How can we be assured that our sins are forgiven?

The assurance of forgiveness comes from the promise of God in His Word that states we are forgiven through Christ's blood. Therefore, when believers place their faith in Christ, they are assured of their forgiveness because their sin debt has been charged to Christ, who bore it upon the cross.
