they looked toward the wilderness.
And behold, the glory of the Lord appeared in the cloud."
They had that cloud. They had that pillar of fire.
Now they're going to have manna. I mean, what provisions the Lord
has made for His people! What provisions the Lord has
made for us in Christ! My soul, we need to get a hold
of this. We need to get a hold of Him. We need to get a hold
of Him. And the Lord spake unto Moses
saying, I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel. And
I wrote out by that verse, God's patience, God's longsuffering
with His people. God's longsuffering with us,
isn't He? I have heard the murmurings of
the children of Israel speak unto them, saying, That evening,
or even, ye shall eat flesh, and in the morning ye shall be
filled with bread, and ye shall know that I am the Lord your
God." This is what you will know, that I will provide. I will provide. God will provide
for His own. He will provide. And it came
to pass that at evening the quails came up and covered the camp,
and in the morning the dew lay round about the host. And when the dew that lay was
gone up, behold, upon the face of the wilderness." Now, you've
got to picture in your mind here, there's one, two million plus
people that's got to be fed every morning. I want you to grasp
this because the Lord will provide. His hand is not shortened that
he cannot provide. And there lay a small, round
thing. We'll get to these things in a little bit. Small, round
thing. As small as the horror falls
from the ground. And when the children of Israel
saw it, they said one to another, it's matter. And the interpretation
is, what is it? What is it? for they wished not
what it was. And Moses said unto them, This
is the bread which the Lord hath given you to eat. This is the
thing which the Lord hath commanded. Gather of it every man according
to his eating, not his service, not his effort,
not his merit, not his rank, not his rank in the tribe of
Israel, but every man according to his need. to eat, and it fulfilled
his hunger. And Omer, I thought of this,
he gave them portion control. And Omer, you see some of them,
like myself, have a hard time with portion control. And they
went out and they got two Omers and three Omers. And we'll see
what happened with that. And he told them, you go out,
and the Lord said, you get an omer. This is what you're going
to eat every day. And this is how much you're going to eat.
An omer for every man according to the number of your
persons. It doesn't matter how many is in the house. Christ
is enough. An omer is enough. We have enough
in Christ. We need no more. Thank ye every man for them which
are in his tents. And the children of Israel did
some, and gathered some more, some
less, because they didn't have as many in the house. And when
they did meet it with an omer, he that gathered much had nothing
over, no scraps. That's what we fed our dogs with,
scraps when I was growing up, but no scraps. And he that gathered little had
no lack. He wasn't hungry because he didn't
have enough. He had just as much to eat. They
gathered every man according to his eating. And Moses said,
let no man leave of it till the morning. It's every day. God gives us grace for today. I need grace today and he gives
me sufficient grace for today. Don't leave any of it till the
morning. Notwithstanding, they hearken
not unto Moses. That's why the Lord said, Your
fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and they perished. They perished. They never saw,
not all of them, most of them. They did not see Christ in the
manna. They didn't see the bread from
heaven. When our Lord came, they said, Moses gave us bread from
heaven. And our Lord straightened them out and said, no, he did
not. My Father gave you that bread from heaven. He's the one
who gave you the manna. Moses didn't have that kind of power.
My Father gave it to you. And they're dead because they
missed him of whom the manna was a tie. But they hearkened not unto Moses.
Some of them left of it until the morning. They didn't believe
God. They didn't believe Moses. They
didn't believe God. God gave the word to Moses, Moses to the
people, and some of them were just like, I'm going to take
a little more. And it bred worms and stank.
It stank. You can write out beside that. Disobedience always stinks. Disobedience
always stinks. It'll stink up a house. You let
your kids be disobedient. It just ruins the whole house.
It stank. It bred worms and it stank. And
Moses was wroth with them, angry. They gathered it every morning,
every man according to his eating. And when the sun waxed hot, it
melted. It melted. And it came to pass that on the
sixth day they gathered twice as much bread, two omers for
one man. And all the rulers of the congregation
came and told Moses. And he said unto them, This is
what the Lord said. Why are you surprised? That's
what he's saying. The rulers of the congregation
came and told Moses, We've got two omers. And it did not breed
worms, and it doesn't stink. And he said, well, that's what
the Lord said. Why are you surprised? Why are you surprised when what
God says comes true? We should never be surprised. It's like someone really, I'm
sure, you're praying for something, and the Lord answers your prayer,
and you're surprised. Why are you surprised for? He
said he would. Call upon me. Cast all your cares upon him
for he cares for you. And you're surprised when he
answers? Surprise comes from unbelief.
Well, I didn't believe he'd do that. He's God. Tomorrow is the rest of the Holy
Sabbath unto the Lord. Bake that which you will bake
today, and see that you will see. And that which remains over,
lay up for you to be kept until the morning." And they laid it
up until the morning as Moses bade, and it did not stink. It did not stink. Neither was
there any worm therein. Is there anything really more
beautiful than obedience? Only from the heart. To just
truly obey. To obey the Lord. To walk after
Him. That just has a fragrance about
it. It did not stink. He did just
what He said, and it did not stink. And Moses said, Eat that
today, for today is a Sabbath unto the Lord. Today you shall
not find it in the field. Six days you shall gather it,
But on the seventh day, which is the Sabbath, in it there shall
be none. And it came to pass," man, that there went out some
of the people on the seventh day for to gather, and they found
none. Well, God said, there's not going
to be any. They found none, and the Lord said to Moses, how long
refuse ye to keep my commandments and my laws? See, that the Lord
has given you the rest. Listen, He's given the Sabbath
to you. He didn't give you to the Sabbath,
but He gave the Sabbath to you. He gave you rest. He gave you
a day to rest. And we know who that Sabbath
represents, what that Sabbath represents. Christ, our rest.
And they didn't believe Him, so they went out the Sabbath
day, and they were going to gather, and there was nothing there.
There was none. You'll find that man in the wilderness
there dead. See, for that the Lord hath given
you the sabbath, therefore he giveth you on the sixth day the
bread of two days, a vaggie every man in his place. Let no man
go out of his place on the seventh day." So the people rested on
the seventh day. And we do not now observe a sabbath. We do not observe a sabbath.
Christ is our Sabbath. One time in the Scriptures, in
the New Testament, the first day of the week is called the
Lord's Day. Christ is our Sabbath. He's our
rest. He's our rest. And the house of Israel called
the name thereof Manna. God called it. What did God call
it? Bread from heaven. But they called it, what is it?
Do you know what it is? Do you know what the manna is? It's the Lord Jesus Christ. He's
the manna. He's the bread from heaven. And it was like coriander seed,
white, and the taste of it was like wafers made with honey.
You know, over in another place, I think it's Numbers, it said
it tasted like fresh oil. From reading, it seems like the
taste of it kind of changed. It tastes like fresh oil. It
tastes like honey. It was fresh. Christ is always
fresh to the believer. He is to the believer. And Moses said, This is the thing
which the Lord commanded. Fill an omer of it to be kept
for your generations. They may see the bread wherewith
I have fed you in the wilderness, when I brought you forth from
the land of Egypt." And Moses said to Aaron, this shows you
this is such a miracle of God, just as Christ is. The human
nature, the body of Christ, a body has not prepared me. He said
the bread that I give is my flesh, I give it for the life of the
world. I said, Aaron, take a pot and put an omer full of manna
there in it. Lay it before the Lord to be kept for your generation.
Now, where did they keep that at? Later on in the ark. How long was that kept? How many hundreds of years? Nearly 2,000 years before our
Lord came. An omer was kept in the ark from
this manna. But yet the children of Israel,
if they gathered more in one day, it bred worms and a stank. And yet at the same time, he
takes a homer of it, puts it later on in the ark, that same
manner, and it's pure and fresh for a thousand years. Well, that's Christ. That's Christ. As the Lord commanded Moses,
So Aaron laid it up before the testimony to be kept, and the
children of Israel did eat manna forty years until they came to a land inhabited. They did eat manna until they
came into the borders of the land of Canaan. Now, Omer is
the tenth part of an ephod. I'm taking a little bit too long
here. But this manna, I want you to
notice something, was from heaven. It did not come up out of the
ground. It did not rise up out of the dirt. It was not planted. It was not a plant on this earth.
It was not planted by some man, nor did the Israelites plant
it. It came from heaven. Christ said, I am from above,
you are from beneath. It came from heaven. God gave
it. God gave this manna. God gave
us his son. the Lord Jesus Christ, who is
the true bread from heaven. And then it came at night. When
it came, it came at nighttime. It was a mystery. They woke up
in the morning and there it was. God gave it. Great is the mystery
of godliness. God was manifested in the flesh. In the flesh. It came at night. It was such a mystery. And then
it was white. It was white. That represents holy, pure. Our Lord is holy. The Lord Jesus Christ is holy
manna. He is the holy bread from heaven. White, pure, without
spot or stain of sin. And then it was small. Small. You can go over and read
Isaiah. There's no beauty that we should
desire here. His birth was small. He was born,
I reckon, as low as anyone has ever been born into this world.
He was born in a cow stall. In a barn and laid in a manger. The King of Glory, now, was born
that way. And when they saw him, when those
Jews saw him, you know what their reaction was? What is this? That's their same reaction. What is this? Who are you? We know your brothers, we know
your brothers, your sister, Josie, James, they named them all. We
know that you're the carpenter's son. Small. Your education. How do I know
if this man letters, having never learned? They were offended at
his education. They looked at him, and in their
estimation, he was a small man. Nothing. Scripture says they
made nothing of him. They hated him without a cause. He was an embarrassment to them.
This is not our king. Don't write up over there, he's
the king of the Jews. Just put it up there, he said
that. We didn't say that. No, God said it, and it's going
to stay. Be king whether you like it or not. King long before
we ever came around. Small and small. In the estimation of this world,
there's no one smaller than Jesus Christ. In the estimation of
this fallen world. Who are you? What is it? But the Scripture says, despise
not the day of small things. Don't despise this one, because
it's small. And then it was round. It says
over there in Numbers, it was round. You know that represents
His perfection. That represents His eternality.
What does a circle have? No beginning, and it has no end. Round. It's absolutely perfect.
No beginning of days, no end of life. That's our Lord. That's our Lord. And then it's
sweet. The water, when the tree was
cast into that water, which represents the cross, it became sweet. When
they tasted the manna, it was sweet. Turn over to Song of Solomon. Chapter 5. Song of Solomon 5. Look in verse 16. His mouth, his mouth is most
sweet. Yeah, he's altogether lovely.
This is my beloved, this is my friend, O daughters of Jerusalem,
but his mouth is most sweet." That man, when they tasted it,
he was like, man, it's sweet. It tastes like honey. And I like
honey. It tastes like honey. Sweet to
the taste. There's something else I want
you to notice now. concerning the children of Israel. For forty years going through the
wilderness, before they went into the land of promise, they
did not work one day for their food. Not one day. God said to Adam, by the sweat
of your brow shall you eat your bread. Not one day did they break
a sweat. Eating the bread. They didn't
work for it. We don't work for Christ in order
to have Christ or to get Christ. He's free. Freely given. There was no price. They didn't
go get an over and then pay for it. It was free. We like free and everything with
salvation. Isn't that something? Give me a free car. Give me a
free home. But when you talk about salvation, let me do something
for it. And you know what? That's the only thing that is
free. Everything else you got to pay for. They did not work for it by faith. They got up and they went out
and they got that Omer of manna. And they did that for 40 years.
For 40 years. And they were to gather it every
morning. They didn't go out and get a
month's supply. They gathered it every morning.
What's this teaching us? What can we learn from this? I thought of this when I read
this. This is how we are to start our day. Every morning. Feeding upon the manna. Feeding
upon the Lord Jesus Christ. Every day starts with Him. I have to admit, I'm guilty a
lot of times of jumping out of bed. It takes me ten minutes
from the time I get out of bed to the time I'm in my truck and
headed to work. I don't have to put makeup on.
Ten minutes and I'm out the door. And oftentimes, while I'm driving
to work, I think, slow down, slow down. They were to go out the first
thing every morning, the first thing, because I tell you what,
if you didn't, when the sun came up, you're going to be hungry
the rest of the day. You're going to be hungry. You're lazy, you're
going to be hungry. God does not promote idleness.
They did have to go out and get it. By faith, they went out.
Because they got up in the morning and went out the door, they believed
it'd be there. God said it would. Start our day feeding on Christ. And here's something else that
teaches us. There is a continual seeking of the Lord Jesus Christ.
There is a daily seeking of the Lord Jesus Christ. Fellowship
with Him. Communion with Him. That's how
we feed on Him. And they were together enough
for that day. Well, I tell you what, because
we don't have tomorrow. Do you have the promise of living
tomorrow? Not one person in here. Not one
person. has a promise on this earth of
living tomorrow. Scripture teaches today's the
day. The Word of God teaches be diligent. Seek ye the Lord
with all your heart now, diligently. We don't have tomorrow. We don't
have it. We've got today. And notice here, when they gathered
more than needed, it bred worms and it stank. Our communion,
our fellowship with the Lord Jesus Christ is to be fresh day
by day. It's not like, you know, it's
not like I've got to go see Him again or do this. It's nothing
like that. It's fresh. It's lively. It's real. You see, they were
going to just lay it all up, and then when they were hungry
again, they'd have it in the store. No. No. They had to go get it. They had to go to the manna. When we started this service,
we went to the Lord in prayer and asked Him to bless. Tonight, you'll go to the Lord
in prayer. When you get up in the morning, you'll go to the
Lord in prayer. Throughout the day, you'll go to the Lord in prayer. And I want you to notice, when
the bread from heaven was given, when the bread from heaven was
given, that's when the rest was given, the Sabbath. He said it's
given for you to rest. But the rest was not given until
the bread from heaven was given. If you and I, if a sinner does
not find the bread from heaven, if you do not feast on the bread
from heaven, you'll never find rest in this life and in the
life to come. You'll never get it. You cannot rest until you feed
on him. There's something I thought of
also when I said on the sixth day they had a double portion. They got a double portion. And
I thought, and I don't know how applicable this is, but I thought
when we come here on the Lord's day, in a sense, we get a double
portion. We do. We get a double portion. And it's sweet. That manna was
always sweet. Now let me make a few notes here
on God who gave the manna. Notice, first of all, God's faithfulness. Forty years they ate manna, and
forty years they complained, but the manna still fell, didn't
it? Not one time through that stiff that stiff-necked people
through their murmuring, their complaining, their arguing, their
fussing, carried on, not one time did the manna not fall. You and I fail a lot. I'm not faithful all the time.
He is always faithful. He's always faithful. I thought that was just amazing.
For 40 years, all this murmuring, complaining. You can imagine
them going to bed fussing and carrying on and upset, and the
next morning they open their tent door and go out and get
the manna. God's mercy. They tasted God's
mercy and grace every morning. despite themselves. And that's
the way I do it. I get it tasted. I get it tasted
despite myself. And then God supplied all their
need, as much as they needed. They never went hungry. They
never had to plant a garden. They never had to worry about
the weather, you know, going to mess up the garden, if it
was going to grow or not grow. It didn't matter. God sent them
in the wilderness. They had an owner. Now, wherever
they went in the wilderness, you have to realize they didn't
stay in one place long enough to put down roots. They didn't
stay in one place long enough to build a city. They kept moving. Abraham, it says, was looking
for a city which had foundations who built and made with God.
And these children here, these children of Israel, going through
this wilderness for 40 years, everywhere they went, everywhere
they set up a tent that night, that evening, in the morning,
no matter where it was, there was a banner. That's right. You can feast on
Christ here. You can go to Africa and feast on Christ. You can
go to Mexico and feast on Christ. There's no place where they went
that the manna was not there. It went before them. Who will despise not the day
of small things? Be careful. Be careful murmuring
against God. Be careful. I don't have time
to get into this now. I took too much time doing what
I was doing. But I've got to have you look
at a couple of things. Numbers chapter 11. When I say be careful, You feast on that manna, thank
God for it. Seek him every day. Seek the
Lord. Chapter 11, when the people complained,
it displeased the Lord, and the Lord heard it, and His anger
was kindled, and the fire of the Lord burned among them and
consumed them that were in the uttermost parts of the camp.
And the people cried unto Moses, and when Moses prayed unto the
Lord, the fire was quenched. And he called the name of the
place Taborah, because the fire of the Lord burnt among them.
And the mixed multitude," this is where some of this trouble
started, "'Be not unequally yoked,' our Lord said. And the mixed
multitude that was among them fell lusting." The children of
Israel also wept again and said, "'Oh, who shall give us flesh
to eat?' We remember the fish. which we did eat in Egypt freely. The cucumbers, they ate it freely. They were slaves. It doesn't
take long to forget, does it? This is why we have to have trials,
one after another. It doesn't take long before we
get healthy and we forget it. We start remembering the cucumbers.
We start remembering the melons and the leeks and the onions
and the garlic. It all has to do with the flesh. But now our
soul is dried away, there's nothing at all besides this manna before
our eyes. Well, my soul, that's all you
need before your eyes. That's all you need. It's Christ. And I can't read this whole chapter
to you, but I'll tell you what. Look over in verse 33. They were
crying, wanting flesh. So God told Moses, I'm going
to give them flesh, all right. I'm going to give them flesh.
He said, I'll tell you what. Look at verse 20. Well, verse
19. You shall not eat one day, two
days, five days, ten days, twenty days, for a whole month. You're
going to eat flesh until it comes out of your nose. I said, it's
going to come out of your nostrils. I'm going to make you sick of
it. You complain and complain. I'm
going to give you something to complain about. My dad used to
say, I'll give you something to cry about. I'll give you something
to cry about. I'll give you something to complain
about. And He made them sick of it. It says down in verse
33, And while the flesh was yet between their teeth, ere it was
chewed, the wrath of the Lord was kindled against them. Those
quail flew in there two cubits deep. And they spent two days. You can read that chapter. They
spent two days cleaning them. And God made them sick of it.
And why did He make them sick of it? Because they began to
despise the manna. That sweet manna that He gave.
Now, you've got to go to Numbers 21. Verse 5, And the people spake against
God and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of
Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no bread, neither
is there any water, and our soul loatheth This light bread. This manna. Look at the next
verse. And the Lord sent fiery serpents.
You know, when they murmured and complained the first time,
they said, we're hungry. We are hungry. Moses, we haven't
eaten. We've run out of food. We're
hungry. And the Lord heard their murmuring. And what did he do?
He sent them bread from heaven. He fed them. But this time, they
complained against the bread. And now you're in trouble. Now you're in trouble. You're
complaining against God's Son. This time they loathed this light
bread. And when our Lord came into this
world, it hadn't changed, had it? Those Pharisees, had you
see? They loathed Him. They loathed
this light bread. Is He light bread to you? He's
the bread from heaven. Sweet. Sweet bread. He said,
I am that bread of life. Amen. I pray the Lord enable us to
eat of the bread from heaven and never complain against that
bread. Never complain against that bread. Thank God for it.
