Good evening. I appreciate very
much being asked to be here. It is a great honor. I'm very
thankful for every opportunity to glorify the Lord. And I'm
very grateful to this congregation. It is a true inspiration to me
to see brethren still under the gospel. And I want to be under
the gospel. And I pray that the folks in
Kingsport are under the gospel. 30, 15. 60 until the Lord takes us, sir. What an encouragement. We really
are kept by the power of God. I'm also grateful for all of
your support of us in Kingsport. We've received so much love from
from the brethren and from you and especially the help for our
building and things like that. And the hospitality we've already
been shown. We came into our hotel room to
a massive basket of goodies and I really don't know who was most
excited. We all dove right in. Turn with
me if you would to 2nd Corinthians chapter 1. 2nd Corinthians chapter 1 and
let's read verse 20. It says, for all the promises
of God in him are yea, and in him, amen, unto the glory of
God by us. Now let's begin by taking notice
of a couple of things. Number one, he tells us where
all the promises of God are. They are in him. He tells us
that twice. He said, for all the promises
of God in Him are yea, and in Him, amen unto the glory of God
by us. They are in Him. They're in Him. Who is Him? That's a good question. Who is him verse 21 says now
he which? Establishes us with you in Christ All of the promises of God are
in the Lord Jesus Christ All of the promises of God are
to the Lord Jesus Christ All the promises of God are to
the Lord Jesus Christ I'm gonna stay there just for a minute.
All the promises of God are to the Lord Jesus Christ. And to
every soul that he put in him. Everything that he has promised
is to the Lord Jesus Christ. And to all those that are in
him. Now outside of the Lord Jesus Christ, God makes no promise
of blessing to man. there are some promises outside
of Christ and they are yay and amen to they are going to be fulfilled
to they're going to be we can count on Will the promises that
are outside of Christ, the promises that God has made to sinners
who are outside of Christ, will they come to pass? It's promises
of destruction, promises of judgment, promises of wrath, promises of
an eternal torment of fire. Will all of those promises come
to pass? Yes, and so be it. Yay and amen. There are plenty of promises
to those who are outside of Christ. But they're not promises of blessing.
They're promises of condemnation. But for tonight's message, I
don't want to dwell on those. There are plenty of them. There
are plenty of them. But I don't want to dwell on
those tonight. I want to dwell on the promises that are in Christ I Want to dwell on the promises
that God has made to all those that he has sovereignly placed
in him Verse 20 says for all the promises of God in him Are
yay and in him Amen unto the glory of God by us now yay, and
amen means Yes, and so be it Whatever God says that's the
way it is whatever he says If God said it in his word it is
yes, and yes If he said it in his word It's yes And yes, it
is not yes and no. Where man has gone wrong in religion
today. You talk to somebody about the
truth, somebody who's lost in religion. All religion is really the same
false religion. It's all a yes and no message.
Man has gone wrong. That's the error of man's false
religion. That's how you can tell if a
man's lying to you. The message of error, the message
of false religion, it's a yes and no message. It's a yes and no message, right?
Here's an example of that. I'm going to ask a few questions. We'll give an example of this
message of error. Here's a question. Is Christ
enough? Is Christ all? Is He all and
in all? All that God requires. All that we need. Is Christ truly
enough? Here's our example. Well, yes. And no, it's really more of a cooperation
between the two. That's a message of lies. Hebrews
1 says, he by himself purged our sins. All right, here's a
question. Is the blood of Christ sufficient
to put away all of my sin? And I mean all of my sin. There's
a dear man that I know and love And he is sincerely, constantly
asking me that question. Are you telling me the truth?
He said, because I'm a sinner. And I'm trying to not be, but
it's not working. Is the blood of Christ enough
to put away all of my sin? And I mean all of my sin. Alright,
here's our example. Well, yes and no. His blood put away your past
sins, but you have to put away your current sins and your future
sins. That's a message of lies. That's
a false religion. Here's another question. Is salvation
finished? Isn't the question that everybody
wants to know, what must I do? Isn't that the question everybody
wants to know? When they're searching, what must I do? What do y'all
say I have to do? Is salvation finished? Well,
yes and no. Christ, he saved you. Yes, he saved you, but you have
to save yourself. Christ finished the work. Yeah,
he finished it, but you have to finish it too. That's a yes
and no message. It's a message of lies. It's
a false Religion and it's a false hope verse 20 says for all the
promises of God in him are yay and in him Amen unto the glory
of God by us Now what I want us to do tonight is read some
of the promises of God just some of them I have in my how much
time I have to speak. And we're just gonna fill up
the rest of our time reading some of the promises of God.
There are so many promises in here. There are so many promises. But all I want us to do is read
these promises, believing in our hearts that they are yea
and amen. The scripture says, Abraham staggered
not at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strong in faith,
giving glory to God, being fully persuaded that what he had promised,
he was able also to perform. What that means is, Abraham believed
that if he said it, it was yea and amen. That's what he believed. I honestly, sincerely pray that
God will give us that same belief. Just like a child. Just like
a child. When you tell a child, this is
how it is, and they say, okay. That simple. May God give us
that same heart of faith, okay? What promises has God given to
us in his word? We could start at Genesis 1. We could. We could start at Genesis
1. For the sake of time, let's start
in Matthew 1. Turn with me if you would over
to Matthew 1. We're going to do a little bit of turning here. Matthew 1 verse 21 says and She shall bring forth a son
and Thou shalt call his name Jesus For he shall save his people
from their sins He said he shall save that's a promise That's
a promise He didn't say he was going to try to save. We all repeat things we've heard.
The more seasoned we get, the less original we become. But we've all said, don't we
love the shalls in Scripture? He didn't say that He was going
to put an offer on salvation if anybody's interested. It's
going to be out there for a while before I fold it up. He didn't
say that. He didn't say that He would save
as long as His people accept Him and accept His salvation. He didn't say if you'll first
open your heart's door or give your heart to Him. He didn't
say that. He said, He shall save. He shall save his people from
their sins. No ifs, ands, or buts about it.
No conditions. John cried, behold the Lamb of
God which taketh away the sin of the world. Thank God, not
the Jews only, the Gentiles too. Go back to the Old Testament
for just a second. Go with me to Isaiah 53. Isaiah 53 every time we see the
word shall we're going to turn to these scriptures every time
we see the word shall That's a promise All right, Isaiah 53
verse 10 Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him He hath put him
to grief When thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin
He shall see His seed. He shall prolong His days, and
the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in His hand. He shall see of the travail of
His soul. God the Father shall see the
travail of His own Son's soul. He went on to say, and shall
be satisfied. By his knowledge shall my righteous
servant justify many, for he shall bear their iniquities. That really is amazing. That
really is amazing. That's a promise. That's a promise. That's what God the Father promised
for his people. Did Christ accomplish that that's
what God the father promised concerning him for his people
Did Christ accomplish that all of that for his people? Here's
the answer yay, and amen It's not well yes, and no yay,
and amen Look right here at verse four.
Surely he hath borne our griefs and carried our sorrows. Yet
we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he
was wounded for our transgressions. He was bruised for our iniquities. The chastisement of our peace
was upon him, and with his stripes we are healed. Yes, and so be
it. And thank God. Yay, and amen and hallelujah
praise the Lord Now all right there are so many
we could read we could go to every page go with me to John
6 John 6 verse 37 It says all that the Father giveth
me is shall come to me." The gospel of God's Word and God's
Holy Spirit, we are gathered around the Word begging for the
Spirit. And the gospel of this Word and
God's Holy Spirit never beg anybody to come to Christ. The Word and
the Spirit never beg anybody to come to the Lord Jesus Christ.
They command. They command. We don't beg anybody
to come to Christ. We don't stand up here saying,
now won't you please, please come, please. We're going to
keep playing over here until somebody comes. No, we don't
do that. The Lord our God said, all that the Father giveth me
shall come to me. That's a promise. That's what makes me want to
preach one more time. And he went on to say, Him that
cometh to me, I will in no wise cast out. That's a promise. Verse 38, For I came down from
heaven not to do mine own will, but the will of Him that sent
me. And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that
of all which he hath given me, I should lose nothing, but should
raise it up again at the last day. Verse 44, he said, no man
can come to me except the Father which hath sent me draw him,
and I will raise him up at the last day. He said, I will. I will, that's a promise. That's
a yay and amen promise. Look with me at John 10. John's 10 verse 14 says I am
the good shepherd and know my sheep and am known of mine as
the father knoweth me even so know I the father and I lay down
my life for the sheep verse 27 says my sheep hear my voice and
I know them and they follow me and And I give unto them eternal
life, and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them
out of my hand. That promise is yea and amen. In John 11, he said in verse
26, whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. shall never die it's a promise
John 17 verse 1 if you look there he said these words spake Jesus and lifted
up his eyes to heaven and said father the hour has come glorify
thy son that thy son also may glorify they as thou hast given
him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to
as many as thou hast given him. And this is life eternal, that
they might know thee the only true God in Jesus Christ, whom
thou hast sent. I have glorified thee on the
earth. I have finished the work which
thou gavest me to do." What was the work? It was the work of accomplishing
eternal life for his people. In chapter 19, he cried, it is
finished. And he bowed his head and gave
up the ghost. Is salvation truly finished?
Is it truly finished? Here's the answer, yea and amen. God gives faith and faith believes
it. Yay and Amen. Now our brother went to Ephesians
1 a moment ago and I thought well that's in my notes but I
may not go there. And then I realized that's everybody's favorite chapter.
I envisioned in glory someone calling out Ephesians 1 and everybody
crying Amen. So go there. Go to Ephesians
1. Ephesians 1 verse 2 says grace
be to you in peace from God our father and from the Lord Jesus
Christ Blessed be the God and father of our Lord Jesus Christ
who have blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly
places in Christ According as he hath chosen us in him before
the foundation of the world Did he really choose us? And let's put the emphasis on
us. Did He really choose us? Yea and amen. In Christ Jesus, yea and amen. Verse 4 says, According as He
has chosen us in Him before the foundation of the world, that
we should be holy and without blame before Him in love. Are
we really holy? and without blame before him. Really? In Christ? Yea, amen. Verse five says, having
predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to
himself according to the good pleasure of his will. Has he
truly predestinated us to be a member of his family? It is
so amazing that He wouldn't kill us. That's amazing. But making us a part of His family?
Are we really a member of the family in Christ? Yea and Amen. Same name. Yea and Amen. Verse 6 says, To
the praise of the glory of His grace wherein He hath made us
accepted in the Beloved. Are we really accepted in the
Beloved? in Christ, yea and amen. Verse 7 says, in whom we have
redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins according
to the riches of his grace. Are we truly redeemed? Completely redeemed, completely
forgiven, completely reinstated by the blood that was shed for
us. in Christ, yea and amen. And He goes on down to say He's
going to gather us. We have an inheritance. We are
sealed. Are all those things so? Is He
going to gather us? Have we honestly been sealed?
Is He truly coming to get us? Has He sealed us until the moment
He gathers us? It takes us to to be with Him. In Christ, yea and amen. Chapter 2 verse 5 says, By grace
you are saved. That's what the end of that verse
says. There's no buts about it. Now
don't turn to these, just listen to these. 1 Thessalonians 4 says, The Lord
himself shall descend from heaven with a shout. I can't wait. I'm counting on it. If I lay this old man down first,
he will raise the new man up. I don't understand that either,
but the dead in Christ shall rise first, meaning I'm not going
to miss it because I want to see it. And it says, the Lord
Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout. I can't wait to
hear the shout. With the voice of the archangel
and with the trump of God, the dead in Christ shall rise first,
then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with
them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so shall
we ever be with the Lord. That's a promise. Hebrews 10
says, Every priest standeth daily, ministering and offering oftentimes
the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. But this
man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat
down on the right hand of God. So he said, This is the covenant,
that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord. I
will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write
them, and their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. That's
a promise. First John 2 says, My little
children, these things write I unto you, that you sin not. And if any man sin, we have an
advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous that's promise
1st John 3 says beloved now are we the sons of God and it does
not yet appear what we shall be But we know that when he shall
appear we shall Be like him For we shall see him as he is as
a promise I 1st John 5 says he that hath
the Son hath life That's a promise now turn with me to Revelation
21 Revelation 21 verse 1 says and
I saw a new heaven and a new earth For the first heaven and
the first earth were passed away, and there was no more sea and
And I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down from
God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out
of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men,
and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people. And God himself shall be with
them and be their God, and God shall wipe away all tears from
their eyes. And there shall be no more death,
neither sorrow nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain,
for the former things are passed away. And he that sat upon the
throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto
me, for these words are true and faithful what he was saying
was that's a promise that's a promise last one revelation
22 verse 20 revelation 22 20 he which testifies these things sayeth surely I come quickly. That's a promise. It's a tough life, isn't it? These are dead bodies. These
really are dead bodies we're dragging around. He said, surely
I am coming quickly. I'm coming quickly. Very, very
quickly. What is our response to that? Amen. Yay and amen. Even so, come,
Lord Jesus. Verse 21 says, The grace of our
Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. Yay and amen. In Christ, all the promises of
God are yay and amen. Thank you, Brother Larry.
