For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

Okay, Isaiah 9. Many have called Isaiah the gospel
according to Isaiah because it's so full of gospel good news. I'm entitling the message, The
Mysteries of the Gospel of Christ. Notice verse 6. For unto us A
child is born. And of course we know this is
referring to the Lord Jesus Christ, the coming of God manifest in
the flesh. Unto us a son is given and the
government, the government, the rule and reign of the kingdom
of God shall be upon his shoulders. He has broad shoulders. He can
carry the weight and the responsibility of the government, heaven and
earth. And his name shall be called,
and notice it's all capital words, his name is Wonderful. That's
his name. We should never call anything
else Wonderful, because that's his name, Wonderful. His name
is Counselor. He is the advocate for God's
people. THE SURETY AND SAVIOR. THIS ONE
WHO IS THE CHILD BORN AND THE SON GIVEN IS ALSO THE MIGHTY
GOD. THE MIGHTY GOD. HE IS THE EVERLASTING
FATHER. HE SAID I AND MY FATHER ARE ONE.
WHAT'S TRUE OF THE SON IS TRUE OF THE FATHER. AND HE'S THE PRINCE. THE PRINCE OF PEACE. WOULD YOU HAVE PEACE WITH GOD?
found in Christ. Our Lord said to his disciples,
just before going to Calvary, he said, these words have I spoken
unto you that in me, you might have peace. In this world, you're
going to have trouble, but in me, there is peace. The mysteries of the gospel.
These things of the gospel are indeed great mysteries especially
when we consider God incarnate and they must be revealed unto
us by the Spirit of God using the Word of God. Remember our
Lord said when God the Holy Spirit has come YOU'LL TAKE THE THINGS
OF MINE, THE LORD SAID, AND HE'LL SHOW THEM UNTO YOU. AND IT HAS
TO BE BY REVELATION BECAUSE THE NATURAL CARNAL MIND IS ENMITY
AGAINST GOD. THE NATURAL CARNAL MIND WILL
NOT RECEIVE THE THINGS OF GOD. THE LORD JESUS CHRIST IS CALLED
THE UNSPEAKABLE GIFT. THE UNSPEAKABLE GIFT. WE CANNOT
FIND WORDS TO DESCRIBE HOW UNSPEAKABLE THIS GIFT OF GOD'S LOVE IS UNTO
US. BUT IT MUST BE REVEALED. WE DON'T
KNOW THESE THINGS. NATURALLY, WE DON'T HAVE UNDERSTANDING
OF THESE THINGS. IN THE LORD JESUS CHRIST, WE'RE
BLESSED WITH ALL SPIRITUAL BLESSINGS. WE HAVE WHAT IS CALLED THE UNSEARCHABLE
RICHES OF HIS GRACE. FINDING OUT. THESE THINGS ARE
ONLY KNOWN BY REVELATION, NOT REASON AND RESEARCH, BUT BY REVELATION. HE'S HID THESE THINGS FROM THE
WISE AND PRUDENT AND REVEALED THEM UNTO BABES. ONE OF MY FAVORITE
VERSES IN THE BOOK OF ROMANS 11, Says this, oh the depth of the
riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God, how unsearchable
are his judgment and his ways past finding out. Has to be by revelation, by nature
we do not understand these things. The gospel is often called a
mystery. For example, Ephesians 5 says,
this is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and
the church. And again, remember from our
study in 1 Corinthians 2, we speak the wisdom of God in a
mystery, even the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the
world unto our glory. the wisdom of God in a mystery. But especially when we talk about
the mystery of incarnation, the incarnation of the Lord, that
is God made flesh and dwelt among us. You remember the Apostle
Paul writes this in 1 Timothy, without controversy, great is
the mystery. of godliness. God was manifest
in the flesh, vindicated or justified by the Spirit, believed on in
the world, and received up into glory the Word that was with
God and was God. The same was made flesh and dwelt
among us. And John said, We beheld His
glory. The glory as of the only begotten
of the Father, full of grace and truth. God Almighty, who
inhabits eternity, inhabited a body of a real man prepared
especially for him, by him. THE OLD WRITERS WOULD SAY GOD
BECAME A MAN. GOD TOOK ON HIMSELF THE FORM
OF A SERVANT, BUT HE NEVER STOPPED BEING GOD. HE SAID, I AND MY
FATHER ARE ONE. HE TOLD PHILIP, YOU'VE SEEN ME,
YOU'VE SEEN THE FATHER, I AND MY FATHER ARE ONE. THESE ARE
GREAT MYSTERIES. THAT'S WHAT IT SAYS THERE IN
VERSE 1. FOR UNTO US A CHILD IS BORN, A MAN-CHILD. Mary had a baby. Conceived of
God the Holy Spirit, a real man child. His real humanity. And yet this one who is a child
born is the son that's given. We see both his humanity and
his deity and one blessed person. And it has to be that way. Has
to be that way. Man alone cannot satisfy God
alone cannot suffer, but the God-man mediator did both. He
suffered, and he satisfied his own holy law. In the fullness
of time, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the
law to redeem them that were under the law. So let's take
a close look at verse six and verse seven here in Isaiah nine,
verse six. A child is born, a son is given. Now, this is not saying the same
thing. This is not vain repetition. A child is born, that's one thing.
TALKING ABOUT HIS HUMANITY. BUT THE SON IS GIVEN. A CHILD WAS BORN MADE OF THE
SEED OF DAVID ACCORDING TO THE FLESH. YOU REMEMBER OUR STUDY
FROM HEBREWS 10. HE SAID A BODY HATH THOU PREPARED
ME. MARY CONCEIVED IN HER WOMB BY
THE POWER OF GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT. THAT CHILD WAS BORN. THAT CHILD
WAS BORN OF HER. A REAL MAN CHILD. like any other
child, conceived differently by God the Holy Spirit, but it
took nine months for her, for that baby to form in her womb. And then at the time of birth,
the point of God, she gave forth birth to a real man, the Lord
Jesus Christ. He was conceived of God, it had
to be that way because he could not have the sin of Adam GIVEN
TO HIM, LIKE WE'RE BORN IN SIN, SHAPED IN INIQUITY. HE WAS NOT
BORN THAT WAY. HE WAS BORN A REAL MAN, A REAL
PERSON, BUT WITHOUT SIN. THAT'S WHY HE HAD TO BE THE SEED
OF WOMAN, NOT THE SEED OF MAN. NOW THAT'S ONE THING, A CHILD
IS BORN. THANK GOD HE CAME. A CHILD, A
LITTLE BABY, CIRCUMCISED THE EIGHTH DAY, Grew up as a child
12 years old. He said I must be about my father's
business He knew even as a child why he came and what he was about
But he grew up he learned obedience in the things that he suffered
it said in the book of Hebrews So he was a real real human person
apart from sin, but it says here the son is given He's the son
of David made AFTER THE SEED OF DAVID, BUT DECLARED, DO YOU
REMEMBER FROM ROMANS 1, DECLARED TO BE THE SON OF GOD. HE WAS
NOT MADE THE SON OF GOD, HE IS ETERNALLY THE SON OF GOD, AND
GOD THE SON THAT GOD SO LOVED HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON,
THE SON OF GOD. THEREFORE THE LORD HIMSELF SHALL
GIVE YOU A SIGN, Behold, a virgin shall conceive and bear a son
and shall call his name Immanuel. You remember what that means?
Immanuel, God with us. God with us, that's who he is.
The Lord Jesus Christ had to be both man and God and one blessed
person in order to accomplish our salvation, and he did, he
did. Turn to Hebrews chapter two.
We see this in many places in the scripture, but Hebrews chapter
two, verse 14. Hebrews 2.14, for then, as much
as then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, He also himself
likewise took part of the same, Hebrews 2.14, that through death
he might destroy him that had power of the death, of death,
that is the devil, and deliver them who through
fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
He verily took not on him the nature of angels, but he took
on him the seed of Abraham. Wherefore in all things it behooved
him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a
merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God to
make reconciliation for the sins of the people. For in that he
himself suffered being tempted, he's able to succor them that
are tempted." Turn over to Hebrews 4. VERSE 14, SEEING THEN THAT WE
HAVE A GREAT HIGH PRIEST THAT IS PASSED INTO THE HEAVENS, JESUS
THE SON OF GOD, LET US HOLD FAST OUR PROFESSION, FOR WE HAVE NOT
A HIGH PRIEST WHICH CANNOT BE TOUCHED WITH THE FEELING OF OUR
INFIRMITIES, VERSE 15, BUT WAS IN ALL POINT TEMPTED LIKE AS
WE ARE, YET WITHOUT SIN. LET US THEREFORE COME BOLDLY
UNTO THE THRONE OF GRACE, THAT WE MAY OBTAIN MERCY, AND FIND
GRACE TO HELP IN TIME OF NEED. NOW DON'T TURN TO THIS ONE, LET
ME JUST READ THIS ONE TO YOU. LET THIS MIND BE IN YOU, WHICH
WAS ALSO IN CHRIST JESUS, WHO BEING IN THE FORM OF GOD, THOUGHT
IT NOT ROBBERY TO BE EQUAL WITH GOD, PHILIPPIANS 2, BUT MADE
HIMSELF OF NO REPUTATION, AND TOOK UPON HIM THE FORM OF A SERVANT,
AND WAS MADE IN THE LIKENESS OF MEN. AND BEING FOUND IN FASHION
AS A MAN, HE HUMBLED HIMSELF, became obedient of the death,
even the death of the cross, wherefore God also hath highly
exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name. At
that name every knee will bow, every tongue will confess. He
thought it not robbery to be equal with God, because he is
God. A man child is born. THE SAVIOR,
CALL HIS NAME JESUS, HE SHALL SAVE HIS PEOPLE FROM THEIR SIN,
BUT THE SON OF GOD GIVEN, GIVEN OF GOD FOR A SACRIFICE FOR OUR
SIN. HERE IN HIS LOVE, NOT THAT WE
LOVE GOD, HE LOVED US, AND HE SENT HIS SON TO BE A SACRIFICE
FOR OUR SIN. THE NEXT THING IT SAYS THERE
IN ISAIAH 9, Verse six, and the government is on his shoulders. Verse seven says, of the increase
of his government and peace, there shall be no end. That is,
he has a eternal kingdom. The government is on his shoulders. God is the king of all the earth,
but especially in regard to his spiritual kingdom. Remember our
Lord said to Pilate or one of those kings, my kingdom is not
of this world or my servants would fight. His kingdom is a
spiritual kingdom and the government of that kingdom on his shoulders. He rules and reigns in heaven
and in earth over all men, demons and angels as God our king. He is the governor. HE'S THE
CAPTAIN OF OUR SALVATION. THE KINGDOM AND RULE OF HIS CHURCH,
HIS SPIRITUAL KINGDOM RESTS UPON HIS ABSOLUTE AUTHORITY OVER ALL
HIS PEOPLE. HE IS INDEED LORD OF ALL THINGS,
BUT ESPECIALLY TO HIS CHURCH. OUR LORD SAID, ALL POWER IS GIVEN
TO ME IN HEAVEN AND EARTH. IT'S UPON HIS SHOULDERS. OUR
ETERNAL SALVATION RESTS UPON HIS SHOULDERS. He's a broad-shouldered
Savior who saves his people from their sin, who will not lose
one of his sheep. He finds that lost sheep and
puts him on his shoulder and carries him all the way to glory.
Aren't you glad the government's upon his shoulders? He is born
Remember the wise men said, where is he that is born king? He was king when he got here.
That little baby in the manger, that's the king. That's God Almighty
in human flesh, because he's the son that's given. God said,
I've set my king upon my holy hill, Zion, and he shall reign
forever. Psalm 146 verse 10 says, the
Lord shall reign forever, and he does. From everlasting to
everlasting, thou art God. Look at verse seven, Isaiah nine,
verse seven. Of the increase of his government
and peace, there shall be no end. His government, his rule,
his reign is absolute and eternal. His rule and reign cannot be
diminished and it cannot be increased because he has all authority.
HEAVEN, ALL POWER, IN HEAVEN AND IN EARTH. UPON THE THRONE
OF DAVID, UPON HIS KINGDOM TO ORDER IT AND TO ESTABLISH IT. ORDERED OF GOD. IT'S ESTABLISHED
BY THE DECREE OF GOD WITH JUDGMENT AND WITH JUSTICE FROM HENCEFORTH
EVEN FOREVER. AND I LOVE THIS LAST STATEMENT
IN VERSE 7. THE ZEAL OF THE LORD OF HOSTS
WILL PERFORM THIS. OUR SALVATION RESTS TOTALLY BY
HIS DOING. IT'S HIS PERFORMANCE. AND I LOVE
WHAT IT SAYS IN PSALM 57, HE HAS PERFORMED ALL THINGS FOR
US. ORDERED AND ESTABLISHED OF GOD
OF THE INCREASE OF HIS GOVERNMENT and the peace of his government,
and the throne of his kingdom, to order and establish it eternally
and forever. He said, I am the Lord, I change
not. Therefore, you sons of Jacob
are not consumed. Our Lord said in Hebrews 13,
remember, I'm the same yesterday, I'm the same today, and forever. And he is the God of peace. the
God of peace. We read in Hebrews 13, the God
of peace that brought again from the dead, our Lord Jesus, that
great shepherd of the sheep through the blood of the everlasting
covenant. We preach peace through our Lord
Jesus Christ. Where have we heard that before?
SUNDAY MORNING. THAT WAS OUR TAKE. WE PREACH
PEACE THROUGH, NOT THE LAW, NOT OUR WORKS, NOT OBEDIENCE, NOT
OUR FAITH, NOT OUR REPENTANCE, NOT OUR PRAYER. WE PREACH PEACE
THROUGH JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD. HE MADE PEACE FOR US WITH HIS
OWN BLOOD. AND HIS THRONE IS A JUST THRONE.
A JUST THRONE. IN HIM CRUCIFIED. HE IS A JUST
GOD AND SAVIOR. HEBREWS ISAIAH 45 RATHER. HE IS JUST AND THE JUSTIFIER. AND THE LORD OF HOSTS WILL PERFORM
ALL THINGS. REMEMBER THE PERSUASION OF ABRAHAM? ABRAHAM WAS FULLY PERSUADED.
REMEMBER? WHAT WAS HE PERSUADED ABOUT?
REMEMBER? EVERYTHING THAT GOD PROMISED
He is able to do. That's my persuasion. What persuasion are you? I'm
persuaded God's able. Able to save to the uttermost,
able to change our vile body, fashion it like unto His glorious
body. He's able to keep us from falling and to present us faultless
before the presence of God's glory. He's able to do all things. He's the almighty Savior. Now,
go back to verse six there just for a moment. Unto us a child
is born, the Lord Jesus Christ. Call His name Jesus. The Son
of God is given. The Son of God is come. He came
down from heaven to accomplish our salvation. The rule and reign
of everything rests upon His shoulders and His name. CALL
HIS NAME SAVIOR. HE IS WHAT HE'S CALLED. HE SHALL
SAVE HIS PEOPLE. HE'S THE WONDERFUL SAVIOR. CALL
HIS NAME WONDERFUL. WONDERFUL. I LOOKED THAT WORD
UP, AND IT MEANS A MIRACLE. HIS NAME IS A MIRACLE. HIS NAME
IS A MARVELOUS THING. what the angel said to Mary,
and that holy thing shall be called the Son of God. He is
wonderful, wonderful in every aspect of his person and of his
work. His name is above every name
because his name is wonderful. Neither is there salvation in
any other name but the Lord Jesus Christ. The Lord Jesus Christ,
everything about his person, wonderful he is altogether lovely
to you who believe he is precious and everything about his redeeming
work his work of redemption his sacrifice can't you say well
you know his sacrifice is hmm mediocre no it's wonderful how
about his love THE GREAT LOVE WHEREWITH HE LOVED US. THAT'S
WONDERFUL. OR ABOUT HIS MERCY. HIS MERCY IS EVERLASTING. THAT'S
WONDERFUL, ISN'T IT? EVERYTHING ABOUT HIM AND HIS
WORK AND HIS GOSPEL, WE CAN PUT THAT WORD TO IT. IT'S WONDERFUL. THEREFORE I SAY WE SHOULD NOT
USE THAT WORD IN ANY OTHER REFERENCE. I TRY TO CATCH MYSELF AND KEEP
MYSELF FROM DOING THAT THAN USING IT IN REFERENCE TO THE GOSPEL.
In Psalm 107, it says this. Oh, that men would praise the
Lord for his goodness, for his wonderful works to the children
of men. Everything he does for us is
wonderful. His sacrifice, oh, it's glorious. It's wonderful. It's a miracle
of his grace, a miracle of his mercy. Everything about his priestly
work is wonderful. How he affectionately put away
the sin of God's people by the sacrifice of himself. That's
wonderful, is it not? It's wonderful. He's wonderful
in his covenant love toward us. Nothing can separate us from
the love of God, which is in the Lord Jesus Christ. If God
be for us, who can be against us? That's wonderful news, is
it not? He's the sovereign, all glorious in his love, mercy,
grace. Sovereign because he's wonderful. Wonderful as, how about, A mediator. You need a mediator? There's
just one between God and men. Who is it? The Lord Jesus Christ. He is the wonderful mediator.
That's just the one I need. He's also called the advocate.
He said, these things I write unto you that you sin not, but
when you do, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ
the righteous. He's a wonderful advocate. He's
never lost a case. Everyone he mediates for, he
reconciles them unto God. And he ever lived to intercede
for us. His intercession is wonderful.
Boy, we can go a long way with that, can't we? Wonderful. He's
a wonderful savior who saves all of his people from their
sin. The Lord Jesus Christ is wonderful
in all he is, all he has, and all he has done. God who spared
not his own son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall
he not with him also freely give us all things? That's wonderful,
is it not? That's the best news this sinner
ever heard. Don't tell me God wants to and
can't. That's not wonderful. That's
terrible. What's wonderful is God has purposed. He says, I've spoken it, I've
purposed it, I'll do it, I'll accomplish it. He's performed
the zeal of the Lord of hosts. Will perform this. Why? He's wonderful. Look what
he says next. That's not all. He's the counselor.
He's the counselor. ISAIAH 28, 9, IT SAYS, THIS ALSO
COMETH FROM THE LORD OF HOSTS, WHICH IS WONDERFUL IN HIS COUNSEL,
AND EXCELLENT IN HIS WORKING. HIS NAME IS EXCELLENT. THE LORD
JESUS CHRIST IS THE ONLY COUNSELOR, THE ONLY ADVOCATE, THE ONLY MEDIATOR
ANY SINNER NEEDS. NOW, DO YOU KNOW THAT A LOT OF
PREACHERS IN OUR DAY are getting into the counseling business.
I've got a friend out in Wyoming that I've met on the internet
and by way of telephone. And someday I plan to visit with
him. He's in Pinedale, Wyoming. And he puts out a monthly letter
and he said in that letter that he's getting into the counseling
business. SHOULD NEVER GET INTO THE COUNSELING
BUSINESS. WE ARE TO GO FORTH AND DECLARE
THE GOSPEL. THE LORD JESUS CHRIST IS THE
COUNSELOR. WOULD YOU USURP HIS AUTHORITY?
HE'S THE COUNSELOR. WE POINT SINNERS TO THE LORD
JESUS CHRIST AS THE COUNSELOR. HE COUNSELS US IN WISDOM, IN
LEARNING, IN SPIRITUAL MATTERS, FOR HE IS THE ONE THAT REVEALS
THE GOSPEL UNTO US. I CAN'T DO ANYTHING FOR ANY SINNER. Only thing I can do is tell him
who Christ is and tell him the good news of the gospel. I can't
give him any wisdom and counsel or revelation in spiritual matters. Would you know the way of salvation? It's found in Christ. He's the
counselor. Would you know the will and purpose
of God, his redeeming, redemptive purpose? IS FOUND IN CHRIST. HE'S THE COUNSELOR. HE EVER LIVED
TO INTERCEDE FOR US. YOU SEE HE'S WONDERFUL. HE'S
WONDERFUL IN HIS COUNSEL. HE IS OUR WISDOM, RIGHTEOUSNESS,
AND PEACE. AND THEN THIRDLY IT SAYS THERE,
THE ONE, NOW HE'S TALKING ABOUT THIS SAME PERSON, THE CHILD THAT'S
BORN AND THE SON THAT'S GIVEN, HE'S THE MIGHTY GOD. He's God our Savior. He's always been and always will
be. He's Lord of heaven and earth. He was the mighty God when He
was manifest in the flesh. He never stopped being the mighty
God. This same Jesus whom you crucified, Peter declared, he's
both Lord and Christ. Every attribute of deity is found
in the Lord Jesus Christ. He has all power in heaven and
earth. Disciples asked that day, you remember when they were in
that little boat and the storm came up and the winds were boisterous
and the waves were beating over the bow of the ship and the ship
was taking on water and the ship was going down. And the Lord
Jesus Christ is over there sleeping. He had a real body. He got tired.
He wearied in body. And they woke him up and said,
Master, don't you care that we're going to drown? He rebuked the
wind. And there was a great calm. And
they said, what manner of man is this that even the wind and
the sea obey him? He's the God-man, mediator, the
Lord Jesus Christ. He is the image of the invisible
God. We read that in Hebrews 1. The
father says to the son, thy throne, O God, is forever and ever. He
is the mighty God. I agree with Thomas. who said, my Lord and my God. Remember what we read about Mary,
she said, I rejoice in God, my Savior. Who's she talking about?
That child that's born, that son that's given, that's God,
my Savior. He's the mighty God, you see
that? The glory of God shines in the face of the Lord Jesus
Christ. He is God Almighty. He always
has been from everlasting to everlasting. Thou art God. And then it says, fourthly, He's
the everlasting Father. Now, how can it be a child that's
born and a son that's given and the everlasting Father? It's
because of who He is. Isaiah is not confused here about
the Godhead. THE FATHER, SON, AND HOLY SPIRIT,
THESE THREE ARE ONE. BUT IN OUR COVENANT RELATIONSHIP,
ONE IN PURPOSE, WILL, NATURE, AND ESSENCE, BUT IN OUR COVENANT
RELATIONSHIP TO THE LORD JESUS CHRIST, HE IS OUR FATHER. WE ARE HIS COVENANT CHILDREN.
YOU REMEMBER READING IN HEBREWS 2, JUST BEFORE WE READ A LITTLE
WHILE AGO, HE SAID, BEHOLD, I AND THE CHILDREN THAT YOU'VE GIVEN
ME, He's our Father in that covenant relationship, in that covenant
love. All that the Father giveth to
me, they will come to me, and those that come to me I will
in no wise cast out. Behold what manner of love the
Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called sons
of God. He is the mighty God. He is our
everlasting Father. He's the Father. He's the author
and finisher of faith. He's the Father of our salvation. He that abideth in the doctrine
of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. Isn't that a tremendous
verse? How come I haven't preached from
that verse for the last 10 years? I've preached from this verse
every year, shouldn't we? His name shall be called Wonderful
Counselor of the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, and then
he's the Prince of Peace. He's called the King of Righteousness.
AND HE'S CALLED THE KING OF PEACE. AS WE STUDIED ON SUNDAY, HE MADE
PEACE FOR US WITH HIS OWN BLOOD. WE HAVE BEEN JUSTIFIED BY FAITH. WE HAVE PEACE WITH GOD THROUGH
OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST. LET ME READ THESE VERSES TO YOU
FROM ROMANS, CHAPTER 5. GOD COMMENDED HIS LOVE TOWARD
US, AND THAT WHILE WE WERE YET SINNERS, CHRIST DIED FOR US.
Much more than being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved
from wrath through him. For if when we were enemies,
we were reconciled to God by the death of his son, much more.
Being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. And not only
so, but with joy in God to our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we
have now received the atonement. RECONCILIATION. WE HAVE PEACE
WITH GOD THROUGH OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST. GOD WAS IN CHRIST RECONCILING
THE WORLD UNTO HIMSELF. NOW, IN CLOSING, LET ME GIVE
YOU THIS. ARE THESE THINGS TRUE? Absolutely. The angels declared
to the shepherd, unto you this day is born in the city of David
a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. The father said, it's true. He spoke from heaven twice and
said, audibly, this is my beloved son and who I'm well pleased,
hear him. THE DEMONS EVEN SAID THIS IS
TRUE, FOR THEY SAID, WE KNOW WHO YOU ARE, YOU'RE THE HOLY
ONE OF GOD, HAVE YOU COME TO TORMENT US BEFORE OUR TIME? EVEN
THE DEMONS DECLARED, HE'S THE HOLY ONE OF GOD, AND THE PROPHETS
DECLARED TO HIM, GIVE ALL THE PROPHETS WITNESS. NOW, ARE THESE
THINGS TRUE? ABSOLUTELY. IF SO, THEY ARE TRUE. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN TO ME? Well,
it means I have a ransom. It means I have a ransom paid
for my sin debt. Deliver them from going down
to the pit. God said, I have a ransom. We're bought with the
precious blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. He bought us. We're bought
with a great price, his blood. What does it mean to me? I have
a ransom. Secondly, what does it mean to me? I have a redeemer.
in whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of
sin according to the riches of his grace. What does it mean
to me? It means I have a righteousness
before God. He clothed me with the garments
of salvation and he's given me the robe of righteousness. Blessed
is that man to whom the Lord imputes righteousness without
works. What does this mean to me? It
means I have a resurrection hope. It means that Christ is all and
in all. IN HIM GOES ALL THE FULLNESS
OF THE GODHEAD BODILY, AND WE'RE COMPLETE IN HIM. I HAVE A RESURRECTION
HOPE IN CHRIST. BECAUSE HE LIVES, WE LIVE AND
MOVE AND HAVE OUR BEING IN THE BLESSED SAVIOR, THE LORD JESUS
CHRIST. NOW YOU CAN TAKE THAT VERSE HOME
WITH YOU, AND YOU CAN CHEW ON IT A WHILE, CAN'T YOU? REST OF
THE WEEK.
