How do we know death is gain for Christians?

Answered in 1 source

For believers, death is considered gain as it leads to eternal fellowship with Christ.

Paul declares in Philippians 1:21 that to die is gain, which reflects the Christian conviction that death is not the end but the beginning of a glorious existence with Christ. Unlike the world's perspective that views death as the ultimate loss, the believer understands it as a precious transition into everlasting joy and unbroken fellowship with Jesus. This perspective is rooted in the assurance that death signifies the shedding of sin and suffering, allowing us to experience the fullness of joy in Christ’s presence without pain or tears.
