The sermon "Storm Warning #45" emphasizes the central theme of salvation through the grace of Jesus Christ and the resultant transformation of believers. The speakers underscore the doctrine of total depravity, asserting that fallen humanity inherently resists the very Gospel that offers salvation, as alluded to in various scriptural references (e.g., Isaiah 40:29-31, Matthew 11:28-30). The argument highlights the sovereign grace of God who, through Christ's atoning work, delivers believers from sin and its consequences, providing them with a new nature that seeks holiness and righteousness. The practical significance of this sermon lies in the assurance it offers believers—especially the elderly—that they are not burdensome to God and that His grace sustains them throughout life’s trials, including physical decline, encouraging them to grow in faith and trust in His promises.

Key Quotes

Warm greetings, friends, near
and far. The Lord Jesus Christ be magnified
forever and ever. His loving kindnesses, tender
mercies, and compassions are new every morning. Great is His
faithfulness. His mercy endureth forever. This is Sinner Saved coming at
you with the following short evangelistic gospel message,
which is sponsored by preacher Wayne Boyd and the Brethren in
Christ at First Baptist Church located in Alamont, Michigan,
USA. And God willing, this broadcast
will reach you, Lima Charlie, loud and clear. It is my hope
and prayer unto God most high, the only holy father, that his
only begotten son, Christ Jesus, the Lord our righteousness, be
greatly exalted, that his everlasting gospel be clearly proclaimed,
that the pride of mere flesh and blood men be humbled, and
that his elect saints be greatly encouraged and comforted. in
these evil and perilous times. Please consider having paper
and pencil handy to jot down the scriptural references for
your own follow-up study. And so we begin with the weekend
gospel message to follow for all hands. Heads up! Please find enclosed encouragement
in so great salvation by the perfect and finished work of
our Lord Jesus Christ in saving poor, needy, and wretched sinners
by his sovereign free grace. That is to say, Almighty God
and His unmerited favor to save me and you from our sins and
from hell. Thou, Christ, the great Jehovah-art,
the fount of holiness, and God with us, thou art become the
Lord our righteousness. Oh, wash us with thy blood and
clothe with thy pure spotless dress. Oh, hide us in thyself
and be the Lord our righteousness. Make us by grace to be indeed
what we in word profess. Oh, make us like unto thyself,
the Lord our righteousness. Pour on us showers of thy grace. Increase our fruitfulness that
we may yield thine own to thee, the Lord our righteousness. So in thy glorious image raised,
may we thy mercy bless and sing forever praise to thee, the Lord
our righteousness. The chief subject of praise. A reading from Psalm 65, verses
one through three. Praise waiteth for thee, O God,
in Sion, and unto thee shall the vow be performed. O thou
that hearest prayer, unto thee shall all flesh come. Iniquities
prevail against me. As for our transgressions, thou
shalt purge them away. Here we arrive at the chief subject
of this praise, which waited for God in Christ's church at
Zion, namely, redemption by Christ's blood. For what shall purge or
wash away iniquities but the blood of the Lamb? Listener,
do not fail to mark the blessedness here expressed. that when iniquities
prevail, when sin cries for vengeance, the blood of the Lamb cries for
mercy. O Lord, let praise forever wait
in Zion for thee, thou sin-pardoning God, who cast away the sins of
thy redeemed In the depths of the sea, well may we cry out
unto the sense of it. Who is a god like unto thee that
pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant
of his heritage? He retaineth not his anger forever,
because he delighteth in mercy. He will turn again. He will have
compassion upon us. He will subdue our iniquities. And thou will cast all their
sins into the depths of the sea. Thou will perform the truth to
Jacob and the mercy to Abraham, which thou has sworn unto our
fathers from the days of old. That was Micah 7, 18 through
20. And that was from old time preacher,
Robert Hawker. Thoughts for the new year. from
2 Peter 3.18, grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord
and Savior. This is an imperative. This is a command to grow in
grace. And with the command of God also
comes the ability. In the coming year by grace,
we want to grow in grace. We want to grow in our need of
grace, love of his grace, understanding of grace and graciousness. We
want to grow in the Beatitudes, to grow in poverty of spirit,
mourning, meekness, hungering and thirsting for righteousness.
We want to grow in being pure in heart. being merciful, a peacemaker,
and being persecuted for righteousness. We want to grow in our love to
the Savior, love to our brethren, and love to all men. We want
to grow in the fruit of the Spirit. We want to grow in humility,
generosity, and zeal for His glory. We want to grow in being
approachable and nonjudgmental. We want to grow in being a friend.
We want to grow in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior and our
ability to preach Him in simplicity and clarity. Since this is all
a part of growth and grace, none of us should despair of this,
but be encouraged. By grace, may this new year be
a year of growth for us all. Happy new year. From an unknown
preacher of righteousness. on this message is entitled,
A New Nature. The person who says, I am saved by grace alone
and it does not matter how I talk, walk or conduct my life is a
fool and neither understands nor loves the grace of God. Our
union with the Lord Jesus not only justifies and sanctifies
us before the law of God and the court of heaven, but that
same regenerating union implants within and imparts unto us a
new nature, which delights in the principles and actions of
holiness. One cannot separate the blessings of Christ from
the indwelling presence of Christ. As it is written, he that loveth
not knoweth not. Learning the doctrine will not
produce a new creature, but learning Christ will. That was from preacher
Henry Mahan. the world and the gospel. The
world bears the gospel a grudge because the gospel condemns the
religious wisdom of the world. Jealous for its own religious
views, the world in turn charges the gospel with being a subversive
and licentious doctrine, offensive to God and man, a doctrine to
be persecuted as the worst plague on earth. As a result, We have
this paradoxical situation. The gospel supplies the world
with the salvation of Jesus Christ, peace of conscience and every
blessing. Just for that, the world abhors
the gospel. Old-timer preacher Martin Luther,
and I don't know who said the following, but it's a similar
vein. So great is the depravity of
unregenerate man that although there is nothing that he needs
more than the gospel, there is nothing that he desires less. It takes almighty God to reveal
himself. Encouragement for aged, uh, aged believers. It has been
said that ours is an aged congregation, and I suppose that is in great
measure an accurate statement. Is it not true, however, that
growing older is a gift from the Lord? Let us never complain
about the years God has given us. For in his infinite wisdom,
he determined the length of our days from eternity, and they
are lived in accordance with his eternal purpose. As the number
of birthdays increase, remember that the one who gave us physical
life gave us spiritual, eternal, and everlasting life in Christ.
Our Savior identified himself as I am that I am, Exodus 3.14. Certainly the years take their
toll on us, but our great I am knows no weakness. He is forever
strong to hold us and keep us safe. Hear his word, hearken
unto me, O house of Jacob and all the remnant of the house
of Yisrael, which are born by me from the belly, which are
carried from the wound. and even to your old age I am
he, and even to whore hares will I carry you. I have made and
I will bear, even I will carry and will deliver you. Precious
promise, Isaiah 46, verse three through four. Is not our Lord
the good shepherd who laid down his life for the sheep and in
regenerating grace? Is he not the seeking shepherd
who searches, finds, picks up and carries his sheep upon his
almighty shoulders, rejoicing all the way home? Thank you.
Though we grow weak through the passing of the years, he who
has carried us from the womb will never put us down. He is
mighty to save, Isaiah 63, 1. It may be that in our golden
years, we will become somewhat of a burden to our loved ones,
to society in general, and maybe we will even become a burden
to ourselves. Yet we will never become a burden
to our great God and savior who redeemed us by his blood. The
Father declared of our Savior, I have laid help upon one that
is mighty, Psalm 89, 19. Therefore, none of his children
will ever become burdensome to him who loved us and gave himself
for us. He who chose us unto salvation,
redeemed us by his blood, robed us in the righteousness of God,
and called us to himself by effectual grace is the perpetual Sabbath
of his people. Christ is our rest. Therefore,
let us find rest in him, even in the midst of physical weakness.
Child of the Lord, do not dread growing older and do not fret
about the physical weaknesses you experience. The Lord your
God governs all things and that includes the infirmities that
accompany old age. Let us grow old graciously. A
dear friend of mine who is now with the Lord said to me years
ago that he prayed that the Lord would keep him from being a grumpy
old man and a chronic complainer. Nobody is blessed by being around
such a person. Hear the word of the Lord, my
aged brethren and sisters. Hast thou not known, hast thou
not heard that the everlasting God, the Lord, the creator of
the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary. There
is no searching of his understanding. He giveth power to the faint
and to them that have no might, he increaseth strength. Even
the youths shall faint and be weary and the young men shall
utterly fall But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their
strength. They shall mount up with wings as eagles They shall
run and not be weary and they shall walk and not faint Isaiah
40 When you are weak, discouraged,
and unable to do the things you used to do, look to your glorious
Savior and find in Him sweet rest for your soul. Fully recline
yourself upon Him and be comforted. Soar with the eagles as you survey
the unsearchable riches of the grace of God, which are all yours
in Christ. And as you grow older, remember
that soon, in God's good time, you will see your beloved Savior
face to face, and the frailties caused by sin will be forever
in the past. One last thing, it may be that
as you grow older, your memory will fade, but know this, our
Lord will never forget you. The only thing God has ever forgotten
about his people is our sins, hallelujah. That was from preacher
Jim Bird. It is written in Isaiah 45, 22,
where our Lord Jesus Christ commands, look unto me and be ye saved,
all the ends of the earth, for I am God and there is none else. The master also says, Matthew
11 28 through 30 come unto me all ye that labor in our heavy
laden and I will give you rest take my yoke upon you and learn
of me for I am meek and lowly in heart and ye shall find rest
unto your souls for my yoke is easy and my burden is light and
Friends, it is imperative that you flee to Christ Jesus today,
not tomorrow, for none of us are promised another day on this
planet. Today is the day of salvation. Call upon the name of the Lord
while he may be found, and seek him while he is near. Only by
being in Christ, the ark of our salvation, may we be delivered
from the fierce wrath of Almighty God, which is coming soon upon
the wicked. This about wraps up this evening's
broadcast. I trust almighty God will awaken
his sleeping elect and draw multitudes of men, women, and children around
the world to his only begotten son, Christ Jesus, the Lord our
righteousness. Yehovah Sidkenu. Bless the name. Baruch Hashem. If you'd like to communicate,

you are from, what life is like where you live. I really look
forward to writing you back. Again, the address to write is
thelordbmagnified at gmail.com. Great is our Lord Jesus Christ,
and greatly to be praised. Take heart, friends. Our mighty
and glorious King of Glory is inbound for his afflicted saints.
Even so, come quickly, Lord Jesus, Maranatha.
