How do we gain assurance of our salvation?

Answered in 1 source

Assurance of salvation comes through faith in Jesus Christ's completed work, not through personal merit.

Believers gain assurance of their salvation by looking unto Christ and His finished work rather than relying on personal deeds or adherence to the law. Ephesians 6:17 emphasizes the helmet of salvation, which protects the mind by affirming that Christ's righteousness is the foundation of assurance. When faced with struggles or doubts, the believer’s confidence is renewed by steadfastly resting in the promises of God and the completed redemptive work of Jesus. The assurance lies in understanding that salvation is a divine gift and not contingent upon fluctuating human efforts.
