How can sinners please God according to the Bible?

Answered in 1 source

Sinners can please God by having faith in Christ, as only through Him is reconciliation achieved.

The Bible reveals that sinners please God not through their own works, but through faith in Jesus Christ. Hebrews 11:6 teaches that faith is necessary to approach God, as He requires a belief that He is a just God who saves. Enoch's life exemplifies this; by faith, he walked with God and was in right standing before Him. Righteousness is imparted to believers through Christ's sacrifice, and thus, sinners are enabled to please God only when they rest in the sufficiency of Christ's atoning work. Hence, it is faith that connects a sinner with God and allows for a life that is pleasing to Him.
