Good morning again. Let's open
the second hour with the hymn that's on the back of your bulletin.
Let's all stand together. The hymn that's on the back of
your bulletin. Oh, for even one tongue to sing
my Savior's great glory, one tongue set free to loudly ring
salvation's free story. Oh, for even one ton to preach
how Christ's sin's debt has paid, He stepped into the awful breach,
and full atonement made. Oh, for one tongue to just make
plain The glory of Christ slain, Who suffered untold grief and
pain To remove sin's cursed stain. Oh, for even one tongue to tell
what great things Christ has done. Salvation bought from sin
and hell that cannot be undone. Please be seated. Good morning. Scripture reading
is in Psalm 19 this morning, Psalm 19. The heavens declare the glory
of God, and the firmament showed his handiwork. Day unto day order
of speech, and night unto night shows knowledge. There is no
speech nor language where the voice is not heard. Everyone
sees the glory of God in creation, everyone on earth. Their line
is gone out through all the earth and their words to the end of
the world. In them have he set a tabernacle
for the sun, which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber and
rejoices as a strong man to run a race. Going forth is from end
the end of heaven in his circuit into the ends of it. And there's
nothing hid from the heat of thereof. The Lord, the Lord is
perfect, converting the soul. The testimony of the Lord is
sure, making wise the simple. The statues of the Lord are right,
rejoicing the heart. The commandment of the Lord is
pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of the Lord is clean
in doing forever. The judgments of the Lord are
true and righteous altogether. More to be desired than gold,
ye, than fine gold, sweeter also than honey and honeycomb. Moreover,
by them thy servant warn, and keeping them is a great reward.
Who can understand his errors? cleanse me from secret faults. Keep me, keep back thy servant
also from presumptuous sins. Let them not have the meaning
over me. Then I shall be upright and I shall be innocent from
the great transgression. Let the words of my mouth and
the meditation of my heart be acceptable into thy sight, O
Lord. my strength, and my Redeemer. Father God, we come before you
in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, giving you thanks that
you brought us together here to hear of your gospel, to hear
of the Lord Jesus Christ. Thank you for bringing safely
our Pastor Greg and his family and all the brothers that went
with him. Father God, we come before you
in need of your Holy Spirit. Once again, more than any moment,
to hear your word, to hear about Christ, His work, His fulfilling
of that law that we love, that we cannot fulfill, but that He
did, the Lord Jesus Christ has done. Help us see Christ more
clearly and more, let us see His face, Father God, and His
grace. In Jesus' name we pray, amen. Let's all stand together once
again. We'll sing hymn number eight from your spiral hymn book,
number eight. Oh, Lord, our hearts and souls
aspire to lift up from this earthly mire. Oh, may we think of heavenly
things and know the joy thy presence brings. Lord, let us see the
Savior's face. Let us taste of thy sweet grace. May open ears thy glories hear. And may we smell thy fragrance. ? Be pleased to open heaven's door
? And on our heads thy blessings pour ? All wretched, poor, and
needy wee ? Where can we go if not to thee Oh, may this day be blessed the
most, that Jesus Christ becomes the host to feed our souls with
living bread and with our souls in joy to wed. Please be seated. Will you open your Bibles with
me to Isaiah chapter 66. Isaiah 66. I've titled this message,
In What Does God Delight? In what does God delight? Now, the significance to the
answer to that question is that the Lord tells us in Psalm 37,
delight thyself in the Lord and he will give you the desires
of your heart. A paraphrase of that would be
that in the new birth, God makes our delights to be the same as
his delights. And as we grow in grace and the
knowledge of Christ, those delights become greater. And I have three points to this message. God delights in all his decrees. There's a article in your bulletin
this morning that I think you'll be encouraged to read on what
provenient grace is and common grace. God delights in all of
His decrees. Second, the point is that God
delights in His Son. And thirdly, He delights in what
He does in the hearts of His people. And if the Lord's pleased
to cause us to have the same delights that He has, then that'll be our hope. Delight
thyself in the Lord and he shall give thee the desires of thy
heart. You have your Bibles open to
Isaiah 66. In verse four, I also will choose
their delusions and will bring their fears upon them because
when I called, none did answer. And when I spake, they did not
hear, but they did evil before my eyes and chose that in which
I delighted not." The Lord says that the natural
man has made his choice. And his choice is to delight
in that which I delight not in. They delight in their knowledge. They delight in their works. They delight in their false gods. And the Lord says, I've sent
them a strong delusion. Look at verse 3. He that killeth
an ox is if he slew a man. He that sacrificeth a lamb is
if he cut off a dog's neck. he that offereth an oblation
as if he offered swine blood, he that burneth incense as if
he blessed an idol, yea, they have chosen their own ways and
their souls delighteth in their abominations. Now the Lord is
defining man's religion and he's likening the sacrifices that
men make in their religious activities to things that are abominable
to him. And he says they chose those
abominations, they did not delight. In 2 Thessalonians chapter 2
the scripture says that because they had no love for the truth,
they had no love for Christ and for his work, therefore I sent
them a strong delusion that they should believe the lie. Most men have no idea what God
delights in. They think that he's delighting
in something that they've done. They think that he has been made
to bless them as a result some decision that they made or some
work that they performed, they don't understand what God delights
in. And God says, your religious activity, you might as well offer
a swine on the altar of God. It is not acceptable to me. It
is an abomination to me. They've done evil before my eyes
and they've chosen that which I delighted not in. Now, in 2 Samuel, 1 Samuel 12,
verse 22, God says, the Lord will not forsake his people for
his great namesake because it pleased the Lord to make you
his people. God is pleased with everything
that God does. How could holiness, how could
holiness be pleased or delight in anything less than that which
is holy? Now our God is absolutely sovereign. He hath done whatsoever he pleased
with the armies of heaven and with all the inhabitants of the
earth. and he's pleased in what he's
done. Oh, that God would give us the
ability, the faith, to delight in what he's doing. Delight in
his decrees. Delight in the fact that he chose
a people according to his good pleasure and his will. Delight
in his creation. Delight in his providence. Delight in his redemptive work. Those are all of his decrees.
Delight in the work of regeneration. Delight in the glorification
of his people. These are the things that he
delights in. These are the things that he has decreed. Turn to
me to Daniel chapter 4. You remember the story of Nebuchadnezzar?
Nebuchadnezzar was lifted up with pride He delighted in that
which God delighted not in. He took great pleasure in thinking
that the kingdom of Babylon was the result of his power. And the Lord humbled him, turned
him into a beast. You remember, he spent seven
years out in the woods, crawling around like an animal. And then
in Daniel chapter 4 at verse 34, at the end of the days. Now that experience that Nebuchadnezzar
had was ordained of God. It was decreed of God that he
would suffer these things. I, Nebuchadnezzar, lifted up
my eyes unto heaven and my understanding returned unto me. Now I have
some understanding as to who's really in control, who's really
making all this happen, who's really in charge, and it's not
me. And I blessed the Most High, and I praised and honored him
that liveth forever, whose dominion is an everlasting dominion, and
his kingdom is from generation to generation. Nebuchadnezzar
is brought to understand that the God of heaven has decreed
all these things, that he's in complete control of all the circumstances
of this world. And so he says in verse 35, and
all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing. Nothing. You're not in control. I'm not
in control. Aren't you glad? Oh, you know, brethren, that
all things work together for good for them that love God and
those that are the called according to his purpose. I'm here to say
to you on this first point of what God delights in, that God
delights in his decrees and everything that happens happens according
to God's decree. everything, everything, everything,
whether it be the big events of the world or whether it be
the little minutia of your life or my life, everything is right
on schedule, right on schedule. Our God's in control. All the
inhabitants of this earth are reputed as nothing. He's delighting
in everything He's doing. He doeth according to his will,
verse 35, in the army of heaven and among the inhabitants of
the earth, and none can stay his hand or say unto him, what
doest thou? Nobody can change what he's done
or what he's doing. And no one can accuse him of
doing something wrong. Everything he does, everything, that happens in time
has already been decreed by God in eternity. Everything. Oh, what peace, what comfort,
what hope, what anxiety we bring upon ourselves thinking that
we're in control and we can change things. God says, this is what
I delight in. I'm pleased to make you my people. I've done it according to my
good pleasure and my will. And no man can stay my hand or
say unto me, what doest thou? Look at verse 36. At the same
time, my reason returned unto me for the glory of my kingdom
and my honor and the brightness returned unto me and my counselors
and my Lord sought me and I was established in my kingdom and
excellent majesty was added unto me. And that's what will happen
to us. We'll find a place of rest if
the Lord enables us to delight in what He delights in. He is
delighting in everything that He's doing. Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise
and extol and honor the King of Heaven, all whose works are
truth and His ways judgment And those who walk in pride, he is
able to abase. Those who think that they're
in control, he's able to show them that they're not. Now turn with me to Revelation
chapter five, please. Revelation chapter five. They delight in their abominations
because they're unable to rejoice in the one who has ordained all
things according to his good pleasure and his will. In Revelation chapter 5, John
is caught up into heaven. And here's what he sees. I saw,
verse 1, I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne
a book. The one who's sitting on the
throne is God. And he has in his hand a book,
a scroll. It is the book of God's decrees. It is the revelation of God's
purpose, of that which God delights in. In election, in creation,
in redemption, in regeneration, in providence, in glorification,
all the things that God has decreed are written in this book. And
the book is sealed. It's sealed with seven seals.
Look what John says. It was written on the backside,
sealed with seven seals, and I saw a strong angel proclaiming
with a loud voice, who is worthy to open the book and to loose
the seals thereof? And no man in heaven nor in earth,
neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither
to look thereon, and I wept much. If the purpose of God is not
fulfilled, then what is the purpose of anything? You see, men are choosing an
abomination because they're not delighting in what God delights
in. What God delights in is what He has decreed. And they're not
interested in what's written in the book. They think they're
masters of their own destiny. They think that they're in control
of their circumstances. They cannot rejoice in a God
who is absolutely sovereign and who delights in everything that
he does and everything that happens. God's done it. God's done it. And John weeps. If the book's
not open, if the seals aren't loosed, how are we going to have
the fulfillment of that which God delights in? How are we going
to have the fulfillment of God's purpose? And I wept much because
no man was found worthy to open to read the book, neither to
look thereon. We can't even see the purpose
of God. We have no idea what God's about
and what God's doing. If the book's not open, And then
what's the angel say? Or one of the elders said unto
me, weep not. John stopped crying for the lion of the tribe of
Judah hath prevailed. He hath prevailed. He hath fulfilled
God's purpose to be Lord over the living and over the dead,
to hold all things together by the word of his power, to be
the yea and amen of all the purposes of God, to fulfill all the promises
of God. This is the Lord Jesus Christ.
He's the only one that's worthy. He's the only one that's prevailed.
He's the only one that's able to open the book and make sure
that all the decrees of God are fulfilled. The root of Jesse have prevailed
to open the book and to loose the seven seals thereof. Our God is sovereign and he delights
in his sovereign will and in his sovereign purpose. Can you delight yourself in the
Lord? Can you delight in what our God's
doing? I know we... I'm talking about
right now. Right now. I'm not talking about
when you're in the thick of it and you start worrying and fretting
and trying to take control of things. We all do that every
day, don't we? I'm talking about when you hear that our God reigns
Can you delight in that? Can you rejoice in that? You
remember when Jacob's sons came back from Egypt and Joseph made
them leave Simeon behind in order for them to bring Benjamin? You
remember what Jacob said? Jacob said, Joseph is no more,
Simeon is no more, and now you want to take Benjamin? And then
he made this statement, all these things are against me. You ever feel that way? I'm sure
you do. You get in the thick of trouble
and you think everything's turning against me. And what I'm saying
to you right now is that just like Jacob, oh no, they're not
against you. To the contrary, they are working
together for your good. They are written in the book
of God unsealed by the hand of the Lord Jesus Christ. He is
accomplishing his purpose in the lives of his children. I
know the thoughts that I have for you, he said. Thoughts of
good and not of evil to bring you to your expected end. This is the end of all the decrees
of God is the salvation of God's people. That's the end of all
of his decrees. He's going to make sure that
everyone that he chose in the covenant of grace, everyone that
he died on Calvary's cross for, are gonna make it to glory. Not
one child's gonna be left behind. And he's so wise. He's so wise
that he's able to use all the circumstances. Not just able
to use them, but actually has ordained them. You say, well,
what's that mean about my responsibility? I like what your pastor once
said about responsibility, Pam. He said, responsibility is my
response to God's ability. That's a good definition. He
works in us, causing us to will and to do after his good pleasure.
Oh, this doesn't. No, to believe that God is sovereign
and that He's working all things after the counsel of His will,
to believe that He has a book of decrees whereby everything
has already been determined by Him, is what causes a believer
to pray. It's what causes a child of God
to love Him. It's what causes us to draw near
unto Him and to trust Him. It doesn't lead to fatalism. It doesn't lead to an irresponsible
life. Delight thyself in what He delights
in. He is delighting in His decrees. Everything. Everything. Everything. Secondly, He delights in His Son. Right now, can you delight in
knowing that everything that's happening is happening according
to His goodwill and purpose? Can you delight in that? Right
now, can you delight in His Son? Twice, God Almighty spoke audibly
from heaven during the ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ. Those
three years. Once was when he came out of
the baptismal waters. What did God say? This is my
beloved son in whom I am well pleased. Oh, I'm pleased with
him. I'm pleased with his obedience.
I'm pleased with his sacrifice. I'm pleased with everything he
does. Everything he does is good and perfect and I'm pleased with
him." Never did God speak that about anybody other than his
son. And then the second time was at the Mount of Transfiguration.
You remember when the veil of his humanity was taken away for
just a brief moment and James and John and Peter were there
with him on the mountain? And when Peter writes about that
experience later, he says, we did not bring to you cunningly
devised fables. We didn't make this up. We handled
the word of God. And we heard the voice of God
speak from heaven. And we saw the glory of the Lord
Jesus Christ shine forth like the noonday sun. We were forced
to the earth. What did that voice say? The
same thing it said at his baptism. This is my beloved son. In him,
I'm well pleased." Now what is the significance
of those two events? When the Lord came to John at
his baptism and said that you're going to baptize me, John said
I'm not worthy to unloose your sandals. You need to be baptizing
me. And what did the Lord say? Let
it be so that we might fulfill all righteousness. This baptismal pool doesn't save
anybody, but that baptismal pool did. The Lord Jesus Christ was baptized
for every one of his people. He went through water baptism,
symbolic of the baptism of fire that he would experience on Calvary's
cross. He suffered the wrath of God's
justice. He put away the sins of all of
his people once and for all. And God said, this is my beloved
son. In him, I'm well pleased. He's been immersed completely
in my pleasure and in my will and in my purpose. And he has
fulfilled everything I sent him to do. I'm pleased with him. And what about the Mount of Transfiguration?
What was the significance of that? Well, when Peter tells
that story, he says, as glorious as this mountaintop experience
was, we have a more sure word of prophecy. And we would be good to give
heed to the word of God, which came not by private interpretation,
but holy men of God wrote as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. God was revealing to his people
that this is the word of God. Everything he says. When he said,
this is my beloved son in whom I'm well pleased, what else did
he say? Hear ye him. Listen to what he says. Delight
in his words. Every word he speaks. We're so full of vanity when
we speak, aren't we? We just, God judges us by our
words, we're gonna be in trouble, aren't we? Never a man spake like this man.
Every word that came out of his mouth was nothing but the word
of God. as the Word of God, speaking
the Word of God, and the Lord's calling on us to delight in Him,
delight in His Word, delight in who He is, delight in what
He's accomplished. God unveils the full deity of
the Lord Jesus Christ. Turn with me to Isaiah chapter
42. Isaiah 42. Who did Peter, James, and John
see at the Mount of Transfiguration? I love it when they come up out
of the ground and they And the scripture says, and they saw
none other than Jesus. But prior to that, who did they
see? Moses and Elijah. Spake with the Lord Jesus Christ
about those things which would be accomplished at his decease. That's what the scripture says.
So here we have the Lord Jesus Christ with His humanity unveiled,
the glory of His deity shining forth, Moses and Elijah who have
been dead and gone for years. Now they're standing there with
the Lord and they're talking to Him about what He's going
to accomplish when He goes to Calvary's cross. What's He going
to accomplish? Look at Isaiah chapter 42. Behold,
my servant, whom I uphold, mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth,
I put my spirit upon him, and he shall bring forth judgment
to the Gentiles. He shall not cry, nor lift up
his cause. His voice to be heard in the
street, a bruised reed shall he not break, and a smoking flax
shall he not quench. He shall bring judgment, bring
forth judgment unto truth. He shall not fail. nor be discouraged
till he has set judgment in the earth and the aisles shall wait
for his law. And then look at verse 21 of
that same chapter. The Lord is well pleased for
his righteousness sake. He will magnify the law and make
it honorable. What was Moses talking to the
Lord Jesus Christ about at the Mount of Transfiguration? Why
was that a significant moment for God to speak again from heaven
and say, this is my beloved son in whom I'm well-pleased? They
were talking about what the Lord would do in magnifying the law,
in fulfilling the law. Now, the truth is you and I have
never been able to keep one of God's laws one time. We've just
not been able to do it. not to his satisfaction, not
anywhere close. The Lord Jesus Christ fulfilled
the law of God, not just in his obedience during his life, but
in his obedience at his death. For the law required judgment. It's what we just read. The law
required justice, just like those 10 men of Joab ran those rods
through Absalom hanging there on that tree. The law had to
be satisfied. The law had to get its justice
and its judgment. And he made the law honorable
in his life of obedience and in his sacrificial death on Calvary's
cross. That's what he was talking to
Moses about. That which would be accomplished at his decease. And what about Elijah? Elijah
is symbolic of all the prophecies of God. All the promises of God
are yea and amen in Christ. Everything that God promised
to his people were fulfilled in the Lord Jesus Christ. And
so what was the Lord speaking to Elijah about? All those Old
Testament prophecies. that told about my successful
redemption of my people is going to be fulfilled. I'm going to
accomplish everything. Why? I'm going to be pleased
with my son. He's going to make the law honorable.
He's going to fulfill all the promises of God. He's going to
be my righteousness. He's going to be immersed in
the wrath and justice of God and through his baptism and He's
going to accomplish the salvation of His people. I'm pleased with
Him. I'm pleased with Him. So here's
the question. It has pleased the Father that
in Him should all fullness of the Godhead dwell bodily and
you are complete in Him. Everything that God requires
of me and you, He looks to the Lord Jesus Christ for. He delights
in His Son. So here's my question. Do you
delight in God's decrees? They're perfect. They're perfect. Do you delight in God's son? He's perfect. And thirdly, do you delight in
what the Lord does in giving his people a discernment and
understanding and faith in his gospel. We might admire a person who
goes through a great trial with great faith, but let us be sure
to admire and worship more the one who gave them that faith. Without faith, it's impossible
to please God. For they that cometh to Him must
believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that
diligently seek Him. God gives to His people faith.
Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. To believe on the Lord Jesus
Christ. He gives them a discerning spirit. When Solomon was made king, after
David's death. The Lord gave Solomon a vision
and in that vision he told Solomon that he could ask for anything
he wanted. He could have asked for the world.
He could have asked for riches, power, strength. Solomon said,
Father I need wisdom. I need a discerning spirit. I
need the ability to know the difference between that which
is true and that which is not true. And the scripture says,
and God was pleased with his speech. God delighted in what
Solomon asked for. And God gave him wisdom. And
right on the heels of that vision, the very next verse, The scripture
says that two harlots each had a gave birth to a child three
days apart. One of them rolled over on her
infant and the infant died. And the one that was that the
one that her child died got up in the middle of the night and
swapped her baby with the other baby. Now, it's the most famous, oldest legal judgment that was ever
made in the world. It's called the splitting of
the baby. If you go to law school today, you will study the story
of Solomon and the two harlots and what the splitting of the
baby is. The problem is, at the interpretation
of this story that you'll learn in law school today is just exactly
the opposite of what that story really means. A judge today who
has two opposing defendants coming to him for judgment might say,
let's split the baby. If we pursue this lawsuit, everybody's
gonna lose. Let's just split it down the
middle and divide everything up and everybody be happy. And
they call that the splitting of the baby. That is exactly
the opposite. Exactly the opposite of what
that story was told to mean. So what does it mean? God was
delighted in the prayer that Solomon asked for wisdom. And
then on the heels of that prayer, he gives him this example. He
gives him this judgment to make. And the scripture says that the
two harlots, it's interesting that they're both harlots, the
two harlots represent the two groups of people in the world,
believers and unbelievers, and they're both harlots. The baby, is Christ. One of the harlots had a love
for that baby. Remember Solomon listened to
these two harlots arguing, oh the baby's mine, the other one
said the baby's mine. They went back and forth. Solomon's in
there listening to them, watching them, and then Solomon puts up
his hand and he says, bring me a sword. What's a sword a picture
of? It's the Word of God. the sword
of the spirit, which is the word of God, Solomon's now the king,
he's got the sword in his hand, he said, put the baby down there,
I'm gonna cut it in half and we'll give half the baby to each
one. And the mother of the baby screamed and she said, oh no,
don't kill the baby. Don't cut one little finger off
of that baby. That baby's, I love that baby.
Let the other one have it. And the one who the baby did
not belong to said, cut it in half. Cut it in half. I want half of it. Solomon knew right away whose
baby it belonged to and gave that child to its rightful mother.
What does that story represent? You see, when God gives his people
wisdom and discernment, They are completely unwilling to have
one finger cut off the baby. They're not going to sacrifice
any part of the gospel in order to find some common ground with
another harlot who doesn't love the baby. And the other one will
say, well, no, let's take the Word of God and we can find verses
that will support your position and we can find verses that will
support my position. And we'll just cut the baby in
half and we'll just agree to disagree and we'll all get along. They're like Sambal and Tobiah
who tried to get Nehemiah to come off the wall and meet in
the Valley of Ono. Come on down and let's talk about
this. And what did Nehemiah say? The
work that God has given me is too great. And he had a sword
in one hand and a trowel in the other. And so while he's building
the wall, he's protecting the people with a sword. I fear that there's someone here that's still trying to figure
out how to split the baby. still holding on to an experience
that maybe you had before you ever heard the gospel. The gospel
that you believe you were saved under is the gospel you believe. Now I run into people all the
time, had it in Australia, who are always wanting to split the
baby. You preach the gospel and they say, well, yeah, but...
And they're trying to protect their salvation and they're trying
to figure out a way to make a freewill gospel work with a gospel of
God's sovereign electing grace. They're trying to figure out
a way to make a general atonement compromise with a particular
atoning work of Christ. They're trying to mix law and
grace and they'll hear what you say and they'll say, well, yeah,
yeah, but... but you know my mother she's
such a good person she's got to be saved she goes to a false
church she's not listening to you see people are always trying
to split the baby all the time you talk to people
about the gospel here's the offense of the gospel here is the offense
of the gospel the offense of the gospel is the exclusivity
of the gospel and the one who loves the baby says no No. We're not going to take the Word
of God and divide the baby. The Word of God teaches one thing.
In the volume of the book, it is written of me. For lo, I have
come to do thy will, O God. God is pleased with Christ. This
book is about Christ. The gospel is about the Lord
Jesus Christ. And God's people delight in what
He delights in. They delight in the faith that
He's given them. And they refuse to split the baby. We're not
gonna compromise the gospel. If it means that I've got to
give up on a false hope that I had in some experience that
I had back in religion, fine. If it means that I have to come
to conclusion that my mother and my grandmother and my loved
ones are lost and on their way to hell, then so be it. But I
cannot split the baby. That's the delight. You see,
the Lord was delighted. He rejoiced in Solomon's speech
because Solomon asked for discernment. And God's people delight in the
fact that they are able to discern the truth from error. You hear
a false gospel, you know it's false. You can't give any credence
to it. How many people will hear the
gospel and they will come to the conclusion, well, that's
what I believe. That's what my church teaches. They talk about
Jesus. They talk about grace. They talk
about salvation. We must all believe the same
thing. No, we don't. No, we don't. They choose a way in which He
delights not in. Isn't that what we read in Isaiah
66 verse 4? And God has sent them a strong
delusion that they should believe the lie and the vast majority
of the people of this world are deluded. You put them all together in
one room and they'll find some common ground and the only person
You know, there's over a billion Muslims in this world. There's
over a billion Catholics in this world. There's almost a billion Buddhists in this world. And then you have all the other
religious organizations. And they all believe what they
believe. They're convinced of it. What does God say? You chose
that which I delighted not in. You put all those people, you
put a representative from every religion in the world in a room,
they're going to find some common ground and the only person that's
going to be at odds with them is the child of God. Because they delight in the wisdom
God has given them and they refuse to compromise the gospel. they're
not gonna cut one little finger off that baby. And they're certainly
not going to use the word of God to do it. What about you? Are you still
trying to split the baby? A lot of people doing it. A lot of
folks doing it. Delight thyself in the Lord.
What's he delighted with? He's delighted with all of his
decrees. He's delighted with his son. And he's delighted with
the faith, the wisdom, the discernment that he has put into the hearts
of his people. And God's people delight in what
he delights in. Our Heavenly Father, we're thankful
for your word. And Lord, how we pray that your
Holy Spirit would would speak truth to our hearts and cause
us, Lord, to delight in that which you delight in. We ask
it in Christ's name. Amen. 27. Let's stand together. Number
27. you Free from the law's great curse,
in Jesus we are free. For Christ became a curse for
us and died upon the tree. The rituals of the law and all
the Law's commands have been fulfilled in Christ the Lord,
established by His hands. No covenant with the law can
now with us exist. Complete in Christ, we stand
by grace, both free and ever blessed. No more the dread of
wrath. No more constrained by fear We
worship and we serve our God With gratitude and cheer In Jesus
we are free In Jesus we are free. Free from all sin and from all
guilt. We live in liberty. We'll join the happy song. With all the blood bought throng,
And sing the praises of the Lamb, Whose grace makes us His own.
