The sermon titled "Storm Warning #86" addresses the doctrine of salvation through grace alone, emphasizing the finished work of Christ and the necessity of resting in Him for redemption. The speakers articulate key points about the sufficiency of Christ's atonement, contrasting it with human efforts and self-righteousness. Scripture references such as John 19:30 (“It is finished”), Titus 3:5 (“Not by works of righteousness”), and Matthew 11:28-30 (“Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden”) underscore the importance of relying solely on Christ for salvation. The practical significance of the sermon highlights the urgency of responding to Christ’s call to salvation, warning against the dangers of legalism and the natural inclination of the heart towards self-reliance.

Warm greetings, friends, near
and far. The Lord Jesus Christ be magnified
forever and ever. His loving kindnesses, tender
mercies, and compassions are new every morning. Great is His
faithfulness. His mercy endureth forever. This
is Sinner Saved coming at you with the following short evangelistic
gospel message, which is sponsored by preacher Wayne Boyd and the
Brothers and Sisters in Christ Jesus at First Baptist Church
located in Alamont, Michigan, USA. And God willing, this broadcast
will reach you, Lima Charlie, loud and clear. It is my hope
and prayer unto God most high, the only holy father, that his
only begotten son, Christ Jesus, the Lord our righteousness, be
greatly exalted, that his everlasting gospel be clearly proclaimed,
that the pride of mere flesh and blood men be humbled, and
that his elect saints be greatly encouraged, cheered, and comforted
in these evil and perilous days. Please consider having paper
and pencil handy to jot down the scriptural references for
your own follow-up study. And so we begin with the weekend
gospel message to follow for all hands. Heads up! Please find enclosed encouragement
in so great salvation by the perfect and finished work of
our Lord Jesus Christ in saving poor, needy, and wretched sinners
by his sovereign free grace. That is to say, almighty God
in his unmerited favor to save me and you from our sins and
from hell. Come unto Jesus. Oh, hear the
Savior's gracious call to those by sin oppressed. Come unto me,
O weary one, and I will give you rest. It was for sinners,
Jesus died, who have the law transgressed. Come, guilty souls,
unto the Lord, and He will give you rest. He suffered on the
cross of shame to save the sinfulest. His blood alone can cleanse from
sin. Come unto Him and rest. Trust
not in works which you have done your righteousness detest. Come
unto Jesus as you are, come unto him and rest. O spirit of revealing
grace, may each of us be blessed. Give grace that we to Christ
would flee and find in him sweet rest. Those words were from preacher
Jim Bird and sung to the tune of Amazing Grace. the law of the Sabbath. The law of the Old Testament
Sabbath was clearly stated, but the seventh day is the Sabbath
of the Lord thy God. In it thou shalt not do any work
thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy manservant, nor thy maidservant,
nor thine ox, nor thine ass, nor any of thy cattle, nor thy
stranger that is within thy gates, that thy manservant and thy maidservant
may rest as well as thou." That was Deuteronomy 5.14. Notice
these words, thou shalt not do any work Rest, the Sabbath given
to the Jews was a type of Christ. When it comes to our salvation,
the rule still applies. Thou shalt do no work, rest. Redemption has been accomplished
by the substitutionary sacrifice of Christ. Concerning this work
of reconciliation and justification, the Savior cried out, it is finished,
John 19 30. Salvation therefore is, Not by works of righteousness
which we have done, but according to his mercy he hath saved us. Titus 3.5 The word from the scriptures
is believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved. Acts 16, 31. The penalty for
breaking the Sabbath under the old covenant was harsh and violent. You shall keep the Sabbath therefore,
for it is holy unto you. Everyone that defiles it shall
surely be put to death. For whosoever doeth any work
therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people. Exodus
31, 14. On one occasion, a man was arrested,
incarcerated, and later stoned to death because he picked up
some sticks on the Sabbath day. See Numbers 15 verses 32 through
36. Do you wonder why the punishment
for working on the Sabbath was so severe? Disobeying the commandment
of God to rest on the Sabbath pictured the refusal of proud,
self-righteous sinners to be saved solely on the basis of
the blood and righteousness of the Lord Jesus Christ. All who
refuse to rest in Christ alone for eternal salvation must be
cut off forever and cast away into everlasting destruction. That was from preacher Jim Bird
of 13th Street Baptist Church, located in Ashland, Kentucky,
USA. The disciples cried out loudly,
what matter of man is this? See Matthew 8, 27. All religious
reformers and messiahs come to live. Christ came to die. All others leave monuments and
memorials. No one can find his birthplace,
grave, nor one possession. All others write diaries and
memoirs. Christ wrote on the sand. All
others choose their followers from the rich, powerful, and
influential. Christ chose the poor and needy. All others praise human righteousness. Christ condemns it. All others
seek those who can help them. Christ sought those whom he could
help. All others promised success and
happiness to their followers. Christ promised tribulation and
suffering. All others held their disciples
with fear and force. Christ invited his own people
to leave him if they would. All others have palaces, mansions,
and headquarters. Christ had no place to lay his
head. All others reward the most talented with recognition, titles,
and honor. Christ said the least should
be the greatest. All others say, follow me, I
will show you the way. Christ said, come to me, I am
the way. All others claim to be the messengers
of God. Christ said, he that hath seen
me hath seen God. All others stay dead. He arose
and all of his claims, works and promises are true because
God raised Christ from the dead, hallelujah. Blood before the
Lord. Note in scripture how many times
the blood is said to be before the Lord. Whether any man saw
it or not was of small account for it was offered for sin before
the Lord. When the Passover lamb was slain
in Egypt, where was the blood placed? It was on the outside
of the door before the Lord. He said, when I see the blood,
I will pass over you. The suffering and death of Christ
on behalf of his people was before the Lord, unto the Lord, to declare
the Lord's righteousness, to satisfy the Lord's justice, to
fulfill the Lord's purpose, to glorify the Lord's character,
to enable the Lord to be both just and justifier. The atonement does not change
the nature and character of God, but rather the atonement honors
and magnifies the character of God. The death of Christ is not
the cause of God's love, but the result of it. God is not
merciful because Christ died. Christ died because God is merciful.
In order that every attribute might be expressed, glorified,
and honored, God gave his son to be the savior of the chosen
people. Thank God we have an atonement
before the Lord. That was from preacher Henry
Mahan. When the Lord saved me as a young
man, I found the promises of God in Christ to be very comforting
and encouraging. They gave me great hope. Now
I find them to be an absolute necessity. They are my meat and
my drink. They are my breakfast, lunch,
and dinner. The Lord Jesus says in John 6, 3, all that the Father
giveth me shall come to me and him that cometh to me, I will
in no wise cast out. with many such promises that
can lay me down to sleep knowing that in Christ all is well. That
was from preacher John Chapman. Grace is a driving force. Whenever
self-righteous, unbelieving religious people, that is to say those
who do not know and love the magnitude and depths of God's
free sovereign grace toward his people in Christ, see one of
God's true children caught up in some public sin or scandal,
They love to use such sad episodes as ammunition to attack grace
and promote their legalism. They accuse God's people of excusing
and even promoting sin in the name of grace. This is a lie. There are those who claim to
be saved by grace so as to excuse their sinful behavior, but they
are not true believers. In the new birth, true believers
have been powerfully and effectually regenerated, called by and indwelt
with the Holy Spirit. God the Holy Spirit continually
brings us to conviction, godly sorrow, and true repentance over
all sin, not just what we do, but what we are in our sinful
human nature. He will continually drive us
to Christ for forgiveness by his blood and clearing of all
sin by his righteousness imputed to us and received by faith. He will inspire us to fight all
sin within and without, not in a legal mercenary way, but in
a way of grace, love, and gratitude to God, who freely and fully
saves us from all sin. This is called the warfare of
the flesh and the spirit. Please see Galatians 5 verses
13 through 26. God the Holy Spirit will not
leave us to ourselves as we walk through the wilderness of this
world. He continually motivates us and inspires us to the obedience
of faith and love so that as God in Christ preserves us by
his grace unto final glory, we persevere in the faith and will
not leave Christ and perish in our sins. This is Christ in us,
the hope of glory. This is Christ living in and
through us by his spirit and his word. That was from preacher
Bill Parker of Eager Avenue Grace Church, located in Albany, Georgia,
USA. It is written in Isaiah 45, 22,
where our Lord Jesus Christ commands, look unto me and be ye saved
all the ends of the earth for I am God and there is none else.
The Lord Jesus also says in Matthew 11, 28 through 30, come unto
me all you that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you
rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn
of me for I am meek and lowly in heart and you shall find rest
unto your souls for my yoke is easy and my burden is light.
Friends, it is imperative that you flee to Christ Jesus today,
not tomorrow, for none of us are promised another day on this
planet. Today is the day of salvation. Call upon the name of the Lord
Jesus Christ while he may be found, and seek him while he
is near. Only by being in Christ, the
ark of our salvation, may we be delivered from the fierce
wrath of Almighty God, which is coming soon upon the wicked. This about wraps up this evening's
broadcast. I trust Almighty God will awaken His sleeping elect
and draw multitudes of men, women, and children around the world
to His only begotten Son, Christ Jesus, the Lord, our righteousness. Yehovah tzidkenu. Bless the name. Baruch Hashem, Holy One of Israel. Hakadosh Yisrael. Hallelujah. If you are a letter of the Lord
