The sermon titled "Storm Warning #83," delivered by various speakers, addresses the doctrine of salvation through the finished work of Christ and the believer's identity in Him. The speakers argue that salvation is not merely a potential offer but an accomplished reality for God's elect, emphasizing that Christ's sacrifice satisfies divine justice and guarantees the eternal security of the believer (John 19:30, Matthew 1:21). They highlight the contrast between living under the law and living in the grace of Christ, warning against legalism that seeks to impose burden rather than encourage sanctification through understanding one’s position as a child of God (Romans 7:18-19). The practical significance lies in the call for believers to extend forgiveness and love towards one another, reinforcing the necessity of manifesting faith through action (1 John 3:14-16).

Warm greetings, friends, near
and far. The Lord Jesus Christ be magnified
forever and ever. His loving kindnesses, tender
mercies, and compassions are new every morning. Great is his
faithfulness. His mercy endureth forever. This is Sinner Saved coming at
you with the following short evangelistic gospel message,
which is sponsored by preacher Wayne Boyd and the brothers and
sisters in Christ Jesus, at First Baptist Church located in Almonte,
Michigan, USA. And God willing, this broadcast
will reach you, Lima Charlie, loud and clear. It is my hope
and prayer unto God Most High, the only Holy Father, that His
only begotten Son, Christ Jesus, the Lord our righteousness, be
greatly exalted, that His everlasting gospel be clearly proclaimed,
that the pride of mere flesh and blood men be humbled and
that his elect saints be greatly encouraged, cheered and comforted
in these evil and perilous days. Please consider having paper
and pencil handy to jot down the scriptural references for
your own follow-up study. And so we begin with the weekend
gospel message to follow for all hands. Heads up! Please find enclosed encouragement
in so great salvation by the perfect and finished work of
our Lord Jesus Christ in saving poor, needy, and wretched sinners
by His sovereign free grace. That is to say, Almighty God
and His unmerited favor to save me and you from our sins and
from hell. Beloved, let Christ always be
the motive for your sanctification. Is it not strange that some professors
should look to Christ alone for pardon and run to Moses, speaking
of the law, and run to Moses for sanctification? They say
the Christian is to be holy because if he is not holy, he will fall
from grace and perish. Do you not hear the crack of
the old legal whip and all that? What is that but the yoke of
the covenant which none of our fathers were able to bear? It
is the bondage of Egypt, not the freedom of the children of
God. How then should we urge the child of God to holiness?
Should it not be in this way? Thou art a child of God. Walk
worthy of him who is thy father. That was from preacher Henry
Mahan. Christ bears the name of all
his saints deep on his heart engraved attentive to the state
and wants of all his love Has saved in him a holiness complete
light and perfection shine in wisdom grace and glory meet a
savior all divine the blood which as a priest he bears for sinners
is his own the incense of his prayers in tears and performs
the holy throne. In him, my weary soul has rest. Though I am weak and vile, I
read my name upon his breast and see the father smile. That was an old hymn. Am I a
soldier of the cross? There is no doubt that true believers,
justified saints, those justified, redeemed, and sanctified by the
blood and imputed righteousness of the Lord Jesus Christ are
in an unchangeable state of righteousness based on the unchangeable righteousness
of the Lord Jesus Christ. There is also no doubt that in
spite of this state in which they forever reside, they still
bear in their bodies an Adamic nature that continually seeks
to keep them blinded to all the blessings and benefits they have
been afforded by their oneness with Christ. That being the case,
they are many times filled with insecurity and doubt and fear
and unbelief, prone to anger, pride, malice, envy, and every
other sin that dwells in man by nature. Remember what the
Apostle Paul said in Romans 7, verses 18 through 19. For I know
that in me, that is in my flesh, dwelleth no good thing. For the
will is present with me, but how to perform that which is
good I find not. For the good that I would, I
do not, but the evil which I would not, that I do. Now that, friends,
is brutal honesty. That's the word of God. This
is not an excuse for their remaining sinfulness, just the reality
of their situation in this world. We cannot and we should not ever
seek to use this truth to justify ungodly behavior, particularly
as it relates to those who are of like precious faith. In the
United States and probably in all countries, we have a saying,
blood is thicker than water, which we use to describe the
unbreakable relationship with our earthly relations, mother,
father, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, et cetera. And in almost
all cases, the majority of blood relatives can in some capacity
forgive and even forget about anything done to them or against
them by their own flesh and blood. Many who profess to believe God's
gospel, who claim they've rested in, and that they rely exclusively
on Christ's accomplished work at Calvary as their only hope
and cause of salvation have and do forgive earthly relatives
of grievous errors and evils committed against them by their
earthly friends and family. Yet many of those same professing
believers allow things that are non-essential to drive a permanent
wedge between themselves and those who have rested in Christ
as the Lord our righteousness. Something is wrong with this
picture. Forgive and forget when it comes
to those who in fact hate the true and living God, who reject
Christ's righteousness alone as their only hope and cause
of salvation, and yet be unwilling and unable to forgive those who
according to the definition of God's Word are brethren. I encourage
you to prayerfully consider the Apostle John's words. We know
that we have passed from death unto life because we love the
brethren. He that loveth not his brother
abideth in death. Whosoever hateth his brother
is a murderer, and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life
abiding in him. Hereby perceive we the love of
God because he laid down his life for us, and we ought to
lay down our lives for the brethren. That was from 1 John 3, verses
14 through 16, friends. There is no scriptural ground
or basis for the separation of brethren. None. May the Lord
cause us to see beyond outward appearance and judge matters
after the spirit and not after the flesh. That was from preacher
Richard Wormack. Salvation by the death of Christ.
When Christ died upon the mount, there was opened up a fount.
For the blood he shed that day washed our guilt and sin away.
Christ was sacrificed for sin, justice pierced him deep within.
God has therefore justified every soul for whom he died. It is
finished, Jesus cried, for the law he satisfied. For his death,
he saved the lost, paid for us the awful cost. Let us then with
one accord worship Christ, our conquering Lord, by his blood
and righteousness, we are saved and fully blessed. That words
were written by Jim Bird into the tune of the old gospel hymn,
Depths of Mercy. The cross. I'll read from Galatians 6, 14. The cross is an expression that
is used with more than one meaning in the Bible. What did Paul mean
in this verse when he wrote of glorying in the cross? This is
the point I now wish to examine closely and make clear. The cross
sometimes means that wooden cross on which the Lord Jesus was nailed
and put to death on Calvary. This is not the cross in which
Paul gloried. He would have shrunk with horror
from the idea of glorying in a mere piece of wood. I have
no doubt that he would have denounced the Romanists' adoration of the
crucifix as profane, blasphemous, and idolatrous. The cross sometimes
means the afflictions and trials which believers in Christ have
to go through for Christ's sake. This is the sense in which our
Lord used the word when he said, he that taketh not his cross
and followeth after me cannot be my disciple, Matthew 10, 38. This is also not the sense in
which Paul used the words when he writes to the Galatians, he
knew that cross well and carried it patiently, but he is not speaking
of it here. But the cross also means, in
some places, the doctrine that Christ died for sinners upon
the cross, the atonement that he made for sinners by his suffering
for them on the cross, the complete and perfect sacrifice for sin,
which he offered up when he gave his own body and soul to be crucified. In short, this one word, cross,
stands for Christ crucified, the only Savior. This is the
meaning in which Paul used this expression when he told the Corinthians,
the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness.
See 1 Corinthians 1.18. This is the meaning in which
he wrote to the Galatians. God forbid that I should glory
save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. He simply meant
I glory in nothing but Christ crucified as the salvation of
my soul. That was from old timer, JC Ryle. Savable or saved? I do not believe, and the Word
of God does not teach that Christ came into this world to put all
men in a savable state, but to put His chosen people in a saved
state. It was not to make salvation
possible to everyone if they chose to avail themselves of
the blood and righteousness of the Son of God, but to redeem
his chosen people, wash away their sins, and bring in for
them everlasting righteousness. The Bible knows nothing about
a salvation that Christ attempted to undertake, but rather a salvation
that he accomplished by his obedience unto death, The Savior's name
is Jesus, which means he shall save his people from their sins.
See Matthew 1.21. Seeing as how the word of God
says of Christ that he shall not fail, Isaiah 42.4. And since his very name means
Jehovah who saves, then he must have accomplished the salvation
for everyone in whose place he died at Calvary. What did the
Savior cry out victoriously? It is finished! John 19.30. We have every right to ask what
was finished and what was accomplished. The Savior said in his high priestly
prayer to the Father, I have finished the work thou gavest
me to do. See John 17.4. Christ by his
bloody death satisfied justice. by paying for the sins of all
of the chosen of God. The sins of his people were punished
in the suffering and death of Christ. They have been put away
and can never be laid to the charge of any of the Lord's chosen
people, for that would violate the justice of Almighty God.
The sins, iniquities, and transgressions of the Lord's people could only
be punished once in the Son of God, who gave himself to die
in our stead. That was from preacher Jim Bird. Axe96, Lord, what wilt thou have
me to do? When I read of that great rebel,
Saul of Tarsus, crying out from the humble dust of the Damascus
road, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? I get a little weary
of present day religionists aspiring for favor with God, talking about
their religious beliefs, their doctoral knowledge, and their
experiences, while they refuse his command to confess him in
baptism, withholding their gifts and offerings, forsake the worship
service of believers, find their, Pleasure and companionship in
the ranks of unbelievers manifest such little love and concern
For others while they live in a small self-centered comfortable
world Arguing religious tradition and doctrine now stand by friends
this preacher Who wrote this is going to start using righteous
sack? Sarcasm. Boy, it took me long
enough for that. Sorry. Okay. What wilt thou have
me to do? Indeed, wilt thou do it? Most present-day confessions
of faith are empty words. Few are accompanied by works
of faith or love. Preacher, I love to hear about
God's giving grace, but don't burden me with living grace.
Tell me how God loves sinners like me, but don't expect me
to love sinners like me. Tell me how Christ had laid down
His life for me, but leave off that part which exhorts me to
lay down my life for the brethren. Remind me constantly of how God
forgives my sins against Him, but don't expect me to forgive
those who sin against me. Preach to me about Christ, who,
though he was rich, yet became poor, that I, through his poverty,
might be rich. But don't talk to me about sacrificial
giving. Then, when you are finished,
we'll all stand and sing, have thine own way, Lord, have thine
own way. Man, that's some righteous sarcasm,
man. That's from old-timer Scott Richardson.
Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was and is and is to come. Lord Jesus, we wait for you.
We love thy appearing. We long for thy appearing. Come
quickly, Lord Jesus Christ. Maranatha.
