Warm greetings, friends, near
and far. The Lord Jesus Christ be magnified
forever and ever. His loving kindnesses, tender
mercies, and compassions are new every morning. Great is his
faithfulness. His mercy endureth forever. This is Sinner Saved coming at
you with the following short evangelistic gospel message,
and God willing, this broadcast will reach you, Lima Charlie. Loud and clear, it is my hope
and prayer unto God most high, the only holy father, that his
only begotten son, Christ Jesus, the Lord our righteousness, be
greatly exalted, that his everlasting gospel be clearly proclaimed,
that the pride of mere flesh and blood men be humbled, and
that his elect saints be greatly encouraged, cheered, and comforted
in these evil and perilous days. Please consider having paper
and pencil handy to jot down the scriptural references for
your own follow-up study. And so we begin with the weekend
gospel message to follow for all hands. Heads up! Please find
enclosed encouragement in so great salvation by the perfect
and finished work of our Lord Jesus Christ in saving poor,
needy, and wretched sinners by his sovereign free grace. That
is to say, Almighty God in His unmerited favor to save me and
you from our sins and from hell. Christ perfectly satisfied God's
justice and truth. Let us, therefore, as many as
be perfect, be thus minded." Philippians 3.15 St. Paul says his preaching Christ,
warning and teaching every man of his ruined state and all wisdom,
was to this great and glorious end, to present every man perfect
in Christ Jesus. Colossians 1.28 How often have
our minds been distressed and dejected, I speak for one, from
seeing our imperfection in all we are and in all we do. Instead
of this, we are called again and again to rejoice in the Lord
always, see Philippians 4.4. This we shall do if our consciences
be made perfect by the blessed work of Christ, received by faith
as was observed in the last meditation. O rest not short of perfect satisfaction
in this matter. The work of Christ has perfectly
satisfied God's justice and truth and rendered honorable His holy
law. Why should it not then perfectly
satisfy your conscience and make it perfect? Now we are exhorted
to be like-minded. In what respect? You will see
in the foregoing verses. First, rejoice in the Lord. This
is the happy privilege of every believer. Yet how sadly neglected. It is a command by which the
Lord is as much honored as by obeying any one of the Ten Commandments. Consider this. Be concerned to
practice it. Number two, beware of those who
have confidence in the flesh. St. Paul called them dogs and
evil workers, as though they were ever barking and cavilling
against the perfection. which is in Christ Jesus, and
opposing somewhat of their own to it. Third, worship God in
the spirit, in the life and spirit of the gospel of grace and peace. Fourth, count all things lost
for Christ, by which you gain all things. Renounce your own
righteousness for the righteousness of Christ, received by faith. Desire to be found in Christ,
living, dying, and at the judgment. 5. Win Christ and wear Him by
faith from day to day, that you may be made conformable to His
death and dying to self, sin, and the world. 6. Follow after
Christ, knowing that all your perfection is in Him, that you
may apprehend him, catch faster hold of him, cleave more steadfastly
to Christ, abide more comfortably in him, that you may enjoy more
sweet fellowship with Christ, for which Christ apprehended
you when you're posting to hell. Oh, never forget his love in
this. Take faster hold of him. Seventh,
press toward the mark for the prize of your high calling of
God in Christ Jesus. Your calling is clear. The prize
is before you, a crown of righteousness. The Lord, the righteous judge,
holds it out for you and will surely give it you. Looking to
him by faith, forgetting the things which are behind, and
reaching forth unto the things which are before, Christ and
glory. Though perfect now, we still
press on, perfection's prize to gain. We live by faith on
God's dear Son, till all our foes are slain. And that was
from preacher William Mason. Be sober, be vigilant, because
your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about
seeking whom he may devour, whom resists steadfast in the faith,
knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren
that are in the world. See 1 Peter 5 verses 8 and 9.
My soul, thou knowest, and hast long known, from the many wounds
given thee by Satan, what a cruel, insidious, and powerful enemy
thou hast to contend with. And thou too truly knowest also,
how sadly unequal thou art in thyself to resist his wiles.
He is a prince of the power of the air. He is by nature a spirit,
and therefore invisible. Thou seest not his approaches.
He is a tremendous foe, full of envy, malignity, subtlety,
craft, and design. And what renders him yet more
formidable is that in the corruptions and unbelief of thy fallen nature,
he hath but too many confederates in thine own heart to aid him
in his diabolical designs. Where then is thy strength to
resist him? It cannot be found in thyself,
nor in thy thy best exertions, the devil would laugh at these,
and all would be but as feathers to the breath of his temptations.
Hear what the apostle saith, whom resist steadfast in the
faith. See here where thy strength is. Faith in Jesus is the only, and
it is an infallible defense against all the fiery darts of the wicked.
There is nothing that Satan dreads, but the blood of the cross of
Jesus Christ the Lord. There is nothing that conquers
him but faith in Jesus' blood. Tell him of the blood which cleanseth
him from all sin, and he will flee from thee. This was the
sole power by which the holy armies in heaven cast down the
accuser which accused them before our God day and night. they overcame
by the blood of the Lamb. See Revelation chapter 12 verses
9 through 11. And the same will give thee the
victory now. Faith in the blood of the cross
is the grace by which we have access to God. It is by faith
the soul looks to Jesus. By faith the soul is kept steadfastly
resting on Jesus. By faith the devil is steadfastly
resisted in taking confidence in the full and complete redemption
that Jesus accomplished on the cross. Look then, my soul, forever
to the cross, and while thy faith honors Jesus, Jesus will honor
thee, and this will be the standard which the Spirit of Jehovah will
lift up when at any time the enemy cometh in like a flood."
See Isaiah 59, 19. Oh, the triumphs of the cross! They overcame by the blood of
the lamb. That was from preacher Robert
Hawker. Lift up your voice in grateful
praise unto our gracious Lord. With true devotion in your heart,
may God now be adored. Our God is Lord over everything.
He made us one in all. With solemn reverence for the
Lord, before his footstool fall. Let all his children praise the
Lord with heart and soul and voice. He is the shepherd of
the sheep. The Lord made you his choice. Be ever thankful unto Him and
bless His holy name. In covenant love He sent His
Son to bear your guilt and shame. Give thanks for mercy, love,
and grace which God has well supplied. All gifts which dwell
in Christ the Son, His name be glorified. The greatest work,
as it is written in Psalm 145 verse 10, all thy works shall
praise thee, O Lord, and thy saints shall bless thee. There
is no denying that all the works of our God are wonderful and
marvelous. They all fill us with awe and amazement. We observe
his work of creation and see the wonders of his power. By
the word of the Lord were the heavens made, and all the host
of them by the breath of His mouth. For He spake it, and it
was done. He commanded, and it stood fast. See Psalm 33, verses 7 and 9. We observe his ongoing work of
providence and see his manifold wisdom. He is directing all things
to their appointed end. Everything fulfills his will,
as it is written in Romans 11 36, for of him and through him
and to him are all things to whom be glory forever. Amen. But, however much we admire and
behold with adoring wonder the Lord's creative and providential
glories, they do not begin to compare with His greatest work,
the salvation of sinners, ordained by the Father, accomplished by
the blood and righteousness of Christ, and applied to unworthy
sinners by the grace of the Spirit. Indeed, all the works of God
are great and marvelous, but no other work displays all the
divine perfections. It is only in the salvation of
sinners that we see manifested the infinite love of God and
His righteousness, His mercy and His justice, His wondrous
grace, as well as His vengeance against sin. It is written in
psalm 85 10 mercy and truth are met together Righteousness and
peace have kissed each other good message from preacher, uh,
jim bird Christ the Redeemer. There is no other, friends. There is none other name under
heaven given among men whereby we must be saved. All the types
and symbols of the Savior teach you this. There was one ark in
the flood, but one. and all perished save those who
sailed in it. There was one altar in the temple,
but one, and no sacrifices were accepted but those offered there. The altar, as the Bible says,
that sanctified the gift. There was one way through the
depths of the Red Sea, but one, and only where the water held
back by the hand of God stood up in crystal walls was a passage
opened for those that were ready to perish. And even so, there
is but one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. Therefore, the only redeemer
of God's elect is the Lord Jesus Christ. Outstanding. That was
from old-timer Thomas Guthrie. Stand still. It is written in
Exodus chapter 14, and Moses said unto the people, Fear ye
not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which
he will show to you today. For the Egyptians, whom ye have
seen today, ye shall see them again no more for ever. The Lord
shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace. As the Hebrew
children stood on the shores of the Red Sea and looking back
on Pharaoh's chariots that were about to destroy them, they feared
and sought ways of their own power and wisdom to save themselves
from death. Man by nature fears and seeks
ways of salvation from sin, death, and hell by his own sinful works
and wisdom. Men seek the ways of activity
and false religion by their own works. and will, but the gospel
message is stop, stand still and look to Christ alone for
all salvation by God's free and sovereign grace. Stand still
and rest in Christ's work of accomplished redemption and righteousness. Stop trying to establish your
own righteousness as it is impossible for man to do. It is the doing
and dying of Christ who is God manifest in the flesh and the
complete salvation of his people. Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty,
which was and is and is to come. Great is our Lord Jesus Christ
and greatly to be praised. Take heart, friends. Our mighty
and glorious King of glory is inbound for his afflicted saints. Even so, come quickly, Lord Jesus
Christ. Maranatha.
