All right, if you wish to follow
along, turn to Genesis chapter one. No, that is not a miracle
come down from heaven. I asked Paul to read that for
our scripture reading today. Maybe I should say it's a miracle. Genesis chapter one. I asked
Paul to read this chapter to us. so that you wouldn't be thinking
about what Walter's going to say while he was reading it,
just so he would read it and you would hear what it says.
Because it may be, I don't know this for sure yet, I won't know
it until it happens, but I may preach several messages from
Genesis chapter one at least. And as I say this, for those
who may see this message on TV, This is, what is it, June the,
what is it, my watch is, June the 17th, 2018. If you see this message before
you hear Joe's message, he preached on June the 17th, 2018, I would
encourage you to get that message because although he preached
from Matthew chapter 15 and I'm gonna preach from Genesis chapter
one, we're gonna be talking about pretty much the exact same thing. The reason I say this is because
there is, in Genesis chapter one, a common phrase. It's amazing when you think about
it. Think about this. This phrase is this, after his kind. This is a phrase, after his kind. A similar phrase is used, after
their kind. It means the same thing. It's
just talking about a group of kinds, things, as opposed to
one kind. after their kind. There's a corresponding
phrase, whose seed is in itself. These facts are stated some 12
times. That's amazing when you think
about it. We have it divided up for us to help us find things
in 31 verses in this chapter one about the creation of the
universe. 12 times God Almighty is pleased
to impress upon our hearts and minds this phrase, after his
kind. Plant life, he says it three
times. Sea creatures and birds, land
creatures, says it all about them. Says it about the third
day, says it about the fifth day, and says it about the sixth
day. Now don't get bogged down on
those numbers themselves. Here's the point. God said, after his kind. Also it says on the sixth day
that God made man in his own image and told man to be fruitful
and multiply, but they never did in the garden. Everything
else did in a matter of days. And I've looked at this. It wasn't
long. Okay? It wasn't long if you really
look at it. It had to be Mason a matter of days. And all the
other animals were being fruitful multiple, the animals were. And
the creatures and the birds and the whales. They were being fruitful
and multiplying over the face of the earth within days. And
I want to say this in a right way. Adam and Eve were told to
do the same thing. When they could have been busy
enjoying one another and reproducing, what were they doing? Oh, they
rebelled against God. Think about that for a moment.
When they could have been enjoying one another's bodies. I can only
say it so far. But you know what I'm talking
about? And reproducing after their kind. They did not. They rebelled against God. I
guess you know what my title and subject is then, don't you?
After his kind. Think about this, religious men
debate. I said religious men. And when I say religious, I'm
talking about mostly professing Christianity, but there are other
religions that believe in creation, creation time. God created, whoever
God is, he created. But I'm speaking mainly about
Christianity, so-called Christianity. Religious men debate the secular
and scientific men about creation versus evolution. One of the
scriptural proofs, and there's a lot more than that, one of
the scriptural proofs to settle this debate is this. Of course,
that's only if you believe the Bible is God's inspired word
is exactly accurate, of course. I understand that. But one of
the scriptural proofs to settle the debate is after his kind.
And these religious folks will debate the secular and scientific
based upon this. Everything brings forth after
his kind. You see it? Not one kind evolves
into another kind. That kills evolution right there.
I will not debate that with any man. I'm not gonna do it. But many of the same religious
people, this is what's sad, they'll fight, they'll get on TV and
debate that creation is true and evolution is a lie. Okay,
they'll get on TV or whatever, expose themselves to whatever
to stand up for creation versus evolution, and creation is right.
But many of these same religious people stop only with creation. It applies only to creation.
And therefore, it's creation, not evolution. Now, do you understand
what I'm saying, what I'm getting at? They stop only with creation. Many reject this as God's established
order. of all of time and humanity. All of this universe brings forth
after His kind. Amen. That's right. Right? As a matter of fact, if what
some of the scientists are telling us is true, the Bible doesn't
deal with it here. Okay, they're certain that we'll
look at some of these other things later. It doesn't deal with here
in chapter one, but they say we've looked out into the far
reaches of space, and we can see way back in time, and I won't
argue against that, I don't know. I got no reason to doubt that,
but they say stars even do what? Bring forth what? After their
kind. Huh? Now things may not evolve,
but they may change, but they're still the same kind. Now the
scientists don't tell you that, because they don't like the phrase
after his kind. But I'm telling you that even
most, sadly, don't make me happy to say this, sadly most of professing
Christianity thinks that after his kind stopped right there
in the garden. But it didn't. It didn't. after his kind has still followed
in all of this world. Christ confirmed this order some
4,000 years later. He confirmed this order was still
set and still established and that it even deals with mankind.
Somebody said, well, it doesn't talk about man bringing forth
after his kind. Well, he did. Go back, go read
chapter three, chapter four. Okay? Here's what Christ said,
here's this one simple phrase. That which is born of the flesh
is flesh. That which is born of the spirit
is spirit. This is a divine established
order and it's not just for the original creation. It is for
all things and all time. Everything because God ordained
it this way can. bring forth only after he is
kind. That which is born of the flesh
is flesh and that's all it will and can ever be. Flesh never becomes spiritual. But equally so, that which is
born of the spirit is spirit. And it never becomes flesh. Huh? Flesh. Flesh. Why the dual kinds? Why now do
we hear Christ saying that which is born of the flesh is flesh?
Whatever flesh. Animal flesh? Bird flesh? Fish flesh? Human flesh? Right? Terrestrial flesh. You understand what I'm getting
at here? Everything brings forth hell. after his kind. And if God ever begins to show
us that, we'll get just a little bit of idea of who God is and
how God Almighty operates. It'll solve a lot of problems.
It won't give you answers to every problem, but it'll solve
the problem for you. You'll just bow down and say,
that's the way it is. That's just the way it is. Not
talking about trying to figure it all out. As we'll see, God
willing, later in Genesis chapter one, not trying to figure it
all out. It's just bowing down to the word of God. Why? Because
even in nature we see this is so. We know that a woman can bear
a child from a man and don't even have to now have intimate
relationships with that man. Right? But she still has to have
the man. Because the sperm has to be put
in there. We can't create the sperm. out
of nothing. It has to come from where? His
own kind. Period. And they'll never get
over that obstacle. I guarantee you that. And I'm
not a prophet. I just know what this book says.
We'll never get past that one, folks. After his kind. Why the dual kinds? Adam fail. Adam fail. Now think about it,
anybody that denies that Adam failed, you don't believe God,
you don't believe this book. And I'm not talking to you unless
God Almighty changes you. Adam's fall did not change God's
established order. Adam's fall did not establish
or change, Adam's fall did not change God's established order
of after his kind. But Adam's fall did change Adam.
He was created in the image of God. In God's likeness. Had he reproduced in the garden
before the fall, he reproduced how? after his kind. In that image and likeness. But
Adam fell in the garden. And after he fell, he can but
bring forth after that kind. After the fall. Adam changed. He changed in all
of his faculties. And some say this is kind of
what it means when creating God's image. It doesn't mean his physical
shape because God is spirit. Right? But be all, here's man's
faculties, his intellect, that is his mind. And it always starts
there, Joe, you're right, it starts here, the mind. Scripture's
not ignorant of this. Here's man's faculties, and there's
three of them. Everything else about man falls under these three
things. And some say this is a sense in which we're created
in the image and likeness of God, Father, Son, Holy Ghost,
three in one. We have three faculties in one
being. Intellect, affection, and volition. That is mind, heart,
and will. But the thing about it is, as
Joe adequately professed it forth this morning, these things are
like this. These three are one. You take away my mind, Joe, I
am not all that I was. Right? You do something to an
individual and they lose all their emotion, their affection,
lose all of that, whatever. Maybe even opposite ones now
since we're fallen, we have hate as well as love, and hate for
the wrong things as well as love. But you take that away and a
person that we usually call them like what, a vegetable. We're
taking away the mind. What about the wheel? What if
something happens? You're not the whole person. You ever heard
somebody say somebody about somebody's in a coma, well they're not whole.
They're not the complete them. And there is a sense in which
that is true. If one faculty loses its ability to function,
you see what I'm saying? But the point is this, mind,
heart, and will, or intellect, affection, and volition, are
in man this. They are not this. It's joined together. And you
can't separate Walter Pendleton from his mind and still have
Walter Pendleton. You cannot separate Walter Pendleton
from his affection, that is his heart, that inner being of feelings
and emotions. You can't do it and may still
be Walter Pendleton. You cannot, you cannot talk about
Walter Pendleton's will, his volition, and not talk about
the rest of Walter Pendleton and it be Walter Pendleton. Now
you, the philosophizers can philosophize all they want, but you ain't
gonna get by that one. That's the very reality you'll see before
us in our own physical bodies and the way we operate. I dare any scientist, I defy
you to try to prove that wrong. Why? That's God's word. That's God's word. Now think
about this. When Adam fell, his whole being
fell. Intellect, affection, and volition. That is mind, heart, and will. When Adam fell, his whole being
fell. And Adam did not, that's after
he fell, he did not think properly. Go back to Genesis 3, 1 through
19, and read it for yourself. Did Adam think properly after
he fell? As soon as he fell, Mason, he had communion with
God. He should have said, I've sinned
against God. Oh God, look at me, I'm naked.
I've defied you. I've sinned against you. Did he do that? No. He did not
love properly. He loved himself and to cover
his own sin more than he loved the honor of God. Go back and
read it. and he did not choose properly
either. As a matter of fact, hear me? His choice was what got us in
this mess to start with. It's the will that's the main
problem. Because when Adam fell, he was
created originally upright. He didn't have all the, matter
of fact, Adam wasn't tempted, Eve was. Adam stepped right into
it. Willingly, and you think God
leaves the will alone, but yet now says the heart and the mind
are defiled and abhorrent? It don't work that way. It cannot
work that way. And anybody who says different
are not just defending their denominational doctrine of free
will, they're in la-la land. The divine order then brought
forth this, as the apostle Paul said, wherefore, as by one man's
disobedient sin into the world. But more than that, now read
this, listen to this one. Romans 5, listen to what it says.
Romans five, verse nine, just the first part of that. For as
by one man's disobedience, many were made sinners. Why? Because God's divine order
still stands. Once Adam fell, he cannot but
bring forth hell after his kind. I could just stop right there
and say amen, that's the end of the message, but I'm not going to. after his kind. This is why we
read in scripture, and there's a whole lot more to it, I'll
just give you a few. This is why we read Peter saying all
flesh is what? Grass. Grass, just grass. And remember, grasses were one
of the things that got the seed itself. Grasses is one of the
things that comes forth after its own kind. So now we're told
that we're just like the, our flesh is just like the what?
Grass. Coincidence? I don't think so. I don't think so. And the glory
of grass does what? Fades away. It is but temporary. It is but temporary. This is
why we also read all flesh is unclean. Bildad said this to
Job. Now Bildad, his doctrine was right, but his application
was wrong. Bildad said this. An unclean woman cannot bring
forth a clean child. Now I'm paraphrasing. But that's
what he said, didn't he? Why? Because the divine order
still stands. After he is kind. And your mommy was a sinner.
And my mommy is a sinner. I should say your mommy is a
sinner. Why? Why? Because Adam fell. Adam
fell. and he could not bring forth
but after his kind. And when we continue to propagate,
we cannot but bring forth, how? After his kind. This is a divinely established
order that I defy anyone to try to change. Go ahead. Go ahead. Set your hand to it
and see what happens. God will crush your soul. not
just your hand. This is why we read that even
the Christian's flesh is after his kind. The Apostle Paul, born
of God, yet knowing what he still has in the flesh, says, writing
inspired in Romans chapter seven, verse 18 says, I know that in
me, that is in my flesh, dwelleth what? Very little good stuff. No good thing. This is why we also read the
Apostle Paul saying this, we rejoice in Christ Jesus. And
we got 99% confidence in him and 1% in the flesh. Is that
what he said? Did you know what John Wesley
one time tried to state something like that? Yeah, no, Paul says
we rejoice in Christ Jesus, and how much confidence do we have
in the flesh? No, N-O. Now we know what that means even
when we're yay big. And mommy and daddy says no.
We know what that means, that's why we fit, squirm, fuss, and
cry, and say I'm not gonna listen, because no means what? Well maybe,
no, no means no. No confidence in the flesh. Think
about what the Apostle Paul wrote about Abraham. Romans chapter four. What shall
we say then that Abraham our father as pertaining to the what? Flesh hath found. Now think,
here's the man that did not have the law of Sinai. Right? Mason, he didn't have any ecclesiastical
order to walk by. Now did he? Church rules? Do
this and don't do that? He didn't have any of that, did
he? But look, so why'd he have it come to the flesh? What'd
he find? For if Abraham were justified by works. So we're
not talking just about religious works. This is what most people
think when they talk about works. They say, well, then you're saying
that witnessing the people about Christ is of no avail, no benefit,
and it really doesn't matter. You're getting it all wrong.
You don't get what we're talking about. It's talking about human
effort, the effort of the flesh, works. Everything I do, religious
or otherwise, is flesh works. And no flesh works ever cuts
it. You got two works, they may look exactly the same, but if
one's done by the flesh, and one's done by the Spirit of God,
God honors the one done by the Spirit of God, God hates the
one done by the flesh. And they can look exactly alike.
Give you illustration, you got two people singing in the choir.
I don't think the choirs are all that great, but if we had
a choir, we'd be singing to nobody. Ain't but a handful of us here,
so we know there'd be nobody out there to sing to. But you'd
have two people in that same choir, one singing for his own
honor and recognition, the other singing for the honor of God.
You see what I'm saying? Just a simple illustration of
that. What should we say then that Abraham, our father, is
pertaining to the flesh is found? For if Abraham were justified
by works, by his own effort, whatever it is, by flesh, that's
what he says. Mason, I'm glad I found that
word right there. Look, for if Abraham were justified
by works, He hath whereof to glory, but then he says, but
not before God. He can glory in it, but God won't. It's settled. Yes, work, work,
work, and men will glory in you. They'll give you praise and recognition,
but if it's in your flesh, God won't. Witness for Jesus. I'm telling you, witness for
Jesus all you want, but if it's in the flesh, God don't honor
it. God don't honor it because it's
after his kind, Adam's kind, and my kind, because that's all
I am, in the flesh. In my flesh dwells no good thing. Nothing from the flesh produces
sons of God. Go back and look at John chapter
one, verses 10, 11, 12, 13. There are some people, Christ
created this world. He's the creator here we read,
Paul read about in Genesis one. Christ is, and he came into the
world and the world knew him not. He came into his own. Well, they didn't receive him,
but as many as received. So there were some that received
him. So what's the difference? Are they better men? Better women? Do they have a better intellect?
Better affections? Better volition? No, not in the
flesh! Because it goes on to say, which
were born. Not of blood. Why? Because blood can only be
after his kind. And blood is fallen blood now. Not of blood, nor of the, and
then he says it, will! Do you hear me, free willers?
Not of the will of the flesh! not of the will of man. Why?
Because we're born after our kind. Flesh is flesh, but born
of who? God. God, and God brings forth,
how? After his kind. Isn't that what
Paul says about the new creation, the new man? That new man is
created in righteousness and true holiness. How? After the
image of him that created him. Huh? You know, it's good, you
don't have to learn theology, just preach what God's book says.
And you're the deepest theologian that ever walked on the face
of the earth. You know what I'm saying? I barely graduated the
12th grade, but it's not about my wisdom. Joe, it's not about
my intellect, my affection, or my volition, it's about thus
saith the Lord. We'll look at this later, God
willing. God said this, he didn't just
do, he said this. Paul read it, and it was so. Now if God could do that for
a universe of billions of not just stars, but of galaxies that
have billions of stars in them, you think God can't handle your
puny little self? Boy, you really think wise of
yourself compared to God, don't you? No, after his kind. Now note, note the deity wrought
after his kind. You see it? And how's this originally
ever manifested? How do I, who is those people?
John tells us in 1 John 5 and 1, whosoever believeth that Jesus
is the Christ is born of God. So it begins with faith. And
particularly, faith in Christ. If you don't believe Jesus is
the Christ, don't come talk to me about, I'm born of God. I
don't care, if I believe God's working on me, you got no reason
to come to believe that Jesus is the Christ. Then you can say,
I'm born of God. And there's two things. Those
born of God, two things that are paramount. Even Christ said
the law has two laws that are paramount. Everything falls under
those two auspices, right? Love God and worship him only,
and love your neighbors yourself. Everything else falls under that,
right? When you think about it, John says, believing Christ,
Jesus is the Christ, and what? Loving everybody else is born
of God. You see, if you really believe Jesus is the Christ,
you're gonna love everybody else that believes that Jesus is Christ.
And you can't help it, because you're born after his kind. You
just can't help it. Now we gotta be encouraged about
it, because we still got the flesh, that wants to hate those
folks and go back and love the ones we used to be a part of.
Right? So we have to battle. And we
struggle. But Mason, in the new man, I
believe Jesus Christ. And I love God's people. And
I thank God for that, because that ain't of my intellect, that
ain't of my affections, that ain't of my volition. That's
all based upon God Almighty's sovereign purpose in grace and
mercy. I hope some of you folks out there hear this on the TV,
I hope God Almighty does that for you. Because if he doesn't
born you, reproduce you after his kind, you will die in your
own kind. And you will perish. You will
perish. God wrought, the God wrought
after his kind starts, is manifested, first of all, in believing Christ
and loving Christ's people. But let me show you, here's just
a few other things that fall under those two canopies there. It's actually one canopy, it
comes together, just two different aspects of it. Let me just give
you three of them. His kind commits to God. Those that are born after
God, they commit to, just like Jesus Christ. Remember, we are
predestinated to be conformed to the image of his son. One
day we will be that literally. physically, in a real body. But he begins that even at conversion,
regeneration and conversion. And what did Jesus Christ do?
He committed himself to him that judgeth righteously. And Peter
said he's our example. Right? He's our example. In other
words, Jesus Christ knew he was going to suffer a horrendous,
torturous death. But he committed himself to God.
who judges right, God ordained that before the world began.
So he said, all right, bring it on. Now the problem is, often we
don't realize that till after the fact. But no matter what
comes your way, God Almighty ordained it for you. That's tough
sometimes, but you know what? By God's grace, Joe, I commit
myself to him that judgeth righteously. He's right. He's fulfilling His
purpose to get Himself glory, and it'll be for my good. Now,
could I tell the little ditty penny about the preacher told? Jack Shanks told this. I'm gonna
have to tell it like Jack Shanks used to. Jack's gone now, I think,
but he used to tell this. Think about it, we know this,
and we know, we don't understand how, but we know that all things
work together for good to them that love God, to them who are
the called according to his purpose. And it goes on to say, God foreknew
these people, God predestinated these people, God calls these
people, God justifies these people, God glorifies these people. So
in other words, everything that happens to me is good. It's good,
no matter how bad it is. Now figure that one out. No matter how bad it is, it's
good. There was once a king and he had a fellow that helped him
out a lot, a real good friend, and they always went hunting
together. And one of the practices was when the king and his good
friend would go hunting, the good friend of the king would
always load the king's gun. Back in the days, the old powder,
ball and powder. So the old king sees something
and he pulls up the rifle that his friend had loaded for him,
pulled the trigger, it blew up and blew his thumb off. Well,
everyone knew that the king's friend just had this saying all
the time, well, it's good. Whatever happens, it's good.
That is good. So when the king stood there
with his bloody nub, his friend looked at the king and said,
this is good. And the king said, no, this ain't good. Stuck his friend in prison. Good
friend, stuck him in prison. You caused me to have my thumb
blown off. Well, the king kind of heals up. He just got a nub
there now. He goes hunting again, of course
not with his good friend, because his good friend locked up in
prison. So he goes hunting again, and he kind of goes out of the
way. We don't really know why, but he goes into this place where
there's a lot of cannibals. And he gets captured by the cannibals.
And they're ready to boil him in the pot to eat his flesh.
But these cannibals have a superstition that they can't eat any man that's
not whole or they'll be defiled and be evil themselves. So when
they seen the king didn't have but a nub for a thumb, they let
him go. And he said, the king said, this
is good. This is good. Well, the king starts feeling
bad about his friend. Think about it. He saved my life. Didn't
even know it. He saved my life. So he goes
and he's the king, pardons his friend. Come on, let him out
of there. He said, I'm sorry. Wasn't good that I had you put
in prison. And his friend said, no, this
is good. He said, good, I put you in prison. What you did saved
my life. He said, king, this is good.
Because had I been with you. That's right. Figure the rest out for
yourself. He'd have been in the pot. Now that's a silly little we
laugh story, but that's just a simple illustration. When God
almighty reigns all hail down on your heart, your intellect,
your affections and your will. If you're His, if you're after
His kind, it's for your good. You won't see it right then,
but know, Paul says, we know. We don't see, but we know all
things work together for good. His kind bow in humility. Remember
Christ? And he says, be after this mind. The same mind that was who? In
Christ Jesus. And what'd he do? He was obedient
unto death, but not just laying down on his bed and closing his
eyes and his spirit passing from him. He's obedient unto death,
even the death of the cross. And my brothers and sisters,
he did that for us. He did that for us. This is good. I know when Mary stood there,
she couldn't have been thinking. Mason, she just couldn't have
been thinking this is good. It had to rip her heart out. But
it was good! And I'm sure she's seen that
later. My son, he was her real flesh
and blood son. He was in her womb. She birthed
him, held him, fed him on her breasts. She sees him being tortured
to death as far as she's concerned. But I know it come later, this
is good. And his kind delight in God's
will. Everybody talk about will, man's
will, free will. Even the Lord of glory prayed
to the Father and said, what, not my will, but thine be done. Now how much more should that
be so about me? One who's born after Adam's own
kind. But I can only face that reality
after I'm born after God's own kind. My conclusion, do you,
do I see my flesh as nothing more than after his kind? That's all it'll ever be, folks.
If you try to improve it, you'll be frustrated. Paul gives us
a little advice, just mortified, dead in it, like with a hand.
You know, you ever heard somebody say, well, my hand's hurting.
Well, so here, let me whack you on this right one, you'll forget
about the left one. Paul says mortified, dead in it, just dead
in it. Now, after a while, the numbness
will go away and it'll be right back, but you gotta keep on,
Mason, keep on dead in it. That's the best we can hope for
when it comes to the flesh. The best! but it'll be with us
till the day we awaken his likeness. So I ask you, I ask you on TV,
you probably won't get this part of it, but if you listen to the
rest of it, do you see your flesh as this, after his kind? Do you long for God's work of
after his kind? Joe Galusik, I still need that
today. I need that new man by the power of the spirit flourishing
in me. flourishing in me, because when it's not, the other kind
does. You see what I'm saying? So what's that forced me to do,
just to be more faithful? That's gotta come from his kind, God's
kind. It's oh God, if you don't do it, it won't get done. Father, oh God, teach us these
things. And you have, but Lord, maybe
more honestly, remind us constantly of these things. In Christ's
name, amen.
