Warm greetings, friends, near
and far. The Lord Jesus Christ be magnified
forever and ever. His loving kindnesses, tender
mercies, and compassions are new every morning. Great is His
faithfulness. His mercy endureth forever. This
is Sinner Saved coming at you with the following short evangelistic
gospel message, and God willing, this broadcast will reach you,
Lima Charlie, loud and clear. It is my hope and prayer unto
God Most High, the only Holy Father, that His only begotten
Son, Christ Jesus, the Lord our righteousness, be greatly exalted,
that his everlasting gospel be clearly proclaimed, that the
pride of mere flesh and blood men be humbled, and that his
elect saints be greatly encouraged, cheered, and comforted in these
evil and perilous days. Please consider having paper
and pencil handy to jot down the scriptural references for
your own follow-up study. And so we begin with the weekend
gospel message to follow for all hands. Heads up! Please find enclosed encouragement
in so great salvation. by the perfect and finished work
of our Lord Jesus Christ in saving poor, needy, and wretched sinners
by His sovereign free grace, that is to say, Almighty God,
and His unmerited favor to save me and you from our sins and
from hell. Owned by Jesus, as it is written
in 1 Peter 1, 18 and 19. For as much as you know that
you were not redeemed with corruptible things as silver and gold from
your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers,
but with the precious blood of Christ as of a lamb without blemish
and without spot. Among the many and varied meanings
of redemption is the idea of making a purchase. In Leviticus
chapter 25, for example, we read of how people, upon getting into
financial difficulty, could sell themselves as slaves to pay their
debts. They could then, at a later date,
buy themselves back, or, if unable to do so, a near relation, a
kinsman, could redeem them, that is, to pay to have them released.
Believers have been redeemed, bought and paid for with a price,
the price of God's own blood. See Acts 20, 28. Do you know what we've been redeemed
from? We've been redeemed from all
iniquity, Titus 2.14. That's excellent news. We were slaves to death, darkness,
and the devil, but we have been bought and brought back by the
Lord Jesus. Do you know what Christ Jesus
redeemed us with? He redeemed us with his precious
blood. Precious blood was used to buy
us. When something is precious, it's
scarce. Oceans of blood have flowed through
the centuries, but none of it purchased even one of us. Great
armies have spilled countless gallons of blood, but not one
soul was redeemed by it. But when Christ arrived, his
blood was pure, precious, and perfect, and powerful. At Calvary, he poured out that
blood to purchase us. He will, therefore, preserve
his purchased possession forever. Do you know unto whom we have
been redeemed? Christ redeemed us unto himself
and will bring us home to be with him forever. See Revelation
5 10. Now that he has bought us, he
owns us. Have you heard the story of the
young teenage girl lying on her deathbed? The poor girl was understandably
concerned about her soul. Looking at her grieving mother,
she said, Mom, let me ask you a question. When you pay the
money for a dress or goods of any kind, haven't you a right
to take your purchases home with you? But of course, replied the
mother, the dying girl's eyes seemed to lighten up and sparkle
as she said, this is good news, really good news. I've been thinking
a lot about this. According to the Bible, Christ
bought me at Calvary. He bought me with an enormous
price, the price of his precious blood. This therefore must mean
that he has the right to take me home. He'll not leave me behind
like a discarded shoe. The grieving mother was momentarily
stunned, then quietly bowed her head and answered, yes, my darling,
Jesus has purchased you. He now owns you. And when he's
ready, he will take you home to be with him forever. We are redeemed from, redeemed
with, redeemed unto. What a stunning redemption. How
striking it is to remember, therefore, that we are not our own, but
are bought with a price. We are to glorify God in our
bodies and spirits, which are God's. See 1 Corinthians 6.20. He owns us, and that's the gospel
truth. That message was from preacher
Miles McKee. this entrance of life and light
that wounds our conscience. It is written in Isaiah 6, 5.
Then said I, woe is me for I am undone because I am a man of
unclean lips and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean
lips. For mine eyes have seen the King,
the Lord of hosts. Almighty God has described his
Zion as full of wounds and bruises and putrefying sores. When the
church of God fell in Adam, she fell with a crash, which broke
every bone and bruised her flesh with wounds, which are ulcerated
from top to toe. Her understanding, her conscience,
and her affections were all fearfully maimed. The first was blinded,
the second stupefied, and the third alienated. Every mental
faculty thus became perverted and distorted. As in a shipwrecked
vessel, the water runs in through every leak. So when Adam fell
upon the lee shore of sin and temptation and made shipwreck
of the image of God in which he was created, sin rushed into
every faculty of body and soul and penetrated into the inmost
recesses of his being. Or to use another figure, as
when a man is bitten by a poisonous serpent, the venom courses through
every artery and vein and he dies a corrupted mass from head
to foot. So did the poison fang of sin
penetrate into Adam's inmost soul and body and infect him
with its venom from the soul to the crown. But the fearful
havoc which sin has made is never seen nor felt until the soul
is quickened into spiritual life. Oh what work does sin then make
in the conscience when it is opened up by the Spirit of God? Whatever superficial or shallow
views we have had of sin before, it is only as its desperate and
malignant character is opened up by the Holy Spirit that it
is really seen, felt, grieved under, and mourned over as indeed
a most dreadful and fearful reality. It is this sword of the spirit
which cuts and wounds. It is this entrance of life and
light that gashes the conscience. It is this divine work which
lacerates the heart and inflicts those deep wounds which nothing
but the balm in Gilead can heal. And not only is a poor convinced
sinner cut in his conscience, inwardly lacerated and gashed
by sin as thus opened up by the spirit of God, but as the prophet
speaks, the whole head is sick and the whole heart faint. He
is thus laboring under a complication of diseases. Every thought, word,
and action is polluted by sin. Every mental faculty is depraved. The will chooses evil. The affections
cleave to earthly things. The memory, like a broken sieve,
retains the bad and lets fall the good. The judgment, like
a bribed or drunken juryman, pronounces heedless or wrong
decisions. And the conscience, like an opium
eater, lies asleep and drugged in stupefied silence. This miserable
state brought upon us and into us by the fall, all the people
of God must in some measure feel. It is of no mincing the matter
in saying that a person can be saved by the grace of God in
the blood of Christ without knowing anything of the depth of misery
and wretchedness. into which he is sunk as the
fallen child of a fallen sire. We must go down into the depths
of the fall to know what our hearts are and what they are
capable of. We must have the keen knife of
God to cut deep gashes in our conscience and lay bare the evil
that lies so deeply embedded in our carnal mind before we
can enter into and experience the beauty and blessedness of
salvation by grace. Excellent message from preacher
J.C. Philpott, approximately the year
of our Lord, 1850. It is written in Isaiah 45, 22,
where our Lord Jesus Christ commands, look unto me and be ye saved,
all the ends of the earth, for I am God and there is none else. The master, Christ Jesus, says
also in Matthew 11, verses 28 through 30, come unto me, all
you that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn
of me, for I am meek and lowly in heart, and you shall find
rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden
is light. Friends, it is imperative that
you flee to Christ Jesus today, not tomorrow, for none of us
are promised another day on this planet. Today is the day of salvation. Call upon the name of the Lord
Jesus Christ while he may be found, and seek him while he
is near. Only by being in Christ, the
ark of our salvation, may we be delivered from the fierce
wrath of Almighty God, which is coming soon upon the wicked. This about wraps up this evening's
broadcast. I trust Almighty God will awaken
His sleeping elect and draw multitudes of men, women, and children around
the world to His only begotten Son, Christ Jesus, the Lord our
righteousness, Yehovah Sidkenu. Bless the name, Baruch Hashem,
Holy One of Israel, HaKadosh Yisrael. Hallelujah. If you're led of the Lord to
