Warm greetings, friends, near
and far. The Lord Jesus Christ be magnified
forever and ever. His loving kindnesses, tender
mercies, and compassions are new every morning. Great is His
faithfulness. His mercy endureth forever. This is sinner saved coming at
you with the following short evangelistic gospel message.
And God willing, this broadcast will reach you, Lima Charlie,
loud and clear. It is my hope and prayer unto
God Most High, the only Holy Father, that His only begotten
Son, Christ Jesus, the Lord our righteousness, be greatly exalted,
that His everlasting gospel be clearly proclaimed, that the
pride of mere flesh and blood men be humbled, and that His
elect saints be greatly encouraged, cheered, and comforted in these
evil and perilous days. Please consider having paper
and pencil handy to jot down the scriptural references for
your own follow-up study. And so we begin with the weekend
gospel message to follow for all hands. Heads up! Please find enclosed encouragement
in so great salvation by the perfect and finished work of
our Lord Jesus Christ in saving poor, needy, and wretched sinners
by His sovereign free grace. That is to say, Almighty God,
in His unmerited favor, to save me and you from our sins and
from hell. The Lord Jesus Christ declares
in Isaiah 55, 1, Come, buy wine and milk without money and without
price. A free gospel is the glory of
God's grace, the joy of humble souls, the envy of malicious
devils, and the contempt of proud, self-righteous Pharisees. Milk
is the pure, sweet, soul-nourishing doctrine of Christ. Wine is the
generous, heart-reviving comforts of pardon of sins and peace with
God through the blood of Christ. The Lord knows we cannot grow
strong nor be comfortable in our souls without this precious
milk and animating wine. Here's the Lord's open house,
public market, free invitation and fixed price. It's as if the
Lord says, come draw nigh to me, keep not a distance from
me. Make no excuse nor any delay, people. Come now this moment. Here's a free invitation and
a hearty welcome. Oh, the love of our Lord's heart. buy, art thou rich? Such the
Lord sends empty away. Hast thou brought a stock of
thine own faithfulness, terms thou hast fulfilled, and conditions
performed to buy with? Then, instead of wine and milk,
thou wilt receive a scourge from the Lord. Remember those who
who bought, he whipped out of his temple. Oh, saith the poor,
self-emptied, soul-humbled sinner, this word buy puts me to a stand. I am poor and penniless. I have nothing to bring but misery
and poverty. I am perishing for want of comfort. Thou art the very person invited. The Lord filleth the hungry with
good things. O precious word of marvelous
grace, buy without money and without price or money's worth. What, have I been five, 10, 20
years or upwards in Christ, and have I got no inherent stock
of grace, no more worth or value to buy with than I had when I
first came to Him as a poor, naked, and miserable sinner?
Must I come as at first poor and penniless? Yes, or not at
all. The Lord knows what thou art.
He invites thee just as thou art. This price just suits thy
abject poverty. What an affront would it be to
a dear friend to bring a price in our hands for a rich entertainment
with a free invitation. No affectionate mother more freely
administers the breast of nourishment to her hungry infant than the
Lord His milk and wine to thirsty souls. Faith works by the love
of this and operates upon the heart so as to produce sincere
love to God and cheerful obedience to his word and will. But base
unbelief with a bastard humility raises jealousies and suspicions
of the Lord's rich love and free grace. One says, It cannot be
for me, I am too vile. Another may say, I am unworthy
of it. Christ says in Revelation 22,
17, whosoever will, let him come. I thank thee, Lord, who fixed
thy price exactly suited to my case. Though poor and vile in
my own eyes, I'm freely welcome to thy grace. No works, no worthiness
have I to bring before my Lord to plead, but still thou sayest,
come and buy. Thy grace, my Lord, is free indeed. Good message from old-timer preacher
William Mason. A reading from Psalm 97, verses
1 and 2. The Lord reigneth, let the earth
rejoice, let the multitude of isles be glad thereof. Clouds
and darkness are round about him, righteousness and judgment
are the habitation of his throne. God reigns on high. Let saints
rejoice. O praise Him, people, of His
choice. He reigns forever over all. The
Lord reigns over great and small. God reigns upon this earth below. No matter whether friend or foe,
He reigns and works His sovereign will. He reigns with wise, unerring
skill. God reigns His purpose to fulfill. He reigns. Who can resist His
will? He reigns over angels, devils
too. Our God reigns over me and you. God reigns His wondrous grace
to give. He reigns to make dead sinners
live. He reigns to make the darkness
light. He reigns in saving love and
might. God reigns, cheer up, ye troubled
saint. He reigns, fear not, or ever
faint. He reigns, so let your soul be
still. He reigns to work his perfect
will. God's people would have it no
other way. Christ our righteousness. A reading from Jeremiah 23, verse
5 and 6. Behold, the days come, saith
the Lord, that I will raise unto David a righteous branch, and
a king shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and
justice in the earth. In his days, Judah shall be saved,
and Israel shall dwell safely. And this is his name whereby
he shall be called, the Lord our righteousness. The righteousness
of God is the absolute and essential perfection of His nature. Our
Lord Jesus, the God-man, came into this world to magnify the
law and make it honorable. See Isaiah 42, 21. And establish
righteousness for His people by suffering the penalty of the
law, which was His substitutionary and sacrificial death. We know
that the thrice-holy God can only accept into His presence
those who are righteous. As it is written in Leviticus
22, 21, it must be perfect to be accepted. And in Psalm 24,
verse 3 and 4, who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? or
who shall stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands and
a pure heart, who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor
sworn deceitfully. Since righteousness is required,
it is the standard of the judgment, see Acts 17 31, the question
to be answered is this, can anyone become righteous by their own
works and efforts, or must sinners be justified freely by the righteousness
of Christ, which is received by the God-given gift of faith? As it is written, by the deeds
of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight, for
by the law is the knowledge of sin. Romans 3 20. Let this be
clearly understood. If righteousness comes by legal
obedience, as many suppose, then Christ is dead in vain, Galatians
2.21. That is, if by some work, deed,
or prayer, you can merit the grace of God and a right standing
with the Lord, then there was no need for the Son of God to
come into this world, suffer so horribly on the cross, and
shed his blood to his death. Do you not see that it is impossible
for men to justify themselves and therefore it was necessary
that Christ die to make satisfaction to offended justice? It is his
obedience, his blood and his labors which God accepts and
approves of. The Lord imputes, that means
the Lord credits or charges the righteousness of Christ to everyone
who believes on him. knowing that a man is not justified
by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ. Even we have believed in Jesus
Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ and not
by the works of the law. For by the works of the law shall
no flesh be justified." Galatians 2 16. Sinners are justified by grace
on the basis of the righteous obedience of Christ Jesus our
Lord. Excellent message from preacher
Jim Byrd of 13th Street Baptist Church located in Ashland, Kentucky,
USA. Wherewith shall we approach the
Lord and bow before His throne by trusting in His faithful word
and pleading Christ alone? The blood, the righteousness,
and love of Jesus Christ we plead. He lives within the veil above
for us to intercede. Sure ground and sure foundation,
too, we find in His dear name. Herein we every blessing view
and every favor claim. Then let his name forever be
to us supremely dear. Our only all sufficient plea
for all our hope is in thee. That's from the old gospel hymn,
according to thy gracious word. God's people are labored and
heavy laden in the world, but at perfect rest in Christ. God's
people are constantly battling the war with sin within and without
in the world, but at perfect peace in Christ. God's people
are poor in the world, but rich in Christ, sad in the world,
but happy with joy unspeakable in Christ, filthy and vile in
the world, but pure and clean in Christ, wicked in the world,
but righteous in Christ, exposed in the world, but covered under
the blood of Christ, brought down to a low estate in the world,
but raised up to the high and lofty place in Christ. We may
have light afflictions in this world for a moment, but we have
a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory waiting for us
in Christ. See 2 Corinthians 4.17. Our Lord Jesus says, these things
I have spoken unto you, that in me you might have peace. In
the world, you shall have tribulation, but be of good cheer. I have
overcome the world. John 16, 33. That message was
from preacher Gabe Stalnaker of Kingsport Sovereign Grace
Church, located in Kingsport, Tennessee, USA. It is written in Isaiah 45, 22
where our Lord Jesus Christ commands, look unto me and be saved all
the ends of the earth for I am God and there is none else. And
the master, Christ Jesus says also in Matthew 11, come unto
me all you that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you
rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn of me, for I am meek and
lowly in heart, and ye shall find rest unto your souls, for
my yoke is easy and my burden is light. Friends, it is imperative
that you flee to Christ Jesus today, not tomorrow, for none
of us are promised another day on this planet. Today is the
day of salvation. Call upon the name of the Lord
Jesus Christ while he may be found, and seek him while he
is near. Only by being in Christ, the
ark of our salvation, may we be delivered from the fierce
wrath of Almighty God, which is coming soon upon the wicked. Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty,
which was and is and is to come. Great is our Lord Jesus Christ
and greatly to be praised. Take heart, friends. Our mighty
and glorious King of glory is inbound for his afflicted saints. Even so, come quickly, Lord Jesus. Maranatha.
